This is our most honest conversation yet.
What happens when you stop pretending everything is okay?
In this episode of Pour Decisions with Erin & David Crumbley, we open up about depression, the challenges every marriage faces behind closed doors, and the conversations most couples never have. We talk about what keeps our relationship strong, how life's hardest moments have changed our perspective, and why facing the reality that life isn't guaranteed has taught us to love deeper, forgive faster, and be grateful for every single day.
And because this is Pour Decisions, there's one more twist...
Erin spends the episode with a live snake wrapped around her neck, proving that sometimes the biggest risks aren't the ones you'd expect.
This episode is emotional, funny, vulnerable, and completely unscripted. If you've ever struggled, loved deeply, or wondered how other couples make it through the hard seasons, pull up a chair and join us.
Pour yourself a glass of wine and let's have a real conversation.

You're looking for line with Aaron and David. Let's begin.
SPEAKER_02I'm not sure you're all right.
SPEAKER_03All right. So I have a brush on snake. I get wine. Um welcome to poor decisions. Hold on. One, two, three. I snaked down my back right now. Hey, welcome to poor decisions. I'm Aaron Crumbly.
SPEAKER_02I'm David Crumbly.
SPEAKER_03And this is Noodle Crumbly.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03This is our son Snake.
SPEAKER_02And Noodle is about to strangle Aaron.
SPEAKER_03It's okay.
SPEAKER_02We do have a life insurance policy, so it's okay.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, Noodle is uh a seven-year-old ball python that we've had. Sorry to put my vape away. We've had her for about seven years, and DJ's about to go off to college, and he doesn't want noodle anymore, so we've got to find her a home. So, but she's very sweet, and she's trying to like leave. She's like, I'm out of here.
SPEAKER_02She's like, I've never been on a podcast.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, well, she's like, I'm out of this 40-gallon tank, which she should have a hundred-gallon tank. But I mean, we got her when she was very tiny. Now she's very big.
SPEAKER_02But we don't abuse animals at our house.
SPEAKER_03No, we don't. We don't.
SPEAKER_02So we I mean, I can't. I'm on the board of director.
SPEAKER_03I'm a board director on the Animal Coast Wildlife Recu. I don't abuse animals.
SPEAKER_02We don't abuse animals.
SPEAKER_03That'd be a really good, you know, and be really bad.
SPEAKER_02I want to move this light back. Somehow I got moved a little closer when the dog had an attack.
SPEAKER_03So this is Noodle. She's uh I think they're six or seven years old, Paul Python. We got her when she was like that big. And don't uh DJ was really small. And uh he's going off to college in a year. He's a senior this year. We're getting ready for school.
SPEAKER_02Maybe not.
SPEAKER_03Don't know. These kids nowadays, we don't know if they're gonna be.
SPEAKER_02I mean, don't make your plans too far.
SPEAKER_03He wants to be a gamer, be stitch, stitch gamer, better and make lots of money on YouTube. We'll see how that goes because everybody wants to do that. Everybody wants to do that. Everybody wants to be a big rock star.
SPEAKER_02Everybody wants to get paid for doing exactly what they like to do.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Wouldn't that be cool?
SPEAKER_03So anybody anybody looking for a snake, uh, noodle is for sale. Well, not really for sale, she's free. Uh, but she needs a bigger tank. And uh, but she is a great snake. Like, she's not totally strangling me right now. But if I start turning red and choking, then yeah, we need to talk about that. Yeah. David's like, life insurance, life insurance, life insurance. Yeah, snake, strangling her mom. Actually, there's and I'm not like, hey, it's live, too. Well, it's not live, it's not like a live feed. But like a live feed. Cutting not like, yeah, yeah, that's we're not like Perez Hilton that was cutting himself live feed. Like, we're no, not yet.
SPEAKER_02Not yet. I mean, we're gonna get to that point eventually.
SPEAKER_03No, I'm just saying we're not live, so if a snake starts strangling me, your buddy would be watching it like and not calling 911. Like he didn't, like they were all watching it, and then all of a sudden they're like, This is probably not fake. And we shouldn't be able to do that.
SPEAKER_02Well, thank God somebody called 911. Yeah, yeah. So that's what anyways.
SPEAKER_03Anywho, so I'm Aaron Crumley, David Crumble, for decisions, four decisions, and and noodle. And noodle. Um, and pretty soon noodle has to go away. But yeah, but I think it looks really funny. That's kind of cool.
SPEAKER_02So today we're just matches your outfit, yeah, with the black on black.
SPEAKER_03It's wine, yeah, the wine thing. What does it say? You can read that with your battery.
SPEAKER_02A noun, liquid that makes you awesome, often the cause of or solution to children, creates a sense of euphoria and makes men appear more comical than and attractive. And thank God for wine then.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, because that's how I met you. I thought you were more attractive than you were, and more comical. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I couldn't be much more comical, be honest.
SPEAKER_03And after eight months of like a total drunkenness of wine, we got married, and I woke up and I go, Whoa! Like, what the hell? He's ugly and he's not funny at all.
SPEAKER_02She she's only been drunk once in her life, seriously. Um, but it's lasted for now, what, 20 years, 21 years? Yeah.
SPEAKER_03That's how you that's how you keep me happy. You just drink it.
SPEAKER_02That is a joke.
SPEAKER_03Uh all right, so as everybody knows, we start off with a bottle of wine and then.
