SPEAKER_01

Hello, we are live from Paris. At least one of us is.

SPEAKER_00

I was good. So we are not both live from Paris, Freds. I could confirm. I am live from Vacor, BC, at a very civilized time. You are so dedicated to the cause that you are up in the middle of the night reporting live from 3 a.m. Wow. You know who would never do anything like that? You. Me. I would never wake up in the middle of the night to record a podcast, but here we are. No one is as dedicated as Coach Cheyenne.

SPEAKER_01

That is also true. I'm a pretty hard worker.

SPEAKER_00

You slept for two hours and woke up to do this, and I was like, we could just pick it up civilized time.

SPEAKER_01

And you said no. Because like everyone's awake in North America. And it's just like perfect timing. People are driving home from work. I get a hey, are you awake? And I'm like, yeah. Anyways, um, welcome from the sidelines in from Paris and Vancouver. Um, I'm Coach Cheyenne. If you are brand new to this podcast, this is my brother Bauman. We want to welcome you. Thank you so much for joining us. And uh today it's gonna be a little bit of maybe like a little bit of a Paris edition on a few things. I have come to find out that my hotel is a five-minute walk from PSG's stadium, the soccer stadium. And another five minutes from there is the Roland Garrow Stadium. Like Burbs. Pardon? What would you say?

SPEAKER_00

I'm what you're you're in the burbs.

SPEAKER_01

Um, technically, it's not really in the burbs. It was from the heart. Um, I think it was like a 20-minute um I'm on the border, what my what my friend explained. Like, so like the heart of Paris, if it's like the core, I'm like right beside it. And the heart of Paris is actually quite small. So they it's like the neighboring town or city or whatever has the name and it's like Dash Paris. Right. So I found that quite interesting. That have you noticed how F1 isn't really in Miami? Well, that's actually in Fort Lauderdale, and then Roland Garros really isn't in Paris, it's like on like on the bordering thing, but I guess it's all part of the same thing. It's like saying some things in like Richmond, but it's really in Vancouver, but it's like greater Vancouver. You know how they always say that. Anyways, quite interesting. So I'm really excited. Um, it is 3 a.m. here in Paris, and I'm very excited that I am here to report all things sports to you guys. We're now doing weekly, so we gotta stick to the regiment. It's 6 p.m. Pacific, 9 p.m. Eastern. So hopefully people can like join the fun on all the stuff.

SPEAKER_00

It's 6 p.m. Pacific, 9 p.m. Eastern, and 3 a.m. Paris.

SPEAKER_01

Live. Live on YouTube and Instagram. Welcome. From the sidelines.

SPEAKER_00

What are you what are your plans when you're there? I haven't really even talked to you. What are you gonna do in town?

SPEAKER_01

Great question. You know, when I'm usually in these cities, I like hardcore to go with the flow. Um, I usually make zero plans, and then I just like you know, where does the wind take me? What's the plan happening? Who am I gonna meet? Where is it gonna happen? So today I got to go to Paris Soho House. That's my first one that I've been to. Um and how were they?

SPEAKER_00

How were the French?

SPEAKER_01

Actually, the Paris Soho House, like when you go in, it's not like oh my gosh, like you know how you hear about Soho is like beautiful and this and that. I would say inside is like nice, maybe but dated in certain parts, um, like as an older uh building, but um the vibe is young, like young. Um it gave me young go-getter entrepreneur energy, could be a creative um hustling, everyone's out with their laptops and all like the like the local social places on their computers. There wasn't like a crazy buzz, but what's really beautiful is as soon as you walk in, like the heart of I guess the restaurant is right there in the middle, and the roof opens up. And when I tell you today was sunny in Paris, like Paris and London sunny hard seems to beat. Oh, you know that video that I sent you of that girl that when the sunlight hits her, she was like, I just looked a little bit like a bum, just like a tad, had no makeup on, like just like came off the Euro star, and I really, really wanted to do that, but then I got too comfortable in Soho House and I couldn't be bothered with like you know, getting in the sun. Like, so I'm about to make that real, and you guys are gonna be shocked. Maybe a few of those coming, a few of those might be coming.

SPEAKER_00

You're right. Paris in the sun, and London in the sun is they're just such great wow, incredible.

SPEAKER_01

I landed in London and stood everybody went, Wow, I miss this place. Like, I haven't usually don't have that kind of like moment of like, oh my god, just like landing, first of all. I haven't even been anywhere. I really felt like, oh my god, London. And then as soon as I get onto the other side of the Eurosar and come out of the train station, have you had a second just to like look at how beautiful the train station is from the outside?

SPEAKER_00

I have it stuck.

