Sight Zilla interviews Misme in her first graffiti interview. Misme talks about the orgin of her name and her perspective on the graffiti culture.
Alright guys, I'm here with Miss Me. Uh she's a little nervous, so bear with us if she stutters a little bit. Um So we don't like she didn't know I was doing this, so but to her surprise, we are here document her and her graffiti journey and her perspective on graffiti. So um I guess my first question is like why the name miss me?
SPEAKER_00Um well uh it started with um moving from my from my home from East Lows to the Valley. I had met somebody. Um so I was staying on the valley for a whole summer with no phone, no social media. I was always on social media with all my friends, that's how I would get in touch with everybody. Um so those three months I didn't log in back in the day was MySpace. And I got a chance to be on the computer and I was reading all my messages. All my friends were like, Where are you? I miss you, I miss you. So the name clicked at that time. Um, it was supposed to be Miss You, but uh this particular one of my best homies, Fabian, um, he hit me up and he's like, Where you been, Alfood? Because we used to party a lot, and he's like, I miss you, like, and I questioned it. I'm like, You miss me? And he's like, Yeah, what the hell? You're the homegirl. And after that, it just clicked, like, miss me. So I just stuck with it and been riding with it.
SPEAKER_02That's pretty dope, man. It's pretty dope. Um, like, how did how did you get into graffiti? Because, like, I mean, I'm not trying to judge you, but you seem like, you know, the type of girl that's like placed by the rules. That's a goody two shoe kind of girl. Like, how'd you get into it?
SPEAKER_00So actually, my brothers were very strict growing up. Um, they didn't allow me to kick it anywhere in the block, nothing like that. So I was a nerd at in school until I started hanging around with my own crowd. And I got to know a bunch of skaters, a bunch of girls, party scene. I used to go to gigs, dance parties, kickbacks, kicking in Bennett's beach with all the Easter punkers, all the punks, and in that atmosphere of punkers and skaters and the party scene, there was a whole different world I didn't know about, which was like tigers, and my brothers' friends would come over my house and tag up like our dressers, and I would see it, and I would always look at it when I would be home board. I wouldn't really go out sometimes until I got more into it. Uh, being around a lot of people and people introducing me to people, and I got to know different people, and also not just that, but walking down the alley. I I used to go to Garfield High School, so there was an alley where everybody would paint right there. So I would always walk down that alley and just see all this all these bombs, murals, and it caught my eye, and I was like, this is pretty cool. And ever since that I I met some girl, um uh the OG Susia. Sadly she's not around, but she's the one that got me into tagging. Uh we used to kick it right there in Pico Aliso, but um El Pato before it got burnt out, like when we were kids. So we would practice right there tagging, and we were you know, those struggling kids with no money, so we would go to the 99 cent store and and jack a bunch of shoe polish and we would just use those mobs to catch tags, and after that, it was that was it. It just that's something I picked up and I liked and like I said, I just went with it.
SPEAKER_02So, like what do you what do you consider yourself as? That you consider yourself like uh a tiger, mobber, writer, cause everybody got different names. Like some people like writers, some people feel like uh graffiti artists, some tigers and some mobbers. Like, what do you consider yourself?
SPEAKER_00I wanna say like I'm a I'm a mobber. Like I like to mob it.
SPEAKER_02I'm really what what's the definition of a mobber to you?
SPEAKER_00Mobbers, like you're gonna go out and bomb, you're gonna, you know, you do throwies, streets, bombs, um, and just you know, go around town and just catching spots. That's pretty much it.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Where'd you get who you get your style from?
SPEAKER_00Because you got this this particular style you got, like honestly, um, my my ex-partner who I was with for a very long time, he would always tell me, Oh, he would try to drop his letters and be like, Here, do this. But I always told myself, nah, like that's your style. I want to create my own style. So as you could tell, like, I was toy for a very long time. It was just consistent of practice and just being consistent and just keep going, keep going, keep going, and just changing your letters around. Cause I for a while I didn't have a style down. I would just go something out of my head. So it would just be random things until lately I've just been doing like bubbly straights.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And that's something that just I like. It's just simple, quick, and boom, let's get in it out.