SPEAKER_02And usually not a snake.
SPEAKER_03And not a snake.
SPEAKER_02But we are doing it today.
SPEAKER_03She is getting a little tight in here. Um, I mean, they usually are used to the cats and the dogs. But now we have a snake. We actually have a zoo.
SPEAKER_02She's gonna put her tail like right through your esophagus. Look, it's pointed right at your esophagus. She's the deadly alien snake sent here to take over the world.
SPEAKER_03We're probably lost a view because nobody likes nobody likes snakes. She actually is a really cool snake. Yeah, um, so David doesn't know what I got tonight. So, and and that okay, so David knows this is wine. David knows it's wine, so we have to talk about it because we sold it a lot at our wine bar where we had it.
SPEAKER_02Oh wow. Well you know noir. It is they still sell it today.
SPEAKER_03It's like, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, this one is uh yeah, it's phenomenal. It's got a little velvet uh label label on it, which is really nice, but it's very smooth. Um the people that were drinking the Miami were the first ones to say, you know what, this one is just better quality, which it is, and it was less price. Uh, but it's uh oh, it's a beautiful wine. French wine, it's absolutely beautiful.
SPEAKER_03Are you gonna tell us a little bit about it, or you just say, hey, people didn't like Miami or like Miami like this one? You know a little bit background on that. I know that they still sell this at the Vine with the new owners, that that's like their number one selling and not Bonanza, which is my favorite.
SPEAKER_02I haven't really kept up with all the uh wine connoisseur language, uh, even though I probably should have. But um, it's a French uh wine, it's a Pinot Noir, um, and it's uh it's from an area of France that gets real dry, so the grapes really have to struggle uh during the summer months, and which it makes it just more aggressive, more tasty, if you want to say. Uh, but it just it just makes the wine better. Um has a much better flavor. But anyway, that's all I know about it. But it's absolutely gorgeous wine.
SPEAKER_03And it's a great label. I mean, it's uh it was like a $13, $14 bottle. Uh I don't know how much it was it cost when we bought it. I don't know how we sold it a lot more when we owned the wine bar versus where I bought it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but but yeah, the in the cool thing about having the wine bar is like at the end of the week on uh Saturday night, we were closed Sunday and Monday, uh, you'd have some bottles that had a little bit here, a little bit there left over, and you're not gonna save those until the next week, you know, just because they just don't taste the same once you store them. I mean you could you could put them in the refrigerator. I mean, we would with some of the bottles that we just opened. But if you had a half a bottle or less, our our policy was that you know, whoever yeah, whoever's working that Saturday night uh got dibs on the bottles, and we gave them out. But I'd bring home sometimes two or three like half half drunk bottles of that.
SPEAKER_03A lot of them. Yeah, it was yeah, it was very good. I got to taste them, yeah. Um, but this is a really good wine. So if anybody's looking for a very good wine that's soft and velvety, which is there's a velvet label on it. Velvet label, and it's a $13 bottle at um the fusion that I got that's at the fusion.
SPEAKER_02I'm surprised they had it there, but that's uh it's a really nice wine.
SPEAKER_03I was looking for an Austin Hope, or yeah. Or um, oh, here comes the dog.
SPEAKER_02You can hear the dog's nails on the zoo.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, go lay down. Yeah, it's a zoo here. We have a zoo.
SPEAKER_02Yes, yes, it is.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, anyways, noodles going down my back. Anyway, so here.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, cheers.
SPEAKER_03Cheers.
unknownCheers.
SPEAKER_03Welcome to poor decisions. Welcome.
SPEAKER_02So smooth.
SPEAKER_03Smooth like velvet. Velvety, it's a very good wine. And if you like this wine, you can go down to the Vine Wine Bar Bistone shop, which we no longer own, but the Hansleys do. And they and that they do awesome. They they do have this wine, and it's um it's unique. So I I would like to tell all you guys should go down and try it.
SPEAKER_02So yeah.
SPEAKER_03Anyway, she's getting a little tired now.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna turn red. Um, a little bit, yeah. She's trying to get down the chair and away from you.
SPEAKER_03All right.
SPEAKER_02And us. You want to take her and put her away?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, my team. So I'll let you take the show in here. Let me know.
SPEAKER_02This is a lot of pressure, but I have a stand-up routine radio, y'all. Oh, you're gonna be aware of it. So uh so there's two guys that walked into a bar. I'm just kidding. I mean, there were, but I'm just kidding. Here, um, I could probably have stupid jokes, but I don't want to right now.
SPEAKER_03I know. Well, you're taking her.
SPEAKER_02It's been a weird week.
SPEAKER_03Because we're doing a live show right now.
SPEAKER_02Weird week.
SPEAKER_03And I put her on yeah.
SPEAKER_02Got back from vacation. So you got her, which was fun. And then uh I turned around to go back because my father passed away. So I'm just telling my life story.
SPEAKER_03What what hold on for a second? Like, I just left for like literally 10 seconds, and you're it sounded like you were starting off with a joke, and then I turn the corner and you're like, and then your dad passed away.
SPEAKER_02And I was like, I'm gonna cut that part out. That was stupid anyway. I was trying to think of something to do. You know, I was just starting to tell my story about what happened last week. It's all right.
SPEAKER_03So you're gonna turn, are you really gonna turn that off, or you're gonna leave it on and just like show the raw emotion and the anti-comical well I take the snake? That's just kind of weird.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, not weird. Why?
