Welcome to episode one of the Get Or Done Podcast. My name is Briston Reigns, and I decided to finally start this podcast after really pushing it down the road, kicking the can down the road for a while. But just a little bit about me and why I started this podcast. So right now I'm currently building the or trying to build the largest endurance event company in the world. So essentially, I want to be if you guys know what Iron Man is, Spartan, HIROX, I want to be bigger than all those guys. And right now I own uh Texas Outlaw Running Company and Outlast. And so I'm in the middle in the process of building up this biggest event company the world's ever seen. And I was like, let's document the whole thing. And while we're doing it, let's do this podcast. So that way, hopefully, I can inspire somebody else out there to really reach their full potential spiritually, um, reach your full potential physically, and then reach your full potential in business or in in the financial state or whatever it is. At the end of the day, you know, we play in a game called capitalism. In America, there's a game called Capitalism, and basically, like, you can play in it, and you can win and you can lose, and it's a lot of fun. And so I was like, let's play this game. So here we are. Um, one of the biggest things I've uh had to learn um with doing everything that we've done so far, and I've done so far, is you gotta stop waiting for that perfect moment. So, like with this podcast, I was like, Oh, I need a cool podcast studio, I need this, this, and that, right? I literally have my phone attached to a tripod with a little mic right now, and I'm in my office where I work. And I was like, you know what, this is gonna do. We're gonna work with what we got. I had a guy who usually comes in and records podcasts with me and helps me out. He couldn't come in today. I was like, screw the excuses, here we are, we're doing it. I think a lot of people wait for that right moment before they start that thing, and the longer you wait, the less likely it is to happen. The same thing happens in sales and business. The longer you wait between when the person says yes to the deal and then actually getting the money, the more likely you are to lose their business. And so it's it's one of those things, it's like when people get this business idea or this thought of like, oh, what if I did that? The longer they wait on the action to do it, the less likely it is to happen. And personally, what I've found is that when I have I'm a guy that has a lot of ideas. If you look through my business ideas notes on my phone, I have a hundred different business ideas and I think of a new one every three days. And one of the biggest things I've I've seen is like if I have an idea that doesn't um if I have an idea that doesn't I don't have a desire for, I'm probably not gonna take any action on it. But I'll throw it on the back burner of like, oh, that would be a cool idea, but I'm not gonna do it. Um, when I have something that kind of flows in line with my current way of life, and it's a good idea, and I'm really fired up about the idea, and I can see myself doing it long term, that is when I begin to take action on that idea. And so this podcast has been an idea for a few months, and I kept pushing it off, pushing it off, pushing it off. At the end of the day, I run my work life based on a calendar and a to-do list, and so I said, screw it. Monday, I scheduled this podcast at 10 a.m. this morning, and here we are doing it, and I repeated that schedule every single week. So every week I'm gonna be on here doing this, and regardless of where this goes, we're gonna give it a shot, we're gonna use a lot of content from this, and this is really for me to have a chance to pour into people to reach their full potential spiritually, physically, and in business, but it's also an opportunity for me to share my progress where I'm at building the world's biggest event organization on here, and so uh this is a really, really uh neat platform, and and I'm I'm excited to do to do this. Um, and one of the biggest things that I've I've learned with this too is you just figure stuff out. So, like when I first started my business, you have to learn the art of figuring things out, and so I've done podcasting in the past, I've been doing it for a long time actually, and I've had my ebbs and flows with it. Um, but one of the things I've noticed is whenever you do have your idea, you think you have to figure all these things out to start when you just start and then you figure it out as you go. That's literally what I did with my business. I was like, hey, let's do 24 running events, and I don't know how we're gonna do any of these, but we'll just figure it out. And that's what we did because we had to. We had people signed up, we had to figure out what we were doing. Uh share a little bit about me. I am uh a Christian, a very devout Christian. I love the Lord, and I am born again, and I'm a very big believer on action within the body of Christ. Uh, you know, the the church is very big on having