In Episode 10 of You+Me=US, Sharon and Evan dive into one of the most important—and sometimes uncomfortable—parts of any relationship: compromise. They break down what it really means to meet your partner halfway and ask the tough question: Is compromise always healthy, or can it go too far?
The conversation gets personal as they reflect on whether they’re truly comfortable compromising, and what it looks like when one person feels like they’re giving up more than the other. Sharon and Evan also share real-life examples, including the biggest things they’ve each had to compromise on, sparking a relatable discussion for couples everywhere.
Switching gears, they tap into pop culture with excitement around the upcoming Michael movie release, discussing expectations and whether it will live up to the legacy surrounding Michael Jackson.
Then it’s all about concert culture—specifically the buzz around Chris Brown and Usher. From jaw-dropping ticket prices to fan behavior, Sharon and Evan react to how far some women go to meet their favorite celebrities, and whether it crosses the line or just shows dedication.
This episode blends relationship insight with entertainment talk, giving listeners both something to think about and something to laugh at. Whether you’re navigating compromise or debating concert tickets, Episode 10 keeps it real, honest, and engaging.

SPEAKER_03

Y'all know what that means. It is the start of another show. It is the you plus me equals us. Not us.

SPEAKER_02

I know you were gonna say that not the uses, but it is the uses.

SPEAKER_03

We are the uses, and we are glad to have you with another episode with us. Yeah. I am Evan Curry, one half of the Uses, and you are Sharon Curry.

SPEAKER_02

The better half of the Uses.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, whatever. That's what a lot of people say. Yeah, that's the truth. But anyway, we can do this right here. We apologize. Well, I apologize for last week. We know we missed a week, but it is okay.

SPEAKER_02

Mother Nature.

SPEAKER_03

Mother Late Mother Nature did get the best of us a little bit, but you know. But God G-O-D. Mm-hmm. Capita G-O-D. He is good to meet. All the time. We always start off an episode since it is Thursday. AKA T B T. You know how you blacks do it. Throw back Thursday.

SPEAKER_02

Why does it have to be us blacks? Why can't it just be us people?

SPEAKER_03

Well, you people. We know how you people do it. Which means all people.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, all people.

SPEAKER_03

Everybody's included. Yes. We always start off with a tune or two to set the mood so you can get your glass of wine. You can or your water. Yeah, water. I got water too. And you can do other things, whatever your habits do. You know.

unknown

All right.

SPEAKER_03

No judgment here.

SPEAKER_02

We'll stop there.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I said no judgment here. But you know, we're gonna go ahead and get the party started. Uh-oh. What up, cottage? Cottage in the house.

SPEAKER_02

Hi guys.

SPEAKER_03

Is that a uh a thing?

SPEAKER_02

What?

SPEAKER_03

Them being in the house. You know what I'm talking about? Okay.

SPEAKER_02

You do too much. You do too much.

SPEAKER_03

They know what I'm talking about.

SPEAKER_02

They he do too much.

SPEAKER_03

They is in the house.

SPEAKER_02

Hi Nate, because I know my baby's watching. Hi Nate.

SPEAKER_03

Nathaniel, go sit down because I know you are on trash right now. No, that's my baby. My man, stay on trash.

SPEAKER_02

But that I'll be happy with that. Just like his uncle.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, that's why I'm happy for him. We all stay on trash. Who this is right here. Ola. Hola. Betsy Boo. Who you is? You gotta tell me who you is.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, we need a picture.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, we need to picture.

SPEAKER_02

Welcome, welcome. Hi, Elkie. Everybody, welcome in. Welcome in.

SPEAKER_03

Hey, woman that I just left. How you doing? I told you I was gonna say hi.

SPEAKER_02

All righty. Let's get to that.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, this is Mule Kick. What up, Mule Kick? Mule Kick.

SPEAKER_02

Hi, Andre.

SPEAKER_03

We was talking about that the other day. I said, girl.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my goodness.