SPEAKER_03I don't know. Just ask me.
SPEAKER_02He said you take the show.
SPEAKER_03I know, and then it was like it sounded like you were starting off with a joke. I dropped the snake off, I came around the corner, and then he said it my dad died, and I was like, Well, this isn't really a funny portion of the No, this wasn't really a joke.
SPEAKER_02I I said I didn't want to tell jokes. Um, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I I was trying to think of a couple jokes, and I was like, yeah, I don't really want to tell a joke.
SPEAKER_03Well, you've been a little um you've been a little sad, you've been a little depressed lately. I can tell you're a little depressed. I mean, I don't know. I mean, if anybody that has been watching our show, like which all two of you have you lost a parent or a loved one, a child. I mean, I've I've I've had a few I've had a free few friends lose children recently. But a parent, I mean, that's really sad. Um apparent, at least you are like waiting for them to die. Like you know that they're gonna go there, but when you lose a child at a young age, you're like, I never expected that to happen. That's uh like a a crazy moment. Um But yeah, I I I've been like w we've been talking about David's dad being sick throughout this last 13 episodes, and he passed away what a week and a half ago. And um yeah, it's been very like you go through the emotions, you know they're gonna die, you know that they're older and he wanted to go, he was ready to go, but once he goes, like I think that's what's going through. You're you're like like you're never gonna see him again. Like it's a thing where you know he's ready to go, he was ready to be with Jesus.
SPEAKER_02But you know, you can I don't think it's just that though. It's like I mean, I I grieved for my dad and I cried before he died. I I went and visited him every day um that we were up there, you know, for a week, you know, before he passed. And um it was just every time I went, I cried, and you know, when I got home, I cried and we went to the funeral, I cried. You know, I there's you know, there's a point where you know the grieving process is is finished and you move on. And uh and I feel I did, but there's uh you know, the it's I need a paradigm shift. I think that's what I need. Like, you know, some people struggle with a you know, they say, you know, I'm depressed and you know, whatever. There's there's a reason for that depression. There has to be, right? There has to be. In your mind somewhere, I'm sorry, I got something caught in my throat.
SPEAKER_03Drink some wine, that'll be a little bit.
SPEAKER_02But there's uh there has to be a reason. There has to be a reason. It only makes logical sense. I don't know what doctors say, but in my mind it there just has to be a reason. So and you know, I started digging into it, and uh, you know, it's taken me a few days, but um, it's like yeah, the sadness from that event, right? I mean, it's just sad.
SPEAKER_03No, the taps was sad. There was a there was a flag on his coffin. We had the whole the taps players, the navy was there. That was very small ceremony, yeah. Very small and that's what is like you wrap it around, you're like, okay, but then you walk away from there, you have a celebration of life.
SPEAKER_02But but it changes your it changes your whole perspective on life for a moment. It really does. And hopefully for more than a moment, but for a moment there you you see the finality of life. You you see, I mean, all the great things all the great things my dad did in his lifetime, all the people that he touched. It's gone. You know. So you start I'm not grieving for dad anymore, I don't think, even though I probably will for the rest of my life. But uh it's more like an introspect like where it's like Where am I in this journey?
SPEAKER_03No, it's alright. You can you can agree. I mean, this is part of having the show.
SPEAKER_02It's more of a reflection. I'm I'm looking in the mirror now. It's like at my dad's real, I'm looking at dad.
SPEAKER_03And I'm I'm thinking memories, and and but now are you looking that it's over and I look at my life right now, it's like are you are you comparing yourself to like where he was at this or why or is it a reflection of like I am now 62 years old, about to be 63, and I only have so much time left, and what am I gonna do with this time? Am I going to visit the grandchildren? Like, you know, I'm like it it does, and I have to agree with you. Like, you hit a certain age and you're like, okay, we we have the house, we've got we've got the accolades, we had the careers, we had this. We've got one more child in the house, and he's about to graduate next year. But now what do we do with our life? Do we do we keep the house in the water and all these things, or do we downsize and go spend time with kids and grandkids? Because on this side of life, you've achieved everything here. Now you're like, I just want to go spend time with my kids and grandkids. I want more time with them, and I want to make a difference. And that's what I think like makes a difference in their lives. And he you're 62, and he was 98 and a half when he died, so he had a lot of time. Um, but I do agree with you. You had a certain time, and you go, okay.
SPEAKER_02It's just it's one of those, it's one of those things that you know, like you know from an early age you're gonna die. You know it, right? Like you know it as knowledge in your mind somewhere, you know that you're gonna die. But at some point in your life, you understand it, which is different than just knowing it.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_02You understand, and you like you look around and you're like, wow, like I've known this all my life, but I finally understand it now, and that's what makes it real. That's what takes it deep into your heart, and I guess that's where I've been the last few days. It's not a not necessarily a sad thing. I don't I don't reflective though, reflected on your life, it's very reflective, and it's it's it's almost like um a little added pressure because I know that I don't have that much time, and and uh so I you know I don't know that I'll take it. It's it's one of those you gotta move on, you can't you don't know how much time you have.
SPEAKER_03Only God does.
SPEAKER_02But even if I had another 30 years, 40 years, it's still a very short time, right?
SPEAKER_03Because it goes by so fast.
