Hello.
SPEAKER_00Coach, why are you yelling?
SPEAKER_05Because I don't know if we're live and if the volume works today.
SPEAKER_00Because for eight minutes or ten minutes last time we spoke and spoke and spoke some more and there was no audio and no one said anything except for one loyal listener.
SPEAKER_06Well, we have a few loyal listeners.
SPEAKER_00We did, but what were they doing? I don't know.
SPEAKER_06They were maybe nervous. I think that sometimes what ends up happening is you are like, is it just me or is it them? Is it my phone? Is it their volume? Anyways, hopefully the volume works to generate.
SPEAKER_00Should I check on IG?
SPEAKER_06I think you should check. I think we should be those people who check on our own podcast.
SPEAKER_00We need to log in live.
SPEAKER_06We sure do. Log into Code Cheyenne's IG, will you?
SPEAKER_00Code Cheyenne is live.
SPEAKER_06Okay, so welcome to From the Sidelines with Code Cheyenne and my brother Bauman as he checks if we're actually live and if it's working.
SPEAKER_00It's just my phone's taking forever. It's like too old now. It says live. It's taking time to load, but it's Why aren't you on Wi-Fi? I nobody knows.
SPEAKER_06Anyways, so we are live and our volume works.
SPEAKER_00So we are arguing because nothing has changed. I'm trying to get onto the Wi-Fi.
SPEAKER_06Anyways, we're moving on. So welcome to the podcast. If this is your first time here, hello.
SPEAKER_00Where have you been?
SPEAKER_06Thank you for joining us, is what we want to say to you. Um, as you are aware or unaware, we are live, usually Monday evenings, but because tomorrow I'm hosting a golf event here in Vancouver, we have pushed it to Mother's Day. And our mother is waiting for after this podcast so we can treat her to a beautiful dinner. So all the moms out there and soon-to-be moms, moms trying to be moms, just everybody. Happy Mother's Day, you know.
SPEAKER_00A lot of this podcast is not planned. And should we tell them where we're taking our what incident occurred where we're taking our mother to go eat dinner a while back? What? Shots were fired.
unknownDo you know?
SPEAKER_05But we're not we're not going to that sushi place.
SPEAKER_00Are we not?
SPEAKER_05No. We're not going up the street. No, we're going to further up the street. Okay.
SPEAKER_00My baby doesn't even know where we're going, so that just tells you how I was excited because there was a sushi place really close to where my parents live, which is really good. But also there was a gang situation there, and someone from the outside, like, yeah.
SPEAKER_05Why is you going to tell the people this was a mistake?
SPEAKER_00I thought we were taking Tush. Great sushi there, though.
SPEAKER_06Um, all right. So today's podcast will not start with shots fired. Today's podcast will start with a lot of really cool things have happened this week. We spoke to you on Monday. We were in Miami. We are back in Mancover. Very happy to be home. Um, had a fabulous time in Miami. F1 was great. And any other like F1 updates for you before you spray your face? Honestly, it never ends with this diva. So I'll just tell you. Um, Messi was there. Messi shut everything down if you missed Miami. Miami was extremely hot. Then they pushed the race three hours early on Sunday because the scare of torrential downpour. If you've never been to Florida, it can happen at any point. Summer's probably the worst because you will get rain done at least once during the day, and it's full hurricane, and then it's dry like it never happened. Classic Florida for you.
SPEAKER_00They were so sure from every angle that this rain was coming, and then it actually came to the South Beach area from there, but where the um F1's located is in Fort Lauderdale, which is about 40 minutes from there. And it didn't come there.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, which is they're all thankful. And also, if you didn't know, um, one of the main things that the engineers um and the teams kept telling their drivers, hey, on turn for and what turn four, turn seven, turn whatever thirteen, be careful it's coming down. It might be a bit slippery.
SPEAKER_00And they're really accurate, like they know when that raindrop is coming. They know, but if they were not accurate.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I feel bad for Charles. I still feel bad for Charles because he was leading, then he wasn't leading, then he was third. As an athlete, I feel bad for him for the cash flow that he has, good for him.
SPEAKER_00I don't feel bad.
SPEAKER_06And we're moving on with that one.
SPEAKER_00Coachan's having none of it.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, well, you know what?
SPEAKER_00That's but you know what I'm having?
SPEAKER_06Good lighting.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Insane.
SPEAKER_00The skincare. Hydrate it.
SPEAKER_06Okay, Bun. So speaking about skincare and hydrating, any any favorite people from Met that you want to talk about?
SPEAKER_00Let's talk about your glasses. This is the first time that I've got these in Japan. She got them in Japan and they were so affordable. So cheap. And they got them done in how long?
SPEAKER_05Like an hour? Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And their prescription. Correct. Why can't we have nice things here?
SPEAKER_06Like why Why do the Japanese have it figured out and we just can't figure things out?
SPEAKER_00Why have they figured out an egg sandwich, egg salad sandwich, and why can't we figure it out? Ours still is horrible.
SPEAKER_06Um 7-Eleven, first of all, super side note. Super side. 7-Eleven. If you don't like eggs, I'm so sorry.
SPEAKER_00But this if you're vegan, sorry.
SPEAKER_06But this egg salad sandwich beats everything at the Masters. The price, the egg salad sandwich there, everything. So 7-Eleven in North America, mostly in Canada, said, you know what? We are going to bring this egg salad sandwich from the 7-Eleven in Japan to Canada.
SPEAKER_00They probably made it where in the States or here? Sure, we're probably here.
SPEAKER_06It's not flying in from Japan. I gave it a 3 out of 10.
SPEAKER_00It was that bad.
SPEAKER_06If you were trying to bring the egg salad sandwich from Japan on how they do it, I just realized this shirt is from Japan.
SPEAKER_00You got it for me from that really cool store. From the Oh, Divot.
SPEAKER_06Yes. Great golf store. Sorry. Moving on. Great golf store. Anyways, it's a three out of ten. I hope they do a better job.
SPEAKER_00Um they have a crust on the version here, yeah.
SPEAKER_06And they didn't fill the edges. They hadn't whipped it.
SPEAKER_00Lazy.
