Well, tonight on Breakthrough Hour, I have been thinking a lot about the tension that we live in as believers. The tension between joy and sorrow. The tension between triumph and pain, celebration and grief. And this last Saturday night on the National Mall in DC was one of the most historic and really, I would say, one of the most emotional nights of my life. And, you know, I would say that, well, let me get to that in a minute. Right there beside the Washington Monument, in the shadow of the monuments built to remember American past, we gathered again to worship Jesus. Literally, thousands of voices lifted high in the center of our nation's capital. Prayer filled the air. Worship thundered across the mall. The gospel was preached with boldness once again. And as I stood there looking out over the crowd, I realized this wasn't just another event. This was the culmination of seven straight years of annual revival gatherings on the national mall. And I don't know how many of you know this, but this is the most difficult venue to secure. It's very expensive. It's unbelievably difficult with all the logistics and the permitting, and really to stand there and think after year one, I was like, I don't know if we're I don't think we're ever going to do this again. I'm good. Check. We did it. We held the largest church service in America in 2020 on the national mall. It was epic. I'll never forget it. And I was like, check. And then the Lord kept calling us back. It was seven years. Seven years of believing, seven years of contending, seven years of opposition. Uh, I mean, talk about opposition. It it was the first year like Satanists showed up and dumped blood over our team. Uh, the mayor Bowser of DC was fighting against the federal government to not allow us to worship on the national mall. It was crazy. Uh, seven years of opposition, seven years of miracles, seven years of prayers, seven years of worship in the middle of political chaos, cultural confusion, and spiritual darkness. Remember, this was the Biden era and the Trump era. We worshiped through it all, through the government shutdowns, national division, riots, threats, lockdowns, criticism, and exhaustion. And yet every single year, God met us. What began as a cry for awakening became a movement of believers refusing to bow to fear and refusing to surrender America's spiritual destiny. And then to watch the next day, the rededicate America event. I mean, wow, just to be there when the leaders of our nation, the president of our nation, reading 2 Chronicles, the verse that we have, all of us, or those of us believers, have prayed that prayer, you know. I mean, to see that happen, faith leaders, political leaders standing together to call America back to God as we approach America 250, not just celebrating a nation's history, but confronting the deeper question will America remember the God who blessed her? That moment, it it moved me. And, you know, I'll I'll never forget it. But he here's the reality. At the same time that that's taking place, we're celebrating revival breakthrough publicly, privately. My family, I mean, we have been carrying a lot of pain. And just the last week, I've lost four dear friends, like to eternity. Four, four friends in the last week that have gone to be with Jesus. People I love, people who mattered, people whose absence leaves an ache that words can't fully describe. At the same time, my mom broke her arm, literally, just broke her wrist. Uh, right now she has to go into surgery. I think tomorrow or the next day, she showed up to worship with us. It was unbelievable. I mean, that woman, man, she does not play. And then today I found out while I'm celebrating the release of my new book, which I'm excited about and I'll talk about here in a minute. But my daughter, we just found out today, uh, tore her ACL and her meniscus, and she will not be able to do any sports next year. She's a freshman in high school and she worked really hard to be on the varsity soccer team, and she loves theater. And I mean, she just the joy of our lives. I mean, the joy of anyone's lives that knows my daughter. And for her to come home just crying and weeping and so sad that the doctor told her when they do surgery, she will not be able to do anything for nine, 10 months. So kiss her sophomore year of sports goodbye, basically. So it's like that's that's happening in the midst of revival, great moments. So I'm in the middle, these ministry victories while carrying heartbreak, concern, grief, emotional exhaustion. And honestly, this is just the rhythm of our lives. Like the Christian life is not constant mountaintops, it's not constant victory, it's not constant mourning either. It's both of them. It's joy, it's sorrow, it's pain, it's triumph, it's grieving, it's rejoicing, it's weeping, it's worshiping. Uh, the apostle Paul said it this way sorrowful yet always rejoicing. And that's maturity. Anybody can praise God when everything is easy, but when