On Episode 6 of Roll The Receipts, Sherwin and Andrika catch up on their weekend before diving into a full lineup of Bravo and pop culture updates. From a SoHo binge guide to early buzz around Golden Life, plus reactions to Kandi and Todd’s divorce and the latest RHOBH production tea, the conversation sets the stage.

They also highlight their Real Ones of the Week, giving flowers to Michael B. Jordan, Ryan Coogler, the Sinners cast, and Keke Shepherd, while touching on the Oscars conversation and standout moments in entertainment.

Then it is time for the main event. The Married to Medicine finale delivers The Med Gala, where art meets ego and tensions rise beneath the surface. From Eugene and Steve’s showdown to Jackie and Simone quietly steering the room, the night builds to Quad’s emotional moment that leaves the group heading into the reunion with more questions than answers.

The looks were not giving living art. The egos were loud. And the aftermath is just getting started.

SPEAKER_01

She said what? Wait, what now? He went where? Uh-uh, no. Hold on, rewind that. She did what now? I want all the teeth. Hiping hot. Oh, now that's shady. Clock it. Roll the receipts. Roll the receipts with Andrica. And Sherwin. Pull it up. Drop the proof. Run it back.

SPEAKER_00

Roll it.

SPEAKER_02

Hello, hello, everyone, and welcome back to another episode of Roll the Receipts. I'm your host, Andrica.

SPEAKER_00

And I'm Sherwin. And today we are talking about art, ego, and aftermath. The season finale of Married to Medicine happened this past week. And we are ready to roll the receipts for you guys today. But before we do, Andrica, it's always good to see you and talk to you and catch up. How are you doing?

SPEAKER_02

I am doing great, Sherwin. I'm a little hot. You know, I normally am like hot, but I am hot. California, the Bay Area is experiencing a heat wave, honey.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And I am, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's hot up. It's hot. It's hot. We averaging, you know, high 80s, low 90 degree temperatures. How are you doing?

SPEAKER_00

You know, I I tell everybody I have menopause, especially in the summer, because baby, ooh, it is hot out here. So I agree with you. The weather is heating up. Um, I am just enjoying life. You know, it is Persian New Year coming up this weekend. So super excited. Everybody knows that I'm Persian and my family celebrates this year. Uh, every year they celebrate Persian New Year because, you know, we are Persian. So um, but super excited. You know, we have to get like this table together. It's called the half scene. And I don't know if you've ever heard of this, Andrika, but you know, for Persian New Year, you're supposed to set this table, they call it a half scene, and you have different items on the table that represent different things, right? Like, for example, you put some garlic, it symbolizes good health and medicine, and then you put like a mirror and it symbolizes self-reflection and clarity, and goldfish represents life and movement. So just you you get this table together, you put it together, and it's really symbolic. And I'm really excited. I helped my mom this past weekend put that table together because you know, we're gearing up for a big party this weekend, and you know, us Persians, we like to turn up. So I'm excited. So that's what I did this weekend, and that's what I have coming up next weekend. So Tibby continued.

SPEAKER_02

Wait, you says we have coming up next weekend as well. So, how how long do you guys celebrate?

SPEAKER_00

I mean, to be honest with you, I only attend one party because I'm I always say I'm a senior citizen living in a youthful body, but so I can't do more than one. But my mom, of course, hosts multiple, goes to multiple, right? Um, and it takes a lot of preparation. So this past weekend we were helping prepare for it, getting, you know, the items for the table, things like that. But you know, my mom is uh a beast in the kitchen, she's outside and she will cook up the storm, and so you know, she had to host multiple parties, but I told her I will be there for the actual day, you know, the actual holiday, and now for all these, you know, pre-parties that you're throwing. But I'm excited. Look, it's gonna be big, it's gonna be turned, probably a lot of tequila. That's how us Persians like to roll, but um super excited.

SPEAKER_02

So okay, so next year I need advanced notes because I need to celebrate too. If I didn't have plans already this weekend, then I would be there Saturday. But next year, I'm I'm I'm there. Like, let's do it.

SPEAKER_00

Let's do it. You're on the internet.

SPEAKER_02

And not because of tequila, not because of tequila, but I want the whole experience, not want the whole culture aspect of it all. Because I've you're the outside of the Shah's, you're the first person that I actually know, to my knowledge. So I want the experience. Let's do it.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, and you know what I will say is you are more than welcome to come any year, okay? First of all, Andrica. And second of all, we will absolutely have wine there for you. Okay, I know you said tequila, but I know you like your wine. So don't worry, we will have that on deck, okay?

SPEAKER_03

Thank you. Thank you.

SPEAKER_00

Now I'm excited because we have so much to talk about today, but let's go over some quick topics. So, Andrica, kick us off with one of your quick topics this week.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, I actually have more than one quick topic, but before I get into like my bread and butter, I'm about to put this in on you. You you're not even ready for this one. Oh Salt Lake City filming in San Francisco, right here in our backyard. Like, no one's talking about it.

SPEAKER_00

We just found that out today. I'm like, what?

SPEAKER_02

And they're still crazy. They're still here because they were caught filming yesterday for St. Patrick's Day. So you know they're still here on the cash trip today.

SPEAKER_00

It's a cash trip, like and you know, they spied somebody else that was out there. Um I don't know if you guys saw that. I think her name is Ashley Quay. And she loves by Quay.

SPEAKER_02

She's loved by her last Quay, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and she's like the sister-in-law of um one of Whitney's old friends that unfortunately passed away of cancer, but that's how she knows the group, and apparently she was spotted there too. And so nobody knows if she's full-time or if she's a friend of um, but I'm excited to see some new fresh blood on Salt Lake City because we don't have too many new cast members come and go on that show. And so we had Jenny, right? She was like a quick one, but I'm excited to see, you know, well, and Monica, she was super quick, but and let's not forget about Jenshaw, even though Jensha, but she was like more than one season, she was there for a good amount. We we've seen so many girls come and go on these shows, but I hope they find somebody that sticks, you know, if it's a friend of or a full-time the cast alone sticks.

SPEAKER_02

I I honestly I don't need them to give a friend, you know, they can intertwine the friends of, like, I don't care, but the but the actual snowflake holders, right? Amazing, amazing.

SPEAKER_00

But yeah, I mean I will say maybe she's coming for Britney's job.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, and I'm here for it. I could be with her without Britney. I honestly can't. Um, but they were all spotted except you know, Mary, which completely understandable. Um the passing of her son, unfortunately. So, but yes, everyone was there, everyone was dressed in green, and didn't nobody tell us because we would have been there too, I'm sure.

SPEAKER_00

I would have grabbed something green in my closet, even though I completely forgot it was St. Patrick's Day this week.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my god, I was so mad at Sherwin yesterday.

SPEAKER_00

Somebody pinched me. I turned around, like, who the hell just touched me? And I'm like, Andrica's over here pinching me and shit because I didn't wear green today, okay? So next year I gotta remember to wear green, okay?

SPEAKER_02

Yes, yes, yes. Okay, so last week was Southern Hospitality episode two. Um, so I just want you guys know this weekend I did it finally. I created my binge guy, it'll be dropping for you guys on Instagram today. I created my binge guy. So I've been so ho out this weekend. Um, I did other things as well. I actually, you know, went out with friends and yada. But I spent a bulk of my weekend watching Southern Host Sality all up from season season one, episode one until season four, episode two. So last episode, wrap it up. Um I'm glad that Maddie and Brad had a solo conversation, and I truly hope that they can genuinely move forward and we can all move on. Okay, I genuinely do. Um, and I think it was a good episode, even though she threw some shade in there to her boyfriend, uh Joe Bradley. When she was they was calling each other out, she was like, No, Joe, you stay here. Like, Maddie be going hard.

