Amy finds an old DM from a guy she now wants to go out with and sends a reply live on the podcast. Then we get into true crime rabbit holes, what’s chapping everyone’s ass, and two Judge & Jury write-ins involving a sabotaging stepmother-in-law and a sister-in-law who crossed a brutal line after a baby.

SPEAKER_03Oh, yeah. It's way more fun in person. There's no like weird delay. Yeah. The screen doesn't get like all blurry.
SPEAKER_00How many times we've had to deal with stupid technical issues. Yeah, it's it's so annoying.
SPEAKER_03It is annoying. I like it in person. I think it's more fun.
SPEAKER_00It's way better. But this is gonna be an interesting one. Some good updates, some dramas happening.
SPEAKER_03Mm-hmm. What's the drama?
SPEAKER_00Well, I was gonna say with you for some my mom's even getting on the drama. She is mad at you. She's not mad.
SPEAKER_03She's not mad, but she's just like a little bugged.
SPEAKER_00She's like, I'm I need to, I'm not gonna give too much like she's not gonna give her two cents anymore because she's like, she doesn't want to force you to do something you don't want to do, but she's also like you're gonna get ripped off on buying a horse. That's what she thinks. She thinks these people are gonna be laughing at you when they buy when you buy this old horse for this expensive price.
SPEAKER_03Well, and I don't know for sure if I'm buying it. I I went and looked at her, rode her one time. I'm going to look at two other horses next week, a third horse the week after that. So I'm I'm still keeping my options open. Like, I'm not like dead set yet. But I do really like her. She's very, very well trained. And so, like, your mom is like, you don't have like that much like longevity with an older horse. Um, especially for what they're asking for her. It's kind of crazy, but they get they do that because her bloodlines are amazing. She's very well trained, and because she's a girl, say in two or three years, I'm like, okay, I need a younger horse. I can get one of her babies.
SPEAKER_00You're so you're really playing the long game.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Like this is I would love to do that.
SPEAKER_00You're think about that though. Because if you have this horse for I don't know, a couple years, then you have a baby, and then that's another 30 years of that horse.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So, like, that horse is gonna be brown pretty much the rest of your life. I mean, and some more years, but that's kind of crazy.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And that's what you want to do.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Well, I hope your husband's on board. Gotta find a country boy.
SPEAKER_03He better be. He doesn't have to be a comp a country boy. It's just you just have to be able to maintain the horseiness.
SPEAKER_00Okay, so what what are you gonna do? You guys are getting really serious. You about to get engaged, but he's like, we gotta get rid of the horse.
SPEAKER_03No.
SPEAKER_00Because okay, what if he's like, I need to move? What if he wants to do he has to go to business school?
SPEAKER_03That's fine.
SPEAKER_00Or he wants to.
SPEAKER_03The horse doesn't have to come with us. The horse can stay in Utah.
SPEAKER_00So you would just fly in to visit the horse.
SPEAKER_03Well, no, I mean, yes. Okay, but like if I was in like your position, like your your Megan's position, where like you had to like be gone for two years or whatever, I would keep the horse in Utah and like let like my barn, they have like a really big lesson program.
SPEAKER_05Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_03And I would just like let them use it in their lessons. Cause I mean, it's like girls like me, little kids, like I'm in this barrel camp right now. I was telling Shannon.
SPEAKER_05No way.
SPEAKER_03I'm in this barrel camp with like three 12-year-olds.
SPEAKER_06No way.
SPEAKER_03And it's so fun. Like, I love them. Like they're the cutest girls.
SPEAKER_00It's good for you. That's good.
SPEAKER_03And so it's just like cute girls like that just like want to learn how to ride a horse.
SPEAKER_00That's cool to let them use your horse.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. And so, like, I would do that. And then wherever we end up, the horse will be coming with me wherever I end up. Whether that's Utah, Dallas, Dallas, Florida, Arizona, who knows? Arizona. Anywhere.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.

SPEAKER_00But that is a major commitment.

SPEAKER_00But I also think you want to find a guy that's going to be against it. Like he wouldn't get serious with you if he was already going to be super against this horse thing.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00You know what I mean? But you guys want to be a good fit.
SPEAKER_03And if somebody, like, if anybody makes me like change. Like you guys like make fun of me, but like I know you guys are like happy that I have like a passion and a hobby that like I love and whatever. Like, you guys don't really care, but like you guys like to tease me about it. But like, if anybody thought that, like, like, ew, that's so weird. Why are you doing that? Like, what a waste of time. I wouldn't even give them the time of day.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's true.
SPEAKER_03So, yeah.
SPEAKER_00But now it's funny, so you're doing a barrel camp right now.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00With three other 12-year-olds.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Like, I actually do have a lot of respect for you that you don't care. A lot of people would be like, embarrassed. Like, oh, I can't do that. Like, that's embarrassing.
SPEAKER_03No, and these girls have been writing their entire life. So they know a lot more than I do.

SPEAKER_03And like they're just like fun to talk to. And actually, we made the connection that Taylor went to high school and played on his high school basketball team with their dad.

SPEAKER_03I do not have a crush on Taylor. You have got to stop saying that. People are gonna think you're serious.

SPEAKER_03And it's like when when girls are like, I want to marry somebody like my dad. I get I want to marry somebody like Taylor, like you, like Drew.

SPEAKER_03I actually, I actually like kind of have a dilemma that I want to pick your brain about.

SPEAKER_00For people that are wondering why we're pausing, there's someone doing some uh there's like a maintenance guy here doing, yeah.
SPEAKER_03And he's been here for hours, and we're like, Wow, like when are you gonna leave?