you stay faithful, can you can you do that when life's complicated? Can you stay tender when disappointment hits? Can you stay consistent when your prayers haven't been answered yet? Can you worship while grieving? Can you trust God while hurting? And that's the question because faithfulness isn't proven in one emotional moment. Now you guys know I'm as charismatic as they come, but it's far deeper than just one moment on the mall. Faithfulness is built in the long obedience of continuing to say yes to Jesus through every season, through funerals like the one I was at last night in Dallas, and breakthroughs through hospital visits and revival meetings, through family pain and public victories. Maybe tonight, that's where some of you are. You're carrying joy and sorrow at the exact same time. You're thanking God for one miracle while begging Him for another. So I guess I just want to come on and encourage you tonight that do not let pain make you pull back from his purpose. Do not let grief silence your worship. Don't let disappointment harden your heart. Jesus is worthy in every single season. He's worthy of it all. Sometimes the purest worship doesn't come from people standing on mountaintops, it comes from wounded people who still lift their hands anyway. And that's breakthrough, that's endurance, that's faithfulness. And I believe God is raising up a generation in America and the world that will remain faithful through it all. This is literally the heart of my book, you know, shameless plug, because it just came out today. Like living as a faithful witness until the last day. Like this, this is why I wrote this book. So in some sense, it's like I'm releasing it today. I've been working on it for a year and a half, but then at the same time, we're dealing with this tragedy and the fallout, and talking to my friend who just lost his wife of 44 years to cancer, who we were believing was going to get healed, and then talking to my daughter who just is crushed that she's not going to be able to play sports and do anything over the next year. I mean, this is just this is just the way of life, you know. And I first of all, I want to say, you know, for those out there that are taking territory, that are taking ground, that are really going after God, like this, this is what we signed up for. Like, I mean, I can't tell you how many times I've come back from a powerful moment like we had this weekend, and tragedy has struck my family, or difficulty, or whatever hardship. I mean, it's just like some of it's warfare, you know. I don't believe there's a demon behind every bush, but I mean, some of it is warfare because we're taking ground and the enemy hates that. I mean, I think about this year, all that we've been able to do and the nations we've been able to go to, and the money we've been able to raise to help people, and the voices we've been able to amplify. And I'm like, man, I I definitely know that we are, you know, plundering hell everywhere God sends us. I mean, I mean, look at this. This was on the National Mall. This was right next to the Washington Monument, guys. Check this out. This was Saturday night. Saturday night. The Park Service said there was over 4,000 people there. And this is this is a rowdy group, guys. This is like revival people. Like we went for four hours straight. You know, even while I'm speaking about this, one of the powerful moments, and by the way, we had this really cool thing. The Lord gave gave me this idea to get a prayer wall. And uh, so I told my team, which by the way, art, my team's amazing, the let us worship team. There's there's nothing like them. These guys, they're resilient, they're joyful, they wake up, they, they, they, they grind, they don't complain. It's taken a little while to get here, but we have the most amazing team, and and I'm so grateful for them. I'm so grateful. They just they're they rise to every occasion. But I woke up with this idea last minute to have a wall that people could sign and they could write Bible verses or prophetic words that God gave them, and then we would take this wall with us as we go to the next 18 cities across America. Now that's 18 cities. If you'll look at that list below, see if your city is on there. Um, Tampa's the next city, which is in, which is in a little over two weeks, a little under two weeks. I mean, we've already done 12 and we're doing 18 more. I mean, we go so hard, like, and we've already been in the nations. We've held, I think, four or five lettuce worships in the nations. We've done these trips and now are focusing in, zeroing in on America. But when when you see things like this and you see the breakthrough and the miracles and you see the people returning to Jesus, of course, you're gonna get warfare, you're gonna get pushback, you're gonna get nasty stuff said about you, you're gonna get slander stuff, you're gonna get, you know, kids that get sick and nightmares, and you're gonna get attacks and all kinds of