THEE BIG SWING
Your Story. Your Turning Point. Your Next Move.

At the beginning of the year, Lloyd Hassell and I sat down for a powerful conversation about taking chances, embracing change, and making the moves that can transform our lives.

Now, as we reach the halfway point of the year, the question remains:

Have you taken your Big Swing yet?

In this special encore presentation from my former show, Single Lady Chronicles, Lloyd Hassell—host and creator of Thee Big Swing—shares insights on purpose, possibility, personal growth, and the moments that challenge us to step into something greater.

Whether you're watching for the first time or revisiting the conversation, the message is just as relevant today as it was when it first aired.

SPEAKER_04

All right, all right, all right, it's 2026. Is this it? Single Lady Chronicles, Single Lady Chronicles, oh thank you so much for tuning in. It's a single lady Chronicles. This is our first show out of the new year. I'm so excited. Why? Because 2025 is gone and it is 2026. And today's show is called The Big Swing. Your story, your turning point, your next move. And yes, I have a guest. I have a guest. You've seen him before. This is his third time on the show. He's a recurring guest, my friend Lloyd V. Hassel. Come on in. Come on in.

SPEAKER_02

Renatha, Renatha, my dear. Your energy is boundless.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, thank you so much for being here.

SPEAKER_02

Boundless.

SPEAKER_04

Oh my goodness.

SPEAKER_02

Can we bottle that energy?

SPEAKER_04

Yes. I mean.

SPEAKER_02

And market it.

SPEAKER_04

I mean, actually, you know, I'm the only Renatha in the world, and there's nobody else like me. So, you know, there's that. There's that.

SPEAKER_00

I agree. I agree. Totally.

SPEAKER_04

Right. So, listen, it's 2026. The year has started. And I asked my friend Lloyd to come on because he decided to start his podcast right before the year ended. And his podcast is called The Big Swing. Let me go to virtual applause, virtual applause, virtual applause. Congratulations on starting your podcast. You did it on New Year's Eve.

SPEAKER_02

I did. I did. I did. Because I had made a promise, well, I had spoken it to someone. And um they asked me, well, when are you gonna launch your podcast? And so I made a proclamation, oh, before the end of the year.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And that was on Thanksgiving Day.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And then it was the end of the year, and I said, Well, I have to do it. Very good. And you did it. And you did it. Yeah, it felt good. It felt good.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I was on your show. We'll talk about that in a second.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

We'll talk about that in a second. Yes, ma'am. But you know, in 2026, we want to begin the year off, and we want to have the year be with intention, with honesty, and with courage. And so that's why I had Lloyd come on today. He started his new podcast called The Big Swing, The Big Swing. Um, and it's about talking about what storytelling pivotal moments in your life. Pivotal moments in your life. You'll get a little bit more into that a little later. Sure. Um, and so you know, I just wanted to go ahead and start the conversation. This is a conversation. Lloyd's podcast is not an interview, as he was so eloquently telling me, I'm not interviewing nobody. We're just having a conversation.

SPEAKER_02

You picked up on that, huh? She's good. Yes. She's good.

SPEAKER_04

We're just having a conversation. So tonight we're gonna have a conversation.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

We're interviewing, we're not interviewing, we are um encouraging folks to think about their big swing if they had one before. Um, and if you have not had a big swing, listen, 2020, it's 2026, it's a new year, it's time, it's gonna happen. Um, so yes, we're not why the big swing? Why the why that name?

SPEAKER_02

Good question. So, okay, here let me take let me take everyone back to where it was. For years, I had thought about being a member of a podcast or starting one, but like many things in my life, I thought, oh, I don't know anything about it, I don't know how to do it, and so on and so forth. So then it became one of those things that I didn't get around to. So, Thanksgiving evening 2025, I was at a cousin's house, and his wife just so happened to work with a production company that handles podcasts. Wow. Video podcasts. Okay, and so I'd said to her, Oh, I I'm thinking of starting a podcast. And she said, Oh, really? Whoa, tell me about it. And I said, Well, it's gonna be a show where people can come on and tell their stories. And the whole premise is that we all learn from one another or we can. So by sharing a story, maybe someone will hear something, whether the person had a great success or not, it doesn't matter. But the fact that they took a big swing at an idea. So I even think that a big swing can be, even if you haven't actualized it yet, yeah, it's in your imagination. The only other thing to do is take it out of your imagination and bring it into the world.

