Mary, did you know?
SPEAKER_00Hello, and welcome to Mary. Did you know the podcast?
SPEAKER_01One last time. Oh, vocals. I was just gonna say season season finale, and you said, what if I gave you a little a little ditty? A little lick. A little. Um, yeah, this is our this is our season finale. Which is crazy. It's crazy. We've done this is the 15th. 15th. I think, yeah. Fifteen episodes. That's crazy.
SPEAKER_00Us just yapping.
SPEAKER_0115 hours. That's crazy. 14 and a half hours. I am so sorry. Like half episode that got like lost in the microphone. But um, yeah, oh yeah, I'm so sorry to everybody who listened.
SPEAKER_00If you're if you made it this far, you're a real one for real. You're my sister for real.
SPEAKER_01Um yeah, so we're gonna take a little bit of a break and we're gonna come back in the fall. Yeah, right? After after the wedding. Well, we'll have to figure out if it's after the wedding or the honeymoon, because you're gonna be a little bit.
SPEAKER_00Oh yeah, probably after the honeymoon.
SPEAKER_01You're not going immediately, right?
SPEAKER_00We're going the week after.
SPEAKER_01Okay, so basically.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So we get married on a Saturday, obviously, and then we leave that next Friday.
SPEAKER_01Oh, that's nice, though. You'll have a little yes. We'll get into this stuff. But yeah, yeah. Um but wanted to first talk about you. So we the shareholders know last week we had recorded two. So the episode you heard from the past week, we really had recorded almost two weeks ago now. Because you it's been a while. It's been it's been a minute. Because we've been all over. All over the world. All over the world. Um, all over the country. Really, just you. I've been um at my house.
SPEAKER_00But you went to Dallas, so why don't you tell us about that? I did go to Dallas. So this was my first time going to Dallas, and so we also went to Fort Worth, which they're for anyone who knows, they're basically the same city. They're it's just such a big city, it's split into two, but they're literally right next to each other. It's like they're 20 minutes apart, so it's like, how can you have two big cities 20 minutes apart?
SPEAKER_01That doesn't make sense in my mind, but also, like, especially they like like large, like separate cities. Yes. Do you know what I mean? That's being it's like that's like being like Buffalo and Rochester, we're like 20 minutes away and they were like they're separate places.
SPEAKER_00Yes, yeah. Um kettles playing with toys.
SPEAKER_01I was like, I was like, what is that noise?
SPEAKER_00Um, yeah, so we actually we flew into Fort Worth because Josh and I went to the Florence in the Machine concert.
SPEAKER_01Okay, tell me about that.
SPEAKER_00This was incredible. Like, first of all, the arena they were in was so nice.
SPEAKER_01I guess I didn't realize that you were like that close. I didn't realize you had like floor seats in the floor. We had floor seats, florins in the machine. Yes, which like Josh loves her, so I'm not shocked by this.
SPEAKER_00But yes, he wanted to be on the floor, and I was like, This is your girl.
SPEAKER_01And you've you've he's done that for you.
SPEAKER_00So yeah, exactly. So I was like, Yes, we can get floor seats. And calling them seats is incorrect because it was a pit. So it was the pit. It was just like standing room. Oh, we were standing, which is why we like we originally we didn't want, we didn't care about being close, but then once we got there, Josh was so excited and he was like, This is so cool. So I was like, Okay, let's let's go there. Go down there now. And luckily, we were there before the opener started. So we had, you know, like the floor was not full yet. So we got there and I was like, okay, we cannot leave.
SPEAKER_01Did you know who the opener was?
SPEAKER_00No. Um, I've never heard of them. It was a band called C Mat. Okay. Work. And I guess they're an Irish band. Okay. Um, and they were great. Um, the lead singer was incredible. Um, but because we got there early-ish, um, we were able to get like really close to the front. There were only maybe like four people ahead of us. Oh my god. So we were pretty close. Um, and I was like, okay, but you know, like we can't leave now because it's a like floor.
SPEAKER_01And I'm not I'm not like fighting another like aging uh homosexual to like get this seat back from.
SPEAKER_00Yes. And there were those gays doing that. Like I'm sure. It was a lot of a lot of women, which we love women in this household, um, but like a lot of women at the concert, and then there were like random pockets of gay men with their gay friends, and they were being terrors. I'm sure. Like they were the ones like pushing up to the front, and I'm like, we're not doing all this. Like, I it's really not that serious.
SPEAKER_01And like again, I you know, not to make harsh generalization generalizations, but I will. Texas gays are crazy. Are crazy, crazy. There's a there's like a a a level of just like get the fuck out of my awayness, and like that, like it's like a little, a little, a little scary to me.
SPEAKER_00It's like entitlement, I think, where like I was seeing that where they were just like pushing to the front because they wanted to be in the front and like there was no regard for anyone around them. And it's like, girl, what like what are you doing here? Anyways, so we were not doing that because we have manners. Um, but there was so there was this girl right next to us. Um, and the we went through the whole opener, and the opener was great, and then they had not another girl right next to you. Another girl right next to us. We just we we just experienced this. Uh-huh. And so they switch over the stage and get ready for Florence, and the lights dim, and Florence is about to come on, and this girl next to us passes out. Like, literally bumps in, like, falls into Josh. Well, because I I totally forgot about it until like just now, like recounting my experience. And so she literally like falls into Josh, and like Josh like catches her and puts her on the ground. And so, like, all the people around us are like, medic, medic, and they're doing like the the arm thing where it's like the you make the X. And Josh is like, also, Josh has had a couple drinks, so he's not like, I'm a medical professional, like, I'm here to help.
SPEAKER_01Like, he's he's he's trying to help, but also not claiming I am I am one that should be helping.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yes, and he's always been so good about that. He's like, I'm not going to spring into action if I've had a couple drinks.
SPEAKER_01What's happened when we were we would have seasons at the Bills games too? I remember people kept sliding down right by our seats, and like he was sort of like observing, but not being like, if I've had some beer or something. Because it's a liability, it's like a liability. But I still am checking to make sure He's doing everything that he can. Do they look like they need to help him immediately, or like is someone coming down here enough?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah. So he was with her, and everyone else was like with her, and there some people were like trying to splash water on her, and like her friends were like, Stop doing that. Um, but the craziest part was when they finally the medics came and they like put her on like the wheelchair gurney thing to take her out. Her one she was with her one other friend, and the medics were like, Are you coming? And she was like, No. And she literally let that bitch go on, go with God, and she said, I'm gonna stay and enjoy the concert. And honestly, you and I at the you you you and I at a Taylor Swift concert.
SPEAKER_01If if my sister passes out, I know that you know, and you know exactly where I where where I will be three hours later. Exactly. But right now, exactly that's between you and God, and between me and this woman.
SPEAKER_00Like that's that's unfortunately that's you and God, me and my goddess.
SPEAKER_01Title of app. That is um that's so real though. Oh, shout out to that girl. It was wild. Do you remember this has happened to us a couple times? Are we at Gove Ball where that girl passed out? Yes, and then we ended up keeping her sunglasses.
SPEAKER_00Yes, and I kept her fan. Sorry.