SPEAKER_06We're moving on. But for an egg salad sandwich in general, I guess it's okay, but you can't compare the two. I don't know how we got into oh, Japanese people and the glasses. We're moving right back on because I don't know how we got into this kind of thing.
SPEAKER_00We are all over the shop on this. But being Canadian and Oh my god, has your has your father joined for the first time ever?
SPEAKER_05Oh my gosh. Yes, he has. Happy Mother's Day. Welcome my father.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, exactly. Your mother, your mother, not on. Not on.
SPEAKER_06Not on.
SPEAKER_00Not interested. Not interested.
SPEAKER_06Anyway, she was just waiting for dinner. Okay, so um, speaking about Canada, Toronto Tempo. Do you guys know what Toronto Tempo is?
SPEAKER_00I actually do. As a matter of fact, Toronto Tempo is the women's I was gonna say football, good lord, basketball team. And we went to see them August 25th. Really? You know the date? I don't know. It was, you know why I know it? It's because I started dating Mr. Brown shortly after I found out about him at that game. Oh, through a friend.
SPEAKER_06Okay. That's your personal life. But talking about the Toronto Tempo, this is a pod not only about your personal life, but about sports. And so Toronto Tempo is a WNBA team, and they had their so what we watched was like an exhibition game. And they were doing a few in Vancouver, just and the team is Canada's team because obviously we don't have one, and the rest of the provinces don't have a WNBA team. So I believe they're gonna play a few home matches in Vancouver, and they're gonna play a few home matches in what I believe could be Montreal, but I'm not sure. So don't quote me on it. And then most of their games will be in Toronto. So their first ever home game happened. Oh, it all is like May 8th, I'm pretty sure.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_06A couple days ago.
SPEAKER_00So we officially have Canada officially as a women's basketball team.
SPEAKER_06And who is one of the main um not donors, but owners.
SPEAKER_00Owners. Serena good friends.
SPEAKER_06Our dear friends.
SPEAKER_00One of our closest friends. Serena. Huge fan of the pod.
SPEAKER_05Serena Williams. Ladies and gentlemen. Thank you so much for listening and tuning in.
SPEAKER_00We love your support. Um we love everything you're doing. Also, fun fact, she is one of the not maybe only people, because now I'm just making stuff up like I always do. But I do know the amount of businesses that she's invested in that are like have gone up to a billion dollars. Like it's called unicorn in um businesses. I don't know. There's unicorn is used in the terminology somewhere, but she is very good at investing or is being guided very well because she invests in these companies and a lot of them hit over a billion dollars.
SPEAKER_06She's got a whole so do you know what she actually does? She said that insider trading. Incorrect. She invests in a lot of minority-owned businesses because not a lot of venture capitalist companies um provide funding for minority-run businesses, if it's women-owned and or ethnicity-wise minorities. So her main focus is that we have amazing ideas as well, but we just don't have the funding and the backing towards it. So she believes in herself and in us. And so she has and her team, obviously, of people that help run that is amazing. And they um, you know, they ask, they don't just give money to whoever. Like you have to have a proper business plan, have all of your stuff together. And if she believes in the product, she's like, absolutely, let's give them the money and let's mostly invest in minority business.
SPEAKER_00One moment while I Google on the stuff.
SPEAKER_06It's you guys don't have to Google. I know this. So this is I've heard her saying this. Um, someone in the chat has said, ooh, insider trading, Sonic, the hedgehog co-creator. Uh Yuji Naka got into some size of the legal trouble for it.
SPEAKER_00Ah my god, we didn't know any of that. I think we love it.
SPEAKER_03My brother was just BSing.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, oh, I love that. He was just Also, Martha Stewart, why did she end up in prison?
SPEAKER_06Yeah, she was doing it, but Serena owns she Serena has she is funding them, which isn't she isn't doing the legal trading. That's two very different things.
SPEAKER_00We are spreading rumors like crazy on this pod where five people listen to it.
SPEAKER_06You are spreading rumors like that.
SPEAKER_00Okay, Serena Williams, uh yes, okay, founded Serena Williams, Serena Ventures in 2017 to support diverse founders and underrepresented.
SPEAKER_06Permission, she prioritizes women and minority founders, aiming to create a more inclusive economy. Like I told you all before, do not listen to him because I knew that for a fact.
SPEAKER_00What you should know is she's a very good friend of ours and a very big fan of the pods.
SPEAKER_06Thank you, Serena, for your love and support.
SPEAKER_00We love, we love when you comment, like, and subscribe.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_00All right, what's next? Moving on.
SPEAKER_05So anyway, she's part of Toronto.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god, all of this to say she is.
SPEAKER_06She is one of the co-owners. Because you know what?
SPEAKER_00You think it needs to get to Drake?
SPEAKER_06Insane. No. Uh Toronto Tempo.
SPEAKER_00He dated Drake for a hot second. Is she? Yeah. Then she shows up to something clearly happened. She shows up in Kendrick's Super Bowl performance and dances her little thing to kind of basically give Drake the middle finger. Like, why would she?
SPEAKER_06I don't know, but I don't know. You know I never know.
SPEAKER_00This is the stuff I know. Um, and this is true.
SPEAKER_06She dated Drake?
SPEAKER_00Yes, for a hot second.
SPEAKER_06Did Rihanna also date Drake? Yes, everyone dated Drake. He's not that cute.
SPEAKER_00Did you almost date Drake?
SPEAKER_06Absolutely not. Moving on. So Serena Williams is one of the um, so the main owner, it says, is Larry from Kilmer Sports.
SPEAKER_00Who the heck is Larry?
SPEAKER_06Larry be owning the majority of the team. And star set a group of assembled between 05 and 26, including Serena Williams um and a bunch of other people that we have no idea who they probably are, but all we know is Serena and Larry and Friends as well.
SPEAKER_00Larry and friends.
SPEAKER_06Serena, Larry, Serena and friends own the Toronto Temple. Very exciting stuff. We're here for it. She's always supporting women's sports, and so is her husband, and we love all of the above. So that's a fun, fun little fact for all of you basketball and non-basketball fans, because that's I love you. Like I told you last podcast, I love a cross-collaboration of sports. It's like my all-time favorite thing in life is sports loving sports, loving sports, sports.