SPEAKER_02It goes by so fast, it doesn't matter how much time you have left, it goes by so fast that you you have to enjoy every moment that you absolutely possibly can. And you know that too. People tell you that your whole life, you know, you know that. But at some point in your life, it just hits you like a baseball bat in your face, and you're like, Oh, I understand it now. I completely understand it, and I think that's the revelation I'm coming to is like a um yeah, what do they call it? Um I don't want it sounds stupid.
SPEAKER_03You don't sound stupid, it's our podcast, so who gives a shit if you sound stupid, anyways? This is our podcast, and if you sound stupid, Epiphany. Epiphany, it is Epiphany, aha moment, an aha moment.
SPEAKER_02So thank you. That didn't sound stupid. I had to think about it for a second.
SPEAKER_03No, I get it.
SPEAKER_02I don't use that word very much.
SPEAKER_03Because I think that in our I always tell you, like, I feel I my body's getting slower, and I get backaches, and sometimes it's hard to get out of bed, and I mean my neck, I can't turn it like I used to. You know, there's things, but inside of me, I feel still like that 18-year-old. I mean, maybe I want to say, like, maybe what when I was a dolphin cheerleader, 28, I was in the best shit shape of my life. I felt like 28 was a really good year for me. Not the fact that I was on the chilling squad, but um I was working in television, I was a PR person, I was making good money, I was dolphin chill, and I felt really healthy, and I had six pack. And it was 28. 28 was a good good age, maybe 27, it's 27, 28. But um, but inside of me, I still feel like that person. Like I can still drink like a rock star, I can still party like a rock star, I can still do those things, but my body's like, nope. I need to go to bed at 10, I need to sleep until 10, like like 12 hours. It's um, and I'm like, what is going on? I really want to like continue this, like, because I've been such a rock star, and now my body at 56, it's 57 in a couple months, is like, nope, nope. Um, I'm tired. And literally, when I get out of bed, I'm like, I think we need to get a new mattress. This mattress really freaking sucks. Like, I mean, I don't know. Like, maybe when you get the little mattress that blows up air and pulls me up.
SPEAKER_02But you know, you keep pushing it, and that's the good thing, is you keep working out and you're pushing your body. I mean, you have to, even though you have the aches and pains that you didn't normally have, it's like uh it you're still telling your body that hey, we're gonna continue to do this, and it'll continue to adapt, you know. But you do. I mean, you work out. I'm very impressed.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, you work me out every day. Somebody asked me that, and we're just gonna be, we're just coming right out. Somebody asked me the other day what makes your like we we want a relationship like you.
SPEAKER_01We're talking some couple.
SPEAKER_03We were talking a couple, and they said, like, I really like your relationship. Like, what keeps you like the way you are to like you as a couple? What is your secret? What is your secret sauce? Because I really love the fact that you guys are still in love with each other 20 years later. Is your secret sauce? And what is our secret sauce?
SPEAKER_02I mean, I've got two things, and I think you have a third one to add, but um why mine would be um never change don't try to change somebody, right? Don't try to change anybody, right? You knew me when the moment I met you, and that's the thing is exactly, she has changed, but it's not because I wanted her to change, she's changed because she's felt in her heart at some point that I need to change and I need to change this behavior, do this, or do that. So she's changed over time, but it's because she wants to, not because I put pressure on her or made her do it or asked her to do it. She I could never make her do it. But anyway, and also the second thing in my heart, in my personal opinion, sorry, I hit my is you you you don't criticize them, you you build each other up. You build them up, always build them up. I especially in public, that is huge. When I hear her talking to her friends, and all of a sudden I hear my name, I'm listening, and she says something positive about me. I don't care what it is. Like I take out the garbage every night. Can you believe that? And they're like, oh my god, really? No.
SPEAKER_03My husband doesn't take out the garbage, he never does the dishes, he never pulls the clothes. But it it's uh He never puts the toilet seat down. My husband does.
SPEAKER_02It helps to build the the self-esteem of the whole couple, not just my personal self-esteem, but our self-esteem. It helps me to it realize that she really appreciates these things, and I do the same to her. You know, I I talk, I always talk very powerfully.
SPEAKER_03I'd never tear you down.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, would never tear her down. Even if we're in an argument or having a bad day or whatever, I would never say anything negative to anyone.
SPEAKER_03Uh he just says it to his pillow or in the shower.
SPEAKER_01That's he does talk to himself a lot. I'll go in the garage and I'll talk out and I'll talk to myself.
SPEAKER_03He's like, fuck you, fuck you, fuck you, like I can hear you in here.
SPEAKER_02But yeah, and then I come back in and I'm just fine.
SPEAKER_04It's like when I was in retail to my face.
SPEAKER_02Uh when I was in retail, if you got a nasty ass customer and they were being ugly, and you had to deal with them for 20, 30 minutes, and when they left the store, like you're boiling, and you just wanted to punch them in the face, but you couldn't. I'd walk in the office, I'd shut that door, and I'd just scream at the top of my lungs. You fucking bitch, I could have fucking punched you in the face at any time. You would never survive. I could step on your lids and fucking put your eyes out. Fucking bitch.
SPEAKER_03Wow, damn, man. That's gonna be a 2020 big line edition soon.
SPEAKER_02And then I'd walk out and everything would be fine. And I'd give her $10 back.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_01It's gonna be the most controversial episode ever.