SPEAKER_00

Like, she's like, mind you, I will just say on Joe Bradley, I still think you're in the closet, but continue.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. Um, speaking of in the closet, um, I did catch, you know, in one of those uh scenes, uh Justin, the new guy, said that he's 30 gay. And I and no one is 100% straight. And I'm like, oh, speak for yourself, Justin, because I'm 100% straight. Um, okay. Um, I am strictly Dickley, and that's okay for me. And you know, and those that are strictly Dickley, you know, there's 800, well no, eight billion people in the world, you know, half of us are strictly dickly. That's okay. You know, but speak speak for yourself, Justin. Um, also, you know, Brad is, you know, is really pissed off at Emmy, and I get it. Um, Emmy said that Brad makes him feel unsafe and the impact that it carries is a black man, you know, which is similar to how aggressive implacts impacts black women. So I stand with Brad. You know, you let her know. He's clearly we ended the episode with um her hyperventilating having heart populations, um, because they about to get they about to go in. And when I say they, I mean the cast, not just Brad, but the cast is about to let her know about herself. And that is gonna be happening tonight on this episode three, which I'm gonna be ready for because I'm over Emmy. Her and Will, that's her fiance, they can they go. She should have gone ahead and went with him and not came back this season. Um, and finally, just to wrap this up, listen here. I just want everybody to know that Maddie is sober. Okay, so everything that she does, she is not under the influence. Okay, she had a huge thing, she's been sober for uh I can't quote the numbers, but she's been sober for some years now. And she had to meet with her sponsor after the big situation with Brad and with TJ. And let me tell you this Maddie Maddie had me clutching my pearls because she said she made a PowerPoint presentation to show when TJ said we weren't real friends, she came with receipts, proof, timelines, and screenshots in a PowerPoint presentation. I love me a good PowerPoint child.

SPEAKER_00

Glock it.

SPEAKER_02

I said Maddie is amazing because this right here is iconic. Have you? I mean, what did you think of that? Did you see that?

SPEAKER_00

I did, and you know what? Round of applause for Maddie because sometimes you need to pull out a PowerPoint, an Excel, uh Microsoft Word. You know what I'm saying? You might have to pull out text, you might have to pull out emails, you know, the Epstein files of it all. Okay, you might have to do your due diligence here because at the end of the day, I mean, receipts are what's gonna free your name. And I feel like I from what I'm seeing, because like everybody knows, this is my first time watching Soho, right? I'm not privy to all the the stuff that happened in the previous seasons. But when somebody's lying on you or speaking on your name, sometimes you need to defend yourself. And that's also what I have to say about Bradley, too, because there's a lot of stigma around calling people of color aggressive or hostile or making them feel uncomfortable. So I'm gonna need Emmy to watch her words because at the end of the day, whether or not you felt uncomfortable, the way you delivered it and the way you said it is gonna make anybody of color feel uncomfortable. So exactly for you to say that to a black man and tell him that you made him you are uncomfortable when you're around him, that's not something that is tolerated in society today. So I'm not here for it, Emmy. I agree with you, Andrica. She could go ahead and leave the heart palpitations of it all, the hyper-ventilating girl, the Oscar goes to because go ahead and cut out all this acting, okay? You know you fucked up. And so people are coming for her. And look, like I said, I don't know what happened the previous seasons, but you gotta stand on business this this season, okay? So that is my take on Soho. Any last little thoughts there before I bring up my topic? No, you go right ahead. All right. Well, look, I want to talk about this golden life that's starting to film, okay? Because this is the new spin-off of some of the New York housewives from back in the day that's now gonna premiere on E. Okay, so it's not on Bravo, it's not on Peacock, it's gonna be on E. Now, the cast consists of Ramona, Kelly, Ben Simone, Luan Delesseps, Dorinda, Sonia. Okay, now remember the last time we talked about this, Jill was supposed to be part of the show, but then after her comments and her ignorance towards the Bad Bunny concert, I should say she's no longer part of the cast, and I'm here for that, okay? Stand up. Goodbye, Jill. Goodbye, good night. Now, I wanted to hear your thoughts, Enrico. What do you think of this cast? I'm excited because I think with the new Real Housewives of New York, I know you were a fan of the new reboot, but I still kind of miss the old, you know, not the old ladies, I should say it differently. But I miss the older yeah, I miss the legacy. The legacy, I'm gonna say it like that. I miss the legacy ladies. Okay, so I'm excited. I think the chemistry is gonna be funny, it's gonna be dramatic. We're gonna get some good tea. But what do you think of this cast?

SPEAKER_02

I mean, I'm excited to see everybody except Ramona.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_02

I just I'm gonna be honest, I don't she could go.

SPEAKER_00

But Ramona's good TV. I would one thing I will say about Ramona is as much as she's unfiltered and just doesn't know what she's doing and honestly has no social cues whatsoever, I think sometimes she's kind of funny. You know, like when she had the eyes popping out on the runway, like, girl, that's an iconic moment, okay?

SPEAKER_02

I mean, I mean, yeah, I mean, I mean, she is an iconic like, get a life loser, get a life loser, like I mean, you know, all that in her Pinot Grigio. But after the way she treated um why do I want to say Emmy? But that's not her name, Ebony, excuse me. Ebony from on the last that's like she's the reason why it's all over, why we had to even do a New York reboot, you know. So you know, even though they brought her back for Ultimate Girls Trip, you know, two times, right? Um I just yeah, I stand where I stand with Ramona. Um, and so, but I'm sure it's gonna be a good show, you know. I'm you know, I'm as far as the nostalgic reason, um, it's the you know, and I'm here, you know, Sonia, you know, even though she does her stuff as well, um, who came to me at BravoCon, by the way. Um, but um, yeah, I mean, I mean, I'm sure I'm gonna be watching. Um, but yeah, I'm excited for the cast, you know.

SPEAKER_00

You know who would be a good fit? Like, if they're not gonna cast Joe, thank God. You know who would be a good fit, honestly. I would love to see Tinsley Mortimer on the show. I think she would be a good fit. Like, she had some good moments with the ladies.

SPEAKER_02

Like, I feel like Yeah, but she's not golden, she's not, she's not, she was always the young one. She's not like I don't how I mean, you know, I don't mean I don't mean it like that, but I mean, there's been so many New York housewives, right? Right, so many of them, like they had uh they could have they had slim pigs. What about the lady that threw her legs off?

SPEAKER_00

Like, she could have right, you know, like they've had so many.

SPEAKER_02

Maybe uh Carol Bassett could have been on this cast, right? Carol Bassett?

SPEAKER_00

Carol Radswell, right?

SPEAKER_02

Carol Radswell, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

But you know, she's coming as a friend of on the um the new season of House Lives of New York, so she booked and busy, honey.

SPEAKER_02

I know, but maybe she should have been on the golden line. Like, you know what I'm saying? Like, I don't Tinsley wouldn't have worked for me on this show because she is not golden. All these ladies are golden girls, and yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Then you know what? Call Alex McCord, pack your bags, Alex.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, all right.

SPEAKER_00

We're not over. What's his name? Simon, the husband. Oh my god, we need more Simon. All right, he was one of the original housewives, okay?

SPEAKER_02

Alex would have been perfect, honey. Yes, yes, yes. Take off Ramona and give us Alex. I would have been there for that. Yes.

SPEAKER_00

I'm here for it. Well, heading over to Atlanta, Andrika, what's going on with Miss Candy Burris?

