The cast talks about plague at the party and juicy reveals.

SPEAKER_04

Welcome back to the talk back, ladies and gentlemen. We've been here the whole time.

SPEAKER_01

Escape the party.

SPEAKER_04

Escape the party.

unknown

Ah.

SPEAKER_04

Which you guys successfully did.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

We did. Irish I did. We're so tired.

SPEAKER_02

I won like uh this the the couple past couple episodes were lead up to this battle, and then this episode was like combat. I was not yeah, I was not prepared. Like a big old chunk.

SPEAKER_04

Earlier in the week, you guys texted me and were like, please, please, can you give us a little shred of combat? I said yes. I don't think we did that. You all were like, please, we need a brutal combat. This is a lot. Matt? This is a lot. I swear.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, Matt, did you text me?

SPEAKER_03

I didn't know.

SPEAKER_04

Matt did. Last night in the middle of the night, Matt sent me a text. No, no, no.

SPEAKER_03

I like walking around and frolicking.

SPEAKER_01

It was a we were all just punch and plague. Yeah, I didn't want to do that.

SPEAKER_02

This was a fun combat in um, I liked the other mechanic of us getting to pull NPCs.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And then having like that was a lot of effort that you put into that, Spencer, of like what each person because there were options. It wasn't just like you pick notice and it it does this. It was like you could pick one of in some cases six different things to happen.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Um, and it was very fun. And then I really enjoyed the tense um suspense of each of us pulling to see whether that person got the plague or not.

SPEAKER_04

I've had by my screen, the tokens for I don't know if you guys have seen when I'm setting up me lay out the tokens because I've had these tokens for weeks. Really? Because I thought the party might take one session with the plague attack, which was wrong. Silly Spencer. Totally wrong. I was like, this is gonna be one session.

SPEAKER_03

No, we shoot it. You don't know us at all.

SPEAKER_06

Um this gate this reminded me going on a tangent? It reminded me a lot of the Kuwa Toa helping us as we were going on bio ship.

SPEAKER_02

It's exactly, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I love fun because actually trying to deal with from a DM's perspective, actually trying to deal with a bunch of NPCs and like, yeah, is this person a combatant?

SPEAKER_04

Are they just a well we saw we saw it in the arena fight where like there were so many NPCs, everyone had an initiative turn, and it was just like I don't as a player, I don't like DND or as a DM, I don't like D D when it's just like the DM being like, and then so and so goes, I'm cool too. Like yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Um and then I also really liked, not to cut you off, um uh the kind of dual purpose or dual goals of the portal and attacking the plague. Yeah. So then it w there was a little bit of uh and in that same way of like you guys balance that really well. People, yeah, some people were like some NPCs were focused on that, so they were taken care of. Yeah, and then I liked the um creeping plague, like as that happened, like more and more people were at risk. Um, and then yeah, as a as a sorcerer, it was it like meant made sense for me to be just giving my spell slots as much as I could, which made me feel like okay, this is my special thing that I can do for the group. And then we each have different things we can do.

SPEAKER_04

You all balanced really well because like the the point of the encounter was if you guys had focused entirely on ramping the portal, you would have like people would have been falling all around you because the plague would have been mostly X's in the bag. Yeah. Um, if you guys had just damaged the plague, then the portal would take forever. I I I'll share with you guys now the chart I was using. These were the damage thresholds. Um so if you had had to last 10 rounds, the plague would have had each threshold would have been 200. Oh wow. So you would have had to deal 200 damage to turn an X into a check mark. Um, which is why it's like you kind of just have to do both. Yeah. Um because at the end it was like if you had gotten if it gets Ebenezer, yeah, who's like working on it, like you'll have to figure out something else.

SPEAKER_01

It would be like a leave the front door.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah, we could have just this uh creature, this specific variety of plague. Do you guys want to hear what I called it? Yeah, yeah. The plague hydra. Ooh, that's how it felt.

SPEAKER_03

That's yeah, that's very much how it felt. I felt like I was in like a sandstorm.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Yeah. And especially by the end, like that round where like all of your NPC allies almost dropped was like, oh shit, it's happening.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, I knew from that first round when the plague hit us all for like 25 damage. I was like, oh, this is gonna be like, we need to get this thing taken care of.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah. But you guys, you guys dished out crazy damage. And that's with like bonuses for the combat because like some of these thresholds are crazy. Like the last if it had gone 11 or 12 rounds, which is what it would have done if Ebenezer fell and it was like one threshold would have been 500 hit, but like like impossible to get. Like it would have been truly a we have to get the fuck out of here situation. Wow. Um, but you guys were very strategic um and had some lovely moments, including Rex.

