V is back with her bonus episode talking about her predictions on the horizon for home, tech, fashion and how a futuristic 'Mood Home' will help women's health in the future. She also rounds off this bonus episode focusing with a message from the stars (astrology) about what to expect for the next two weeks using your rising sign!
Pour yourself something good!
Hello, hello, and welcome. So I uh just sitting down here with a hot chocolate. I think I've become a little bit addicted to it, if I'm honest with you, because recently I discovered MS are doing amazing hot chocolate. It's like if you're a fan of dark chocolate, I can highly recommend this. Not an ad. And I've got a list of things to uh talk to you about today. Because this isn't the usual cup of feed episode. I thought I do still like a bonus episode that I'm gonna call next with me. And really it's just I just had a list of things that I've got where I thought I wanted to look at some kind of forecasting. A little bit of a predict coming up in light star, home, tech, action, just doing those kind of things because I've noticed there's not really a place uh like where you can get it all. I know there's like loads of places you can go and get it all like niched, but I thought I'm gonna do one where it's all in there, all meshed together. And I'd like to say this is not gonna be me reviewing like the latest iPhone or anything like that. That's absolutely not in my uh not in my lane, not what I'm gonna be doing. This is uh next with me. So on my list today to talk about is let's have a little look, what I've got. Oh yeah, I wanted to talk about the Pantone colour for next year. Wanted to do a little bit about fashion and like what's coming up, what I see for next year. And I also wanted to talk about tech, like the horizon of tech, what's coming up, or what do I see in the future? I'm also then gonna finish, I think, with doing what the next two weeks have in store for you. I usually say pour yourself something good. I think that's still relevant. First on my list is the fashion. I think we've been in a bit of survival mode with colours in what feels like forever. Completely understandable. But we've had loads of like beige, greys, neutrals, and that's dominated for the last few years. Although I don't think they're ever gonna take away our staple neutrals, because of course I like a bit of a neutral. But I do think we deserve the play button to be activated. And I am sensing that we're approaching a moment where we look in and suddenly like we see a little bit of a gold piece glittering, and we think, ooh, what's that? And I think that's gonna be reflective of what we see coming up for the end of this year, but also definitely into next year. I think it's more coming into fashion is we're gonna see bold prints, bright colours, mix and match. By the way, I'm not in fashion, so I've got no sneak previews at all into this. This is just what I'm seeing. So I think we're gonna get a revamp as well, like a fresh, fresh pair of eyes almost on our usual prints like paisley, floors. It kind of reminds me of um snakeskin because snakeskin I think's coming around again, and it reminds me like years ago, I had this cord set with matching snakeskin shoes. That sounds absolutely hideous now. I'm describing it, but honestly, it was quite a statement back then, and I still wish I had those shoes. So maybe next year they'll bring it back and I can like relive it all over again. So, yeah, as I was saying, I think we're gonna keep our usual neutrals, but I think we're gonna be encouraged back to buying fun pieces that we really enjoy at our core, they like mean something to us. We look at them and we go, Oh, I like that, and I'm gonna keep that. So I'm thinking that we're going to be all about the accessories like brooches, hair clips, gloves, fun things, you know, that we haven't thought about since purchasing like since our younger years, and I think we're gonna be dressing up more. And when I say dressing up, I don't necessarily think that means it's gonna correlate into us going out more, but I see as we've got this like hybrid theme of dressing, like we've got a blend between home and work. Some of us work in our home, some of us go out, and then we need to be able to redress to go out, but we're at home, all of that going on. A quick hair clip, a brooch, these things can really change an outfit, and I think we're due a little bit of boldness in that bit of a bold and fun approach to our fashion, and that's what I kind of see coming up in the future. I'm also hopeful that hats are gonna be out of full force too. I'm thinking like Bridgetton meets the streets. You've probably heard the drama surrounding the Pantone colour this year. I think it was called Cloud Dancer, and it was meant to be meant to symbolise like new beginnings. And I'm really sad it wasn't red. As I fancied something that said new beginnings that symbolise like power, passion, revolution, life force. You you get me. So looking ahead to next year, I'm predicting that we're bestowed warming and beautiful colours like reds, the deep purples, emerald greens, regal joy. I really think we need the we need more joy at our core, so I'm hoping it's that. Although I say that, and they I can imagine them as giving us like a pink, not like a