SPEAKER_00What is one of your favorite sports collabs?
SPEAKER_06Like ever?
SPEAKER_00Sure. Like, what are some that come to mind that you think are really good?
SPEAKER_06I don't know if there's like a specific collaboration that I love, but the most recent one that's kind of caught my eye, and I'm like all over is McLaren, the F1 team has created golf clubs. Which I was like, that's weird.
SPEAKER_00They sound fast.
SPEAKER_06Wow, great marketing. That should be their tagline. They sound fast. Or they play fast, they hit fast.
SPEAKER_00They you swing fast, they sound fast. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06They sound fast.
SPEAKER_00That's so good. Room, room.
SPEAKER_06Button, we're live and just putting chapstick on.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Anyways, so I think that to me has caught my attention. Justin Rose, um, if you know or don't know, um, is an incredible golfer. And Michelle Wee and um Ian Poulter, all three of them are now represented by McLaren and their at least using using their golf clubs. It's it's been fast. And it kind of kind of the most I'm just curious. I'm just looking at it because again, he does not believe.
SPEAKER_00No, I believe. I just want to see what these look like. Like, do they look fast? Do they look good? Like, do they look cool?
SPEAKER_06Who cares if they look good? Do they work? That's what actually matters.
SPEAKER_00Do you care about McLaren? Oh, like they're okay.
SPEAKER_06I'm gonna take a step back. McLaren's engineers and Justin Rose have worked together to make sure that these clubs are legit and they good, but I think they're extremely expensive. So I will get back to you in the next la next episode to let you know cost. Maybe if they can send me one, I could do a YouTube video for them about it. I got coach chance to be super quickly sliding in there.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, why wouldn't I? McLaren golf.
SPEAKER_06But that collab to me is fun. Um, speaking about and just basketball, because we've just transitioned into golf and collabs, was that the NBA playoffs are happening? I know we've kind of like zoned out of the NBA since I no longer work in the NBA.
SPEAKER_00Can I just tell you how much these cost? Are they like a standard seven club set? Is that the irons maybe? Yeah, of the series one or three costs 2600 USD. That's not that bad.
SPEAKER_06But that's not including your any woods, so no driver, nothing, no putters. That's just what's an average set cost in the US? So it says that the pre it's a premium luxury offering irons price 375 USD per club.
SPEAKER_00Is that expensive?
SPEAKER_06Almost $400 per club is expensive. That's an iron set, pitching wedge to a four iron set. Almost three grand, including public taxes, right?
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_06That's what I'm saying. Bun, the average person, okay. No, I know. Anyways, it's not horrible, but it's on the higher end of luxury. Speaking about basketball, I don't know if you guys know or don't know, but I've been out of the loop. But we have on the West Coast conference semifinals currently taking place. Um, it's Oklahoma City, the Thunder versus Los Angeles Lakers. And who do you think is leading? The Lakers or the Thunder? You're still stuck on golf?
SPEAKER_00I'm still stuck on the clubs. Um there is no official blah blah blah. Okay, so basically roughly eight to fourteen thousand dollars.
SPEAKER_06Is what?
SPEAKER_00I believe is the set of clubs?
SPEAKER_06A like a full set? It's a full set. Oh no, no, McLaren. There's no official full McLaren branded complete set. Oh, so they've only started launching with the pitching register, the four iron. So your iron set is really what they've launched with. Right. And then I'm sure they'll build. Okay. So in everyone's bag, technically, if you look at Michelle, we and if you look at um, so this is the if you guys are just joining, we're talking about collabs that we really love and the one that's sticking out to me right now.
SPEAKER_00I know a great one that I love that I think it's can we just tell them what we're talking about?
SPEAKER_06Oh. Um, McLaren has now created, which is an F1 team, which has now created golf clubs. That's what we were talking about. It seems that they've only made irons. What are you excited about?
SPEAKER_00F1 Lego. Brilliant collab.
SPEAKER_06Great genius collab.
SPEAKER_00It was, I think it's one of the best ones.
SPEAKER_06It's how about the Kit Kat? The Kit Cab going missing?
SPEAKER_00Well, that's not a collab that's like I don't think that's a great collab. It's whatever. But marketing. It's good marketing, but the Lego cars, them driving them, seeing the Lego cars everyone. Them selling Lego at F1. Like, I just think that's very, very good. Okay, we're moving on your own.
SPEAKER_06That's you know, that's two F1s or three F1s that have stuck out. Who else is doing good collaborations? Any other sports that have like come through your feed?
SPEAKER_00What's tennis doing Gucci?
SPEAKER_06I guess there'd be more player collaborations.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, no, but those are just brand collaborations, they're just like sponsoring players as brand ambassadors.
SPEAKER_06As holistically as a sport, are they doing any collaborations that stick out? If anyone that is in the chat, now is the time to chime in. Is there any collaborations that you guys have that you really love? I know Sephora has done one with the WNBA, which I think is smart because makeup brands, for some reason, don't do a lot of collaborations with women's sports, which, in my personal opinion, is a big miss. And I'm constantly looking for makeup brands to do collaborations. June 2nd is women's golf day around the world. We're hosting it over here, and the proceeds go to two local charities, a women's and a girls' charities. And I would love to have like a name name a makeup brand. We're going to be Fenty. Fenty. Like, where are you, Fenty?
SPEAKER_00Riri is in India expanding her brand Fenty in India so she can have access to over a billion people. Genius. So she could be a multi-billionaire.
SPEAKER_06Like, that is the hair products are stuff. So I feel like you know what I mean, Fenty. You need to be collabing with like maybe the WBA.
SPEAKER_00We re-collabed with India. You know what? Just collab with the whole country. Brilliant. That's actually smart. We love it. Mother than supports me. We love to see it. Oh my god. Yes.
SPEAKER_04Rashidina was in the house.
SPEAKER_06Coach and WNBA trying to center themselves as a luxury brand again.
SPEAKER_00Oh coach. Coach is really okay. Okay, yeah. Coaches, coaches on the up and up. They have a really cool men's bag that looks like uh almost Hermesy kind of, like this big bag. And it's been very popular. It looks real tre chic.
SPEAKER_06Will coach ever feel luxury to you though? Like in your head, are you thinking?