SPEAKER_02

Well, Candy and Todd. Todd. The scheme. Yes. Yeah, he tried to trick Kenny with this bullshit. Um, but they have set out their divorce, the fastest divorce. Her divorce went faster than Kenya. Um, so their divorce was their divorce was settled on March 11th of 2026. Um, and I'm just gonna read straight from the Google. Um, they have settled their divorce, finalized their split after months of negotiation. Um, they have agreed on March 11th with court ordering them to submit settlement paperwork and covering child support and a parenting plan. Their divorce was officially finalized after Candy initially sought joint custody but later requested sole custody. I found this hilarious. Citing Todd as the being the primary caregiver.

SPEAKER_00

Oh maybe it was a scheme that Todd set up. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Um Candy reportedly filed for divorce in November 2025, again, fast divorce ever, after discovering Todd's hidden conversations with other women allegedly leading to the end of their 11-year marriage. Now, Candy has not said, you know, what Todd actually did to lead the to to lead to this divorce. Um, she said that when she was on Watch Happens Live with Andy Cohen, um, because Andy was trying to get her out of get it out of her, and she was like, I'm not gonna talk about that right now here on this platform on this stage. So we technically don't know why they have a divorce. And when I say we technically, I mean because we haven't heard it from Candy's mouth, because that's the only mouth that I'm gonna believe. Um, but I did find this interesting about the hidden conversations with other women. Like, what you doing, Todd? Um also there was reports that Todd was trying to overturn the prenup, and that's why we always like, he can't overturn a prenup, you know, roll the receipts back to, you know, Kenny's wedding spinoff where you know he signed. She was like, that never happened. You cannot do that. When you have a that's why they filmed him and he signed it. So there was the proof alone. He couldn't ever overturn that. So the divorce was it is what was hers before the divorce is hers. They literally took everything that they made together, split it evenly, and then what was his was his. So that's another reason why the divorce happened so fast, I'm sure. Um, but yeah, so Candy Um and Todd are divorced. What do you think?

SPEAKER_00

You know what? I gotta give it to Candy because that is a businesswoman right there. She is smart as hell, and she knows how to protect herself, and I'm sure she's lived a life being in the industry at such a young age that she just has to have her guard up. And so I commend her for just having the strength, first of all, to go through with this, and then second of all, to really work on a solution, right? Because listen, at the end of the day, as much as people were giving her crap about Mary and Todd, this is the person that she chose. And so she does have to make it work with this man. They got two kids together, you know. And so I'm glad that they're able to settle their differences now, get it out the way, and just focus on being good co-parents for their kids, right? I mean, that's what's most important here.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, yes. At the end of this report, it's was said that Candy has expressed that she's focusing on co-parenting with Todd. Um, and she is aiming to have a cordial relationship for their children's sake, and not just Ace and Blaze, but they were a blended family. So Kayla and Riley are involved in this as well, you know, for their children's sake, right? Um, Ace and Blaze are the forefront because they are the minors of it all, right? So, you know, Riley clearly is up spending all of Candy's money. That Candy, I'm just no shade to Riley, but Candy has said it herself on Watch Happens Live. She was like, Riley spent all money. My Riley got a two bedroom apartment in New York City. Yes. So Mandy was like, Two, it's only her. She was like, she made a case. Remember, she's going to law school, and she and Riley has a two bedroom apartment in New York City, and I can only imagine how much that.

SPEAKER_00

Right. Especially New York. Well, she got her own income now that she's on next gen. So you know that might help a little bit there. But you know what's funny that you mentioned earlier is that Candy's not talking about it on Watch What Happens Live. Listen, Candy waiting for that Gail King interview that's gonna drop. Okay, she that that is what she's waiting for, okay. The big bugs. When you sit down with Gail King, you know, you get some big bugs, okay?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, or be on the Oprah Podcast, or she might be on um speak her, she might be on her own, speak on it, right? She might not forget about speak on it. You know, stuff. That's true.

SPEAKER_00

You know what's funny too that I realized as fast as this divorce was, if Portia had taken a page out of Candy's book, she could have gone through about 10 more husbands. Okay, that's all I'm gonna say.

SPEAKER_02

I'm gonna say sit my wife.

SPEAKER_00

Portia, take a page from Candy's book, okay? All these divorces that you got lasted about three or four seasons. Listen, Candy wrapped hers up before season even started airing. I don't have no words for you, sir. You know how to be a little shady. Portia, I love you. I love you. You know we love you. Well, listen, I'm gonna head over to Beverly Hills real quick, Andrica. If you're cool with Okay, you go, you go. Listen, I want to talk about some. Yeah, so this season, first of all, this season is a little dry for me. I hate to break it to all the Beverly Hills fans out there, but I'm just not feeling it this season. There's something that's not working. And if you want a quick recap of what happened on this last episode, they're still in this Italy trip, you know. The Amanda Francis of it all, she's still a topic. We're still getting into it with her about what she said about Dorit's relationship. She's not standing on it, she's deflecting to Kyle. Kyle's not wanting to speak up. I mean, it's given an episode of Silent Disco, okay? Because I just am not getting anything from it. And listen, one thing I have to say about this episode, the only good part was when Kathy Hilton checked Amanda and said, you know what, Amanda, you need to know how to read the room, okay, and know your place. And I'm gonna go ahead and give Kathy a round of applause because Kathy usually doesn't get in the paint, but she definitely was like, Listen, I'm gonna have to tell you when you're not standing on business. And she told Amanda that she wasn't standing on business, and I'm here for it.

SPEAKER_02

So had me clutching my pearls. You know what's funny is that Kathy had everybody. So Tilly was on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, and Andy asked her, How did she feel about what Kathy said? And she was like, you know, she said the same thing. Like Kathy doesn't say much, but when she says that she meant it, and then she also said that as much as Amanda wants everyone to get to know her, she should try and get to know other people as well. And I was like, come on, Tilly, the friends up is the only ones that's bringing it outside of Rachel on Beverly Hills.

SPEAKER_00

I agree, I agree now. Despite how I personally feel, or you personally feel, or the audience feels about Amanda, I will say she is making people talk, and that's one thing that production looks for when they pick housewives is somebody that's controversial, that can make people talk, get the tongues wagging. And I will say, speaking of being a dry season, allegedly, well, make sure I say allegedly, okay? Because there's a source that's close to production. Um, and this is what they're allegedly saying, right? So this is evolution. Evolution is a production company that films the housewives, right? And then they work with Bravo, right? And they sell, you know, essentially they're the production company that's filming this on behalf of Bravo, right? So production scared, production staff are scared of being fired after the poor reaction to the latest season of Beverly Hills. Bravo execs are not happy with the quality of the show, and evolution media has been made aware, including Alex Baskin. Okay, that's what a source close to production has told the zone. Now, they're talking about some of the newbies as well. They say, as great as Rachel Zoe is, she hasn't lifted the show. Viewer reaction to Amanda Francis has been poor, as like how we're talking right now. But if it wasn't for her, the show would be in dire straits. So there's a little bit of mixed reaction going on here. I know a lot of people don't like Amanda. I know a lot of people love Rachel. That's not what production is looking at right now. That's not what Bravo and NBC is looking at. They're looking at how can we lift this show? How can how can we get the ratings back to where they were when we had, to your point, Lisa Vanderpump saying goodbye, Kyle, you know, and um Yolanda yelling at Lisa Rena across the table. You know, where were those seasons, right? We need to go back to basics with Beverly Hills a little bit because I also get the feeling that it is kind of dying out. So what do you think of this, Enrica?