SPEAKER_03

Bring it into the world.

SPEAKER_02

That's it, and give it life. Because I once, and I I know I'm I don't want to ramble, but I heard someone say, you know, on your deathbed one day, imagine that all the ghosts of your great ideas are standing around. And you folks probably may have heard this as well, but he said, Imagine they're standing around your bed and they're looking at you. And some are weeping and they're they're they're upset and frustrated, and they're saying, We came to you. Huh? We came to you because you were the only one to give us life. But now we all have to go to the grave together.

SPEAKER_03

Wow.

SPEAKER_02

And he said, the the guy said to the other guy, what do you think you'll feel like if that were to happen? And you know, that's something to think about, which I don't think we think about enough.

SPEAKER_03

Right.

SPEAKER_02

But these ideas come to us for a reason.

SPEAKER_03

Huh. Say that.

SPEAKER_02

We don't all have to win.

SPEAKER_03

That's right.

SPEAKER_02

We don't all have to be a success or a celebrity. That's not the point. The point is to be you and let your life shine through you. Let your idea shine through you.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Just let it shine. You said a bunch of stuff in there. If I was on my deathbed and the ghost of my ideas standing around me. Yes. We're going, we're dying with you.

SPEAKER_02

We're dying with you. We're gonna dine with you. We're taking a city ground.

SPEAKER_04

So that's why you have to take a big swing in life. It doesn't matter how you do it. I'm about to get into mine, but um, that was so good, Lloyd. Thank you so much. Um, so I was your first guest.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, there was no one else, no one else that I would rather have had as my first guest because you helped me get started.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

That's that's the truth. And like I said, I told my cousin's wife what I intended to do, and then she asked me when. And I just blurted out before the end of the year with no plan, no equipment, no anything, right? And then as the year began to close out more and more, I procrastinated and procrastinated and procrastinated. And I said to myself, it's New Year's Eve. I I just gotta put something out tonight, period. Yeah, period.

SPEAKER_04

That's what taking a big swing is. Listen, doing it afraid, doing it alone, doing it on janky equipment, okay, going on out there and getting done what you say you want to get done, accomplishing your goals.

SPEAKER_02

That's that's really living because otherwise, what are you doing? Right, right. The bare minimum? That's probably not enough. That's not enough. You deserve more. We deserve more.

SPEAKER_04

So would you say um you're 2025 big swing? I mean, you one of your big swings is starting your podcast?

SPEAKER_02

I don't know. Yes and no. Okay. Um, it was a lot easier than I thought. I didn't have special recording. So easy. You even said to me, Lloyd, just let's just record.

SPEAKER_04

We don't do this on your phone.

SPEAKER_02

Record on the phone, and I'm thinking, well, no, I have to have the microphone and the headphones and this, and and that was a big swing for me to get off the fence and not think that something had to be so-called uh perfect in that regard. But 25 was full of several big swings for me. But the show was a big swing that I actualized an idea. And I don't have to, I don't have to think about what if I had done that. Now it may it may only be what it is, and that's okay with me.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

It may not become a grand thing.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

But the the grandness, grandness in it is that I actually did it, I enjoy it, and I'll just keep giving it as much time and energy as I as I want to.

SPEAKER_04

Well, I'll say, um, when you told me that you were going to start it, and you told me the name of it, and basically the premise of it, I was like, dude, I wish I thought of it. You know, I wish I thought of that. It's brilliant. Um, you are literally um having conversations with everyday people.

SPEAKER_01

People, we're all people.

SPEAKER_04

Yes, with everyday people. You don't care how big or small they are in society. You are just asking them, what was your big swing?

SPEAKER_02

That's it.

SPEAKER_04

And their story might inspire somebody.