SPEAKER_03Hey, has anybody else ever felt that way? I mean, those of you watching or listening on uh you've ever worked in the retail, you felt that way. Have you ever felt that way? Because I would love to see the comments.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I know you have you have this smile and then go into another room or into your pillow if you're in a relationship and scream as much as you want, get it all out, and then come back, go, hey.
SPEAKER_02Here, here's your ten dollar refund. Thanks. Sweetie, I love you. You're awesome. Thanks for choosing my company. I hope you choose us again.
SPEAKER_03Well, how do we like from like a relationship though? Like I'm like, I love you. And then go in the shower. I'm like, what an asshole. What an asshole! No, I never say that. I don't. I never say that. No. I mean, there have probably been a few times I've had to say that to myself under my breath.
SPEAKER_02I think it's healthy. I don't think there's anything wrong with that.
SPEAKER_03I mean, I'm pretty sure that we have the kind of relationship, guys, that if we are just pleased with each other, we just say to each other's face. He's like, You're a bitch, and I'm like, you're dick. And little love, then we would work it out.
SPEAKER_02We usually get a little more detailed than we I hear it.
SPEAKER_03And you walk into the bathroom and shut the door, and you're like, fuck you, fuck you, fuck you. And I was like, I can hear you over here. I can hear you. I've got the glass for the door.
SPEAKER_02You make me sound horrible. No, no.
SPEAKER_03No, he's not.
SPEAKER_02I do talk to myself, which is a bad habit.
SPEAKER_03So I'm gonna like bring it back around. How do we stay so connected?
SPEAKER_02Okay, well, I gave you my two.
SPEAKER_03Your two. Do you know my mind what I'm gonna say? No, you're gonna tell me because Yes, you know what I'm gonna say. We have sex every day. You wanna stay connected to your your man or your your woman? You have to have sex every day.
SPEAKER_02Wow, we are gonna be controversial. We're breaking the boundaries here.
SPEAKER_03No, we're just being honest.
SPEAKER_02That's true.
SPEAKER_03I feel like pretty much every day.
SPEAKER_02Almost.
SPEAKER_03Almost every day. If not, we're a couple times, twice a day. Or sometimes we skip a day, but we like make up.
SPEAKER_02We try to make it up.
SPEAKER_03I think when you're married, it's special bond. And um and that having sex or sexual relations or whatever you want to make call it, being intimate, kissing for long hours or whatever you want to do. Um, I think it's very important because I feel like it keeps you connected. And when you don't have sex at all, and you're not talking to each other, and you're not having that intimate moment with each other, it it makes it like you're just not connected. Connectivity is a thing, like talking to each other is great, and snuggling on the couch and watching a movie, but the intimacy like that is very important, and that's something that we've seem to like do. And I mean, our friends know it, so we might as well tell everybody out on like so we might as well. Oh, yeah, I forgot to tell you the OnlyFans, like our OnlyFans account. You gotta go there till you see it. I'm kidding, we don't have it on OnlyFans. We talked about it though. She talked about it. I talked about like, you know, we gotta make some money somehow. Because real estate sucks. Anyways, but I feel like the the intimacy, like when we go to bed at night, he holds my hand. Like we we literally spoon, but then I get hot and sweaty, and then I turn and we hold our hands. But I mean, the intimacy, the the the the connection.
SPEAKER_02I I personally like affection. I uh that's one of the things that makes me uh feel secure sometimes in the relationship is the affection, the physical affection. So uh we hold hands all the time. Um she's rubbing my back or you know uh popping your pimples, yeah. Yeah, she does that too. He pops mine. I mean, let's be honest. I can't reach him, so yeah. Um I have no problem. I mean, you know, but no, I think the physical affection, I think, is definitely uh brings a uh a certain uh aspect to that relationship. It's just more intimate, you know. Even if it's just holding hands or holding each other or cuddling or something. Was that what you're gonna say when I like what I was gonna say to the audience, or did you have a different um physical affection instead of we have sex every day, but that's okay. We we have physical affection. Because you can word it to make it sound like oh these guys probably have sex every day. We consummate our relationship over and over and over again. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We yeah, we have intimacy naked.
SPEAKER_03For all the family members that are watching, he's trying to be like, yeah, oh please Tommy, Jerry, Jenny. No way, yeah. Anyways, but I do think honestly, for me, um, that's a very important thing. Um, especially I have pellets. So I hit menopause. I don't know if like lots of people talk about this thing, but I I hit menopause, I guess I'm 50, gonna be 57 in a couple of months, but I hit menopause probably about 46, 47, where I was tired all the time. I was really grumpy. Um, and I and I had got I gotten an ablation, uh, so I couldn't have a period anymore, which is you know probably more than people need to know, but I but you know, because it was really bad for me and I would be really grumpy during my period.
SPEAKER_02She had rough ones, yeah. Big time.
SPEAKER_03So um I went on pellets, so I got pellets and they, you know, insert them, um, testosterone and estrogen into um like they cut open a little place on your butt and they sew it up, and you take a progesterone at night, but that changed like like it was night and day. All of a sudden, I could not have I didn't have a mental fog, I wasn't angry, um, I wasn't nitpicking David to death, and the testosterone hit, and the testosterone hit, and then I was like, okay, every day, twice a day, three times a day. It was like I was back to 16 again. It was weird. Like I was like, I went from like well, okay.
SPEAKER_02Say 18 at least.
