Um that's a belief I have. Um and I'm actually GoFundMe for it right now. I've got a machine.

SPEAKER_06Yeah. I think Lucy, uh, talk talk us through your we'll go, we'll go around. We'll talk about everyone's uh kind of story this episode.
SPEAKER_05Well, when you were talking about the the necklace, having to get the necklace off of um Senna for the office, that sounded like such a fun project that I was like, got it, I'll do that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Um and then it I went home and I thought about it, but I didn't know how. But I told everyone on the podcast that I had a plan.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Which was a lie.
SPEAKER_08Cool.
SPEAKER_05But I and I said that and you were like, no, no.
SPEAKER_08Well we we also said, okay, Sarah, what's your plan? And you go, I'm not telling.
SPEAKER_03No, and one time I asked and you said, I don't know, but I'll tell I'll know it when I'm there. Yes.
SPEAKER_05That was the first time. The first time was a lie. I said I had a plan. And then I told the truth and I said, I don't know actually, but I'll know when I'm there.

SPEAKER_05And then since then I thought of a plan.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_05But I didn't want to tell you because it would be more fun. Yes, for everyone. One and you want everyone to poke holes in it. But two, it's it's more fun on a you know, comedy podcast.

SPEAKER_05But then so anyway, so my so I thought that they might have had children. And so my initial plan was to threaten the children.

SPEAKER_05But not not for real, but to create to make them think that their kids were in danger. Because I was like, that will that's like the most important thing to them, so I'll get the kids running.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, absolutely. But then I like that Lucy's first step is threatening children.
SPEAKER_05Exploit the familial relationships.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, absolutely. That's in character, too.
SPEAKER_05Exactly. Um, but then they didn't have kids, but then I was like, oh, perfect, I'll just pivot to what are you looking at, Matt?
SPEAKER_03Um just something private. Yeah. Jason Alexander movies.
SPEAKER_05It's just it was distracting. I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_08I'm in. I'm locked in.
SPEAKER_05Um but then uh yeah, so then I but but I ended up having a fantastic conversation with Kedra, and turns out that she is a fun character at like And secretly lower class. And secretly lower cap class, and like saying that like the the they're like they were they're so in love that each other are their most important relationships. I was like, okay, that's fine, I'll just use her instead.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Um and you did, you use her well, like when you were like, I'm gonna stick with you. I was like, what the fuck are you planning?
SPEAKER_05Yeah, so I wasn't sure yet at that point exactly how that was gonna end or or when it would end. Um and then yeah, so then I was like, okay, I'll take her into an or I was like, should I tie her up maybe? Should I knock her out? Yeah, my one of my well, that might come this episode actually. Oh god. Because I'm not done. I don't look at that necklace.
SPEAKER_00So scary, this poor woman. So scary.
SPEAKER_03Um you also rolled a natural 20 to come to persuade her to hang out. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_06Right now you're her best friend at the party.
SPEAKER_05See, this is excellent because I also I feel like it's that's a fun um anytime Lucy is like trying to is like pretending to be somebody else, kind of, is really fun for me. Yeah. So I I have been enjoying um that. And then yeah, it was very satisfying to go behind her and on the head, um, and then like to do one of to do a little subterfuge there.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, that was that was it was a really fun plan that did not work.
SPEAKER_05So close though, but it was so risky.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, so risky. But those are the best plans. Like the best plans are the ones that like if they go south, the session is fucked.
SPEAKER_05I also right. I also wanted it to be like like you said, like if it goes south, if I and at one point I was like, if they think that that someone's attacking the wife at the party, that might completely change the party. But like, that's the kind of moves you want to make, are these like really big ones that have a lot of you know recompense.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, you sound like you're on Survivor.
SPEAKER_06Yes. Oh, yeah, you're talking you're talking about your what is it, jury resume? You're so good.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, your game, your game plan.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_03You made I made a bunch of big moves. Sometimes they didn't all work out, but I took some big big swings.

