Welcome to Wine Between Wines, a podcast where we talk real life, real talk, motherhood, and everything in between.
SPEAKER_04It's honest, unfiltered, and sometimes chaotic, but always with a cheeky ball.
SPEAKER_03Pull up a date or a glass and let's get into it.
SPEAKER_02Hello guys. Hello, welcome back. I feel like we have not been together in so long.
SPEAKER_04Like we literally just said when we were doing these microphones, we need to we need to have a little test because we're rusty. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02It's been a minute. The last couple of ones we've done virtual. Yeah. So like, yeah. I I feel like we have obviously we talk all the time. Yeah. But yeah, we actually have not got together in so long because then we've done pages, like I did pages. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04And then we've done like two virtual ones and then we've had a couple of weeks off. So I don't even know when I was here last. I don't know. But it's good to be back. It is. It's good to have the microphones back in hand. It is so good. We love it. We know that we've been a little bit MIA for a couple of weeks, which we are going to get into why over the next couple of episodes.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_04Um, you know, we like we've always said, we want to be like as consistent as we can, but we also don't want to push it if it's not feeling like it, you know, like this is fun and lighthearted for us. Yeah. Um, and we never want it to feel like it's like a chore.
SPEAKER_02No, and we don't want it to feel forced like we're talking to talk. Exactly. Just saying shit that we've probably already said or repeating ourselves. Exactly.
SPEAKER_04And like we've never like sort of said like we're gonna bring them out every week or a fortnight or whatever, like we're gonna get them out as often as we can. But yeah, we like you said, we don't want to, we won't want it to feel forced because then I just feel like we're not being authentic. Yeah, 100%. That's not we're not about that, you know.
SPEAKER_02There's no pre-recording, pre-practicing. We just really raw dog it. So we just go straight in.
SPEAKER_04Oh, flottio.
SPEAKER_02Um, win em ones. Alright, let's let's see.
SPEAKER_04What's your what's your wine? You start.
SPEAKER_02Okay, my wine is that um mum's been away this week, so um I've missed my walks in the morning. Which you know, I could still go alone. I'm just a pussy. It's just not it's no, she holds me accountable. It's not the vibe, especially because it's like dark in the world. It's so dark and it's so foggy lately. So, like, yeah, I wouldn't go without her.
SPEAKER_01But spooky.
SPEAKER_02And I just feel like I still try to get up early and do something else, but it's not the same. No, when somebody's holding you up, yeah, I like to get outside. Yeah, even though it's fucking crazy. Yes. Um, what choice?
SPEAKER_04Mine is um, I'm gonna sound like a really bad one when I say this, but my wine, and not that it's even a wine because it's a little bit funny, but is Eastie has been swearing so much lately, like dropping the F-bombs. Yeah, and like I feel like before, like he'd say one here or there, and then like I don't know, you don't really notice that you're saying it, but like obviously we have been, and then he's now sort of putting it into context. Like, for example, I was at my sister's place and he was like just I don't know, just not listening about something. And I said, mate, if you're gonna keep doing that, you're gonna have to go sit in your room. Because what we're trying to practice is if he's like getting really heightened, just sitting in his room for five minutes, reading a book, and then I'll come and get him bringing out anyway. And he goes, like he just kept, I don't even know what it was. And anyway, he just kept going, so I went and put him in in the room that we were staying in at my sister's place and um, I'm not fucking silly in this room. Oh my god. I could not believe what I was hearing. Paris and I just looked at each other and we were like, has still he said it like three times. I'm not fucking sitting in this room.
SPEAKER_02Context is great too.
SPEAKER_04But I'm like, where do you pull that from?
SPEAKER_02No, literally.
SPEAKER_04And then before he was looking for a toy, I said, It's in the toy box, mate. He goes, It's not in the toy box. I said it is, like I put it in there. He goes, It's not fucking in there. Like, are you chilling?
SPEAKER_02How do they put it into such good content? Where are you even pulling? No, that's what I mean.
SPEAKER_04I'm never like, oh, that's not fucking in there. That's not that's what I mean. Maybe I am. Maybe I'm so new to it that I'm just yeah, don't even know what anyway. So it's not really a wine, but I mean, I think it's pretty funny. Mum, please come at me, really.