stuff. It's just it's part of the territory. But one of the things that just ministered to me, I want to share this. My friend Pastor Greg Locke, who was with us from Tennessee, he stood with me in the pandemic, and he was just a brother that stood with me through through the fire. He lost his son uh earlier last week, and I did not have any expectation for him to come. I mean, his son was 20 years old and he was battling um addiction and just it just such a tragic situation. And Greg called me and he's like, Sean, I I feel like I have to come. I need to minister in this brokenness. And man, he showed up, and this is a picture of him. Like, after he spoke, and I don't, there was not a dry eye in the place. He spoke out of his brokenness, healing was released. Out of the loss of his son, prodigals were coming home. Like it was one of the most beautiful, profound pictures of just God moving in the midst of brokenness. And I just I was so moved, I was so grateful. Um, and and it really to me represented this season that we're in right now of extravagant loss and where it feels at times like, oh my gosh, well, I don't know if we can take any more, and then yet incredible breakthrough. Uh I uh also something else really cool, and I I did a post about this earlier, but something amazing that happened, guys, um, was today they announced that the historic DC fountain, uh, there's a very historic fountain. It's one of the longest in America's 13 like levels to it. Um, and it's iconic. Well, guess what? It has been dry for seven years, and this year, on the seventh year, the water started to flow again. Isn't this crazy? Look at that. The water started to flow. And I think that that's a prophetic picture of Psalm 36, of Psalm 85, all my fountains are in you. Like this prophetic picture of the fountain of water in the heart of our nation's capital is running again. Like that just hit me and ministered to me in such a profound way. Why don't you watch this recap from what took place this last weekend? Yes, what an incredible moment. Like, and then the next day preparing the way for this rededicate America, and just, I don't know, there's something so profound, guys, about your nation's leaders getting up there, reading scripture, and you know, when uh Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, who's a dear friend, said, you know, publicly declared, I hereby declare that America is rededicated to God. Like that to me was just, it does something. Like, and of course they're gonna mock it, and the and then, and then the super, you know, religious uh whatever people will say that it's outrageous and it's stupid. And of course the leftists will say this, but it doesn't matter, man. It is done in the spirit, and that's one of the most amazing things like that we're fighting for right now in in America. It's a spiritual war. Like, this is why I wrote this book. This is why I released it. A little background, because today is the official release of this. My book, No Turning Back, Living as a Faithful Witness Until the Last Day. Today is the official release of this book. And, you know, I started writing this. Um, I felt like the Lord was telling me to write a book on spiritual warfare. And, you know, that's kind of an old school topic in the sense that I grew up in the 90s and like everyone was talking about it back then, but it's kind of one that's waned, especially in the church. As we've become more intellectual and more cool and more, you know, uh, you know, cutting edge, whatever, like we've forgotten that we're actually spiritual beings. We don't fit in, we're strange, we're peculiar people, the Bible says. And we fight with the weapons uh that the world doesn't fight with, they're different weapons. And so um, I started writing this book, you know, just laying a foundation, one out of my own personal testimony of spiritual warfare stuff. And I share some stories in here that are crazy. Like when me and my wife were in Turkey with uh our two kids, uh, we have two at the time, and we were walking through this unreached village, and this wit, this Muslim witch doctor lady comes out and starts cursing us, and immediately our baby Malachi, which is my my oldest son, my secondborn, like has a hundred-something degree fever, crazy degree fever, and starts puking and is sick. We have to take him to the hospital. There's blood in his diapers. I mean, a serious demonic spell came over him. So I share about that. I share about when I was held up at gunpoint in Uganda with uh by Zulu thugs that were robbing us, and the barrel was pointed at my skull uh in outside of uh Kampala. I share about being on the front lines versus ICE. I mean, I share the craziest stories, right? But then also bringing theology, biblical theology of what does it look like? What is because everyone is feeling this, you know? Uh everyone is feeling like we are in a spiritual war, like even those that didn't believe it in the atheists, like people are coming