SPEAKER_01That was the fan. No, it was the year it was the other time before that we went to Gove Ball. That we got those green sunglasses, and I really no, they were red, and I really liked them. And you were like, Oh, do they look good on me? And I said, No, because I wanted them. I was like, Well, doesn't go with your coloring. They totally did. I mean, just no, you ate that. I just I just wanted them. That's crazy. Yeah. I feel like someone passed out when we were at Bonaro, too. People just be passing out. I mean, it's hot in some of these places. It definitely is. It definitely is. Was it hot indoors at the Florence concert? Oh, really?
SPEAKER_00I just don't think she like drank enough water. And yeah. That's I mean, everyone needs to drink more water.
SPEAKER_01That's why we don't yes, that's why we don't love, like, we've had this conversation before. I don't love pit. No. I would rather have like when we went to the air store and it was we were floor, but we had we had a chair that we didn't use. Like actual seats. But I don't like pit. I've only done it once for Gaga, but it was Joanne and no one was there, so it was great. You had room. No, but like literally, but it was amazing because we really did have room, and actually that was a scenario. We were in the pit, and there was I may have told the story before, there was the front stage, and then there was like behind us, there was just a piano. Oh, yes, and I was like, Yeah, and we just stood by the piano, which for the mo for 90% of the show, she was so far away, and then for 10 minutes of the show, I could like spit on her, and I was like, Well, this is uh this is amazing. Did she go like underground? No, so it was um in retrospect really ugly. Um, but the so for the art rave tour, well, I that one was great because she had pit, but the it almost looked like a Mario Kart track, it was a clear runway that was like a maze, and so you could be underneath it and see her. For this one, it was like inflatable and it fell from the ceiling and created walkways for her to get over to the piano, uh huh. Which was different. Okay, but um sure was something, yeah. Um, but that's amazing. So that was just day one, though. Then you like you had a whole wedding.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, yeah. So um after the concert, we stayed in Fort Worth. Concert was great, had a great time. You were in, so you so you stayed the night, then you went to Dallas for night two, right? Went to Dallas, yes, for the second day. And we did a lot. We went to the like JFK memorial and we went to like the museum where Lil Diva had come off.
SPEAKER_02Can you say that?
SPEAKER_00Oh my god.
SPEAKER_01Call them a diva. Am I allowed to say that?
SPEAKER_00Oh my god. Well, yes, I guess. I I think I'm keeping it in. Oh, we have to. The fact that that was your first response is crazy. I I I get so gay off that tequila. I listen, I made him strong today, so okay. Shareholder strap in.
SPEAKER_01Anyway, can you please speak again about our dead former president?
SPEAKER_00Thank you so much. Yes. So we went to the memorial. You know what? We should move on from this.
SPEAKER_01So anyway, so um after you left there, where did you do it?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we um we had a lovely Dallas day.
SPEAKER_01Unlike JFK. Okay, yeah, okay. We have I got I'm sorry, I'll stop.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Um, so after after that, we um we went to the aquarium. The aquarium was actually really fun. Um it's kind of less of an aquarium and more of an indoor zoo, I would say, because like they I guess an outdoor zoo would be hard there.
SPEAKER_01It's really hot.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, yeah. Um, but like for the actual aquarium, there wasn't much aqua? Oh. Um there was a lot of like open exhibits for like birds and monkeys. Okay, you know.
SPEAKER_01But like it's called an aquarium. Where are the where's the water?
SPEAKER_00Where's the fish? There are a couple, and I posted that video of the weird fucking shark.
SPEAKER_01I have screenshot it. I love her.
SPEAKER_00Like, I have never seen something like that in my entire life, but like I was thriving. Need to know her story. Yeah, yeah. Need to know the the lips, mama. The she had those done. Send me a doctor.
SPEAKER_01Freshly, freshly plumped. Yes. Have you seen have you watched that movie with Sally Field on Netflix? It's called like Remarkably Bright Creatures. No, that's a new one. I need you to watch it. Speaking of aquariums, you will cry. It's about like Sally Field like working in this aquarium, and she like makes friends with this octopus who like is speaking, but like she can't hear it. Um, and then there's like another character who's this like guy who like comes into town who's looking for someone. You will cry. Okay. Matthew told me to watch it, and I was like, okay, and I did cry. Did Matthew cry? He did. Of course. He did. But it is very good. But it just made me think of it because it's mainly set inside of an aquarium. Yeah. But an actual aquarium with actual like fish and water.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. Um backs. After the aquarium, we went back to the hotel and then we got dinner. Oh, and we went to the Roundup Saloon, which was actually crazy because this was the same day that Drag Race All-Stars came out and they did that challenge where they were like the bar challenge.
SPEAKER_01Yes, and one of them was the Roundup sale. Was Roundup Saloon.
SPEAKER_00But it was like the country bar.
SPEAKER_01We were re- I was I had watched it, but Matt hadn't watched it, so we were re-watching episode two. And I think I had missed when they said Roundup Saloon. I was like, Sean was just there. Yeah. I swear you were there the day that episode aired. And how did how did they feel about that ugly ass outfit Mystique made? Ooh.
SPEAKER_00I wasn't there for the actual viewing. They started the viewing at seven. Josh and I were still at dinner, but we went afterwards and we caught the end of Trinity Cabonet. Trinity K Bonet. Posting the evening. Um, and then it just turned into like the ran the regular like bar night. It looks super fun. They have a dance floor, and I'm not I'm talking like actual dance floor where it's like like it looks like a like a roller rink. Because they probably do a lot of line dancing. They do, yeah. And like you can't be on it and just like dancing. Like you have to you need to have a partner. You have to like, and they go every song, they stop and they leave the floor, and then a new song starts, and you have to find a new partner, and you have to it's like actually so cool.
SPEAKER_01That's a little but that's a little stressful.
SPEAKER_00Well, we were stressed because we didn't because you don't know anybody, yeah. So Josh and I like went in and danced. We were so scared we almost didn't do it, but we were like, We're here, you guys have to experience this. Um, and so we went on and Josh struggled to keep up. Love him, but he's not a dancer. Not exactly a mover, yeah. Um, but so we we did it, we tried it, and we did a lap. Everyone like moves in a circle, and like these bitches are twirling, like twirling, and it's actually like so cool to watch these strangers, yeah, like just say, Let's go dance, yeah, and there's no like sexual implication or anything like that. It's really just like people dancing together for the fun of it and for the art of it. And seeing these people like improv basically and know how to lead and know how to follow. Like, Josh and I were almost in tears because we were like, This is crazy, like this is so beautiful. Like, this is what going out and dancing should be like. Uh-huh. Yeah, yeah. And we were like, why don't we have this in Buffalo?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, well, but it's like it's so interesting. Because I was talking to my husband about this, about you saying how much fun you were having in Dallas, blah, blah, blah. And I we were talking about just like there's a there's like in some places like that. And I'm not saying that what you're saying is wrong and that you didn't have an amazing time or feel this way, but like often there's like there's places like that where it's like like Dallas is like probably like is it the biggest city in Texas? Either Dallas or Austin. But it's like in theory, not great to be a gay person, yeah, but it just in in terms of the politics of the place. Of the state. But then we were talking about, I was like, well, the difference though in a place like Texas, maybe to it to me it seems, then as opposed to maybe if you go to I'm trying to think of a place where people are really hateful, and I can't. May maybe somewhere in like in like a Kentucky or a place like that where and that's a generalization, but a place where like maybe they're more overtly um homophobic. Homo phobical the thing about Texans though, that I've met is like maybe maybe they're not gonna ask you those follow-ups about you, but in the moment they're like, have fun and be here. That that feels like a Texas vibe of like we're having a good time, we're blah blah blah blah without necessarily needing to know your life, your life story, if that makes sense.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but I also feel like Fort Worth and Dallas, the the two places that we went, like we're very gay friendly cities. Like everywhere we went, we would see pride flags, like okay, that's good, and you know, like in the windows of businesses and all of that good stuff.