SPEAKER_02Oh my god. Watching. Um, my win is that we went to a comedy show um last weekend called Adam Ray. He like dresses up as Dr. Phil. We love him, like we watch him all the time. He's like got like multiple different um what's the word? Like skits. Um, like not personnel. Like he personnel. He um he imitates imitates, no, he like dresses up as multiple different people. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So one of them is Dr. Phil, and that's probably one of our favourites that he does. Um, so yeah, we went and saw that, and it just was like, oh, even though I know that he's so good, yeah. We're kind of like, what's that actually gonna be like? And he's like, it literally was just like everything in Walker. That's so good. Because I reckon sometimes you can like amp things up too much in your head, and then when you get there, you're like, oh, that looks good, but but yeah, no, it was so good. Um and it was nice, so we yeah, just went just us two, and then um dad lives in Melbourne, so we stayed there the night, and the boys stayed with Levi's parents, which was the first time I've been away from Walker. So that was kind of weird. But he was oh, he gone to care less. I actually said it's probably easier, um, like mum or Nikki or whoever having them both together, yeah. Like rather than just one. Because they just amuse each other. Yeah. So did you go for a nice dinner or anything? Well, we did plan to. We had booked a dinner and then we just didn't leave enough time from when we left Ben to go to Melbourne. Yeah, fair. So we ended up cancelling it when we got there and went to Grilled. When sat in a grilled at Southern Cross station have another tick. But it was actually so. Did you catch a train? No, no, we drove. Yeah. Um, but dad lives across from Southern Cross. So it's so good.
SPEAKER_04We just walked over and then we just live um close to my dad's mule apartment.
SPEAKER_02Oh my god, we should go to Melbourne soon. We should. Let's play on that. Yeah, for sure.
SPEAKER_04Um that's fine. Yeah, it was so fun.
SPEAKER_02Nice little night away. Yeah. Um, what's your win?
SPEAKER_04Well, my win was like it was a minute ago, but we're gonna use it. Um was the McKee McGregor Garla Ball. So fun. That was fun. We had a really good night, didn't we? Yeah, it was cool. Um that was like my first night out. You know, I was home by like midnight. Yeah. Um since having Benji Boy. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So did you end up having much to drink?
SPEAKER_04Um, yeah, I had a few. But um, like I still was like, woke up fine. Yeah. Like I feel like having kids has really reined me in with that because I'm like, you know, I can like go hard for a minute, but I'm like, yeah, I've got a parent to make it.
SPEAKER_02It's good when you're like, I feel like I was I every time I turned over, Levi's boss was just like topping up my wine, which was fine. Especially wine. Yeah, I feel like I don't, besides wine between wines, I really don't drink wine. Yeah, I'm like a vodka lime and soda girl. Yeah. Um, but I do get a little carried away on the wines.
SPEAKER_04Well, the thing is with wine, I reckon, is you have a few and you don't really feel much, and then all of a sudden it just smacks you straight in the face. That's exactly what happened.
SPEAKER_02And I was kind of like, oh, this is good, the vibes are high. So every time I looked over and it was just getting filled up, I just kept drinking it.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Um, but I mean it was good though because I was like having so much fun and I still woke up.
SPEAKER_04And like because you go home semi-early. Exactly. I think well it finished at 12 there, I think. I know, so we, you know, yeah, we were back home by I don't know, 12:30 ish, whatever.
SPEAKER_02No, that was really fun.
SPEAKER_04Um, but yeah, that was that was my win. That was fun. Yeah, it was good. Nice to get dressed up and yeah.
SPEAKER_02I actually didn't even end up wearing my dress though. Yes, I did love it. The thing I didn't love about it is it was so low, yeah, and like I've practically got nipples with nothing else going on. Yeah, fair, which is fine, but it's like there was nothing holding it, and then if I taped it, it kind of took away from like the shape. Fair, yeah. Um can't relate anyway, yeah. These big, these big girls they're not gone anywhere.
SPEAKER_04Um I love that. Yeah. Speaking of titties, have you been watching Love Island? Yes, I love it. I have been so into it. Don't you reckon this season of Love Island is like a such like they're so good looking.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, they are the girls are standing. Do you know what? They actually, yeah, now that you say that, they actually don't look super fake. You know how normally they're like the one girl with those really big titties. The one that just Tina. Yes, yeah, yeah, yeah. I was gonna say the one that just came in, but that was a bit of a um you know how the UK one though, usually they're very had a lot of work done and almost look like a lot older than they are. Yeah, but no, now that you say that, they are all very good looking.