SPEAKER_08We did. I felt like it was really nice and it was it was like uh character growth for us to not that not that Rex and Janice are like at each other's throats right now, but like um it was nice.
SPEAKER_02It was just I enjoyed dancing with it was just continual friendship, and we were dance partners. I mean, we were initially planning to go find Rex a dance partner, yeah.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, and that did get edited out. That got edited out, right, Chloe?
SPEAKER_00I mean, I haven't done it yet, but yeah, it's gonna be edited out.
SPEAKER_02But well what happen what had happened was is we were initially planning, let's go to the bar to get dates, and we ran into Rattley and like got a little distracted and ended up in that drinking competition.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, and we and we learned that Ratley. Oh, yeah, we have to talk about that. But we did learn that Rattley is not in in really in cahoots with Senna, right, but more so going to try to exploit the information that he has found to try to get money for the guild of um what's the word? Merchants guess. Merchants, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02I was gonna say Mark He's not a good guy, but he's not evil. Yeah, he's out for his own gain.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, yeah, yeah. And so yeah, so we we learned valuable information there so that he's not he's not one of the big bads.
SPEAKER_05You also convinced him of his like to change his vote.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_06Yeah, you guys currently have three votes possibly in your favor if everything goes according to plan.

SPEAKER_05That was crazy because everyone else had fine drinks, and then I, who didn't actually have to play.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, Sarah was like, I'm so glad I'm not over there because I don't want to do this. And then everyone was fine with their drinks, and Sarah was like, I guess I'll try one.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, gross. The gross, so disgusting. Curdled milk. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. I uh I I got uh home and I was telling my girlfriend about what happened, and she was like, Why didn't you just use like pickle juice? Yeah, that's just exactly what we saw. Same thing you guys said, and you're right, you're just right. I trusted that flavors would be bad enough. Oh, yeah. But they turned out to be perfectly fine.
SPEAKER_03You underestimated the power of sugar. Yes.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, it turns out if you put two sweet things together, it's just gonna remain sweet.
SPEAKER_05It's like putting all of the Skittles in your mouth at the same time.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I was like, that's disgusting. Because, like for me, if that happened to me, I would be like, get it out of my mouth. I hate this.
SPEAKER_05But even your mixed drink, you were fine with.
SPEAKER_06I was fine with, yeah. No, it it it it it is an egg on my face, tiny L for me.
SPEAKER_05No, but like a little, just like a little fun L. Just a little bit of an egg. Like a quail's egg, maybe.

SPEAKER_03It was thick. I put my finger in it. It was kind of like throwback to the cat in the hat movie. It was like the purple goop that comes out of that machine. Yeah. It's in the cross world. Yeah, it looked like a blood clot.

SPEAKER_06The other day I ordered uh egg cream at a at a restaurant, and I ordered a strawberry egg cream, and the guy brought out chocolate, and I was out to dinner with a friend, and I was like, Oh, thank you. And the friend was like, I'm sorry. He ordered strawberry, and I was like, Oh my god.
SPEAKER_08I'm sorry, you're getting an egg cream at night? Yeah.
SPEAKER_03What is an egg cream? To go with your strawberry. Like chocolate milk and soda water, I think.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_08Yeah.
SPEAKER_06It was good.
SPEAKER_03It's like a New York classic. Yeah, it's a good thing. I've never had this. But why do they call it an egg cream? I don't know. I don't know.
SPEAKER_08Catus Deli has them. I think they're really good.

SPEAKER_05So strawberry milk and soda water? I think it's traditionally chocolate milk.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Well, there's strawberry milk, chocolate milk, regular milk. Or with vanilla syrup.
SPEAKER_08It tastes like a watered-down milkshake in like the nicest way possible. It tastes like a zatty milkshake.
SPEAKER_03But then it used to have egg in it. Like I assume maybe they used to put egg in it because it's a good thing.
SPEAKER_08It's like a like an eggnogy thing. Um but Spencer, I was gonna say, you give such big malt energy. Yeah. Like you're gonna go get a malt somewhere.

It was very fun. I'm glad you guys liked that. I I came in before the session with a mysterious bag, and I was like, Shane, do you have vessels for drinks? Um I attended to my dark business. My tintures.