SPEAKER_01So, like so, like where, although I guess this kind of goes to the fact of like as I was about to say, where are the homophobes? Only because like everywhere else only because Austin and San Antonio are also great. Well, but I I do feel like but this is the thing with Texas, is like every election it gets a little closer. Like yes, they're like they're always like now it's like a five-point difference.
SPEAKER_00Like it's like because the cities are growing, and so they're getting more more younger people who I feel like are going to these like giant cities that are like changing the mentality of I think the state overall and that's like pretty much the the case for many different red states where like the cities are where they're actually more people and they're way more open-minded and they're more liberal. Drive out to the middle of nowhere, and you're like, Yes. And that's why it's like the electoral college should be abolished, but we're not talking about that. And that's not on that. Um and then I went to Erica's wedding the next day and the real reason for the season. Yes, and that was an incredible time. It looked like a beautiful wedding. Um, she had a gorgeous dress for the ceremony in the church. I ended up seeing a I didn't take any pictures of her in that dress.
SPEAKER_01She shared a video of her and her now husband like walking, I think, like afterwards, and it looked gorgeous because I had seen I saw her reception dress.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Um, but the ceremony was beautiful. It was a uh in a church, gorgeous church. Um, and then we went to the reception, and the reception was so cool. Was there a goat? There was a like a donkey, a donkey, and a cow, a highland cow, and they both had saddles with beer and seltzer in the in the things. Oh, that's incredible. Yes. Oh, I love that. Um you're gonna pull that up in uh in a oh yeah, Easter aura. Just gotta find a cow. Matthew? Just kidding.
SPEAKER_01I was just about to say, we know a few. Yeah. Well, we know we know we know a few pigs.
SPEAKER_00Um that's funny. Um, yeah, so that was gorgeous. Um, she had a live band, which was they were incredible.
SPEAKER_01Here's the thing a live band is always amazing. A live band is also so expensive.
SPEAKER_00And it's like, it's just unfortunately like she said she not to spill her tea, but she said it was actually cheaper than all of the DJs that she like talked to. And I don't know if that's a Texas thing, but she said she found them like through social media. That's so maybe it's like a wedding band, but they're just a great band.
SPEAKER_01That oh, I wonder if that's it. Because listen, you you try a book of band. Well, you I think I feel like you or someone, maybe you looked into it. Bands here are wedding bands are expensive.
SPEAKER_00Yes, yes.
SPEAKER_01Um, but that's so that's so much fun.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it was so much fun.
SPEAKER_01Um just like the it keeps everybody out, like a DJ Ken as well, but live bands, like you feel there's more energy. You feel compelled to get out there because there's literally people playing for you.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah. Um, and then we flew home on Sunday. And that was my Texas trip.
SPEAKER_01Wow. That was a lot.
SPEAKER_00Wasn't there something else we were gonna talk about in the segment?
SPEAKER_01I think we were gonna talk about like just the uh auditioning and the end of audition season. But there's not there's not much there. I mean, I had the the we had the open calls for me and girls, yes, which was amazing. I also have never done a musical that's um I've never had an open call. I've gone, I've gone to open calls, like I've gone to tab auditions or stuff like that. Um, I've watched some open calls at musical fair, but I had not ever done a show where I was having an open call. And honestly, the things I've directed the past two years have been small and or like cast from reading. So merely was the last time I even did a callback of a certain size. So this was um this was amazing. Um, I didn't do much because again, it was a dance call predominantly, and then we kept people to sing. Um, but it was so fun to just like see like 65 people that just like want to do the show. Yeah, like that energy is just fun. And like Michael D. Weaver, who ran the choreography part, like I've watched him choreograph, but like I've not got to really watch him like teach if that makes sense.
SPEAKER_00And like, and like on an audition.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and like he clearly like he works at UB, he clearly is so good at his job, like the the joy that he was just radiating working with the people, and just like when you see someone who can teach dance in a succinct way, like it just like I wasn't doing the dance, but I was like, I could. Yeah, like this makes this makes sense to me what you're what you're saying, and he just made everybody feel great, and it was like and then people stayed and sang after. Um, and it was it was really fun again. Next upcoming Monday is the harder day for me. I have to like do a lot more. Um, but uh but even I said this to you in a text, it's not a hardship. I'm gonna have you know 30 something people come in and sing and read from Mean Girls the Musical to me. Like, oh my life is so hard. Like it's gonna be so much fun. Yeah, and I'm happy that we will it'll be done before we leave next week. I'm like it's like I'm I'm it'll be cast and things will be. I want to.
SPEAKER_00Wow.
SPEAKER_01I want to. As long as people show up.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Show up and do do good. Um, no, yeah, I would like to, I would be my hope to I mean, they'll have time to accept their offers and whatnot, but I would I would like to ha no leaving Monday night or early Tuesday morning, like what I want to do.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah. But we'll see. I know. Yeah, so this is the end of audition season, really. Yeah. I mean, for yeah, for the most part. Yeah, I have uh callback on this Wednesday for the last, well, the second to last show of musical fair season. Yeah. Um you're already in the last one. I'm already in the last one. Um but yeah. It's we weird now that we have like an actual audition season, because I feel like Buffalo has never No, but it is kind of all happening. All happening at once. It has to.
SPEAKER_01Correct. And pr and particularly because like particularly the the larger musicals, like for the most part. You know, after we cast Mean Girls and after they you all um like after they cast the wedding singer, um that will be uh the every show every musical 710 will be the done then. Wow. Which is like six of them. Yeah. So that's a lot. That is a lot. Um and then like you know, other stuff, but um for the most part that's that's it's a lot. So it's stressful, but it's almost it's almost almost done. When do the Ardy noms come out?
SPEAKER_00I was just wondering this. Do you think they're come gonna come out this week?
SPEAKER_01I think they're gonna come out on on Monday or Tuesday.
SPEAKER_00Like the day this is released? I think so. Should we talk about our predictions?
SPEAKER_01Okay. Well, no, um, the only only thing I will I will say is um um only thing I will say, I was listening to theater talk today and uh Tony and Peter Hall were talking about it, and he said they're like, oh, it's a busy week. He mentioned already voting, which to me says that it's coming. Last year, they came out the day after Headwick closed, and Pure Glitter closes the same day. They came out the Monday. Um, but they could potentially be a little it could be Tuesday or Wednesday. So we'll find out. I'm excited to see what you get nominated for. Um, and I am excited we'll see for the first time in a while. Like I the last two years, I was so um, I think I just like cared a lot. And not that I don't care, but like, especially with a play, there's so many more plays. I'm excited to watch them and I have no expectations about the play I did, the work I did. I hope good things for everyone involved in the production, mainly for the actors and everybody else. Like, I just like I don't like I if if my name happens to get called, that will be lovely, but like I'm not concerned in a weird way. Like, whereas the last two years I was very invested in like what people thought of those productions and my work, and now and this just I guess comes with the confidence of doing it. It's like I know I did a good job, and so I'm like, okay, yeah, like I hope you like it. Yeah, but if you don't like it, that's okay too. That's that's that's okay because it doesn't change what I did, which was something that I learned after after last year. Yeah, that was uh I I I feel much more at peace. Again, I'm so excited to to see my hear people's names, and I hope I hear a lot of my friends' names, but I'm not, I don't know. I just like it was a really I can't control it.