SPEAKER_04They are, and yeah, true. None of them look like they've had heat.
SPEAKER_02No, yeah, they actually don't at all, except yeah, for Tina.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Um, who's your favourite?
SPEAKER_04Oh, favourite girl is probably Allie. Yeah, same.
SPEAKER_02I fucking love Allie.
SPEAKER_04And like in the heart rate challenge, she was just like such a hype girl. Yeah, and uh facial expressions kill me. I also love that she I mean I'm talking like I know her lol, but she it seemed like she really liked Aiden. And then she was just like, no, you did me dirty, yeah, like I'm dropping you. And I just love that she stuck to her guns because now Finley is just like well, same with Tommy too, like how she just dropped.
SPEAKER_02So true, yeah.
SPEAKER_04She was like Tommy's a dick. Can't say anything.
SPEAKER_02Like you're in there for purely.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I felt sad that that what was that girl's name? Oh yeah, Ali. Yeah, it wasn't there at all. No, not anyway. If anybody has not up to date, I'm sorry, because we're really giving away the spoilers right now. Probably should have said that at the start. Yeah, shit. Sorry, disclaimer halfway through.
SPEAKER_02We'll put that in the um that in the show notes.
SPEAKER_04Um, yeah, but no, I'm loving it. Who's your favourite?
SPEAKER_02So Ali is my favourite girl. This could be controversial. I do really like Aiden. I love it. Yeah, okay, good. I think he is fucking funny, but he does remind me a bit of Levi personality ones. Yes, I see that, yeah. Yeah, just like he is a smart ass, but he's also very wrong. No, and you know what I don't like? Really get into it. But you know what I don't like is they're making him out to be that he's done all these wrong things when he was fully locked off with Yasmin, like he wanted to be.
SPEAKER_04I haven't oh you would have seen, because I'm a little bit behind, but you would have seen that conversation that him and Yasmin had at the Fire Pick where she was like, Oh, and you you you know you fucked it. And I'm like, yeah, wait, did I miss something?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, she did they not show something because you didn't miss anything. What did he do?
SPEAKER_04Nothing, like it was her with Lorenzo.
SPEAKER_02He sorry, he called her Allie three times. Oh but like come on, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, and also Allie's amazing, so like And if anybody out there hasn't called their partner like the wrong name, right?
SPEAKER_02I definitely have um, but yeah, I'm like that's not bad. He was like fully saying that he was close, like he would be basically closed off with her, and she's the one that pretty much chose Lorenzo.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I don't know. I was like, when I was watching that conversation, I was like, I feel like I've missed something here because I do really like his brother too.
SPEAKER_02Oh yeah, I like him. I really like his brother.
SPEAKER_04Well, what do you what do you think about him and Jasmine together?
SPEAKER_02I I think Jasmine is um very like I can do no wrong, but yeah, you like actually to be fair, she did take the accountability in the episode that we just watched. But I don't know, I do feel like she kind of does. You would have seen the episode where she was saying to him, like, uh, where he said I felt like I was at school at school. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. So I feel like she does talk down to him a lot. She was in saying that he was interrupting her a lot.
SPEAKER_04So like, yeah, but you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_02I don't know.
SPEAKER_04I think like maybe the way she was saying, like, I'm talking right now, I'm talking right now. It was rude. Yeah, she could have like just like maybe like caught a fair high horse for a minute and just said to him, Can you just let me speak for a second?
SPEAKER_02Also, he was uh she was talking about his brother, so of course he's gonna have his brother. 100%, yeah. So I don't know, yeah. What do you think about them?
SPEAKER_04I I like them both individually, but I just think together, like, I don't really see it, yeah, to be fair. I do think she's gonna go back to Lorenzo.
SPEAKER_02Same, and I mean they do look really nice together. They do look good. I mean, I really like I would choose Kav over Lorenzo personally. Yeah. But I feel like they look more like a they do, but I think if Lorenzo got Jazz back, he's never. Yeah. He's not happy with that. No, no, no. No. But I also feel like he is well, from the way that they've made him out to be, he wants what he doesn't have.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, well, like even he said to Yaz the other day, like, I'm like, yell at me, like be more toxic.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, like that's a lot of people. Like I'm getting bored. Yeah. So like you've got problems. Yeah, yeah. Um who else is there? Um what do you think of the heart rate challenge? Because that is my favourite challenge. Yeah. Like I look forward to that every day. I loved it. I think the girls did really good.