SPEAKER_06Shane, after the session, said something about the her wearing a bunny mask that I think would be cool if he said again. Yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_03Chloe, the initial reactions. The initial reactions was meeting meeting Alice. Because Spencer has asked me before, Ellen, would Patch ever want like a girlfriend?
SPEAKER_06Is that your impression of me?
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Um spot on.
SPEAKER_03And I think I don't know, it's Errant, but you know, Patch's Patch doesn't really care about that, but like if he met he she would have to be like his perfect match. So upon running into a person who was very immediate, there was some sort of like vibe vibe. After Patch vibe with that because Patch is a narcissist.
SPEAKER_06Well, it's because he's let's break it down.
SPEAKER_03I mean, I think he means someone as socially inept as him. Totally. Um but he caught a full wipe. Um, so Chloe the performer was thinking, okay, you know. Yeah. Chloe the performer is of course thinking like all the bad things that this could be.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Um, but I don't think Patch really Patch was too in a different way. Patch was too, but Patch was also kind of, I think, oblivious at first as to what was going on. I think it was surprising for him. He went and conferred with his boys. Um and Lucy, like in a quick Well, I was I was listening to it, and it was kind of sad because he tried to talk to Lucy. I know. And then, but she was talking to her new friend.
SPEAKER_06Um Lucy leaves the party to hang out with Cadra.
SPEAKER_05I mean, she's really cool.
SPEAKER_03I like her a lot. Have good chat. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It was just it was definitely suspicious how well it was going. Um yeah, I don't think I don't know what Patch was expecting.

SPEAKER_03Um But I I think Patch's biggest. I think Patch Patch's biggest fear was that it was like someone from the bank. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06He was like, this is gonna be, you know, yeah, a collection bank. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Um but yeah, I don't think I Chloe was, I told you, was thinking like, oh, I think this is gonna be like Calidaeus' daughter, like some like, you know, unbound plague person. Um and all the rest of us, y'all are freaking out, you know, and I was like, oh, I know what they think, but let's let's keep going. Yeah you know, it's probably you know, it's not I I knew it wouldn't be fun. The reel wouldn't be as impactful if I let myself go down that train of thought. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_06I like, I like, I like how it happened, and I like I am so excited that you started the episode by being like, yeah, I dressed as a rabbit as a kid.

Basically was freedom. Which just kind of Which is what Patch gave the bunny. Which is what Patch gave the bunny because Patch freed the bunny.

SPEAKER_02And so it's very beautiful. And I hope I've also been watching a lot of One Piece because the new episode started dropping. Like, then I've been very anti Oh yeah, we've been we were like looking at each other going, Phoenix. Yeah, and it's like what yeah, and I mean I think I mean I said this, but I think as a as a listener, as someone who um like is a fan of this podcast, like I think having uh Phoenix and Patch Patch's relationship is so narratively interesting to me. SPEAKER_06I think I think so much of Patch's deal is like he's not a trickster for trickery. Like he's not like he's not just like causing shit to cause shit. Like he's not like an agent of chaos, but he is a guy who will like he'll lie to get what he needs.

SPEAKER_06Like that's the main thing with Patch. Yeah, and that's something that uh like I almost said is Alice, but didn't want to like give away who she was yet, was like you lie to yourself so much.
SPEAKER_05Um Yeah, I think Patch is so uh tightly bound like to himself, like he he's trying really hard to um be a good person and like walk the path that like throwing chaos into that is really satisfying to see him have to deal with someone who like is not that self-contained or that um self-restrained is very satisfying.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it's you know, like Rex turning into a tree or you know Janus', you know, anything else.
SPEAKER_02Like I feel like this is Patch's thing to be like Yeah, I mean I'm excited to see the growth in how Phoenix being in match the tree or in Rex's tree. A little bit chaotic.

SPEAKER_06Um, but like I knew that Phoenix was gonna be Patches, but I was like, I don't Phoenix is the god of deception. I want it, I don't want him to just be like, by the way, I'm your patron. Yes. Um at which point I think now we can kind of safely all assume like I'm gonna need you to do something for me.
SPEAKER_03Like, you know, there's I'm not assuming I'm not Patch is still like it could be anything.
SPEAKER_02Right, but those of us at the table right now, uh, which does not include Patch or Yeah, we know.
SPEAKER_06I was I was really anxious to like I I wanted Phoenix to like lie to you about who he was. Um but after like that time that like it that it was him pretending to be clothed. Yeah um Wait, what? Right?

SPEAKER_02I love it. I think I mean that's that's kind of how I set her up. I was like, and so I was like, yes. Uh they're both they're both competitive, they both uh have very similar goals, and then they uh through that sort of like find conflict through like trying like if they both want to be number one, they can't both be number one.