SPEAKER_03Like, I went to my horse lesson, was at my horse lesson for almost two hours this morning, came back, he's still here.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, he's just been like hanging out. Okay, anyway, we can't be talking about it.

SPEAKER_00The dilemma that you have to pick my brain about it.
SPEAKER_03Oh, okay, yes, okay.

SPEAKER_03Okay. So I saw this guy and I was like, he is so cute. Like my type to a T.
SPEAKER_00Which I don't know what your type is, but I want to see a picture of him.
SPEAKER_03He's darling.

SPEAKER_03So I'm I see him, I'm like, oh my gosh, like he is so cute. I need to like find him on Instagram. So I go find him on Instagram, and I have like a bunch of mutual friends. And so I message my good friend, and I was like, You should set me up with him. And she was like, Oh my gosh, yes, of course. Like, I'll write him right now. So she's like sending me screenshots of like what she's saying to him, and she's like, Hey, are you single? I have this like really cute girl I want to set you up with. And he was like, Yeah, set me up. Like, who is it? Send me her Instagram.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_03So she sends him my Instagram, and he's like, Oh ha ha. Like somebody tried to set me up with her before and she ghosted me. And like we messaged back and forth, and then I asked her out and she never responded. So my friend screenshot it and sent it to me, and she was like, What the actual F is wrong with you?
SPEAKER_00Wait, you did this?
SPEAKER_03No, so so just just listen. And I was like, I I was like, no, I've never seen this guy before in my life. I've never heard of him. I know his friends.
SPEAKER_00That's weird.
SPEAKER_03Okay, like I know a lot of the same people that he knows, but I'm like, I would remember him because I think he is so cute.
SPEAKER_06Okay.
SPEAKER_03And I was like, there's no way. So she sends me his number. I'm like searching in my text for like his name, his number, and I don't delete any of my text messages. I still have all my text messages from high school.
SPEAKER_00That's insane.
SPEAKER_03So I'm searching, there's nothing. I'm like, no, there's no way. Like, I don't have one message from him.
SPEAKER_00Someone pretending to be you.
SPEAKER_03So that's what I thought. I was like, or maybe he was texting the wrong number and like the person like was just like playing along. Cause I've seen TikToks where it's like, yeah, yeah, somebody gives like a fake number and then they're like talk about how I did that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, they like play along. Yeah. And I was like, no, like he didn't, he did not message me. So then I'm like, I'm gonna go through my Instagram and see if he messaged me on there. Because I mean, like, not to put myself on blast, but like I have been known to ghost some people.
SPEAKER_00Yes. And also you have like a thousand under text messages, but anyway, keep going.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, so I'm going through my Instagram and I I search his name, nothing's coming up. I'm like, hey, what the heck? So then I go to his profile and I click like message, a request that I never saw from 2021. And I was like, shit. And it was like, hey, like, I'd love to take you out if you're up for it. And when I saw it, my heart sank. I was sick, but he told my friend, like, yeah, we messaged back and forth. I'm like, well, we didn't message back and forth because it's still sitting in my request.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_03So she she messaged him and she was like, she went through her phone. Like, I asked her, and she said that you must have the wrong number or something because like she doesn't have any text from you. And he was like, Oh, ha ha ha, weird. I don't know. And she was like, Here's her number. Like, you guys should go out. Like, I think you guys would get along.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_03And he saw it, and that was like three days ago. So he hasn't messaged me. So I'm texting my friend, and I'm like, hey, like, no, I really want to go out with him. Yeah. Because I think he's so cute.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_03So I'm like, do I A, she sent me his number. So do I A, just like text him, or do I B like follow him on Instagram and respond to his message and be like, I am so sorry. I'm just seeing this, but I would I would love to go out with you.
SPEAKER_00I think B.
SPEAKER_03That's kind of what I'm thinking.
SPEAKER_00This this reminds me of Megan and I.
SPEAKER_03That's what Megan said to me in the bathroom when we were getting ready.
SPEAKER_00That sounds exactly how I shot my shot, did not get a response, but a couple years later, yeah, the message gets seen and it all works out.
SPEAKER_03I know. Isn't that wild though?
SPEAKER_00That is unfortunate for that guy. But I know I think if you just this is what I would do.
SPEAKER_03Should we do it right now?

SPEAKER_00Like you really want to go out with him. But so what else did he say in the text? Like he was saying like he liked you, like he thought you were cute, would want to go out with you.
SPEAKER_03He all he said was, oh ha ha, like I tried to take her out and she ghosted me.
SPEAKER_00Oh and so then my- So then he's a little embarrassed. That's like me.
SPEAKER_03And that and that that's what I told my friend. I was like, I think I need to like reach out because like his pride has probably hurt.
SPEAKER_00Yep.
SPEAKER_03And like, yeah, so I okay, okay.
SPEAKER_00So I would say so because this reminds me with Megan, because if Megan would have like been talking to one of my friends then telling me that, I would have been embarrassed because I DM'd you and didn't get a response or DM her. So I'd be a little slow to text you too. Yeah, all makes sense.
SPEAKER_03Yes, and I told I I get why he hasn't, but I'm like annoyed because I really want to go out with him.

SPEAKER_03Yeah, and so I thought I was a little crushed from my crush. That one was weird when I shot my shot, and he was like so backstory. We'll see.
SPEAKER_00I kind of made I sent the message for Amy and I kind of forced her to shoot a shot.
SPEAKER_03Well, because I like kind of like I responded to his story.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you had already kind of I had already like slid in and like put some feelers out, but like it wasn't the best job.
SPEAKER_03And so Zach was like on Sunday dinner, Emily and Zach were like, no, we're like we're doing this.
SPEAKER_00Let's just do it.
SPEAKER_03And so yeah, we DM'd him and was like, we were But then he responded immediately, yeah. He did, but then it was like, uh, we'll see. And I was like, oh okay, well, yeah, I was like, all right, well, another one.
SPEAKER_00You just send him your number, like, all right, let me know, right? Yeah, that's so weird, yeah, so weird. Anyway, um anything else going on?
SPEAKER_03Other than dating and horses, that's all my life is right now.
SPEAKER_00Why do you have double band-aids going?
SPEAKER_03You notice that?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I'm a barrel camp.