SPEAKER_04The boys weren't that great. No. That was funny though.
SPEAKER_02Who was the one? Oh my god, I feel like it was Simba maybe that just had no rhythm. I mean, a lot of them.
SPEAKER_04Even didn't have rhythmica, but um, what's his name? Cav yelling out, like, get some WD for me. I was like, only a brother would yell that out. Stiff. Um, what about though, Tommy's move to Ally at the end? Do you remember Tommy's move?
SPEAKER_01Oh, my god, yes, yes, yes.
SPEAKER_02It was just like everywhere. Oh my god, yes, that was actually really funny. Oh. I forgot about that actually.
SPEAKER_04Um but no, I loved it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, there wasn't really. I feel like most seasons there's like at least one guy in there that can move really good. No one could really move that well.
SPEAKER_03Cap did pretty well.
SPEAKER_02Cap was probably the best with his hips, yeah. But like everyone else looked, I think it was literally Simba that was probably the worst in looking like just very stiff.
SPEAKER_04I actually can't stand here.
SPEAKER_02No, very stiff.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, no, he was very stiff. I didn't like. I mean, I don't really like him.
SPEAKER_02Also, is Casper and Moore gonna be a thing?
SPEAKER_04Well, I feel like I saw something on TikTok about it, but you're up to date, aren't you? Yeah. Oh, sorry. Oh no, no, no, I'm not up to date, sorry. I feel like I saw something on TikTok about it but I don't it wasn't like an actual TikTok of that, it was like somebody saying something about Casper Moore's.
SPEAKER_02I saw something saying that Castro Moore's usually around episode 25, and I reckon we're up to episode 23. Oh. So maybe it's coming. Maybe because they haven't really done it. Remember they've done Hotel Amore the last couple of years.
SPEAKER_04Oh, yeah. In the UK one as well. Maybe just the Australian one.
SPEAKER_02I can't even remember the last UK one. Obviously, not in count not including the All-Stars. Oh, um, like Megan, Dijon, oh yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Um, and them.
SPEAKER_04They would have done castle tomorrow. Yeah, maybe. I can't remember. I saw something um and I was like, so true that like Maya hasn't been in once apart from the start, and people are like, has she quit like mid-season? Or something like that.
SPEAKER_02That's so true. She's usually always there for the five-minute dumping. Well, most of the time.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. I thought I have a couple of text message once, but she's literally not been in at all.
SPEAKER_02Nah. Huh.
SPEAKER_04Speaking of, this is like so random, but um, I'm excited for the new season, Aussie Shaw. Did you watch Aussie Shaw?
SPEAKER_02No. Do you know what? When we were coming back from Queensland in January, we started watching it on the plane. Yeah. Because Levi's always Levi's always said, like, I can't watch this shit. Like, and he started watching it, he's like, I can't watch this. Like, this is fucking disgusting. He is disgusting. Yeah, and he's like very uh what's the word? I don't know the word to explain. He just like gets grossed out really easily by like shit that girls do. Yeah. Um, and he got he was but then he also was watching it and he was like kind of but I couldn't convince him to continue watching it when we got off the park. Yeah. But I kind of did enjoy it.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, well, what made me think that was like when we were talking about Harvest and I was like that Tammy Hembrose because Charlotte Crosby was yeah, and quit, didn't she?
SPEAKER_02Well, because she's got two kids. Yeah, or that Tammy has three, but you know.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Um, so what is it? Is this the third season? Uh must be, yeah. Yeah, right. I have to watch that because I have heard how rogue it is, and some of the episodes I have seen, yeah, like just sniffets here and there, are pretty intense. Yeah, they're rogue. It's like more intense than Geordie Shaw. Yeah, oh yeah, it really is. Yeah. Yeah, it's actually fair. So when's that meant to be coming out?
SPEAKER_04I don't know. I think they've just finished filming it. Yes. At the end of the year. Yeah. Do you watch Secret Lives More and Wives? Yes. Oh my gosh, yes, because you're an Aspenova girly, aren't you? Yes. I cannot wait for the new um, the OC one. Yes. Because when is that meant to be coming out? This year, okay. At some point. Because I'm so intrigued by her. All the tea's gonna be spilled. I know, I want to know what Parker did, that dirty dog.
