Episode 25 - Kellie Lupsha: What If Your Next Decade Feels Better Than Your Last
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Every so often, someone enters this space who doesn't just follow the science — she leads with it. Our guest this week, Kellie Lupsha, is one of those people.
She began her career at the highest level of clinical medicine, earning her Master's in Physical Therapy at Mayo Clinic — one of the most respected medical institutions in the world. She went on to found and lead OC Neuro Rehab in Orange County, California, where she spent years helping people rebuild the body and the brain after the kind of setbacks most of us can't imagine.
But she didn't stop at recovery. She became fascinated by a bigger question: not just how do we heal, but how do we activate the body to thrive for decades? That question led her to the cutting edge of nutrigenomics the science of how we speak to our own genes — and into her work today as a high-performance health coach and longevity strategist, and the host of the "Thriving in Midlife" podcast, where she helps ambitious women who are done chasing symptoms finally feel extraordinary.
She is one of the clear leaders of the activation movement, and her philosophy is simple and powerful: everything starts at the cellular level. When you activate the cell, we become well.

Welcome And New Tuesday Release
SPEAKER_01Hello everyone, and welcome to Hip Talks. I'm your host, Catherine Hinchy. I'm a certified hypnotherapist, NLP practitioner, and Sherub Senior Certified Professional in Human Resources. After spending a decade working in the music industry, my path led me into the world of the healing arts, where science, energy, mindset, and transformation all meet. Each week, I sit down with a different healing practitioner to explore the many powerful modalities available to support our growth, well-being, and personal evolution. So come with me on this journey of discovery and learn about all the opportunities for healing and transformation that are available to all of us. But first, I want to welcome you to our new release date on Tuesdays. And so this is our first Tuesday episode release, and this one is a little bit different. This week I'm doing a co-podcast recording with Kelly Lupsha of Thriving in Midlife. And I think you're gonna find this one really interesting. Kelly is doing some really cool stuff with women and health. And uh so stay tuned and listen. And don't forget to follow me on Hip Talks. And if you like the show, follow Kelly and Thriving in Midlife and give us a rating. Anytime you follow and rate, it really makes a difference in the algorithms. So keep listening and enjoy the show. Hello everyone, I'm Catherine Hingey, the host of Hip Talks, and I'm here today with Kelly Lupsha. So fun to be with you. So fun to be with you, Kelly. It's so funny because we met not too long ago, but we met together in a workshop as part of Kathy Heller's circle. And we were in a breakout Zoom room together, and you are just filled with all kinds of information as you've been with me today. And so here we are creating our podcasts and sharing our ideas together. And we're really excited about this.
SPEAKER_00It's it's truly amazing. You know, what I've realized is we all as human beings need to find our own community. And sometimes it's hard in the navigating, like, oh, growing up, and I'm always with other people that are like the parents of my kids, you know, their parents, or or I'm just with. So finding a community like Kathy Heller's puts like-minded women together that can support each other, help each other grow, and you're gonna meet amazing people. So I think this is the beautiful thing about sharing our podcasts in our community is our communities are always looking for other communities. And what I know is a healthy community equals longevity. And what we're really looking out
Why Community Supports Longevity
SPEAKER_00there in the world is not to ever live longer, but to be in this longevity lifestyle of feeling our best as we're living life, living it to the fullest and having this extraordinary life, which is so capable, but we do it best in community.
SPEAKER_01Absolutely. And I love that in community, being able to lift each other up is been just, you know, it's just so special and so wonderful. And you're right, there are so many communities that you can be involved in, but the Kathy one with like-minded women has really been life-changing for me, frankly. So Kelly, talk to my audience a little bit. Introduce yourself, tell us who you are and and what you do and all of that.