SPEAKER_03Uh yeah. The horse that I ride, his reins are ropes. And so when you're like pulling them around, when you're like pulling the reins around to get them to go around the barrel, sometimes like the rope and like your hands a little sweaty and the reins will like for it. Yeah, so I just got like some rope burns, but I picked at the scab, so then I had to put band-aids over, so I would stop picking.
SPEAKER_00Oh well, yeah. You asked me to get a band-aid or to get a napkin, and know what that reminded me of? No, I know what you're gonna say, and like it's the funniest story ever. But it's actually embarrassing for me too. Like, what was I doing?
SPEAKER_03You were like still like trying to like new to the family. Because you guys had only been married at that point for like what a a year?
SPEAKER_00Not even, not even, maybe just over a year. I think it was our second Christmas.
SPEAKER_03Let's see when it was, like when it actually was.
SPEAKER_00So this is what happened. We are here at your house, and it's probably like midnight or 1 a.m.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So we would always during the breaks, we would stay up super late playing cards. Yeah. Was it cover your assets? No, it was Shanghai.
SPEAKER_03Shanghai.
SPEAKER_00It's just this simple card game, and we would play for hours.
SPEAKER_03Like it was just me, you and Megan too.
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_03Like, and normally, like with Shanghai, at least like how me and my friends play, like, you're with at least like five people.
SPEAKER_00No, it was just the three.
SPEAKER_03It was just the three of us.
SPEAKER_00And we play for so long, just laughing. It was a good time, it was fun. And some of my best pictures of you would come to those nights. Because you look, you'd be looking at it.
SPEAKER_03It was it was rough. I was looking real rough.
SPEAKER_00I'll have to put some on here. But anyway, so we're playing. I don't even remember what happened and what joke or whatever I said. It made you laugh.
SPEAKER_06I was laughing so hard.
SPEAKER_00She was laughing so hard, and all of a sudden, I just hear water falling onto the ground. Amy just full on peas all over the ground. Well, not even a little bit though. You didn't, it wasn't just like a little bit of a little bit more.
SPEAKER_03It was a full bladder's worth.
SPEAKER_00It started coming and you said epic and you let the all of it go.
SPEAKER_03No, okay.
SPEAKER_00You made a conscious decision.
SPEAKER_03Oh my gosh, she will not stop calling me. Who? Emily. And my phone's on, do not disturb. Okay, anyway. Okay, if backstory.
SPEAKER_00Okay, sure.
SPEAKER_03The girls in my family, we don't have like the strongest bladders. Like growing up, if I laughed with my friends, 10 out of 10, I was peeing my pants.
SPEAKER_00Just laughing?
SPEAKER_03Just laughing. Like if somebody made a really funny joke that I thought was hilarious and I started laughing really hard, I'd pee. And like once a little comes out, you can't stop it. And so that's kind of what happened. We were like drinking Diet Coke all night, and then you made me laugh. And like I peed just like a little bit, and then it just like at that point, I was like, But then and so also, I didn't have any control over it.
SPEAKER_00There's during this time. Oh my gosh. This guy, um, so your mom was also there's a couple times her kids had spilt some drinks.
SPEAKER_03Oh yeah. And she would always be, you know, my floors, my basement. She thought it would like seep in the two seconds it spilled, she thought it was gonna seep through the floors into the basement and like ruin the ceiling.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and so okay, I'm new to the family, trying to be nice. Yeah, Amy runs upstairs to go deal with herself.
SPEAKER_03I got in the shower, yeah.
SPEAKER_00And I don't know where Megan went with you too, for some reason.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, she did.
SPEAKER_00And so I'm more down there just sitting with a pile of pea on the ground. I'm like, F me, I guess I better clean this up because it's sitting there and I didn't want to. Shannon is finding the pile of pea on the ground, and so I went and got some towels and cleaned up Amy's pea.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, you were a really nice brother-in-law, and then that was I'm actually shocked I did that. And then I came down and it was all cleaned up, and then we kept playing. I like moved to the chair and I was like, I'll use a new one.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that was insane.
SPEAKER_03That was so funny.
SPEAKER_00Those were good times though. We had there's like a couple Christmases in a row. It was just like every night we would just play.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, because you guys did not have kids yet.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, escapri would say we were fun back then.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, Capri says that when you have kids you become boring because you like don't want to do stuff.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I just want to go back to sleep. But that was funny. Um, sorry, random story there. What else? Anything else going on? Um I can tell you.