SPEAKER_02So like what's the what's the secret with coming up to like with your own straight letters? Because there's a lot of people out there that are like kind of duplicating styles that already exist. So how I mean do you have any like hint like like I don't know, suggestions or like how for people that are trying to come up with their own style straight letters?
SPEAKER_00That's a tough one. Um I would just say if you don't have anything on lock, just whatever comes to mind, just throw it. Just throw it in the paper, throw it on the wall, and then just keep going from there, and then once you look back at it, you you know what you need to fix or adjust or add. And I mean that's how I learn on my own. I take I'll take his like um tips, lightly, I know criticisms. Um I don't take it harshly. I take it as advice, as as growth. And I mean, it's just keep practicing and being consistent. You never know. You maybe you could add some things on your own and just keep going and developing.
SPEAKER_02So I like right now you you're not from no crews, right? No. So how's it how's it feel right now to be a winner?
SPEAKER_00It feels good.
SPEAKER_02Um Is a winner better? Is it better to like some people have different viewpoints and perspectives on it, but like what's the difference in being from a crew and then being a winner? Like what what are the benefits the pros and cons and the benefits?
SPEAKER_00And the benefits? Okay, so I've always been a winner. Well, for a while I was a runner. I mean a runner, a winner.
SPEAKER_02You can be a runner too.
SPEAKER_00Um it's doing your work at your own pace at your own time, whenever you want, whenever you can. Um, finding time and uh being part of a crew. Uh obviously you have people you could ride with and have each other's back and look out for each other. Um it was great when you know I was part of of a group. Um the ideas that would flow, like, oh let's do a roller, oh let's go do this, and just I I had so many ideas and and things we we we did together as a group. Um But it was great. I I liked it because it's more like a let's do this, you look out, we'll drop this, and we'll just switch, we'll all take turns, and that's something that I like when you're in a crew. Um just being there and just having a good time, you know, try to stay out of even though we're causing chaos, you're at you're at least trying to stay out of trip at the same time because everybody has each other's back. And I think that's what a crew is all about. But a winner is more like you're just on your own, you're doing your own thing, you kick in with whoever's, but you also gotta be careful who you're associating with. It's just something you learn as you you know you're around for a while.
SPEAKER_02No, yeah, yeah, no. I I feel you and that. I feel like in most cases, like crude like I feel like certain people are just naturally like crude material, and then there's some people that just like they outgrow crews, they and they're a little bit more uh antisocial, a little bit to themselves. So doing the solo path works a little bit better for them because they can like play by their own rules, they're not offending nobody. They're not governed by different politics and expectations and shit like that, you know? Exactly. So it it really depends on the person and they in there, you know, if they got some childhood trauma or or you know, whatever it is. Um I guess like where I mean where have you been? Like where are some places that you would like to do graffiti? Um and where are some places that like you ha like you have been around the world that have been great to do graffiti.
SPEAKER_00Oakland.
SPEAKER_02Oakland, right?
SPEAKER_00I had so much fun out there. Yeah, I loved it. We took the train from San Jose to Oakland and San Francisco, and the minute that you we took the train over there, so the minute that you get off the train stop, you go up the escalator, and oh, there's tags everywhere, nothing's buff, and we literally took like 30 minutes just walking and stopping for 30 minutes each spot, just catching tags, doing throwies. We we just were too excited because you're out here in LA. Yeah, it's it's you know it's graph everywhere, but not how San Francisco was there or Oakland, it was just tags everywhere, little landmarks, and we got excited, so it was like a candy store. So I'm pretty sure there's other places that would be like that. But I mean, I'm always out here in LA, so that was a cool experience, and it made me feel like man, I should travel somewhere else. This was just in California, but it just hyped me up like I want to go somewhere else because this is pretty cool.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, Oakland, Oakland's gonna curl your toes, but like if you go to Berlin, Berlin is like Oakland times 10.
