HyperAccel’s 4nm chip just hit mass production—why it matters
Sep 07, 2026
HyperAccel’s new “Bertha” accelerator entering mass production is a quiet turning point: inference is where most AI costs live, and cheaper inference can show up as faster responses and lower prices in the tools people use.
SEMIFIVE says it has begun mass production of HyperAccel’s custom LLM inference ASIC on Samsung’s 4nm process for data-center deployment. “Mass production” matters because it signals the design is validated and shipping at volume, not stuck in prototype limbo. The big question now is whether custom inference silicon can meaningfully reduce dependence on expensive GPUs.