SPEAKER_02

It might. Yeah. And and what to do, or maybe what not to do in their case in their life. And um, everyone has a story to tell. I mean, telling stories has been around for a very long time, right? And that's why they resonate with us. Some people call some stories gossip, some people call some stories informative, but we all like to say something to someone else and see what they think. Yeah. And that's what it's about.

SPEAKER_04

I again, like I said, it's a brilliant idea. Um thank you. I might, on my show, um, on my show, steal it a couple times. Maybe, maybe once a quarter.

SPEAKER_01

Let's just keep it real. Haven't you already?

unknown

Haven't I already?

SPEAKER_06

Hello! We're in the crossover episode!

SPEAKER_02

But still crossover episode. But see the big swing, right?

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, exactly.

SPEAKER_02

I have an idea, I put it into the world. Yeah. It it sparked something in you, right? That's the that's the idea.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

That's the idea.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. I definitely told when I said, well, what is my first show going to be for the new year? Um, and because of the nature of your show, it made sense. It because it helps people think about their story, it helps people think about their turning point, and it helps people think about their next move. Um, and when better to do that than at the beginning of the year and carry that throughout, right? Okay. Um, so yeah. So listen, you are also your second show was you. You and that is true. Yeah, your second show was you. Why did you just why did you decide to tell your own big swing?

SPEAKER_02

Well, that was a big swing because in my second episode, I exposed myself.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I said some things about me that some people know, but I don't go around in public and broadcast. Pardon me. So in that second episode, I told a part of my story, and it had to do with my mental health, and it had to do with how I treated others, and frankly, how I treated others badly, and how I came to that, and then how it came to a point where it just was too much. And I tell my story in that episode. Um, because if we can't be real, in my opinion, yeah, and authentic, vulnerable, and strive for honesty, right, then how can we grow?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

How can we become more? This is how I think.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Everyone doesn't think like me, and I'm okay with that. So that second episode is very personal. It talks about the problems I created in my marriages, uh, the harm I did to my children, the harm that was done to me, you know. But I think the silver lining in it is that I could share how I decided to change things and become better. Become become healthy.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And it's a journey, right?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

But um it's gotta start somewhere at some point. You know, enough is enough, and then uh I told my story. And there's more to tell, but uh, I wanted to at least get that out there.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, definitely. Um, you know, what you shared on that show was um very um profound and uh you had to be vulnerable.

SPEAKER_05

I was of course.

SPEAKER_04

I was um so what did you think changed or what what um impacted you um after you were able to tell your story publicly?

SPEAKER_02

Well, so here's the deal. I remember Barack Obama had some book, I don't remember the title, but I think in the book, from what I recall, he talked about his recreational drug use as a younger man and some other things. And I thought, yeah, that's pretty brilliant. Because if he put it out there in his own words, yeah, right, it can't be weaponized against him. I didn't do the show for that reason. I really wanted to speak to whomever would listen to the big swing and say, well, you know, if this guy can tell his story, and this is highly personal, then you know what, I can be authentic and open up and share my truth too, or my experiences. Because there's no way that I can sit down with someone and ask them about their story, right? And not be willing to tell mine, is what I was thinking. So after that, and and I realized, whoa, dude, you put you put your stuff, your business out there in the digital age, and it's never going away.

SPEAKER_04

Right.

SPEAKER_02

It's always gonna be somewhere.

SPEAKER_04

Right.

SPEAKER_02

I'm okay with it. I'm okay with it because you know what, we all have a story, and some of the stories aren't necessarily pretty and neat.

SPEAKER_00

Absolutely.

SPEAKER_02

So what's what's different about me? So I'm I'm cool with it in that regard. And if I didn't want anyone to know, I wouldn't have shared it.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Simple.

SPEAKER_04

Nuggets, nuggets, and it was something powerful in you know, sharing your own story because what you say can also, again, help somebody else.

SPEAKER_02

I hope so.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I hope so because a lot of it had to do with my mental health, depression, right? Um violent anger, sometimes violence, and how I got to be like that. And you know what? I would hope that somebody would hear that and they would save themselves from some of the pain that I created for myself and for others that loved me. So yeah, I hope somebody learns from that. I mean, I really do.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I hope.