a pastor preach, and then you have 70 to 80 percent of your church congregation sitting in a seat listening, and that's all they do is they just show up and listen every week when the Bible calls us to actually walk out and not be listeners, but doers of the word. Paul actually talks about that. And so one of the biggest things that I really um am passionate about is getting people out of the freaking church views and into the streets, preaching the gospel, loving people, and actually doing ministry. And so um that's gonna play into something new uh ministry-wise, I plan on doing here, Lord willing, in the next uh it could be in a few months, it could be in a couple of years, but I have this idea of starting this ministry where people can literally come in and you still have your you know, your typical preaching sermons that you see in the American church, but you you go through these discipleship courses that you get credits for. And once you graduate the discipleship course, you actually get plugged in with a group of people that share the same gifting as you within the body of Christ, and you actually go out and do stuff. And so realistically, what that looks like is if you're very gifted at uh evangelism and you love preaching the word, we put you with a group of people where y'all go out weekly or monthly and go preach the word. If you're a pastor, we put you in a group with people who are called to be pastors and you counsel people. If you're a teacher, um you will come together as teachers and you'll teach the word and teach uh discipleship. And everyone will have the ability to know what the gospel is, to lay hands on the sick, to cast out demons. Everyone has that ability, but we will put you in your specialized talent or your specialized gift, and this is a ministry I've been wanting to start for a while. It's very unique compared to the modern day American church. That's a whole side tangent. I don't even know how I got off on the side tangent there. But uh, anyways, um, so I'm very, very passionate about that stuff. I'm, you know, it it really I get fired up about these pastors preaching a fried chicken gospel. I'm actually writing a book called The Fried Chicken Gospel, but there's a lot of pastors out there that will go out and they'll preach this easy, really nice, lovey dovey gospel, but they won't ever share any of the extra stuff that's needed and shared within the gospel. Um, they won't share the full picture essentially, and they'll add stuff to it that's unhealthy for the Christian and the new Christian. And if you just eat fried chicken your whole life, you're gonna be an unhealthy person. We have a lot of pastors and churches out here preaching a fried chicken gospel, creating a lot of unhealthy congregation uh and uh a lot of unhealthy people in their church, and so my mission is to stop that and to actually engage the church to be action-oriented instead of listener listening oriented. Anyways, that is a whole big spill on the fact that I'm a Christian. Moving on. I am also a um I'm a husband, I have two daughters, and I'm so I'm a father, obviously, and um I'm a business owner, I own a couple businesses, a few businesses, and I'm an ultra-marathon runner, I really enjoy running. I'm starting to get back into strength training because I'm not a fan of being a skinny dude, and I'm like, hey, I need a little bit of muscle, so I've been eating a lot of food lifting a lot lately. So uh there's a little bit about me, and um I'm just a little bit of an entrepreneur on the business side. I I love uh business starting businesses, it's business is super fun to me, and there's a lot of freedom and creativity to it. So um, but uh yeah, so I guess I can maybe just dabble in and share a little bit about how my business came to be and touch on that real quick just in case anybody's curious on how that came to be. But so my business, I started it in 2020 in my college dorm dorm room at Southern Arkansas University, and at first it was just me and my laptop, and I had like a couple hundred dollars in the bank account, and I needed some more money to pay for the website. So I went around my dorm room, uh my dorm, and I offered people small, small, small, like 0.00% investment into my company for like 50 bucks, um, which by the way completely paid off for them now. Uh, but I took some of that money, I got a couple hundred dollars from some other people, and took my couple hundred dollars, and I was able to launch the website, and from the website, I was able to create my first race, and so I started off doing a 5k and I made a couple hundred dollars off that 5k, and then I did my first ever trail race called the Troop of Copper 50. It was the first uh trail race we ever race directed as a company, and that's what we're known for now is trail racing. But I recorded that on YouTube, it's on my YouTube channel, Briston Reigns. I think it's titled like I race directed my first ever race at 18 years old or something like that. It's on YouTube, you can go back and watch it, but that was my first ever trail race, and