SPEAKER_01

I don't remember it from 10 years ago. The last time I was in Paris was like 10 years. I don't really remember too many things, and it's gorgeous. And I just okay, so the things that I can tell you, we're gonna before we start sports. Straight away, the things that I noticed in Paris. Lululemon does not exist over here. Nobody's wearing tights. From your grandmother to the young girl to I don't know, the tourist. Um, I guess everyone's been told do not wear tights. Parisians, that's not the way they live. Your tights are probably for like the yoga that you're going to, and that's it. And from inside the Euro, sorry, if you don't know what that is, that's the train that takes you from London to Paris. It's two hours, it's super smooth. Um, and it goes actually under the water and comes out on the other side. And um from there, from inside there to coming out, the fashion, the style of people my mind, I think, was just so blown away that even when I was in the metro and I was like just sitting and looking at people. Even if you could not afford clothes, you were just styling it to like my mind was just being blown away. At that time, I really was hoping I had my meta glasses on because I wanted to take so many photos just to show like North Americans like we suck, we legit, but we are a bunch of slob kebabs. We are I felt embarrassed, and I was like, I'm a slob kebab in North America. I put zero effort in compared to the minimal effort they've put here, but the way they've all just styled like really baggy jeans and the Doc Martins and just everything.

SPEAKER_00

It's the fit, it's the fit, it's it's very inspiring.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, it is inspiring. So you better believe so so number one, the luminas exist in Paris is what I first first straight away. And I kind of had that idea, and you know how people always want to travel comfortable. So we always wear like the leggings, I actually wore jeans. I don't know. I came like mentally ready for Paris. I actually had a cute outfit on, I was ready for the people. Um, so straight away I had so that's the first thing I saw was no Lululemon. And if you didn't even have a cool outfit, if you were like 80, they had the coolest earrings on, they had the coolest glasses on, the shape, the color. I don't know. Everything was just incredible. And then when you're walking down the streets, maybe it's like the ancient architecture that's everywhere, but I feel like it's even more here than it is in London. I don't know. Every bit of my first three minutes of walking is actually insane. And I was like, this is dumb. I need to put my phone away because I keep freaking out that someone's gonna grab my phone and run. Um so people are a bit like aware of that over here too. Even if you're local, they're definitely seeing it on the trains. I don't remember them saying that before, but they're definitely like, hey, be aware of pickpocketers, and you're just like super aware of that everywhere you're going. Um and there's a lot more like police present, not like with heavy guns and things, but just like definitely in the metro, I saw tons in different areas, and in the main station that we get out, um, a Eurostar tons. Yep. Good. And I was like, okay, cool. Like just having their presence around is also quite nice. You can ask them for directions and things too.

SPEAKER_00

Because before, before they never had that, and feel like people they need the intimidation factor. Also, it wasn't that bad ever before, where the people are snatching it out of your hands, you know, like it's gotten worse.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. So I feel very inspired to sort my wardrobe out. And um, hopefully, when I come back to Vancouver, I'm gonna rock the crazy outfits and people can stare all they want. Um, that's how I just felt. I felt like we are just a little bit.

SPEAKER_00

Trust me when I tell you, trust me when I tell you, I've thought this many times after coming home from Paris and London, and I thought I'm gonna step it up, and then you come home and you just because you know what it is? No, what it is is we can't find it here to step it up. So unless you already have it in your wardrobe or you get it from elsewhere, we our markets aren't catered to that stuff. So it's too hard to find unless you're thrifting it, going to vintage shops, or like really searching for it. But if you but to be fair, you could still do the Zara and Uniqlo and that stuff and just pair it really well. They just style it well. They pick, yeah, it's the fit for them. It looks so good.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's like also a lot of like not jaggedy things, but like really puffy pants with a really cool, yeah, it was just like amazing. Um, maybe I'll try and take some pictures to like show everybody what I'm talking about. But speaking about um Paris and PSG and Paris Saint-Germain and me being five minutes away from the stadium, which I will go check out. I'm not quite sure if I'll do a tour of it or maybe just take a bunch of Sluffies outside, not sure yet. Um, they are in the Champions League. I just wanted to make everyone aware. I will unfortunately miss the Champions League in Paris and miss the Champions League in London with Arsenal. And I just want to say that timing of one day here and one day there is very frustrating for me right now. So, who is PSG gonna play? They're gonna play Bayern Munich, which is gonna be an insane battle. People over here are already like I was hanging out with one of my friends yesterday. He's like, Oh, PSG's gonna win it all. I'm like, can you just give Arsenal a chance? Can we just get one chance? He's like, honestly, you guys lost to Man City yesterday. Like, what are you doing? Can you at least try and win the Premier League? Like, are you forcing yourselves not to win? So the heads up to you, bun, is that devastating news. Arsenal played Man City on Sunday. It was a big, big match because in the Premier League they're very close in points. And I'm not gonna lie, I wasn't asking for much. I was even happy with the draw. Getting one point was gonna be fine. The fact that we gave Man City three points and we got zero points in return is extremely frustrating. And the whole soccer world, the football world, and other parts of the world, aka Paris, are also telling me what happens to Arsenal? Why do you guys freak out when it's time to just like close it and win? And I'm like, we just make it hard on ourselves every time we get close. So they they compromise the Parisian fans. We're like, they compromise. They said, but we aren't interested in you winning Champions League because we will, but at least try and win the Premier League, please. And I'm like, I know I want to win both, thanks. Like, I want to win Premier League and Champions League. You guys have won enough. We just need a break. So PSG plays Bayern Munich. Um, the match is on Tuesday, the 28th of April, and Arsenal play Atletico Madrid. So that is the clutch. Whoever wins home and away and wins that is in the finals. So we've made it this far. Now it's just time to giddy up. And let's just get to the finals and then give ourselves a proper shot to this. So that's where I am with my football update to you on that. And then I wanted to tell you that because I'm so close to Roland Guerros, which I'd mentioned to you earlier, is Carlos gonna play? Did you hear that he has hurt his wrist?