SPEAKER_03

Do you realize what we used to do in the gym? And she was like, Bruh, you used to have me in there on some stuff. And then the other group used to come in there doing the dainty stuff. And she was like, Yeah, well, we just got done deadlifting.

SPEAKER_02

So yeah. Oh my god, mule kick. That just took it back. Yeah, that was like 2019. Wow.

SPEAKER_03

No, it was longer than 19. Was it? Yeah. Oh, it sure was. We was thinking 16 for real. 2016.

SPEAKER_02

Might have been. Might have been.

SPEAKER_03

But hold on now. Yeah, we can't do that yet. I forgot to do one thing. I forget things at times.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, we I have that on record. Yeah. You do see, could you say it again?

SPEAKER_03

I forget things at times. Oh, and this is happening to be one of the things. God is amazing.

SPEAKER_02

Would you look at God?

SPEAKER_03

He's a miser. But guess what? We are stepping it up another notch. So not only can you watch and comment in the chat, you can also call.

SPEAKER_02

Oh gosh, I didn't know this was a thing.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it's a thing. It's real. You can call in. Yeah, no, it's fine. It should be okay.

SPEAKER_02

Keep that thought or keep that same energy when we get packages to the house.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, well, it'd be your packages anyway.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, but you'd be like, how come I didn't know about now? I'd be like, it's all right. Y'all are my witnesses.

SPEAKER_03

It's okay. Hold on, y'all. I was being a little bit uh unprofessional right now, unprepared, I should say.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that was. But hey, it's fine. No, it's not. We got new people watching. Yeah, they understand. Usually we're not like this, usually we're very prepared, but clearly.

SPEAKER_03

But it's okay, y'all. But check this out that is the number that you can call into the show and say what you want to say, ask us anything you want to ask, or just you know, but bless us with your presence.

SPEAKER_02

Please, no foul language, because I will hit the end button on your behind.

SPEAKER_03

I got the sensor button right here.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, we're just gonna hit end.

SPEAKER_03

It is ready to go. You say anything, yep. I'm ready.

SPEAKER_02

Where's the end button? End. Oh, yeah, just hang up. That's how we're gonna do that one.

SPEAKER_03

216-452-2608. It is on the screen. Once again, 216-452-2608. Call in, let us know what you want to talk about. But now that we got all that out the way, we will go ahead and get this thing going with the TBT jam of the day.

SPEAKER_02

Finally, five minutes later.

SPEAKER_03

Uh, it's fine.

SPEAKER_02

Everything it's fine, huh?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, make them wait. I can't what up, sir? How you is? Hey, wow, that was uh oh. How do we have a call already?

SPEAKER_02

See, and you're not even gonna get to the song. You should not put the number up.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, what wait for the call. You gotta wait because we gotta do the song. I can't have y'all calling yet. That's what you see, but it's okay, it's all right. Play the song. People want the song. This is a shout-out because y'all know that movie came out this week. Tomorrow, y'all know y'all used to love Michael. Should still love Michael.

SPEAKER_06

There'll be no darkness tonight. Lady Love.

SPEAKER_02

There's no way you shouldn't. Yeah, right. Oh my god, you know about this.

SPEAKER_03

I dedicated to you.

SPEAKER_06

Thank you.

SPEAKER_03

No.

SPEAKER_06

Let me feel you with the probably kid because this is when he was gonna love you more this day. So I promise you.

SPEAKER_03

I'm actually really excited to see this movie. I am too. I can't wait to go shoot for real. This is gonna be my first time in the movie theater since what? What was the last movie we went to see?

SPEAKER_02

I mean, the movie that you went to go see. I'd seen a bunch of movies since last movie we saw was um Wow.

SPEAKER_03

It was Sinners. We went to see Sinners, didn't we?

SPEAKER_02

In the theaters, no, because I would have been scared as heck. No. We didn't know.

SPEAKER_03

I can't remember what we did.

SPEAKER_02

It was something Oh, it was bad boys.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, yeah, bad boys.

SPEAKER_02

I wasn't seeing sinners in a movie. I barely wanted to watch it at home with my scary butt.