SPEAKER_04

There are so many, you know, um conversations that are detrimental to people, you know. Um, your goal with this podcast is to make sure that somebody can glean from whatever you put out from any um person, um, any, you know, random, regular, old degular person. And not that, you know, regular degular um is a bad thing because, you know, we're all just living this human experience together, right?

SPEAKER_05

This is true.

SPEAKER_04

We're all just living this human experience. Doesn't matter how much money you have, doesn't matter how much money I have, right? We can all learn from each other.

SPEAKER_02

Listen, every there are billionaires and multi-billionaires in the world. We all know this, millionaires, people of all economic strata, right? Or levels. I can believe that they all experience everything that everyone else experiences, maybe in different degrees.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Money doesn't exclude you from the emotional side of life. I know that's right. It just doesn't. Wealthy people get divorced all the time.

SPEAKER_04

Didn't Biggie, didn't Biggie say more money, more problems?

SPEAKER_02

More money, more problems.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_04

Now that's for the folks who don't know how to, you know, handle it, okay? Listen, give me the money, okay, and I'll tell you how to use it, alright?

SPEAKER_02

All right. When you get it, share some.

SPEAKER_04

All right, indeed, indeed. Here we go. So um my show, my big swing, I'll divulge my big swing, but um, listen, his uh podcast is on.

SPEAKER_02

You're not starting a family, are you?

SPEAKER_04

Am I starting a family?

SPEAKER_02

Oh, let me get a sip here. Is that your book? Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.

SPEAKER_06

Oh my god. We're gonna put that in the comments. We're gonna put that in the comments, you'll see.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

We got that from Cam Newton.

SPEAKER_04

Cam Newton and shit it is. But anyway, um, so my one of my big swings, I gotta go back because I got some other stuff that I have another.

SPEAKER_02

But you didn't answer the question. Are you starting a family?

SPEAKER_03

No, I'm not starting a family.

SPEAKER_02

Let me know. I'm one of the things. Oh, go ahead. I'm starting to find a family. No, okay. Pardon me, folks.

SPEAKER_04

Cheese and crackers.

SPEAKER_02

And all of that.

SPEAKER_04

So, um, one of my big swings was that I started my web series, Single Lady Chronicles.

SPEAKER_02

Um I didn't know you started it in 25.

SPEAKER_04

I started in 25.

SPEAKER_02

Folks, I didn't know. That's a show. She didn't tell me. Well, well, we just met. There's a little bit more disclosure. Do you want to disclose or should I? I'm yes, I we met September. This is a proclamation. We missed September 6th, 2025.

SPEAKER_04

Mm-hmm. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And I thought So you start when did you start it?

SPEAKER_04

I started my show May 31st, 2025.

SPEAKER_02

I didn't know she existed then.

SPEAKER_04

Right.

SPEAKER_02

And and vice versa.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. So um starting this web series. Um, and the reason why I call it a web ser, well, y'all know, the reason why I call it a web series is because, you know, I'm likening it to a TV show, because one of these days it's gonna be a TV show. Um what I said on your show was that um the reason why it was a big swing for me is because I came from TV. I was on the Dr. Oz show for seven seasons, and as far as I'm concerned, in the back of my head, whatever I do needs to be just as good as an Oprah-produced Dr. Oz show. Okay. But a friend of mine was like, do the do the web series. You know, we're single lady chronicles. One day she was having men drama and she was like, start the show. And I was like, you know what? I will. I will. And for me, it's not necessarily like just sitting at a table all the time. If you've seen my show, you know, we're doing interactive things. I liken it to a TV show because that is where that is just the trajectory of how I want it to, of how I want it to evolve. Um, and so that was my big swing for 2025. And you said my show got more, my show having more listens, right? My show, you have two, you have two shows or you and he's like, listen, I don't care. Go ahead.

SPEAKER_02

Well, can I speak for you? Or you what do you want me to do?

SPEAKER_04

No, so I was saying that since you started your show, you got a lot more downloads for my show. Did you say that?