SPEAKER_00It was a really good season this season.
SPEAKER_01Particularly musical.
SPEAKER_00There's a lot, yeah. And plays too, I feel like there's you know, so we'll see how the cards fall. We'll see what shakes loose here. Uh-huh. But other I guess we can uh whoa, this is a long segment.
SPEAKER_01Whoa, whoa, whoa, we'll we'll wrap it up. Well, it's a season for that. Yeah. Okay. Okay, we will be right back. And we're back. So, um, I think the next thing we wanted to talk about was sort of because we you're not gonna hear from well, you'll you'll certainly hear from us if you're hearing from us. If you follow us online. But we're gonna be taking a little bit of a break. So we're kind of gonna just talk about what's going on this summer, what we're doing, wedding, some some wedding affiliated things. So I guess we should probably start with the fact that we go to Miami next week.
SPEAKER_00We literally go to Miami and once this when this is released, we will have what three days until we leave. It's crazy. And our flight's at 6 a.m.
SPEAKER_01Six a.m. That's the other that's the other thing I said to the Airbnb guy. I go, our flight got moved up. Let us in. Yes, yes, yes. Um, we're trying to get into the Airbnb early. We need to do something about 10 a.m. checkout but four p.m. check-in. Yes. What do you mean? What's happening? What's happening? Six hours. I don't believe you. It takes six hours to clean. I mean, maybe our Airbnb after after after we leave, but that's not like what are you what are you doing for that whole time? Right. Also, 10 a.m. is a crazy checkout time. That is crazy.
SPEAKER_00Oh, especially after like being out on Saturday.
SPEAKER_01So we're going to club space on Saturday. Um, and so I haven't showed I haven't showed you the full itinerary. There's nothing in there you can't really see, but um uh one of the new What time are we going? Uh my plan is because that's the boat day. So the boat, so I can give you all a little preview. So this uh the third day of the trip, we have rented a a yacht. I keep calling it boat, and the listing says yacht, so now I'm just calling it a yacht. Oh, it is a yacht. The yacht. Um we Derek keeps calling it the cruise ship. Well, he's not going, so um there was I will share this. This is actually funny. We were in the uh there's a group chat that we will add you to once we're there. We've just been it's predominantly been for like planning and stuff and like me reminding people that they need to pay. Um and we were talking about uh uh portable speakers. Oh yes. And like how like we like need those. And then someone was like, Oh, I have one. Someone was like, I have one, and Matthew just goes, just put the phone in oomps hole and it'll echo enough. And then he tried to like, he went to like tag Derek, and then he was like, I went to like at Derek and I realized he's not in this chat anymore. And it was just the gif of like Vicky falling to the ground when she finds out her mother is dead.
unknownOh my god.
SPEAKER_00Is my brother in this chat? No, okay, good.
SPEAKER_01I've like chat with him on WhatsApp. Yeah, okay, okay.
SPEAKER_00So he's relaying the information.
SPEAKER_01Correct, correct. Um, you're I um uh but so we are getting on a boat. So that or yeah, so that day, the itinerary each Friday and Saturday mornings has like breakfast from like nine to eleven. And Matthew was like, that's bold. I go, Well, it's not like mandatory. It's just like you need something in there. I go, really, what breakfast from nine to eleven means is that by 11, get your ass up. Yes. Like that's really what that means. Yeah. Um, and so then we're gonna take uh we're gonna then go, we have to be at the marina, I think, by 11:30, but it's not too far from where we are. And then um we will get on the boat. But so then that's until five. Then we're gonna take the marine, then we're gonna go be back to the house, I'd say, by like six. The plan is I'm gonna have food ordered in that time because we're all gonna be messed up. And then we're not gonna leave until like 11. So we'll we'll eat, take a nap, pre-game, whatever you need to do, because our space tickets are entry before 1 a.m., which is crazy. Okay. Um, but so yeah, so we can enter anytime before.
SPEAKER_00And these are just regular tickets, right?
SPEAKER_01Yes. Okay. Because there was no like tables. It would have been, yeah, it was not um uh at a certain at a certain point it was not fiscally responsible. Um uh also they um I did reach out and they never responded. Um but then but then but we the reason we wanted a table originally was because if there's no event, getting in's a little different, I think. But because there was a ticketed event, just buying that ticket means like we know we'll get in.
SPEAKER_00Oh yes.
SPEAKER_01So uh and also John Mayer's head, the DJ is amazing.
unknownGreat.
SPEAKER_01Seems like it just happened to be the one that we're there for. He's like, that guy's like one of the most like um famous people whatever. So I was like, okay, all right. Um, but I did put a note on the itinerary saying, for those of you who may be uh uh you know really embracing the full club space experience, please pack before we leave. Smart. Because like we're gonna have to be out at 10, which is which is crazy.
SPEAKER_00Crazy. What time is our flight home? 220.
SPEAKER_01Oh, okay. So actually, that is fine. Yeah. Yeah. Some people are on at 6 p.m. Which is great, but I'm like, when are you gonna when are you gonna what are you gonna do?
SPEAKER_00Like yeah, where are you gonna go?
SPEAKER_01Like I love like I love that for them, but like you where are you gonna where are you gonna put your shit?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Because at some point, like you still have to be out at 10. It's not like you can sleep in.
SPEAKER_01Exactly. It's always so it's like, yeah, it will be, we will feel terrible.
SPEAKER_00But at least we can go to the airport and you know, like correct, have a couple more drinks.
SPEAKER_01Correct. Something else that Sean already knows about, so I feel fine to talking about, and I want other people to know us because it's so funny, and this reminds me I have to take the wig. Um his wig. We are doing Night of a Thousand Shawn's. Um, and the reason why Sean knows about this as a true Leo, it was his idea. Um, and so we are all dressing up as different versions. I actually did follow up as a couple people who haven't told me what they're being, but they are funny. Are they? I picked I I picked mine first before I let anybody know. Good. So I'm happy, I'm happy with mine. It's like simple but funny. The wigs are atrocious. Um they are from Timu. Uh love. But they honestly, the coloring is actually it's a little darker than yours, but the coloring's correct. The style is just like not. It's giving very like turn the wigs around. Um but I'm pumped about that. Um, I'm very excited. So that's I'm excited to see the ones I know are good, and there are a couple that I'm curious of like what they're gonna do. The person with Tarzan, it is so funny. I am so excited about it. And it made me realize I have an extra red uh wig. Perfect. I'll put it on. Well, that's exactly because that person is not gonna wear a red wig, they're gonna wear the Tarzan lace front. That person has the lace front, honey.
SPEAKER_00That's crazy.