SPEAKER_03

Rex, you got your sword. I did get your sword. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

I'm stoked about that sword. Yeah, no, I mean, um, because Rex has been carrying around Black Razor for a while, and it really is not the the mechanic of getting tight HP and then but getting rage is um is fun, but also like it kind of sucks.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Um it's a downside, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

But then you know, having the opposite, like something I've told Spencer is like, you know, I really like one of the reasons why I wanted to go towards like a warlock is because like Rex is doesn't understand magic, and like I I think the warlock made a lot of sense for him. Um but to have now a sword that heals his allies instead of um you know healing himself or like it's kind of almost like a fake healing because it's temporary hit points, yeah, which is like the metaphor, you know.

SPEAKER_04

Absolutely like first came to me and were like, I want to be take some warlock levels. I just nakedly assumed like warlock, oh bad guy, you want like temptation of Mogus through warlock levels. And then I talked to you, I was like, Yeah, so generally this is what I'd be thinking for that. And you were like, No, no, I want to be like a warlock for good, like a like an Irawaz warlock, which is I think way cooler. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, for sure. Because I think that that's the the temptation is I I guess for him to deal with that grief of his like mother dying and like deal with um sort of the this identity that he's assumed ever since he went to college, like seven years ago or however long he's been in college, of being like, I'm this badass guy, um, I don't care about nothing, to then being like, oh no, you're you're maybe you do care about a lot of things.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. You care, yeah. You your caring is your superpower. Um sword powered by caring.

SPEAKER_03

Oh yeah, no, this is this is there was a time when uh uh Spencer said that the magic of love didn't count.

SPEAKER_06

That's true, and now it does. It's well it's friendship.

SPEAKER_03

Well, we've learned that it's fire damage. Friendship is like damage.

SPEAKER_04

Friendship is radiant damage. Yeah, major after this arc, no way radiant damage can ever be as important as it is right now. Like that you guys going supernova with the radiant and fire damage is really funny to watch.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, but also like it took us a while to figure, not figure it out, but like to get those skills. Like I agree. I could have popped off the the guardian's spell at any time, but it's like once per long rest.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

And it's also like a meaningful one, you know. Yeah, yeah. Um, but I I felt really cool doing that. Oh well, first I'll say I did feel like kind of taken out of it because I did like level up during like one or two of the turns and trying to like D D Beyond and I are just we don't speak the same language.

SPEAKER_04

That's that's that's why when we were talking, I was like, make sure you have the next level prepared so you can like click a button. But with DD Beyond, it's hard to remember all the stuff.

SPEAKER_06

Right. Well, I I did have it saved, and so I was able to go in and look at what spells I had picked and that saved so much time. That's right. It did save time, but then I was like, how do I even do the spells and how do I do the HP? No, that means I mean that makes total sense. Um, and then I was like, you know, it was helpful that like Black Razor and Windraiser have the same sort of like benefits in terms of mechanically in the game of like being a plus one sword, because I just kept rolling Black Razor because I cannot figure out how to do a custom item for my life right now.

SPEAKER_04

I'll I'll make I'll make one for you for Windraiser. Um I'll also say that like both of these are things that I like it when characters have magic items that are like their thing and that like level up with them. And so probably both of these will like grow and develop with you.

SPEAKER_06

But like, yeah. Um The other thing I wanted to say was, yeah, it's like it's really cool. It's been like a long time coming of like like wanting to go down this path. Like I wanted to do like the last leveling. I was like, you were like you wait a little bit and I was like, yeah, um, which was cool because I do think it was a thematic moment. I don't think I played it as sincere as I should have. I think you did. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I think it was more like jokey, but I don't think it was not as emotional as the the other times when I guess, you know, I think I also think that it's a different kind of like it's not it uh like you can the one with your mom, like that like the first guardian, like that, that was like the first opening up of those emotions and those feelings.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And I feel like you you can't have that thing every time. Exactly. And so to get the sword is like I think it works well for Rex because Rex would be just excited to have this sword. So like first is like this is so cool. Like I feel like it has that jokey moment, and then it makes also character sense that the realizing what that means emotionally, or realizing like the actual Aeroas Mogus uh balancing act, like that's a secondary wave of hit or of discovery of emotion. So I feel like you it's okay that that's taking a little bit longer in a different path.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, for sure. Yeah. Um but yeah, I mean I'm super stoked uh to to start going down this path and like to actually try to um you know, it's kind of like me as a DD player starting as a fighter, as someone who hadn't played a lot of DD, um, to now like branch out into more of the spell stuff and and try to uh you know just broaden that knowledge and that um just experience.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, and you're doing a great job with the back. Thank you, thank you. And we've got the question of what the fuck's going on with your back. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Shingles.