SPEAKER_00

I thought I heard rumors or whispers of he hurt something, but I couldn't tell what it was. I didn't find that piece of it.

SPEAKER_01

And you know where I found that? Um he's won the award right now. Have you seen that? Has that popped up on your feed? But if it hasn't, because I like to share it has popped up on your feed.

SPEAKER_00

You like to share screen? No, I went on the tennis um to do some pod research. I went on tennis channels um page and I saw there, yeah, that he won an award and Sabalenka won it as well.

SPEAKER_01

So how I know is I will be sharing screen, everybody. Please give me one second. Okay. There we are.

SPEAKER_00

She's back.

SPEAKER_01

I'm back, everyone. It's this, and this is um the sports award. The is it I don't know how you how do you say it if it's Lores, Lore's or whatever, sports award.

SPEAKER_00

Have you ever heard of the sports award before?

SPEAKER_01

Yes, I actually have, shockingly. And I actually did a bunch of research and Googling on it because I was very confused and like what these awards were, but yes, I have heard about it. And it's like there, you know how we have the Espies in North America, which is like the sports award. They do this mostly with like Europe, but like they try and bring the world into it. So look at his wrist. This is what I wanted to tell you. I'm like, at first I was like listening to his listening to him talk. He was like, kick. And then I'm like, I'm sorry, I see some like a strap. And you know, I have PTSD for my boot, and then I'm looking at his other hand when he's holding the award, and I'm like, oh god, he's done something to his hand, but like, why wasn't it all over my feed? And then I look and it says Carlos has hurt his wrist in the Madrid Open. So, and you know, Roland Garros like around the corner. So, what is Roland Garros is uh it's always May 18th to June 7th. So today is he has a month essentially.

SPEAKER_00

He has a month in uh North America it is 420, which I don't know if you it's weed day or something, we smoking, yeah. They love a joint on on 420, just so you know.

SPEAKER_01

You know, it's legal in Vancouver in Canada, so I wonder if just like does that still kill like the whole because before it was like people used to hide it and do it and stuff. Now it's just they do it every day. I mean that's yeah, exactly.

SPEAKER_00

Every day is 420.

SPEAKER_01

There are in these streets doing it. Um, so what do you think about Carlos though? Is he in? Is he out? What's his vibe?

SPEAKER_00

It is what the doctor will say. And Coachan, we will have to buckle up and wait to hear what the doctor is saying. But listen, that's his wrist. And to be fair, I don't understand how more of them don't hurt their wrists and things because they flick that ball nonstop all day, every day. How how I flicked my wrist for an hour with our pal playing last month, and I was so I was out.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, we're like because we're rusty and you're trying to hit every ball so hard. Yeah, I've always wondered how the rest of the because they have so much treatment that they're going through and they're doing a bunch, they're doing like proper exercises before they start not like us, just start wanting to like you straight away want to not even do short game warm-up, you just want to keep going and hacking at it. So Carlos has won. He got the world sportsman of the year, which is huge, which means he beat all the other sports. So the other sports are also someone like a Rory. Rory won World Comeback of the Year, which is true. This is 2025, remember? So that's for him winning the masters the first time. Lando Norris and Co. What did they win? They won World Breakthrough of the year because they won, remember? They won uh Lando Norris and the team. They came in first for F1. So they won that. And then our girl Sabalenka, she won World Sports Woman of the Year. It's a big thing because you're beating out other sports. It's not only within tennis you're winning it, but you're like in it's against all the other sports. She looks great.

SPEAKER_00

So both tennis players won.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. It's really nice. I think it's happened before, if I'm not mistaken. You know who I saw post about it? Your all-time favorite tennis player. She's won one of these awards. And who was your all-time favorite tennis? Correct. She said, I wish I was there.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, Monica.

SPEAKER_01

We do love a Monica. If I click here, that's Tennis Channel. If I click here and actually go into this, maybe we can see some other athletes that have won um the award and they are showing us over.

SPEAKER_00

Why don't I just give some stats out of some of the other um things? So you know Stuttgart, where they give out the Porsche.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yes. It's a different tournament you're talking about. Hang on one second.

SPEAKER_00

I just want to make sure that I gotta move on here.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, okay. We're moving on, everyone. I just want to give other kudos. No, no, PSG. Wait, wait, wait. Team of the year. World team of the year PSG. That's always interesting to me. And um, sporting inspiration of the world as a as a footballer, the world, the world's young super sports person of the year award. Do you know who he is?

SPEAKER_00

No, do you know who he is?

SPEAKER_01

Yamal? You don't you don't recognize his face? He's the young kid that played in the World Cup um when last time, which was in either Saudi or no, he didn't play the World Cup, not the World Cup, it was the Euros, and it was in Germany, and he played for the Nash Spain's national team, and he was too young, he was 16, and the laws in Germany were like, if you're 16, you're not like legal age or 15. He was 15, and you'd be 16 as a legal age to work, and their match was at 10 p.m. And I think they had like a certain cutoff where like kids after a certain age couldn't work. They had they thought that he wouldn't be able to play the match because he was 15, and that's a law in Germany, and they had to, I think, get him an exemption to play.