SPEAKER_0328. Yes, I said I've my my my my soul feels like I'm 28. Um, but I it was that that like um because you know, as you get older, you get tired and achy, whatever, and and then your libido goes, and um, but when it goes, hmm, you're like, okay, like game on, and I feel like that's been a game changer. Yeah. Um, because uh the testosterone hits, and I'm like, I have got to like I'm like a little kid again, which is awesome for those guys that want to like bring their sex life back and they're like miserable in their marriage. No, just wait, get testosterone for a man and get like estrogen and testosterone for a woman and take your progesterone, and uh it's a game changer.
SPEAKER_02And uh, we will write you a prescription for just $450, just mail it to David and Aaron Crumbly at P.O. Box 6969.
SPEAKER_03Dr. Barber is like fixing my life, you know. Thank you. Thank you, buddy. So um, yeah, it's uh it's been a game changer.
SPEAKER_02By the way, if that P.O.
SPEAKER_03box gets some checks in the mail, but that intimacy, I think, is a very important thing um for a very healthy relationship. Um what else?
SPEAKER_02So I gave two. That's one for you.
SPEAKER_03Oh, so I have to give something else.
SPEAKER_02You do, you must, you must include it.
SPEAKER_03Communication.
SPEAKER_02What? What'd you say? What'd she say? I can't understand what she says sometimes.
SPEAKER_03Well, you know, you yours is acts of affection, and mine actually is acts of service. So when I get up in the morning and you're doing the dishes, because I hate going to bed. Uh, we've talked about this before in our podcast, but I dishes are a big deal. I'm OCD, I'm very OCD. Everything in my house has to be in the same place every night before I go to bed. It's just a thing. My mom gave that to me. So at night, if there's dishes in the sink, it drives me nuts to go to bed. I don't know how many of you guys feel that way, but like I go to bed and there's dishes in the sink. I have to stay up and clean the dishes and put them in the dishwasher before I go to bed. Because it drives me nuts. So, um, and you know, I would get mad because um David. No, he likes to go to bed a little early and um sometimes. Um, but he's learned to get up before me and do the dishes, get the coffee going. Like he brings me coffee in bed. Like he's learned another thing, yeah.
SPEAKER_02I know sandwiches, I make her uh protein.
SPEAKER_03Well, he gets up in the morning and gets a shower on, does this, this, and this, and he goes and does the dishes and gets coffee on and whatever. And by the time I'm pulling out of the bed at like 9:30, 10 o'clock, it's all done. She gets up earlier than that. Uh that's being honest. Yeah. But it's everything's clean. So when our kids come over and party and leave us all the popcorn, which they do often. Our friends, our kids love the car. Oh, shots and stickiness and stuff.
SPEAKER_02Stickiness all over the counter. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03They are, yeah, they're messy when they our kids like to come over and hang out with us.
SPEAKER_02We're like little parties. Yeah. We saw them today for a minute. That was good.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah. We played some darts with them. But yeah, he I think uh the acts of service for me is something very important, but also communication. Like when we fight, or when he shuts down on me, it drives me nuts. I'm it does. But he's a man and I'm a woman. Have you read the women are from Venus and Men Are from Mars? Whatever. I mean, he goes in his cage, he doesn't want to talk. He's like, I don't, mm-mm. And I'm like, I need to I need to pick and pick and pick and pick. I need you to tell me.
SPEAKER_02She thinks through things a lot quicker than me. And as a guy, well, I don't know if all guys are like this, but I have to go and separate myself from it so I can sort out really what the issue is. I have to sort it out. And you like you already know from the second it happens. I'm a woman. What did I do this time?
SPEAKER_03Well, it's not like leaving the toilet, so that's what I do. Like I told you guys, the toilet lid is always down. Like since I the day I met him, to do that. 21 years later, the toilet lid is down, and my boys all leave the toilet seat down too, which is a great thing because I hate going to somebody's house and the toilet seat's up. Yeah, it's just a peppy man, too. Well, it's my OCD thing.
SPEAKER_02Well, I had a bunch of bunch of females in the house when I was first married and having kids, so it was like, yeah, it happened like once or twice, and then I was like, okay, I'll just put it down.
SPEAKER_03But women want like I don't know how many women like men just retreat into like a cave or a cage or a bedroom or in the bathroom. I'm the shitter and pretend they're on the phone, they gotta get away. And and I need to get it out. I'm like, David, let's just get this out, let's talk about it.
SPEAKER_02Well, in my view, if you get it out while you're still very emotional, which women get a lot more emotional than guys do most of the time. Um, if you get it out when you're very, very emotional, you're probably gonna say something you regret. You know? So if you step away from it and let it settle down for a minute and you sort things out in your own brain, then you can go back and say, Well, you know what? I was absolutely wrong. I should not have done that. But sometimes you get attacked and you are all always just always gonna be defensive, right? And you don't even have time to sort it out and figure out if you did something wrong or not. I mean, that's in my own mind. That's kind of why I do it. So if I ever do that, I'm gonna leave right now because I can see her in her face.
SPEAKER_03I'm so angry right now. So yeah, I mean, it was just somebody asked me the other day. Um, they they watch us and they see our posts on communication, okay. Communication is key. No, but I mean we've got we've we've come a long way on that. Pretty good, yeah. No, yeah. Yeah.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03And when you go to bed, when you go to bed and you boy me, I jump on you and go, let's have a conversation right now. Mama wants a conversation. And he's like, No, I'm going to the bathroom and shutting the door and watch my I'm just kidding, you guys. I don't I realize he needs to go in his cage. Well, actually, his cave.