SPEAKER_02

I know this is just a rumor, but well, sometimes it's not always just the cast winning a good cast shakeup and all that. You know, sometimes it's not that. Um there um was a in the comments, so sometimes you know it goes down the comments, right? And Chris, excuse me, King Chris International said the same way y'all put New York, Miami, and New Jersey on the pause. I think it's time to put Beverly Hills on that list too. A restructuring has been needed. And I have to agree with King Chris International because it is time for them to go pause. Like, what are we season uh 14? We we we a double-digit season right now. I know it's not 16 or 17 because they came after OC, but it's a good season 13 or 14.

SPEAKER_00

14. I think we're in 14, but I'm looking it up right now.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and you know, it might be, you know, might because Miami always goes on pause. They on pause right now. Oh, we're on season 15.

SPEAKER_00

We're on season 15, by the way.

SPEAKER_02

Oh wow, okay. So yeah, you know, Miami's on pause again, and I just don't understand why, because what what why do they need to be on pause? You know, like they were doing great, they just came off a long hiatus. Um, clearly, New York had to go on pause, and now they have a new New York, right? Jersey has been on pause, and you know, we're here to hear rumors and rumors about only Dolores Tree and Melissa coming back, right? So it's it's it is it Beverly Hills needs to Beverly Hills. I don't know why they don't do it on the West Coast, but Beverly Hills and OC, Ben should have been should have been on pause, especially OC. I feel like when you are filtering through housewives too fast, maybe it's not production. Because again, who's had the most filtering of housewives? New York, OC, and Beverly Hills and Jersey.

SPEAKER_00

That's true, that is true. So we will see. I mean, they are saying that they are looking at possibly, you know, shaking it up, getting new casts, getting new production. So we'll see how it goes. I know this season for me personally has been a little dry, so I can't blame them for wanting to go in this direction and shake things up, but I think to your point, it's really about repositioning, right? It's not about just adding new people and just cycling through a bunch of new housewives, but it's really about finding a cast that works. I think that's why Salt Lake City in their short tenure has been so successful, is because we've gotten to know the women, you know, and really invest in them. So they didn't take a page out of Salt Lake City's book, and you know, and they only have a group that works, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And so they only had three that they only cycled through three housewives. That's it.

SPEAKER_00

Right, exactly.

SPEAKER_02

What's up? So it is so again, it's production, you know, it's production, and um speaking of productions and for and and the people and all that, um Paramount Um Pictures uh announced that the BET Plus app is shutting down and they are now owning it, and they bought out Tyler Perry's 25% stake in the streaming service. Um shocking. I was not expecting that, but according to Black Millionaires, um, Paramount is making a major shift in streaming strategy, in streaming strategy, excuse me. Um, and is going to shut down the BET Plus app and moving its content to Paramount Plus, um, a part of the transition. Um, they are going to fold the entire BET Plus catalog, which is more than a thousand hours of programming, into Paramount Plus. This move is intended to consolidate the company's streaming platforms and expand the reach of BET content through its own flagship streaming service. Um I was not expecting this. Um, they said the decision was reflecting on a broader trend across the streaming industry. So I just feel like that the big, the big uh, I don't know what they're called, but the big, I'm gonna say the big houses. So NBC, Fox, ABC, all them. I think that they're just mad that everybody's streaming and they just trying to get their money back. Because no one, I mean, when the last time you had cable. I don't have I ain't had cable in deck in a decade now. Okay, and so I mean, everybody I know stream, even my mama stream. And I really just but I think it's crazy that you know it was a big thing that Tyler Perry, you know, in the black community, like he oh, yes, he owns part of BT. BT, who does don't know, stands for Black Entertainment Television, and you know, BT Awards and Cedar's World and Monsters and Park for My Millennials, you know, we just had a space, you know, outside of MTV in VH1. We had our own space to have our own black content, and Tyler Perry, as we everyone should know, with Medea and other black movies, and not just actors and actresses, but the production and everybody behind the scenes are black. And so he had years ago, he had you know bought 25 of BET and created BET Plus with that, where he basically streamed his own shows on there as well. And now Paramount was like, Yeah, nah, shutting it down. I just find that to be crazy because there's some shows on there like Miss Pat's the Miss Pat show that I actually enjoy. So I'm actually kind of sad to see this to see this come out, but I guess business is business. I mean, I don't know, it's kind of crazy. I didn't that check must have been good. That check must have been real good. Yeah, I'm yeah, because they said that his 25% stake was worth tens of thousands of dollars. So I even though finances was not details were not public disclosed, but he the 25 25 in a company, like I'm sure it was worth tens of thousands of dollars. So we'll see how this unfolds. Sure, we see how this I'll be watching, I'll be watching, that's for sure.

SPEAKER_00

Well, you know, I love Tyler Perry. I think he's an excellent director, actor, just an incredible entrepreneur. Um, and speaking of actors and directors, I don't know if you watched this past weekend, but it was the Oscars. You know, I watched the Oscars, okay? Look, I love a good award show season. I'm here for all the fashions, the awards. Look, I love it. Now, this is a perfect segue, Andrika, into our real ones of the week because my real ones is related to the Oscars. And my real one of the week, I'm gonna kick it off, is the one and only Michael B. Jordan. Shout out to him for winning Best Actor at the Oscars for his movie and for his role in Cinners, which is a phenomenal movie. And shout out to Ryan Kugler, who is the director who won best original screenplay writing. So he's from the Bay, he's from Richmond. Shout out to Richmond, Southside, Southside. Now, Ryan Kugler and Michael B. Jordan are like this power duo. So I'm here for it. They're incredible, they're real ones. And you know what's the most real thing I saw Michael B. Jordan do is after the show, he went straight to In N Out. Now, if that isn't a California thing, then I don't know what is, okay? Going straight to In N Out with your Oscar in hand and sitting down and enjoying a good double double with animal fries, okay? So shout out to Michael B. Jordan, Ryan Kugler, and the entire centers cast. Y'all did that, the Oscars. So I'm here for it.

SPEAKER_02

I'm here, and I'm so glad, you know, I all that that you said, Sherwin. Exactly. I I agree with you. Um, but I do want to talk about um um Michael B's speech um and how he acknowledged those that came before him. What I found interesting is that only he's the sixth black person to win actor, best actor, right? So six in 98 years. Six black men have won best actor in 98 years, Cindy Portier won in 1964. We got this huge gap until Denzel Washington won in 2002. 1964 to 2002, Jamie Foxx in 2005, Fors Whitaker in 2007, Will Smith in 2022, and Michael B. Jordan in 2026, which I find to be absolutely crazy in 98 years. Um, also insane Holly Berry is still the only black best actress, and she won in 2002, while 10 black women have won for best supporting actress, and of course, multiple winners like Denzel Washington and I Maharshala Ali, Ruthie Carter, Willie Burton, and Russell Williams have won, you know, multiple awards. But overall, overall, out of the Academy Awards for the aka the Oscars, black nominees and winners combined is approximately two percent in the history of awards according to the inclusion list. Two percent. I'm gonna let everybody sit on that.

SPEAKER_00

That's crazy. I think we just need way more representation at the Oscars and these award shows.

SPEAKER_02

But you know, and you know, and I get it, like some people are like, you know, forget the Oscars. Let me they'd be like, fuck the Oscars, like we don't care about them. We know we do good work, our fans, our people, our checks, our stuff shows, you know, that we've done good work. But it is good to be acknowledged from just at a higher level. And when I say higher level, because clearly when you have everyone is has Academy Award winner or Academy Award nominee, you know, once you get into that playing field, they're gonna always put that on them, which is why I say is the highest accolade in um the acting, you know, the academy, you know, lane of it all. You know, I what does it stand for? I say for something else, but motion picture and something, something, right?

