The cast talks taking on the second tower of plutopolis
Welcome back to the talk back.
SPEAKER_01Welcome back to the talk back.
SPEAKER_04Welcome back to the talk back.
SPEAKER_06Come on. I almost said welcome back to trying our quest, but honey, that's the wrong show. The trying our quest back. Welcome back to the trying our quest back.
SPEAKER_01That's that's their full Christian name.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Yes. Yes, of course.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that's what we're doing. When they're in trouble.
SPEAKER_06Trying our quest back. Get in here.
SPEAKER_02Trying our.
SPEAKER_04I'm gonna tan your hide.
SPEAKER_06Yep, and then we can.
SPEAKER_03Questifer. Ooh, Questifer. Like that.
SPEAKER_06We're here to talk about the most recent episode of Trying Our Quest, as we do each week. We do. I don't know why I'm explaining what the concept of a talk back show is that we've been doing for many different episodes. Um we don't have to introduce ourselves because if you're listening to this, you've probably listened to the episode because you're subscribed to the Patreon. Thank you again for that.
SPEAKER_02Unless you hacked in.
SPEAKER_06Unless you hacked in, in which case you earned it.
SPEAKER_03We found we know where you are. Last time we talked about people that are big, just behind the scenes content fans.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03That's okay.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. And we mostly do this for ourselves. That's true. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03It's good to have aftercare. It's good to debrief. You're right. Exactly.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. So uh we're gonna be talking about the uh as yet untitled episode uh where you guys uh descended into satirics, or should I say us ended? I was just saying it's interesting you said descended.
SPEAKER_03Yes, because of course we fell up Shut into the sky.
SPEAKER_06Shut into the sky.
SPEAKER_02I had a funny image when I have been editing the episode of like how satirics is described, because it's like there's there's pure satirics, and then there's like the like the city soterics. So to me it almost feels like Soterix is on the inside of the of the planet. If we're even on a planet, if it's even round.
SPEAKER_03Oh, that's interesting. It's probably flat. Well, because right, because I feel like Soterics as like the realm of the gods that we've gone to a couple times to me feels different than Plague Soterics, which is like the shadow realm. Yeah. When you put the ring on in Lord of the Rings kind of thing. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Well, and now now you guys physically have felt how those connect. Uh oh, so they do connect. Yeah, I mean, you were in like the like realm of the god soterics and then fell.
SPEAKER_01And they dropped down. You got draw down. Okay.
SPEAKER_02Erifon slapped us with his star hand.
SPEAKER_01We were up there.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we were right up there.
SPEAKER_01Um art with the stars. For the people who are watching, you can see that. For the people who are listening, um that's that's what it is.
SPEAKER_06Thank you, Shane. Um, yeah, so you guys uh uh catapulted into the sky. And then you were face to face with Europhone in a way that you have never seen him before.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01He's really got a god complex.
SPEAKER_02I mean, he seems like he's uh pretty close. Yeah, isn't it it is concerning to me that he is able to be doing these things that seem not unlike a god.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Yep.
SPEAKER_02Seems like he's got some powers.
SPEAKER_01And it does it does uh bring up some questions because all the little stars that made up his god form were people from Plutopolis.
SPEAKER_03That's right.
SPEAKER_01Like, are all gods just like a combo like a collection of souls of people, or is that just is that just that just this guy?
SPEAKER_04Well, I think if you if if if no one believes in you then you don't matter, and so you would like disappear. So I it would make sense that like they're only as powerful as it's kind of like the Santa Claus. Yes. Oh no, sorry, elf. Tinkerbell. Elf. Tinkerbell, yeah. You know the skin. Tinkerbell. Yeah. I do believe in fairies. Tinkerbell. I do, I do. Sure. Elf. But the but yeah, I think it's like that. And uh, but it is very it I that was very startling. I mean, I think I remember being like, what the fuck are we supposed to do? Yeah, yeah, what what how are we supposed to do?
SPEAKER_06It was I I do apologize. It was a little bit like just up so like, well, here's the cutscene.
SPEAKER_03Um I think I think it did a great job of putting us in a place that made us feel powerless because it was like, I don't know anything about where we are, I don't know how to affect any change, I don't know like what's gonna happen. And so I think, yeah, we didn't do anything there was like, what are we doing? But it was because we were felt so suspended in that suspense.
