In this continuing message from the True Worship sermon series on the Midweek Church Service, Reverend Tim Gutmann teaches that true worship is rooted in reverence, humility, and obedience — not treating God as an “add-on” to life, but recognising that Jesus is central.

Using the account of Uzzah and the Ark (2 Samuel 6), the sermon warns against becoming over-familiar with holy things and losing the fear of the Lord. Reverend Tim explains that fear and faith are linked: what we fear most reveals where our trust is placed, and Jesus urges believers to fear God rather than man (Matthew 10:28). Worship, therefore, is a surrendered posture before God — yielding to His purposes rather than questioning Him as the clay questions the potter (Romans 9:20).

The message emphasises that when we approach the Lord with awe and obedience, God meets us with reassurance and strength — “Fear not, for I am with you” (Isaiah 41:10). It closes with a call to worshipful boldness: to draw near with confidence to the throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16), believing for mercy, help, and breakthrough — declaring the Lord as Yahweh Perazim, the Lord of breakthrough.