SPEAKER_01Damn.
SPEAKER_02So it's even all the restaurants, it's it's crazy. Um Yeah, man, like what's a um damn like do you like so when you go mobbing, do you prefer now that you're you're a wonder, but you're not in the crew, do you prefer to go with your homework your homegirls or your homies, or do you prefer to just be by yourself when you're mobbing?
SPEAKER_00I honestly I like being with somebody.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_00I I've tried doing it on my own and I have, but I feel like I have things to lose. So I'd rather be on my toes with somebody.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And just trying to stay out of trouble. Because I'm trying to go home, you get me? I've I've already been locked up a couple times and it's not for me.
SPEAKER_02For painting?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Well once, once. Okay. Maybe twice.
SPEAKER_02Okay, maybe twice?
SPEAKER_00Once, one time. I forgot what the other one was. But yeah, those little cells are not for me. I I I get anxiety really bad, and I I I wouldn't want to do that again.
SPEAKER_02So, like, you know, we let's say we going out, going to go paint. What's the top three things you need to have on you if we're gonna go mobbing? That you have to have.
SPEAKER_00Um, besides my paint, like um. Well, like you prefer like something like safety nest or like just anything.
SPEAKER_02What was what's in your bag? What's in your backpack?
SPEAKER_00Wipey, streaks, paint, tips.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Um what a wipey phone.
SPEAKER_00To clean my hands or about the pee.
SPEAKER_02Okay, I get it. I can I can dig it. Yeah. Okay. And then do you have the I know some of my homegirls they be having like the nails situation where they be painting with the nails and they get paint on the nails. Do you ever have to deal with that?
SPEAKER_00I did, and I stopped doing my nails for that reason because they're so damn expensive. And sometimes, I mean you can master it, but sometimes it just gets clogged on your nails and it gets chunky. Especially if you're doing it like every other day or the whole weekend. You just there goes your almost $200 set, like right there.
SPEAKER_02Were you able to hit the graffiti towers?
SPEAKER_00I did actually.
SPEAKER_02How was that?
SPEAKER_00It was awesome. It was on a I believe it was Tuesday or Thursday, and it was raining. And I had seen somebody hit it, and that's the first time I saw it on somebody's story. I honestly forgot who it was, and I hit up one of my homegirls at the time. I told her, We need to hit this tonight because the weekends are on the corner, and I'm pretty sure people are gonna get there, people are gonna shut it down, and we're not gonna be able to experience it. So when we got there, uh we figured a way in. We went all the way to the 17th floor. At that time, uh, my friend wasn't doing so well, so we decided to just get the 17th floor. I wanted to keep exploring, but out of respect for her, I was just like, alright, we'll do it here. But unfortunately, somebody went over me. I kind of pressed an issue with about it because after that they closed it.
SPEAKER_02Was it a guy or a girl?
SPEAKER_00It was a guy.
SPEAKER_02Damn.
SPEAKER_00He made up for it though.
SPEAKER_02How you made up for it?
SPEAKER_00Uh he he took me to a show backstage and it was pretty cool.
SPEAKER_02Oh, damn.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, okay.
SPEAKER_02We're not gonna say his name, but shout out to him for making it right, you know.
SPEAKER_00Um We dropped the beef.
SPEAKER_02How you feel about like relationships and graffiti? Like, do you think it's do you think it's healthy? You think it's I mean you said oh fuck, like uh, I mean sometimes it's toxic, sometimes it's not. But would you what would you tell a girl or a guy, what does it matter, like, that were interested in dating somebody that did graffiti, would you say yay or nay?
SPEAKER_00If they don't do graffiti, like female whites, um, kudos to you if you pick up a can because of him and they gave you letters. But I honestly, it just sucks for a male that gave you the style, the idea, and then you run with it after you break up with the game. Uh I mean I mean not mine, not I just seen three, you know, most most cases.