I started with that, and then I did another race, and I just kept doing more races, and I figured out and I just did the numbers. I was like, Um, I I basically was just like if I can make you know three thousand dollars profit per event, that's enough to live off of if I do like 12 of them, and so I just kept adding, adding, adding, adding events. Um, and then we built a really good brand after a few years, and the brand and the company didn't take off until about three or four years in. And to be fair, I didn't even pay myself that much out of the business until that three or four year mark. And I did take some money out to pay for some college, a very little bit. Um, when I say very little, it was like a few thousand dollars I would pull out to pay for that college semester. I had scholarships, so it was very cheap for me to go to college, and so that's how I started, and I just kept adding more and more events, and I grinded in the dirt, figured everything out. I didn't know a dang thing, and uh, we're at the point now to where you know, all of that legwork, all that beginning hard work. Like I I remember uh friends would invite me out to go hang out with them on a weekend, and I would stay back because I was working on my business. Like any free time I had in college, I spent working on my business on my laptop. I would front load all my schoolwork Monday through Wednesday, and then that way I would have Thursday through Sunday just to work on my business for 10 to 12 hours a day. What I was doing during that time is I was building my website, I was getting and starting events, um, I was doing uh permits and applications, and I was just grinding. And I really gave up my college experience to build a business. What's cool now though is I worked hard then, I'm able to play now. A lot of people play in college and then have to work hard after. But if you're an entrepreneur and you're in college and you work hard while you're in college, you'll be able to play more when you get out. Whereas it's the opposite for everybody else, where when they're in college, they play hard, and then when they get out of college, they work hard. And so it's a lot more fun doing it the opposite way around. And so I made a lot of sacrifice. I um I worked so freaking hard, and those first three years was just laying the foundation of the business. Before you know it, after a few years, our brand got around, people began to recognize us, and I really figured out how to properly do some marketing and advertising, which is huge. It took a few years, but I figured it out, and so with all those things, we now currently we serve over 15,000 runners per year. We have over 70 events, we have a staff of nine people, full-time staff, and we are currently located in Longview, Texas. I live or we work in this 2,000 square foot office space that we just moved into, it's awesome. I'm gonna do a video on it soon. And so that's a little bit about the business, how it came about, and how it got started. So that's how that is, and then um before I continue on, because in podcast listeners and people on YouTube forgive me, I do not have a fancy setup, and I just want to check and make sure everything's still good over here. It is perfect. Okay, so anyways, moving on. So, what is good or done? So, this podcast, and I'll I'll provide probably another backstory another time, but this podcast came about because I I see so many people that have so much potential physically, they can work out more spiritually, they can connect with God more, and in business or financially, they can be more disciplined, or they can actually go out and start that business, but they just don't. And so the podcast name is get her done because the only thing between you and your dream is getting her done. Like you just gotta get it done, man. Like obviously, nobody wants to do the hard stuff to do this thing that may or may not work because there's no guarantee, right? But if you just get it done and you stay consistent for two years or a few years with whatever thing and you constantly improve upon every error, you in two to three years will be phenomenal at whatever it is. Key word there is improving upon every error you encounter. Because a lot of people, I see so many people, it's like some dude's 40-year-old uncle is like starting this new t-shirt business because he starts a new business every year. Everybody's got know that knows that guy. He's like 40, 50 years old, got a family, and he's starting a new business every year. And it's like, bro, number one, you need to stay consistent with one business. Number two, within your businesses, man, you need to improve upon every error, meaning everything you need to look at whatever you're selling or whatever business you're offering, and anything that can be improved upon, you're analyzing that every single day and improving it. Sending your website or your product or your service to family members and saying, Hey, what do I need to do to improve this? Um, getting serving a bunch of customers and then figuring out this common error