SPEAKER_02

Well, let's keep it real on the show.

SPEAKER_04

Did you say that?

SPEAKER_02

No.

SPEAKER_06

No, excuse me, I'm speaking out of turn. I'm speaking out of turn.

SPEAKER_02

What I said was Renatha had been gracious enough to place or make the existence of my show known in her social media. And as a result of it, right, there have been some downloads, more downloads than I expected, that have gone gone, been attributed to her being on the show, listening to her episode, because our my podcast, not mine, the podcast, his podcast, is not video.

SPEAKER_03

You're a brainchild.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I don't know if anyone would want to see it is not video. See me on video. Stop it. It's not video, it's audio. And I believe because you put it on your social media, people are coming to listen to what you have to say. And you had a she had a lot to say.

SPEAKER_04

Thank you for that. You know, again, like we've been saying, as long as what you're doing is let helping people tell their story so that somebody else can be blessed. And hopefully what people are listening to on your podcast is something that's able to help them. And so that was the point of me saying, you know, the down those. Hopefully, somebody's hopefully somebody's being blessed. Hopefully somebody's being helped by what I had to say.

SPEAKER_02

I can tell you that someone told me, someone I know told me they listened to your episode and that that you you said some things that were helpful to them. Another woman told me. Yeah. And so already what you put into the universe is making has made contributions.

SPEAKER_05

Amen.

SPEAKER_02

And Renalfa's episode is titled Um Bet betting on yourself.

SPEAKER_04

Betting on yourself. Because that's exactly what I did. You know, in my living room, still on my equipment. But, you know, Rome wasn't built in a day. And hopefully, you know, even you watching this show right now, listen, you don't, it doesn't have to be spectacular. It doesn't, well, it's go, it is spectacular. Uh-huh. But it doesn't have to be perfect. Just do it.

SPEAKER_00

Well, what is perfect? Right. Exactly. What is perfect? Exactly. What is perfect? Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

What is perfect?

SPEAKER_04

Whose standards are you living by anyway?

SPEAKER_02

I'm not seen perfect yet. Exactly. 61 years old.

SPEAKER_04

Hello. He likes to say how old he is because he doesn't look at it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, because I'm still here.

SPEAKER_04

Yes! Listen! The blessing.

SPEAKER_02

It is definitely a blessing. Oh, and I wanted to add. The big swing is not scripted. I generally have not at all. There's one or two questions that I will ask everyone, and that is please tell us about your big swing. Or what is it?

SPEAKER_04

That's it. Yeah, that's it. That's why I thought it's brilliant.

SPEAKER_02

We go from there.

SPEAKER_04

It's brilliant. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Look, I'm scratching my nose on your show. That's not perfect.

SPEAKER_04

It's okay.

SPEAKER_02

But it's human.

SPEAKER_00

Oh gosh. All right, so. It is what it is.

SPEAKER_04

Um the big swing is the moment you choose conviction over comfort and commit fully to the decision that changes your trajectory.

SPEAKER_02

You are starting a family. Oh my god.

SPEAKER_04

Stop it!

SPEAKER_02

You're giving up single womanhood. I'll read it again. You're giving up single womanhood.

SPEAKER_04

I'll read it again.

SPEAKER_02

Wow.

SPEAKER_04

The big swing is the moment you choose conviction over comfort and commit fully to the decision that changes your trajectory.

SPEAKER_02

And may I add something? Talk about we don't know how it's gonna change our trajectory. And that's why we call it life.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

We don't know.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

If it's gonna go up, down, sideways, south, north, east, or west. But just taking the shot, taking the swing.

SPEAKER_04

And what does it cost for people to take a big swing? What does it cost?

SPEAKER_02

The release of fear, maybe.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, keep going, keep going.

SPEAKER_02

Maybe the release of self-doubt. Maybe the embrace of self-belief. May take different things for different people.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

But at least at some point in our your life, my life, our lives, we want to try something.

SPEAKER_03

Try something.

SPEAKER_02

Something.

unknown

Right.

SPEAKER_02

Something. Try something. And I'm speaking to myself because there have been many things in life I haven't tried yet, frankly. So um this show is kind of a product of realizing that.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And being real with myself about it.