SPEAKER_02I mean, like that's that's how it happens. Like the girl doesn't do graph, she hooks up with him and gets, you know, introduced to the game.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, which is pretty cool, you know? Because she's still doing it.
SPEAKER_02And gets and gets gifted some letters though. But do you have you ever seen it happen the other way around where a guy that doesn't do graffiti gets with a girl that does a graffiti and she gives him letters and he takes off with it? Have you seen that before?
SPEAKER_00No, but that would be fucking awesome. I'd be like, Why would a little girl?
SPEAKER_02Why would that be awesome the other way around though?
SPEAKER_00I don't know. I've never seen that enough like for a guy. But damn, you know, that's pretty sick though. But um, um, honestly, sometimes I've told myself that's never gonna happen.
SPEAKER_02So you're saying that would you ever date another guy that didn't defeat you?
SPEAKER_00Yes, but I'd be very careful. Just very careful. Why?
SPEAKER_02What are you being careful?
SPEAKER_00Because there's a lot of you know, it's a small community, small little world, and everybody knows everybody, and that's why I would rather like very, very take, like slowly take my time with this person, get to know them before moving forward with anything.
SPEAKER_02But how do you even really know that person's being real? Because like I was interviewing a writer, and they were just saying, like, in the game that we're in, like, it's it's you know, people don't reveal their true identity. And then and in that arena, you're gonna get a lot of people that don't really show who they truly are because that is the name of the game to stay unseen and not you know, not showing everybody who you truly are.
SPEAKER_00I'm in the middle of don't do it, and then I want to because you know I I've dated, I I I call them, you know, normal people, right? The normies.
SPEAKER_02Does it depend on how sexy the person is?
SPEAKER_00It just I don't know. It's just sometimes they're not they're not fun. It's like when you're out there and you're doing what you like to do and they don't, and then they it becomes an issue, it just becomes boring.
SPEAKER_02No, no, no.
SPEAKER_00I mean, to me it has happened and it's it sucks because they don't want me doing that. It's like this is what I like to do, man. Like either you take it or you don't.
SPEAKER_02And yeah, I I feel you. I think that I think for me it's a it's a nay because you're around a lot of guys, and you're a lot of a lot of women. And if when those, you know, when people paint with each other and that person has to be in securities, it you know, the issues come up, you know, and jealousy pops up, and and you can't really do what you really want to do because this person is in the community, they know people, and everybody knows each other, right? So it's easier, I feel like, when that person is you're dating somebody that's not in the community, because no one knows who they are, they're still there off the radar.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So whatever you do in the community of graffiti in that culture, no one can go back to your partner and be like, guess what? They this so-and-so hit up this person. So-and-so went painting with this person. So that's just me. That's just me. I don't know if I could. I don't know. If I was single, I don't know if I can date a graph girl. Because I like to paint with everybody and anybody. So let's say I went to go meet up with you to do an interview and I'm dating a graph girl, I don't know how she's gonna take it.
SPEAKER_00Oh, she's gonna punch you out. No, I know how I am, so no, you're right. It can it can't happen.
SPEAKER_02But uh, I mean, kudos to everybody that has a relationship and maintains it. My favorite one was uh, I think Ether and uh Utah and all that stuff. Like, yeah, I've seen them around the world. They did they did that, you know. Um, but kudos to them. I don't know if they're still together or not, but um, those that's that's my That's a little goal right there. That is a goal, relationship goals right there. Um traveling. Yeah, man. So like, you know, Russ still got this new spray paint out right now, and a lot of people have been like boy trying to boycott it, but certain people have been pushing it. So, how do you feel about the new Rusto spray paint?