SPEAKER_00Let's see. Um home. Demolition has started.
SPEAKER_03I am so excited.
SPEAKER_00Uh like just even seeing it, yeah, looks so much better.
SPEAKER_03Seeing like what they've ripped out already, I'm like, dang, that's gonna look good.
SPEAKER_00We've had a lot of drama with it um with the house, as we talked about last week. We also had someone go and search for a septic tank.
SPEAKER_01So did you find it?
SPEAKER_00Hear me out. So the lady that we bought it from, I'm sorry, freaking psycho. At first, I thought she was nice, and unfortunately, I thought she was nice up until the house became ours, and now I've learned freaking liar about so many things.
SPEAKER_03Oh, that's rough.
SPEAKER_00Um, one thing she did not, she we got a home inspection done, and but then after she was like, No more home inspections because I want to do an electrical one, I want to do a septank one, yeah, and a couple others just to make sure everything was which isn't crazy, like you always get your home the home inspection done when you're
SPEAKER_03Buying a new house, yeah.
SPEAKER_00And I was a little too trusting because I don't know, whatever.
SPEAKER_03She tugged on your heartstrings, she she played you like a fiddle, she did a great job of it, and I learned my lesson.
SPEAKER_00But anyway, so we didn't do uh septic septic tank inspection because she didn't want anything tinkered with that was gonna mess it up because everything's been perfect while she was there, right? And I was like, whatever. So they gave us like a credit though back. They give us a credit to get a home uh inspection done and to get it drained. So anyway, I send some people out there to go do it because we're not there right now, and the guy went and searched for like an hour and a half at the end of his day, couldn't find the septic tank, goes back the next morning, searches for another like hour and a half, two hours, can't find the septic tank anywhere.
SPEAKER_03And so were you like worried that there was no septic tank?
SPEAKER_00Well, I was actually like, maybe this is good because I would actually love not to have a septic tank because then we don't have to get it drained, and then it just runs through the public sewage.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00But no, it then I called the city and they're like, oh, there is a septic tank. So then I don't know what to do. I was worried it was buried in her cement, which still might be. Long story short, I was able to get the plans from the city. It was like this document from 1985, kind of crazy. Um, so that was some drama.
SPEAKER_03But you found it.
SPEAKER_00We found it, we think. The guys are going there to drain it tomorrow. Okay, so praying everything goes well. Um, hopefully there's nothing wrong with it. And then, so that was a big deal. Um the home of demolition, though, is going very fast. Like they got it all done yesterday and put up new wall, a new wall, door, windows. It looks really good, and we're excited because it's so much more open. So it's gonna be way way better for us.
SPEAKER_03Um it's gonna look like a brand new house.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean better, as much as we're doing. It's gonna be cool.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I'm excited for you guys.
SPEAKER_00Getting your bedroom all fixed up so when you come stack, that'll be good. Um, but yeah, that's kind of it with the house. Trying to think if there's anything crazy happening. They did find a little bit of water buildup. Uh-oh. It was kind of moldy, but not really. He didn't say it was mold, he just said it was kind of like back up from the water, so they can have to put a new drain in the part of the one part of the yard so it doesn't like pile or puddle up next to the house, I guess. But it made it seem like it wasn't a big deal. So I'm actually very relieved because I was worried they're gonna like rip out everything and find a bunch of mold in the house or something. Yeah, um, that was it. Um then we did go to Yellowstone.
SPEAKER_03How was that?
SPEAKER_00Went with my parents, it was it was a lot of fun, but it's crazy how you can drive five hours from here and be in like a completely different climate. It was so freaking cold.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, didn't it snow?
SPEAKER_00Literally snowed our last day there.
SPEAKER_03That was so wild because it was like so hot here.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. But we so my parents love to drive. Yeah, love to drive. And I don't mind it, but with a four-year-old and a two-year-old sitting in the back, it can get tough because they start screaming, and then when you have a migraine on top of that with them screaming in a car, it just like kills me. Yeah, and so but in order to like Yellowstone, you have to drive drive around a lot to like see everything, look for animals. But anyway, on the way up there, we're going, and we're probably four hours into it, and we're probably an hour left. And Weston and look back, and he's like looking pale. And uh he's known, well, he's not known, but he gets a little car sick.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00He's done it a couple times, and he's thrown up once, and I was like, I do not want to deal with like our car like covered in throw up. Yeah, our car was so packed because it was all of us, six of us, in this car, and it was like full to the ceiling everywhere with stuff, and it was crazy. And um, so Weston starts getting really pale, and I could kind of see he starts like whining a little bit. Yeah, he doesn't feel good, and I was like, I think we need to pull over. And my dad was like, No, why would we pull over? He's like, What are we gonna do? Just walk around? I was like, Yeah, like he needs to get out of the backseat, yeah, because he's been trapped in there for a while. He's like, No, we only have like an hour left until we get out. I was like, No, like we need to get out. I don't want to deal with him throwing up all over the back with all of our stuff back, yeah. And so it was a big fight of like just pulling over, and then we get pull over, and obviously nothing happens, but you can I could see the color go back into his face. But uh, you know, that wasn't very satisfying for for my dad because yeah, I bet he was like, really, we pulled over for nothing.
SPEAKER_03See, I told you we should have kept driving, and then we got Megan got a Diet Coke, and and I got a sprite for Weston.
SPEAKER_00He's like, What are we doing? Getting treats for what? What are we getting treats for? I was like, he needed a drink, and Megan just wanted to die coke, it's not that big of a deal. Yeah, and it was like, no, what are you what are we doing? Like, come on, and he's like, he kept saying, He's like, we need to toughen them up.
SPEAKER_03I was like, he does say that all the time. It's so funny.
SPEAKER_00I was like, no, I'm not trying to toughen them up on vacation, we're going camping, not trying to toughen them up, yeah. Anyway, so that was the drama, but other than that, it was fun.
SPEAKER_03How much did you guys bicker? I asked Megan and she was like, she was like, I really don't think they did, or I just like completely have learned to like tune them out that I don't hear it anymore.
SPEAKER_00Literally, just on the way out for like that one thing, and then other than that, it was fine. We didn't really bicker too much.

I could lose a few pounds too. And I'm like, what? So you think I'm fat, then I could lose a few pounds.

