House of the Kami is coming mid-April… and I couldn’t keep it to myself any longer.

In this episode, I’m sharing a moment from Book 2 in The Yakuza’s Jewel series—where power, devotion, and love collide in ways that don’t always come gently.

This story takes you deeper into the lives of the Endo, the Chaichana, and the Kang—where empires are tested, families are built, and love is something that must survive both softness and fire.

If this moment pulled you in… there’s more waiting for you.

I’ve created a limited special edition book box for House of the Kami—featuring a signed hardcover, exclusive artwork, character-inspired details, and more.

The waitlist is live now, and those on it will get early access when pre-orders open (plus a chance at exclusive gifts).

Come a little closer… you’re only seeing a piece of it.

Hello everyone! I've been quiet for a reason, and I think you're gonna understand why. House of the Kami is coming out mid-April. This is book two in the Yakuza Jewel series, and everything you thought you understood in the first book, it's about to go deeper. House of the Kami takes place two years after the events of the Yakuza Jewel. The dust has settled, the power has shifted, and now we see what it truly costs to hold an empire. This story moves deeper into the lives of three ruling factions, the Indo, the Chaichana, and the Kong. The Indo sit at the top, but power like that doesn't stay quiet for long. As the Dragon Lotus triads begin to stir unrest across Asia, Haruki Indo is forced to make a choice, one that will secure his empire in blood and fire, or watch it fracture beneath him. But this isn't just war. This is family. The Chai Chana are newly married, building something steady in Thailand, balancing power with fatherhood, loyalty with love. And the Kong? After everything that fractured in Anai, Ella has stepped fully into herself, into her power. And Chang, he doesn't resist it. He kneels. This book isn't just about what happens next. It's about what happens after the choosing, when love, power, and legacy have to live in the same house, and whether any of them can survive what they've built. And because I love y'all a little too much, I didn't just write the book. I created a special edition book box. Signed hardcover, exclusive art you won't see anywhere else. Pieces you can wear, keep, hold on to. And my favorite part: you will be able to choose a member of the Inner Five, and your box will carry a scent tied to him. Now listen, this is important. The wait list is live right now. This is not the pre-order. This is your way to get early access before everyone else. And when the pre-orders open, the first 10 people they get something special from me. So go to my website, www.tierathenovelist.com. Get on the list and make sure you're in position when it drops. And because I couldn't just leave y'all like this, I have something for you. An exclusive preview of House of the Kami. This is what it looks like when it's at peace. This is Andromacha with her family. It's a fundraiser for the city. I'm expected to show up. Haruki pretends to sip his cup as he sits at the comically small table with a rose pink tea hat on his head, tilted slightly to the left. I have to give a speech. Keynote, whatever the fuck they call it. Language, Keiko and I say at the same time. Daddy, it's no tea yet, no, Keiko giggles, taking the cup from him. Butler, she calls sweetly. I can hear Kenzo walking up the stairs. Yes, your Highness. He has rabbit ears on and blue blush across his cheeks. God, I'm reminded just how much I love these men who will very easily slit a throat and bomb a building when they play pretend with my baby. And you're telling me last minute? I watch as Kenzo sets the tray down. He was trying to leave, but Keiko manages to get him to sit at the table. She pulls his head down to remove the ears, and places a small yellow hat on his head, cocking it just like Haruki's before setting a teacup and plate in front of him. I wasn't planning on going, Haruki answers. My word, your Highness, the help is sitting with us? Kinzo cuts his eyes at Haruki and whispers, Help. Motherfucker, I helped my foot in your ass. Keiko giggles. Lord Kinzo, she corrects her father. Please, Duke Daddy. That's his name. Yes, Duke Daddy, Kinzo lightens his voice. Do have respect for your guests. Why are we British? Haruki reaches for a sandwich and Keiko taps his hand. We're Japanese. Keiko hands out the sandwiches. I'm black. I giggle softly. No one has taught her Japanese tea time. But back to what I was saying. It's a fundraiser for what? Kenzo bites into his sandwich. Lovely refreshments, Your Highness, and I adore your dress. Thank you. Mommy buy it. With more fine motor skills than I expected, she pours the warm tea into their cups. Haruki finishes his sandwich before answering. That park you said needed to be rebuilt. I did it. I stare at my husband. There's a very pretty park nearby. When I was pregnant with Keiko, I used to walk near there and wished it was nicer so I could take her. It's seen better years, but overgrowth and time have worn it down. A year ago, Haruki asked me what I would do to change it. I spent time with planners to come up with designs and layouts that I thought he'd give to a board or council. I wasn't expecting anything to be done so quickly. This kind of thing is usually buried under red tape and bureaucratic bullshit. You did it. You wanted it. Haruki stares at me. What else is a husband supposed to do? Keiko pours more tea into his cup. You a good daddy. And that was a snippet from House of the Kami. The wait list is live. If you want to get in on that special edition buff box, make sure to visit my website www.tiara the novelist.com and get on it. I'm super excited about this, you guys. I wasn't planning on touching anything indo related until November of this year. And I've been pushed back into it and rediscovered my love for these characters. They're fathers now. And so I'm just I'm excited for you guys to see what I've done here, what I've created, and the how the story is expanding. So I'll see you again mid April.
