So let's start at the beginning of the episode. So how did you all feel how did you all feel uh leaving the room for the first time?

I felt as unmoored by Shane's loss when the three of us were deciding what to do with his body. I felt I mean, I felt like it was like the least responsible people being left in charge.

The thing I did say uh was I was like, Do you think when Janus comes back from the plague, he'll have a different personality? Because that would be good. And that's why they kept being like, you didn't hear what I said, right? Or whatever.

It's like what what essentially happened was um Mo Howard got struck by a plague, and Larry Curley and Shemp all had to solve the issue. Yeah, which is what you want, which is what you want. Um not not I don't wish that on Mo Howard. He's a good man.

So what we saw was We were having a good time. We were like astrally projected over the boat. We were watching Shane or Janice punches us both, trying to heal us, I imagine. And we're just being a dick. I think it was a second one. And then um, we also saw our bodies were like hot white. Oh, and then they were hot white.

Um, the snakes were leeching.

Yeah, the snakes were sort of like that. It seems like Janice was doing.

Yeah. So while I I didn't tell you guys this, um, I asked Farrica for help uh and tried to use my alembic, and I got um an awakened um six spells ability, and I got spirit shroud and aura of vitality. So what the snakes were were a manifestation of aura of vitality, which lets which lets me emanate a healing aura for 30 feet, and then every turn I can use my bonus action to do a little bit of healing. Wow. Rita Rita. Rita.

Um, it was funny the difference of vibe between Janice in that place and Rex and Patch. In hindsight, I should not have put them together. Janice was like, oh my god, what is this? Oh, oh my god. And Patch and Janice were like, pull my finger! We were having fun.

We yeah, we saw the snakes, and then we also saw these creepy demon flying monsters above us that were hot white.

And then I saw purple justice scales, and then I woke up, and then I had to leave.

After you drew from the box, I just told him that I was gonna become a tree.

I I feel like Janice coming back from that and immediately doing a Superman charge at Plague. That's awesome. That's crazy.

It was catching up with us anyway, so I was like, if it if I can have it surround me, it won it everybody, but uh I was like, maybe this will work. It didn't.

So are Janus and Patch still at risk for suddenly disappearing?

I think we don't know what happens because usually it's like people get sick or not. Like there's like that first week of some some sometimes symptoms that appear and sometimes they don't, and then people are disappearing after like a week.

I mean, what's interesting is is we now know what it is, and I'm curious if Cersei uh also being an Oracle has any like tether to what happened to her and like what happened to her. Um, because now we know, like, oh well, the illness is you draw from the box of many things and you get whatever fate it is. Um, but what about the people who don't draw? Do they just not wake up until they draw? Is that the people who just stay asleep? Yeah, I don't know. Could be. Spence, you do know. I don't know. You do know Spencer.

That sounds like that sounds I mean, because I was wondering like, why did we? I mean, I think, you know, just from like a narrative storytelling perspective, it makes sense for us to wake up pretty quickly. But, you know, what makes us different that we're waking up soon rather than like, is it like our godly, our godliness that makes us be able to wake up?

Yeah, people people are waking up in various times. Like, some people wake up immediately, some people it takes some time. Some people stay like coma's about it.

Yeah, yeah, I think um Rex being incredibly frustrated that he's the only one who gets something like pull something shitty is fucking awesome. Yeah, like it's so fun to play like Rex being. It's fun to play Rex being like a goal on girl. It's also fun playing Rex being like, I'm fucked. What the fuck? Like, this sucks for me.

Um, but I think like finding the reaction of like, obviously, Rex is not gonna be like I think it's tough sometimes when when you're role-playing to to like sense and choose the right emotion to react to something. Yeah, yeah. Like there's definitely been times when things have happened emotionally for Rex that I I'm like, I feel like I chose the right emotion and I went with it. And like I feel great about that. And there's another time where I'm like, oh, Rex is underselling this. Yeah, you know, and like or Matt is underselling it, yeah, or whatever. And I think like this is it's a gift to as much as it's like not the place I like Matt would want to go, it's a gift to be like, hey man, you're fucked. Like it is uh it's an opportunity to play Rex at his most uh scared, which and how does he react when he's scared is he's going to be kind of a dick.

And I I think there's a little bit of like a boy who cried wolf aspect with Rex a little bit. Like I think that's how Patcha's gonna is is reacting, is like Rex complains all the time about shit that's going on with um, so this is just like another like kind of junky.

What was Rex what was Rex all melancholy about before he even got sick? He was being weird in the boat.

Like, I'm kind of looking, I think Rex is looking to Janice as the leader right now. Like and like the conversation that Janice and Rex had where it was like, hey, I need you to be a hero. Or like I, you know, I want you to come if you want to be a hero. And I think like this is when you're not when like Janice didn't communicate what he was gonna do or whatever, and like I don't know what the fuck to do. I'm piloting this boat, like right.

Yeah, yeah. And Rex is so quick to those reactions of like something isn't going his way, he's gonna react about it. So I think that I assume that you know that the this um arc for him is gonna be a lot of him trying to like convince us that it's worth worrying about. I don't think Patch is convinced.

Yeah, I mean, like Matt is not worried about Rex. Yeah, yeah, because I'm confident that we're gonna be able to figure it out. But I think that's like when Spencer goes, hey, yeah, take uh two off your dexterity for every day that you have this, it's like oh shit, that sucks.