SPEAKER_00Yeah, exactly. She's like, Oh no, it's not what I meant. Like, it's not meant to say you're fat. It's just saying, like, I could lose some weight too. Like, what are you talking about? That means you're saying I'm fat and then I need to lose some weight, right?

SPEAKER_00So that really chaps my ass. Because she tends she does that a lot with a lot of things. Where, like, even at the beginning, when we were first dating, I went to the Lululemon. I go get this shirt. I'm I love this shirt. Like, I thought it was the coolest shirt ever. And I took a picture, sent it to Megan, and I was in the dressing room. And I was like, what do you think about this? Like, should I get it? Which is kind of crazy. This was like before this was before our first date.

And I wore that on our first date. And I thought I was so cool. Why? She does that all the time.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, because she she wants to be supportive and she doesn't want to hurt your feelings. Well, especially like you guys hadn't even gone on your first date. What is she gonna be like, no, that shirt is fugly?

Right now, so I'm teaching a lesson um to our women's group on Sunday and it's on prayer. And right now I'm blanking on the phrase, but I will say one of the things I'm the very most grateful for is the Lord's Prayer and that Christ taught us how to pray to Him. And it's the Lord's Prayer. And when I went to Lutheran Bible School in Charleston, South Carolina, I think one of the very first things I learned was how to say the Lord's Prayer. And it has stayed with me. I have it memorized to this day. Do you have it memorized? So look up, look up the um look up the Lord's Prayer. What's the reference?

But I feel like our world would be much more peaceful if we really could follow love, love your neighbor, treat them as you would treat yourself. I mean, it's honestly it's so simple and it's so difficult, and it's why our world is such a complete disaster. Selfishness, power, money. It's awful, it's terrible, and it's never the right way, it's never that way.

SPEAKER_03Yes. So she was acquitted. They found her not guilty. The only thing they found her guilty on was driving under the influence, which she was. So she got like community service or whatever she got. Um, but now she is suing the police department because like they did the world's worst job. Like five-year-olds could have run the investigation better than those incompetent losers.
SPEAKER_06Okay.
SPEAKER_03So she's suing them. So it was it's like their first week back in court since she was found not guilty. And so it's like all popping back up on my feed. So I kept having dreams last night that like I was like running from like these crooked cops. And I kept waking up. Like every hour I was like waking up.

SPEAKER_03And so I just like I didn't sleep good.
SPEAKER_00You did you get away from the crooked cops?
SPEAKER_03Anytime they like tried to get me or like would get close, I would wake up.

SPEAKER_00Like just being in the wrong spot, the wrong time, and just something happening and it just coming.
SPEAKER_03Well, you know what? Now we know who to call. Alan Jackson. He's her attorney, uh-huh. And he is so good. Like his whole team is so good.

SPEAKER_03Like, I cannot wait for Netflix to do or somebody to do like a docuseries on this because it really is so crazy.

Now she's suing the the police department and the state because like they So I'm wondering if they'll wait till that's all done or if they'll maybe like but somebody needs because they filmed everything for court.

SPEAKER_03And so, and like every single cop that was involved has either gotten fired or resigned.
SPEAKER_00That's kind of crazy.

SPEAKER_03So, okay. He was with Karen and her so her boyfriend John O'Keefe.

SPEAKER_03They were out at a bar.

SPEAKER_03They were all gonna go back to this party, like this house party. Everyone was drunk, everyone drove home. And all of these guys are cops. So they're all driving drunk.

SPEAKER_03Like, it's not, yeah. I'm like, what are you guys doing? Like, yeah, what is wrong with you? I'm like, I hope the cops in yeah Utah or like outside of Boston aren't doing that. Like, nobody should be doing that, but like, especially not a cop.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's crazy.
SPEAKER_03Anyway, so they go back to this girl's house, Jennifer McCabe.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_03I don't know if that's actually her last name. Anyway, it starts with an M. And, or maybe it's her sister's house. I don't remember. Anyway, that's where he dies. He goes inside. Karen's still in the car. It's January, so it's like a big snowstorm in Boston or in Massachusetts, because it's a little outside Boston. They live in Canton. And okay. Is this a little loud? Are they being too loud?
SPEAKER_06I think it's okay.
SPEAKER_03Okay, anyway. Um, he goes inside, she waits in the car for like 15, 20, 30 minutes, I can't remember how long, and she calls him and she's like, because she was like, you go inside, because she she felt like she didn't get invited.
SPEAKER_06Okay.
SPEAKER_03So she was like, you go inside and see if it's okay for me to come in and then come back out and get me. He never comes back out. So she gets pissed. And then she also thinks that he was like cheating on her, and they have like a very toxic on-again, off again relationship. And so she calls him and leaves him a voicemail. Mind you, she's she's drunk. And she's like, I'm leaving you. You're such a douche. Like, starts going off. And then I think she says, like, because she thought he was cheating on her, that um she was like, I'm gonna kill you, or like, like, you're dead, or something like that. And then she drives home. So she drives home. That was at like midnight 1 a.m. She wakes up at like two or three or four, and he's still not home. And his either his sister and his brother-in-law, or his brother and his sister-in-law had died. And so he was in charge of their kids. He's the guardian for their kids. And so she starts freaking out because she was like, he wouldn't not just come home.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Because he's like taking care of his niece and his nephew.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_03So she goes and wakes up his niece and she's like, I need you to give me this girl's number because she, they're family friends, whatever. And so she calls this Jennifer girl, and she's like, Jen, like, John never came home. I don't know where he is. I can't get a hold of him. Like, is he still at either your house or your sister's house? And so Jen was like, Oh, I don't know. Like, let me call my sister. She calls her sister, whatever. So Jen is like, I'll come over, I'll pick you up. We'll go out driving for him. So they're out driving, they go past the house, and they see like a like a figure in the lawn, and it's like snowing outside. It's really cold. It's John. And so Karen is like freaking out. Jen calls 911. You can hear, like in the back of the 911 recording, like Karen is like freaking out. She's like, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, like, is he dead? Like she's trying to do CPR. She's freaking out. Like any normal person would. And Jen is like, Karen, calm down. Like, you need to stop. You need to calm down. You're being manic. You're being crazy. Like, and it's like, why are you so calm? Like, this is your friend, your husband's coworker. Why are you being so calm? Anyway. So Jen and the paramedic girl come up with the story that they say they heard Karen say, I hit him, I hit him, I hit him three times. She gets arrested.
SPEAKER_00Whoa. Okay.
SPEAKER_03And Karen is like, I did not hit him. I would know if I hit somebody. Yeah. Like I did not hit him. He never came back outside of the house. So then the cops come. All these cops are like, like it's a it's at a cop's house.
SPEAKER_06Yep.
SPEAKER_03They're all buddies. And so they start gathering evidence. Guess what they're gathering the evidence in?
SPEAKER_00Against her, but anyway.
SPEAKER_03No, no, no. Guess what they take the evidence with?
SPEAKER_00What?
SPEAKER_03They go to the neighbor's house and they get red solo cups. That's what they're putting the evidence in.