SPEAKER_01The the rest of us are in hard fronts, yeah. And that wig, the Tarzan wig is styled. Oh, she is ready. Crimped. I take it some wig, some wig caps for ever for everybody. I'm dead. So you know what? We're really, we're really ready, ready to go. I cannot believe we're going on my bachelor party. No. Do you feel like I feel there's no secrets? I just what I've been trying to do is like not tell you everything. I there's a lot that I don't know. Okay, that's good. I don't know the itinerary. I don't like being kept in the dark. Like me being like, if I if I was you, like, I want to know what's going on. And also there's no need to know every single moment because you're just gonna be there and living it.
SPEAKER_00Yes. And the big things I are like things I wanted to do. And you already know that. You know what I mean? Do I know? So it's it's yeah. Um, but yeah, no, I like this really means that like the wedding is soon. I know. It's crazy. It really is like the kickoff of that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Because it's gonna be that, then you're having your engagement party, and then it's the so it's like these like it's gonna be here before I know it.
SPEAKER_00And like it's so I'm so excited for it, but I'm also like so stressed. Yeah. Because I was for the shareholders, I was telling Michael before, I was showing him I'm making all of my invites. They're gorgeous. Like myself. Like, I designed them, I printed them here at my own printer. I bought like really nice cardstock from.
SPEAKER_01Slave a couple and bring them to the wedding because you're going to need pictures of them. Yes. And give them to me or someone else because you will not be one to be bothered when they're prepping for photos saying where's the invite. Yeah, yeah. I'll remind you of this later, but you're gonna.
SPEAKER_00But yeah, so like I'm doing a lot of the the things for the wedding myself. Like, I'm also gonna order fake flowers because I'm not I'm not paying thousands of dollars for a florist when like I honestly can do a lot of it myself. And fake flowers because I can do it ahead of time and I can set them in my living room for three months, and you know what I mean? So I'm gonna do all the centerpieces, I'm gonna do like you know, the aisle markers and things like that. Um, but like I I feel like I have so much to do.
SPEAKER_01But you still have a decent amount of time. I do have a lot of time. I do. I did tell my boss, so this is a a thing for you. I was like, uh, because like that when you get married is like the beginning of our like busy season. I was like, I might have to take some time to help. So if you need help that week, I uh oh, I probably will, yeah. But I because I just like gave my boss a heads up. I was like, this week, like I may need to take some days to just like be present to like help my best friend um with his like with last minute stuff. You're just like, I need we have to go pick up this or I need to go make this. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So um, I'm also planning on making like the the seating chart myself. Like I have I have a design in mind, yeah. And like I think I want to do this cool thing where I have like either old vintage like paintings that I get from like savers or goodwill or something, and put like vinyl over them to say like A through E and then like everyone's name and table number. But I want to make like a big wooden wall basically and hang the pictures. Oh, I like that, you know? Yeah. So I have big dreams. So like each painting would be a table? Well, each painting would be I'm doing like we we decided we don't want to do like table numbers because then people don't know their table number. Well, it's easier if you find like if it's by alphabet, like last name, you know. So I'm we're gonna do last names A through F and then list them, and then next to their name will be the table number. That's what you mean by you're not doing table numbers.
SPEAKER_01Yes, I understand. You don't yes, yes, for the sign. Looking for a number, yes.
SPEAKER_00You you want them to look for their name and then they find and then they find what table they go to, as opposed to to seeing table one and a list of names because like people are like, No, I do think that and I feel like more people are doing that. It's just easier. It's easier because I've been to weddings where they do both, and the people what the the weddings where like Yes, the weddings where like it says last name, it's like oh, I know my last name. Correct R. Table seven. Great, move on.
SPEAKER_01I'm still not used to like looking for my like like Gilbert is so much earlier. It's so much earlier in the alphabet, but I'm still not the first time I experienced that, I think was the disaster callin sheet. I was like, I was I I mean I I immediately went to sign my initial and I was like, huh? It's like where am I? And I was like, oh, I'm I'm G. Also going back to our nominations always trips me up too now. Because I always wait, I always expect my name last. Oh I always expect to hear like what car we have because they it's by it's by it's by last name. You shot it. So I I always expect any sort of nomination thing. I'm like, oh well, if they're gonna call my name, it's always gonna be at the end. Yeah. And then I'm like, huh? What? Yeah. But then it's even worse. You were just getting all the deliveries today. Hey Diva. I know. Um so okay, so that's that's that. And then what other summer? I mean, we got Pride then, which is crazy.
SPEAKER_00Which I still haven't I haven't bought. Sorry, Vanna. I haven't bought any tickets or anything. We'll change like this. We'll I know.
SPEAKER_01We are seeing Truesdale. Yes, which I'm very excited about rec room.
SPEAKER_00Very excited for that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I mean, there's a lot of Pride events that we gotta look at. Yeah. I don't know if you're gonna be here. I do kind of want to go to the lip sync SmackDown. When is that? I think it's the 20th. I don't know if you're here. Oh, I'll be here. Yeah, I think it's a Sunday. I didn't go last year, but everyone said it was amazing. It's the one they had at like okay good bar. Let's go. They literally do it like it's kind of like the the um the episode that we saw. Drag race, did you see what they're doing this Sunday? The Vanna roast? The roast of Anna do. Yeah. That's funny.
SPEAKER_00That is funny.
SPEAKER_01Um should we go? I kind of I kind of want to go because it's the roast of vanna. I know.
SPEAKER_00This is coming out in the future, or it's coming out like it will have already happened. So I kind of I'm also pissed that I wasn't asked to be a guest judge for the musical episode.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, what what the fuck?
SPEAKER_00What the hell? Do they ask like non-wigged folk? Well, they need to. Oh T.
SPEAKER_01T.
SPEAKER_00Um Drag Race does. They don't bring drag queens on to be guest judges. Jamal Sims. Uh-huh. Um the Jamal Sims of Buffalo.
SPEAKER_01And I've been saying. Yeah. I've been saying.
SPEAKER_00Everyone knows it.
SPEAKER_01Everyone knows. Unfortunately, I might be the hilarious Ross Matthews of Buffalo. Honestly, am I Carson Cressley? Is that us? Is that us? Is that us? Oh, Jesus. Oh god. Oh god. Local, local blouse Ross Ross Matthews. Um, that is that might be us, actually. No, I have to be Jamal Sims. Yeah. Well, you gotta be, yeah, because at least like I don't know. Carson is plucked, plucked and pulled. Yeah. Jamal just looks great. Yeah. Yeah, we'll check. I kind of I do kind of want to go. We're not doing any like closing party or anything on Sunday. So the ladies said go home. The ladies said go home. Um, I think it's mainly the six hours of me and girls callbacks the next day. But yeah, let's we'll we'll chat. Maybe maybe we should go. It's nice because it's like kind of early. They do it at like seven. Seven. So okay. Yeah, but they never start until Well, I feel like they were relatively prompt, but that's because Brita was there. Yeah. We did see Brita Brita filter at the last time. Um wow, we really got off topic. Um summer. Back to summer.
SPEAKER_00Oh, you have what a bunch of weddings, you said. Bunch of weddings. Um what else? I'm not going on any vacations. You guys are We're going to Alaska.