And but I think like I was thinking about it, and I think the thing the real emotional core of it for Rex is he wanted to come here to be like a true hero, and in his mind that means saving other people. But now he's a now he has to save himself. Yeah, and that's the thing that's like this is now become the stakes have heightened, or and it becomes a selfish act, or like less selfless. I think that's the thing that he's like most frustrated with. He's like, this was supposed to be like fun. This was supposed to be cool, and I was gonna save this town with my friends, and now I'm gonna turn into a tree. Yeah. And I think like taking his um defeatist sort of like, no, just plant me in a fucking yard, you know, like just get rid of me. Yeah, you know, is and then going to like the you know what when you guys were like doing all the puns and stuff, which were very funny. Um being like, you know what, actually, I'm gone. I'm gone. I'm gonna go back to my old life, you know, and being like it's the true test for him, I think, in this arc isn't necessarily like trying to convince you guys that it's a big thing, but trying to internally solve the riddle of is there duality here? Or like can you save other people and save yourself and it be like heroic? Yeah.

Um, but I think in in the sense that like um uh you're looking to what's the there's a word I'm looking for, and I can't think of what the word is. It's the story of my life. Orange. Um actualize. Uh self-confidence, like your sense of per not purpose, but like just um uh like like Rex will have worth, maybe self-worth, I think. Esteem. Yeah, self-esteem. Self-esteem coming from if I'm saving other people, then I'm a good person, then I have self-esteem, then I can then like uh people will be proud of me, then I can be proud of myself. And that if you save, if you have to save yourself, can't like you don't get those things from that. Like that's what it feels like to Rex, right? Because like if I save myself, I'm not gonna get the self-esteem, the self-worth, the self-confidence from saving somebody else, even though you're still saving someone. And just like what you're saying about like, can he be a hero if he saves himself? It's like what he gets out of saving other people, he doesn't feel like he can get out of saving himself.

Right. I think that like what was I think maybe attractive to Rex in this like you know, uh current quest that we're on uh or trying is uh that it was so impersonal. Is that like this isn't my town, I'm doing this as a favor to Janice, I'm doing this, and then it becomes incredibly personal when it's like your person, yeah, your your physical body, beautiful uh your palm five foot eleven body is about how are you ever gonna finger your palm, guys. I think we're gonna I think we're gonna cut the fingers out. So are you are you palm leaf?

Also, Siren's perch was easy, not in terms of like physical thing, but like in terms of like the emotional there was nothing that was like self-introspective about Siren's perch.

Yeah, and then yeah, going to the Ariac of being like, oh no, this is like I'm in the fucking dungeon, you know what I mean? And this was like one that was like all these people are in a dungeon, and I'm gonna help save them from the outside, and then it's like, oh no, I'm in the dungeon again. You know, that kind of vibe. Yeah. So that's how I think Rex is taking it.

Yeah. I'm glad that one of you got something negative because if all of you got superpowers, like more superpowers on top of the extra superpowers you already have from this, I feel like that would kill the stakes.

Yeah, absolutely. I was just gonna bring that up. Like, that is one that is there, there's a couple in there that are like, could be good, could be bad. This is one of them that is not necessarily wheel or woe.

Yeah, it's for me, Chloe the player. Like, I I feel like you said something similar to the Spencer last or last week or something. But I'm like the type who like if I get a cool item in a video game, like I'm never gonna use it. Yeah. Yeah. So I'm very like, I'm so indecisive of like how I'm how Patch is gonna use this wish because Patch, my my first reaction was like, oh, I can just like get rid of the tree thing. But as I was talking, you know, Patch realizes, like, oh, but you know, this is a wish that could do anything. Um so I'm very interested to see how that affects things. I think I'm nervous to see what Patch does with it because it is a thing of like, oh, I don't want to waste it.

Like well, and also I like as soon as you initially said, Oh, well, I can just wish you you've never become a tree. It was like, there are so many ways that can go wrong. Like trying to figure out a way to shore up your wish, which is gonna be impossible, but like you're gonna screw yourself over in some way, no matter what you wish for, even if you find the right thing to wish for. Yeah. Yeah. Um, and that's gonna be interesting.

I think like I didn't want like Matt did not want you to use the wish to undo this like mechanic for Rex. And so, like, in doing that, my thing was like, I think Rex said something like, Oh, buddy, that's like awesome.

You could do that for me, but like, you know, you could like wish for so much money, yeah, you know, just to like don't you as Matt were like, please don't do that. I know, we all saw that in your eyes. That's so thoughtful. And I thought about that as well.

I was like, well, what's and then I thought about that with like I mean, it says it on the card that I can't do with the plague, but even like just thinking if it didn't say that, like I Chloe wouldn't want to use the wish to cure the plague, like that would be boring, right? Yeah, um, so it's like what wish is gonna be the most fun.

Like my my ideal situation is obviously like us as a as a foursome beat the plague. Yeah, and then you're left with this wish.

I think like but the thing, like like there's so many options because you just had this phoenix uh bamboozlement, and like you could have you could unwish that happening. There's all these things.

You know, like I think it because it's gonna go weird in a different way. Like, I want I I want you to wish that your secret had never gotten out. Like, I I think that that's really interesting, and obviously whatever feels right to you and whatever.

But I I think that that's but that's what makes me anxious, is like both as patch and as the performers. Like, I don't want to, you know, you waste it.

Today in the middle of work, I was thinking about it, um, actively not doing my job. And I was like, I'm gonna put it back because that's fun. Like, it's gonna be hard, but it's gonna be fun, whatever happens. And so I'm glad that I'm glad that it's back and I'm glad that someone got it.

It's also the most kind of like, you know, of course there's ways it can be fucked over, but in my mind, like asking for uh a hundred thousand gold is hard to monkey's paw on the way that it is. Like I know, I know, but life insurance for Nikki's death. Sarah!
