March 2025 Monthly Weather Roundup: Drought Eases, Winds Soar!

Dr. Dave Robinson, the New Jersey State Climatologist and I talk about New Jersey's March 2025 weather. The drought is getting better, bad drought in the south shrinking, though the northern Highlands and far south are still under significant drought conditions. Speaking of drought, March had no snow. It was warmer than usual—4.2 degrees above normal—making it the 11th warmest March ever, starting cold but ending with super warm days. The two then mention a big cold front on March 29th that made temperatures drop 32 degrees in one hour in some spots, plus this winter was the windiest since 2010-2011 with lots of wind warnings. Dave adds that people noticed the wind, but there's not enough data yet to prove it's a long-term change.