SPEAKER_04

Say that, sir. Being in real with yourself.

SPEAKER_02

Snap, snap.

SPEAKER_04

Snap, snap. You want to snap with me?

SPEAKER_02

Bomb, bomp, bomp, bom. My snaps are not that fluid, but it snaps. You did alright. Okay. All right, thank you.

SPEAKER_04

So is a big swing big or small?

SPEAKER_02

It only matters to how the individual describes it. Maybe someone's big swing, and I'm just talking off the top of my head. Maybe their big swing is going to the gym for the first time. Maybe their big swing is stepping into a college classroom for the first time. Maybe their big swing is having a child. Well, that's a big swing. A child for the first time. You know, I don't know what people's stories are. That's why it's interesting for me to sit down and talk with them and listen and hear what their story is.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

So, you know, it doesn't necessarily have to be, oh, you started a podcast, oh, you started a web series. Um, like you said, you went to the gym, okay, you got on, you you did the trail mill for 30 minutes. That's a big swing for you. Right? Could be. It could be that you overcame diabetes, right?

SPEAKER_02

After after not doing the work that you could have to be remitted from a diabetic, diabetic health pattern.

SPEAKER_04

Right. And so it doesn't matter what or how large or small it is, so long as you tell your story for someone else to be able to be blessed by it. Yeah. Well, I I told you, I tell you, I love this show. I love this show. It's brilliant because again, it's not, I mean, you have something on your hands that can literally go viral. I'm saying it. I'm saying it. He don't care. See, that's the thing, right? That's you know, his other big swing is that he has humility. He has humility in that he's like, look, I'm doing organic reach. I'm not putting no money on it. I'm just having a conversation with everyday people so that somebody else can learn from somebody else's story. And so that's why I just I just think that it's it's so brilliant, you know?

SPEAKER_02

Well, I'm glad you I'm glad you feel that way. Yeah. The whole thing is that the show isn't, the podcast is not about me. That's one of the reasons it's not on video.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

It's about exactly what it's about. Someone's ability and decision to take a chance at something.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And, you know, they don't even have to have succeeded at it, as far as I'm concerned. But just the fact that they did it is what's meaningful, in my opinion. And I'm I imagine their opinion as well. Because it's their story, they're telling it.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. So what do you say to people who have um who think that they've never had a big swing in their life and it's a new year, we're making resolutions, we're manifesting. You know, what do you say to someone who is on the cusp of something great, or who has ideas, or who um wants to do something, but they they have fear in the back of their mind? What do you say?

SPEAKER_02

Okay, so this is gonna sound maybe morbid, or maybe it'll sound slightly intelligent. Okay, okay, because sometimes I go to a cemetery, or I have in the past, or I drive by, or I stand outside a cemetery, and I think everybody in there that's underground had everyone had there's all sorts of problems in the cemetery that were. All sorts of ideas died with those people. That's what I would say. Let's folk, you asked me about ideas, right?

SPEAKER_05

Yes.

SPEAKER_02

The cemetery is full of people, or cemeteries are full of people that had ideas. Some of them that were great just because they were what they were, and they never saw the light of day. The cemetery is full of untold stories. So don't take it to the grave with you. If you if you have a shot to take the swing, take the swing. If you fall on your face, so what? You know, we can rebound.

SPEAKER_04

And the big swing doesn't always have to be um there was a win, right? The big swing doesn't always have to be, oh, I I did it and it worked out. Even there's there's um there is some learning even in those stories where it didn't work out.

SPEAKER_02

If if we want to, I think we can learn in everything. Right. The only person that can judge their story is themselves. Hello. Doesn't matter what I think of my guest's story or someone else's story, if it's meaningful to them, yeah, if they told me that they learned how to make a hundred dollars washing windows, I might think, well, I don't know, that's not so such a big deal, right? Let's say I wouldn't say that to them, and I would listen with all sincerity, but for them that was a win.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So who are we? Who are we to say? If they think it's a win, it's a win. For me, it's a win beginning a podcast and having two episodes in the world. That's all that, that's all it is so.