awake to it, you know. People are beginning to feel the this acceleration of the end times and the intensity of the hour in which we live. And obviously, screens that we're locked in on all day, doom scrolling accelerates that. Um, but I wrote it to to bring God's perspective into that fight. And um, I didn't realize that in the middle of writing this, Charlie Kirk, a friend, would be assassinated in broad daylight in front of the whole world. I didn't realize that the satanic temple literally would come after us nonstop, writing letters, sending us curses. I didn't realize the amount of lies and slanderous accusations that would come against us, and then the people that chose to believe those, even though they're lies, you know, because you put it out on the internet, you make a video, no one questions your sources, no one cares about evidence. It's just all about defaming and tearing people down, right? I didn't realize that even in the last week, watching my some of my friends pass into eternity who are prominent leaders, one of them Joni Lamb, you know, one of them James Robison, one of them, you know, Greg Locke's son, and seeing these hateful, even these that claim they're Christians, these hateful, demonically possessed people online attacking them in their death to destroy their name, their legacy, peeing all over their graves, blaming Greg for the loss of his time. I mean, these people are so sick and wicked. And it's like finally, people are even waking up to that. Oh, yeah, this is not just some article searching for the truth. These are literally demonically inspired people that that that Satan himself is using to tear down ministries and destroy people. And if they can't even extend grace in the death, if they can't even extend compassion, they obviously don't care. Like there's no heart for for for mercy, there's no heart for reconciliation. It's a heart to destroy, right? So people are coming alive to this, they're coming awake to this. We obviously have seen this manifested in, you know, the, you know, the the trans shooter that killed Charlie Kirk or the multiple people that tried to kill President Trump. I mean, they're motivated with a demonic hatred. We've seen this obviously with the attacking against. Yeah, I'm I don't even want to go into all this. It's just I could go forever. But my point is this we're coming awake to the spiritual dynamic of the hour in which we live. So for me, I don't write books for money. I don't write books uh for clicks. I don't need to write books. Like, like I have a lot of other stuff going on. I mean, it's hard to imagine as able to do this and like writing it on my phone, my iPad, trying to merge it all together, getting editors in this crazy season we're in. But I write it when I feel like there's a word of the Lord for the hour. This is honestly what I feel like this is. I feel like it is a word of the Lord for the hour in which we live. No turning back, living as a faithful witness. I mean, this to me uh is a is a is a I feel like it's a manual. And I'm partnering together with you, you version. I created a devotional uh about this. Uh, amazing people. I'm actually headed to Washington, D.C. tomorrow, back there tomorrow, if you can believe it, to be at a child protection summit focusing on rescuing children uh all across America and the world. As you know, we do this in India. We've rescued over 1,200 children from child labor camps in the sex trade. It's a project called Light a Candle we've had going on for a long time. But I'm going, and part of the the reason why I'm going is to share the message, not just of the book to try to promote the book, but the message of this is a battle in the spirit. And I'm bringing my guitar and we're going to worship and do what we do, you know? Like that's literally what we do. That's what we were doing in the West Wing on Friday night, this last Friday night, right? When they when just while we were happening to be in there, guys, like I can't even believe this happened. I didn't share about it enough. But while we were in the West Wing, they were in the situation room because it was all blocked off. We couldn't go near that area, and they were taking out Al-Qaeda number two leader in Nigeria, which is where I was last month. And I had talked to the whole world about Nigeria, shared the videos, a lot of them have gone viral. You guys have shared them and seen them. That happened while we were praying in the West Wing of the White House. I mean, guys, there's this is all connected. I also believe, you know, coming back from this crazy mountaintop experience, you know, four friends, you know, graduating to eternity, my daughter, you know, crying. I mean, you know, it's like because of her ACL and meniscus and not being able to play soccer and do the things she loves. I mean, I hate this, but this is the reality of the hour which we live in. And we as Christians, believers, we have to find out how to navigate this. So I