SPEAKER_00

Um, so and I will say just on that note, too, I heard I don't remember who it was, but somebody had said that when they won an Oscar, that their rate went up a lot more, too. So they were making a lot more on movies and on sets because when you get that title of being an Academy Award winner, there's gonna be more people watching the movie, you're gonna bring more ratings. So there is definitely a little check bump, you know, salary bump with having that title, right?

SPEAKER_02

It's and it's and I've heard that as well. And it's two different ones. It's a bump when you have winner, and it's uh, you know, a bump when you get nominee. Clearly, it's a different, you know. But think about like Taraji, right? Taraji P. Henson, when she was nominated for supporting actress in that movie she did with Brad Pitt. I can't think of it right. Benjamin Button, right? Now, every time they announce her or talk about her, even her bio on Wikipedia, it's always Academy Award nominee nominee, Taraji P. Henson. So just, you know, let's just Academy in these next 98 years, if you can, please and thank you. Let's try to take that two percent up, you know, turn a two to a four, four to a six.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_02

You know, whatever that JC lyric is, you know. Um do better, do better. Absolutely. Do better, do better.

SPEAKER_00

I agree. Um, but okay. Well, Andrica, tell me who your real one of the week is.

SPEAKER_02

My real one of the week is the incomparable Kiki Shepherd. Her recently passed away on March 16th. Um, I heard it was because of a heart attack, um, but sources have not confirmed. But that's what I'm hearing. And I've heard that from um just being on threads. Um, but Kiki Shepard, for those who don't know, is well, was, excuse me, a television host, an actress, a philanthropist, and best known for her 16 year as the co-host of the Showtime at the Apollo. Um, I used to look forward to seeing what Kiki was gonna wear when she came out um to do to, you know, help with amateur night and put her hands up above the people so we can scream. And, you know, we used to um basically Apollo night, uh Apollo Amateur Night was basically kind of like a talent show contest, right? And so you would give by who your screams, your hoop and hollerings of who you thought was like great. And so she would come out in these amazing gowns and and beautiful fashions, and you know, it definitely was a runway, and she just always looked great, and I used to look forward to seeing her. So I just want to give her her flowers and rest in peace, um, Miss Kiki.

SPEAKER_00

Rest in peace. I mean, she definitely deserves her flowers. I'm glad that you gave her some recognition, Andrica. Definitely a real one of the week. So our hearts and prayers go out to her family. Um, rest in peace, Kiki. You were a legend. Now, let's get into some of the drama that's unfolding in Married to Medicine. What do you think, Andrica? Should we start talking about this Married to Medicine that's going on over here?

SPEAKER_02

No, let me just start off by telling everybody if you haven't seen Mary to Episode Excuse me, Married to Medicine finale episode. It's time for you to end this podcast right now, pause it, and go watch, and then come back because we about to get into it. And if you ain't seen it, you don't want to hear. Because I I sure you know, because I was texting you while I was watching and had me on the edge of my seat.

SPEAKER_00

And mind you, I was dead asleep when Andrika was texting me, and I woke up the next morning with about 15 messages of her freaking out over the Mary to Medicine finale. Okay, so just so y'all get a little insight into my relationship with Andrika. I wake up in the morning hearing about all the drama going down on Mary to Medicine. So I'm here for it. I'm ready to break it down, Andrika. Look, we're calling today's episode art, ego, and aftermath because there was a lot of ego. The aftermath is crazy. And where was the art? Because I'm I think I might have missed it, okay?

SPEAKER_02

Now the art was only from the people that was doing the art.

SPEAKER_00

Exactly.

SPEAKER_02

But only from the people that was doing the actual, the actual artist was doing the art.

SPEAKER_00

I agree. I think that they could have stepped it up a little bit, but let's give the viewers a little recap. So, for those who aren't keeping up with us on Married to Medicine, they throw this event every year. It's called the Med Gala, like MED, like Medicine, right? Because a lot of them are doctors or wives of doctors, and so they put together this gala to it's kind of a fundraiser.

SPEAKER_02

It's a fundraiser, so it's basically a play off of the Met Gala that we all know um that happens in New York. So it's a play off of that.

SPEAKER_00

It's a playoff of that, and you know, every year they have a chairwoman and somebody that really hosts it, and it's always been Jackie, you know. Um, she's really the spearhead of this event. But this year she put Toya in charge, and we all know Toya's not a doctor, she's the wife of Dr. Eugene Harris, who's an ER physician. And so this is first of all, a ballsy move from Jackie to put Toya in charge of this big event. Now, the whole episode was really about Toya and her last minute preparation and planning for this. Like, who changes the venue seven days before the event? And then who changes people two days before the event where the address is? Like Toya, exactly. So, Toya, the planning was a little bit of a mess. I'm a little bit messed up why you didn't include certain women, why Mimi and Brandy and Angel were excluded from knowing about the planning. Um, but listen, I don't know. Toya, what do you think, Andrica?

SPEAKER_02

First of all, I'm all I have always been Team Toy and Team Eugene Harris. Okay, I have been ten toes down, but now I'm only. Five toes down, okay, with them because that not okay. 10 out of 10 do not recommend Jackie. You played us because why would you do this to us? We know why we she did this, it made great TV, okay. But this was not okay, especially after the shenanigans that happened last year. Like Toya, no, and Eugene. Eugene was basically Toya's uh uh uh uh voice box because he was thank you, spokesperson, because he was so on my nerve. Okay, Eugen, as we're going to call him today.

SPEAKER_00

Let me sit my drink. Oh my god.

SPEAKER_02

Because Quad was right, just for these for this season, we're gonna refer to him as Eugina, and I'm standing five toes down on Eugina. Oh my god, because I really do like them. I love I just said last episode, like Toya, like let's be honest, like, girl, you live the life because of Dr. Eugene. I really do like them, but I did not like them today. Yes, well, yesterday, whenever I watched the damn show, but I did not like them. Uh-uh. I was disappointed. Heart broke.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and you know, during the whole planning of it all, I was nervous for Toya, and I'm not even part of the event, but I'm nervous for Toya. I'm like, is this shit gonna come through? Are people gonna donate? Are people gonna buy tickets? I mean, with all this last-minute shit, I agree with Simone. I am not writing a blind check to anybody, you know, unless I got the address and I know exactly where the event is and who's going and all that. Like, for you to not even have those details ironed out and then ask the audacity to ask people for money and not even tell them where the money is going is wild to me. So, Toya, I agree with Heavenly, it was an F for planning if we were gonna give it a grade. Now, the event being grew.

SPEAKER_02

Right, okay, sorry, but I heard you say blind check. So I'll let the people know for those that didn't pause um and continue to listen. Um, everyone, all the ladies, the whole entire cast is asked to donate money,$2,500 to the Med Gala. So if you donate, you know, clearly, you know, you're you're a part of the fund, so you should know. So they've been this why that this is why it was so much drama because Twit is wanting to write a check and shut up, but that's not how it works. You when you write a check of your personal money, you should know where your money is going when it's going to a fundraiser. Because it's it's it the$2,500 helps the helps the plane of it all, right? And then the ticket sales are actually helping the scholarship of it all. So I just want to let the people know um why Simone wrote a blind check, which she shouldn't have done.