SPEAKER_00I actually was given one. Yeah. Um, somebody hooked me. I'm not gonna say names. Somebody hooked me up at Athena's Garden. I went to support the girl, the Home Girls, Jism, Remove, Um, Real. And I came across him and he's he had a whole backpack full of them, and I'm like, I was just joking. I'm like, let me get one. He's like, for real? He's like, what's your least favorite color? And I'm like, purple. He hands me a purple one, and I was just like, for real? And he's like, yeah, and I'm like, what the fuck is this? And then read it. Um they're like, oh, this is a new Rustals. And he's like, You're the it's exclusive, so feel lucky. I'm like, oh hell yeah, thank you. I got blessed with a can. Um, I use it, it's it's alright, you know, I'm not really.
SPEAKER_02Is it more for like feels or for cuts?
SPEAKER_00Uh I wanna say for cuts. I I really didn't like the feeling.
SPEAKER_02Okay, okay, alright. Um, do you think that like you think that Russ still kind of fucked up by jumping on the bandwagon so late? Cause they were like, you know, I don't know if they supported graffiti back in the day, but I don't I don't know if they support it now, but they're trying to cash in on that.
SPEAKER_00Um I think they are trying to catch in because they have the the the new one was not the new no more, but the one that has the settings for different uh oh yeah the setting different settings.
SPEAKER_02Didn't Elon Musk design that shit or something like that?
SPEAKER_00No idea.
SPEAKER_02I don't know. That's what I heard. I'm not I'm not fucking with that one.
SPEAKER_00I take I take those shits off and I just put a mob. You could put a uh you could put an adapter actually. What? Yeah, I didn't know that either. What they go on the side or how do you you just break the cap off and it's like a regular, you know you could put a is it a male or a female? It's uh it's a male.
SPEAKER_02Oh okay. I didn't know that. I was just I didn't know either. I was just like, fuck that can. It works like a regular roadstone. Damn, okay. Um what you what are you into? Like uh you sound like a real a real writer, so like let me see what you into flats. You into semi-glosses or just glosses?
SPEAKER_00I like flats. You like flats? If they're semi-gloss, shoot it, you know?
SPEAKER_02So flat, you so you'll take a flat over a gloss? Yes. Everybody's leaving.
SPEAKER_00But yeah, I like flat.
SPEAKER_02So like, okay, alright. I mean, okay, I can dig it. I can dig it. Um so who's been the biggest influence on you right now in graffiti?
SPEAKER_00Is it your ex partner or is it No, I think I was more of a influence for him, if anything.
SPEAKER_02Man. He knows it.
SPEAKER_00No there shit. I reminded him. Um female-wise, I've been around right now lately with um remove and jism.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_02Um learning tips from from both of them, how to do this, remove the G in the game.
SPEAKER_00So dope. I I thought she was gonna be mean, but she's she's actually so dope.
SPEAKER_02She used to be mean. I remember I remember her when she was skinny. I mean she was mean and she was all Ben Davis out and shit.
SPEAKER_00My girl got a curve view, she'd be like, I'm going to sleep. I'm like, come on, this kid can't. She's like, nope. So I respect that.
SPEAKER_02She is like, she is super triple OG. She's more OG. Look at this dude staring at us in the car. He's looking at you. We in the car having the interview. This dude is just locked in on Miss Me. Like, damn, like looking at her like he's seen her before. He has.
SPEAKER_00He's helped me before. He's like, I recognize her. Um, but yeah, she's so dope, man. Um, there's times where I've been actually the first time we linked up to paint paint, I was so hungover, and that's the mistake I made. I should I that night I was staying home, but everybody's like, come out, come out. And I'm like, nah, I'ma I'll have something to do tomorrow morning, but couldn't find my demons that night. So I went out and we met up the next day, like at nine in the morning. Uh we painted, and I was just dying, and she she got her backpack, she took out trail mix, she's like, Here, eat these. And I know she she was just hyping me up the whole time, and they made me forget that I was even tired. Like, she's so dope.
SPEAKER_02She's a real one. I mean, she is but she is grown and changed so much.
SPEAKER_00She's a hype woman. I love it.
SPEAKER_02Oh man, remove. Shout out to Remove.
SPEAKER_00Hell yeah.