SPEAKER_00Yes, thank you so, so much. So, currently, I'm a high performance health coach for women in this midlife era, a longevity strategist, but I wasn't always one. I've kind of slowly transitioned to this over the past five or 10 years. But the past three to four years, now I've been full all in in this business. But prior, I'd been a physical therapist and I've been a physical therapist for 30 years. I had an incredible career. I started working, you know, as a young therapist in hospitals. I ended up then running hospitals. I left that. I became the owner of my own private practice with my husband. And it was such a gift and blessing to help people recover their lives. And the people we served had traumatic brain injury, stroke, concussion, brain tumors, neurological disorders. It was life-altering. So to help them get their health back and their life back was absolutely such a gift. But I really realized that this was a physical job. It was a very emotional job. Um, when you own your own practice, you don't really like leave it when you go home at night. And I was like, I've given my power away to everybody else but me and my family for way too long. I continue want to serve, I continue want to help people, but also in a way that I do. I want to build a business that helps create freedom in my life and that I'm always not tied down to
Kelly’s Path From PT To Coaching
SPEAKER_00something. And so as I went from my 40s into my 50s, I'm like, I want to help women do navigate this life that I navigated. Because people are always like, Kelly, there's no way you're 54. How are you so vibrant? Have so much energy. What did you do or what are you doing? And I really realized I have something to share because no longer do we just have to say, oh, I'm just aging, oh, I'm getting older, oh, whatever my family has, I'll have it too. We now know that we're more control of our life than we ever thought before. So it's such a blessing now to be here um sharing information on podcasts, sharing my programs with women, um, you know, all around the world.
SPEAKER_01Wow, that's a great story. And did you get into physical therapy? Like what brought you to be in service in the first place?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's a great question. I was always like a scholar athlete growing up. So I always loved school, I always loved athletics. Um, my dad tried to lead me down the path to become a physician. And I just never wanted to be a doctor. Just wasn't really exactly what I wanted to do. And through all of my athletics, I myself had had a few injuries over time, had to go through some physical therapy. And kind of at this pivotal time when I was trying to decide what I wanted to do, my my mom had a back injury and went through PT. My brother had knee surgery, went through PT. And I had something, you know, something with my ankle. And it helped all of us. And I was like, I want to like, that's so cool. It's sciencey, it's hands-on. I really wanted to help people from the standpoint of like my hands versus with the pill. And that's when I realized, oh my gosh, the field of physical therapy is so amazing. And it's not just for athletes. I first thought I would go in to do sports medicine orthopedics. Once the world kind of my eyes got opened of everything that physical therapy was possible, I just fell in love with the recovery of the brain, truly. And now I just obsessed with brain health overall. So that's kind of really been my journey. And I love it now because as we're this aging woman, brain health is one of the most important things that we need to preserve.
SPEAKER_01Absolutely. Absolutely. As a hypnotherapist, I focus on brain health all day.
SPEAKER_00Yes, right. I mean, it's such, it's absolutely true. So, same thing, Catherine. Like your audience knows you very well. Obviously, you're brand new to my audience. You were in the corporate world for years, and you've just recently left and took this shift. So I'd love you to tell them what was your background a little bit. What made you say, I'm gonna do it, I'm gonna make this shift, right? And then also what made you like drew you to hypnotherapy?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, thank you. Um, all good questions. So my journey zigdon's act. So I went to school, I have a degree in acting from NYU, which is ridiculous. But I was an actress for many years, and I became very disenchanted with acting because once I was in the real world of it, it was not creative anymore. People were more concerned about my manicure than about what I could bring to the table in terms of characters I could develop. And um, so I I flipped, I went to the other side, I did film production and casting. And then I got to a point where it was, I want to be able to have a child, I want to have a family. So I can't be working uh, you know, seven days a week, 24 hours a day and film sets and other places. I like I need to get something else. So I went into the corporate world um and got a job, just like a job job um as a legal secretary and took advantage of all those benefits and all that time. And, you know, I went through sort of a heartbreaking fertility journey, but I ended up getting my beautiful son Henry. He's now 15, and I'm so grateful. And while I was doing that, and and just, you know, I was trying to lead the law firm,
