Oh, good, you're here. Let's talk lavender. How are you feeling today? How are you feeling in your body today? Maybe a little down, a little bit melancholic, maybe just pensive a little bit wistful. Does it feel like everyone around you is just having a better life than you are? A bit more fun and happiness? Maybe not a whole lot, but at least some. Yesterday I was in a coffee shop grabbing a quick coffee because I really felt like I needed one, you know, one of those days where you just feel so low energy and really know that a shot of caffeine will really help. So I'm standing around the busy pickup area, waiting awkwardly and trying not to touch strangers or bump them or look at them too closely. So I'm vaguely looking into the distance, into the back of the coffee shop, and I start fiddling with my phone like everyone else. The place was really full as it usually is at eight AM, and lots of people are darted around the tables, crouched over their laptop screens with headphones covering their ears like giant clamshells, and the coffee machines are hissing and people are shuffling. And everyone's in their own world. Here we are all scrunched together in this stuffy place, everyone existing in their own separate, subdued little bubble. It had that workday vibe. You know, it feels like even if you're not working, you should be working because everybody else is working. It's almost like you can smell the spreadsheets in the air as much as you can smell the coffee. Busy melancholy. And then the next minute I hear this burst of laughter really loud. And I look up and in the back corner of the coffee shop are these three women. And they are laughing. They are laughing so hard they're finishing each other's sentences. One of them is thumping her chest with her fist and gasping, and one is waving her hands in the air saying Yes, but wait, wait, wait, that's not right. You've got it wrong. And they are literally shrieking with laughter and joy. And then I suddenly realized the whole place was watching them. Even the people focused on their laptops. They are exuding this energy, they're exuding tangible life and familiarity, and so much love for each other in a genuine human way. It was almost visceral. And the whole atmosphere of the place just shifted and lifted. Even the people sitting staring at their screens who didn't look up, even their mouth corners were turning up, and they were silently enjoying the energy radiating from these women. And it lifted everybody in that moment. And if you asked me what the women looked like, what they were wearing, how old they were, really any physical details about them, I probably couldn't tell you anything. All I remember is the beautiful energy of these women. That's all I noticed. And it was glorious. And around me were all these people looking at their phones and their curated, carefully constructed lives and outfits and ways of being in the world, which seem so artificial compared to these women and so empty in comparison. And in that moment everybody wanted to be those women. Everybody wanted to have those relationships. No matter how wealthy or beautiful or successful they were, they wanted what those women had more than anything. And that made me think of energy, of how we don't think about our own energy enough. So right now, think of two or three people that you love very much your partner, a parent, a sing sibling, a child, an old friend, your bestie, grandparent. Think of the first one and how they make you feel in your heart and in your body. Just for a moment. Think of the next one and how they make you feel in your chest and how your body just feels a little warmer. Now, did you think about how they looked? How beautiful they were, how they were dressed, what they were doing, how successful they were, how they could make your life better. No, you thought about their beautiful energy, the amazing essence of them, the joy of knowing the themness of them completely unlike anybody else, and pure and so valuable to you. Just them being their purest self is what you love about them. You love them the same whether they are freshly showered and beautifully dressed and smelling delightful, or if they're just out of bed, unwashed faces in tattered pajamas, you love them the same. In fact, you may even love them more when they are vulnerable and showing you their unfiltered self in all their imperfections. It makes you feel connected to the universe, to the world, to life itself. It gives value to your existence, makes you feel like you're really here. It puts you on the same earth as them. It gives you presence, a presence in this world. To have that, to experience that energy, that pure energy. That person makes you feel like you're a part of the world. And now I want you to remember that the same applies to you. That you are also pure energy. The ewness of you, your aura, your way of being and moving in the world is completely unique to you. You have thoughts no one else has. You have ideas no one else has. Your life experience is like no one else's. You are completely one of a kind. You have strengths and combinations of talents that no one else does. And these are things that are just inherently part of your nature, and you don't have to try and develop them. They are already who you are without any effort, without any effort from your side. And this is a beautiful, essential cocktail of humanness that is so important and needed by other humans. Just like those people who you love so much for being themselves, so too is the uniqueness of you completely essential to someone else. In the same way that there are people lighting up your world, you are lighting up another person's world, even if their emotions stop them from telling you so. They may just be struggling to express it. Just the fact that you're alive in the way that you are right now, whatever your level of success, age, or beauty, right now that's irrelevant. It's your energy, your pure energy, pure energy of the real you that lights you up and anyone who notices it. So laugh at the funny joke today if you think it's funny. Have fun with your quirks and style. Eat that odd thing that everyone else thinks is gross. Take your hidden pleasures out into the open air and celebrate your uniqueness. I promise you someone will warm in your light and just see beauty. You're allowed to enjoy your life and not just get through it. Tell me how you're doing. This community is here to support you.