SPEAKER_06And hopefully the day when you all defeat Eurofon, that will come full circle. Exactly. Yay, if you if you defeat him in like a hundred episodes.
SPEAKER_03Um, and then I guess falling forward a little bit, um, I loved when we were in free fall, that was so fun, and then the magic not working. Oh, yeah. That was so dramatic and cool.
SPEAKER_01Anti-magic field and the boots. Oh, the boots being the boots.
SPEAKER_02That's so we should have suspected that day one when we knew that the bag. Right. And I wasn't. We were just so like, ah, meetings.
SPEAKER_01I think I did make a comment on it where I was like, these are probably bad because they also came from your font, but like they're just so useful. But I feel like I we're gonna need them in the labyrinth, so let's hold on to them. And then we just forgot to forgot to like.
SPEAKER_02And we're like, how is she watching us?
SPEAKER_06I also will say when Janice went cruise missile mode, I was like, hot damn, a monk with like who can fly 600 feet in a round. Maybe I should consider moving those around. Okay, so they weren't they weren't cursed to the case. They were cursed, they were cursed. They were cursed, um, and Caladeus was using them to scry on you. Watching us like a queen.
SPEAKER_01She's so creepy.
SPEAKER_03Do you think she just got like that, whatever that view of the from the sandals per like um perspective, like looking up at us or like seeing the shackle?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, looking up my Rex, my Saintoga. Perfect. That's exactly what I said.
SPEAKER_03Oh, I think she was she was so. I think the I think the eyes were facing down.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, so she's most of the time she saw nothing, but hurt a lot, and if she was watching through it, she was going, ow, ow, ow, ow.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I don't I I didn't have them for long.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, no.
SPEAKER_04I had them, I used them once, but it was very thoughtful for of Janice to offer them to X after he got treated.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, because poor boy, poor boy, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Oh boy, but boy.
SPEAKER_06So uh yeah, you guys uh discarded the boots, managed to cast a featherfall, and then uh got also swooped by Ebenezer Bones and Kedra.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, crazy.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, my go.
SPEAKER_06It's fun when your friends hang out, I feel like it is fun.
SPEAKER_01It's like, oh, you guys know each other?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. Yo, how'd y'all meet?
SPEAKER_01I didn't know you guys knew each other.
SPEAKER_02You think they just met at the party, or did they know each other before?
SPEAKER_01I'm sure they knew each other because Senna's on the council and so is Bones and they're married.
SPEAKER_03And or maybe even like when Kadra was still like working in the house, you know, like had to take a note to Bones. Yeah, and then they ended up having like a whole afternoon together where they sat and chatted and gossiped. So they've been like long-term friends for a long time.
SPEAKER_02Bones loves a chat.
SPEAKER_01There's gonna be a whole side campaign about Bones and Cedra's relationship. Yes.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, Bones and Dunkin' Egg.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, it's a Dunkin' Egg of uh Bones also, when he talks to Cadra, adopts her accent.
SPEAKER_03Um people are just that powerful.
SPEAKER_06It's just cool how they talk sometimes. Yeah. He he but he still sounds like him, so it's just a lot of like Oh, I know what you're talking about, girl.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that's kind of how Spencer Wilden talks.
SPEAKER_06That's how I know. Uh yeah.
SPEAKER_02What like this? Well a bit like this, you know, a bit like this sometimes, honey.
SPEAKER_06Mama. Mama. Mama.
unknownMama.
SPEAKER_06Uh, you guys then entered the tower um where you first saw Triox's uh uh disheveled apartment.
SPEAKER_00Well, first was the door.
SPEAKER_06Oh yeah, the door. That I was like, it was the thing that you do sometimes as a DM where you're like, oh, and you'll put a door where it's like, yeah, you do have to they have to open it, but it's like more just like a stalling. It's it's it's not even meant to be stalling. It's meant to just be like a oh, so you know that you are like crossing the threshold, or you know, like something is and then you're just like, well, yeah, it's like 50 minutes. How do I telegraph us? Because like it it wouldn't logistically make sense for you guys to be able to go in this, like that would be something we'd have to suspend even more disbelief for.