SPEAKER_00

Wow. Isn't that crazy?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, this kid plays for Barcelona. He's literally incredible.

SPEAKER_00

I was just gonna say this award thing just seems made up. Like whoever made up this, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I just it feels like many years that Dal's won many of them and stuff. I don't surprise you. Um, maybe it hasn't showed up on your feed, but um like it's showing it's showed up today, right? Mm-hmm. Okay, you feel like it's made up, but it's not because I mean, world athletes are here, they're all here. It's just maybe now it's getting a little bit bigger push on our feeds. Um, they all look great though. Okay, you wanted to go straight into tennis. Go ahead, please.

SPEAKER_00

I want to go into Rybicana winning in 2024, was it? And now again in 26? This is her second Porsche.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, I don't know which year is it says that do you have space for it or as I said because she's already got one. Oh right.

SPEAKER_00

She won it two years ago, I'm pretty sure.

SPEAKER_01

Isn't it cool that they win a Porsche though? Like it's a badass price, is it not?

SPEAKER_00

It's great. I mean, it's not as it's not as monetarily balanced as well. Well, it's not as much because money they win like half a million in in these smaller tournaments, and a Porsche is like maybe 200k. So it's not as much if you actually in retrospect. Yeah, like one of these Porsches, they're not they're not that much. It depends. Does it say what kind of Porsche that one is? Okay, let me look it up. I'll look it up. Anyways, it is a cool prize.

SPEAKER_01

Look that up while I show people when Barn Munich had won. Sasha had um, because he's German slash Russian, but like grew up in Germany, in honor of them, he wore their like jersey, which I thought was really cute. And also he's an Adidas athlete, which works out quite well for him. So that was that was like a nice I I love when there's a crossover in sports. I'm like a huge fan, obviously, of if there's like an F1 tennis, F1 golf, golf and tennis. Um, so I like I really, really like this of those three. I think golf, tennis, and F1. If they ever have a crossover in either direction, I'm like all over it. So I loved that. Are you looking up how much it costs?

SPEAKER_00

I have the numbers. So the Porsche that they get, the 911 Carrera S uh Cabriolet, is approximately 170k USD, and the winner gets um 161 Euros plus the Porsche.

SPEAKER_01

So okay, but and but this is a smaller tournament, remember? So that's fine.

SPEAKER_00

I like that you get I think it's cool that you get a Porsche, but like okay, if you already have two Porsches and you don't want one, what are you putting it on marketplace? Where's the Porsche going?

SPEAKER_01

You're you're giving it to a friend or somebody, or you're selling hopefully selling it back to the professional tennis player, you're just selling your Porsche online. Facebook Marketplace. I don't know, but there's like dealerships, right? That people sell cars back to.

SPEAKER_00

Just me selling my Porsches on Facebook Marketplace if anyone wants them.

SPEAKER_01

Hey, we saw my scooter.

SPEAKER_00

Let's talk about hot your scooter was on Facebook Marketplace as a commodity. I hate to say it, but people are injuring themselves and they want a scoop.

SPEAKER_01

But please take care of your legs. The amount of boots that I've seen in Paris and in London makes me so sad because in Vancouver and in North America we have the luxury of sitting in a car and rolling around. And you know, um, we have tons of elevators and accessibility for like um opening doors and over here, the fact that I carry my back up and down these stairs. I literally feel like I was 108 years old. I was taking, like, you know, one step down, like with one foot. It took me forever to go down these metros, but I was committed. No one was pushing me, they just go around you. Um, there's no lifts, there's no like elevators, or some of these don't have any escalators to go up and down. So I don't know how people in cities like this do it because I was out of literally out of commission for two and a half months. So may God bless them. I hope no one's injury is like that bad where they can't put pressure on it. But on a happier note, how cute is the collab with Hello Kitty and US soccer?

SPEAKER_00

How do I get this Hello Kitty?

SPEAKER_01

I know. I did mention it to our gal pal Kristen, who was on on the last episode, who had a great time and she was just dropping us with so many like random facts about US soccer. The fact that these women have four stars over the crest, like over this crest, the men don't. These four stars over the crest is the the the world cups that they've won. Like if that isn't a flex, if that isn't a flex, I don't know what the heck is, but I'm obsessed that they have that.

SPEAKER_00

Um I'm gonna start putting stars over my LinkedIn profile just because just because just because I'm a star. Yeah. Five stars over my LinkedIn profile. People are like, what the heck is that my star?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I have gotten good ratings. I know it looks really cute. I know it's a it's it's a great, like it's great. So we're gonna figure out how we get you some Hello Kitty stuff, and then I just wanted to. I just had like some other like tennis and um football stuff that had come up in my feed. We already spoke about him getting the fine.

SPEAKER_00

Well, Arthur Fee or Feel, how do we say his name okay? Yeah, I think he's saying it's that's right, that sounds right. He took a little dip in a pool. I think he won Barcelona, is what I had made a little note. Let me just see. Yeah, he won Barcelona, and then Sheldon won Munich, I'm pretty sure, in um in Germany on clay as well.