Catherine’s Career Shift After Cancer
SPEAKER_01find what I really wanted to do next. And a recruiting friend of mine asked me to go on this interview at OzCap uh as a favor to him. And I went and I just absolutely fell in love with the CEO. Well, she wasn't the CEO yet, she was the general counsel. I fell in love with her. I really connected. My interview with her was nearly two hours just connecting. And I thought, you know, I really don't want to be an assistant, but here's somebody I feel like I could really learn a lot from, and I could probably have you know a lot of room for growth. And both of those things were absolutely true. Within a year, she was the CEO. Within a year and a half, I was her chief of staff. And it just went from there. Then I went back and got certified in HR at Sherom as a senior certified professional. And then I brought that knowledge and my um, you know, my executive position to create life at ASCAP. And that was, you know, an umbrella for a myriad of different employee programs, including the leadership mentor program, which I ran for five years, which was an absolute joy and loved it. But we also did things like the employee jam sessions and the volunteer programs, like all lots of lots of different things. And so then I ended up moving over into HR and kind of being a dual role with Chief of Staff and HR. And then in 2021, at sort of the height of my physical health, though, so I thought I had just turned 50 and I just PR'd in the Broad Street run race in Philadelphia. 10 mile race did my fastest, and I was thinking, I'm on top of the world. And you know, 10 days later was diagnosed with breast cancer, and it doesn't run in my family, and I, you know, who knows? Who knows? It's there's an epidemic now. But so that really began a tailspin for me. My health, my mental health, my personal life kind of imploded, my marriage was falling apart. Um, and it just was all these things sort of culminating into what am I doing? What am I doing with my life? What's happening here? So I quit my job and I didn't know what I was gonna do next. And quite by accident, I came across a hypnotherapist on Instagram, of course, as we do find our people these days. And she helped me so much. And it was during one of our um sessions where we were focusing on what my path was going to be next, because I really didn't know, and I was considering lots of different avenues, and it was just this light bulb moment where it was, oh, I know I want to do what makes people feel as good as you just made me feel. And she was like, Great. And I said, Well, where do I go to do that? She said, I'm in Canada. I said, Okay, well, I am in the US, so I need to figure it out. And I found HMI, which is where I studied, and um, I did the full year um certification program, and then I did the follow-up year, which I just graduated from, which was the AOS in mind body psychology. I've been in practice now for about a year, and here I am. That's my story.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god. I mean, honestly, what I love is the human being, the human spirit either is growing or dying. Yeah. And for most of the time, kind of after some sort of college or job or in our midlife, this love of learning and growing ourselves, like just has disappeared. And what I think we both were sharing is as you keep like, what's the next version of me? Who am I gonna become? What am I like? It's this forever thing of this new renditions of ourselves becoming a better version of ourselves, but it takes um confidence, it takes self-esteem, it takes the I can do it, it takes I'm gonna figure it out, it takes, it takes a little bit of that grit to say, yes, I am gonna do it. And I think what's interesting is I did not know your story about breast cancer and just sending you lots of you know, love and healing, and it's not a story that's uncommon. No. And honestly, I started seeing in my 40s, friends and women around me were either getting breast cancer or autoimmune, or maybe a different kind of cancer. And I'm like, what is happening? And I kind of started realizing that we are all in the era of hustle and grind. You can do more, do anything. So when we have those opportunities in the world that maybe our, you know, mothers and grandmothers didn't have, we didn't take away other responsibilities. It was we just took it all on. Yeah, pile it on. Pile it on, pile it on, the badge of busyness. I can do more, I can take more, no boundaries, yes to everything. Um, and we also grew up in that strange transition of there was no such thing as eating packaged meals and fast food before. But in our generation, it was, oh, for to make your mother's job easier, we've got this Pop-Tart. To make your mother's job easier, we've got this pre-packaged snackable food for lunch. And so we probably didn't all have the best nutrition that we could have had leading into taking this world on. And we've landed where we are. And I became so passionate about it of if we can't teach us women to take a beat, to pause, to be present in our life, we will all end up sick and dying a very young
Hustle Culture, Stress, And Illness
SPEAKER_00life. Because the world we're living in is a very toxic, unwell, unhealthy place for the overall. So we need to make our home, our environment ones that heal.