SPEAKER_02Because she's gonna talk about that next time. Yeah, and she talks about it. And what could it be, really?
SPEAKER_04Because apparently it's pretty well, it's something that she found out after, yeah.
SPEAKER_02After that, yeah, but like it was like a secret for like 10 years or whatever.
SPEAKER_00I can't wait.
SPEAKER_02Same. And like her and that chick are still confused. Is that chick married? Yeah, no, it's yeah, there is a three-way relationship.
SPEAKER_04Oh, okay. Yeah, so she talks all about it in the new season, apparently. She's off queen. Yeah, I can't wait. Yeah, same. Anyway, sorry for the TV talk first. Yeah, sorry, off campus. I'll never stop talking about it.
SPEAKER_02No, do you know what's funny? Last night, sorry, side note for quickly, um, I went out for dinner with some friends and um Alex had never seen off campus. All of us were like talking about it because Alex doesn't really watch TV. Okay, or like she doesn't watch like shows. Yeah, and um we me and Paige were saying like we've watched it like three times. Claire was saying she's watched it twice, and then Alex was like, Okay, maybe I really do need to watch this. And then when we talked about what it was kind of about, she's like, Okay, I think I'm gonna watch this. Yeah, might you be watching it twice too? Mum's watched it three times, yeah.
SPEAKER_04My mum's watched it as well. Yeah, yeah, my mum's a little sicko. She goes, Um, would it be weird if you were watching this and then you rewind it, you know, that um the change room part where she goes in black yellow now like full frontal. Oh my god. Yeah, probably. She goes, Oh, okay, lucky I didn't there's lol.
SPEAKER_02I was not prepared for that. I was not prepared for that scene. Oh my god, that was pretty funny though. Oh I love that show, it's so good. Can't wait to the soundtrack and everything about it, everything about it is so good, so good. They're the type of nails that I want to raise.
SPEAKER_04Absolutely, yeah. We're raising the Garrett Graham's. We are my little boys. I know. Um, anyway, I was um I just feel like we're having a full-blown chat here, which I love, but I was thinking the other day, I had the weirdest thought when I was driving my car, yeah, and then I was like, surely universal like thoughts, uh sorry, yeah, surely intrusive thoughts are like just like a universal thing. Yeah, and I feel like I've always had them right, but like since becoming a mum, they're like different. Yeah, I was thinking actually, it wasn't when I was driving, this we got a new fridge a little couple of weeks ago, and I was moving the breast milk from the uh our other freezer to the new freezer, right? And I was like counting them, and I was like, oh, there's probably like enough to get Benji through like maybe two days. Yeah, and then I was just like I don't know where this came up. And I was like, imagine if I died and then like he only had two more days left of breast milk, and then I was like, would anyone even remember that he needed to be fed? Like, would anyone be like, oh yeah, Benji needs milk?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_04I wonder if Tab's got any in the freezer. Would they think one would they think he needs milk? Two, would they think I've got some in the freezer? Like, would he never just be fed milk again?
SPEAKER_03Like, you know, and I'm like, why am I thinking of this?
SPEAKER_04Like, of course, people would know that he needs milk, yeah. But you know, it's just like I don't know, and sometimes I get them, yeah, like when I'm driving in the car, or like if I see a car accident, I'm like, can you imagine like if that was me right now? Like, and what if I died in the front seat and then my kids are sitting in the back? Like, and I just feel like it's gotten worse since I've become a mum for sure. Yeah, um, and it usually does like like you know, especially when and I had these both times, freshly postpartum, where I would think I'm like have fallen asleep feeding the baby and wake up and be like yes and like think I'm laying on top of them or they've slipped under, but then I like look over and they're sleeping in their nuts now or whatever. Same, I've had that as well. Yeah, that's happened to me both times.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. I also um I feel like I've really noticed lately, or not lately, because like the boys don't have sleepovers at grandparents very often. Yeah. Um, but it's not even sleepovers, it's just like if they're out of my care, yeah, there's like no, like I trust everyone that they're with a hundred percent, obviously, otherwise they wouldn't be with them. But I have like, I think just because you hear of horrible accidents happening and accidents happen, yeah, I just feel like I have to be like in control all the time.
SPEAKER_01It's so hard.
SPEAKER_02And like even when we went to Melbourne um for the comedy show, like obviously I trust Levi's parents so much and like they're the best grandparents and whatever. But I was fucking spiraling on the way to Melbourne and I felt just emotional. I was like, what if this is the last time I see them? Like all these horrible things, just thinking, like, what if something happened to them?