SPEAKER_01

Sh he did because he had beat uh Kovalli. Yes, he beat Kovalli, and I wanted to, I just wanted to I had this saved because I was like, damn, he crushed Zora 6-3-6-3, and Zora is good.

SPEAKER_00

He's really good.

SPEAKER_01

So the this this score line was a shocker to me. And if we just quickly go here. Oh, Venus is gonna be on clay, play first match since 2021. If people didn't know, there he is, he's jumping into the water.

SPEAKER_00

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_01

It's the BN BCN Open. Oh, and Barcelona.

SPEAKER_00

Ouch! That feels like that would hurt.

SPEAKER_01

That I feel like that would hurt. But look at the Balkans and everybody. I love that this is actually like a tradition with the jump in the water.

SPEAKER_00

Don't they jump in with him? What don't they jump in with him?

SPEAKER_01

I don't know, maybe.

SPEAKER_00

Maybe in one of them, they jump in and all the kids jump in too. So this is the one. Here's the one it is, okay. Yeah, yeah, because I think when Carlos had won this, I remember last year, all the kids jumped in to remember this.

SPEAKER_01

And how about the mascots? Also, in there, is there mascot of fish?

SPEAKER_00

I have no idea.

SPEAKER_01

Like, how is he breathing with that big thing on him? But that is actually tens of the yeah, so it's uh he won Barcelona. And do you remember who he played in the final?

SPEAKER_00

Uh no.

SPEAKER_01

We haven't done a little bit of our homework. Oh, yeah. He beat um Rublov.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yeah. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

So these are the smaller little ones that they play before they get into um 7-6, so winning a tiebreaker. Yeah, but here's Ben Shelton winning his BMW open. Is Ben Shelton.

SPEAKER_00

He beat out Museti, who was number two in this tournament. Um Nakashima.

SPEAKER_01

Don't sleep on him. He's working hard.

SPEAKER_00

He's incredible. He beat out Nakashima, who's incredible. Um, yeah, he did very well.

SPEAKER_01

Yep, I love that everyone's jumping in this pool. Um yeah, it's exciting. Also, I'm happy for him because we do remember Carlos crushed him in 56 minutes. I think it was a consolidar device, so that was devastating for him. So yeah, just wanted to make sure. Um, I have somebody over here that's just said, thanks, coach, enjoy the trip. That's quite nice of them. Thank you. I will. And um what is anyone saying? An IG? Okay. What uh what else did you have on your list of things? I had some other things that I wanted to mention.

SPEAKER_00

I have nothing sports related besides the tennis, obviously. Um, I just wanted to mention that there were something.

SPEAKER_01

Continue.

SPEAKER_00

Uh that there is uh was someone.

SPEAKER_01

No, is it sports related or not sports? So let me know. No, no, let me hit you with one more sports related.

SPEAKER_00

Please, please, please.

SPEAKER_01

And then um, okay. What are your thoughts on this? I don't even know if you know this, but let me just go back to the menu.

SPEAKER_00

Did you know?

SPEAKER_01

No, no, for real though. Did you know? We're gonna talk World Cup really quick. Number one, they've banned tailgating. Do you know what tailgating is?

SPEAKER_00

The party after.

SPEAKER_01

No, tailgating usually happens quite a bit in America, I would say mostly. And what it is before football matches, like American football, college, and NFL, people are in the parking lot where they've parked and they're having like a barbecue or a gathering outside of their truck. So everyone's like in their truck and they have food, they're sharing food, there's music, sometimes they have tents, and it's a big, let's say it's a pre-game to the actual football game, right?

SPEAKER_00

Sorry, so it's post-game. I thought it was after the game, but it's actually pre-game. It's for game. Yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so it brings everyone to the venue earlier, and they have like allocated errors. It's like literally, this is what they do. Like, you know how in the UK they go to the pub before the match, during the match, all of that. This is like with food, and it's very kosher. No one's fighting, there isn't arguments, you have your friends there. It's a good vibe, it's great, it's fun. Anyways, so FIFA has banned tailgating. So that was interesting to me. I'm like, you're um a football soccer entity, a global entity. You're going into new territory of countries, and you are telling them that what they traditionally do in sports, you're taking that away from them. That I don't know if it's smart because they're gonna do it anyway. I think it might be hard for them to like restrict that. And what what is the point of not doing that? Like, if there's I don't know. So I would like love to hear the theory on that one.

SPEAKER_00

Well, FIFA likes to control everything and have it very much according to their brand. So if it's not, if it's they have never done it anywhere else before.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, but now listen to this battle. And this battle, we're gonna have a few too many things to say about. Number one, did you know that um MetLife Stadium, which um which currently sits in New Jersey, okay? Yes, and but soccer gets played there, and the New York soccer teams play there. Because you know, like New York and New Jersey, they had the stadium somewhere, just like we spoke about Miami's um race actually happens in Fort Lauderdale. Roland Garros and PSG Stadium actually are like in the neighboring bordering town.

SPEAKER_00

Um, so many, not many cities have their oh no, I guess they have their arenas. Oh, it depends. We're lucky we our major arenas are in the heart downtown. Yeah, okay, go on.