or or this common thing that's not the best, and fixing it, right? And if you think about business on a on on a mathematical level, business can be brought down to a first grade level mathematically. What do I mean by that? So in math, we know one plus something equals two. Well, we know that something is one, right? One plus one equals two. Let me challenge you again. Two plus what equals four. Two plus two equals four, right? Okay, in business, you take your product or your service, whatever it is, its cost, plus your marketing, plus your cost per customer equals and whatever you want your outcome to be. So in business, if you want your outcome, like if you want to make ten thousand dollars a month, for example, and let's say you serve this hundred dollar product, okay. Well, we know that you got to sell a hundred of these hundred dollar products to get ten thousand. So we know uh selling a hundred, but the question is a hundred times what equals ten thousand. A hundred times a hundred people that say yes equals equals ten thousand, right? So then the question is, how do I get the hundred people to say yes? And then that's what you focus on and improve. And then once you improve and focus on that, then you hit your goal. A hundred dollars times a hundred people is ten thousand dollars. Perfect, you figure that out, but that's the hardest part. People cannot figure out how to get a hundred people to say yes, and that's what you focus on. Anytime you have a problem in your business and you're not sure how what to do, you figure it out. We have YouTube, we have AI, we have Chat GPT, like there's no excuses. Like before AI, we had YouTube. That's what I use, that's what I use to figure my stuff out. I just watched a bunch of YouTube videos. Okay, my college, my marketing college degree didn't do jack squat. I learned all my marketing from freaking YouTube, dude. And I got it done. I just I couldn't figure out how to get more people to my races, so I watched YouTube and learned it, and then I figured it out, and more people came. Boom. I mean, you get it done, man. It's mathematical on a first grade level businesses, and it's like I had a I had a guy I was talking to, and I was like, listen, man, if you want to get more customers, like you need to be posting every single day on social media on this specific local group. I was like, you need to post every day. Here's what you need to post. You need to share your story, a picture of you, and you need to be authentic. I think so many people too, they'll cheap out or they'll be lazy on the advertising and marketing, and it shows and it never returns. And so, like, people will use AI to make some cool photo or graphic and then post it on Facebook where five people see it. It's like, nah, dude, people love authenticity, especially now with AI. Post a picture of you with your family with your story, and then you'll get sales. And so you have to be authentic when you're doing your marketing and stuff, and you have to be willing to start small and humble yourself and realize, hey, I might only make 10 bucks today, but guess what? If I stick with this and continue to improve, that 10 bucks will turn into 10,000 in five years. Okay, you just gotta get her done, man. Um, so that's my inspiration behind this podcast. It's really to help people tap into the full potential spiritually, um, through Christianity, physically, uh, whether it's through running or weightlifting, and then uh you know, through business or financially, because you know, I I used to live on thirty thousand dollars a year just a few years ago as a salary, and I learned to live off of that. Now obviously we make more, but um it took a few years, right? And so if you only make thirty, twenty, thirty thousand a year, there's a way to live off of it. I'd love to help you. Um, and I'd also love to help you to show how you can increase that too. So um, yeah, that's that's get or done. We talk about fitness, faith, business, maybe even some family. So right now, where are we at? So right now, I am currently trying to fill in the gaps and the holes in my business. And so within my business right now, where we're at is we're in a place where it's like we're currently nationwide with our Outlast events, we're dominating Texas with our Texas running events, and so right now I'm in a process of quality over quantity, and we are improving quality on everything we're currently have. I don't plan on adding any more than what we have, and so we're trying to fix all the small things, and we're trying to improve the experience of the runner, and so that's where we're at right now. Like right now, we're a little behind on permits. Right now, we can improve our interfaces, um, like our Outlast website. We just launched a new one, but then I figured out it's hard to navigate, so then I'm hiring another company to do a new one for us. And just because the one that we have made just is very difficult to navigate. And so getting a new website, another new website. I've spent a lot of money on websites, um, just to nail the right one. I