SPEAKER_00Well, coach is mid, the price is right, the leather is good, the quality's good. And so they're trying to get back into that space. Well, no, capture that mid-market, um, where it's really good quality, and they're working on that, which I think is, yeah, it's done really, really well. They have some really nice pieces. Okay. Um, good to know.
SPEAKER_06If there's anybody else that knows of any brands, but you know what? That's a good one. There's not a lot of collabs happening with tennis.
SPEAKER_00So we would love to see there's so many like possible. I mean, there's just so much stuff there.
SPEAKER_06Um, that'd be a good one to kind of like understand.
SPEAKER_00Um coach has the highest quality leather.
SPEAKER_06Rashina just coming through with the facts. We need her back on the pod. Rashina. Don't be scared. We both just screamed your name. We need you.
SPEAKER_00Where are you, girl? We need you back on the pod on the podcast. Get on.
SPEAKER_06Okay, should we move on? I've tried this four times. Any NBA fans, if you know or don't know, too much. Unravel in tennis, which is why we need you on the pod. Um, okay, back on the tennis bun. Don't look at the screen. Oh my god. Okay, it's NBA playoff time and um the Thunder and the Lakers. This is the conference semifinals. Who do you think is leading? Los Angeles, LeBron, James, and Co. or the Thunder?
SPEAKER_00So I'm gonna, I'm not gonna lie, I just I just no, I just do who do you think in the Western Conference semifinals? I started thinking, I started thinking of Rashida. I was like, God, and then Rashida's like, I'm gonna fly back to Orlando. Wi Fi's amazing. Rashida, I stopped listening to her.
SPEAKER_06Rashida, who do you think is leading in the NBA uh semi finals of the Western Conference? Lakers or Thunder? But just pick a team.
SPEAKER_00Lakers.
SPEAKER_06Incorrect. The Thunder are leading 3 0.
SPEAKER_00Who the hell is the Thunder? Oklahoma.
SPEAKER_06So they need public.
SPEAKER_00One more and then who's the all-star player on Thunder?
SPEAKER_06I haven't been watching basketball right now. It's for the people right now. Okay, next. Um, the second one is we have um on the Western Conference, on the other side of the bracket, we have the Timberwolves and the Spurs. Who do you we know somebody from the Spurs, but who do you think is leading that Spurs job? And our friend, um, they're leading two on. It says live, so I'm assuming there's a game tonight, right now, happening. And the Timberwolves are actually pretty good. So that'll be a fun one to watch. On the Eastern Conference. Oh, Shy the Canadian. He's playing for Thunder.
SPEAKER_00Oh, I thought she was calling you Shy and spelling it with an I on my bullets. Oh, that's fun.
SPEAKER_06No, he's Canadian. He's in Toronto, actually. Um, he plays for Thunder. Ooh, no wonder they're up 3-0. He's amazing. Okay, so Eastern Conference. Thanks, Roshina. The Eastern Conference, we have the Detroit Pistons versus the Cavaliers. Cleveland. So who's leading that? What's your guess? Oh, good try. It's 2-1 Detroit, which I'm actually shocked about.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_06And then the next one already has a winner, and it's the Knicks versus the 76ers.
SPEAKER_00So the Knicks.
SPEAKER_06Good job! They won 4-0 in their conference. So they are gonna play the Eastern Conference Finals versus either Detroit or Cleveland, whoever sorts it out. That's kind of exciting.
SPEAKER_00Do you know that I have my Orlando Magic jersey that you gave me from 1010 2010?
SPEAKER_02Oh, 1010.
SPEAKER_00Yes, and I wear it all the time.
SPEAKER_06Good job.
SPEAKER_00I still have it.
SPEAKER_06Orlando Magic, dun, dun.
SPEAKER_00And do you know what player is? Do you know what player it is?
SPEAKER_06Is it JJ Reddick? Lowells.
SPEAKER_00Oh, so hot.
SPEAKER_06How about that? Oh, yeah, he is. But he's the head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers. Did you know that?
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_06Did you know? Which he did not clearly know because you've seen it.
SPEAKER_00I remember. I remember Reddick. I was like, mm-hmm. Basketball is great.
SPEAKER_06Great. He's a good looking guy. And he's the head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers. But you know what's devastating? I'm getting crushed right now. Three.
SPEAKER_00I will be Googling what JJ Redick looks like now.
unknownJJ Reddick.
SPEAKER_06From 2010 to Oh, still? He's he's in dad mode right now. I think. No, I think he looks good.
SPEAKER_00He's dad mode. It was like the sleeve, it was very Beckham-esque. Yeah, the right there, the slip right here. Yeah. Yeah, he was a cutie. Poor guy. He said was. Okay.
SPEAKER_06Okay, moving on. So I've given you guys a lot of WNBA and NBA updates. I've actually fallen off of the NBA bandwagon, but I'm now back.
SPEAKER_00She's back.
SPEAKER_06I'm back because one of our friends is also. Oh, Rashina says he looks the same.
SPEAKER_00I believe it.
SPEAKER_06He doesn't have a dad bot. DJ's always fit, so maybe he's still fit.
SPEAKER_00Our good friend JJ Reddick, ladies and gentlemen. So many good friends of ours.
SPEAKER_06From the pod.
SPEAKER_00That's good.
SPEAKER_06Serena Williams, great friend. JJ Reddick. JJ Reddick, incredible friend.
SPEAKER_00Rishina. Really good friend.
SPEAKER_06The best friend.
SPEAKER_00Like actual friends.
SPEAKER_06She's actually a really friend is Rashina. Correct.
SPEAKER_00This pod we dedicate to Rashina. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06And not our pretend friends that are professional athletes. Correct. Yes. Okay. Okay, so I just wanted to now break into your favorite sport, soccer, football. Which you always own out, you never pay attention, and I have worn the shirt.
SPEAKER_00So Coachai, what is what is this? Oh, you can't say it. Stand up. Arsenal.
SPEAKER_06Yes.
SPEAKER_00Okay, so there was a there was a sign that I saw outside a bar yesterday that I took a picture of that I never sent to you and that. What happened? Where's the visual?
SPEAKER_06But go back on your phone and see what happened. Why are we off the live?