SPEAKER_01You know, I I appreciate what you're saying so much. And one of the things that happened while I was in school is I I began this spiritual quest that I completely did not anticipate or expect. And I think that happens to a lot of people in their midlife, um, where you're you're seeking and looking for more. And within that um spiritual quest, it's beginning to understand we are not put here for all of that hustle and grind. That is not the point at all. You know, it's really um, you know, as Kathy Heller talked today on her um talk about Leo and how it's the the month of the sun and how we're really meant to shine. We're here to shine, right? And that, you know, what if God were to say to us, and and if and if you don't believe in God or the universe were to say, Well, I'm so glad that you stopped apologizing for this gift that I gave you, and you can just shine. And so it's become uh life-changing. And I think that anybody who's on that grind and getting sick, um you you're gonna see that more and more people are coming into this sort of like, oh, well, there's gotta be something more. And I really believe that, yeah, that's that's true. And what a shame that um we've we've put so much pressure for what, you know, for what?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Oh my gosh. Well, let's kind of as you know, as you went into the world of hypnotherapy, I I absolutely love that. And it really bridges over so many of the mentors and people that I have learned from and are my teachers, obviously Kathy being one of them. I love Dr. Joe Dispenza. And when women come to me to get help, they don't like they're still stuck in the checklist and the and tell me what to do. And I'm like, let me not tell you what to do. Let's take away that have to and shoulds and must for a moment and say, if you could create how you want to feel, what would that already be? And if you could change your belief about, I am a healthy person. I am somebody that can easily lose weight, I am somebody that has energy all day long. I am somebody that feels fabulous in my skin. I am somebody that is a capable of taking care of not only my kids, but my grandkids. And I see myself in 20, 30 years, still hiking or skiing or whatever it may be, right? But we have to create this version of whom do we want to be? Because what we're thinking and feeling and acting today is what's going to show up in 10 and 20 and 30 years from now.
SPEAKER_01Wow, Kelly, you are a hypnotherapist. I love it. And an NLP practitioner, know your outcome.
SPEAKER_00Oh my gosh. All right. So we'll talk more about that. Um, but what's really interesting is what I've learned is in our busyness of our day, that's just the hardest time. And most of the time, our programs, if you're working with somebody, if I'm working with somebody, it's at two o'clock, it's at three o'clock, it's at 10 a.m., our brain is already going. But really, what we find is that to actually access the subconscious mind to be able to create these new neural connections, it's that first thing in the morning when we're a little bit in twilight, right? And we could go all through the stages of brain waves, but I'll kind of leave that aside for now. And it's that first thing in the morning, and then it bridges the gap at the end of the day when we're starting to fall that asleep of the perfect time to tell ourselves the beautiful things about us and who we're blessing and this version of ourselves. Because just like we every day decide, what am I gonna wear today? We can decide how we want to feel, how you wanna, you know, behave and act. Because over time, this the way you think and feel is gonna determine what you do, which is gonna determine your ultimate personality. And so if you want to start changing things, right? Don't just think it's gonna change. We have to change. And the easiest window to change is in these opportunities of the subconscious mind. So hypnosis
Best Times To Rewire Beliefs
SPEAKER_00falls right in line with all of that. A hundred percent. For my audience, it's like hypnosis. Ooh, that's weird. I don't know. Like it's not, it's not weird. So I'm like, let's just like dismiss all that right now. Share with people what does that mean? It doesn't mean someone's gonna take control of you. It doesn't mean like, I don't know. I think people have a lot of false notions of what it is and what what why what you get the benefits of what it does.
