This week, we I promise we're focused. We have a book. We're gonna review it.

Do you think our seven brew addiction has gotten worse? I thought about this on the way here because obviously I went to pick us up some seven brew. It's okay.
SPEAKER_01I almost told you at lunch to just bring me seven brew.
SPEAKER_00I thought about it, to be honest. I pondered doing that and then I fell asleep. I um was working so hard. So much work. I almost just outed myself for right there. I did I was doing it. So much work you did. I actually I did do work a lot of the day, actually. I promise. I was not um doing what I almost said I was doing.
SPEAKER_01Never, never.

SPEAKER_01Uh, I feel like our addiction will get worse when the one in Kennesaw opens.
SPEAKER_00When the one in Kennesaw opens because it'll just be a good one.

SPEAKER_00I thought that was supposed to open this weekend.
SPEAKER_01Oh. It was supposed to open today. Did it? I don't know.
SPEAKER_00We'll have to I swore I heard somebody just like whisper that on Twitter. It was me. Wasn't you? I think you did send me something that said, hey, I think Dutch Bros is opening, and I said, What do you mean?
SPEAKER_01It was on Yes, it was me.
SPEAKER_00It was you.
SPEAKER_01Could have seen it. Could have been on TikTok.
SPEAKER_00I feel like it was TikTok where I saw somebody be like, This is the Dutch Bros, and I'm like, what's it the Dutch Bros that I'm gonna watch?
SPEAKER_01This.
SPEAKER_00They have the same thing. I was about to say they are the same thing in different fonts, aren't they? Pretty much. I've heard I've heard some people Oh it's open! It's open! It's open. How late is it open? 11 p.m. So hypothetically, should we do a Dutch Bros review today too? Maybe. I'm thinking about it. I was just thinking about it. I'm not gonna do it, girl. I did it. I did it. Me on the way home tonight. Just takes a little I don't know what I would get.
SPEAKER_01I have to start researching like their energy combination. Their first day open, you probably couldn't pay me enough money.
SPEAKER_00Nobody's gonna be there at 10 o'clock at night except for the weirdos. You're right.
SPEAKER_01It is Woodstock, so it is Woodstock.

SPEAKER_01For sure. But from work, it's not. I just had it up on.
SPEAKER_00I feel like it's not that bad from our from like work. So we could go here. It says 24 minutes, so which is actually not terrible.
SPEAKER_01No, it'll just be like us going to Austel for seven brew.
SPEAKER_00Which is so nuts that we continue to- That's like a 30-minute drive there in Bath. That's our whole lunch hour. That's our whole lunch hour. We don't even eat lunch anymore, we just have seven brew. Until the one in Kennesaw is Kennesaw opens. And then it's damaged. How long did we wait for Portillos though? Did we go like the week it opened? No, we waited like the week after? No, we waited. Are you sure? I swear we went the week after or something it opened.
SPEAKER_01I think we did, maybe.
SPEAKER_00I feel like we didn't wait that long because I kept prodding you about it, and I was like, hey, it's open. Hey. We really didn't wait that one. I've never gone again. And I feel bad because that chocolate shake smacks. But I then found Seven Brew in in Michigan while I was out on Christmas vacation and said, ah, a new addiction is taking place.
SPEAKER_01I do like it.

SPEAKER_00Other than our Seven Brew addiction, how are you this week? We're good. We're going into the the holiday weekend.
SPEAKER_01You're going out of town and I'll be in Asheville for Easter.

SPEAKER_01Okay, everybody Easter baskets. That's so sweet. They're gonna love them.
SPEAKER_00That's so cute. I love that. I told my mom I called called defax because she didn't get me an Easter basket this year.
SPEAKER_01I almost called her Barbara. That's not her name.

SPEAKER_00Unless, right. But that's yeah. I was like, I want an Easter basket this year. If anybody's listening wants to donate an Easter basket to me who doesn't actually need one because I'm an adult.
SPEAKER_01I'll Okay, look, I'm the Easter baskets, I'm buying two of them for adults. I will just do an Easter basket next year.
SPEAKER_00Next year, I have something to look forward to. She's bringing me an Easter basket next year. Next year, you just have to wait. Could have got me some lifesaver gummies and I wouldn't have been. I gotta repla I gotta go get more to replace the ones. You know what you need to replace them with? What?