SPEAKER_02She's man, I gotta get her an interview one day. You have to, but uh um so any regrets with this graffiti life that you have? Do you have any?
SPEAKER_00No. No regrets? I no regrets. We we all come in, and uh when I came into to the whole graph scene, I wanted to meet everybody, which was not a great idea to do, but you get to know people for what they are. Like some people are stable, some people are just running among, don't take that serious, or you know, you just meet different characters.
SPEAKER_02Why isn't that a good idea?
SPEAKER_00Um, because there's some people that were not good. You're gonna come across people that have bad intentions, good intentions, or even a lifetime of friends, you know. You just meet all types of people and you just trip out, and then you have to click it in your head that not everybody in the game that does graffiti, because we're all crazy as fuck to do this shit. So I know we're not all there sometimes.
SPEAKER_02And it's fucked up though, because it's like when you first get into the game, you're excited, and you just want to meet every fucking body, and then you meet everybody, and you're just like, damn, damn, the world is fucked up. Yeah. And then you're just like you get to this point where you're just like, I don't want to meet everybody every more anymore. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And then you I went from being like, I want to know this person, oh, this poop this who gets up, she gets up, I want to meet them. No, that's it. That that ended real quick.
SPEAKER_02And I just Now just like I just paint with a few people paint by myself.
SPEAKER_00My circle my circle is small and I'm okay with it. We we write for each other and I'm I'm happy with myself.
SPEAKER_02It's fucked up though, because I I was at the bar, I had my UPN hat on, and some dude ran up to me like, hey, you right? And I was like, nah, I don't. And he's like, oh my bad, my bad, uh dispenser, you know. But I just don't, I don't want no new friends, you know, graffiti.
SPEAKER_00It was actually a birthday gift.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00No, yeah, me neither. I I mean I'm okay if it's like my friends bring people around, I'll say what's up, keep it mutual. Um, as far as meeting people, I I think I'm good. Unless I get a good vibe from you and you're you're cool, you're solid. You know, it's hard to figure people out sometimes, but I really don't like to talk a lot. I just like to observe. So once I see kind of what I want to see, not what I want to see, but I guess like a little, all right, you seem pretty cool, then I open up a little bit. And that's just how I've been because I've met some fucked up people, so um, yeah. I'm more like caution now, like, uh, you know.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I mean like how is it I mean how thirsty are dudes in the game? Uh because I don't I don't date guys and guys don't get at me. So how thirsty are they out here?
SPEAKER_00Um there'll be some that that try very very consistent, but yeah, it's no like I said it's a small community and I just you gotta think about that shit about that.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Okay, yeah. Um how you feel about black books? Like, do you use them? Are they important?
SPEAKER_00I honestly have so many black books. Um unfortunately I didn't get them back, so they would get lost. So I just decided to just carry a small one and just have people do throw eats on one and the other ones a little straight. And I make sure I get that back. But it's not very important, but if I'm around people that I've been around for a cool minute, I want them in my little book. Like memories.
SPEAKER_02Back in the day everybody had black books.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Now, like nowadays you don't really see them like that, but nah, I don't really see them. And people like they still have 'em, but like, how important are black books to you?
SPEAKER_00Like, and your They were very, very important, but like I said, I I wouldn't get them back or they would get lost. So I never saw those books back uh ever again, and I wish I had those books because I've met so many people that don't even write no more or they're no longer with us. Yeah. So that was a memory that I had left of them. So it sucks that I can't have those no more. And well, it's I kind of gave up after that. After I lost an important book, and I'm like, you know what? I'm I'm done. Never try to get one. Um to the homie gave me one recently, and um one of the homegirls gave me a little one too for Christmas, and I've just been carrying those, and I've just had them sitting for a while, and recently I just started carrying them with me at shows. And if I run into someone, I know I'll be like, hey, if we gotta hit my book, you know? Just to start that tradition again of saving it.
SPEAKER_02Who's somebody that you will want in your book that that you who are some people that you think are dope that you'd be like, damn, I finally got this nigga in my book? Like, who would those people be?