SPEAKER_03Like, where are your evidence bags? Where, like, where's the CSI team? Like, there's like a protocol for stuff like this. So then this other guy brings out a leaf blower. He's like, we're gonna blow the snow away to see if there's any evidence.
SPEAKER_00So then they mess up with footprints and stuff too.
SPEAKER_03Exactly. Just there are so many like little details that just like they impound her car because they're trying to get like forensic DNA to see if she did hit him, and they have a camera in like the Sally port of the police department, and it's in evidence, and they like submit it to the court. They're in court. She went on trial for twice for this.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_03It was like federal trial and then like in Massachusetts. She was found not guilty in like the grand jury or whatever, and then it went back down to the state, whatever. So in the first trial, they figured out that they reversed the video because on what the one side of the car is where she hit John, and that's like where she had the damaged taillight. There was his cocktail glass, was like there was glass just like perfectly placed on her fender, on like her back bumper.
SPEAKER_06Oh gosh.
SPEAKER_03And so they realized the defense team realized they were like, this is like flipped, like this is reversed. Cause then they were like, they were like, you were alone in the car, and we can't with the car, we can't see what you're doing. What are you doing back there? And he's like, Well, no, that's the opposite side. Oh, I don't know who that is. We're ignoring him though.

SPEAKER_03Anyway, just like crazy things like that, where it's like obviously the cops are covering something up. Like, it's so obvious.

SPEAKER_03He had beef with John. They had like gone into fights before and like had verbal altercations, and his knuckles were bloody.

SPEAKER_03And he had John had like dog scratches and bite marks on him. Guess what they did?

SPEAKER_03The very next day.
SPEAKER_05What?
SPEAKER_03They got rid of their dog.

SPEAKER_03So they couldn't like swab her for any human flesh.
SPEAKER_00And they killed the guy. So if this is gonna be another 10-minute rant, I don't want to.
SPEAKER_03No, no. We don't actually know. The theory is he got into it, they were all drunk. He got into a fight with the son, who was like 16, 17, 18, something like that.
SPEAKER_00So they need to protect the son.
SPEAKER_03And the son punched him. Maybe he fell back and like hit his set head on something because he had like a he had a head womb. That's what caused his death. The head womb. The head wound, and then he bled out.

SPEAKER_03And then so they think that like all the cops that were there were like, okay, we gotta protect this guy. And then they were like, we're gonna put it on this girl.
SPEAKER_00That's crazy.
SPEAKER_03Because guess what else they Googled? Guess what, Jen, her friend. What she thought was her friend. Guess what she Googled at 227 a.m.

SPEAKER_03House long to die in cold.

SPEAKER_03And then she deleted it. She like tried to clear her history. And guess what the other cop did?

SPEAKER_03He took his phone, took out the SIM card, cut up the SIM card, drove onto a military base in Boston or in Massachusetts, and threw his phone away in two different locations at a military base so that nobody could go through his phone and like get recovered, like recover the deleted messages. Like it is so like oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's insane.
SPEAKER_03You and Megan need to go down the TikTok rabbit hole and have somebody like summarize it because they can do it way better than I can. Anyway, so she is suing the police department.
SPEAKER_00That was like a 12-minute rant.
SPEAKER_03I know, but like it's so interesting to me. When it when it was on TV, like when when you were like watching the trials. When the murder like trial was happening live, this girl, Emily D. Baker, she's a lawyer. Okay. And she would live stream it.

SPEAKER_03Yeah, it's just on court TV.
SPEAKER_06Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_03Um, and then because everything's public unless you're in like a private court, whatever. The federal court when they were at the like the grand jury, that was not okay. That wasn't televised, I don't think.