I do actually really like heath bars. Heath bars are so good. Have you ever been, you've been to Culver's. Yes. Get like their ice cream with like Heath Bar in it. Yes.
SPEAKER_01Oh, but you know what I started eating from there? They're I think they're drawn treats. But I add the cheesecake bites with raspberry. Ooh. Uh-huh. That sounds good. If you can't tell, I really want a sweet treat now. Oh, that's true. We did a stop and get a sweet treat before we go over for dinner.

SPEAKER_01I don't know. We'll figure it out. Yeah, we just started getting it.
SPEAKER_00We'll figure it out. I had creme brulee Wednesday. And that was so good. Don't roll your eyes at me. I love creme brulee. That's my favorite dessert. That's why you're mad because you didn't have you didn't go on uh I didn't go on a date. Yes, I went on a I went on a fancy dinner date. It was it was alright. I'm not gonna.

SPEAKER_00You did. I had a chicken. Can I tell you that not only did I go on a dinner date, I'm gonna admit this because I'm pretty sure unless he finds the spot, and please stop listening. Don't listen to this. Listen before I even because I came to your house and I hung out before I went, and I had one of your chicken diners. I had two ice cream sandwiches and a cheese stick before we got this tape. Because what if what if like we went somewhere and I was like, no, right?
SPEAKER_01You never go somewhere hungry, hungry. Right.
SPEAKER_00You have to like play off like your and then I had two espresso martinis, so I was just done anyways. Jesus like does anybody else like drink and you're just hungry? Like when I start to get drunk, I suddenly have to have like a snack. I need a snack, I need french fries, I need chicken tenders, I need mozzarella state. Yeah, pretty much. I actually need to go to Chili's for a triple dipper after I've had anything to drink. That's why you drink at Chili's. You're right.
SPEAKER_01We should go drink at chilies. They have the I think they have Don Julio margaritas now.
SPEAKER_00Oh, it's not about the Don Julio margaritas. It's about I know you care about the Don Julio margaritas. And the Presidente ones. It's not even about the alcohol for me there. It's the triple dipper and the skillet cookie that comes with the ice cream and the oh yeah. That is a that is a triple dipper, half order of Texas.
SPEAKER_01Do you remember when they did It was a lava cake, but it was a vanilla lava cake with like raspberry syrup on it. They're not sure.
SPEAKER_00I vaguely remember that. I know they still have one.
SPEAKER_01They yeah, they have the lava cake, but they had a like a vanilla one at one point.
SPEAKER_00Hmm.
SPEAKER_01Well, I think we've rambled enough about the food.
SPEAKER_00I think we've rambled enough about food. I'm very excited to get into the book this week. The book this week was Overtake by SJ Sylvis. And this was your first Formula One romance, wasn't it? Yes. Do you have you had no pro uh like pre-knowledge of Formula One, or you have some?
SPEAKER_01I don't think so. I mean I know they just race. It's not it's like people are gonna be so mad. It's like NASCAR, just fancier.
SPEAKER_00I'm like, should you say that? Maybe not. She takes it back. We're sorry. Um I mean that is the general gist. It's all race cars, it's just another racing.
SPEAKER_01I did have to look up. I'm like, well, how many laps? Like, how do you win? It was like, I think 187 miles and it's 44 to like 78 laps.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, the tracks are pretty intense from what I've seen, like around. And I only started getting into Formula One years ago. My first series, Formula One romance series, was by Lauren Asher, and it's like the throttled series. It's so good. A friend of mine at the time was like, you should read these, they're so good. I devoured those. They were so good. I want to read I think I want to reread them and get you to read them because they are very good.
SPEAKER_01Or or is it gonna be another Renekant situation? No, I promise they're not good anymore.
SPEAKER_00No, I promise you. Lauren Asher is one of those that I do like. I want to read her other series, but I really, really loved her writing in her um Formula One series. That's what got me in the door with Formula One. And then of course, Lando Norris appeared and I said, Ah! I'm suddenly a McLaren fan! Hello! So I uh I feel like you see a lot of different and I know who Lewis Hamilton is. Like, I followed Lewis Hamilton for a long time. He's another great Formula One driver. You've got Charles LeClare. I'm gonna get such shit for that, maybe, but I I do like I do like a lot of them. I see TikTok really like invited me into Formula One and said, That's how it happens.
SPEAKER_01That's how it happens.
SPEAKER_00He said, You might like this more than you already do. Here. So there's a lot of people who are fans, like a lot of influencers you see, like once the season starts up, they're like, Oh, I'm going to this event and this event, people go to Vegas.
SPEAKER_01I would like to do the Vegas.
SPEAKER_00I'd like to do the Vegas one. I think the Vegas pre would be really cool.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_00Somebody just involved.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, PR, please.