SPEAKER_00Why are we offline on IG, ladies and gentlemen? Please, one moment. It says we are live, but is it?
unknownOh.
SPEAKER_00Well, it this is a bit lag.
SPEAKER_06Okay, it's we're back. We're back, everyone. That was very scary. Okay. So let's talk football as in not American football, as in the world calls soccer football. Hit me. Okay, here's some cool fun facts for you guys. It was an intense and stressful week for Arsenal.
SPEAKER_02Oh.
SPEAKER_06We had two very big matches. Um, the first one, which we spoke to you on Monday, um, when we were live from Miami. They had played Did we tell them this? I think we did. They had played um um they have made the finals of Champions League. Yes. We did not know who they were going to play because that match hadn't been played.
SPEAKER_00But if you are Paris or Bayern Munich. Yes.
SPEAKER_06So if you don't know, now you know it's a song.
SPEAKER_00Um are they playing?
SPEAKER_06They're playing PSG, and that is exactly who we want. Because there was an interview done with um one of the Arsenal players, and they were kind of like asking, you know, who would you really want it to be um if if you had to pick? And he's like, You guys, I'm gonna give you my PR answer, but uh, if you know anything about me, I want it to be the best team. If we're going to win, we have to win against the best. And PSG was the better team and is a better team. Oh, that's good. So yeah, so I'm super, super excited. Do not talk to me at 9 a.m. on May 30th.
SPEAKER_00Because we're all right. May 30th? That's like 20 days away. That's when the game is.
SPEAKER_06And guess where it is? And one of your other favorite no, it's it's it's at a completely different place in Europe. One of your other favorite countries or cities, not Prague this time, but close.
SPEAKER_00Oh, Hungary, Budapest?
SPEAKER_06What a good guess. So May 30th.
SPEAKER_00There's Buddha, and then there's Pesht. You cross a bridge and you're on that side. And then you're separate. Okay, but they come together.
SPEAKER_06When you're getting fuzzy, come closer.
SPEAKER_00And I love it there. It is true.
SPEAKER_06It's beautiful. It's amazing. Um, I wish I was living in London or in Europe right now because you would have gone. Yeah, I would have tried to figure out how I get there. Um, I would just like showed up and just been with the fans outside, even if I didn't have a ticket. Anyways, massive, massive, big, big match. But remember, when I was explaining Champions League to you, there's home and away matches usually. This one is one and done, everybody. May 30th was determined who is going to win and who will be the Champions League winner, which technically in football, you are the world winner because that's all of Europe's best teams have played, and you are the European champion. But they, because the level of football is so high there, technically you're like the best in the world.
SPEAKER_00What about the Argentina and the Brazil?
SPEAKER_06That is called World Cup.
SPEAKER_00I know, but you're saying the level is so high in Europe, it's not as high there.
SPEAKER_06No, no. So, okay, we're taking a step back now. So, World Cup is its own separate entity, has nothing to do with regular football because you have people from a country playing. This is the best teams in Europe playing in the league format that are the best. Okay. So, Arsenal had a tough week. We won. We are in the finals for the Champions League. Champions League aside, now it's time to shift gears because remember, that was all of Europe. Now we're talking Premier League. Premier League is only in England. Woo! He was paying attention. We had to go through this the other day a few times.
SPEAKER_00I was about to get it wrong.
SPEAKER_06So now we need to win and be the best team in Premier League. Currently, this and this works very, very differently than.
SPEAKER_00Ladies and gentlemen, Coach Shannon with our little piece of paper.
SPEAKER_06I need you guys to understand this because if you don't follow Premier League and you don't follow football, I just need to help you understand the intensity of it all.
SPEAKER_00Help me help you.
SPEAKER_06I just spoke to you about the NBA playoffs, right? That's a bracket system. That bracket system, they play best out of seven, they go to the next round. Okay, so we were talking about semifinals, finals, game. What happens in the Premier League is you don't have a semifinals, finals, and a and a game. Every match from the start of the season to the end of the season is extremely important because it's point-based. So you don't actually have a finals. The Champions League is a separate, that is an actual bracket where you have a semifinal final.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_06How it works in the Premier League is it's points based. So currently, right now, we have 79 points. We are leading in the Premier League. When I say we, Arsenal. We second on the table is Man City. Like we don't even want to talk about them, but we do need to tell you what's happening. So Arsenal has 79 points. We have two matches to go. Man City has 74 points, and they have three matches to go. Because we won today, we got three points. My stress levels are a little bit okay right now because we won two massive games this week. So Arsenal's at 79 points. If they win the next two matches, which means you get three points, we will be at 85 points.
SPEAKER_00Coachan, I'm just one You You've checked out. I've checked out.
SPEAKER_06I need to talk to everybody else then.
SPEAKER_00You just beat me. I'm just thinking of like the merch that I want when I'm there next month. It's crazy. I actually I really like Arsenal merch. I wear it to the gym.
SPEAKER_05Where's Sean Bird when you need him? And you and your gym flexing. Like, why isn't Sean Birds?
SPEAKER_00Sean Bird was a dedicated fan. He was. Yeah. Our timing changed.
SPEAKER_06Also, how do you guys feel about our timing? Is it like too late for everybody? But also in the comments.
SPEAKER_00For us, like we can't.
SPEAKER_06Okay, but just let us know in the comments. Okay. Um, I'm just gonna make this very simple. Arsenal has two matches, potential of six more points. We are at 79 points. That'll take us to 85 points. Man City is at 74 points. Potential, they have three more matches, which is nine points potential. Even if they win all three matches, they will only have 83 points. So you're wondering, Arsenal should have already won because 85 is more points than 83, right? 85 points is more than 83 points, right?
SPEAKER_00Like 85 points. I love that you're doing that. I'm just staring at myself on the screen.
SPEAKER_06Okay, but the reason why it's not already determined who's going to win is because if you draw, so if you have one one as a score, you only get one point. So at any point, if Arsenal draws the next two matches, we only get two points. And if Man City win the next three, they get nine points, they screw us and they win the whole thing.
SPEAKER_00And wait for this. And at what point do we start moving on to the next subject and stop talking about this?
SPEAKER_05Talking about points?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Just soccer. Are you done? Or still more?