SPEAKER_01Absolutely. Thank you. That was a lovely softball. You just loved me. So hypnosis is a natural state that we all go in and out of all day long, actually. And you have to go through hypnosis when you fall asleep at night, and you have to come back through it when you come back in the morning. So that brainwave state you described it as twilight, that's hypnosis. But you know, so is when you are driving and you get to your destination and you think, oh my gosh, I don't even remember the last three turns I took to get here. That's a very common form of hypnosis, but so is getting engaged in a television program or lost in a book or lost in thoughts, you know. Hypnosis is a very suggestible state, which is why it is really helpful to make those neuropathway changes when you're in that suggestible state of hypnosis. The other thing is if you're doing these practices, you're typically, and I always encourage folks to write with pen and paper, because when you connect your hand to your writing, then you're connecting to your subconscious mind. And so you're taking advantage of the suggestible time state. If you're doing it before you're going to bed at night, wonderful time to do your gratitude practice, connecting it to something that happened that
What Hypnosis Is And Isn’t
SPEAKER_01day that you're grateful for, something that your critical mind won't reject as, oh yeah, everything is awesome. Right. No, but something real that happened that you you you feel grateful for, you're writing it down in that twilight state, then you're going to sleep and you're really beginning to start to counteract the mind's negativity bias that we all have. But doing it in a way that feels authentic. Then in the morning I love to have people do the Kathy Heller suggestion of setting the day and before you get out of bed, before you even open your eyes if you can. And if you're spiritual connect with your spirit at that moment you know and if you're not then just go ahead and say what it is that what your intention is for the day how it's going to be because that is so important because your subconscious mind anytime you say the words I am or I will it's like an instruction right so if you're saying to yourself and the subconscious mind is like oh okay we'll got it we'll do that and it's uh it doesn't know the difference between fantasy and reality which is why hypnosis is really good especially like imagery and hypnosis and it doesn't have a sense of humor. So it's so important to watch those words I am and I will what you say to yourself. And if you say in the morning I am planning to have a wonderful day or I um to steal Kathy's I can't wait to be delighted and surprised by the universe today which is a lovely one then you're really you know you're really bringing that forth into your life that's what you're going to look for and the universe is say oh that's what she's asking for.
SPEAKER_00Okay here you go. Oh my God. It's you know it's so fascinating because if you haven't, if you don't have a big spiritual background, if you haven't been taught to have I'll even say you know maybe long ago a lot of people were taught to have prayer time, quiet time. Nowadays we're talking about are you journaling? Are you in mindfulness, right? I think mindfulness gets thrown around too much for people but at the same time then I think meditation gets the bad rap of like you got to be a monk and go sit and cross your legs for two hours. I'm like all right let's like stop all of that we just mean can you have moments of your day that you drop everything else quiet yourself down feel your senses like sometimes you can drop into the you know what am I seeing what am I smelling what am I tasting what am I hearing it's like drop into the body drop into me get out of the cortisol rush fight or flight and find that loving spirit because love right is the the most the person that has the most loving heart and is is the biggest person in the room. Love is that attraction love is that the energy that that keeps on that people want to be around. And so even if you're having a hard day or a hardship or you've injured yourself or something's going on, if you can still say amongst all of that, I I am healing right now and I will be okay and this will pass, I still can be loved and am loved and to share love, just having all that positiveness and bringing your cortisol down, you're gonna have to be less high risk of high blood pressure, less high risk of metabolic issues with insulin and glucose, right? Less apt to have cells go rogue um and turn into other negative things. It is just so powerful the connection of the mind to the physical body and the ailments that show up based on the the previous instructions we've been giving it.