SPEAKER_01

So some do, some have it like, you know, if they've built a new arena, they they're gonna build it in like, yeah. So Queen, think about Queens, New York. It's not in the heart of Manhattan, is where they have the US Open for tennis. And so they're also building a brand new stadium for um FC, New York, FC. So New York has two soccer teams. Okay, so all of a sudden, my feed, and this news has come all the way to Paris because my friend that I was telling you about that I was with today, he brought it up to me, and I was like shocked that it's it's like breaking news for him. So I'm gonna read it verbatim of exactly what it is so you understand. New Jersey confirmed spectators traveling from central New York to MetLife Stadium will pay a hundred and fifty dollars, which is a hundred and eleven pounds if you're in the UK, to take a train to go watch a football match for the World Cup when in reality that train ride on a regular day, wait for it, costs twelve dollars and some change.

SPEAKER_00

I was gonna say because I just took that train last May to go there, and it was like I was gonna say it was 15 bucks.

SPEAKER_01

Sure, let's round it up for the people. Why would$150?

SPEAKER_00

So the New York um subway system is making like their transit system's making this money?

SPEAKER_01

No, who is it? Governor Mickey from New Jersey. Because remember, New Jersey and New York are separate states.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Right? So Governor Mickey from New Jersey says, well, FIFA should pay for transport. So because of that backlash, which has showed up now in Paris, because I have friends over here telling me about it. And I was just disgusted because, you know, like North America, mostly America, is already known for capitalism and gouging people for ticket pricing. And everyone, like the same friend was like, I really wanted to come to watch, you know, Brazil France play. Like I would come. It's like tourist dollars coming there, you know, coming to our countries to help our own economy. But when you have thousand-dollar tickets, and then that's just your ticket. But what about your flight, your hotel? And now you're telling me if I want to watch three different matches, or if I want to go there and back, one that's$300 in one day just for transit. So if I want to go watch, let's say two or three matches, I'm paying a thousand dollars just in transit.

SPEAKER_00

This is lunacy. Beyonce would never let this happen. I went to watch her in Jersey at I think MetLife, right? Like that's the stadium there. It was a full-range show. It was my first one ever. That stadium doesn't close because they don't have enough money to build a roof over it, they never built one. So and she performed in torrential downpour. And a couple of times when she went over in certain cities, she paid for the transit to stay open so people got home. And that's what artists do because you're stuck. Like you can't gouge people when they're trying to come to see you.

SPEAKER_01

This was like breaking news in everyone's screen last week. This morning, well, this afternoon here, I guess in Paris, Philadelphia, the city of Philadelphia. I love this. It's kind of like watch us. You guys are New Yorkers in New Jersey, you're known to be those people. So Philadelphia has decided that their transit will be free.

SPEAKER_00

Do they have a game there?

SPEAKER_01

Pardon?

SPEAKER_00

Do they have any games in Philadelphia?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they do. Oh. So it says that um Philly, free train travel for friends, leaving for the World Cup match this summer. And it says that it's part of a partnership with one of the World Cup sponsors, Airbnb. Um and so it says that if like certain parts like um aren't free or whatever, the max that they'll charge people is$2.90 to get into like to get to the stadium. Like that's what I'm talking about. And so then what did Dallas do? They're like, you know what? We're gonna keep a nominal two, and Dallas is gonna charge$6 return. They're in back to the stadium from downtown. And so then it said in the article that the original contract that each host city, so Vancouver, Toronto, clearly, Dallas, Philly, New York, New Jersey, all of them, in their original hosting agreement signed by the cities, they were obliged to have free transportation for the fans. That was in the original. Then somebody made an amendment. I don't know who. So, like, you know, they had said at first, if you're gonna if you're going to be a host city, you have to provide free transit. Then they put a little asterisk and said, as long as you cover your cost. Now, I wanna say the New Jersey mayor, maybe his pushback is going to be that the amount of security and police and staff maybe that he's gonna need to hire to have this transit open because they also host the finals.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, right, okay.

SPEAKER_01

So, whatever the excuse is, he has backlashes, FIFA should pay for everyone's transport. So, what are your thoughts on who should be paying for transport? The city should take that burden, or should it be FIFA or should it be a nominal transport?

SPEAKER_00

How does it work everywhere? How does it work everywhere? Don't you just like if you live in the city and if we're going to see a game, aren't we paying for our own transport? But why gouge people all of a sudden for transport that cost 12 bucks and now is 100 and something? Like that makes no sense. Just keep transport the price it is. Everyone for yours has always paid for their transport to get to venues and back. Like whether it's an Uber, just keep it regular, keep it the like, don't change it.

SPEAKER_01

Right. Okay, keep it the$12 that it was. Keep it what it is, yeah. Yeah, I actually feel horrible for workers. Like, if you're working, you think that you're gonna pay$150 to show.

SPEAKER_00

It's not it's not worth your shift, probably to go.