SPEAKER_01Yes. Yeah, that's the yeah, that's but honestly, that's which is fine. I don't really have that. Like, that's the only vacation. Normally there's like more little shorts. Like, we're I think it's because we're going on this trip, which feels like summer. Like we're like kind of kick kicking off summer with the bachelor's trip. Yeah, Matt and I are going to visit my sister-in-law um in Alaska. We leave August, I think, 5th and come back the following. We leave on a Wednesday and come back the following Friday night. So we're gone for like 11 days, I think. Um that's gonna be so nice. It's so funny because um, so you had sent me a text about that gay bar. What's it called? Um, Mad Myrnas. Mad Myrna's. Yeah. So we're my husband was talking, and when we leave, we flying out of Anchorage. When we get there, we're just getting a rental car and driving about an hour and a half to um Cooper's Landing where um Sarah lives. Uh, but um when we leave, when we leave on Friday, our flight is super early that morning. So we are going to go to Anchorage the day before and just like do a whole day in Anchorage so that that way we got an Airbnb able to just wake up. It's like right next to the airport.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01But because we'll still have a have a rental car. We were looking at it and he goes, Oh my god, Sarah just sent me this bar that we have to go to, and it was Mad Myrna's. I guess she knows some of the drag performers. Oh and I need to see what's going on at Mad Myrna's. Oh, are you getting it? Are you getting it? I'm not getting it. I'm not getting it. Um, so I will give you an update on Mad Murnah. Please do.
SPEAKER_00I haven't been there in almost 10 years. You text you tech'd Cinderella there, right? I tech and opened Cinderella in Alaska. There were some tax credits there, baby. Honestly. And it was like we were so we were there for like three and a half weeks.
SPEAKER_01Honestly, it's a very smart place to do that because to get to Alaska is very challenging. So, like, might as well do your like a like a like a larger four-week situation there because you're gonna you know do your final tech rehearsals, open whatever, as opposed to just randomly going up to Alaska for a week. It's probably a lot more involved in like the hauling of stuff up there.
SPEAKER_00Yes, yeah, yeah. It was worth it because we were there. It but it was quite odd because we tech's in one theater and then we opened in a different theater. It was all, I think it was all, if I'm remembering correctly, it was all in the same space. Like complex. Complex, but we performed in a different theater than we tech'd in. Were the sizes comparable? At least at the stage? The audio the house was actually big this yes, the stage was the same. Um, but the audience was bigger in the performance menu. And I was like actually shocked because we were we performed there for a week, so eight shows, and the houses were like full, and I'm like, are there that many people in Alaska?
SPEAKER_01I do think though there is so I was listening to a podcast and it was a guy, it was uh he was talking about wicked coming to Hawaii, and shows don't go to like Alaska and Hawaii all the time, yeah. And so I do think there's a level of like this is what we're doing. Yeah, like I feel like there's probably a lot of engagement from the community because it's probably rare that they get I guess this might I might be so wrong on this. This might I'm not trying to make it sound like there's no there's no culture, it's just like it's it's not as easy as going from Buffalo to Cleveland, yeah. On like you know, bringing a whole tour to go up to Alaska, just you have to you have to know you're gonna get a certain amount of compensation, like as the the company to to make it happen and you'll have the sales, so yeah, they must.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but it was an incredible experience. So you'll love this. Is your first time?
SPEAKER_01This is my first time. Yeah, Matt's been before. He I did to tell him, I go, like, I want to do whatever. I go, I am down for like one big hike up a mountain. I go, I'm not doing that every day.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Oh, yeah. So you're going in August. So I'm interested to hear like how it is because we went in like late October, early November, and it was like we barely got daylight.
SPEAKER_01So we are, I guess, at sort of right at the cusp of it. There's one place that Matt said we can go where it does it's uh uh sunny all day right now. That's insane. So yeah, I'm interested, and again, it looks I mean it looks gorgeous. I'm so pumped to go, and it really wasn't that expensive. Like our two flights, I think we're like we're flying Delta. I think our two flights were like together twelve hundred dollars. Oh wow, okay. And then like the rental car was more. The rental car for that entire time is thirteen hundred dollars. That's actually insane. But Sarah, my sister-in-law, was like, you need to book it now. She goes, because we don't have like the Anchorage Airport does not have like unlimited rental cars in the way that you know Dallas or somewhere else does. And so he was like, You need to like she's like, you need to book it right now. That's I'm concerned for what the price would be in a month. Yeah. Because I booked this like two months ago.
SPEAKER_00That's crazy.
SPEAKER_01Um, but yeah, I for I couldn't I forgot, but yeah, I'm going to Alaska, which will be fun. But then then it's basically your wedding.
SPEAKER_00Then it's the wedding.
SPEAKER_01Then we come back, and it's just like, oh, okay.
SPEAKER_00Chilling. It's chilling thought.
SPEAKER_01It's so it's all happening so fast. It's gonna feel so the other day you shared it was like the year since you had been engaged, and I was like, what the fuck?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we're less than four months out from the wedding. Um but luckily we have so we still have the engagement party, which I'm excited for. Um'd which is crazy because like we've been engaged for over a year, but we're doing so But you're not doing a shower, yeah.
SPEAKER_01So that because that's I was I was explaining the same thing to Celine. I was like, she was asking if you're doing a shower, and I was like, no, but they're doing sort of a delayed engagement party, which is sort of and it's like the family and the party, and like it kind of it's kind of is that yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Um but yeah, so we'll see how that goes. It's gonna be fun. I like I like the barrel the barrel factory, yeah.
SPEAKER_01And it's open bar, so I actually am going to a wedding, uh wedding. I don't know if it's a wedding. I think Kathleen, I think, I think, I think you're a shareholder. You're you're listening. Um, it's my friend Kathleen who you met at the Bills game. She's engaged, and they're like having this like engagement party at the barrel factory on my birthday. Oh, but also sh she kind of was like, Well, like it's an engagement party, but like I don't know are we ever gonna have a wedding? So, like, this might be it. Oh, it's basically just like a celebration of them because like they live in the city and they might just go to the court like I don't I don't know what they're doing. But so um that's I'll be at the barrel factory. I mean it's a gorgeous venue. Yeah, so I'm pumped. I'm pumped. Um there was something else I was gonna say about your wedding is upcoming. It's just gonna be crazy when it's done. I know. Like, what do you mean you're just done and married? Honestly, I can't wait. What else are we gonna do? No, I'm kidding.
SPEAKER_00Truly. But it's just it's a lot of work. It's I don't recommend planning a wedding. Hopefully, I only have to do this once.
SPEAKER_01Now hopefully. Damn. But you I think you're doing a very good job. Listen, I'm not saying I think when you first told me were you engaged before you moved into this house? No, you weren't. No. No. What? No, you were. No, have you been in this house for two years in August? Yeah. That's crazy. Okay, so you weren't. Um actually, so no, I take back what I was gonna say. You you had just I think when if you had told me three years ago that you were gonna do all of this DA DIY stuff for your wedding, I probably would have told you that you were a psychopath. But yeah, after you moved into this house and you did so much work in the house, like these wonderful walls that were standing behind, I had always had confidence that you could do that stuff. And had you told me before, yes.
SPEAKER_00And one thing I've learned about myself, especially in my I was gonna say older age, but like my my 30s, I I feel like I'm good at learning new skills.
SPEAKER_01Listen, I I don't want to spill her tea, but she sent me a video of her playing the guitar. Pussy. I was gagged. So good. I was like, what do you mean you whatever.
SPEAKER_00Anyway, I was shocked. No, it's I mean, well, that's the thing. Like when I have my mind set on doing something, I feel like I it's probably the Leo in me. You're a very locked-in person.