SPEAKER_03For a window, you mean?
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Oh, absolutely.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, that was the right answer. The swarming aboliths and the like type.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I only said that to make Lucy feel bad.
SPEAKER_06Oh yeah, the rope.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Man, it really reached ahead this episode.
SPEAKER_03I feel like I I feel well, maybe we talk about this later, but I feel like I I stumbled a little bit in the reveal of it, but that's okay.
SPEAKER_06I don't think so. I think it's fun.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01I mean, that reveal that you actually had the rope because the listeners know that you had the rope. No, yes, yes, yes. I mean, to patch.
SPEAKER_03Like I thought it was very fun, the whole like Patch or Chloe being like, Lucy would never lie to me. Like, that was so fun. I just feel like I could have waited for a more dramatic moment to say, Patch, I have it.
SPEAKER_02No, I think it worked really well because it was like the end of us being like, I love you guys, like we're gonna be friends forever. You know, we won't we might die.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, yeah, couldn't keep that.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04I was just watching the video earlier, and when Sarah, you go like, I don't have the rope, and you give a look that is so fun. It's so like innocent, like child.
SPEAKER_03Like it's me when I try to lie. Yeah. If I play Secret Hitler, if I'm playing any game, and and I haven't yet bought into I can lie.
SPEAKER_01Did you not know this game, Shane? What is Secret a Hitler?
SPEAKER_06I I know it, but it's also funny just hearing it on the game. But on the clock tower, it's a hidden roll game where like some people are liberals, some people are fascists.
SPEAKER_02Smaller smaller scale.
SPEAKER_01That's what it sounded like.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it's not as never.
SPEAKER_04Wait, you actually didn't know that one? I thought you were doing a bit.
SPEAKER_06That surprises me because you're a board game.
SPEAKER_03This is a card game. This is like a board. Is there a board? There is a board, and there are um uh policy cards. And so every time you go around, you elect a chancellor, yes, and then the president gives cards or gives policy cards to the chancellor.
SPEAKER_06Fascists are trying to pass fascist policy.
SPEAKER_03We will a great game for this just sounds content.
SPEAKER_01US politics.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, no, and it is like oh, sorry, there's only three fascist cards, and then the other person's like, that seems suspicious, or you say, I gave you a choice and you put one down that is suspicious, and then you get to like head-to-head lying.
SPEAKER_06The difference is in the US, all the fascists are pretty open about it. Yeah, no secret Hitlers here. No secret Hitlers, just kind of like everyone claims to be a fascist. Yeah, just kind of like little little mecha hitlers.
SPEAKER_03Anyway, lying Lucy. Yeah. It was good. We hadn't Lucy hadn't lied in a while. Yeah. Yeah. So it was nice to bring back a little a little Lucy lie. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. And it's a good lie. What else is there to lie? Oldest thing to lie about in the book.
SPEAKER_03I'm not sleeping with that rope.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Um, after that, you guys uh entered the tower. We use Trioctus' disheveled apartment.
SPEAKER_02Sad.
SPEAKER_04Sad to see how a guy lives.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, he wrote a note.
SPEAKER_02He wrote a note just being like, it was all me. Sorry!
SPEAKER_01Bye. And we were like, old news.
SPEAKER_02No, he had a sick line that was like, um He did. Yeah, it was like judge me first, but understand me second.
SPEAKER_04Oh, I was gonna say it didn't run, but so sassy.
SPEAKER_02Sassy.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. And then he he he sealed it with a kiss. He put it his lipstick on there. Uh and you saw the blueprints of his or the that was helpful. Little device.
SPEAKER_02The little device. I guess it doesn't have a name.
SPEAKER_01Uh think god.
SPEAKER_06It does, but I'm stupid and didn't say it.
SPEAKER_02The resonator. Um yeah, found those schematics.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, signed by Diomarchus.
SPEAKER_02Our friend guy.
SPEAKER_01He is our friend.
SPEAKER_03Is he still alive? Yeah, he's a robot. That's what I thought.
SPEAKER_01He's alive, parenthesis. Right, right. He transferred it.
SPEAKER_03I mean, it's only been like two days. He's alive the way that he's kind of he's like a Dorina kind of, right? That's what your character's name was?