SPEAKER_01

So the next thing that I was really upset about reading was like, you know, when Canada does something rogue like this, it throws me off. And it says Toronto's FIFA World Cup Fan Fest is no longer free to attend. I was actually really disappointed to hear that because Vancouver's is still free. We have the option to pay for like seating if you wanted to sit in an actual seat. There's a limited amount, but you can first come, first serve. It's a picnic style of the PE. You put on your, you know, just like makes it affordable for families and people to come and make it like an actual like fan fest, which is open to everyone and other people that have money to come and experience this. So Toronto's now charging$10, even though it's nominal, but still I don't love it.$10 um for general admission tickets for Toronto's fan fest, in effect to offset what does it say? I have this stupid thing in the way. Um, additional unseen cost that had exceeded the city's um approved hosting budget of$380 million. Again, I feel like it's probably security-based, right? To get more security, maybe people cleaning, trash cans, all of that kind of stuff. Because we hope Vancouver hosts, I'm pretty sure, six to seven games at home. I obviously have a fan fest is technically open for all the matches. So if a match is being played in in the New York, the finals, there should be fanfests in Vancouver because you should have it for your local people. So just like, you know, we could have found the budget to somehow do this or whatever. So, anyways, Toronto now has to pay for their fan fest. I'm happy to transition to non-sports related things. Those are my sports updates.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, well, Coach and we have 10 more minutes because I gotta go. So we can absolutely we I can share. Um, a couple of things. Humans and robots had a race in China. Um, they did this a little while back and the robot lost, but this time it was a 13 miles, so that's a half marathon. It's 21 or 26k. I should know. 21.1k is a half marathon. I've run a I've run two a little while back. Anyway, the robot ran it in 50 minutes, which is very fast. And the 12,000 humans, unfortunately, nobody was close to that. So the robots are officially faster. Uh, the robot did kind of stumble. The robot did kind of have a bit of a stumble like toward the end, and it freaks out. It has a bit of a freak out, it like stuff, but then when they picked it back up, it still like ran across the finish line and made it. So the robots are officially faster, they're taking over. Um, and then a fun other little story that I found was um they did a raffle for a Picasso painting. So the painting is worth a million bucks. You know, Picasso's paintings, I mean, R.I.P. Picasso, but I feel like our cousins' kids who are two and four can make some of this stuff. Um, it was a head of a woman. It was uh raffled at Christie's in Paris uh for Alzheimer's research. They sold 120,000 tickets um that ended up uh and so the tickets were only$117, and they ended up uh raising$14 million, but the person that bought a ticket for$117 won a million dollar Picasso painting.

SPEAKER_01

Wait, wait, wait, can you rewind and explain that one more second?

SPEAKER_00

So it's a raffle. So it's actually so the painting is worth a million bucks. It's a raffle, it's like buying a lottery ticket. You bought a hundred and seventeen dollar lottery ticket, right?

SPEAKER_01

And you trans is you call it a million-dollar painting.

SPEAKER_00

That's right. Yeah, yeah. And money goes where to Alzheimer's, to charity. So they fundraise they fundraise$14 million. A million of that has gone to the painting, right? The cost of buying that painting. So$13 million. And the person that bought that ticket for$117 had a chance in this case of one out of a hundred and what did I say? 120,000 people. So one out of one, that's a better odd than winning a lottery.

SPEAKER_01

Lottery, I would say.

SPEAKER_00

And I just love that idea. I've never heard of like a raffle or a high-ticketed art piece, you know?

SPEAKER_01

So and then you raise 13 million.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

That's great. That's a great, great update.

SPEAKER_00

Knowing that your money goes to a charity, I would I would I would I would definitely participate versus like just like throwing it out there and lottery.

SPEAKER_01

And there's more chance, like you might just win the Picasso painting worth a million. That's pretty cool, actually.

SPEAKER_00

Let me ask you if you win a Picasso painting, are you also putting that on marketplace along with your Porsche that you win from the tournament?

SPEAKER_01

The Picasso painting. No, I would sit on it. I'd let it get a little bit more appreciated value. Correct. I would let that one just hit me at a good five. I would give it a go. Sell that. And the Porsche. You know, the Porsche has already lost its value. I'd zoom, zoom, zoom through the city. And then give it.

SPEAKER_00

Beautiful.

SPEAKER_01

Facebook marketplace people. We're Facebook marketplacing these days. If you haven't done it, give it a try.

SPEAKER_00

It's uh it's a timeout there. It's gotten it's gotten better. It's got some like things where you could rate people, and there's some there's some things, so they're trying to make it a legit thing because it yeah, yeah, exactly.

SPEAKER_01

Um did you have to do that?

SPEAKER_00

Lego, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

If you click on those Lego I just saw that and I was gonna say, did you have anything else? Because I see there's like a random Lego situation happening here. What's happening here?

SPEAKER_00

Lego, just like the Kit Kat truck that went missing. I believe um police discovered a million dollars worth of stolen Lego, and everything comes out of Texas or Florida.

SPEAKER_01

There it is. There she is, and so they stole Texas police recovered one million dollar worth of stolen Lego. Um, sets after uh deputies topped two box trucks fleeing a location discovered that the stolen cargo inside. Investigators say that their products were taken while in transit from Fort Worth to Riverside County with two missing freight trailers later found nearby. Three suspects have been arrested and are facing charges, including cargo theft, possession of a stolen vehicle, and conspiracy. Speaking about Lego being stolen, I just need to let you know that I, my friend, took me around and showed me Paris by night, which if you've never done it, and if you have someone that can take you around, highly recommend. It's even more magical than the day. Like, I don't know. I I was just like in awe. I would have seen all of these sites. I was just like, wait, can you wait here? Let me take a picture. Um so we saw the Louvre. And do you remember Louvre? And do you remember that the he just I was like, I'm sorry. I just was trying to like jab a little bit. I'm like, I'm sorry, did didn't was there like a like a break-in that happened here? And he's like, Oh my god, yes, and he's like explaining it to me, and he shows me exactly where it happens. First of all, do you remember by like memory just going after memory how big the Louvre is?