SPEAKER_00

And for those who want who don't know, the scholarship goes towards students who are going to med school and who can't necessarily afford to go to med school, right? So that's where that scholarship money is going towards. And which is beautiful. It's it's amazing. I mean, I think it's a great cause, but I agree with Simone. I mean, I'm not gonna write a$2,500 check. It's not like you're giving somebody$20,$40, right? I mean, gas money, grocery money. I mean, that it's not like that.

SPEAKER_02

$500, you know,$500.

SPEAKER_00

Even if it was a hundred, a thousand dollars. Like if it's a thousand dollars, you know, maybe I might question it a little bit, but twenty five hundred dollars is like a decent amount for you to ask somebody, well, what am I paying for?

SPEAKER_02

That's right off.

SPEAKER_00

So, yeah. I mean, so you should know what your money is going to.

SPEAKER_02

So especially of the controversy of last year, because all Toya did was donate wine, cases of wine, right, with her name on it because she had that partnership with Kendall Jackson. So again, she donated cases of wine, which probably costed over$2,500 retail.

SPEAKER_00

Right. And so for this uh med gala, the ones that did donate, just so everybody knows, it was Jackie, it was Simone, it was Heavenly, it was um Quad, it was Contessa, and it was I feel like I'm missing somebody. Toya. Well, Toya, Toya, the last one. Yeah, the core collective is what she calls it, right? Um, the ones that didn't donate were pretty much the friends of, except for Mimi, who is full-time. So it was Mimi, who, by the way, we talked about this last week. Steve had already said in the episode, I'm not gonna donate. And we listed those reasons last week. So if you didn't catch that, make sure y'all go back, rewind it, watch episode five, okay? We love a good little shout out to our own episode. Um, but the ones that didn't donate were essentially Mimi, Brandy, and Angel, okay. Now, before we even get into the drama that happened at the event, let's talk about the fashions real quick, okay? Because the theme was living art, okay? And I thought it was a mess. Okay, just to put it bluntly. Because, first of all, Toya, what are you wearing on your face? You look like a living flower more than living art. Uh I wasn't feeling the makeup, right?

SPEAKER_02

Even though she made this big old announcement that said, I gotta go get a make another makeup artist, she's gonna paint a whole face on my face.

SPEAKER_00

No, she painted a flower on your face. You know what? And then we got her husband over here, Dr. Eugene, who I understood the assignment, but I don't know if the execution was necessarily there. I mean, me and you talked about it. I love the fresh prints reference where you know you did the inside out jacket, whatnot. I would have loved to see you elevated just a little bit more. Like, could you maybe wear like a nice shirt underneath, not just a plain white T. I mean, the fashion, it wasn't hidden on the Harris side, okay? Any comments on Eugene?

SPEAKER_02

Eugina, or as I should say, because yeah, but somebody on Beyonce's internet said that he looked like Mr. Brown from when the Tyler Perry moved, and I can't unsee it. Because his outfit did look like Mr. And it doesn't happen that he got a bald head, too.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, usually he looked like Mr.

SPEAKER_00

They kind of look like brothers. I'm not gonna lie. He could definitely pass with as a uh Mr. Brown brother, okay. Um, I'm here for it. Now, who else is Mr.

SPEAKER_02

Brown, not Eugina?

SPEAKER_00

Now, speaking of people who missed the mark, I thought Contessa missed the mark completely. I mean, I don't know what she was wearing in the house with all that nipple out, and then you came out with nothing on, but like you had this regular smaller dress, right?

SPEAKER_02

First of all, Contessa needs a stylist during the season. You if you talk about how much money you have, I'm gonna need Contessa the higher stylist for the season. If she went to the show, she's beautiful, she is she's gorgeous, but this I don't know what in the gladiator has gotten into her. She is going to live in Sheen and Shine, and she's a wrestler, not Sheen and Shine. She's Satana Satana. Sorry, excuse me. Shout out to my friend Satana. Maybe she's going something going on. She needs to go me to call her. Hey, Satana girl, but Contessa um really truly needs a stylus today. Today, please.

SPEAKER_00

And you know what? She showed up with a little picture frame and she said, Look, I'm the Contessa, the artwork. Well, honey, if that was a piece of art in a museum, I would have walked past it. So I don't know what you're talking about.

SPEAKER_03

Sure.

SPEAKER_00

Um, just saying, uh, you're a beautiful girl, but it's given nothing in the face, it's given nothing in the outfit. Nothing.

SPEAKER_02

And you know it's funny when she did that, and then someone on Bravo Bravo community made into a me. I have a picture like that from back in the day when I was for photographer. I'm gonna go back in my files and find it. I have a picture of me holding up a frame, and I'm like, smile, because we was okay, I was working for a school, I was working for a school portrait photographer, and we were to do like fun things, you know, for senior photos. And one of them was we had a picture frame, and you know, blah blah blah. I have a picture like that. I'm gonna go find it so I can show y'all that I am art.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, with face, but with face, and we're gonna call it the Andrica. And it's gonna be on the wall, honey. Okay, now let's get back to the outfits because I feel like everybody missed a damn mark on the looks. The only one that's Brandy, you're the only one that kind of understood the assignment. I thought that you I love the dress. I thought it was out of the box, I thought it was high fashion couture. That's what we were here for. Um, so Brandy, snaps for you, snaps for you. Okay. Now, any other last little comments on the outfits, Andrika?

SPEAKER_02

No, I have no the the fashions gave nothing, so I have nothing to say.

SPEAKER_00

Listen, if fashion police were still around, and if Joan Rivers was still alive today, they would have been red for filth, okay? Now, for filth. Speaking of being read for filth, oof, that was a good transition. I'm proud of myself. The Eugene and Steve showdown. Like, it was so good, it was so good.

SPEAKER_02

It was so good, it was so good. Let me go to my text messages of what I was sending to you because I don't even know.

SPEAKER_00

And while you pull that up, just so the audience knows, we just told you guys who donated and who didn't, right? Mimi and Steve said they're not donating, and they didn't buy a ticket. They walked right in. They said we're a special guest, aka we're a part of the cast, and we need to be here for filming, okay? And I can't the audacity of the lady, first of all, to be like, Hold on, let me go ahead and get the manager. Like, not you giving them the finger and going to get the manager on somebody that's a part of this show who's full-time, mind you.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, I feel like Eugene and Toya set set her up to do that too.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, absolutely. It was given season one when Nini wasn't on the list for Sheree's divorce party, and it was like, You're not on the list. That was amazing, okay. Now, that was a good reference, right? I love that. It was a great reference. Now that one, Sharon, because that's thank you, thank you, thank you. Now, Eugene walked right up to Steve and said, Did you buy a ticket? And Steve is like, No, I didn't buy a ticket.

SPEAKER_02

Or guess of Jackie Walters.

SPEAKER_00

Exactly. And we are on the list to come, we are in the group chat, whatever. And Eugene is literally asking them to pay the ticket fee. So it's$150 for each ticket. And so essentially they had to pay$300. They paid it right there and then, but Steve wasn't feeling it. Okay, Steve pulled Eugene to the side and said, Look, you asked me to pay$300 at the door, you called us out, you singled us out. There was nobody else that was called out but us. And we feel we feel disrespected, we feel offended, and we could have actually walked away buying one of these paintings for five, ten, fifteen thousand, but now we're salty because you had the audacity to come check us at the door.

SPEAKER_02

Exactly. He said, he said, you you worried about three hundred dollars when you could have got five, ten thousand dollars, but I see you, and let me and while I have the floor for a second, sure. Um I pulled up my text. I said Eugene is a bitch for that move he pulled on me, me, and Steve. That's what I said. That's what I said.