SPEAKER_01Yes. Like you, if you decide you want to do something, I'm gonna do it. You're not gonna do it poorly. Yes. Then you just oftentimes decide you do not want to do it.
SPEAKER_00Correct. Well, yes. Because if if I know I can't do it or I I will not do it well, I'm not gonna do it.
SPEAKER_01I had this conversation with my father about golf, because when I was when I was younger, he always tried to get me to play golf with him. And I was just not good. And he really wanted to do it with me, and we would like go and play together, and like he would make me do lessons, and like eventually I had to sit down and be like, Dad, I'm not good at this. Would you want to continue to do something that you're bad at? And he was like, You ate that. Not you ate that. He didn't say that, but and I never had to do it again. Although I do have a one golf trophy, we won longest drive because I had like a halfway decent hit, and my dad, you know.
SPEAKER_00Longest drive.
SPEAKER_01Listen. For the worst driver I know.
SPEAKER_00That's crazy.
SPEAKER_01You piece of shit. I recounted this story to Celine because I don't even know if you remember the way the way you said it. I met you out at the casino a couple a couple weeks ago. Uh-huh. And you were a little tipsy and you were you were very adamant, obviously, that you were not driving your vehicle. And I had just come from tech, and I was like, Well, I can drive your car, we're fine. Um, and so we go out, it's the truck, and like no one's really driven the truck except for you. And you like summoned the spirit of Celine in college in a way that I've like not seen in years, where like you looked at me, we were getting in the car, and you were like, just be really careful with her, like the truck. And I was like, Yeah, I will. And you were like, because you're a terrible driver. And I wasn't even mad because it was so funny because it's exactly the way that Celine used to say things like that to me. Where she literally would just would would just would just be like, Well, that looks terrible. And I'm just like, it was so funny. Also, did you die? No, no, you did not. Got that shit through the Taco Bell drive-thru, too.
SPEAKER_00You sure did. Not easy, you sure did. And I was so drunk that I were I literally didn't even eat it until the next morning.
SPEAKER_01Do you remember they handed me the bag and I went, whoa, and you went, not too much.
SPEAKER_00You says, Oh, that's heavy. And I said, Okay, settle down.
SPEAKER_01But I was proud I drove the truck without it. Rides really easily.
SPEAKER_00Yes, yeah.
SPEAKER_01It's quite, it's it's quite high. It is very high. It is very high. But um, okay, so should we take a break and come back? Yeah, let's do it. Okay. And we're back with our titular segment. Titular. The final time for now. Uh-huh. For this season. Wow, it's gonna miss not talking to you. I'm kidding. I'm gonna talk to you out right now. You all, oh, there's no more camera. You all won't won't won't be able to hear this. Um, you'll just have to follow along. Do you want to go first? Um or do you want me to go first? You could go first. Okay. I feel like I always go first. Okay, that's fair. That's fair. Um okay. I have a fake one, and I'm gonna give you my my real one. Mary, did you know that I love you? This has been so much fun. This has been so much fun. It has been very fun. It has been very fun. This is not my like my like real thing, but I've just like it's been so much fun to just like do this formally.
SPEAKER_00I know, because I feel like we've talked about this for a while. A while, yeah. Um, really, ever since that's trash, I was like, how do I how do I become a co-host? And then I don't know. I feel like this just kind of came at the right point.
SPEAKER_01It feels very right, and I'm glad that people are enjoying it anyway. I just wanted to say that because it's been really, really nice. I love you too. Anyway, um, Mary, did you know? So, do you know how we were talking about Taylor Swift's wedding? Yes. And who was gonna be invited? Yes. I love when like she just like puts little things out like this. So, Mary, did you know that she was just at dinner celebrating Lena Dunham's birthday? Yes. Do you remember how I was talking about how I was like I was like so concerned about the Jack Antonoff thing of it all? I love that she. So, like, I didn't watch all of the show that Lena Dunham did with Meg Stalter. It was on Netflix, it's called like Too Much or something like that. I didn't know. It was based on her breakup with Jack Antinoff. And she meets this British guy who ends up being her current husband, but the there's this like young model who's played by Emily Rajikowski. Do you know who she is? She's like a model, anyway. She's good friends with Taylor and Lena. And so it killed me that like in the photo is Lena Dunham, Andrew Randles, Taylor Swift, Emily, I can't say her last name, and like her boy, her husband. Oh, wow. And so I was just like, oh, this is just confirmation. Like Lena had some notes in her book basically implying that her and Taylor are still very good friends, but I just like it when she occasionally is just like, yeah, yeah, I love this person and work. Yeah. And I also was like, I would die to hear the Andrew Rannels-Taylor Swift conversation. Because they were next to each other. That's crazy. I want to know what that combo was. And I guess he's the one that posted that photo. And he shared it, being like, Hey Lena, thanks. Like it was like he shared a happy birthday thing for her, and it was like, also, thanks for taking this photo so that like my like, you know, kids think I'm cool. I'm dead.
SPEAKER_00I was like, that's um very so she's been wearing like a lot of people are reading into her wardrobe.
SPEAKER_01She's just getting married.
SPEAKER_00I really is wearing a lot of white.
SPEAKER_01I don't think there's anything behind it. People are being very weird. Yeah. I think every everyone's like, something's coming. I was like, her wedding. Well, yeah, I don't think it has anything to do with it. She's wearing a lot of lace and a lot of like sort of like negligé type things, and white.
SPEAKER_00So it's it is interesting, and I'm sure like she's smart enough to know that like people are gonna read into everything she wears, and I do think she does think about that. Certainly. So, like when she was in London, she wore nothing but black. And then when she was in New York, it's all nothing but white, it's all white. Which she's getting a wedding and she's doing a like a New York wedding.
SPEAKER_01I know, but like, do you think it's like London is dead, baby? London's dead, baby. I do think that also the rumor is that the wedding invitations have no location and that people are just gonna get picked up. That would be in that everyone's gonna get picked up individually, but the dates on there, but there's no location. Which makes sense. I know. Well, I'm gonna I'm gonna um post your thing and uh out you like like Ramona did Teresa. Um but I just I just love seeing that again. I've just been I've really been in a uh I've been re-watching Girls Now after I read Leon Dunham's book. I'm just really back in like a this woman is a genius mode. And um I just love that Taylor is like still in agreement on it. Only because I feel like there are people like also, this is this is my main take on it, and I almost quote tweeted this and wrote it on Twitter. I just am not in the mood recently to like it's almost getting to the level of like political fights where it's like I know that I love this woman and her music, and like I don't feel like fighting about it. Yeah, so it's like why am I gonna start fights? But I almost shared it because everyone always loves to be like, oh, you know, Taylor Swift's Mega, all this whatever bullshit. But I almost what I almost quote tweeted this photo of like Angela Randall's, Lena Dunham, always people like what I wanted to write was like, these are her friends.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_01Have you ever seen her with Britney Mahomes at something that I wouldn't call a work event?
SPEAKER_00Yes, right. It's right.