SPEAKER_05

I don't yeah, it's I think it's shingles.

SPEAKER_04

I think I thought when I was in a labyrinth. If you guys guess it, should we cut it out of the talk back? If it was shingles, because it was shingles. Should we cut it out of the talkback?

SPEAKER_03

No, because the audience needs to know.

SPEAKER_02

The audience doesn't know what what in-game shingles means. That's true. It can mean something else.

SPEAKER_04

In Elspar shingles are roofing implements. Yeah. What? Roofing implements. Yeah, and in real life they're not, they're something else entirely on your body.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, no, I mean, I think I think that's fun because I do think it it it's not like Rex is I I mean, I assume it is it's obviously something to do with Mogus or you know, uh whatever. But I think it's fun to have this uh almost uh like it's physical pain of being like whether it gives me you know damage or not. I don't know yet. But like to have that in as a as a physical reminder of it causes you pain or it causes you some sort of discomfort to do the right thing, yeah, you know, to be selfless. Yeah, you have to take it. Um but yeah, I mean at least we got those friendship bracelets. Those were very helpful today.

SPEAKER_02

And we and back and forth. Like that was so cool. The fact that it like ended up being that worked reciprocally.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I I there's no there there are there are a few bigger treats as a DM than coming up with some like jank ass magic item and seeing it used successfully, that feels good. So I'm I'm really glad that you guys got uh got to get those.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, it was our first time using it. Yeah, it was funny. Yeah, it was cool.

SPEAKER_02

I also uh again like learning developing as a player, like like kind of finally being like, oh, that's why you want different kinds of damage. Where I was like actually looking through like, okay, which spells do which kinds of damage, and like, oh, I can change my shocking grass now that I'm level six or whatever to be different types of damage. I was like, oh nerd. Yeah, I was like, this is I'm oh understanding this.

SPEAKER_04

Major, major compliment to thinking of the air bubble. Yes. Oh, that's something I forgot I gave you, and then I created an airborne plague like a dumbass.

SPEAKER_03

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, none of us thought of it.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, we all Yeah, I mean, and and it was so funny. Sarah thought of it in an instant. Yes.

SPEAKER_03

Like you told us that it wasn't You like walked in and were like, this is what I'm gonna do.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, you that you told us that it wasn't something you've been like thinking about.

SPEAKER_02

You were just like truly in that exact moment when I forget.

SPEAKER_04

I think it was like you said you said like I'm not gonna get the plague, and I was like, How are you not gonna get the plague? And you were just like thought about it for a second, you were like the bubble.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and it kicked me in the moment that I said it.

SPEAKER_04

It was it was so smart, and one of those again, uh like a moment that you really I feel like want is a DM, which is you gave your players something with a very specific use case in mind, and then they're like, I've got some other shit for you. Oh, and I like that.

SPEAKER_02

And getting the the sword for Rex. Yeah, yes, like knowing exactly exactly how we could.

SPEAKER_01

Which looks like Sena's not gonna wake up, so I guess she's not gonna ask for the sword. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

I mean, I'm attuned with it now.

SPEAKER_02

There's no way she was expecting like you know, I think she's expecting it.

SPEAKER_00

I think she was expecting it back for real.

SPEAKER_02

But but okay, we have another conversation that's just like, oh, do you actually know when it would be even you know what's actually cooler than having the sword in your possession? Is having the sword, but it's being loaned out to someone to being being used.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

That's even cooler. I rolled another 26 month persuasion. She's like, yeah, no problem.

SPEAKER_06

I think that's great. I think also there is some now that you know Spencer introduced the idea that there are facsimiles of these, like, you don't know if this is a real one or not. Maybe we could get like, I'm sure, like maybe Smidas or someone knows a blacksmith that could create a replica of it that we could give to her.

SPEAKER_03

Maybe it is the replica and that's what's hurting you. I think I could I was almost when it's a patch. I think I could probably make a replica. Hell yeah.

SPEAKER_04

And then you sell it for 1.2 million gold because I put my foot in my mouth.