SPEAKER_06I just needed you guys to understand the pressure of it all.
SPEAKER_00Like we don't.
SPEAKER_06No, they do. People do understand it. So the last match for Arsenal is May 24th. And the last match for Man City is shit. May 24th. So May 24th can absolutely will decide, can decide who will be the Premier League winner, title winner. And then six days later, Arsenal have to play in the Champions League in the finals to also determine. So we have the chance of winning both everybody. It is high stakes out there. It is stressful times in the world of sport and football. We will now move on because my brother's had enough of soccer or football.
SPEAKER_00I really do just stop listening. It's incredible.
SPEAKER_06Tennis, give us, give the people something where you talk.
SPEAKER_00Um tennis.
SPEAKER_06Which happens where?
SPEAKER_00In Paris. It's clay season. It's the big clay tourney. We know Carlos is out. He's got a wrist injury. What we do know, did Rome just happen? It's still happening. It's happening. Rome's happening. All clay, clay, clay.
SPEAKER_06And pause for a second. We will be there next year. I am putting it out there. From the sidelines with Coach Shine and Bauman. We'll be on the sidelines in Rome.
SPEAKER_00Oh, because it's beautiful, it's beautiful. The tournament looks beautiful. The corps incredible.
SPEAKER_06To be there. Monte Carlo and Rome. I would rather do both of those in the French Open.
SPEAKER_00Run Shine is just like hitting up. Yeah. Well, because you've already done the French Open. But I'm just assist. Um back to you. Okay, so what we do know in that the big hoo-ha-ha with Rolling Garros right now is that most tournaments pay the players about 20-ish percent in terms of prize money and all that kind of stuff. So what they earn in a tournament, approximately 20% goes back into the player's pot for all the things. Rolling Garros is the only one that's about at like, I think, 14 or 15%.
SPEAKER_03The French are being cheap.
SPEAKER_00The French are being cheap. They're making more money than ever. This tournament is scheduled to generate over 400 million euros euros. And they are giving them 15%. 15%, and a lot of the players are pissed because a lot of the other player uh tournaments actually do 22%. Pardon me, not 20%. So that's kind of been the big one. Listen, if the big ones don't show up and kind of boycott it, people don't show up. Ticket sales don't work, merch doesn't work, food, like everything doesn't work. Woo!
SPEAKER_06So that's what Sabalanka was going on. That's kind of what the players So I was ego, like that's a bit like I was reading, so I didn't really know what I didn't know the numbers and what was going on. I did know Sabalenka had mentioned that we should boycott, and then I read the next text and it said that ego's like that's a bit aggressive, like that's a bit extreme. Like we don't need to boycott. But when you need to prove a point, you do have to.
SPEAKER_00The French were also the last one to have equal pay for prizing money for men and women.
SPEAKER_06That's annoying.
SPEAKER_00Uh and then the other really annoying thing from last year is that the women's matches are always um, they're never prime time slots, remember? That was the big news. It was like, I don't think they ever show them in the evening or so. Like there's there has it's something to do with that. I can't remember the exact detail right now, but they never get a prime time time slot. And then there's a lot of well then play. Uh they only give it to uh people who play the guys because they play five sets. Like they don't want to have an evening match that ends really quickly with two sets.
SPEAKER_06Come back to this. But what I will tell you, which do you remember last year, um, a lot of the men's matches, like big matches, and even the women's matches were like empty. You would see the stands just come for the team. And do you know why?
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_06So although that lower bowl is like their main sponsors, donors, hospitality, big spenders, and their hospitality is so far from the courts that they would, let's say, walked 20 minutes, for example, to go and enjoy their hospitality. And then by the time they would come to their seats, they would just like enjoy the hospitality so much that they wouldn't bother coming to the matches. So it would just look so empty.
SPEAKER_00It was empty. It was empty. All those matches.
SPEAKER_06So they were talking about um, they were talking about how they had to fix that or figure that out. I remember, remember um Patrick, Serena's old coach, like he did like a whole little piece about it trying to help us understand why it looks so empty, which is why I know this fact. So they need to figure that out because either they need seed fillers, like you do in like award shows, which I feel like a general fan would love that.
SPEAKER_00We would love we would wait in that line would be a fillers, yes.
SPEAKER_06Give the people and the fans the opportunity to figure it out.
SPEAKER_00Charge the fans a nominal amount, donate that money to a charity and do it that way. We love that. Yeah, we love that. Crushed it.
SPEAKER_06Love any other updates from you for um tennis? That's about it. That's all I got. Carlos still out, sad. Well, yeah. Fees, we just saw that he he had to bail. Fees had to tap out. I think he's injured too, so that kind of sucks a little bit.
SPEAKER_00You're playing so many tournaments. How can you not get injured? Too much tennis.
SPEAKER_06Let's hit up our social feeds.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah. Let's hit up the good stuff. Let's hit up the DMs, yo.
SPEAKER_06Not the DMs, but let's hit up, let's can we, yeah.
SPEAKER_00You you share screen. I'd like to talk about this little swatch situation. First. Why not? Sure. Uh, I don't know how to say the Peugeot is like the really high end line. Yes.
SPEAKER_06Um AP, they call it just yeah, sure.
SPEAKER_00AP's great. So they're doing a collab with swatch, which means it brings down the price to 300 to 500. When usually one of these Royal Oak APs is 49.
SPEAKER_03We baby. That's a big number.
SPEAKER_00Um, and so I think it's pretty cool.
SPEAKER_03That's fun. Which one would you get if you had a choice?
SPEAKER_00Uh there's so many, oh, there's so many colors apparently. Like, if you I think there's like tons of colors.
SPEAKER_03Oh, which one would you get?
SPEAKER_00Uh look at like the yellow looks fun. There's a purple that I've seen that I quite like. I do, I mean the cream looks nice too. Oh, it changes straps up. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03But which one would you get?
SPEAKER_00I would get if I could do this color combo, that'd get that orange and blue. Would you this little thing? That's so you. I think it sticks out.
SPEAKER_06I kind of like I like the navy.
SPEAKER_00The navy's nice, but I just think it's fun to get a navy that's better here.