SPEAKER_06Yeah, Dory Doriana.
SPEAKER_03Doriana. Yeah, he's a he's a warforce. Doriana honeysuckle.
SPEAKER_02He put his he put his consciousness into uh the same computer. Computer consciousness in me.
SPEAKER_03What is that from?
SPEAKER_04No, we're not doing this again. It's from Instagram.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_04We've done this, I feel like, on the 10 times.
SPEAKER_06It's the guy. Okay, company. No, it's okay. It's okay.
SPEAKER_02Cut it out.
SPEAKER_06No, it's okay. I I want to talk about it.
SPEAKER_02It's the guy who says, hey, computo, and then he ever either says something mean or nice to someone.
SPEAKER_06He's like, okay, computer, make this guy gay and horny and full of cum. Make him have the most comfort day that he's ever had in his life. I open blast ropes. Or he goes, hey computer, make this guy's dick so long that he trips on it, and then he accidentally kicks it off, and then he gets tied around his waist, and then he gets caught by the police who are after him, and they throw him in jail where a rabid dog bites his severed dick.
SPEAKER_04Sometimes he'll just be like on the L in Chicago and like pointing at people and just like improvising some like someone's like working on the computer would be like, like computer, do analytics, whatever. You know, a little less nice blue.
SPEAKER_03Thank you. That explanation will hold me over for a couple of times.
SPEAKER_04That's where I think ones on his algorithm. We'll meet you back here next week when we explain it again. Yes again. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Um yeah, so then you guys headed down from Trioxas. I feel like we're we're blazing through this.
SPEAKER_02Um we were blazing through this tower. We were blazing through the tower. Our second tower in less than 24 hours.
SPEAKER_06That's true. When I made two towers, I was like, uh, by the time we get to them, there will be two different ways to go through these towers. I mean, there's only so many ways. Top down.
SPEAKER_02It's either that or bottom up.
SPEAKER_01We love to do towers top down.
SPEAKER_02We do.
SPEAKER_06You love to be dropped from a hot air balloon onto a tower.
SPEAKER_02I tried to go side via a window, but I didn't have my rope.
SPEAKER_06That's true.
SPEAKER_02Wouldn't have worked anyway.
SPEAKER_06Um don't know that for sure. You guys then saw the fell priests in their enclosure.
SPEAKER_03What uh question? Also, when was the upsie downsy? Or the no, when was the the turn table? Was that before the didn't we go down like some elevator of some kind?
SPEAKER_06You did get in an elevator.
SPEAKER_02Was that before or after the elevator down to the priests and then we took it down more?
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Thank you.
SPEAKER_06So you guys saw the priests. Yeah, that's right.
SPEAKER_01I forgot about that.
SPEAKER_06Is this the first like NPC that you're friends with who has like died in some meaningful way? Yeah. I think so.
SPEAKER_02Patch says it.
SPEAKER_03Surely not.
SPEAKER_02Patch says it. He's like the this is the first person I've known and had been close to that died.
SPEAKER_03Wow.
SPEAKER_02The only other people have been that we like there haven't been any any other people that like we know that we care about.
SPEAKER_03Nobody that's like wow.
SPEAKER_02Like Calidayus.
SPEAKER_06It's weird to think about, right? I also was like, oh yeah. Like Arc 1 happened. Nobody really died except for Brock, who you guys didn't know. Like uh uh Arc 2.
SPEAKER_02There was like villagers, random villagers who would get murked.
SPEAKER_01Lucy did lose the whole servos family.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03But like even that is like off-screen. Like I feel like maybe because there's so much death where it's like, surely.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. I I I think I've been mostly brutal to you guys and not so much to the people you know.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Um, Torrin live?
SPEAKER_03I'm gonna start getting a little Torin's life.
SPEAKER_04Torrin's alive.
SPEAKER_06Torrin's alive. I did not kill the 12-year-old boy.
SPEAKER_04Even the girl with the blood flu survived.
SPEAKER_02Even the girl with the blood flu survived. I feel like Patricia's mom has been kind of well, well, oh no, this was that that happened just now. We'll talk about that later.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, it's been less brutal, like like everyone you guys like has just kind of stayed around and not maybe not even stayed around, but they're just like, okay, I'll be in this town.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, we've saved us and them, and then they go off.