SPEAKER_04Well, it's like accidents can happen in your care. Well, that's what I mean. But I just feel like when it's not in your care, like it would be.
SPEAKER_02You just kind of think more like you know, yeah, like you said, it it could happen in our care, whatever. But I I feel like they're my intrusive thoughts, like whenever I'm not with them. Just like even little things. Like sometimes I'll leave the house to go to the supermarket and they'll be at home with Leva and I'll be thinking, like, what if Walker opened the front door and just wanted out? Yeah. But like he's not gonna do that. Yeah. But the anxiety that I get of the intrusive thought, yeah. Even when we're driving to Melbourne, I was saying to Lever, I'm like, oh, you know, like I just feel I feel like I don't know how people leave their kids all the time. I feel really anxious, oh. And he like couldn't be less anxious. Yeah. So he was just like, Oh my god, that'd be fine. Don't be don't be ridiculous, oh. But I'm like spiralling thinking of like, what if that?
SPEAKER_04escape the front door what if it's the middle of the night walker doesn't know where he is and it just wanders outside like all the things no I get it and I think also that is like one thing right like when I before I had kids like I never really thought that I would feel a certain way about leaving them. Yeah same but I do 100% hate leaving my kids like no matter what it met yeah yeah yeah and I think that that is something that should be spoken about that like it is normal it is normal to feel like that feel like you don't want to be away from your kids like I want my kids with me all the time. Yeah I could take them absolutely everywhere with me if I could and I get that it is good to have like a little bit of time to yourself or whatever but and also you shouldn't feel guilty for having that time because you definitely need it. But like I also think it's normal to not want to leave your kids all the time like I don't think that you should be looked at as someone who is highly anxious or has attachment issues or it'll be really good for your kids to for them to leave you.
SPEAKER_02Well like you just said like there's no issue with people leaving their kids just like there's no issue if people don't want to leave their kids. Whereas I feel like the ones that are just happy to leave their kids which again is fine. Yeah um they're the ones that would be kind of like you know oh like get over it type thing whereas like we're not going to say that to them that they should be with their kids more. Yeah 100% but it's funny you feel like sometimes oh I can't wait like even the week leading up to going to the comedy show because obviously we knew we'll stay in Melbourne. Yeah I was kind of like oh it'd be so nice la la la but then like as soon as I was saying goodbye I'm like getting emotional at the door and I'm like what is wrong with me but then I was actually like oh I just want to hurry up and come home.
SPEAKER_04Yeah literally like even Brooksie went on a golf trip a couple weeks ago and he was like I was like oh you know you get two nights like full sleep like you're set and he's like I like didn't even sleep that well and he was just like you know like obviously like had so much fun on his golf trip but he's like it's just like there's nothing like like coming home to your kids.
SPEAKER_02No yeah yeah no I completely agree. Yeah I'm trying to think of other intrusive thoughts um actually one I used to have back when they were like oh I didn't really have it with Walker but Beck's first time around when he was a newborn and I would bath him I would freak out that like I would get intrusive thoughts of me like slipping and dropping him getting him out of the bath and stuff.
SPEAKER_04Yeah um sometimes I do like I think if I'm home by myself and I'm bathing the kids I'm like what if I just drop dead here? Yeah. Or what if I fell and hit my head and I was knocked out and then they fell into the bath in the bath they they can't get out of the bath yeah yeah that's actually Eastie might be able to get out of the bath if he really tried but he wouldn't be able to lift Benji out of the bath.
SPEAKER_02No that's actually one thing um I think of if say the boys are at Levi's house with one of the grandparents because they've got a pool the pool and I always think what if one just like had a heart attack or like you know I think of things like that.
SPEAKER_04Because again it's and accidents happen yeah yeah it's like I I don't know that pool thing just always reminds me of that Emily Carter on TikTok and I know you know how we were saying before like obviously accidents happen she wasn't in care of her son at that time like can you imagine how hard that would be like and I know I listened to the podcast that she did and she was just like that so easily could have been me and it 100% could have been her but it wasn't.
SPEAKER_02Yes so it's like and exactly what she said though like nobody has their eyes on their kids 247.