SPEAKER_00PR, please. Somebody just invite us out. We don't have that kind of money. We just want to go. For the vibes. Not TJ wise. I listen. How people do it, I don't know. I commend them for it. But this book followed Tessa and Rome. Yes. They are it's a rivals to lovers kind of vibe. Enemies to lovers more so. Rivals both. Because I mean they were, he was on the rival team. Yeah. The rival racing family. And then his dad tried to uh You tried to kill him right off the rip. Right off rip. You're just you get into this book, all of a sudden, my brakes aren't working. My dad's tried to kill me. I'm like, whoa. What is going on? What is going on? So immediate intrigue, you're like, okay. Alright, Lucas, what's right? What are you doing here? Right. So my first note off the bat was do they have like past romantic history? Because the tension was was tensioning immediately.
SPEAKER_01Okay, so.
SPEAKER_00But they were child I think they were just childhood friends.
SPEAKER_01Right, because as he's crashing, like all of the all of the oh my god. Fanstone, Blonstone, what is the name?
SPEAKER_00Fanstone, I think, is how we would pronounce that.
SPEAKER_01All of the kids like run through his mind when he's crashing. Yeah. So it's very like the light. Going into the light.
SPEAKER_00I don't know what's about to happen.
SPEAKER_01But there's Tessa.
SPEAKER_00Hmm. Very interesting. Yes. Very interesting. So he joins their racing fan like team. Team. Fa I call it family because they they do have racers that are her siblings are are drivers for the team. And engineers, which I guess they call out the shots.
SPEAKER_01I don't know. Yes. Yes.
SPEAKER_00Yes. So she gets promoted to head engineer. Mm-hmm. And her dad's like, here's who you're gonna work for. And Rome. She's like, Where'd you come from? Why are you at my family dinner? Why are you here? Right. Are you taking over? Are you are you coming to ruin my It's very like, it's almost kind of fast and furious esque and they're Are you here to ruin my family? Right. Like, it's kind of funny that way. Kind of gives those, are you are you here to ruin my team? Kind of. She wants them very worried.
SPEAKER_01All of them are very worried.
SPEAKER_00They're very prote you can like off rip see that they're very protective of each other. Like they're really like close. The sibling group chats are always funny.
SPEAKER_01I love those. I love that.
SPEAKER_00I love a good group chat. The new the names. I loved it. I loved it. I think I think this quote came from one of her friends. Or it actually came from their public relations.
SPEAKER_01Gia.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I think this quote I wrote down, I should have said who it came from. But it was, can you honestly tell me that you don't think he's the That's Gia. Yeah, he's one of the hottest man you've ever seen. And she goes, Of course he is, until he opens his mouth. And I wrote, accurate.
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_00Because we've all been there. You see a hot man, you're like, oh, wow, amazing. And then all of a sudden he opens his mouth and you're like, you ruined every dream I just had. Every dream I just had is gone.
SPEAKER_01Yes. But that was like their first meeting.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that was one of their first meetings. He shows up to the building. They're getting, you know, to which none of them know.
SPEAKER_01No.
SPEAKER_00None of them know.
SPEAKER_01Dad did this behind everybody's back.
SPEAKER_00Secretly. He was like, I got a plan.
SPEAKER_01But we know why.
SPEAKER_00But we know why. She doesn't know why. None of the siblings, to my to my knowledge, knew why. I think he kept it from them. I don't even think Van knew. No, I don't think he did. So they show up that first day. She gets him in the sim track. She's like, You gotta listen to me. Like, it's not the car, it's you. You! Not me! Not a miney! You! Like, she they're just bickering. Like, they just bicker to bicker, straight up hate each other at this point. I don't think they do think he does.
SPEAKER_01I think he just likes to get a rise out of her.
SPEAKER_00He absolutely does. He does it on purpose. It's hysterical. She's and she's taking the bait. Like, she's getting upset with him during this whole sim. She's like, you're not listening. Which to be he's not. And he's not, absolutely not. And you get her being like, Well, this isn't gonna work. Everybody's gonna see right through us. We have to go out there and do a unified front, and we're not gonna because I mean their first press day. They can't even get through the press day without him just bothering the shit at first. Right. And sh you can see she's agitated. And then the ten I wrote tension, tension, tension in all caps. I was like, the tension was tensioning. It was, it was very good. Throughout the whole book, SJ Sylvus kills with the tension. Because like when you finally get to that boiling point and you're sitting there in the book going, I just want cheetah to just do something.
SPEAKER_01Something stop putting your feelings.
SPEAKER_00Anything. Please. It's so I love tension like that. When you can build that type of like boiling point throughout a book, it's so good.
SPEAKER_01Right, especially when you like you can feel it when you're reading.
SPEAKER_00I can feel it, and we all can feel it. There's a problem.