SPEAKER_02

Maybe it's a like, you know, it's tainted because it hurt, it still hurts you.

SPEAKER_06

I mean, I or it could have been the magic in me all along, you know.

SPEAKER_01

I think your soul's getting fought over. Like because like when I think of a fissure, I'm like, like it's either like a tectonic plate, like two forces like breaking apart, or like a tear. Like, I think something's fighting over you.

SPEAKER_02

Absolutely. Yeah, your body's a battlefield.

SPEAKER_03

You're gonna have two xenomorphs pop out of you. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

I know, I'm and one of them's gonna be a bull, the other one's gonna be a centaur.

SPEAKER_02

Is it a subductive uh fault, or is it a yeah?

SPEAKER_01

You've you've passed me.

SPEAKER_02

The different tectonic faults, right?

SPEAKER_01

Yes. Um it's not your fault.

SPEAKER_04

Hey, nice, nice one close. You're right. That's awesome. Yeah. Um rocking it. How do you feel about these NPCs possibly not waking up, at least for the time?

SPEAKER_03

I feel bad about Georgiana.

SPEAKER_01

I feel bad about Georgiana and Midas, obviously.

SPEAKER_02

I just feel like we're in the end game. Yeah. So it's like, yeah, it makes sense that it's ramping up. It makes sense that I feel like we're about to solve it, so they're gonna be fine. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. Yeah. I think as long as Ebenezer Bones is alive, you know, like I can keep going.

SPEAKER_04

I think I'm I'm glad Pithia I was I didn't expect Pythia to make it. Like I expected Pythia. You guys dealt so much damage um that last round. Like you guys went really supernova, and that was you guys absolutely saved her because of Janice's radiance, yes. Yeah.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So Georgiana and Senna never had a chance. Yeah. Because they were the first two layers. Yeah. I was impressed Senna was doing anything. I was like, I was like, oh, she's casting spells and putting up a ward. Good for her.

SPEAKER_04

I thought about like my in my original conception of the party, I think Senna's action during the combat was gonna be like trying to get people just like ignore it, ignore it, just back to you know, like and I was like, that is especially after the conversation, like after like the interactions Lucy's had with her, I was like, truly any ire I had for Senna, like is a bat, like I now like her. Yeah, and I was like, I don't, I don't want to make it like a you know, she was already kind of a secondary antagonist, yes, in terms of just like circumstances, yeah. Not so much yeah, I was like, this is just too much. Let's just yeah. So I'm glad I'm glad that went like that.

SPEAKER_06

Um, I don't know if there's more that we want to talk about, but I I mean I definitely would love to talk for a few minutes about like Trioctus and how involved he really is.

SPEAKER_01

This is interesting because he did seem really concerned about whether or not we thought he caused this.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I didn't get that. What does that mean? And then disappear.

SPEAKER_01

And it was like, why would he think like one? Why does he care if we think he's involved?

SPEAKER_03

Two I I think you're involved now because you're why would you then say that and then disappear?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Much like that.

SPEAKER_02

Right, and I don't know what he wanted to hear. I don't know if he wanted to hear no, we don't think you're involved, or yes, we do think you're involved. Yeah, you know, like it it I I didn't know what the right answer would be.

SPEAKER_06

It gave it gave the energy of someone who is not involved.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_06

Being like, Oh, do you think I'm you really think I'm part of this?

SPEAKER_02

And if you think I'm part part of this, then screw you. I'm gonna actually screw you over if you think ill of me. Yeah, maybe he's how it's felt.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that's not very honorable if that's his real thing, though.

SPEAKER_02

Which is why the the the the then like the Minotaur. It gives you yeah, you put the the eye back on the minotaur.

SPEAKER_06

But also, I mean, if he I at the very least, he's not doing a good job at whatever he's trying to do.

SPEAKER_04

Like I mean, if his whole deal is honor and he sees the plague coming and he disappears, that's fucked up.

SPEAKER_03

Is his whole deal honor?

SPEAKER_04

That's I never his stated deal, like that's yeah, that's how he comports himself.

SPEAKER_02

But I didn't hear that.

SPEAKER_04

Um, I mean show don't tell.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

As a possible antagonist, what do you guys think of Trioctus?

SPEAKER_03

Patch still Patch still feels for him. Yeah, I mean, I really don't like him.