SPEAKER_03

Oh yeah, she'd be scared.

SPEAKER_02

I sure do. I believe in Jesus. Yes, I'd be very scared.

SPEAKER_03

That should be all the more reasonable. Right.

SPEAKER_02

So I'm not about to put all that stuff in my spirit.

SPEAKER_03

But anyway, yeah, anywho. Because she can't just say that I love the Jesus and say I'd be scared in the same situation.

SPEAKER_02

They know what I'm trying to say.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, hopefully. Jeez. We're gonna get this thing started, y'all. Y'all know today is a national holiday. It is, whether you know it or not. In the city of Cleveland, it is a national holiday. It is draft day, y'all. It is round one of the draft at eight o'clock, and that's why we came on at seven o'clock. Because whose idea was it?

SPEAKER_02

It was my idea. Would you like to know why it was my idea? Why that is, Shawley? Because football is his life outside of me. So either we were gonna start at 7:30 and we would have the TV on and he would not be engaged in this.

SPEAKER_03

I'll be just like this.

SPEAKER_02

So with him eyes. Good pick, big old eyes. So I said to him, Um, you know, let's let's start it at seven. That way we're done at a decent time where he can enjoy what he wants to enjoy. But I know this is his first love. This is what he wants to really be doing.

SPEAKER_03

That's why I'm doing it.

SPEAKER_02

Good answer. It's like Family Feud. Good answer. Good answer.

SPEAKER_03

Is that on the board, Steve?

SPEAKER_02

Yes. Thank you. Number one answer. Number one answer.

SPEAKER_03

That's all I give out.

SPEAKER_02

You know what I'm saying? Well, that's what I did want to talk about. Um, since that was a compromise. Not even a compromise. Well, yeah, I guess that was a compromise on my part. Yeah. Um also like what what keep going, sister? Come on, show it was a compromise on my part. Um basically put it. I don't want to even say put in my needs after yours because I do enjoy I do enjoy watching the draft with him, even though I probably don't know one person in the draft. Uh or do I?

SPEAKER_03

Uh probably not this year.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, anyway, I like to watch it just like he makes it exciting for me. He gives me all their backstories and blah, blah, blah. But that's something I wanted to bring up to you. Do you feel that that's something that most couples should do? Like what I kind of did today, compromise and like show interest in things that you really may not be interested in. You think that's important?

SPEAKER_03

That's very important, especially on uh the man's side. And I know you about to say, oh, don't be starting that. But nine times out of ten, women are gonna be in something into something totally different than men are. So sometimes we have to put our stuff to the side to make you guys happy, and then at the end of the day, can you give me an example of what that is with me? Like, what is name something like um I can give you one broad subject.

SPEAKER_02

Not my show, not my shows. No, no, no, no, my shows, okay.

SPEAKER_03

Spontaneous. I've before you, I was not a spontaneous person whatsoever. I had to be by a book, like, okay, do this, do this, do this. Okay, now do this, do this, do this. And it'll be some days you'll be like, you know what? I want to do this, and we'll go do it. And then like at first, I'd be uncomfortable, like I this wasn't on the plans. This was not in the plans. Then at the end of the day, I'm having fun. So that it was spontaneousness. You made me a spontaneous person to a certain percentage. I'm still not 100% there like you, but really, that was never in my no, you're 100%. I probably to this day, probably like 60. Really?

SPEAKER_02

You do a very good job of um I don't know. That I not that's something I never thought about.

SPEAKER_03

Like Yeah, because if that's not if that's not in my repertoire.

SPEAKER_02

He's a unicorn.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. If that's not in my repertoire, I wouldn't be, you know, doing it, but you made it my repertoire, pretty much. Because especially when we first got together, I had no the places she used to take me, y'all, and the stuff we used to do, she used to be so embarrassed. Uh she called me, and B, you already know. Uh she she used to call me urban. Like very urban.

SPEAKER_02

Because back in the day, our first, and then we'll we'll get back on trade. This is kind of still being on track, but yes, our first one of our first dates was going to the what was chop? No, it wasn't Chop House.