SPEAKER_00

You know, uh first of all, it was good TV. We'll give him that. I applaud Steve because this is how I feel, okay? And then I'm gonna give it back to you, and Dre gonna give me your thoughts on this as well. I feel like Steve is just such a great husband on this show. He defends his wife until his wife says, Yeah, and until his wife says, sign the check. I'm not signing no check. And that's one thing I respect about Steve. Him and his wife are on the same page. I mean, we cannot say the same thing about Toya and Eugene, who argue every single episode, okay? Now, Toya felt like she should chime in on the conversation, and she's coming in hot. And I love the fact that Steve said, you know what? As a man, I'm not going to address you, Toya. I don't address women, I address their husbands. So I'm gonna redirect my energy back to Eugene. Oh, and I said, That's what I said, I said, oh now, if I was Steve in the moment, you know what I would have said? I would have said, Mimi, get over here. And I'm just being honest because the second Toya came over, you should have known I'm not going to address you. So let me call my wife to speak on the behalf of our household and let you know we're not to fuck with.

SPEAKER_02

And for me, for me, like Toya would have been pissed if the road were reversed, and Mimi and Steve came up to her husband and did that to Eugene. Should have been hot, she'd have walked right over there in instant and would have been popping off.

SPEAKER_00

I agree. I agree, and so I stand with Steve and Mimi in this situation. I'm like, why are you guys charging people at the door? They could have actually walked away buying one of those paintings. So if that was your strategy to get them to donate, well, you should have thought of the bigger picture there, Eugene and Toya. Um, this just goes to show that Toya is not the strongest businesswoman on the show, in my opinion.

SPEAKER_02

And she got the biggest fucking ego, and the biggest ego.

SPEAKER_00

And I also agree with what Simone told her during the episode, which is now that we're here, we're done with the planning, we're done with the asking people for money, let's just support one another, bring people together in the moment. This is for charity. Hello, this is for charity.

SPEAKER_02

And let me tell the people, let me tell the people that I text you as well in this moment. I said, now Eugene and Toya going at Steve, like, what the fuck is going on? And it was poor taste for exclamation points. Y'all, this this episode had me fired the fuck up. I didn't even sit here and lie to y'all. I was hot. I was texting myself clearly, but I but I was hot. That's I was hot. I was so mad at them.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Well, you know, the episode ended on good terms because at the end of the day, she did put together a decent event, like it didn't fall apart. It was a beautiful event, it was great. I mean, it didn't work.

SPEAKER_02

I was like, oh, live art.

SPEAKER_00

I was I was oh the art was beautiful, the art was gorgeous. I thought, and you know, the venue looked good at the end of the day, even though they got the address two days before. But at the end of the day, she did a good job.

SPEAKER_01

Did a great job.

SPEAKER_00

We will give credit where credit is due. So great job, Toya. You did that. Now, I agree with what Heavenly said when she snatched that mic from you and pulled a Kanye West Taylor Swift moment, okay?

SPEAKER_02

Um I did clutch my pros and held my. I was like, it was like Kanye West of the VMAs. You never know what Heavenly is gonna say. She did ask though. She did ask, she wasn't full, Kanye. She did ask, can she say something? And everybody was the whole cast was like, because you never know what's expected when it comes to Heavenly in that mouth. And when she they they went, then they she took the mic, you know. It kind of was it Toya kind of like kind of like scaredly, like hesitantly gave her the mic, and she clearly snatched it, which was Kanye. And she she gave Toya her flowers, and I was I I I everything was like just relaxed after that. I didn't know what she I think everybody, the crowd, the husbands, everybody, the production staff was all like, what is going on up over up in here, up in here.

SPEAKER_00

And the one thing I will give credit to Toya for is you know, I do feel like at times that maybe Jackie and Simone move like secret producers on the show. That's what Mariah said, and Mariah clocked it when she was on. Shout out to Mariah Hook. Um, I feel like Jackie put Toya in charge, like we were talking about before, to maybe teach her a lesson so that she could fail and understand what it takes to put on an event like this. Like she was looking for her to struggle through this, and Jackie's assassin. She really is, and I think she's gonna have to answer to a lot at the reunion because Toya did not take the bait, she put together a great event despite all the people that were, you know, being negative towards her. But at the same time, that was kind of her fault because she could have done a better job on the planning side. But I think this again goes back to Jackie. And why did you put Toya in charge? Is it because you genuinely thought she could do a great job, or is it because you thought she could fail and it'd make a great episode?

SPEAKER_02

So well, if it was to make a great episode, Jackie won because god damn it, when I tell y'all I was sitting up in my bed, like Clutch and Pearls, Clutch and Pearls, Texas Sherwin. It kind of was that moment when Medea found out when she was on the calculator, she found out that uh her granddaughter Helen, the very first diary met black woman. She was like, She was like going crazy. That's how I felt. I was typing so fast. Oh, I was typing so fast. Yes, I'm kind of glad you weren't awake.

SPEAKER_00

Right. Well, any other last thoughts on this med gala? I mean, I thought it ended great. They were able to come together. They gave$5,000, by the way, to each of the students, which, in my opinion, looked a little low. I mean, I would have thought it was low. It was low.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, scholarship money, any amount is always great, but certainly someone that has had scholarships given to her throughout college. Um every dollar counts.$5,000 was great. But I think if it was better planning and it was, you know, like the med gala should honestly be take to take a year to plan and not three months. Um, so I do feel like if they do put more effort into it, like hopefully they're planning for it now, um, then they could probably give, you know, if not, instead of just two, they gave a total of ten thousand dollars. So two ladies uh receive five thousand dollars each, but maybe they can give five thousand dollars to maybe to ten ladies or ten people in the medical field, may not just, you know, men too, right? But ten people, and everybody get five, you know, like fundraise plan now so we can give more to the future of these black medical, future black medical professionals. That's all I'm gonna say.

SPEAKER_00

I agree, I agree, and also while you're at it and you're planning this, come up with a better theme so that the ladies actually know how to show up and show out because they did not know what to put on and how to show up to this event.

SPEAKER_02

So or keep it basic, just do a color theme, like okay, all white, exactly all white, you pee.

SPEAKER_00

I agree, I agree, black.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know, but keep it a color theme, maybe, and not right art, live art, whatever she said it was.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I did love the art, wasn't crazy about the egos, but the aftermath of all this, look, it ended this episode with Quad teasing this breakup that she's going through with King.

SPEAKER_02

Girl, she didn't tease. She confirmed.

SPEAKER_00

She confirmed.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, yes, yes, we already knew, but you know, I did notice that they start sitting a little bit more separately on the couch, right? The body language of it all during the interviews was was the tease, right? You know, throughout the season. But when Homegirl put that lipstick on in the mirror, girl, that was the confirmation that I needed to know.

SPEAKER_00

And you know, King is not at the reunion, so I think there's a moment.

SPEAKER_02

Oh shit, he's not.

SPEAKER_00

I don't think he is. Yeah, I mean, because they filmed the reunion after the breakup, right?

SPEAKER_02

And we've already seen the trailer, seen the all the time.

SPEAKER_00

We've seen the trailer, but oh my god, I did.

SPEAKER_02

I'm just now realizing this.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and I think that quad, she never really, and and this is just my opinion, and maybe you have a different point of view on this, but I feel like she wanted a kid more than she wanted a husband or wanted a soulmate, you know what I'm saying? I feel like she has a similar story to Kenya. I feel like Kenya was also in the same boat where she had to go through a lot of different like IVF and things like that, so that she can get pregnant. And I think that these women they want a family because there's no love that's more unconditional than the love between you and your kids. And I think that's what she was craving. And she sees King that has a daughter already and the really relationship that they have, and she wants that for herself. And so I think to her point and what she said in her last confessional, quiet doesn't necessarily need a husband to have a kid, and it may not be King.