SPEAKER_02Which which I don't mind. Like I, you know, I want whatever happens in the story to happen, but I don't think it would be necessarily that fun to have like Yeah, everyone die. Yeah, Patch being going through this, like with his sister just dying. Yeah, yeah. You know, like it's not a critique by any. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06It's not that there's protected NP, like people will die certainly, but there actually Raflack could have died, but he never did. Yeah, there's like, I feel like there's we want there to be like compelling story reasons. Yeah. Yeah. And so getting you guys a long rest was definitely a compelling story.
SPEAKER_03I mean no, yes, I as soon as you started talking about like giving energy, I was like, oh thank god Spencer is building in a long rest here because we needed to fight Calidaeus with Yeah, with all I had like three spell slots left, like it was not gonna work.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, even with the potions we drank, I still was down HP. Janice didn't even have any.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I didn't yeah.
SPEAKER_03And it like like speaking of compelling story points, like it was very moving. And like the picture I I had in my head of like whole hand yeah, picture I had in my head of holding one of them was like very moving, and to like feel what that would be like if someone like gave their life force to you while you were holding them, and and it was also the first time we saw all three of them together, like kind of working together, yeah, to even just like communicate um was was interesting and and moving to be like, oh no, they should they need to be together.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, yeah. So after that sad moment, you guys got in a fucking elevator.
SPEAKER_03And upside down. The elevators were fun both times.
SPEAKER_01Invented by elevators.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, oh yeah. And auto.
SPEAKER_01Otis.
SPEAKER_03Oh, Otis. Otis.
SPEAKER_06I love elevator.
SPEAKER_04No, sorry. Otis is a real elevator. Otis is a real elevator company.
SPEAKER_02It is. It's Shane's elevator. Doxed.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, so find your nearest Otis elevator. Otis elevated.
SPEAKER_01And if you live in Brooklyn, it might be Shane's. It might be mine. Break, break into the Otis Manufacturing Company.
SPEAKER_02Little do you know that this is the only building in like a 20-mile radius with an Otis elevator. Shane gets real light. That'd be so scary.
SPEAKER_03Don't do that. I want to see a map of uh like the density of elevators in the U.S. Yeah. Because I thought there'd be a ton in New York, and then it would probably get sparser as you went. Like, I think that's just I mean, it would correspond to tall buildings, I know. But yeah.
SPEAKER_01Are there any elevators in New Mexico? I think it'd be interesting. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Do you have any buildings that go back to the next one? There are elevators in New Mexico. I was thinking about it. I feel like I don't know. Not a ton. I don't have the math words to describe it, but I feel like in a certain way there might be like more elevators per capita? Yeah, per building or something. Because we don't have walk-ups in you know this house.
SPEAKER_03That's the other thing is like New York City is not accessible for like if you have if you can't walk very well, like it is a terrible city.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Any building with more than two floors has an elevator in it.
SPEAKER_06Oh yeah. That's nice. Yeah. I mean we we had elevators. Let's not make a big thing of it, but we had them. Yeah, my high school also. My high school had an elevator. Did any did any like seniors try to sell you an elevator key? Did you have that scam?
SPEAKER_02No, our elevator was really sketchy, so it no one wanted to use it.
SPEAKER_01We had to find an elevator with only people who had an elevator pass like who were injured or also had an elevator needed it for injuries. Uh yeah, for injuries and just for like heavy things.
SPEAKER_04Those the like I'm sure New Mexico and Dallas were went through um I don't know.
SPEAKER_02We're also newer, so we're gonna do that.
SPEAKER_04That's what I'm trying to say. It's like went through a development phase like after New York did.
SPEAKER_02We didn't we don't have like old multi-story building buildings.
SPEAKER_03I was gonna say though, like Spencer said, don't make a think of it. It's like, sure, he remembers when the they got their first one, but it was very closely followed by the second, and then it was fine.
SPEAKER_04That's because Spencer's 200 years old.
SPEAKER_06I don't know if the town I grew up in had elevators, but definitely Albuquerque did.
SPEAKER_03So sometimes I wish I could just scry into your memory vision.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, well, you should have given me flying boots a bunch of years ago, and then you could.