SPEAKER_03

It was Brio.

SPEAKER_02

Brio. I'll never forget, which is really not a fancy restaurant. Brio was like, it was not a fancy restaurant, it wasn't to him. To me's so we meet there, and this was in Legacy Village, I do believe. We meet there. I'm already sitting there. He walks in, and oh my goodness, these back, what was it, 2005? The big I call them the Laffy Taffy shorts because they were the shorts the guys wore in the video. Those big baggy.

SPEAKER_03

Oh no, no, yeah, that was Jabo. That wasn't even Laffy Taffy, that was juvenile them.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, okay. New Orleans made it famous, y'all. It was absolutely horrible. So he wore that. He had on the Fred Samford um graphic T and as I call it, his TI hat, his tip hat. That's exactly how you were wearing it. And this long, like uh bring him to the side, shot. What do they used to call those things? Dog chains. Yeah. Walks in, and I was just like, I was mortified. I was absolutely mortified.

SPEAKER_03

So now, mind y'all, we at Brio in Legacy Village, which was not fancy, not fancy, but people don't wear that. So I was the sore thumb in there. You know how people say you stick out like a sore thumb. I was a sore thumb, baby.

SPEAKER_02

I was yeah, you was an ugly thumb, not ugly like that, but your outfit was very ugly. The outfit was very ugly. Hey, and then I was comfortable. So, so do you remember how you um the napkin?

SPEAKER_03

You didn't know where to put the napkin. Um, not only the napkin, the water. When they poured the water and you told me to drink it, I grabbed that cup. I seen everybody looking at me, so I stuck my pinky up.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I was so embarrassed.

SPEAKER_03

I was so embarrassed. I stuck my pinky up and drank my water, then looked right back at everybody else. See what I just did? At Brio, guys.

SPEAKER_02

So that basically that's saying that you've you compromised like from that day forward, you knew that I was gonna have you in situations that were never in before in my whole life.

SPEAKER_03

Ever.

SPEAKER_02

Wow.

SPEAKER_03

Not one time have I got hungry and be like, you know what? I want to go to Brio.

SPEAKER_02

Brio has some good food, they had good calamari, good bread, good.

SPEAKER_03

Now, this is a place where they tailor their menu to people that don't eat a lot.

SPEAKER_02

So their menu because it wasn't a buffet.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, that's the point of eating. You have to get full.

SPEAKER_02

Now let's talk about that then. So we're going on a tangent here because I got stories to tell. No, we're still on the subject. About um, I had to compromise going, I hate buffets. I'm not going to pay $22 and I'm gonna eat a saucer full of food. And then after that, I'm watching you eat and it's just a spectator sport.

SPEAKER_03

Hey, steppy game up. Steppy game up.

SPEAKER_02

But I would like to hear from you guys, what are some situations where you've had to um compromise? Or do you feel that that shouldn't be a thing? Like you do you, I do me. If it makes us happy, we keep it like that. Or do you feel that, you know, 50-50, little give, little take? You know, curious to see what you guys have to say.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, now the phone lines are open.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, you jumped the gun. And I didn't know we were gonna do this. And I didn't know we were gonna do this today. So this is news to me as well.

SPEAKER_03

So yeah, message. Check your mail.

SPEAKER_02

Whatever.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, put it in the chat if you got some kind of uh compromise situation with you and your loved one, you and your friend, you and your significant other, whatever. Any relationship, your mama them, or you know, your mama didn't put you in some strange compromise situations because they when you was little, they say you gotta do this in order to do that.

SPEAKER_02

That's not no compromise. You compromise is like you're allowed to do what you yeah, as a kid, you're not saying no. Well, if you were tough, you would. Okay, I wish I hope my mother-in-law call in because I want to know the line. You just lying. No, you never told her no.

SPEAKER_03

I never said I told my mother no. I see you said America, how she tried to flip that on me. I didn't do that at all. You know what? Don't do that to me. Bob Barker got my back.