SPEAKER_02

So I never want to speak about who does and does not want to be because Greg wanted kids. He wanted kids bad. He was ready to put the ring on it and get get it poppin'. Still want a baby, and unfortunately, his current wife, you know, can't give him one, unfortunately, because of you know complications and all that, you know. Um, I think that King was a good, a damn good slap in the face to Gregory. I really do because King is fine, okay? And King got King looks good, the body is yes, abs pop in, voice.

SPEAKER_00

But let's not downplay Quad either, because Quad slays. I will say that. Well, no, no, no.

SPEAKER_02

I'm talking about in comparison to Greg.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, of course.

SPEAKER_02

I'm saying in comparison to Greg, I think that that was like, because you know, Greg came, you know, it the whole sweet tea of it all in the way Greg came back, and you know how they tried to like play in Quad's face. Like Greg got him a new girl, she young, and she got a wife, and then you know, Quad was like, and okay, now, girl, I slay, and look what I just pulled, and boom pow. And I do think that there was actually love there between the two of them. Um, but I think at the end of the day, it was ha ha, look what I could do, Greg. And and ooh, and did it, and mm. Um, but yeah, you know, Greg, if it was a if I what I'm saying is if it was a if it was truly about the baby and she wanted the baby, she would have had a baby with Greg. But again, I don't, I, I don't know. Like maybe, you know, that was a long time ago. You know, maybe, yeah, now she does. She's seen King and how he's a father, and yada yada. You know, especially what happened, unfortunately, in her family. She had some loss, some tragic loss with her brothers and stuff with her brother and stuff like that. She was raising her nephew and had her nephew and her mother in her home. So, you know, she life life for Quad in these years as well since post-divorce. Um, but I yeah, you know, there's just a thought, a thought that came to mind. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

No, and I agree. I mean, I think there was love there for sure. I mean, you can't go through this process of wanting to have a kid without having love for that person, too. So I definitely feel like there was definitely love there. I just think that King was probably fed up with all the back and forth to Ghana, and we saw it unraveled through like throughout the entire season, right? Their relationship, they look like they were getting more distant.

SPEAKER_02

I never flew to Ghana, but you know, I will one day. Um, I can only imagine 14, 15 hour-long flights it is to get to to the motherland, okay? And long ass flights.

SPEAKER_00

Not just the time, but the money. Like those flights probably aren't cheap. You gotta get a hotel, you gotta pay for the doctor.

SPEAKER_02

Like and I know IVF and all that shit is exactly.

SPEAKER_00

So I feel like King was just fed up, in my opinion.

SPEAKER_02

Financially fed up, and um, I don't care how much money you got, but I don't even know. Like, for me, we do IVF right here in America. We sure do, we sure do. We do it right here in America.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I think she had talked about how the specific doctor that was in Ghana helped somebody else in her situation that was like not able to give birth and uh was going through like different fertility problems, and um, like this doctor was able to do it with somebody else, so she was convinced that she could do it for her. So I think she just really followed that belief and put all her time, money, and everything into it. And when it didn't work out, we also saw that unfold on television, right? We saw her break down, talking about the ex didn't receive, and you know, it was an emotional journey for Quad for sure. Really vulnerable season. I mean, I see why she's first chair at the reunion because you know, she opened up a lot this season.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yes, she did, honey. I said that a couple episodes ago. Quad has definitely been very vulnerable this season. Quad has gave us everything, you know, who whoever produces Mary to Medicine should maybe should go on to producing uh Beverly Hills. Maybe it's truly is it truly original?

SPEAKER_00

I think it's truly. I think it's truly. I gotta check on that, but I know Truly does a lot of the like Potomac and Atlanta, um, and some of the other shows that are really successful on the network. So um I think Truly would be a good one to take over Beverly Hills. It is truly original. Is it truly? Okay, there you go. Truly is a great position.

SPEAKER_02

Truly, I support you should go ahead and take over Beverly Hills and yes, do it truly.

SPEAKER_00

I'm with you on that. Now, Squad is gonna obviously speak out more about this at the reunion that's coming up. And speaking of the reunion, let's talk about what's coming up on the docket, Andrika. So obviously, Married to Medicine reunion is right over the horizon. It's coming up. We saw the teaser, everybody's there. There's a sit-down with the men.

SPEAKER_02

That teaser had me on the edge of my seat. Steve and Steve and Eugene. I had to posted on my own personal Instagram because when he said you support bad behavior with Toya, I said, Oh my god, I fell out.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, she said you support bad behavior every day when you're with Toya. Yay, I was here for it, and I was also here for Brandy, clocking it, clocking Contessa, Contessa, as you like to say.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, Contessa. That's what Heavenly used to call you guys when she first joined. Heavenly used to be like, Contessa.

SPEAKER_00

That's hilarious. That's her name. Well, I'm here for it. I'm here for the Mary to Medicine reunion. I'm looking forward to it. Also, more dry Beverly Hills coming up. Excuse me, but go ahead and get your food ready and find something to do because it might just be background noise, okay? Um, but let's see how this Italy trip unfolds. It's supposed to be a lot of drama happening this next episode. So we'll see what happens with the Amanda Francis and Dorite of it all this next week. And then you know what else I've been catching up on, Andrica? I've been delayed, I've been really behind, but I'm starting to catch up on Below Deck Under. So finally! I know, I know. I'm I'm about four or five episodes in. I think there's like eight or nine that I need to catch up on. So um more to be continued on Below Deck Under because I'm here for the Captain Jason and the Daisy of it all. And I honestly re-watched it from the beginning and I rewatched the Salt Lake City episode. Okay, okay. And I didn't realize how much shit was going on behind the scenes until I saw that. It was going down.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, it was going down.

SPEAKER_00

And the way the chef talks to the Sioux chef, I just want to say is completely uncalled for. So moving on. What are you watching, Andrico? What is coming up on your docket?

SPEAKER_02

Well, for me, of course, I am watching Southern Hospitality. Um, I am watching the Southern Charm reunion is going to be happening as well. We got that reunion wrapping that show up, probably wrapping up Craig as well. Summer House, of course. Summerhouse is Summer House. I missed it yesterday, but it's in my queue on Peacock. Um, I've been I've been have to move fast, but I heard KJ, Sierra, and Mia, who are the only three black cast members on this season, are having um some uncomfortable conversations, uncomfortable for the others, not for them, but about being black in America and how it feels to be black, you know, on this platform on Bravo TV, especially especially with uh, you know, being KJ talking about how he's the how he's the first black guy um on Summer House, which is you know big time, you know, um for for Summerhouse. Um he's you know very protective Sierra. Sierra's being much, much, much more vulnerable about the West situation of it all, and how she's getting, you know, from people, okay, her people, our people, me and her people, um, saying, you know, you let a white guy play you on national TV. So that people don't understand how deep and she can't help who she loves, whether it be, you know, a white guy or a black guy or Indian guy or a Persian guy. She can't help it, but what she don't need is her people. You know, it would, it would, I hear it's gonna be a lot. So I'm definitely gonna watch it. I think I'm also gonna make my son watch it with me. Um, I think it'll be good for him to see some things so he can think that I'm not crazy and I be having these conversations with him about you know being black in America, especially a black man. Um, and then also me and my son also watch Cross on Prime Video, my man Aldus Hodge. Hey Aldus, um you know, we're watching that as well. So I am gonna be busy as well, like you, watching these shows.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, the docket is full.

SPEAKER_02
