Sundays are great, then Monday comes…but the Lord is with us just as much on Monday as He is on Sunday. As long as we remain in Him, He promises to remain in us.

Good evening, friends, and thanks for tuning in to Unfiltered with Jesse B. I trust everyone had a chance to get some RR this weekend, went to church, gained some knowledge and inspiration from the services, and they're just ready to tackle the work week. And there's crickets. You can sense the exciting anticipation in my voice. But as I was looking through some things to talk about, a quote I ran across is from Jim Rowan, or H.O. Ron, I guess, maybe R-O-H-N is how you spell the last name. But anyway, he said, either you run the day or the day runs you. And that's pretty good advice for Mondays or any day of the week for that matter. Another quote was by Germany Kent, which says, Your Monday morning thoughts set the tone for your whole week. Also good food for thought. Now I get it. It all sounds great and until that alarm goes off or until we pull into the parking lot of our places of employment. Dealing with that difficult boss or colleague or just the public in general can prove challenging. Many times I have heard sermons, read books, read scripture on being Christlike, being the bigger person, serving unto God and not to man, only to feel like a failure at the end of the day because I reacted instead of leaning on those truths. It took a while for me to accept the fact that this is not failure, but it's an opportunity to grow in these truths. Something my grandpa and I shared was a love for horses. I was in the saddle as early as three years old, learning to ride on a small old mule named Molly. She was very gentle, but as with all animals, can get spooked and was easily startled by something. This happened one day and she didn't really throw me off, but she jerked really fast and I fell off into the dirt, which was a long fall off the back of a mule for a three year old. My grandpa thought that I would never want to be near this mule, let alone any horse again. But even while I was scraped up and crying, his grandpa picked me up to console me. I reached for the saddle wanting to get back on. Needless to say, grandpa and I spent many a Saturday afternoon riding horses up until he couldn't, which wasn't that many years before the Lord called him home in June of twenty nineteen. I see our Heavenly Father having that same loving compassion on his children. We may stumble, we may take an all-out spill and sit in the dirt and ugly cry for a bit, but Jesus lifts us back up, dust us off, and the Holy Spirit inspires us to get back in there with the strength to do better next time. Lamentations three twenty two through thirty three from the ESV says because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning, great is your faithfulness. The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end, and they are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness. We as Christians can take comfort in knowing that our Heavenly Father loves us and longs to be an active presence in the lives of His children, not just on Sundays, but every day.