SPEAKER_01

He's got like it's like it's always nice to have a bad guy with a with a valid motive. Uh and like and and I understand Callius and Eurifon as well, uh, because they were also dicked around for however many years. Um, but Callidaeus is the worst.

SPEAKER_03

Uh and Trioctus, I'm like, yeah, Callidaeus and Eurifon don't have to bring everyone else into their leaf. Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Well, and right, that's that uh like if if everyone else suffers, then I'll feel better. But that never isn't that never works.

SPEAKER_04

Speaking of Calidaeus, um Callidaeus knows who you are.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that was crazy. Yeah, that was crazy. I thought that the last time we talked to her, but it wasn't for sure.

SPEAKER_04

And then now she confirmed it. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

That again, that made like And who knows, who knows if she knew at that point?

SPEAKER_04

She might have not known at that point and know now.

SPEAKER_02

Like it's about how she found out.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, your reaction.

SPEAKER_02

But anytime Spencer does one of those ask your mothers or whatever.

SPEAKER_04

Any of those gotchas about your family. Gotcha.

SPEAKER_02

It tr I truly feel them in my core, and it truly stuns me for a second, and I don't know what to say. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Why don't you go ask your cousin?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. It is funny how much the same energy it is as the last time of like ask your father.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, but it's it's effective every time. It is. Don't know how to do it. How it is. Um I was I was happy I could turn Clanky into a little fireball.

SPEAKER_04

That was really cool.

SPEAKER_03

A little toaster oven. Yeah. That was fun.

SPEAKER_04

I liked that.

SPEAKER_03

A fun use of my new spell. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, clever.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. And now you guys are gonna be so you you also learned that um possibly it's the military disappearing these people.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_03

Oh yeah, yeah, that was crazy.

SPEAKER_01

That was thank you for dropping that big ass hint for us. Yeah, you were dropping.

SPEAKER_04

Truly, I think it's the type of thing where you guys would have figured it out later this week in your group chat. Yeah. And I was like, I want it to happen on air. Yeah. And I also was like, I feel like if the audience has because like audience versus player, like you know, at at the table, sometimes it's harder to see.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I didn't get it until Shane said it, even after you gave a hint.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, no, I mean exactly. Like it's one of those things where it's like definitely helpful, just a reminder that people disappear. Right. Is all I gave.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Yeah. When you said that, I was like, oh my gosh, Cersei's already went to the other plane. No, and the whole thing with actually the whole thing with the catacombs.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, that was there have been catacombs that's hold up.

SPEAKER_04

But you know, it's just like where you buried people.

SPEAKER_03

Like the secret underground tunnel where no one can see from the ground and hide a bunch of people.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. Well, we did get to oh, they're taking the people with boons on arrow.

SPEAKER_02

Right. The people who haven't died or had bad things happen to them. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So it was a hair I can grab that. So then the little So then the little the little push over the edge of like, and people have been disappearing who nothing bad happened to, and it's like they're taking all of them. Yes. They've got everyone.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, which is a really uh again, like satisfying um explanation for the plague. Yes. Of like, okay, if there's this m this thing that can give people powers, but half of them will die, but half of them might have powers that could be helpful for us to build an army or to find a wish or to find something else specific, maybe we don't know. Yeah. Um but like that's very cool.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, and it's also right up Janice's alley on like half bad, half good. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

And that's Triarctus's whole deal is what are you willing to sacrifice? Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

And now we're gonna miss the impossible drop into the top top of the tower.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I know. That's so cool. I I don't want you to give us any hints about what I don't even yeah, I've got some fun things.

SPEAKER_04

I the tower.

SPEAKER_02

I don't want to know that it's I've been so excited to get to that tower.

SPEAKER_04

I I've also been excited to get to that tower, and I've been like the tower is so much simpler than a masquerade because it's just like okay, it's you guys and a room.

SPEAKER_01

It's a true dungeon crawler for the tower.

SPEAKER_04

It's it's nice to get to something where it's like I can draw a map.

SPEAKER_02

Back to We love a Spencer map. Those are so poorly. Those are like the bank giving to me all day.

SPEAKER_03

Abstract. Yes. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Abstract. Um Lewis and Clark actually invented cubism.

SPEAKER_03

Um that's why uh Colorado is a square.

SPEAKER_06

It was Sakagawea, but they took crap. Sakawea.

SPEAKER_04

You say saka kakuawaya?

SPEAKER_06

I said Sakagawea, which is the actual pronunciation. Of Sakagawea? Yeah. Really? Yeah. Interesting.