SPEAKER_02In my cage. She's gonna put me back in the cage.
SPEAKER_03I said cage a couple of times. I meant the cave, but yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. So um I was wondering about that.
SPEAKER_03But anyways, that's uh that's uh for the person that asked me about our relationship, knows that you got it now.
SPEAKER_02So I think communication would be my third one, so that's it. So that's three for me.
SPEAKER_03I mean, sex is number one for me, and sex is number two for me, and sex is number one.
SPEAKER_02Well, communication can be more than just verbal, it can be physical as well. So you could wrap that under the communication umbrella. So when we go out and start doing our tours and do our motivational speakings.
SPEAKER_03Uh Joe Rogan, we're still going for you. Yeah, Joe.
SPEAKER_02Give me a call, man. I mean, why don't you call?
SPEAKER_03I mean, I'm now trying to hit up Mel Robbins. I mean, come on, Mel.
SPEAKER_01Anybody.
SPEAKER_03Make my Mel.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I mean, we sound alike when I have my glasses on, we look alike. Yeah, except Mel's not drinking during her podcast.
SPEAKER_02Well, as she well, she probably shouldn't, but maybe you'll tell her to break her habit.
SPEAKER_03Loosen up. She says she drinks, but you know, maybe she drinks under the table. We don't see it. Hey Mel. Hey Mel. Anyways. So yeah, um, I guess I don't know how many uh how long we've been on, but uh um 35 minutes. Okay, well, now they've got your grief, your dad dying.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I mean a lot of really personal stuff uh today. Uh we're being very open and honest. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Are we gonna talk about we've had a rough couple of weeks.
SPEAKER_02We just as a as a family, we've had a rough couple weeks. So it's it's been weird and everything, but you know, God is good and he blesses us every day. And I I think that's the key to it. She told me this morning. Um we were laying in bed just talking. And I said, Yeah, I'm I'm I'm struggling with a little depression, you know. I I know what depression feels like. I don't normally get depressed, but and um yeah, and I told her, I was like, you know, I'm working through it, and she says, you know, you just gotta be thankful. And uh I think that's the key is uh to be if you're thankful for more things than are bothering you, you know what I'm saying? Like I could name ten things right now that are going bad in in my life or in people's lives that I've love dearly. You know what I'm saying? I could I could talk about my physical issues, I could talk, you know, and I could just go down the line and complain, complain, complain, complain, complain. But you know, understanding that's not gonna change anything ever. But if you're thankful for everything, you're thankful for another day on this planet, you're thankful for a gorgeous wife, you're thankful for great kids that have turned out to be wonderful human beings, you're thankful that you have a place to live, and you're thankful that you have to have food in the fridge around it. Yeah, thankful that you have food you can walk and hate it. That's that and I told her this morning, I was laying in bed, and she was like, you know, it's all good, it's all good. I was like, I know it's all good. I know it's all good. I just need like a paradigm shift. I just need, you know, the the whole, you know, the the funeral and all that. I think all that was just really heavy on my mind, and it shifted my brain for a split second in a good way. But it was it it made me realize some things, you know, and and now all I have to do is just shift it a little bit more. It'll get in line with what we need to do, you know, going forward. So I guess I did just burp, sorry.
SPEAKER_03You always burp me on these pipelines.
SPEAKER_02But yeah, um, anyway, I don't want to get too deep, and I'm not a psychologist or a psychiatrist or a psychopath. But I play one on TV. But I do play one on TV, I will today. Hey, for 50 bucks, send me your link and I'll give you my Venmo. Send me 50 bucks and I will analyze you and tell you what's wrong with it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, Perez Hilton, you should have called David. He got you.
SPEAKER_02You know cutting yourself.
SPEAKER_03Subcutt yourself, David would have talked you out of that. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Well, I would have told you what's wrong with it. I can't fix you, but I'll tell you what's wrong. I'll analyze you.
SPEAKER_03I'm not making fun of that. That was really sad. That was that was really sad.
SPEAKER_02I haven't seen it.
SPEAKER_03He doesn't know him, he didn't see it, I saw it, and I was like very, very strange. And yeah, and if you haven't seen it, just Google Preds Hilton.
SPEAKER_02If you haven't seen it, don't watch it. How about that?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, there you go.
SPEAKER_02Why would you watch that crap?
SPEAKER_03Well, because I threw it out in the universe, and now everybody's gonna be like Fred Hilton.
SPEAKER_02Just stop watching crap like that. Yeah, that's weird.
SPEAKER_03Well, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Like, why would you watch it?
SPEAKER_03Well, it's like watching a train wreck. Nobody really wants to look at a train wreck, but then they do. I like watching train wrecks because it's like it's kind of like when you drive past a car wreck and you don't really want to see it, but when you go back past it, you look because you want to see if there's bodies and mingled parts.
SPEAKER_01Bodies, that's bad.
SPEAKER_03No, but you want to look at it. I know, you do otherwise you just go straight and you're like, I don't want to see it, I don't want to see it, I don't want to see it. No, but then you're like, oh my god.
SPEAKER_02I don't like the way women drive. I don't want to see it, I don't want to see it. Oh, did I say that out loud?