SPEAKER_03Anyway. Um, but since she's a lawyer, she would like explain things and like dumb it down for you if you didn't get it. Oh, but I would watch it every day.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I I knew we were passionate about this, and then when I brought it up, I was like, oh, this is gonna be minute.
SPEAKER_03No, it's so good.
SPEAKER_00Like you it's so good. You knew you'd watch um, I think you'd like The Crash on Netflix. I will do a very short summary.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_00It's about it's kind of sad in a way. It's a girl, she's I think 17, 16 or 17, has a boyfriend. They have like a very toxic relationship too. Um, and then she's driving home, supposedly it's like 2 a.m., 3 a.m. And they also have uh one of their good friends in the back, and they all have been like at this party or something together. No, it wasn't a party, it was like they're all hanging out, and they crash into this building, kills the boyfriend and the friend, she survives, and she anyway, so she was just like wasn't charged with any anything, but then this lawyer started digging into it and finds out that like she was still accelerating full blast on the pedal for like the five seconds straight, and so she they hit the the building going like a hundred miles an hour, and she never let up off the gas. And then there were like texts of like, I'm gonna kill you if you break up with me and like all this other stuff. Long story short, she gets charged with the murder of both of them. She's still in prison right now. She uh she's supposed to get out in like 2037 or something like that.
SPEAKER_03Wait, is it a true story?
SPEAKER_00True story. Oh wow, and so but there's a lot of people that think she's not guilty, she should never charge for that. It's pretty wild. But like the the details they find out about like what she did before, and yeah, it's it's sad because she was only 16 or 17. And like I feel like there was things that she would say that like we would all say, like, not like I would I never said like I'm gonna kill myself because you're gonna break up with me, but like you know what I mean. Like, yeah, it was just crazy teenage drama, but then they would also use her TikToks as evidence against her to show that like she wasn't a normal, nice person, like because she wanted to be TikTok famous.
SPEAKER_03Wait, is this the girl that they said it was like her and her dad like hired a hitman? No, a different TikToker, different, okay.
SPEAKER_00But she wanted to be a TikTok, she wasn't like famous by any means. Um but then also she made for like example, they when they got to the sentencing, the lawyer pulled up a TikTok she made and was like, This is an example of what type of person she is. So it was like three or four months after the whole car crash and her boyfriend died and everything. It was like a TikTok of them dressed up going to um a Halloween party, and they were dressed up as skeletons, and so people thought that was super like insensitive, irreverent, wasn't nice, you know, insensitive. But in reality, she dressed up as that because the her boyfriend was a f fan of Playboy Cardi, and that was like his kind of look that he would do, I guess, for his some of his uh performances, and so it's like in I don't even know who that is. He's a famous rapper. Oh the fact you know who that is is kind of embarrassing, but anyway. Long story short, I think you should watch it because it's really interesting. Oh my gosh, the amount of interruptions today is crazy.

SPEAKER_00Hi, I wrote in last week. This is long, so we need to keep it more like on track. Because last time we got last time I got so confused. But not from this person, from a different person. Okay. I wrote in last week.

SPEAKER_03That was the cousins. Yes, that was like the cousins and whatever. Okay.
SPEAKER_00This is the girl who has the mother-in-law.
SPEAKER_03The mother-in-law that's like crazy.

SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Hi. I wrote in last week about my crazy stepmother-in-law. Just some clarification. My fiance is an angel. He's seriously everything good in the world.
SPEAKER_01We love that.
SPEAKER_00Yes. He tries to keep everyone happy, and I think that's why it makes the situation so hard. The wedding is this week, so please send prayers.
SPEAKER_03Her wedding?
SPEAKER_00Yes. That it ends up going okay. Some background. He pulled his dad aside two months ago and asked him to be more happy for us and to include me in their family. The next time we were all together, the stepmom asked if I wanted to get my nails done with all the girls. And when I said yes, she said in front of everyone, the only reason I invited you is because we needed a ride. Then called me her Uber driver the whole ride there. My fiance and I have tried to include her on everything to be nice. I invited her to my bridal shower, and then she told me that she was out of town and then offered to watch my sister-in-law's baby while the sister-in-law went to it and also said that in front of me. So she said she's going to be out of town. Wasn't it?
SPEAKER_03She's not. And then she's like, I'll watch your kids so that I don't have to go.
SPEAKER_00Yes. One time we invited her to go on a walk with us, and she told us that she was good. And then the moment we got back, she said, I'm gonna go on a walk now. Honestly, sounds like something like we do.
SPEAKER_01I'm so that is hilarious. So sad.
SPEAKER_00At his cousin's wedding, they even went as far to say everything that wasn't used at the wedding because it didn't look good enough could be used at ours. Those exact words.
SPEAKER_03Whoa, this lady is crazy.
SPEAKER_00She even told everyone she couldn't be in our wedding photos because of a dental procedure. She was getting three weeks before a wedding. I called a few dentists' friends and they all said the procedure she was getting had no side effects, and she probably sh just didn't want to be in our wedding.
SPEAKER_03Literally uninvite her.
SPEAKER_00Like, I think it I lost some of it. Um because it ends right there.
SPEAKER_03But regardless, I would like literally uninvite her.
SPEAKER_00This lady sucks.

SPEAKER_00My thing is even if you don't like someone in the family, you know, if that's the case, why does why can't you like take a step back and realize it's not about you? Like it's the person's freaking wedding. Like, why do you have to make the whole thing about you and call the person out all the time?

It's like, okay, maybe the only reason she invited her to get the nails done is so that she could get a ride. Okay, great. Why do you have to make it a point to say it?

SPEAKER_03Like, just be like, yeah, come get our nails done. By the way, can you drive?
SPEAKER_00Just swallow your pride for a couple weeks so the poor couple can enjoy their wedding.

SPEAKER_00Like, it's not that hard to just kind of like withdraw from things and be like, alright, I'm just not gonna.

Maybe you don't you don't have to get along with everybody, but like you can be like a nice human with like some common courtesy.

