So it kind of sucked that it wasn't a home match, it was an away matches and they held it and they got to do the celebration there, and the fans were going crazy. But your younger brother he came up, he he gave this to me, and I freaked out. I said tight, and it's like a good, thick quality scarf, too. I freaked out. I said it's probably the one of the best presents I've ever received, and I'm actually speechless. And you know, I don't really get speechless from too many things in life. But this one Championes Championess Gorge. You know what? You love a good Arsenal merch, so we will be obviously going to the shop when we're there in less than a month. Um, but this one was a good one.

And I just got like really excited because obviously, no, not too many people know too much about it here.

I mean they do, but not to the level of a I walked by a bar randomly again downtown a couple of days ago, and it was fully it the it's where they play the Arsenal, show the Arsenal game. So every British person and their dog was there with their jerseys, and it they were doing the they were singing out loud. What night? This was a few nights ago when one of the games was on. They were doing the full thing. Um, it was going on and on. Yeah, people were loving it. They were absolutely loving it.

Um, and she said tons of other people were invited, but they couldn't make it, but it's all love. So the two of them hosted a um for it's his first time ever co-hosting a dinner party. And let me tell you, no better company to share it with. And it was it was essentially invite the black tennis players were invited um to Soho Paris, which is funny. Um, and they hosted this beautiful like evening for them because they were their essentially Osaka's feedback was that it's quite hard to be um an African American playing tennis. And um, even though they're such amazing athletes and all done incredible, it they still get a lot of grief from people, from fans, they feel very like excluded time to time. It's just not easy um showing up and being there. And sometimes, you know, people still, if they don't have their credential, might be like, Oh, you don't belong here. This is only for like I was listening to some of the interviews, and I'm like, this is it's the fact that it's still happening, it's so sad to me. Um, but this is the kind of the only way to kind of bring light to it. And imagine Monphi back then, at least the like all these girls are quite young, but imagine him and James Blake. Remember, like how many people can you can you name Monfee? James Blake.

Yeah, um, so yeah, so I it's just tough, right? I think that it's I always talk about how tough it is in golf, but tennis is just as bad. And so I'm really happy that she did that. They both did that and they brought like attention to it. So in one of the interviews, I was listening to Naomi. What um, so you know the girls only did like 15-minute interviews. Did you see that? Did you did you cat did you catch that at all? Okay, so like the WTA players, remember you addressed it last week that there was um that Roland Garros wasn't paying them enough. All the other tournaments were paying people, I think the athletes 20%. Roland Garros, for example, decided to do it was like 12% or something of the revenue, um, or less. Obviously, it was a lot less. So there they had boycotted media, and then they said, Okay, it's not the media's fault, it's the tournament's fault. So, why are we um, you know, it's not fair to the media. So, what they did was, and I saw I saw Coco doing it. She put a timer on and she said, I'm in solidarity with the rest of the women, and I am also gonna do only 15 minutes of interviews. You start your time starts now, and she goes, and then at the very end, she goes, Oh, well. We only have one minute. So whoever wants me, ask me the last question. So she did that, Ika did that, Sabalanka did that. So that's the ones I saw. I'm sure a lot more of them did that. So listen to Sabalanka's because it's like, okay, what does she have to say? And she said, you know, it's not about me. I'm the number one player in the world. I get paid. I've, you know, it's for the younger girls where it's so hard for you to come up. And sponsorship money is a lot less. Tournaments you're not winning, but you know, you're all of your money is going back into tennis, and their their livelihood depends on this money. So she's like, it's not about me. I'm actually here and speaking up for the rest of the girls that are working just as hard to try and make it up the ranks and the younger girls so the tournament is fair. So I loved that part. Out of everything, I respected her saying, Don't worry about me. Like and it might have my good for her.

I feel like that one needed to be private, like maybe they need to have like a time or a zone where the mics are off and it's not shown to everyone because I mean, not too long ago, coaches weren't even allowed to talk to players, so now it's a little too much, I think, that they're sharing with us. Um, I know some people aren't gonna like it because, like, well, it's views. Remember, my my take also was in the back when Coco went to a private area and smashed her racket, all the cameras, and Sabalenka went to the room out, remember, in US Open and somebody like leaked it. So um the players need privacy, also. The sort of the coaches and every relationship with player coach is very different. Some sometimes speaking very direct and very face value, I guess, works for some people to motivate them to get the pep in the step and to perform. Sometimes it doesn't. So obviously, hopefully, the coach knows their player in order to know how to speak to them. In Layla's case, it's her father, so it's like double whammy and it's very difficult, just like Ben Shelton. And I think that that is actually the hardest. And so is I think Zwerv's dad and brother are in the box. And coaching. I just think think about one of us coaching the other. I think it's really difficult. I don't know how long the relationship lasts because it's hard to cut out coach and then become a sister or be a coach and then become a father. It's like that line, you have to really have the rules of not bringing everything to the dinner table. Um, so, anyways, he wasn't screaming at her. So I'll give him that. He wasn't screaming, he was talking in a tone like this. And he just said to her, He but he was just laying the fact. You are sucking right now. You are where is your top spin? Where is your spin? You are giving this girl everything for her just to crush you indirectly. That's kind of what he was saying. He's like, Do you even want to be out here and play? Like, do you want to even want to play tennis? And maybe that maybe would have sparked something in someone to be like, uh, yeah, I'm gonna go out and crush her now or whatever. But where he took it to a whole different level was the the last jab to me, I think, got me. He said, I understand that Vicky is a top 10 player in the world, and she is consistent and she doesn't make many mistakes, and she is a girl who shows up every tournament in the quarterfinals. Something you haven't done in the last four years. That one just took me over the edge.

So I think that the earlier part of what he was saying, like, where is your spin or something he was saying, and your where's your slice? Your slice is garbage right now. Like, why are you hitting your slice? Like, I need you just to be like, the next four points need to look like backhand, backhand. Just move your feet and backhand, or whatever those two things are that I need to work on that maybe I'm not able to see myself or understand what the opponent give me those two things, and I think that's probably how I coach as well. That's how I coach golf because it's like 70 things in a golf swing that you need to know and your movement and this and that and the other. But I'm just like, give me a solid follow-through, and I want all your body weight on your left side. So if someone just told me, give me a solid, so I do that to you sometimes when your back kind of always act up. I'm like, you're too close, and you're just like hitting everything so fast, or whatever. I give you that one thing. I'm like early preparation, and then you crush them. So it's like that one or two things that we really need.