barbie pink, but like a soft warming pink, just to kind of see us through. We'll see, I guess. These kind of colour themes I think will translate as well into the home. So if you've got a neutral home, permission granted to start adding colour, print, playfulness, pieces that kind of give you joy, especially as I said, because we're all in our houses a little bit more these days for both work and play, and I think joy needs to be reflected in our spaces more. So I think we're gonna see more fun things for our home, not only just for colour, but also in items, like they're gonna be doing fun things for us to buy. That leads me into home mood actually. So, home mood is gonna be a future thing, not just for interiors, but for tech and healthcare. I'd like to point out here it's actually not called home mood, so don't Google it because you probably won't get what I'm about to talk about. I'm just calling it that. So I see on the horizons that our home will soon be equipped with tech that tells us about our health. So at the moment we've got all these health devices that are telling us about our like individual health stats, so heart rate, step count, blood pressure, etc. But I imagine being at home and home mood using that information to tell us that perhaps we need to book in a blood test or that our temperature's risen slightly, that someone in our environment is uh bringing in some germs. Now that sounds a little bit like something from a sci-fi, or perhaps even a horror film, but there's something quite comforting knowing our homes might one day look out for us that it will do all the analysing and the worrying, and we'll just go about our day. Just imagine your home texting you or speaking out loud. Actually, no, that's a bit weird, just texting you. But it's text us and it says, I've popped on the kettle because your home mood is indicating that your stats say you need to sit down. Bliss. And whilst that's happening, Home Robot is doing an inventory of the food in the fridge and working out a meal plan for us. Honestly, like sign me up for home mood and the robots. I'm I'm already ready and waiting for mine. One thing I'm absolutely not signing up for though is the robot made that's out now. Apparently, you pay for it monthly and you have to teach it everything. And worse than that, worse than like ordering something and then finding you've got to teach it everything, it currently takes two minutes to fold up a jumper. I don't have enough patience for that, so it's a that's a definite no from me. What's definitely not a no for me though, and it's living rent-free in my brain this month, is the figure skating. So I love the winter games, they're like they're so much better than in my opinion than the summer games. And this year I managed to catch most of the figure skating, which was an absolute joy. But now every time I hear like Celine Dion playing or that lovely classical music, I'm not gonna lie, I have this mini daydream, and I think, can I just train and become one? Like me twirling around the ice in 2030. It's a really nice daydream when it lasts. But back to reality, and uh, before I round off this little bonus episode, dear reader, I looked into the tea leaves and I thought I'd tell you what I can see for the next two weeks of March based on your rising sign. So let me run through all the rising signs quickly and tell you what's coming up for you for March. So Aries rising, Aries season is literally like your Roman Empire right now. The universe handed you the main character energy and it's not taking it back. Taurus rising. That thing you thought wasn't moving, it just moved. Check your phone, no cap. Gemini rising. Okay, so that idea living rent-free in your head. Late March is saying stop gatekeeping, release it into the world. Cancer rising. One conversation you've been avoiding is about to change everything. Have it, cry about it, think about it, thank yourself later. Leo rising. The universe has been quietly cooking something up for you, and late March is the big reveal, and you are going to eat. Virgo rising. It's giving ready whether you think so or not. Mercury Direct says stop and submit. Libra rising. That decision you've been going back and forth about, your gut knew all along. Late March just confirms it. Scorpio rising. Something shifts this fortnight and it's giving plot twist energy in the best possible way. Sagittarius rising. Sag, you've been holding back and we both know it. Late March, you're done waiting. The era of hesitation is over. Capricorn rising. You've been putting in the work quietly, and late March is about to make sure the right people notice. Aquarius rising. You're ahead of the curve the whole time. Late March is just the world catching up to your vision. Pisces rising. Okay, that thing that's had you confused for weeks is about to make complete sense, and your reaction is going to be everything. Okay, um, I'm off maybe to Google how many skating lessons I could fit in between here and 2030. And that's actually just to learn how to stand up in the skates. I'm gonna leave you to find your rising sign and do give me the tea about whether I slayed these or not. See you next Thursday. I'm back with Cup of V and we're gonna be talking about the old brand new workplace. Until then, use the fancy cups.