SPEAKER_03And it's like this guy, and he's being it's I think it was like when Uber like first like kind of started like popping off. Because this was like Vine went away when I was in high school. I think I was like a sophomore or junior when Vine went away. So this was like 15, 20 years ago. And this guy's random guy in LA is like being interviewed, and he's like, What do you think of what did you think of your Uber driver? And the guy that's being interviewed is like, um, I've never been to Uva Java. And everyone's like, wait, what? Like, it is one of the most iconic, funny vibes.
SPEAKER_00The fact that you're referencing this video from literally Well, because you said Uber driver, and I said, I've never been to Uber Java. Your brain is literally just made up of TikToks and old vibes. Yes. Anyway, back to this poor girl. Um, I don't know what advice I have.
SPEAKER_03I would, I would literally say, if you can't keep your nasty comments to yourself, it's gonna fuel her more. Don't come. And maybe she'll be like, great, I don't even want to come anyway. And then it's like, great, don't come. No one wants you there.
SPEAKER_00That's just gonna fuel it more though. This is gonna be now it's gonna be years of just awkwardness, you know?

I don't know what I would do in this situation because I do think the hut or the future husband, the fiance, he's kind of in a weird spot because it sounds like he only I don't know. This is my brain. It seems like he only is comfortable pulling this dad to the side to talk.

SPEAKER_00I don't like this one. But I don't know where to do the write-ins for judge and jury, so I'll do it here. She sent a DM. That is a perfect spot to send us our judge, your judge and jury. Just DM it to us. Okay. My husband has three broth broth brothers. My husband has three brothers, and the youngest sibling is a 22 year old sister. After I had my child, I gained 50 pounds and have trouble losing it, but I'm actually working towards looking better. Last year, my sister-in-law started dating a person that was out of our faith and not good for her. My husband, as the older brother, made them break up. And in angry response to this, my sister-in-law told my husband, How can he even have sex with me when I'm so fat? I'm overweight, but I still look somewhat good. Since then, she has been allowed to my home and I haven't talked to her. The in-law family is telling me to just let it go and get over it because she's always like this. And they do let her get out of it, out of hand, and let wild things and let the wild things she says go all the time. So, should I let this slide? Especially when there's no apology inside.
SPEAKER_03No, like I wouldn't be able to.
SPEAKER_00That is rough.
SPEAKER_03If she can't even apologize and be like, I'm sorry, I said that out of anger, I don't mean that. Yeah, if she can't even do that, no. That's you can't cater, you can't tiptoe around somebody. Like, no. Yeah, no.
SPEAKER_00That's one because that's in my book. Do I call people fat and joke? Sure.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, but it's a joke.
SPEAKER_00Jokey. But if you like, that is a very mean thing to say.
SPEAKER_03Well, and it's not even like it's not even she was like, Well, I don't like your wife, or like I didn't like your wife when you it's like she went like so far and like so personal and like so below the belt. That is like that is hard to come back from. And the fact that like the rest of the family is like, oh, just forget her, it's just Susie. Like she says stuff that sh no, no.
SPEAKER_00There's certain things you don't say, and like and I get it.
SPEAKER_03I don't know, we've all said things that we don't mean in the heat of the moment, but like you come back and you apologize. Well, you come back and apologize, and like the things that I say in the heat of the moment is like, you're a bitch.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, like you don't personally attack somebody, and especially like you've just had a baby, like there's so much.
SPEAKER_03That's like not her actual sister, that's her sister-in-law.
SPEAKER_00That's so jacked up.
SPEAKER_03Like, sisters can get, I will say, sisters can get away with saying the most outlandish things to each other. Oh, I wouldn't because that's your sister. But like, you can't say that to somebody else's sister. I can say whatever I want to my sisters. Yeah. If one person even said one rude thing about them, I would fly across the table.
SPEAKER_00In a serious manner like that, and in real fight. That's craziness.
SPEAKER_03Fly across the table. And people have said things to my sisters that, like, not even in front of me, but like I find out what they say, and I will block them. And I will not, like, I don't give them the time of day because I'm like, I know what you said about my sister. How dare you say that about my sister? Sister.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, there's just not I I mean, if it was me, and you know who I am, yeah, I would not let that fly.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, what would you do if your sister said that about Megan? I mean, I would because it she said the little sister said it to her husband.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I would Would you tell Megan that she said that, or what would you do?
SPEAKER_00She must she must have heard it though. Did she say that she heard it? I don't know. If someone said that about Megan, first off, I would have some very colorful language to say back, which is not a good thing. Need to maybe control that. But I would just not want to be around them.

SPEAKER_00And and if they apologize and were like genuinely sad or like felt bad about it, then I'd be like, okay. It's gonna take me some time to still get over it, but like that would make it a lot better.

It's gonna take me a sec, but like we'll eventually get back to it. But the fact that she's acting that nothing is wrong, and she won't apply it. And that wasn't like she's not in the wrong here, is insane.

SPEAKER_03No, I would say that she needs to apologize. And I I have said to Emily and Rachel, when I feel like they are in the wrong and they need to apologize, I say, you need to apologize. Yeah, it's not. I feel like a lot of people think that apologizing is like showing weakness or like proving that the other person was right. Okay, and maybe they were right, maybe you were in the wrong. And it like really life is too short that it's like what you can't say that you're sorry for something that you said and it hurts somebody else's feelings. Like, don't be a loser.

SPEAKER_03I have such wisdom that no one really ever listens to. But like, I do feel like out of the sisters, me and Megan are the best at apologizing. Emily and Rachel can find they apologize easier to other people. Yeah. But when it comes to like a sister fight, they kind of have a hard time apologizing to us.
SPEAKER_00I feel like it's kind of like the younger sibling thing, though. Because you've like, you've watched everyone have their fights and you're like, this is so stupid. Yeah. Like, what are we doing? Yeah. Get over it. And you just kind of like, I don't know, brut want to get past it. And I think other maybe the older siblings get more caught up on it and take it more seriously.