SPEAKER_01A hundred percent you can be more right about that. And I always like to say especially to these women who are high achieving uh having it all doing it all doing it all for everyone around them I'm tell them please do yourself a favor and do nothing if you are going on a vacation just float in the pool don't read don't go on your phone don't multitask just look at the clouds do nothing for 15 minutes every day and just come back to yourself and that's really the best way to give to yourself is you know to give to everybody else is to not deplete yourself. The mind and the body are absolutely connected and you know it's interesting um we could talk about this and Dr. Jodisbenza talks a lot about this right and so how responsible am I for my breast cancer right you could go down a rabbit hole and more than doing that and rather than doing that and like the breast cancer patients that I work with we're not gonna do that because that's not helpful that's not productive but instead let's take let's take control and charge now now with what it is let's heal ourselves now let's you know bring it um bring it forward to where we want to be and um and I think a lot of that starts with those quiet moments.
SPEAKER_00Absolutely when when you know I I was also a probably very much like you a go go go do it all person and there was a very clear moment in my life when my husband was driving from Orange County down to San Diego and in that drive you're along the coast and it's so beautiful and he calls me and he's like oh my God and you gotta go outside right now like there's the most gorgeous sunset and I was in the middle of something I can't even tell you what I was in the middle of nothing that important but I was like what are you doing calling me you want me to go outside like I I'm busy and I'm like oh my gosh like I have been so disconnected from the beauty and nature and things how did I learn this how did I become this and I always say I think my world if you look at a scale from like zero to 10 I was living feeling seeing on a scale of four to six. So very much gray zone. And I finally was like oh my gosh I I when you can open that aperture and and see life and nature and trees and around us and beauty and my breath and then you see color and things are like oh my gosh my life isn't techno color oh my gosh my
Boundaries, Nature, And Feeling Alive
SPEAKER_00feelings I'm feeling right you could take one from Brene Brown who says like we all typically say have like three feelings we have oh my God no you've got awe and you've got delight and you've got I'm like oh my I haven't I I remember experience these in as as a kid but I can't even remember as an adult the last time I had that. And over this transformation I kind of created it for myself because my dad died of cancer at 68. And so I was like okay my kiddos heart don't hardly even remember him and I could that could happen to me too. So therefore what am I gonna change if I want my life to change what am I gonna change and I was like all right this is it no more giving my power away I'm gonna set boundaries I'm gonna enjoy the day I'm gonna have a cup of tea I'm gonna and it's like oh my God just giving yourself permission I'm like ah I feel like a million bucks the whole the weight of the world came off my shoulders and why did I why was I even carrying the weight of the world it wasn't mine to carry those in the first place but somehow we get stuck in doing that. And my real thing is if you don't start making the change you will end up as the book The Body Keeps a score you will end up with something that you don't want.
SPEAKER_01We are all under a state of dis-ease some of us just a little bit of dis-ease some of us have so much dis-ease it's about to tip into disease right and are you that next person that's gonna tip into disease and you touched on a really good point which is what are we teaching our children about what you know because we learned it although our generation was different we we both learned it and created it yeah that's right so um but you know what are we passing on to the next generation in terms of what's the purpose why are we here you know is it to take medicine when you know whenever we have something to counteract something that's happening or is it to to live and to live fully and to live joyfully and um yeah yeah it's a big one.
SPEAKER_00It's a big one. Tell just share obviously your audience at knows and I'm sure many of them have gone through hypnosis or very much aware of what it is but maybe just for somebody who doesn't know yet if somebody were starting with you what would be just some like an overview tell somebody someone comes and says can I have a discovery call I'm curious about what this looks like what would you share to people absolutely well first I would share what I shared before which is what hypnosis is and then I also talk about what it isn't.
