Hey guys, I'm your host Sarah, and welcome to Shadows Uncovered. So today the case I want to talk about is something that literally just came out as of today, March 11th, 2026. This is going to be one of your specials, guys, because yesterday, Wednesdays dropped Iquan Henry, and then I gave you the update also of Nancy Gunther. So this is gonna be your duo special, totally unplanned, but this is something that has hit the fan and is in rapid time of needing answers. This is the case of Alex Fleming. Now, I'm gonna go into detail because it's just coming out. There's not all the details yet revealed. But it is one of the most shocking finds in Phoenix, Arizona. It has drawn the attention of the population as the high-profile cases of missing persons continue to be speculated. The woman discovered along a canal was recognized by authorities as 42-year-old Alex Fleming. Although the social media momentarily connected her death to the disappearance of Nancy Gunther, the investigators have proven that there is no relationship present. There was, however, traumatic marks on the body of Fleming, which now has led investigators to a homicide investigation. The Phoenix police answered a report of unknown trouble in and about 28th and Oak Street on the morning of March 6th at 740 AM. Fleming was still unconscious on a canal bank. Phoenix Fire Department declared her dead at the scene. The homicide detectives have since been assigned to the case, with them going through the area and looking through surveillance records to get any leads. Now, who was Alex Fleming? Alex Fleming was 42 year old. She was a resident of Phoenix. There has been some information disclosed regarding authorities that there was some trauma to the body, but no specifics are available at this time. I did find though that the remaining of Fleming was sent to the Marco County Office of the Medical Examiner to have a postmortem examination, and the investigators have not determined whether the death is being formally treated as a murder. Now when and where was she found? The remains of Fleming were found up north of the Grand Canal Trail, over a hundred miles north of Tuscan, Arizona. AKA where Nancy Gunther was last seen. The exact point gave police officers a chance to capture surveillance and any other possible evidences. Police are encouraging the citizens to give tips that may help in both investigations. Again, they're not related, but hey, how to know? They still don't know where Nancy is. Maybe while they're investigating Alex, something pops up for Nancy. Who knows? I mean, only one can hope. But the ongoing investigation for the canal discovery. Law enforcement is aggressively following any leads, such as surveillance videos in the area and potential witness accounts. But again, this guy is brand new. The case just literally got its feet on the ground, if you want to say, and there's nothing on it yet except that they found this poor woman's battered body in a canal. The Phoenix Police Department has requested individuals who have any information to call them at 602-262-6151. And those who would prefer to stay anonymous can call the silent witness hotline at 480-948-6377. Spanish line is also available at 480-837-8446. No, I know social media is speculating that this is connected to Nancy Gunther. No, it is not. It has been confirmed by the official Pima County Police Department. It does not have any evidence that links these two cases. So you there you go, guys. You have it as of right now. It's fresh coming out. Is this like the very beginning? Hopefully, I got it to you guys first. I just again, cold cases, the newer they are, the quicker we can solve them, the better we can get this done for the family. Cold cases have no age. Cold cases come from 100 years ago, 50 years ago, yesterday, even today, as we breathe. So, guys, keep in touch. Stay tuned. As more of this comes out, I will let you know. Alright, guys, have a good night. Bye.
