Yes. I was happy this combat. I think I figured out how to use Clanky in a better way. Um, because now that Patch has his double attacks, which counts as a bonus action, it kind of makes uh Clanky not as useful all the time. Um but so I was glad I was able to kind of use him as a ranged weapon. Yeah. Yeah.

When it's two weapon fighting, when you take the attack action on your turn and attack with a light weapon, you can make one extra attack as a bonus action later on. Oh, so I have both of them.

Um, Rex's character was like a good blend of like it was a dramatic moment for Rex that was funny also. I thought like him being like, what? No. Like not listening to anyone, uh, I thought was a really fun. Like I like that. I like expressing the character in a way that's very dramatic for the character and also dramatic regularly, but also funny. I thought that was really good.

I really liked um I think also the payoff of the fur the earlier two episodes in the interlude where you were kind of being um confronted with your like rich rich boy, like Nepo baby son uh part of your life. And then like it mostly as humor, I feel like, but then in this fight, it kind of came out more emotionally, like more with more anger, with more like, oh, I actually can't stand um Valdrick and I want to kill him. And like I think that that was a really satisfying um progression of that part of your character, and like again, making it more important, making it mean a lot to you rather than just like, oh, this is the scene that Rex is, but like it actually had stakes and consequences for him to like open up that part of himself and deal with that a little bit, which brought all this emotion into him. Um, and then I thought I I just was ha then happy to be a part of that moment with you during the fight of like you getting really mad, wanting to kill this guy, and then Lucy like having to or having an opportunity to kind of talk you through that a little bit.

Yeah, yeah. I'm happy that I would have uh told Spencer non-lethal if if I had connected. Yeah, I think you know, uh Rex missing and then you know, actually like doing enough damage with the cli with the Grays to kill him makes it. I mean, if you were like you know, if this was a movie or something, that that's really cool.

Um but yeah, I I made the decision like a minute before uh like because I think you two Janice and Lucy went before Rex, and I was like thinking about like how is like what am I gonna do? And I was like, this guy's just so he made his choice because he's so obsessed with work, and then I was like okay, and maybe that's Rex's motivation then because his dad was so obsessed with his loved that was throwing that in there, which was like not something that I'd really like thought of of him like not being there for Rex's mom when she was dying. Oh, that was so good. Yeah, just trying to like find some. I I think this whole thing is like finding finding your way and like finding the improvising like the reasons why behind a lot of things. Yeah, yeah. And so I was like, yeah, Rex has resentment for his father for wanting him to be just like him. This guy is like him, or you know, this guy is trying to looking up to you know Rex's father, yes, and being like taking out the anger and the rage that he has for towards his father on this guy. Yeah, that's which was fun.

Um, we also had the uh bit with Bale down in the the the snow where he wasn't like he really he really wanted to be on your side, but I felt like as a DM, I was like, I feel like he can't just be like, Well, I'm on your side. Like it felt like there had to be some role or something.

It was so fun. I loved that it just wasn't clicking for either of us. Yeah, it was one of those things where it's like it's like roll I rolled fives for like all of those persuasion checks, except for one where I rolled a four. Yeah. And it uh honestly, it just tickled me every time where I because it just gave us this like like I don't know, it just felt correct that it took Bale a really long time to come around. Yeah, yeah. Um and just seemed very earnest of him being like, I work here and like this seems right, and I don't really know what's going on.

I thought platonically, the chemistry between Vanis and Bale again was like so sweet and fun, of like that same idea of like, or almost like Captain America and and winner soldier, even though canonically gay. Yeah. Um, but I feel like just in that sense of like, I love you, I'm here, I'm not gonna fight you, and then it's like the other person's like, I'm still fighting you, and it's like you have to be there to be like, I'm trying not to fight you.

Well, and it feels it felt like let me just get through to you. It felt exactly like that scene in The Princess Bride between Wesley and Andre the Giant. Um, which where it's just like you seem a good man, I hate to kill you.

Yeah, it it like, and because you had taken the time to be like, hey, what are you into Bale? Like, what do you like to do? Like that was I I was excited about that because I wanted Bale to be like half a red herring, where it's like, okay, well, he's wearing wolf fur. Um, he he if if like you had inspected his cloak, a little bit of the hair would be missing, and that's the wolf's hair you found was planted there. Um like uh uh I was like he's a big guy, he could easily throw. I think you said when you first met him, like, oh, he could throw someone against a wall. Um, but you like taking the time to be like, oh, he's just kind of a sweetheart. I really like that.

I think I was very curious about Rex and the rubric. Yeah, I think that opens a whole lot too. Different side of being like Rex has been taking all of this in, and it and it is so um uh you know, I I can't think of the right word, but like, you know, the the the people who are creating this are divining what will happen. And yes, you know, the test that he will be taken, but then this is the first test that he's done that doesn't feel heroic, yeah, you know, or that he's been tasked with. Yeah. Whereas in the past it's all been like, you know, it's been like save the town or yeah, kill the dragon. Yeah, yeah. And so like that's the like who watches the watchman kind of vibe of it. Yeah. Um I think about that. That's so cool. Yeah. So like who is giving Rex this stuff and like Rex is I think that it puts a chink like a uh is it chink in the armor for like what should I even still be doing this? Totally.

Who's yeah, right, who benefits? Right. Was it corrupt? Like, yeah, I was like, oh my gosh, is Ruby secretly evil? And then I was like, oh my gosh, was Ruby like corrupted somehow? Or oh my gosh, was the person who is giving Ruby the information like secretly a bad guy?

Because I didn't even I didn't even think about the fact that like the I was like, oh, this Ruby this is just for Rex's development, not like someone is using Rex's power to achieve their dastardly deeds. Like whoever is giving Rex those tasks is like using your abilities to do something. And then and it could have started super benignly, because like heroically, and then if it becomes stuff that it becomes, you know, more gray, yeah, more gray or like more to whatever purpose they have.

Yeah, no, my that's really great. My theory right now is that it it is corrupted because Ruby had no knowledge of it or anything. And so that's the I think that's the thing that Rex is now thinking is being like, that was strange. I've never failed one of these, so I d you know, I've never seen the fail state of it. This might happen every time. Or there's something something amiss with Ruby.

Like I think that you guys have found like a really cohesive narrative with each other.