SPEAKER_03I just want to look What are we talking about? We're talking about the elevator.
SPEAKER_01We went down longer hole.
SPEAKER_06We've been spent longer going down the elevator in this than we spent talking about anything else.
SPEAKER_02Can we sell Al Kapove? Which I'm Al Kapove.
SPEAKER_06I already texted you guys this, but I'm I'm kicking my own ass, giving myself a wedgie for saying that was Ebenezer Bones like parent who was in organized crime, but not saying Al Cabones.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Fuck. Can we can we actually cut this into the episode? Al Cabones.
SPEAKER_02No, because I think Al Cabones works on Alcove.
SPEAKER_06But if it's if they're related to Ebenezer Bones, it's so close in the organized crimes. It would have to be Al Cobra.
SPEAKER_03I think they're rival organized crimes.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Oh shit.
SPEAKER_01The coves were bones.
SPEAKER_02No, the first person we saw was named Luisa May Alcove. I think it's fine. Which was funny. It was funny.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. And you guys then saw Callaus with Genesis dead.
SPEAKER_02And she said that that was her only friend.
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah, that whole friend conversation was so sad.
SPEAKER_06Say that that's her only friend. She didn't say that. We said my girl being maligned.
SPEAKER_02We said, I just just just edited this part. She we said, name one friend, and she said, Midas Apollon, bitch.
SPEAKER_06Well, she said, okay, so she probably did say that. But she you didn't say name your only friend. Check this out. Just rested Celsius can on my uh arm. On my mic mic arm.
SPEAKER_04Don't move it.
SPEAKER_02On my carm. My carm.
SPEAKER_06Could someone with only one friend do this?
SPEAKER_04No. You're you know you're not Caladeus, right?
SPEAKER_03Yeah. How much of how much of USO do you put into Caladeaus?
SPEAKER_06At this point, I admit that I feel a deep kinship to yourself, insert.
SPEAKER_01Wouldn't surprise me.
SPEAKER_04No. Oh.
SPEAKER_06Ouch.
SPEAKER_02I assume we all have a little bit of kinship to all of our characters. Ow.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, Spencer, you just split yourself a lot of different ways.
SPEAKER_03It's true. It's like a reflection of each part of him.
SPEAKER_06That's true. Europhon is my plotter part. It's the part of me that schemes.
SPEAKER_02It's your DM. And Caladeus is your shadow self.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, Caladeus is like me and Caladeus is the version of you that yells at bikers. Yes. Well, Caladeus is also the version of me in high school that like leaves comments on libertarians' Facebook posts that are just like, I need you to recheck the Bill of Rights, buddy. So that people could see me being woke.
SPEAKER_00Is that a direct quote?
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Were you a social justice warrior?
SPEAKER_06I I think I remain a little bit of one. Um but I definitely was. I used to get there's this one. Okay, can I tell you guys a quick story? Yeah. Yeah. We got time. This is the time and place. I'm gonna say his full name because he deserves it. Um this kid, uh I'll censor out. Al Cove. No, no, no. Once I'm done, you won't need to because you'll hear what happened. Um died? No. Um, but kind of worse. Um he lived. His name was Nate and his sister was Madeline. Um my sister was friends with Madeline when they were in school, but she didn't know a ton about like her politics or anything. It was just like, um, Nate I used to get in arguments with on Facebook all the time because he'd post stuff that was like, you know, this was Black Lives Matter in like 2016. Um, I remember. Remember high school being like someone should drive a car through this protest, and I'd be like, You are of the devil. Um turns out, learned this during the pandemic, uh an article came out from a website that exposes um actual neo-Nazis, like like register. I don't know how they register, but it's like this they're called desert nationalists. Oh. And they're like Nazis who like are very like genuine pro-Hitler, like not Nazis in like the way where we're like you have beliefs which which align themselves with that of Nazis.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_06People who would call themselves Nazis and be like Hitler did nothing wrong.
SPEAKER_02People who get Schwastikas tattooed on them.
SPEAKER_06And it exposed both him and his sister. I'm gonna cut that, but we're gonna I think we should include it. Yeah, because it's just it proves how valid I was in saying that he was racist because he turns out he was an actual Nazi.