SPEAKER_01

Matt knows because he thought for much of his life that he was Native American. Yeah. Speak otherwise.

SPEAKER_06

Well, I haven't done my DNA test yet, but my parents have.

SPEAKER_03

Well, your cousin. My parents.

SPEAKER_06

Uh, but what was I gonna say? Oh, I mean, I do feel like I called that. I don't know if Dyer End is where is under the thing, but I was like, what's under the I don't know if Dyer's End is where we're at, though. I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

I think it might be farther than.

SPEAKER_06

But I do see, I do see.

SPEAKER_03

You said it was like an underground parallel upside down. But the dire's end one might be.

SPEAKER_04

One thing you guys like when you saw um uh the the like footage of King Lycus in what you believe to be Dyer's End. You saw like a window. Like there was like sky. Got it. Sky underground.

SPEAKER_01

I think it's I think it's a scary border tower in a different place.

SPEAKER_06

I'll take I'll take it that it's not dire end. But it is, but it I did think it was underground.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, you you you yeah, something's underground. The catacombs.

SPEAKER_02

Oh yeah, there's catacombs. Where but why like yeah, it's just like that's where that's where dead people go. It was just satisfying. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And that's now also the prison for the for all the alive people. Maybe.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Who knows?

SPEAKER_04

Who knows what's in the catacombs?

SPEAKER_02

You know what I think? I think that we need to take a work trip to Paris.

SPEAKER_00

Catacomb research.

SPEAKER_02

And I have seen such a bone work trips that we get to hide off for on the taxes.

SPEAKER_03

They're very scary, spooky. There's a lot of this small.

SPEAKER_04

I'm it's very clusterful.

SPEAKER_03

I don't want to see Silas in the catacombs. I hope he's not there. I'm there.

SPEAKER_02

Wait, we that's what we learned from Titus.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that's right.

SPEAKER_02

We have a lead on where that's what was exciting.

SPEAKER_01

We got a lead. I but like like little bud for next arc. If they're like, if Titus and Nikki come back and is like, we found Silas and you all have to plane hop. I'm gonna be like, hell yeah. Yeah, dimension hoppers. I'm like super excited if that's if that's a little like that was preview or foreshadowing.

SPEAKER_06

I do think that that is the next arc that Spencer very definitely like you know, just like breadcrumb dust because I feel like that's it. When I pressed him on when you called, like I think that's the next thing that we're gonna do is that probably at the end of this arc, they're gonna know we know he's going to this seal and this place wherever it is, and then we'll go there. Yeah, that's my thought.

SPEAKER_03

We'll see. I had no idea what was gonna be. We're going inner planar.

SPEAKER_04

There's uh definitely I I want to go inner planar at some point. Um, we'll see if it's the next arc or one after that, or who knows? Planar fresh the item. Pretty cool.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I'm excited to level up. Yeah. Yeah. I'm really excited.

SPEAKER_04

You guys haven't leveled up in a while.

SPEAKER_02

It's been like I have no idea. Time doesn't exist for me.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, cool. Cool. I mean, in in-game it's been probably a day, but uh you guys leveled up at the end of the interlude, right? Oh yeah. So it was on your way into Plutopolis. So that means it's been like five episodes or something.

SPEAKER_03

Um the interlude? Yeah. Patch's new thing that he gets as an artificer is he gets to add as a reaction uh uh I think it's a D it's I think it's four, just four to a failed role.

SPEAKER_04

That's great. That's cool.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, that's nice.

SPEAKER_04

I'm I have to say, just on the subject of interludes, I've recently come up with the plot for the next interlude. Oh I'm so excited. Oh my gosh. I'm now I'm excited.

SPEAKER_03

Give us a one-word hint.

SPEAKER_06

Um I think I know. I will- What do you think it is? I we had talked about it, or I had pitched something to you and you were like, oh, I thought about that once, but I'm not gonna do it. But it was like death on a n on the Nile.

SPEAKER_04

I I will say that is still something that is on my list that I want to do. Okay, cool. Um, but uh one let me think of a one-word um hint. Hint.

SPEAKER_02

What is it like non-spoiler spoilers? Yeah, out of context spoilers or whatever.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. The word is Nile. Thank you, Sarah. The word is trap. Sarah's always got my bag. Everyone at home, I just want to do it.

SPEAKER_03

We did improv.

SPEAKER_01

We've done we've done theater, like classic theater, we've done uh like the trapped in the mountains trope. Yeah, like a vaudeville. Yeah, you're gonna give us a few.