SPEAKER_00At one point, I think we I think we pinpointed the scene where you did it. You came into my office and you were like, I need you to actually work. Hold on, I've got something for you. And I was like, I was in the middle of a particular scene, and I was like, I think it was like one of their like first scenes that was not just a kiss. I think so. And I was like, You're ruining my whole life right now. I've just finally gotten to the point where I can get them to be like, okay, I'll I'll do more interest.
SPEAKER_01I'm pretty sure it was more than their first kiss.
SPEAKER_00I think so. And I might have written it down somewhere because I think I think Wait, hold on.
SPEAKER_01I texted you. I have to.
SPEAKER_00You texted it to me, but I think I wrote it down in here which scene it was. Okay, hold on. Vinny, so while you find that, Vinny shows up. Vinny is another driver. I think so. But I also I don't know if I wrote that one down here or not. I might have, but I remember I remember it. I remember it because that's when she's on the date, she's got the date with Quinn's cousin, isn't it?
SPEAKER_01Jasper.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and I like Casper. That's what that's what Rome called him, and that's what I'm sticking to. Casper can go. But before that, you've got Vinny who shows up and he's another driver. This is like their first. That's when like they first yeah, their first like PR outing together. She's like behind a corner, Vinny finds her, he's being gross.
SPEAKER_01Wait, because he was gross before.
SPEAKER_00He was gross before, but he's really being gross now.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00And he goes, he appears and he goes, take your hands off my engineer. And I ugh.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00Oof. I said, love this, wrote that quote down. Don't touch what is mine.
SPEAKER_01Yes. Yes.
SPEAKER_00Ugh. I said, Vinny gives bad vibes. And then. I think not long after that, the gym scene happens. And he's like mad about something. I don't recall what he's mad about. Yes. And like that was when she shows up because he stuffed himself in the gym and was like, I'm not, I'm not fit to be around people right now. His her siblings are all like in the group chat, like, this is what happened. I've got team. Yes, yes, yes. Graham Graham was like, I just saw it. I saved him. I saved him. I will say the guys warmed up to him way faster than. But dudes are so like that. They're like, Yeah, we got no beef. They were also they also were they grew up together. Right. So they're like, we really have no beef, like, we'll just keep an eye on you. Made him her babysitter at one point. That pissed me off. I was like, you're kidding me. She goes out to make out with the bartender and he smacks the dude away. It's like, don't you have to get back to your job? She's like, I'll kill you. Like, how dare you all ruin my good time? And I was like, Good, I'm glad he did. Because I don't want you to have a good time with this bartender. But back to the gym scene, she shows up and she's like, Well, you know what happened? Like, are you okay? And he's just like angry and like doing the whole like a whole angry thing.