SPEAKER_00I wanna say um Meek.
SPEAKER_02Meek.
SPEAKER_00Meek from New York.
SPEAKER_02Meek.
SPEAKER_00Meek and Meek. The one I was from TKO? No, I think she was she was she from TKO?
SPEAKER_02There wasn't Meek from TKO years ago back in the early 2000s.
SPEAKER_00No, this was way before that.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, Meek. I think she's from New York. She would get like high spots.
SPEAKER_02Okay, no, it's not a good idea.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, she was she was a little inspiration. Um, Faffy. Um Faffy little character, Miss Van. Okay, Claw.
SPEAKER_02Claw? Yeah, Claw's cool as fuck.
SPEAKER_00Um who else? The locals. I would say like Aura. Hello. Um, I'll be dope to have him in my books. I grew up seeing them up, so I'm like, that's dope. They kind of inspire me to win it. Aura, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Which one?
SPEAKER_00Aura, the one from right here, from LA. A H O R A Aura.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, she's she's I seen her since I was a kid up, so she's a little inspiration. Okay. Yeah, that'll be dope.
SPEAKER_02Alright, alright. Um so like I asked everybody's question. If you have a spray can, scribe or streak, which one would you pick and why if you have the choice of pick between those three? Oh shit, it's hard. It's hard.
SPEAKER_00Um I can't get the the scribe. You said scribe, right?
SPEAKER_02Yes, I can't scream. R streak.
SPEAKER_00I I I don't have a lot of pressure on this hand no more. I got run over. So yeah, Jism was actually there. What kind of beef you have? No, I don't even know. They fucking left me there for dead and shit. Yeah, so my hand has not been the same again, so I can't I can't use a like that's all much pressure I can't do no more. Like I can't do scribe, so I'll tell Jism, hey, I try to do it in the restroom, and I left it at the M, and she would just be laughing. She's like, I'll finish it off no more.
SPEAKER_02You gotta use that left hand, you gotta start using that left hand, man.
SPEAKER_00So um, I would say a streak.
SPEAKER_02Why the streak?
SPEAKER_00Because you could get anywhere in the street, like a small little spot, like for example, like that pool right there, just quick little little streak type.
SPEAKER_02Streaks over drippers.
SPEAKER_00Oh man, I love drippers.
SPEAKER_02You love drippers? I love drippers.
SPEAKER_00So it has to be a dripper. You finna tell me of all those, it's gonna be a dripper.
SPEAKER_02Dripper over streaks?
SPEAKER_00Yep.
SPEAKER_02Okay. You got a color that you like?
SPEAKER_00I like uh like uh what is it? Tail? Twill blue?
SPEAKER_02Tail blue, tail blue. Is it? I don't know.
SPEAKER_00It's like aqua blue.
SPEAKER_02I just like if it if it drips, I love it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you know, so and what I like is that you can either catch like a little simple tag, or if you want it to bleed, then or drip, like I don't know, there's levels to it. I I think there's levels to it. It's either no drip, drip, or like bloody.
SPEAKER_02Like, my homie, my homie makes some ink, he makes some ghost ink. So basically, you go your right, and it'll just come out clear. Yeah, but when the sun hits it, it'll it'll show, it'll stain. Yeah, he makes that shit.
SPEAKER_00Actually, my first dripper ever was um the toy killer.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god, the little sponge was just any surface, it would just it wouldn't even damage. Yeah, and it will silver like chrome. Uh I don't know if they make them no more, because the last one I ever got one was maybe years ago at um RD's. They had them there and I have never seen one ever since. But I still have mine, it's already dead, but I have it as a decoration in my room because it's like, where are they? I want another one.
SPEAKER_02So look, like Jism and Sirac be going crazy over these Boston tips. Do you feel the same about the Boston tips? Do you like Boston tips? Is that your favorite tip?