anyway. I'm going to go spend some time with my family, but I wanted to come on here and I want to share one verse with you. Can I do that? Just get a little preachy to you tonight. And uh hopefully this will encourage you. By the way, you can pick this book up, No Turning Back, on Amazon. You can also go to my website. Um, it's on there. If you go to let us worship.us or seanvoigt.com, you can find it. And I'm telling you, it'll, I know it's gonna be a big blessing. It's I I feel like it's one of the best books I've written. I mean, I haven't written that many, but I think this one might take the cake, uh, especially on its timeliness for the season. Um, also, I wanted to just mention um we're coming to 18 more cities, and uh, this is the schedule. We're gonna be in Tampa uh in a week and a half. We're coming to Baltimore, Philly, uh, New Jersey, and Gettysburg all on 4th of July weekend. Then Nashville, we're gonna be in the Ryman Auditorium, which I cannot wait for. That is going to be absolutely unbelievable. The Ryman Auditorium, we're gonna pack that place out. Boston, Plymouth, Rochester, New York, Chicago, Virginia Beach, where I used to live. Missoula, Montana, where I used to live. Uh, so a lot of hometown stuff, which I'm super excited about. And man, we're God's gonna move in powerful ways. We're gonna see uh we're gonna see a dynamic move of God. I don't know if you got this new album that just came out, too. Want to remind you of that Days of Awakening. This was recorded live actually uh from the the uh spot of the historic place of the Brownsville revival in Florida. Um, man, it is it's an incredible project. It is just, it's full of life. It's full of prophetic songs. And the other cool thing is I have a we recorded two new songs this last weekend. Again, these were some shots for those that are late here from the last weekend uh on the National Mall. It was unbelievable. Well, right off the National Mall in the in the uh Washington Monument is unbelievable, unbelievable time. Um, but we have we captured a couple new songs there. One song that I wrote for our nation called America is yours. And it's my own personal song of rededicating uh the nation that I love and that I'm raising my family in back to God. So that's gonna release hopefully on July 4th, if we can finish it in time. Um, so anyway, I would love to see you guys in some of these upcoming cities. Um it's gonna be a powerful summer, but I gotta go upstairs and spend some time with my daughter, who's obviously very sad today, you know, at this recent news. And my mom, who also is going into surgery tomorrow for a broken arm, and then my friends who are just grieving, you know, I was at Joni Lamb's funeral in Dallas yesterday with a lot of other leaders and just just being there in the legacy, uh, her, a James Robinson, Marilyn Hickey graduated to be with Jesus, another very well-known woman of God who changed the world in a lot of ways. But Hebrews chapter two, I want to read this, and uh hopefully this will encourage those of you out there that may be walking through seasons of unpredictability like this that I'm mentioning now. Hebrews chapter two, verse eight, it says this in putting everything under them, God left nothing that is not subject to them. Yet at the present, we do not see everything subject to them. So to them, it's this is referring to like everything in the world is subject to the rulership of Jesus. Like every, like he is the king over it all, like we are declaring over DC, like over our nation. Like we are appealing to a higher authority than the president, then Congress, then uh the Senate, then the Supreme Court. We are appealing to heaven, like he is actually in charge. He's the one pulling the strings. But it says, but at the present, we don't see that reality. So we we we know that he's in control, but yet we have friends dying of cancer. We know that he's in control, but yet our 15-year-olds are tearing their ACLs in the most excited time of their life. I mean, one of the I know I keep talking about this because I love my daughter so much, but you know, she worked so hard as a freshman to make the varsity team, like work so hard. And she's the only freshman on the varsity team this year. And so she was so excited to be a sophomore starting varsity soccer at her school because she's really good. And this basically removes her entire sophomore year. And I don't know if there's anything worse than the pain of a 15-year-old girl like that. I mean, it just breaks a father's heart. And we see the reality of God in control, but we have these daily situations of sickness, of death, of loss, of difficulty, of of darkness. And we have to navigate this as believers of what do we do in these seasons? And it says, so, and left he left in everything that's subject to him, but we don't see everything subject to him. Verse nine but we do see Jesus. We do see Jesus, like in the midst of it all, our role is to see Jesus. It's not