SPEAKER_00It was so good. Um, my favorite moment probably in the whole book, the elevator.
SPEAKER_01The emergency stars.
SPEAKER_00When somebody emergency stops an elevator, I'm talking movies, TV, books. That is if if a man did that to me in real life, I fear I fear I'm done. Like if you just emergency stop an elevator to make out with me, hello?
SPEAKER_01My question is When you emergency stop something, like, they have to be notified.
SPEAKER_00Yes. As far as I if I remember from a scene in Gossip Girl, there was an emergency elevator moment between a senator and Serena Vanderwoodson. The senator was married, unfortunately, but it was in Chuck Bass's hotel, so it didn't matter. Uh, and Chuck had footage that he pulled from security to show Serena like you ever pull that shit in my elevator again. I'll send this out to every gossip magazine. But all something of that nature. But I feel like they do get notified.
SPEAKER_01All I can think about is Bray's Anatomy. When that when that scene happened, because that was their go-to. Everybody was always pulling the emergency stop in Bray's Anatomy. Not to make out-you did too, didn't you? All the time. Somebody's having a mental breakdown, pull it. Oh, you're about to confess your love, pull it. Like they're not.
SPEAKER_00I think in recent seasons they just did that for um when Addison met Derek and Meredith's children for the first time. She was like getting upset. Addie was getting upset because she was in the hospital and Meredith like hit the button and was like, They're in his child. Oh, that one gets me every time. Like, it's so sweet, and I love that they're friends on the show. Like, their characters are like good now, and she can like call her. But it was just so sweet, like her getting to meet their kids and being like, He lives on and his children. I'm like, Booyee! Like that show still gets me from time to time. I hate that. I stopped and destroyed my mentor. Good for you. I destroyed my mentality. It destroys mine now and then. I haven't caught up in a while, but it's definitely destroys mine. But I love g it gets the people going.
SPEAKER_01It's provoc. But at the same time, be done with it shit. Right, like are you gonna get it's been a long time.
SPEAKER_00Like, are you getting caught?
SPEAKER_01Right. How long do you feel merit at all? Right.
SPEAKER_00But yes, the the elevator scenes get the people going. Yeah. It's provocative. It's it's what you needed in that moment. You're like, ah, I'm not we're not quite there. But we're getting there.
SPEAKER_01Feelings are being established, I feel like.
SPEAKER_00Yes. And then at that point. That's when the plus ones get involved.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00So that's when she decides because they're s on the grid, that gossip website for Formula One, somebody is like, oh, he's using her.
SPEAKER_01No, she is afraid that that's how she's gonna be perceived. Because are they together? Well, first they call her Landstone Princess. They also called her what do they call her? Porn something. Something.
SPEAKER_00Uh isn't it uh Pit Porn with Pornhub?
SPEAKER_01Pit porn. He even called her pit porn.
SPEAKER_00He did, and that pissed me off at one point. I was like, Don't make me don't make me stab you. Because I will.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I was so mad. She was furious. I was furious for her.
SPEAKER_00So they invoke plus ones to the gala thing. To try to try and get them off each other's radar. Like they're like, we're not together. Nobody's gonna make up a rumor that we're together. Like, let's just call it what it is. So she goes out with her best friend's cousin. Quinn's cousin. Quinn's cousin. Jasper. And at one point, Jasper goes, That dress is going to kill me tonight. And Rome goes, Not if I get to you first. And I I laughed so hard at that because he's like, Not if I get to you first, buddy. I'm gonna kill you dead.
SPEAKER_01So possessive.
SPEAKER_00Like, and I wrote underneath that, it's like what I love about the F1 romances is you get like the tension building through press rooms and paddocks and the gala events, like the events before, all these events and the things leading up to the races that give you like this really good tension. Ugh, it's so good. So that leads to the bathroom scene.
SPEAKER_01That does lead to the bathroom scene.
SPEAKER_00They finally get it on. More than kissing. More than kissing. Thank god. We were all kissing. But not all the way. But not all the way. Because she he basically is like, listen, I'm gonna give you an out right now, but if you don't want out, turn backwards. Listen, let's just- But he doesn't say this in his own. But he doesn't say this. In his mind, he's like, if she pulls on that door one more time, which I think was so respectful. Yes. If she pulls on that door one more time, it's done. Like I'd never Yeah. She did not.
SPEAKER_01She does not.
SPEAKER_00She too felt what we were all feeling. So at one point, he said he said the line, because I watch you, Tessa, and I was like, I love that. I'm trying to remember. I'm trying to remember where that I've gotta, in my notes, I really gotta be better about putting context.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, because I'm like, oh, I'll remember it.
SPEAKER_00Because I'll write something down and I'll be like, oh remember it. Never do.
SPEAKER_01Okay, so I think after the bathroom scene that comes, no. I think after that, I think they have a race the next day. Yes, they do. Is that the tent scene?
SPEAKER_00I think it is, yes. I think that came from the tent scene, and at one point I is it it's either within that race or this the race after. They had pictures of that tent at one point. The tent scene came up again. It does, at the end. At the end. But it's either that race or the race after that she gets a Diet Coke. He left her diet coke.
SPEAKER_01Okay, so that's the race after.
SPEAKER_00Okay. I was like, is the Diet Coke thing the race after?
SPEAKER_01No.
SPEAKER_00Or is it the same race? Either way.
SPEAKER_01I think it might be a different race.
SPEAKER_00Not long after this, they're like kind of more than friends at this point. They're not really defined, but they're definitely like.
SPEAKER_01I mean, if you have if you have somebody's genitalia in your mouth, you're definitely more than friends. Which is why, which pretty much is what he says. Like, I I'm calling you Tess now.