SPEAKER_04

It's gonna be another type of performance. There's always some type of performance and there's death.

SPEAKER_03

Dance, dance, dance, ballet.

SPEAKER_04

I'm not going to tell you. Maybe because that would give away the whole thing. Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Stand up. It's not going to be stand-up. Um trades.

SPEAKER_06

Oh man, we all have to do a tight five.

SPEAKER_04

I think all I'll say is prepare to be high class. Ballet. Oh.

SPEAKER_01

Or the opera. Is like a phantom, maybe.

SPEAKER_04

I'll tell you. Another hint, which is it's neither of those. Okay. I want to do Phantom of the Opera. You will at some point, maybe.

SPEAKER_01

Add it to the list. He's inside my mind, okay. The future's very exciting for both of those things.

SPEAKER_02

Hey, um, uh, in this labyrinth, where Night's. Where Night is blind. Yeah, exactly.

SPEAKER_04

I'm sending you guys back into the labyrinth.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, his cool underground grotto.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. That was so fucking awesome when he lived in that. Yeah. And before he died and all that. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

What's Lucy's clue? Does Lucy get a cool level seven thing? Do you know yet?

SPEAKER_02

I don't know. I who knows? I was uh Should I add another class or something to my thing?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, become a fighter. Do which one?

SPEAKER_02

You can become a rogue. You can't.

SPEAKER_04

You can add to that. You can multi-class. You don't have to, but you can.

SPEAKER_02

Well, I don't think we can talk about it. Yeah, let's talk. Do you want to get coffee and talk about it sometimes?

SPEAKER_06

No, we can text.

SPEAKER_02

Wow.

SPEAKER_06

He just doesn't drink coffee.

SPEAKER_01

I did I did look at Janice. We can meet. We can meet.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

We can meet. I was joking. Sorry.

SPEAKER_02

I just can't do it over text.

SPEAKER_01

I'm sorry.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

I did look. Janice gets almost nothing except for one ability that I was at first kind of disappointed with and then excited about when I realized the implications. But he gets evasion. Um his feelings? Maybe. Um but mostly uh from uh explosions. So he's huge for now on a dexterity saving throw, Janice automatically gets half damage on a fail and zero damage on a success. So Lucy can try and blow him up all he wants.

SPEAKER_00

If Janus succeeds, he doesn't take any damage.

SPEAKER_01

And his dex is already so high. He's got a good dex. So Janice earned some explosion resistance, basically. That's great. That'll be exciting. Because he's get he has this little extra deck save thing.

SPEAKER_02

I'll have to crack open my book when I get home today.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Crack open that book. Yeah. And then we'll meet for coffee. I'm so sorry. That was so mean of me. Um I was without thinking, I was like the perfect burn, the perfect burn. It's here. Um great.

SPEAKER_02

Well and I don't have resistance to explosion.

SPEAKER_06

Can I can I just give one of Rex's spells? Yeah. Yeah. Um, so I try to take all of these spells and think about them like thematically with the character of why. Um so the first one I had to take was Detect Magic because he doesn't know magic. Or he's like, is this magic?

SPEAKER_01

Uh which is very curious. It's funny that the non-mages are the ones with detect magic. It's me and me and Rex. But I think there was a point in time where we were like, oh, no one has it, or you I asked if somebody had it, and and then not realizing that I had it, that I had already taken it.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, I thought about getting um identify, but Patch's Arcana is so good, I figured that it's that's that's what you've also got really.

SPEAKER_02

And I have dispel magic now, which is that's good.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, so I'll identify it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and I will stop spells.

SPEAKER_04

One of those spells that, like, I think if I was a stricter, more by the book DM, that's very helpful. Because I don't even know if you can roll Arcana to identify. I think if like you have to cast identify I think it's pretty much what you have to do.

SPEAKER_01

Or use it, right? And it depends because the identify spell does have it's like a ritual. It's it's got material components. I think it's like I think it's similar to like Revivify where you need to like have a diamond or something.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, but I think identify is like 10 gold. Like it's like it's cheaper significantly.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. Well, I've been I actually have been every time Histos gets poofed. It's it's 10 gold for uh summon familiar or find familiar.

SPEAKER_03

You've been keeping track.

SPEAKER_01

Well, every time I resummon histos, I take away 10 gold.

SPEAKER_04

That's good, that's good. That's that's honest. Oh, thank you for being honest.

SPEAKER_02

Before we end, I'm honest.