SPEAKER_02

Anyway, okay. Well, we'll wait for those phone calls because whoever called earlier, y'all need to call back. Come on, call back.

SPEAKER_03

I have an inkling who that was that was calling. I do. Oh, I have well.

SPEAKER_02

I'm gonna need I'm gonna need you to go ahead and call on back. But we'll move forward. So we that song we were just um playing, we were talking about the Michael Jackson movie. Lady of my life. Did you know that he and I do believe I'm probably wrong about this. I hope I'm not. Um, his nephew, Jafar. Oh, that's his name. That's his real name.

SPEAKER_03

The Tito boy.

SPEAKER_02

So Tito is the one that wears like the gumby the box.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know what Tito has going on with his hair. It's pretty ugly. A lot of it wears that.

SPEAKER_02

A lot of it is like painted, like from like right here and forward, it's like paint, and then the rest of it is like some kind of hair. I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

But um, they said that he took this role so serious because he did not want to disappoint his uncle. Exactly. But they say he was practicing from sun up to sundown to the point where his feet would bleed to get every single step right.

SPEAKER_03

So I heard an interview for with him the other day, and he was just saying those words, like I just didn't want to let my uncle down, and still to this day, he don't think he did a good enough job. But he put a lot of pressure on himself.

SPEAKER_02

That is a lot of I mean, that's what that family alone. Yeah, that's a lot of pressure. But what an honor, though, to be able to stand in front of the world and show how great your uncle was.

SPEAKER_03

Um, that's pretty dope. We got something from Mule Kick right here. Hey, she the one said it. She said, How do you compromise on finances, spending habits, especially when one person isn't financially responsible?

SPEAKER_02

I am the unresponsible party, am I not? I wouldn't say unresponsible, not unresponsible, but I have to be monitored because that goes with her spontaneousism.

SPEAKER_03

Sure is. That means impulse purchaser. Yes, that's exactly what that means. Yep. So that's why I wouldn't say irresponsible. You just you're you're very feeling I like a lot of things, yeah. But she's very feelings dominated. So is she feeling something right now? She's gonna do it. Oh, look at this on Amazon. Buy right now, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

No last told there.

SPEAKER_03

That's an impulse buyer by a spontaneous person. So you just have to figure out a happy medium with that mule kick. You gotta see what is Andrew, it's Andrea. What does she prove?

SPEAKER_01

I know, but I'm not calling her meal kick.

SPEAKER_03

I'll follow directions, but you gotta just have a conversation with that person. And if they go too far, like, hey, look, you gotta have receipts, literally receipts. Hey, look at this. Boom. Does that make any sense of what we're trying to do right now? What are you trying to do? I thought we was on the same page. Yeah, yeah. And if we're not on the same page, let us get on the same page, please. But it's just a conversation you gotta have.

SPEAKER_02

It's a but and it's so being a person that the conversation had to be had for, you just have to be re willing to receive it and just know, like, be honest about like, you know, I not to say I have a spending problem, but like he said, I'm an impulsive, uh, I have an impulsive personality. So like if I'm feeling a certain way, like I'm gonna go buy something to make me happy, or if I see something that I've been wanting for whatever, I'm not talking to him. Well, I used to not talk to him about it. I would just go get it and put it under the bed and act like I've had it for a couple months, bring it out and be like, he's like, oh, where you get that from? I've been had this. Um, but it's just having that conversation, the other person being um receptive of you know the finances.

SPEAKER_03

Definitely didn't have it the whole time. It's probably last week. And she told me, Oh, I've been at this since like you believe it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I meant to say like 23 hours. Yeah. For 23 hours. But you be acting like you believe it.

SPEAKER_03

Because I don't all of you that are watching this on YouTube, you should be already liking and subscribing. Subscribe first, then like it, then share your subscriptions with the world.

SPEAKER_01

Please and thank you.