SPEAKER_02I'll keep that for wow, that's crazy.
SPEAKER_03You can beep the name, but long story short, he's an actual Nazi. I was gonna say that Caladeus reminded me of what Spencer would be like if he was a woman born in the 70s. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Yes, yes, I would be terrible.
SPEAKER_02I mean, she's for to me, she's full Laura Dern in Big Little Eyes. I think that's very I haven't seen it. What? I also haven't seen it. What?
SPEAKER_06Was she bad in my life? I also haven't seen it.
SPEAKER_02She wasn't bad, but she was like played Dr.
SPEAKER_06Ellie Sattler in Big Little Lies.
SPEAKER_02No, she she's literally her whole y'all have to, y'all. Oh, the text that came out.
SPEAKER_01Oh, these two do need to.
SPEAKER_02Y'all need to watch Big Little Lies. You also, I think, would enjoy it if you like.
SPEAKER_06Right, but I guess less than both do.
SPEAKER_02I don't know, just because I feel like they love drama TV.
SPEAKER_04And it's only two seasons. It's probably Spencer, you gotta tap it, you have to put on some tea, pour some vodka in it. It's very good.
SPEAKER_02Tea and vodka is crazy. Laura Dern plays like the ultimate like PTA mom, rich Monterey mom. And she literally has a line where she's like, I will not not be rich. You know? It's like fully one of those. That's what you should watch.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, her whole storyline is now flying back to me.
SPEAKER_04I was gonna say tap into your Caladeus and watch it. Okay.
SPEAKER_06And I'll I'll go, I'll go, this woman is valid.
SPEAKER_03There's a lot of Caladeus energy in that show, actually. Hey, or whatever.
SPEAKER_06Um, I'm uh very excited for the next episode where you guys fight Caladeus. We'll see what happens. Yeah. Who knows what happens? I don't know. What hangar? What exciting? I do appreciate you guys all coming back to record this talk back after your characters got killed in the next episode. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you gotta you gotta applaud our acting on this.
SPEAKER_04We thought it would be a good nice send-off, you know.
SPEAKER_06Well, thank you all so much for listening. We will see you next week. Uh and as always, um take take them out with a little bit of wisdom, Sarah.
SPEAKER_03Oh, um absolutely, no, not a problem. Um tip your waiters because she kept going.
SPEAKER_06Why should we tip our waiters? We both know.
SPEAKER_03It's not for the reason you think. Okay. No, I don't know. We needed a reason. Well, you absolutely do, because uh the the whole idea of someone being there to um bring your meal from the kitchen to you is kind of anathema to the human race. And so I feel like we're cosmically s rescaling that balance by um offering a little bit of a token of gratitude to that person. Um because the further away we are removed from our food being prepared, the further we are away from um divinity. And what does anathema mean?
SPEAKER_04It's just like athema, but anath mi asthma, but like with anathema. That doesn't help me.
SPEAKER_06I don't know how it's like the opposite. It's like the um in contrast to taking away from like it's anathema.
SPEAKER_03It's um good word. Yeah, it's it's it's uh like water and oil. Nice.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, if you if like if you had if your belief was like always give food to those who need it, something that was be would be like anathema to you would be taking food away from people who need it. Like it's the opposite.
SPEAKER_02See, do other real real actual play DD podcasts teach you vocabulary like this?
SPEAKER_06I tell you, I've been watching Critical Role, they do.
SPEAKER_02Well, they're saying like made-up fantasy shows.
SPEAKER_06Brennan Lee Mulligan will always every episode will say some word like he would know. I'm gonna come out homeschool kid. That's what he is. Yes, he is and that and that fucking reads.
SPEAKER_02And Nepo baby in the nerd sphere.
SPEAKER_06Yes. Um, and and he's one of the very good, but he's very smart. I have I have little patience for homeschool kids.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, grow up. I mean that. We're leaving in. Um Yeah, we're leaving in a Nazi allegation. We're leaving it.
SPEAKER_05No, no, no, no, not an allegation. Goodbye.
SPEAKER_03Blep out you saying a random part of it that doesn't actually make sense. Thank you.
SPEAKER_07Thank you so much for listening.
SPEAKER_03Thank you. Bye.