SPEAKER_00I like the New York New York, New York fat. Yes.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_00I I don't know why, it's just it's my favorite. I could fill in, outline, tie with it. But it was before that one, it was the hardcore fat.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00And after that, I noticed it was eating my paint so it would just kill my can quick, and I'm like, man, and then that's when one of the homies was like, Boo, you just use a New York. And I'm like, I don't like those, and I gave it a try, and it was so smooth, so satisfying, especially because it was a tarp, so it was just like just gliding. I was like, this is awesome. So all I get is just New York's New York fads.
SPEAKER_02So I gotta cut this interview short because I got somebody blown on my phone right now. But uh they might be in trouble, but we see. Uh before I wrap this interview up, is there any shout-outs you want to give out to anybody? Anything that any okay, well, first, is there anything, any message that you want to give out to the women and the men out there that are just getting into graffiti? Is there any message you want to give to them on the in the beginning of their journey?
SPEAKER_00Just be consistent, keep practicing. If you're really gonna be in this game, just just fucking be consistent. Like just keep trying. Don't give up. You're you're gonna be great one day, trust. Like, you just gotta be consistent and just keep trying, keep going. And always be your number one fan yourself, you know. That's I'm always my number one fan. Okay. I gotta hype myself up sometimes.
SPEAKER_02And how do you want to be remembered?
SPEAKER_00Honestly, I just want to be remembered as a very humble person, very loving, very humble, and fun. Fun, like um, someone you could go to and just you know, be able to talk to. And I don't like judging my friends, they all know that. I might talk shit sometimes because they don't like they don't learn, yeah. But I'm always gonna give them advice and like I tell them that's up to you how you take it. But you know, this is just my point of view, you know, because I care for you. I'm just very caring. Like I care for my people.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00You know, I always try to look out or they look out for me. And I've honestly I have a good set of friends right now, and I hope you know they remember me. I've just always been there for me.
SPEAKER_02Oh yeah, they're gonna remember you. Um any shout outs you want to give out to before we cut this interview?
SPEAKER_00Uh yes, I want to give a shout-out to Jism, you know. We've been through so much. Um, you know, I've I recently told her like I wanna I wanna ride with her forever, and you know, she's my inspiration, and I'm glad I met her.
SPEAKER_02So now what is Jism to you?
SPEAKER_00Jism, she's a very good, like, graph godmother to me.
SPEAKER_02Like she's a graph godmother.
SPEAKER_00Yes, she's an inspiration, she's very awesome, she's very awesome. I love her.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, she's old though. She's old.
SPEAKER_00But she's she's fun as hell. Like, I I always have a good time with her.
SPEAKER_02She is Jism's wild. She always been wild, but I felt like the the older she gets, the fucking more wilder she gets.
SPEAKER_00Really?
SPEAKER_02Yeah. She wasn't like that when she was 16. She's a shy girl coming her face all the time.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, man. She's living.
SPEAKER_02Now she now she's like letting it out, you know. So anybody else?
SPEAKER_00Um, the homegirl cats, Mita, and all the homies. Y'all know who they are.
SPEAKER_02You said cats?
SPEAKER_00Cats.
SPEAKER_02Cats.
SPEAKER_00Cats from it, yeah, cats. With S. Okay.
SPEAKER_02Well, um, I appreciate you uh linking up with me to do this interview. Um are you still nervous?
SPEAKER_00No, actually, this was great. I could keep talking for her. You gotta go.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I gotta go. I mean, like, if y'all wanna anybody out there that wanna interview, you know, Miss Me, uh, she's I think she's ready now. We broke her in. Um, yeah, so y'all, y'all see her in the streets, salute her, respect her, honor her. Uh she's a big um, she's a big, you know, I guess, contributor to the culture. And um, it looked like it sounds like she's gonna be doing this to she's an old lady.
SPEAKER_00I might be pausing, but I ain't gonna stop.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_00I always come back hard.
SPEAKER_02So the will follow off.
SPEAKER_00Exactly.
SPEAKER_02Alright. Oh, thank you.
SPEAKER_00Thank you.