SPEAKER_04Like especially once you've got two and they kind of have plays like everybody like always constantly in her comments being like I never my kids are none of my cat like you're a fucking liar you are because you cannot have you cannot physically have eyes on your children 247.
SPEAKER_02What are you meant to do? Take them to the toilet with you every single time you're in the toilet or something they come in anything yeah like it's yeah I just turn your back to go to the kit to get something out of the pantry. Yeah what are you telling me that you don't look away from your children then just like the whole time it's yeah no I I yeah yeah I actually I mean not that I had an opinion on it because people are so fucked the way that they think it's just horrible like I don't know how you could ever say the comments of the people what people were saying. But after listening to that I'm like oh my god I just like you can't even imagine how they're feeling in general let alone how his feeling how his feeling like how he has to live with that.
SPEAKER_04He would never forgive himself and like she said in there and actually like I just like yeah couldn't stop crying she when she said like you know there's nothing that anybody can say to us that will make us feel worse than what we already do. A hundred percent and you know like he would just beat himself up every constantly like the worst thing that somebody could say to him and to them they already think worse yeah that's horrific.
SPEAKER_02And even like she said like you know I would probably be one of those people if that hadn't happened to me. Like it's so easy to think that way like oh how could you let that happen sort of thing exactly yeah but it's like shit just accidents happen.
SPEAKER_04Accidents happen scary as they are yeah um but yeah yeah I actually did put on our Instagram about um intrusive thoughts because I was just like you know after I had that one I was like yeah is this gonna get ahead yeah but I was like surely I can't be alone and um we do have a record so I'm just gonna read them out someone said um anytime something good happens like in my life in a movie in a book I'm always convinced something terrible is around the corner I'm scared to feel content because I get stressed out that I won't have predicted it. Oh I totally get that though for sure yeah because I feel like sometimes like and it's it's shit but sometimes you do just like wait for the other shoe to drop hey yeah you're just like everything seems really good right now or like I don't know like if something's like if you're really wanting something and then like you finally got it you're like nah this can't be right you know what I mean like yeah um okay another one we had was I don't know if it's intrusive but every time I carry my daughter I imagine myself dropping her. So it's sort of like yeah what we were saying before like even with the bath staff yeah um and then someone else said yeah an intrusive thought is I'm going to die and no one will raise my son how I want him to be yeah so true so true you don't think about yourself dying any like as much as you ever would when you have kids.
SPEAKER_02I agree so much. Yeah we're having this conversation not that long ago weren't we about saying how like obviously our partners are amazing dads and that'd be so fine but like we're saying are they gonna know how to do this or are they gonna know how I do this like I mean and I'm sure they would be fine because they would have no other choice but also I'm like you know like also it would be nice though for you to know how much we actually do like you wouldn't know yeah yeah yeah yeah unless we were dead not that I'm saying that no but like week to week like on a daily basis when they're at work yeah would you know like and that's sort of I think that's where this like really sparked from with with the milk thing because I was like who would remember like or like also nobody would know the last time I fed him when he needs to be fed again you know what I mean yeah um anyway like he's a big boy he'd fired with that milk for a minute um yeah well anyway before oh we get yeah so I was in too much hot water I probably shouldn't stop talking but yeah I don't know if I mean I'm sure everyone's having these intrusive yeah or even if you've never had them like I think when you become a parent I feel like most people I've talked to um that our mums have had intrusive thoughts because I remember it might have even been one of our friends asking me if I had had them when I had Beckham yeah but like I didn't even know that I was really having them true until later.
SPEAKER_04Yeah so I didn't have them to the point where they were like consuming my life like they can get to that point yeah and talking from mine I consuming my I I haven't noticed it become like a problem no no no but just like a lot more than yeah yeah but that's I think was the same as me.
SPEAKER_02I was kind of like oh I don't think I've really had them and then it wasn't until probably maybe even with Walker when I had I feel the same.
SPEAKER_04Yeah yeah because I'm like I definitely would have had them with Eastie like I said like that feeding one whatever but I'm like maybe until I had Benji then I've like realized probably what they are more. Yeah. Um but yeah I'm sure we're not alone so hit us up in the DMs yeah let us know what your intrusive thoughts are actually like send in like your you know your realist and modest ones the ones maybe you don't want us to mention yeah yeah let us know yeah we'll keep them a secret yeah anyway that was a good episode yeah bit chit chatty catching up nice light hearted but thanks for listening guys if you made it this far and we will see you in the next one bye