SPEAKER_03It doesn't hurt my feelings. It doesn't hurt my feelings. It's other women, not me. He calls me grandma driver, and you know what? I'm safe. He's like, Oh my gosh, you're like a grandma driver. I'm like, I am, I am a grandma driver.
SPEAKER_02Actually, I told her she drives like her brother Todd. He is a grandma driver.
SPEAKER_03Well, he is a grandma driver. You know what? But I get to I'm not in a hurry. I am not in a hurry. I don't know why you're in such a hurry. You're switch shifting lanes, you gotta get there. Like I'll get there when I get there.
SPEAKER_01I'm not lazy.
SPEAKER_03I know, but you know what? Like you're on time and I'm always late. I I'll get there when I get there. I am not gonna endanger myself or other human beings around me. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I would never do that. Maybe myself.
SPEAKER_03Well, I don't want that to happen.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but it's a thing. I think your cat's eating the lead paint over there.
SPEAKER_03No, no, that's probably from my uh my chair. No, my yeah, my cat. He's making fun of my little version. Little person. Anyways. Alright, guys. We bored you enough.
SPEAKER_02We're done.
SPEAKER_03We're sad. No, I'm not sad. No, it's all good. I got a problem.
SPEAKER_02Life is good, and we're gonna be grateful for everything that we have.
SPEAKER_03That is true.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03You know what? You can either sit, you can sit in your misery and say, This is things that I don't have, or you go, you know what? I woke up in a bed, I had some food, uh, I have a roof over my head, I got family who love me. I'm not, I don't have cancer, or I can walk with my two feet, I have hands to like feed myself. I mean, like, yeah, it could be always so much worse. No, but it could always be worse. Yeah, and sometimes people don't feel that way, they just like they don't see it, but like it could be always so much worse. And that was um, I remember that sermon that Dr. Allen or Dr. Allen did back at the Methodist church. Like, it could always be so much worse, and it's not. Yeah. Um, so be thankful for what you have because it could always be worse, it could be taken from you like that. I mean, we just recently lost we just recently lost a friend of ours that was a very good friend of ours. And I'm not gonna make you cry again. No, I'm not gonna cry. But John Starr was a very good friend of ours. He was a very talented photographer. We met him through a uh a girlfriend of ours that dated him. Amazing, amazing photographer, 50 years old, and his him and his girlfriend just recently passed away on a motorcycle crash in Pensacola. And um I mean, just had the I mean, had the world by the balls, and um, and it just changed like that.
SPEAKER_02It can change in a second.
SPEAKER_03And it can change so yeah, your dad had the time and he did not have the time, but he went out going John and Co Kobe went out exactly how they wanted like they were living exactly what they wanted to do. So I mean, things can be so much worse.
SPEAKER_02That's what I'm saying. There's so many things to be thankful for every day. Like there's a million things to be thankful for. You just have to train your mind to do it. You have to train your mind to think about those things because you know, the negativity is always gonna come and it's easier.
SPEAKER_03Oh, it's so easy with the social media media negativity.
SPEAKER_02But you know what? You you control what goes on in your mind, and you can you can make yourself think really good thoughts and and thankful and grateful thoughts, and in your mind you can train your mind to do that, I believe. It's like um, you know, anyway, we don't want to get it.
SPEAKER_03So so my mm, I wanted you to have this realization, Daniel Son. My work is here done.
SPEAKER_02I guess Oh, you call me grasshoppers, Daniel Son.
SPEAKER_03Your work is here now. You realize things are so good. Don't be sad.
SPEAKER_02The only thing I have to do now is catch a fly with a chopstick. That's it.
SPEAKER_03Anyways, well, thank you guys for spending time with us. Whether you are watching us, don't be making fun of me. Whether you whether it's on YouTube or you're listening to us on Spotify, on Amazon, on um Apple mu uh Apple Podcasts.
SPEAKER_01Apple Podcasts, yeah.
SPEAKER_03We really enjoy uh actually, we we're actually growing in numbers, which is kind of weird. Like I guess people are we kind of like us. I don't know. I don't know. It's it's weird, but I mean, you know, it has to start like one step forward, and then you know, let's see how it grows. I mean, Mel Mel Robin started, uh Joe Rogan started with one podcast and then it grew. But anyways, we're really thankful for you guys to come out. Joe, give me a call. Joe, yeah. Um, and Mel, give me a call. But we're really thankful for you guys listening to us. If you like this podcast or you're watching it, please share it, like it, yeah, um, comment on it, get our algorithms up because we're trying to be we're trying to be celebrities because everybody wants to be a rock star. SPEAKER_02We're just telling our life story. Yeah, that's all.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, and out to the world. So we need we don't have therapy, so we have to give that. We don't have a therapist, so we have to just tell you guys how we feel. So it's kind of cool. I mean, we feel really good. So um, all right, anyway, so thank you for watching our show. We will see you next week, and hopefully we'll have um not so sad and well, I think it's pretty good. I think it's pretty good.
SPEAKER_02Anyway, I've got the glasses today are from the Root Winery in uh North Georgia, which we absolutely adored, and I love these glasses.
SPEAKER_03So, Root, we need you to sponsor us so we can get some advertising dollars.
SPEAKER_01I did a commercial for them actually, put it on their website.
SPEAKER_03Anyway, all right, love you. Hey guys, here's the poor decisions that make you make better decisions this week than we have.
SPEAKER_02Than we have. What the hell does that mean? I don't know.
SPEAKER_03We've made some pretty weird.