SPEAKER_01It isn't mind control. It's not get out it's not like the movies and um it's not something that I do to you. It's not magic wand. It's not like I can go poof and you're changed. I wish I could that would be amazing I would be I would be so it's the fairy dust everyone's looking for right and what I always say to people is in order for you to really be successful changing those neural pathways with hypnosis it takes two really important elements the first one is the willingness the willingness to change because change is uncomfortable and our mind doesn't want us to change it wants to keep us safe keep us in homeostasis they call it and so the willingness to to do that to open up to change is the first and foremost and so anybody that's me and my husband he
What Working With A Hypnotherapist Takes
SPEAKER_01needs to quit smoking I want to send him to you and I'm like I can't help him you know he's got to be a 10 out of 10 want to quit before I can help him you know and then it's easy. The other thing that it takes is the law of repetition and that's just like any new practice or habit for the most part people need to come for a few sessions and I even have clients that come weekly or months like any other therapy um and like we work we uncover something here and then we begin to unpeel the onion over here. However the law of repetition in terms of coming to not only the sessions but also listening to the recordings in between and doing the work in between it's not work really it's but it's more the shifting the habits the doing the gratitude at night the setting the day in the morning those kinds of things if you have the law of repetition and you have the willingness to change then absolutely I would say most of my clients are coming to me with some form of anxieties right and that lucky for me most of the research and data on hypnosis is with hypnosis and anxiety and how um how helpful it is. So you could have anxiety like my breast cancer patients about you know the treatments that you're undergoing or about facing your mortality right or you could have anxiety about um quitting smoking because you're not sure how to be a person without it right all kinds of different things or um you could have anxiety about speaking in the in the meeting giving that big presentation because you're afraid of you know public speaking or or or that kind of thing. So whatever it is that you're seeking to focus on in a session then we'll talk about you know about how many we think it might be sessions for you to be at that point but having a real clear idea like you said like knowing your outcome knowing where you want to be knowing how you want to feel right and starting from there. And it's an easy gentle thing. I see clients both in person but also so much is on Zoom these days. I have clients I just saw somebody in Australia so you know that's the the beauty of the the virtual world um and the nice thing about that is yes hypnosis can be done over the internet it's you know it's actually sometimes even better that way because you're in the comfort of your own home right um and um then you know we'll we'll take it from there we'll come up with a game plan together and it's really like guided meditation often it's a the way that the best way I can put it you know and I will guide you I can't heal you but I will lead you to your own healing. And that's the biggest thing I've learned as a hypnotherapy is that we all have the answers within ourselves. And so I help you find what you already know your own intuitive answers for your own intuitive healing.
SPEAKER_00You know that was really really so beautiful. And let me ask you this because a lot of the women that I see in some of my programs they are like want better optimal health or they they want these things but the one thing that I'm gonna ask them like well have you been doing your morning routine have you been journaling? Have you I give them some activities to do and then like like this is imperative you must do this. Like I didn't get to it. So there's this thing about not wanting to go in to heal right they're willing to do everything else. What's my macros of protein? How much should I exercise I'm drinking all my electrolytes I'm I'm doing the things keep giving them to me I'll do the things but the most important thing is to be able to go inward. And I I don't I I guess I would surmise and you share maybe what your experience is people don't want to have to open that up that zipper up to go inward because then what? Uh oh what's gonna come out uh oh no no I got too much to do uh oh I can't have people see me like this uh oh so it's better just to not and I'm like oh my gosh if you do you will unlock a whole new version of yourself you're gonna free yourself and there may be nothing hard and traumatic but some that this whole being quiet and being able to listen to the body seems like the easiest thing to do but apparently it's one of the hardest things to do.
SPEAKER_01Well absolutely I mean I joke a lot saying that we're all just eight year olds walking around in grown up bodies because from the time you're born until about the age of eight years old, we just soak up information but we take it all at face value and don't question it. Right. And so your subconscious mind whether those experiences with your family with your outside world whether they're positive or negative it doesn't distinguish it just sees it as safe and it wants to keep you as safe. And so it even if you didn't have a traumatic childhood if you learned that you know your being exuberant was annoying your mother so you stopped being exuberant that's not trauma but that's just something that so we are all armored up by the time we're there we go I love that we're all armored up yeah we have learned our coping mechanisms and then we just hone them and get better and better at that as we get older. And so it is hard and that's what I I was talking about like the willingness because it is it's uncomfortable.