SPEAKER_02Uh so I think Janice definitely has a um a respect, a love, and a hate for Midas all at the same time.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Um of like there's a jealousy, but there's also like a rivalry, but there's also like they you know spent a lot of time together in high school because they had so many of the same pursuits. There is an underlying friendship. Yeah, and I think they also love to hate each other. So um it's a very fun dynamic to have to just like play with, to be like, I can say something nice and that's in character, I can say something mean and that's in character. Yeah, like it's there's just such a big playground with Midas.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I'm I'm ex I'm excited about her. I don't know if she'll be relevant out after this party, but she might, and I these are fun character.
SPEAKER_02You made her you made her an Oracle, so uh she could come back if that god ever comes up again.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, that conversation was very fun about like her relationship with her god versus his relationship with her.
SPEAKER_02That was funny, where it's just like she has such she's the only one we've met so far who has like a good, uncomplicated relationship.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, and just like she just has like cool lightning powers. Yeah, that that's a cool god because like um he's the god of wisdom in storms because insight strikes you like lightning, like it just kind of happens. And that's from that's from the like these gods come from the like the Theros world. Yeah, um, that's from that, and I I think that that's such a cool concept.

SPEAKER_06Um cool, and then Caladey. So you also talked briefly at Caladane.
SPEAKER_03You know, she's obsessed with us because she kept coming up to us and trying to talk shit.

SPEAKER_06You you big leagued the shit out of her. And I was like, Georgiana was gonna be an easier person to convince to vote for you because that was the point of the side quest. Was like anyone whose quest you complete, they're like they like you more.
SPEAKER_03Because we freed their soldiers, yeah.
SPEAKER_08Genuinely had completely forgotten that we had done that or that she was related to it. Excellent. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that was a real Baldur's Gate moment. It was like a ching. Yeah.

There was a world in which, because you guys first like walked in in the middle of a council meeting, in which I made it known, or like that they were they were voting on an Area X8 package. So there was like a world in which you guys in that moment are like, we need to stop this. Right. We need to talk to people and see what we can do to convince them. And then everyone would have been like, and here's my side quest.

SPEAKER_06I I uh so then you guys, you own Caladeus, you all reconvened. I liked that you guys spent almost the entire episode like apart or in little groups, and then at the very end you came together and literally sat on each other's shoulders. Literally.
SPEAKER_03I'm so glad that worked.
SPEAKER_06That was crazy. I was like, there's no way this is gonna work.
SPEAKER_03Because I kept saying it like kind of as a joke, just because I wanted us to do it in fall.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Um, but no, we were we're all strong.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Yeah. It it was we all rolled really well. Yeah, you all rolled really well.
SPEAKER_05And I think we like played the who has what advantage well so that we were able to like maximize the role.
SPEAKER_02There was a very gamey component. It wasn't just random, it was like it was like what order are we going in? Yeah, what abilities do we have to up this?
SPEAKER_06Yeah, absolutely. And I I think part of the what to me is like fun about this arc uh is just encouraging the teamwork, I think, because you know the party has had like interparty conflicts and like stuff like that. Yeah. And I think I'm trying to, in the mechanics of this arc and in the story, like with Whisper and them who like didn't work together and fell apart, highlight the amount to which you guys do successfully work together, you know.

SPEAKER_02This party is secretly a team building conference, it's a it's uh off site.

SPEAKER_08I really liked um Shane when you went outside to gas guidance on yourself.
SPEAKER_06Yes, oh my gosh, that was so funny. Yes, yeah, that was that was really fun. Um and oh, and I mean not to go backwards, but Patch sitting alone in the garden playing his panpipes. Yeah, yeah, that was a beautiful image that was so sad. I've I felt so guilty.
SPEAKER_05I think it's such a it is it's such a testament to the story that it was so tender, like that the fact that it felt really sad for us. We care about Patch so much. Yeah, we your acting was so good that we wanted this to work out because you were so awkward, and because like we love to see yeah awkward love like bloom like that. Yeah. And so I feel like it was so good, but it it did hurt for real. Yeah, I think in a way that I think is important. It makes the I was happy to happiness shine brighter.
SPEAKER_03I was happy to be able to give Patch that moment. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06And I I think like all of the characters, um, you know, when we think of where they started and where they are now, like they've experienced such a range of emotions. We know so much more about them, not just like factually, but just like they feel so much more real, uh, in a way that's like, yeah. Like Patch in the beginning was like, Yeah, I'm like a gamer. Yeah. And now he's just a cute little guy. Yeah.
SPEAKER_08Um, I have to say, Chloe, I think you win the Oscar for this episode in just in so many ways. The also, not only like the dramatic part of being sad, Patch, but also being nervous, Patch was so funny. The monologue was great.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_08It was so good. Yeah, and when talking with Alice as well, a bit of good. I mean it you know, Torky Pig, like, yeah.