could just do it myself, but I I really want a professional to come in and create a professional website. Um, you can tell when a website's built by Wix or Square or one of these other website builders. So um we're at the level of professional, so we need a professional website. Not now, if it was just me and 200 bucks, I'd build my own website, but we're above that now. We need a professional website. All these, if we're gonna be the biggest endurance brand in the in the world, we need a big website, a big professional website like everybody else. So we're doing that. We're also looking at how to do more and better uh community involvements with our events as far as engaging with local influencers or club leaders and um doing some stuff outside of our events with them, and so we're working on. On that, and we're working on improving our systems. So, one of the big things you have to have to grow and scale a business is good systems and processes. And so, as of right now, I found a AI website called taskade.com. And basically, it's an AI software engineer that can build anything you want. It can literally build a video game from scratch. It's the coolest thing. And what I'm having it do is I had it, I had it build out our to-do list that all of our race directors use. But then I'm also having it build out like a financial dashboard where it brings in all of our financials from all of our events into one place, and I could just view everything. It has the ability to see how far out we are on permits. Um, we have a swag order form for our production manager. Anytime someone fills out the swag order form, it goes to our production manager. He then goes and orders stuff directly from suppliers, which saves us a lot of money. And so another you know, a few things we need to do is we need to integrate AI into our email customer service. Um, we need to put some uh our our ad and marketing performance stuff on there, and so there's a lot of stuff we're using there, and we're just solidifying and making that really strong. Essentially, we have a playbook right now where we can just hire a race director, they can come in, we have playbooks and checklists and trainings, and they can just do everything and learn everything and then go out and do a race. It's a plug-and-play method. I made putting on a race as easy as someone at McDonald's creating a hamburger, and so that was or that's what we have, and and I'm just improving upon what we currently have and really solidifying it. And you know, we have this big boom of races, this big boom of race directors and runners, and so I'm trying to just make sure with this big boom, everything floats and everything's okay, and uh we don't outgrow our systems and hurt. And um, yeah, I could hire 10 race directors, we can do a hundred more races today, but you know, with that would cause absolute chaos, especially on the marketing and advertising side, and so we have to be careful with with uh how fast we grow because if you grow too fast, you can break everything. So, but I have a list in the other room on a board that I need to put in here. Uh, we just moved into this new office a few weeks ago, and that has some stuff we're working on as far as future goes. Where do where are we going in the future? Well, next year we would like to serve 100,000 runners next year, 100,000 uh people, or not 100, sorry, 30,000 people. And by 2030, we want to serve 100,000 people per year. And realistically, I think if we continue the trajectory on and we continue to improve and solidify our internal processes, that we can serve more than 100,000 people by 2030, to be quite honest with you. And it's funny because I'll make these big goals and we'll accidentally go over those goals on accident. And it's it's pretty cool to see. Like, I'll set a goal of like, hey, let's do 15,000 runners this year, or let's serve 15,000 participants, and then you know, time rolls around and ends up being like 17,000 or 20,000. So that that just seems to happen all the time for me. Um, I'll set a goal and then we'll accidentally go over the goal, and I'm like, sweet, like uh, and we just continue to double our growth every single year, and so um, but that is currently what I'm working on in the business and what I'm um trying to build, and future episodes, you know, I I I really want to go over a lot of different broad range of topics, but all tied within faith, fitness, and and business. And so, you know, we might talk some politics, we might talk um all these different things, but we're doing it through the lens of prioritizing faith, uh, fitness, and business, and even family, of course. So um that's that's what we're doing and what we've got planned. And if you want to better yourself uh financially, uh fitness or in business, if you want to better yourself, this is the podcast for you. And I like to surround myself with people that better me. And so I've gotten to a pretty cool point in my career where we're pretty successful now, and I would love to teach other people, hey, like if you want to get to you know, uh million