SPEAKER_00So Kelly thank you and tell my listeners who who might not be familiar with your show and what you're doing you've talked a little bit about the women that you're helping but can you go in a little bit more detail about what that looks like absolutely thank you so much for asking so twofold it kind of all is a big pool and you can choose um you want to dip your toe in right in the shallow end or you going in the deep end and to dip your toe in, we have a membership for women women's longevity and wellness hub that we meet twice a month. It's myself and Dr. Heidi Iratzabal she's an ND and a functional medicine doctor and we come in we give some education and topics for part of it. Our big thing is we want this to be able to be applicable, right? This isn't just like, oh that was cool information put it on the shelf no here's some information how do you gonna apply it to your life and then there's live QA and hot seats of let's talk about anything from your health right and it could go from sleep to exercise to sexual dysfunction to peptides you name it, right? Like it's all on board. And so that is kind of like dip your toe in be with a group of women who all want to understand and have questions because most of the time people can't afford to go see an ND or a functional medicine doctor because first visit is like you know $650 and then each individual visit is
Kelly’s Membership And 12-Week Program
SPEAKER_00like $350. So you have access twice a month for like a low, low fee to come and ask a highly qualified two professionals it's just amazing. But then if you're like I'm going in the deep end I'm ready for this full transformation we've got a 12-week signature program the activated woman method where we're gonna help transform your mind that you are the CEO of your health to become this activated woman that we've got everything inside of us to heal and repair that's necessary. Most of the things are free but along the way we do extensive extensive detailed blood work. So we match your blood work with what your metabolic health is doing, what your brain health is doing and what you think you're doing of you're totally missing the boat because your blood work is showing otherwise and we compare down what they're doing and hone back in in the habits that we should be doing before you add on all the stuff. Most people have found they have a red light mask and they go, they have their vibe plate and they're monitoring their protein but they're not having a sleep routine that's restorative. But they're not having time for themselves that's present and having a regulated nervous system. They're not like so we're getting them like let's master these other things then the food you eat is going to be so nutrition and you can absorb it. Then when you do your other quote modalities of red light or supplements or whatever, then they will actually be able to be utilized for your body. So we take them through a 12 week program to really become this new version of themselves and therefore they can stop looking for program after program after program. It's not like we're gonna just fix this symptom that you have we're gonna fix it at the level of your systems, right? Really at the cellular level. And in the program we talk about genes and things like that as well. We can get a little bit geeky in it but it's truly you know it's great. It's really great. So one of two ways to come work with me again I would just love for the listeners to come over and just follow along and subscribe we're always looking for a new subscribers to really raise the wellness IQ of the world right I mean it's really what we want everybody to do. And through all of our work together is we can we can get ourselves there.
SPEAKER_01So I'm gonna pass it back to you to the same like how can my listeners find you or um be a part of your world yeah absolutely so my website is Hinchyhypnotherapy.com H-I-N-C-H-E-Y hypnotherapy dot com and my podcast Hip Talks I would love it if you uh if your listeners would come and follow, subscribe um as you said just building up the wellness world I interview a different well uh different healing practitioner or wellness practitioner each week and so uh you really get a firsthand look at what what do these different modalities mean? What does it entail? Who is doing it? And really getting an idea of well I I vibe with that person or I don't with that person or that's interesting. And you know the therapeutic alliance as we know or in hypnosis they call it rapport that is so important is how you connect with the person that's helping you even more so than the modality that's being used. So um yeah that's how you find me and I would love to see you.
SPEAKER_00Oh my gosh that's so fabulous you guys well if anybody just wants to a little bit just like be in my world I have a free quiz that anybody can take in the show notes you can go