SPEAKER_00He's cute. But they um he goes to get like in his he's in his car, she's about to be calling the shots, they're off to a good start, and she like wrong. She's a diet coke. She's a Diet Coke fanatic. Which I love. Me too. Not me, Dr. Pepper Girly here. But totally understand. Totally understand the Diet Coke phenomenon. She goes to take a sip of her Diet Coke and it's laced with something. Yes. Something that I when she finds out the medication that's in there, I've actually taken before. So that was super interesting. I was like, oh, I know that name. I've taken that before. I've done that. I've done that before. Not in a bad way, but um so I can actually pretty much explain the effects. So she passes out. Yes. What whatever amounts in there passes out. And turns out it's his dad being a shit because he's a shit.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00And put the like the name that he used at the hospital was amnatryptyline, which is also known as propanolol, which I have taken before. It slows your heart rate down a whole lot. And surger I was told that surgeons use it, like if they have like nervous like hands or something like that, it's before surgery, or like really it's just to slow your heart rate to keep you from having anxiety. Right. So they um now for me that was more of an as needed thing. I don't know how much, of course, her dad threw his dad threw in there, but um slowed it, slowed it real down real fast. Passed out. Passed out. He left the race. Mid race. Mid-race. He got out of his car. He's like, I'm pulling into the pit. Call me in the pit. Come in! Call me into the pit right now! Against his better judgment, Dylan's like, I guess I'll call you into the pit.
SPEAKER_01I like just so cute. I so sweet. I love that. I like after that her dad, Vince, texted Rome and was like, you know. You would have been hung out to dry for any other owner of a team. Not even yeah, she goes, any team would have hung you out to dry. But as a dad, thank you. Yes. But as a dad, I really appreciate it. And Rome's like, well, what are you today? And he goes, I'm always a father first.
SPEAKER_00I loved it. Her dad's so gr I love her dad.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00Because her dad obviously knows the ethics of what's going on within the other dynam uh team dynamic here. And Bo, his stepbrother's just a shit the whole time, too. Until. Till. Until he tries to do it to him. Which I thought was crazy. Like in real time, he's watching this happen to his stepbrother, like, what the f Yes. So what happens? Not a whole lot happens between now. Not a whole lot happens between now and then, but he gets threatened with the pictures of the tent moment. Yes. Um he's like, you know, basically, you try you try this shit, and how would you feel if all these got out or I did this, that, and the other.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, because Lucas will do will not stop at anything. Clearly. No, he won't. Because he's been modifying cars, which is what we find.
SPEAKER_00We knew from But Right, we knew. But during during the point where his dad's threatening with the pictures, he goes, I've looked it up, so he can take his fear tactics and get the fuck off my property. I was like, what a man. I was like, period, king, go for it! Then tell him get the fuck off my property. No, really. How awful are you? We already know that. He abused him. Right. I mean, tried to. Right. Like, gets in his face, just like smacks. Intimidates him. Intimidates him. Terrible person. I love that he like stood, stood up for himself and stood up for Tess and was like, you take fear tactics and kick rocks, because it's not happening.
SPEAKER_02Exactly.
SPEAKER_00And at that point, you know, she's like, I need time, because he tells her, like, here's what's going on. They have to work it out amongst the team because obviously she can't be his engineer, but his dad didn't put or her dad didn't put anything about the contract two of them.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00Because I feel like as a dad, he knew. He knew.
SPEAKER_01He even said he goes, You're the only one that can ever that has ever been able to tame Tessa.
SPEAKER_00That's so cute. I thought that was so cute. So they do get a happy ending. His dad he goes to the FIA, which is the whole like regulation. Because so After the race where Bo essentially almost dies, too.
SPEAKER_01But um, oh my god, Noah is his name? Her brother. Yes.
SPEAKER_00So at the same time, his his car gets wrecked.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, he didn't he didn't swerve, so Bo crashes him. But but Bo's okay. Bo's fine. Noah's not.
SPEAKER_00He's not. He was knocked unconscious.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I think they said he fractured his skull. Yes, but he was okay. But while all of that is going down and they're at the hospital, Rome goes to the F what is it?
SPEAKER_00The FIA.
SPEAKER_01The FIA.
SPEAKER_00And he's like, I can't let this go on any longer.
SPEAKER_01And then that one That one guy's like, shut up. Shut up right now. Shut up. We're about to we're about to see what has been happening.
SPEAKER_00And that's when everybody figures out that they've been watching this for a long time play out. Not only that, but Vince, I feel like, has been on the inside going, I can't prove it to you right now. But Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00So So they start working together with the FIA and Pierce Racing goes down the drain. Yes. That's it. For modifications to the drawers. Which is illegal. Illegal. Illegal modifications. Which I'm sure they're all kinds of root like regular that's an actual regulation of some sorts, I'm sure. You can't like mo uh modify the race car too differently. Because then that would be foreseen as cheating. Yeah. But they get together. They have a happy end. Finally. Finally two weeks. Took her two weeks to finally be like, okay. We can be together.
SPEAKER_01Together, together.
SPEAKER_00Together, together. And they end happily ever after.
SPEAKER_01There's a second book. There is a second book! Because I think it's about Van.
SPEAKER_00It is. But who I don't think we know who. So towards the end, you get like a an epilogue of sorts or like a sneak peek into but it's his book and it's about his daughter.
SPEAKER_01Yes, Vivian.
SPEAKER_00Vivian, her uh, their niece, who is super cute throughout the whole book, loved her. Yes. But it's like an elementary school teacher who becomes the nanny, which if you know me, I love that trope too. Like a nanny single dad romance. Love it. Love it. So I wanna see Quinn and I'm sure that's coming. I don't know why. It's so easy to put into the second book. It's kind of predictable when you think about it. That's a predictable, like, way to go about it. I like that SJ was like, I'm gonna go.
SPEAKER_01Because there's only two books in the series.

