Barbara Friedlander

Barbara Friedlander is a National Board-Certified Special Education Teacher, educational consultant, and adjunct professor at the University of Maryland College of Education. Her work focuses on inclusive practices, writing instruction, co-teaching, and school improvement to support meaningful access and success for all learners. Barbara is the co-author of Powerful Writing Strategies for All Students, serves on the Maryland Council for Exceptional Children Board, Chari of the CEC Private School affinity group and the University of Maryland College of Education Alumni Network Board, and was recognized as the 2024 Learning Disabilities Association of America Sam Kirk Educator of the Year.