SPEAKER_03

And thank you, and please. Forgot to say that. That was very important that I needed to pass that on to you. But yeah, so just had that conversation with the impulsive buyer. But even if it's not an impulsive buyer, would they really have a problem that nobody raised them like that to be like, hey, you doing too much, you gotta chill out. Some people, believe it or not, have not been raised like that.

SPEAKER_02

So I don't think it's really like oh, I think that too, like you're not but you've not been raised like that. But I also think that people it's like a um an addiction.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Of like buying and spending money is an addiction. It's what is that stuff called? Like a dopamine. Endorphins.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, dopamine, dopamine, releasing them endorphins because it's a sign of happiness. It gives you a happy feeling. It gives you like that rush. I'd rather give my rush in other ways, but you know. Such as Hey, I told you.

SPEAKER_02

I hope you hit. That button in time.

SPEAKER_03

I didn't. Did anybody hear that? Nope. Oh dear. You didn't. Oh dear.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. Well, I guess your phone thing just ain't going over so well, huh?

SPEAKER_03

I mean, whatever. Somebody got a call in order for it to go over, whatever way. We do got a comment. You say, what now? Yeah. I bet you he is.

SPEAKER_02

Yes.

SPEAKER_03

The trash man is here.

SPEAKER_02

No, my baby is never on trash. Speaking of trash, though. Ooh. Speaking of trash. So and trash and spending.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Okay. With that song, uh, Missy Elliott, hey big spender. You gotta be one of them for this your thing. Go ahead, proceed, please.

SPEAKER_02

So, as I butter him up, you all know that Usher and Chris Brown decided to go on tour together. Thank you, Lord.

SPEAKER_03

I know Usher's at the church.

SPEAKER_02

That's what the Usher's out of there. So I've been seeing like all over TikTok, all over social media, how ladies have put together these videos saying like what they'll do to get Usher and Chris Brown tickets.

SPEAKER_03

Unbelievable.

SPEAKER_02

My question to you and to you all out there. We all know at these concerts, Chris Brown puts on a very awesome show.

SPEAKER_03

Provocative.

SPEAKER_02

Very pro provocative. So does Usher. Chris Brown likes to bring ladies on stage, you know, straddle, maybe kiss. Usher, the whole cherry thing, which I that just still blows my mind because that's kind of actually that's just nasty. Oh my god! So how do how would you feel if I not that I want to go with a group of girls because I'd rather go with you, like honestly. But do you feel that that is an environment where all the how can I put this into words where you could trust well you can always trust me? I'm I'm trying to say this without. Um spit it out. I'm trying to spit it out. Do you think that's the environment that it should just be just girls only because of like the the provocative things and the possibility of getting pulled on stage, the possibility of sucking on a cherry or two? Um is that would you would you spend hundreds of dollars to get me a ticket for me to go with a group of friends? You not go knowing that that could occur.

SPEAKER_03

Hey, hey, look at my face as he says this. Bruh. Okay. Bruh. Girl, you said hundreds of dollars. Them things is more than hundreds of dollars. I mean, I would be talking thousands of dollars. We're talking about a pair of Jimmy chews. Okay, so would you Jimmy?

SPEAKER_02

Now that I know the question I'm trying to ask, and I'm not stuttering. Um now that I'm not stuttering. So say we're not married, right? Say we're dating, and I'm like, hey, I want to go to this concert with my girlfriends. You've already seen all the footage from both shows, and now they combined.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And I'm like, it's just gonna be the girls, it's just us though. How's that go over?

SPEAKER_03

I mean, it goes over well because all I'm gonna do is pay for the nose, bleach, so your ass can't get close to them. You can watch it from way up there. They got jumbotrons and everything in there. You can go ahead and watch that from row 528, uh, row H, seat 37. Okay, no taking. I ain't never seen nobody go that high as a performer. I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

No, no, no, Chris Brown be fine flying through the rafters.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, but he ain't about to hit the brakes in the nose. We'd be like, hey, you right there. Come here, let me take you down.

SPEAKER_02

You never know, you never know. But I I'm really excited to see how this show goes. Like that, they're two awesome performers.