SPEAKER_06Um, it doesn't look like very good on the I don't know. They look kind of fake on this person's wrists.
SPEAKER_00Are these AI? Like, are we sure these are the ones? That's what the images have been popping. Oh my god, I haven't done my research properly. Be right back, please. That's what it looks like. I mean watch an AP collab. I just feel like that's where the pictures have been those ones. Um, yeah, it is the pictures online. Okay, okay, all right.
SPEAKER_06That's fine. Okay, cool. Uh I look at the dark blue and you won the multicolored. Got it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Um, but when we're talking about collaborations and the tempo, if you are now looking at the visuals, we no longer are talking, we're now visual bots. Oh my god, it's a good idea. We've transitioned. I love when the NBA was doing like when they walk down and they do like the outfits. So the WNBA is also doing that. I love just seeing like what everyone's rocking. We love the fit, we love a fit, and we love that Sephora is like right front and center for them. Um, and this is the tempo. This is the first ever fit check, everybody. Um and I love it. I love all of it. Very cute. They did a little walk as well, a slow-mo. She's got a little mermaid feel happening to her. Perfect. Um, the next thing that I wanted to do, a little speaking about outfits and collabs.
SPEAKER_00I'm just busy on swatch.com because now I want to know like, has it come out or will it be coming out? You please proceed with the pause. Those watches look beautiful. Yeah. These are the Omega ones, which actually I think look nice. Beautiful, sir. Okay, please proceed.
SPEAKER_06So another um collab that's happened, which I actually love. And even though I would never rock it because it's Man United, but I wish they did something similar to Arsenal because I would buy this in a heartbeat. So it says Manchester United made the Adidas Chinese New Year's piece their pre-match jacket. And remember how much I was loving this New Year's jacket. Yeah, but they the collab on this is freaking genius. I want it. I will maybe hide their crust, but I would rock it. It's beautiful, and I love every second of that. So I had started that on my feed. Um, if you don't know, now you know is that Barcelona just won La Liga. Barcelona.
SPEAKER_00Barcelona.
SPEAKER_06Barcelona just won La Liga, and our boy, the 18-year-old superstar, it says, has won Yamal wins third La Liga title, passing Cristiano Ronaldo, who only won two with Real Madrid. And the kid is 18, 1-8. People, incredible. Can't wait to see him in the World Cup. I know everyone's gonna be all over that. Then we have this young guy who I actually did not know who he was. He is also he said that um obviously Noah Novak was his idol, but I was like, oh well, everyone says that. No, no, he is from I think Serbia, either Serbia or Czech. And so he like, I think, like obviously everyone idolized Novak growing up. I thought I had another one starred, but um I was just like, you know what? Good for him. So Novak's out quick, easy, fast. This is Rome. Oh boom, boom, boom, bam, bam.
SPEAKER_00Boom, boom, bam, bam. It's what we call Going, going, gone. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Okay. The commercial that stopped everybody else.
SPEAKER_00Oh, nope. It literally hasn't stopped me. I haven't even seen it.
SPEAKER_06The commercial that stopped everybody else that watches sports and football except my brother. The Adidas commercial. Adidas is actually currently crushing everything that I'm seeing.
SPEAKER_00They are playing the game.
SPEAKER_06I just want to say something.
SPEAKER_00Oh God. Oh, here it comes from.
SPEAKER_06Nike.
SPEAKER_00I gotta go.
SPEAKER_06Where are you? Where are you, Nike? I just want to know where are you? Because Adidas in every sport currently is crushing it.
SPEAKER_00Maybe too busy with skims. Nike skims. And like they're not really putting time and effort and energy into regular.
SPEAKER_06What every other sport.
SPEAKER_00Okay, I want to see what's going on here. Share the screen again, please. Benito. I did want the bad, I did want the bad bunny sneaker, but mostly because it's bad bunny, but it was also kind of cute. Okay.
SPEAKER_06How do you feel about Timothy?
SPEAKER_00Timothy had, we were talking about this last night, I think, with our friends at dinner.
SPEAKER_06He had We don't know who he is.
SPEAKER_00Everyone knows who Timothy can't do that.
SPEAKER_06He didn't watch the commercial, so everyone does not know who he is.
SPEAKER_00Timothy Chalamet literally? No, it's not about who he's dating. He's an actor shy. He's in some of the biggest movies there are. Like in Gigant, you'd have to be.
SPEAKER_06I don't know why you're yelling at me, but anyway.
SPEAKER_00People know who he is. And recently, if you didn't know who he was, he made comments about the ballet and the arts and the opera and how he something about the lines of like how he's happy he's not in them because they don't really yeah, they don't really do well. People don't really appreciate them, watch them, et cetera, et cetera. He was scheduled and the front runner to an Oscar this year. Finally, it was gonna happen for him because he's been nominated many times. And that comment alone literally derailed his Oscar run, and he ended up not winning. And our pal, our very good friend of the pod, Michael B. Jordan, won for Sinners, which you haven't seen, and then I just recently saw.
SPEAKER_05Our very good pal.
SPEAKER_00Michael B. Jordan, we talk usually. We text because he's busy, but we very good friend of the pods, and our our good friend MBJ. Um, he Oscar winner.
SPEAKER_06Oscar winner. Yeah. Back to Timothy.
SPEAKER_00Okay, so what's this commercial about?
SPEAKER_06This commercial has an insane budget. Remember the guy on the top of the Remember the World football player. Remember the World Cup Lego budget?
SPEAKER_00Yes. Great, great budget, great.
SPEAKER_06World Cup just dumping money on people. Uh this is a D that's obviously dumping money. Messi is racking it without even playing the sport at the moment. Of course, he gets crazy money. We have Bad Bunny, we have Messi, we have who else is the single one. They have every oh Trinity Rodman, which I'm so happy. They have a female athlete in there. Zidane Beckham. It's just insane. So they did like a five-minute commercial. And it's like a movie.
SPEAKER_00It's like a basically a mini movie movie.
SPEAKER_06It's a mini-movie. So you do have to go watch that, but you don't have to.
SPEAKER_00But what can you just tell us what it's kind of like?
SPEAKER_06No, you should just watch it. It's great.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god, coach won't tell us anything.