dollars in revenue with your business, like let me help you, right? And I think it all starts with your personal journey, but you know, it this is just me uh trying to help you or other people get to the point where where you can be successful over a broad range of of your faith, of your fit family, fitness, and business. And I do plan on having guests on the show, maybe some co-workers or some friends, and we'll shoot the bull, talk about a bunch of different stuff. But this is the Get Her Done podcast, and just go freaking get her done. Like, get it done. Like, I know you have that these things that God has called you to. You might have these dreams that God has given you, and it's like, go after that, like get it done. Like, you know, you need to pick up your phone right now and start recording, or you know that you need to figure out how to create a business structure and then get a business bank account, so then you can start mowing lawns or whatever it is, just get it done and be consistent, don't give up too quickly, give it a couple years, right? And yeah, I I I believe that if you're consistent and you continually approve upon errors, you'll do very great, amazing things. So I guess some lines I have or some quotes here. Um, you never feel or you never feel really ready if you just start. That's very true. No one's ever ready when they begin. A brand new doctor out of medical school is not ready when he begins, but he figures it out, he learns, and wisdom comes, knowledge comes, it just takes time. No one ever knows everything that they're doing when they first start. You just figure it out. And if you can learn the ability to figure things out, you'll do some really great things. Running taught me, here's the next quote. Running taught me the discipline needed for faith, business, and family. So whenever I was a runner, or I am a runner, but whenever I was running in high school, ran in college, one of the big things I learned is that to do things when you don't feel like doing them. And that taught me a lot in my life, in my business. Um, there's a lot of things in my business I have to do, but that I don't I don't feel like doing. There's a lot of things in my family that I have to do as a man that I don't feel like doing. Same goes for my faith. You think I felt like coming in here this morning and reading my Bible and praying? I didn't feel like doing it, but I did it anyways. It's discipline. I learned my discipline from running. I got up and ran on days I didn't want to get up and run. But it created success for me, and then I use that discipline in all other areas of my life. And if you can do that, if you can master your mind and be disciplined, you can do a lot of great things in the world, I believe. Next quote is that I don't want to wait until I make it. I don't want to wait until I make it. Because if you wait until you make it, you'll never make it. Meaning if you think tomorrow you can start doing this new thing in your life that's gonna better your life if you think you can just do it and you'll be and you'll make it immediately, you'll you won't make it. You have to go into it knowing this is gonna be a long process and take a few years. You have to be willing to just be like and accept that and then just take it day by day. And day by day we'll make the time fly. You'll look up and you'll be like, Holy smokes, it's three years. Like, dude, like we're about to be six years to our business, and I'm like, this is insane. Like, if I told my 18-year-old self, dude, you're in an office with 2,000 square feet, you got nine employees, and you guys are doing 70 events a year. If I told my 18-year-old self in my dorm room that right now, he'd be like, No freaking way, that was bigger than I dreamed when I was 18. When I was 18, I just wanted to make a hundred thousand dollars a year gross so I can live off of forty thousand dollars a year, that was my goal, and we blew past that, dude. And it's super, super cool, really, really cool. And but if you wait, if you think you're just gonna make it right when you start, you're setting it yourself up for failure. It's gonna take some time, but just start and know, hey, I'm gonna do you know, it's gonna take a few years. Um, you know, college is four years, some military deployment or employments are four-year contracts. High school is four years, middle school is three years. So just look at it as you're going into this new season of three to four years of your life, just like people go into the military or go to school or college, it's like three to four years of your life. You already know it's gonna be a long time, but you're gonna go into it, take it day by day, and before you know it, three to four years, you will have what you set after to get. So, get her done, guys. And I'm gonna wrap that up here. We're gonna have a lot of really fun, great podcasts, some funny podcasts. We'll have some serious podcasts. I want to get some really great guests on the podcast. Where we just talk about getting her done. And so, with that being said, go get her done.