SPEAKER_03

No, all jokes aside, it's really gonna be a good show. I enjoy both of their music. So it was uh uh somebody had a question on the internet, not here on this show, but it was uh whoa, whoa, wait a minute.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, okay, Shantae. Yes, thanks, sis. There we go.

SPEAKER_03

Hey, and I go be sure to tell security to not let either one of you in.

SPEAKER_02

So you I can go.

SPEAKER_03

Family shamley, you're not going in. Call me, yeah. Call me. I will get her number forwarded to my phone so you call her, and I'ma answer and say, get the f out of here. She ain't going no more. But anyway, before I was ruling interrupted by Miss Champion.

SPEAKER_02

See, and Andrea said maybe she's too nice.

SPEAKER_03

Well, I mean, what do you mean? I don't care if she goes, I really don't. Because what they gonna do?

SPEAKER_02

You never know. Like, I've been backstage at concerts, like being a girl that gets picked out of a concert, the stuff that goes down backstage, you'd be surprised.

SPEAKER_03

And guess what? You the one that's gotta live with that for the rest of your life.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yeah. I mean, when you see what they're doing, I'll never forget. Oh my goodness.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, and once again, you're gonna have to live with that moment for the rest of your life. Make that decision if you want to.

SPEAKER_02

At the and I can't believe I'm about to say his name, but I love his music still.

SPEAKER_03

R. Kelly.

SPEAKER_02

The one of the last concerts.

SPEAKER_03

Somebody got an urge to go to the bathroom.

SPEAKER_02

One of his last concerts here in Cleveland probably was 2007. I'm thinking. I don't know. It was before we were married.

SPEAKER_03

Before he was Akon. No, he locked up. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, he should have been locked up at this point.

SPEAKER_03

And please don't let him out.

SPEAKER_02

Um, second row floor seats, and there was recruiters that go around and pick girls out of the crowd. We actually saw that at the new edition concert as well. And I got picked, and a couple of girls I was with got picked. We go backstage. As soon as you hit the back, they're asking for IDs. Which I didn't know why he cared at that point.

SPEAKER_03

Like, too late, brother.

SPEAKER_02

But when we turned that corner and I saw what I saw, I was like, we all were like, we're good. See you later by. Ain't I'm sorry. That is just like you, it was like girls standing in line ready to ride a ride. Oh, literally.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, they was riding a ride, all right. They were riding.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my gosh. So they're yeah, backstage at concerts are real. But if I go with Shantae, obviously that's not gonna happen because I would be with my sister and I'm married. Before first and foremost, I'm married, happily married.

SPEAKER_03

You should have said this when you turned the corner.

SPEAKER_02

I did.

SPEAKER_03

Whoa, what is going on back here? Hey, hey, Mel, you you know what I'm about to say. You know what Robert said that night? I don't know the whole time. People y'all had to be there, y'all have to watch that Gail interview with R. Kelly. Gail King and R.

SPEAKER_02

Kelly.

SPEAKER_03

There's so many hilarious parts in that interview. It's just straight comedy for me.

SPEAKER_02

He just at that point just should have worn a shirt instead of me just that said I'm guilty because he was saying so much that it was just like, Robert, please. But I I'm sorry, I still love that man's music. Yeah, no, I still love that man's music. I was like, I never love his music, but that was my story of what I saw backstage.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, well, I've never been in that situation, so can't identify with it. But like I said, if you go there, and I ain't talking about you personally, if anybody goes there and you in a relationship, a marriage or whatever, and you go backstage, yeah. Sorry for your soul, yeah, because you're gonna have to deal with that for the rest of your life.

SPEAKER_02

And is it even worth it though? Like it's is it even worth it for them?

SPEAKER_03

It is clearly.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, no, sorry, no, thank you. I love Chris Brown, I love Usher, but I live my husband.

SPEAKER_03

Um me. You, you, I'm me. We the uses. We the uses. Yeah, okay. I didn't know where you were going with that. I just wanted to say that because I saw it in the background like that. Who's that lady with the spike hair?

SPEAKER_02