SPEAKER_06I will not give it up. And there it is. Sabalenka and Sviatech.
SPEAKER_00Boycotting slams. And they're not gonna boycott them because they desperately want those slams, but they just they're just being loud right now.
SPEAKER_03Which is good.
SPEAKER_00What did you think of all the lips you saw in Miami?
SPEAKER_03Right. Looking at Sabalenka's lips reminded you that we were in Miami last week.
SPEAKER_00We enjoyed F1. We enjoyed Miami. We enjoyed Miami. Weather was great. It was hot. We were so housing away. We were working remotely. We had a very we had a lot We worked a lot.
SPEAKER_06People are like, you don't work. And I'm like, We worked only if you guys see the amount of work, at least I do. He actually worked a lot. Like you were, we were what was it, 8 a.m. to 5 30, and that's that was annoying, stupid computer. Because you just look at sunshine, you look at the pool and the beach.
SPEAKER_00But we did get to party. I mean, we didn't get to party. Oh my god, your good friend Ja Rule. Ja. Coach Shannon Ja go way back. They talk golf.
SPEAKER_06We uh this is actually.
SPEAKER_00She actually did talk golf.
SPEAKER_06This is a true story, everybody. Um, last year at the PGA show, which is our national golf conference. Every year happens in Orlando, always in January. I'm always there, except for this year because fractured ankle had me at a commission. So 2025 January, we were there. They have this um like round table and a few guest speakers for minorities in golf. And I obviously go every year to hear what's happening and show support, et cetera, et cetera. This year, all of a sudden, last year, sorry, all of a sudden, I look at the stage and we have Ja Rule on stage. And I tap the girl beside me and I'm like, I'm sorry, is that Ja Rule? And she's like, Yeah, and I'm like, what is he doing on stage? What does he have to do?
SPEAKER_00Anything with golf? What is he doing there?
SPEAKER_06Correct. And so then there was like these social media people talking about this thing and trying to help us, whatever. There's like a chat happening, and he was in the back of it. And then we had an ex-NBA player who's now a golfer, anyways. He was on stage too, but it made more sense for him to be on there. So while every when everything ends, Jar Rule. I don't know why I'm telling this to everybody, but here we are. Jar Rule is um, we are now headed outside. There's like a break happening, we're all being a little too loud. The other guest speakers are there. So a group of us step outside because we now have to go to other conferences. And Jar Rule's out there and he's being very kind. People are people are actually nervous to ask him for photos. And I see him standing by himself, a little bit awkward, and I felt bad because I felt this is the energy that I was feeling. I felt that people didn't want to engage with him because he's a celebrity. In my eyes, everyone is a human being and normal, so I have no fear going up to anybody and starting a conversation.
SPEAKER_00The Firefest.
SPEAKER_06Anyways, and so I felt bad for him. And I went up to him and I was like, Hey, what brings you to the conference? Small talk. He told me he was a golfer, he was playing the game, he was addicted, XYZ. Great. That helped other people come up to me to talk to me, and I was like, Oh, have you met Jar Rule? And and then one of the girls, you met Yeah, like, hey, so and so, have you met Ja Rule? I was just being nice. And then um, one of the girls comes up to me and goes, Shall I take a picture of me? And I'm like, absolutely take a picture with Ja Rule, and then then things started flowing, and we started changing.
SPEAKER_00Rule.
SPEAKER_06And so we had like a lovely conversation, very humble person, down to earth. It was great. Spoke maybe for an hour, hour and a half, however long that was. And it just felt like a nice little golf community of people just talking and taking the status levels away of if you're a celebrity, not a celebrity, whatever that is. Great. That's what we love about golf because it puts everyone on an even playing field. If you're president or a janitor, it doesn't matter. The game is so hard that it literally puts you in the same playing field. That's one of the best parts about golf. And so then we're in Miami, and he is supposed to perform um at the space that we were in. And I'm like, oh my gosh, Bun, I had a full conversation with him a year ago. And he's like, Shy, just don't even start.
SPEAKER_00I'm like, Because all of a sudden he was just right in front of us at 10 a.m. Like there.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, and I'm like And so don't start. I'm like, fine. So we walk away. Okay, later that evening at 6 p.m., I had to go and change out of the bathing suit. So I had gone up, I was going up to change, and in this like gentleman presenting Jar Rule in the hallway, coming off the um elevator, and as no, he's actually downstairs talking to his friends, and I would I was just like tired walking in, about push the elevator button, and I look at him like, oh, hey, and I started talking to him like we were friends about golf, about golf, and you know what? 45 minutes later, he had very patient. We spoke fully about golf, we spoke about the masters because I was wearing an Azalea shirt, just genuinely nice person, and then we and side note ripped you guys on because he's ripped, like beyond rip, like neck muscles, back muscles, the whole thing is not like an injection kind of ripped. He's working hard on his body. I was my mind, I was blown away.
SPEAKER_00But also the girls in Miami.
SPEAKER_06Oh, the lips. We're back to the lips.
SPEAKER_00Tits, ass, and abs. And they all have the same doctor.
SPEAKER_04Good doctor.
SPEAKER_00Great doctor.
SPEAKER_04But all the same. They all had crazy abs.
SPEAKER_00I want I want the abs.
SPEAKER_04You want the doctor?
SPEAKER_00I I need I need the name of the doctor. Who are we getting our abs done from? Yeah, that was a bit strange.
SPEAKER_06Oh, it's they all look like the same thing. It was the same body on every single but is that like attractive to people, all the same? Like who do you pick? The same person? Yeah. I guess. It's my idea.
SPEAKER_00But um, it was tight. It was toned. It was a lot of money, honey. There was a lot of money.
SPEAKER_06It was not it was not my body, that's for sure. Not tight or toned, but we were gonna have a great time.
SPEAKER_00We had a great time. Not tight or toned.
SPEAKER_06Yes. On that note, uh, we hope you really enjoyed the podcast today.
SPEAKER_00We've covered a lot of. You know what? We are not tight or toned because we're about to go eat dinner. A lot of sushi. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Um, okay, so let me just do a nice ending. Okay. Okay. Thank you all so much for listening or watching. SPEAKER_06You had one more person.
unknownWe have so many.
SPEAKER_00Michael B.