SPEAKER_04

I just looked at all of you.

SPEAKER_02

Before we end up, I should just you know what every time you poof histos, I'm gonna add 10 gold to my purse.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, the 10 gold that Janice spends is being paid to Lucy.

SPEAKER_01

It's it's funny because it's 10 gold worth of incense, technically.

SPEAKER_03

So, like that's a lot of incense.

SPEAKER_01

I know. That's what um it's the expensive stuff is what I assume it is. You know, it's like the printer ink of incense.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, Janice doesn't have to buy that expensive, he just chooses.

SPEAKER_01

He just chooses only the best.

SPEAKER_06

Only name brand. Can I um really quick before we we uh we stop? Um I just have to say my favorite moment from this episode was Lucy telling off Midas and then being weird. Yes, uh, and also can you do this thing for me?

SPEAKER_01

Which was so out of right field. I was like, because Lucy's been a Midas fan. Yeah, yeah. But I don't think she said anything that tightly.

SPEAKER_04

It was just like, oh, Patch is like acting weird. Not even like Patch is a weird little guy, but like like, oh, because their last interaction was kind of weird. Yeah, and more she meant it more of like a oh, maybe check in on your friend, and you were like, he's cool, you're weird and stupid, ugly, ugly, dumbass. Fuck you.

SPEAKER_00

That's not what I said.

SPEAKER_01

Well, it was a stark tournament, it was like and then it was like, I was like, what did Midas say that was mean to Janice in any real way? And I was like, I can't think of anything. I was like, I can't really think of anything. Um I thought it was, I thought it was perfect. And Janice and Amidas go way back, so I was like, I was like, they are old friends in a way.

SPEAKER_03

Like you she is his best friend, truly, like technically, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

But most is what you said.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, she's just picking up on the unspoken things, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

The vibes the vibes are bad. We do, I mean, we both do have a passive aggressive competitiveness to each other, Janice and Amidas.

SPEAKER_04

So like I I intended for her to be meaner, um, but then like after your first interaction, it was another thing where it was like then I started playing her, and I was like, Oh, well, you guys already have Calidaeus, like you already have these people who are like, Well, you know what? Fuck you. Um, I thought it was fun to be like just pretty regular to you.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, we also would have been like, we probably as players would have been like, oh, she's working with Caladeus or something like that. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

No, I think you're the right amount of Midas of being like competitive and like a little bit snarky.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, she's bidding against you for the thing that's obviously for you.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, uh, to just be like Midas, uh, but not be evil, like to be like the exactly what she needs to be, as far as like maybe a little bit polarizing. Yeah, uh maybe not that polarizing.

SPEAKER_02

Well, it's a testament to our the story and like you're playing that um uh that characters can be like kind of gray or or or benign and still be interesting.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, thank you, thank you. Thank you. Super fun.

SPEAKER_02

And anytime anyone needs a telling off, or anytime someone doesn't need a telling off, Lucy will be there to do it.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, Lucy will go aggro. Lucy will Lucy and Rex, I think both will at the drop of a hat be like, you know what?

SPEAKER_06

I'm gonna cut, yeah, I'm gonna cut the deepest I can first first swipe. Yes, I'm gonna cut the deepest I can.

SPEAKER_04

Your fucking dead son that you killed like a dog. That you killed like a dog, you being the dog.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, wait, I do have one other Midas uh Rose that I thought was really funny was whenever she was working in Dable's and like came back and was like, the guards are gone, and we're like, Midas, the flag is in here.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah. Yeah, that's fun. That was funny. Fun sewed, fun times. Thank you all so much for listening. Thank you very much for joining us. Join us next week for Real Housewives of North Easter. Bana. Um, and we will we'll see you the week after that for the next episode of this of this story.

SPEAKER_02

And we have so many, we just we just finished a little business meeting about all the fun things that we have planned.

SPEAKER_04

So we did lots of fun stuff coming up. We are going to be starting a um OnlyFans.

SPEAKER_05

It's just gonna be pictures of my knees.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, we're gonna be starting an OnlyFans for Matt's knees. So Matt's wife, if you don't have some extra money, right now don't get them for free.

SPEAKER_05

He needs those dollars.

SPEAKER_04

Blur on Matt. Note for Matt when you're editing the video blur your knees.

SPEAKER_06

My knees are not in the shot, sir. Okay, well, not your bottom knees, just be careful.

SPEAKER_04

We'll see. Thank you so much for listening.