SPEAKER_00

It's gigantic.

SPEAKER_01

I think I've forgotten it's like 17 blocks or more, like 25 blocks, like 50 blocks. It we were driving, and I felt like we were driving for three minutes and it was still going. It's it's huge, huge, huge, and so the we're still driving, it's like it's still coming where I'm gonna show you. And they have like this like awning around that area, I guess, of where I'm assuming they still have to supposedly they found they just like pulled up in a truck, like on the sidewalk and just a working truck, like you know how you fix light. Yeah, yeah. They just popped in the case. Supposedly they found the guys, which is nice, but they didn't find the objects, which is like classic. Um, so that was the first thing. And then straight away what hit me next was remember when Kim Kardashian got um at her hotel when they came. So, like, what happens in Paris? People just like in inside telling each other how to like make things happen. Those guys supposedly got caught as well, but I'm assuming her jewelry was not also found. Um, so Paris is the city of love, I guess, and all things, but also just keep an eye out on like what's happening around.

SPEAKER_00

You better keep an eye out over there as well.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, especially with phones here. It's it's a pretty big um city, Barcelona and Paris.

SPEAKER_00

So that was um, what's in London quite crazy too is in London quite wild with the phone thing too, where they're snatching it out of your hands. Yeah, it's the rage, it's what they're doing. Everyone's stealing, no one's interested in stealing um just regular things anymore. They're interested in stealing the full truck, not the product, like the full truck. They are interested in breaking in and taking all the artifacts, they are interested in taking it right out of your hand, your cell phone. It is a wild, wild time out there, Coach Cheyenne.

SPEAKER_01

And you have somebody somebody just asked me the other day um when I was in London. Uh, I can't remember who I was like sitting and eating with, and they're like, Well, what's Vancouver like? And I'm like, um, safe? Like, if I can say that, like I can definitely leave my phone on a table at any restaurant, go to the washroom, come back. My phone is still going to be there.

SPEAKER_00

But that's most I would say that's most of North America. Like, in where in North America can you not like do that? You are fine.

SPEAKER_01

Maybe New York, but like it's not even that intense.

SPEAKER_00

No, not even you can do it there too.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I feel super safe in New York too. Like, if anybody asks, like, have you heard about theft or pickpocketers and stuff?

SPEAKER_00

I'm like, no, New York's great.

SPEAKER_01

I have been to New York a lot, and I just feel like people aren't in your pocket like that. But yeah, yeah, Europe has a different vibe when it comes to this. And the last thing we're gonna talk about North America, and let's go all the way to the most beautiful of places, Hawaii. Um, so in the golf and the PJ tour in January, they used to always start in Hawaii. That was usually how the tournament started, and then they would trickle their way because, of course, January, warm Hawaii, let's kick it off. Um, last this year, they didn't have the tournament because um they actually had a water shortage, and so they couldn't keep the greens upkeep and couldn't keep that. So it was a first year where they didn't play in Hawaii this year. So as of next year, they've canceled that tournament. That tournament has been going on forever. Like, so I kind of feel bad for the Hawaiian people because when you pull a big tournament out, um, economy-wise, that affects you know all the small businesses there, tourism, um, because all the snowbirds are already there, but I should bring a few more people outside of that just to help the economy out and just help local tourism in those areas. So I do feel for the local people, but um, look how I know you love trophies and the way that they're like built and stuff, especially in the LPGA. But look how cute this one is.

SPEAKER_00

This wave with like a fin and then yeah, like a whales.

SPEAKER_01

Um I want it.

SPEAKER_00

It's like art, it's beautiful.

SPEAKER_01

It's art, it's beautiful, but yeah, so that was my North American transition to no golf happening in Hawaii.

SPEAKER_00

And on that note, we've got to wrap it up.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I think we're we're at that mark. Um, how do you would how do you feel about the Mondays at this time, once a week?

SPEAKER_00

Listen, if you're waking up at three in the morning to do it, sure. Uh, I think we're next Monday might not be possible.

SPEAKER_01

Uh one we're uh we are back in London, so we're still doing it.

SPEAKER_00

No, I will be flying to Miami that day. I will, I don't think I can do it.

SPEAKER_01

I will be doing it live from London at probably crazy hours.

SPEAKER_00

Love to see it.

SPEAKER_01

And then we will the following week after that, we will see everybody in Miami together on the live. So if you're in Miami, come catch us, we'll be out there. But thank you so much for watching. If you stuck with us to the very end, we always appreciate it. Um and as always, I love when you guys are in the comments on YouTube. Let us know if you have any questions. Let us know if Carlos is gonna make it to Roland Guerros with his like wrist situation. That's what I would love to know. But thank you so much for sticking around. Thank you so much for watching, watching, and listening. And we'll see you next Monday at 6 p.m. Pacific, 9 p.m. Eastern, or 3 a.m. in Paris. Ciao, ciao! Good night, and God bless.