to understand everything because we won't, it's not to fully be able to give a great theological explanation to the mob. It's not to be able to, no, it's to see and behold Jesus. Like that is our calling as people of God, is to see him. And this is why worship is so key. This is why I mean I get so choked up thinking about. I know for a lot of people, it was like come to the rededicate event, it's gonna be really cool. Like we're gonna be on the mall. And but for me, I'm like, I've taught this for seven years. Like seven years. And some of the a lot of those years weren't good years to do public meetings on the mall. A lot of those years were years of of pain. A lot of those years, it rained, a lot of those years, you know, it was divisive. A lot of those years, I mean, Biden was over the US, a lot of those years, there were there was it was difficult seasons, and yet, but but he's always consistent. Like, this is what you got to understand. Like, our lives are not consistent. And this is the my biggest pushback against those that look at loss or look at death or look at difficulty, and they think that, well, you deserve that, or that's a curse. This is the most demonic-inspired thing that I've heard in the last week is blaming people for these deaths that happened, or saying it was their fault, or saying it was God's judgment. No, this is just a part of life, okay? People die, people get sick, people don't get well, people don't get healed. I mean, 11 of the 12 disciples were martyred for their faith in gruesome and horrific ways. This is part of life. Watching Charlie get assassinated. Like, this is just this is what we're walking in, a fallen world of darkness and destruction and gloom, guys. Like, so what do we do? What is our decision to make? And there's a lot of pointing fingers and a lot of this going on. What do we do? We see Jesus, he's still up there, he's still over it all. He's still in control. And so being there on the seventh year and and just knowing that God is still consistent, and here we are, like fighting in year 2020 and and fighting to come back and to worship. And then now we have a president, we have a vice president, we have a speaker of the house, we have leadership that actually wants to promote worship in the very place where we thought to have it for seven years. I'm sorry, man, but I gotta chalk that up as a win. And I gotta just thank God that He is, that He is so faithful. And then I come home and there's tragedy, and I come home and there's loss. I mean, yes, this is our life, guys, but in the midst of this, as it says in Hebrews 2, we see Jesus in the midst of it all. So that's my encouragement to you tonight. Whatever season you're in, don't take your eyes off Jesus. He's in control, he's on the throne. And while you're doing that, read this book. I'm I'm seriously, I'm saying it. All the all the proceeds from this go into the ministry. They don't go to me personally, they go into our ministry so we can do more crazy events like we're like we're doing this year. They they go to make this happen if you want to know the truth. Um, but this book will really encourage you. I really believe it's a manual for the hour that we live. So God bless you guys. I'm gonna go be with my family. Thank you for tuning in to breakthrough hour. I pray this encourages you. Please share this with the people out there. And by the way, the stream for this weekend, it's four hours long. But some of you guys, you know, you don't have anything better to do but push play on YouTube and let that thing just play and saturate your home. I mean, it's a four-hour revival service that is full of preaching and worship and prayers and testimonies, and it's beautiful and stunning. So it's on my YouTube channel. Go there, let us worship Washington, D.C. In fact, you could just watch all of them. I think all seven years are actually on there. Um, I hear a lot of people say, well, Sean, why do you need to raise so much money? And why do you need to that's all I care about? It's like, no, no, no. You don't understand what it costs to do these things. You don't understand uh the difficulty, you don't understand what it takes for the team and for the infrastructure and the logistics and the band and the flights and the bus and the truck and the gas and the sound system. I mean, it is crazy to do this. It literally is crazy. That's why nobody does more than like one event on the mall or any one of these events. I mean, look at all of these. They're all crazy. They're all crazy, but we're doing it because we're worth because he's worthy of it and we see Jesus. So I pray that blesses you. I pray you're encouraged today. Go grab the book, and I'll be coming to you soon. Maybe from DC. This child protection summit I'm going to is going to be so special. Get it, get to lead worship, get to be with some incredible leaders in America. And I can't wait to share what God does from there. God bless you guys. Have an amazing night.