SPEAKER_01It's that, but that's the point where I was trying to get home. It's like, yes, is she associating with that woman who I really don't like and I really wish she wouldn't? Yeah. But I don't think that that person is her real friend. Correct. That is her fiance's best friend's wife. Yes. And that does not mean that they're your very good friend. And I think that, and again, this is very parasocial. I don't know these people, but I just feel like seeing seeing the post with Lena, I was like, that's a real friend. Yeah. That's someone who she still talks to, who she talks to on the phone. She was just out with um Ashley Avene or whatever her name is, who's like a longtime friend of hers. Like, these people are her friends. Yes. Like, you don't see her out in the town with fucking uh bucktooth woman. What the hell was it? What's her name? The woman. I can't remember her name. Who's the bucktooth woman? Patrick Mahomes' wife, Britney. Oh, Britney. She was just like, yeah, um, but like you don't see her out with her. Like, that's a work friend. Right. That's a husband's work friend. Yes. Yeah. Anyway, that's just like that. I really wanted to get that out there, but I was like, I saying it here is better than writing it because people are fucking insane. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Um, so and also she's just she has been very vocal in the past about her political beliefs. Correct. And now she's just at a point where like she knows that no matter what she does, she's gonna get torn apart.
SPEAKER_01There's literally a quote from her because people are like, why didn't she make a public statement saying that Trump needed to stop using her music? Well, I'm sure she sent them a cease and desist because they stopped using her music.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And um also she there's a quote from the Life of a Showgirl Press Tour where she basically says, People try to goat me. Like they like they they they want to pick a fight with me. There's this like singer whose name is like Eli or something who had this wrote this open letter to Taylor Swift. Oh, yes. And again, I'm not saying that what that person put in their letter is wrong in terms of like people are not getting paid from streaming, but it's like and number one, anyone who writes an open letter is I just think that's I think an open behavior is loser behavior. Yeah, like so. Number one, either like you know, you're in the music industry, you probably can't get her number, but you can probably get someone in her team's number. Yeah. So it's like if you really want to open a dialogue, how about you open a dialogue? Right. And and this goes for many people in other com in other communities that we may be a part of. Say something to someone, don't just post it on Facebook. Yep. Um, but that's not real. And we're losing the ancient text. Do we not forget how 1989 was not put on Apple Music because she they weren't paying artists during the free trial period? Like we've been through this, and her deal she signed with Universal, Universal is divesting from Spotify, and as a part of her agreement, they have to pay artists a percentage of that money. So it's like you are just not paying attention. Yes. Yeah. Anyway, that's my soapbox on that. And that's T.
SPEAKER_00And that's T. And what do you have, sister? Okay. Okay, we're going to mine. Um so you don't even know this, and I no one knows this except Josh. Um, but Mary, did you know I'm going to grad school? You are?
SPEAKER_02What?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. What? I'm gonna get my master's.
SPEAKER_02What?
SPEAKER_00Business administration.
SPEAKER_02Wait, work!
unknownWait, I didn't know.
SPEAKER_00I was saying no, you said that you said that no one knows this. Yeah. Yeah. I start class in one week.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Is it online?
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_01How often? Well, it's so I'm taking So yeah, give me the wait, number one, amazing. Love that for you. Thank you. Thank you. I feel like this makes sense. You you know, you you uh can help you in your career. You're already sort of involved in these you're already sort of there in terms of like it's the people you're around all the time. Um so what's the what's the program situation?
SPEAKER_00So I'm doing it through UB, obviously.
SPEAKER_01It would be wild if you weren't.
SPEAKER_00Could you imagine? Yes. No, um I I there's several factors into why I'm doing this, but um the main one is because UB is paying for half of it.
SPEAKER_01Oh, that's incredible. Um so I I have They always say like never pay full price for grad school.
SPEAKER_00No, I wouldn't, and I wouldn't. Um, but for right now, they're paying 50%. I think ultimately I would like to, you know, continue my career with UB and move to a different position. And if I'm like a state, because right now I'm not state, I'm UB Foundation, which is like one of the state jobs. Yes. And if I move to the state job, they would pay 100% of it. So you know what I mean. So like the fact that I'm in the program right now is even more like it looks better for me if I were to move to how many years is the program? Two.
SPEAKER_01Oh my god, amazing.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and it's fully online, it's fully like self-paced as well. So it's like I don't have to do like a thesis or anything. Um it's I mean, we'll see how it goes.
SPEAKER_01But wait, that's amazing.
SPEAKER_00Yes, I'm taking two classes a semester. I'm doing a summer semester starting next week. Um starting next week is crazy. Is yeah, I know. I know. Um see ya on Monday or on the tattoos. Right, right. Um but yeah, so we'll we'll see how it goes. But I got accepted and I paid my deposit and I'm registered for my classes. That's amazing. You really kept this under wraps. I did, I did. I didn't tell anyone, and I was waiting for the right moment. Oh, I love that. Oh, that's this is the right moment.
SPEAKER_01Congrats! Thank you. I always say the biggest way for me to not go to grad school is to watch all my other friends do it. So basically, but maybe you'll make it seem easy.
SPEAKER_00I feel like I I don't know. I feel like I know other people in the program who are also like UB employees, and they have nothing but good things to say about it.
SPEAKER_01It makes a lot of sense for you.
SPEAKER_00Like I I I I see why you listen, I'm trying to make more money than what I make now. Correct. And I think something like this will it's the right path for you. And it's nice that it's at your own pace. Yes, it's all online. It's gonna be a lot of work, as if I don't have enough time already. I know it's gonna be a little crazy, but yeah.
SPEAKER_01But also it's good that it's at your own pace too, because you'll have times where you're in rehearsal where it'll be worse. You'll have times where you're not, and you can you can try to, you know, I know do more of the work when you're not than when you're in.
SPEAKER_00Correct. And two classes isn't terrible. Well, and it's one at a time, so it's like one class every seven weeks.
SPEAKER_01Oh, that's even oh, that's even that's like I'm in one class at a time. Oh, that's even better.
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_01Oh, so then they're not even simultaneous.
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_01Oh, that's even oh, okay, okay.
SPEAKER_00But it's basically taking like a full semester of work and putting it into seven weeks. So it's they say that it's like you're gonna devote like 15 to 20 hours a week for this class. And I'm like, well, I don't have that, but I'm gonna try. I'm gonna make it work. I guess I'll never see my sister again. I'll make it work. Damn. No, yeah, trust and believe. I think you'll I think you'll be as we said before. When I want something, I'm gonna do it.
SPEAKER_01That's crazy. Wow, an educated girl, an MBA, MBA. Damn. No, I'm gonna be the dumb one. You're gonna have more degrees than I do. Yeah. Well, I have two, but they're two bachelor ones, which is kind of like whatever. You're gonna you're gonna have a master's. Yeah. Damn. That's crazy.
SPEAKER_00But yeah, so that's my Mary. Did you know?
SPEAKER_01I'm really, I'm really gagged. And that's a wrap of season one. Not season one, mama. Little D. Heck come off. Okay, well, we'll catch y'all in the fall. We'll announce when we have like a real date. Um, it'll probably be at this point, probably October. October. Oh god, how many months? June, July, oh, but it's only four months. Um yeah, we'll probably plan October because Sean's getting married in September and he's leaving for two weeks. So we'll we'll get it in in October. And yeah, just when you're all coming back from all your fun and you're gonna be bored and in the house because the weather's shitty again. So we'll be here for you. So get ready. Get ready because we're coming back. We're coming back. Okay, you ready? Cheers.
unknownCheers.