SPEAKER_00

It's a win, okay. It's a win. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

It's a win. That's how I see it.

SPEAKER_04

Let me go to what I think you're, I think you changed it. The big swing is a podcast about high conviction decisions, the moments when hesitation ends and commitment begins through personal stories, hard lessons, and real-world risk. The show explores what it means to choose agency over comfort and take responsibility for the moves that define your life.

SPEAKER_02

Wow, Renata, you really know how to say things. That's that's heavy.

SPEAKER_04

Not at all.

SPEAKER_02

Let's ask the audience, what do you think, folks? Is that heavy?

SPEAKER_04

It's not heavy.

SPEAKER_02

It's heavy in the sense that it has some some meat on the bones. You know, meat on the bones.

SPEAKER_04

Definitely.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_04

It just so I would agree with that. It's 2026, right?

SPEAKER_02

As we call it.

SPEAKER_04

Whether whether you're 18 to 25, or 25 to 35, or 35 to 55, right?

SPEAKER_00

Go higher.

SPEAKER_06

Listen.

SPEAKER_02

I didn't do it. I'm just the guest.

SPEAKER_04

Listen, I'm just taking big swings, okay? I'm taking big swings. What we gonna do is keep going, okay?

SPEAKER_02

That's life. Sometimes, I mean, I remember 1977 and the power, the lights went out in New York City. That happens. Then it happened again around 2000 something, the early 2000s, the lights went out in the city. So the show went offline for a little bit. We'll be all right.

SPEAKER_04

We'll be all right. We'll be all right. So, um, listen, in 2026, you may not have done your resolution already, right? Or you may or you may be saying to yourself, eh, what do I want to do a resolution for? All I'm gonna do is stop and start. I mean, you know, stop and start and start and stop. Um, or, you know, you might be, and that sounds like you might be in a rut, right? You might be in a rut. Take 2026 to tell yourself that I've had big swings and I have more big swings to go. Because we live this life every day, day in and day out, and it is what we make of it. Life is too short for you to second guess yourself, life is too short for you to second shortchange yourself, and we only have one life to live, and we may as well do what we are called to do. Any other thoughts concerning your podcast and motivating the people to take a chance and go ahead with their big swing?

SPEAKER_02

So, as much as I like you, the show doesn't attempt to motivate anyone.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I get it.

SPEAKER_02

No motivation. Yeah, don't know what drive I don't know what drives anybody except myself. 2026, I know I imagine I'm gonna receive it one day at a time.

SPEAKER_04

There you go.

SPEAKER_02

So personally, I'm not trying to live 2026 yet. I may have lived it at the end of 2026 as we keep time, as as we know time and we track it, but I've learned to try to live it one day at a time because that's how it's portioned out. We get a day period and we get a night period. There's your that's it. And this day period may be your last, or this day period and night period may be your last. So today's what you got. This is the day that you can do something if you choose to. I've been alive more than 22,000 days. A lot of those days I wasted, I gotta be frank. A lot of those days I took for granted. A lot of those days I was unthankful for it. That's the same as taking them for granted. The days don't keep coming forever, at least as far as I know. So, you get it like that? Do something with it in that day.

SPEAKER_04

I love it. In that day, be intentional, be honest, and have courage. That is taking a big swing.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

Thank you, Lloyd.

SPEAKER_06

Thank you, Lloyd.

SPEAKER_00

Jay, you're welcome.

SPEAKER_04

I appreciate you so much. Love you, dude.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I love you too. I can't call you, dude. You got different parts and so that.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, don't be afraid to take a big swing day by day, right?

SPEAKER_00

So we get it.

SPEAKER_04

Day by day. Um, but make sure you do with intentionality, with honesty, and with courage. Thank you for two single lady chronicles. Now listen, I have an announcement, okay? Something's happening with Single Lady Chronicles in 2026. Something's happening with Single Lady Chronicles in 2026. Not yet, not yet. It's coming, but please be on the lookout. Change is coming. Thank you so much for two. Good night.

SPEAKER_02

Good night.