SPEAKER_01Yes.

SPEAKER_00It did because I saw it and I said, I don't know when I'm gonna read you, but I'm reading you. Because I I was like, I saw the cover on Amazon and I was like, hmm, that looks up my alley. I get in these phases where I'm like, maybe I've watched a Fast and Furious movie, now I need like this type of vibe, or like, so I was definitely in a Formula One era at some point. I was like, let me find more books to read. But that is that's their story. I'm excited for the next one. I think it'll be really good.

SPEAKER_00I ten out of ten time, loved it, gave it a five star on the old good reads. Did you? I did. Oh, immediately. I was like, ugh, loved this. Everybody should read this. Had a great time.
SPEAKER_01It was pretty good. I didn't mind it. It was very good. It was a very fast read too. That's it.
SPEAKER_00I liked the pacing. The pacing was really funny.
SPEAKER_01I liked how short the chapters were. That's my favorite. I hate having to read 20-minute chapters.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Sometimes. Sometimes. Now if you're knee deep in it and it's like when you're. Right, you don't want it to end. Like, and I I was kind of bummed when it ended. I was like, man, I could take more. Like, you could just give me more. But I did. I loved it. It was a 10 out of 10 time. Five star read for me. One of my favorites, probably from the past few months. I liked it. I enjoyed it. How about you? I enjoyed it.

SPEAKER_00I don't know that they've been around have they been around? They're not an author I recognize. But I'm very excited. I've heard amazing things about this book. Uh it's a duology. So, unfortunately, I fear we're gonna get to the end of this and be real upset. When did it come out? This is recent. Um, let's see. The date on that was March 3rd. So it just came out. Yes, so it just came out. She looks like she's writing a second one, or in the process of a second one. Um, I won't read the review, but just scrolling down a little, somebody wrote a diabolical delicious read that resonates with current events, and you know I love a good a diabolically delicious read is all up my alley. So it looks like the second book is on there. And that one is to be called Python.

SPEAKER_00I don't have a Oh, I do have a publication date. It looks like around March 30th, of 27. So not ideal. I mean that's fine.
SPEAKER_01You know what Beck and Yarro, by any means. You know what that means. Because I'm still not over Hunt the Villain. The last book in that series comes out in March of next year, too.
SPEAKER_00Oh, so you have m you have more books to I do. I do see I'm like stalling until November. So that is when the next installment of L Kennedy's books comes out.

I don't do many audiobooks and it's because I just read faster than and I get distracted and I can't I just can't do audiobooks unless I've read the book first. And listening to that audiobook for the chase by L. Kennedy always gets me because the elevator opens and you hear, What the fuck?
