Why so many of us feel lost under labels and expectations and how a relationship with Jesus gives us a new, secure identity. We ground that shift in Scripture, walk through three core truths, and end with reflection questions and a guided prayer to help the truth sink in.

• identity often built on past mistakes, titles, careers, and other people’s opinions
• new creation in Christ as a decisive change in how we see ourselves
• mind renewal through Scripture as the turning point in self-perception
• three pillars of identity: loved, forgiven, and chosen and called
• confidence and freedom that come from belonging to God rather than chasing validation in the world
• reflection exercise to name old labels and release what does not match God’s truth
• prayer and meditation to embrace being redeemed, loved, and purpose-filled

Who You Are?

Speaker

Have you ever felt lost, unsure of who you really are beneath the labels and expectations? What if I told you that your true identity isn't defined by your past, your mistakes, or what others say, but by who God says you are. Today, we're uncovering the life-changing truth of your identity in Christ.

Welcome And The Heart Of The Show

Speaker

Welcome to "Awareness Unlocked" I'm Stacy -Ann Carter. This, is a space dedicated to awakening souls through spiritual awareness, inspiring transformation, and guiding us to discover our true identity in Christ. Here, we explore real stories, biblical truths, and spiritual reflections that remind us of one powerful truth. God is love. My prayer is that every episode draws you closer to God, fills you with hope, and awakens you to the life He created you to live.

Why Identity Feels So Hard

Speaker

Today's episode is called "Your True Identity In Christ". One of the biggest struggles many people face is identity. We often define ourselves by our past, mistakes, titles, careers, or even the opinions of others. But the truth is, none of those things truly define who you are. When we enter into a relationship with Jesus, something powerful happens. We receive a new identity. Understanding who you are in Christ changes everything - how you see yourself, how you navigate life, and how you face challenges.

A Personal Shift Through Scripture

Speaker

Before my awakening with God, I didn't truly understand my identity. Like many, I let the world shape how I saw myself. My experiences, my mistakes, and my surroundings influenced my self-perception. But as God began renewing my mind through scripture, I realized something profound. My identity was never meant to come from the world. It comes from God. The more I grew in my relationship with Him, the more I began to see myself as He sees me. Not defined by my past, not limited by my mistakes, but as someone deeply loved, redeemed, and chosen. Understanding your true identity in Christ is foundational to living a life of purpose, confidence, and freedom. Now that I've shared a bit about my journey and how God has been revealing my true identity, let's dive deeper into what it means to truly understand who we are in Christ.

Identity Rooted In God’s Word

Speaker

Your identity is rooted in the unchanging truth of God's Word. Let's explore some powerful biblical truths that reveal your true identity and how embracing them can transform your life. When we accept the gospel and place our faith in Jesus, we are not just forgiven, we are transformed. 2nd:: Corinthians 5 verse 17 says, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has gone, the new is here". This means your past no longer defines you. Your identity is now rooted in Christ.

Three Pillars: Loved, Forgiven, & Chosen

Speaker

Let's explore the three pillars of your identity in Christ. I'll begin with a foundational truth. Step one: Introduce the first truth. "You Are Loved". Romans 8 verses 38 to 39 states, "For I am convinced that neither death nor life will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord". This reminds us that nothing can separate us from the love of God. Building on that - it's important to know that "you are forgiven". Through Jesus, your sins are washed away and you are made clean. Step two: Present the second truth. "You Are a Child of God" John 1 verse 12 says, "Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. This means when we believe in his name, he gives us the right to become children of God. And there's more. Step three: Present the third truth. "You are chosen and called". 1 Peter 2 verse 9 declares, "but you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession". Think about that! God calls you chosen.

Living From Your New Identity

Speaker

When you truly understand and embrace your identity in Christ, it changes how you live and see yourself. You begin to walk in confidence with the assurance that you belong to God. You stop seeking validation from the world because you know your worth is secured in Him. This identity empowers you to overcome fear, shame, and doubt. It invites you to live boldly, love deeply, and serve faithfully. But remember, this transformation is a journey, not a one-time event. Let the Holy Spirit gently guide and shape you into the person God created you to be. Your identity is no longer rooted in brokenness, it is rooted in God's love and purpose for your life.

Reflection Prompts And Community Invite

Speaker

Now take a moment to reflect on these questions. Who have I believe I am? And how does that compare to who God says I am? What stories about myself do I need to let go of to embrace my true identity in Christ? Write down the beliefs or labels you've held about yourself, both positive and negative. Reflect on which of these align with God's truth and which need to be released. How can embracing your true identity in Christ change the way you live and see yourself? I'd love to hear what's on your heart, what reflections or questions came up for you during this episode? Guided Prayer And Meditation

Speaker

Let's quiet our hearts and minds as we enter into a moment of meditation and prayer together. Father God, thank you for creating us in your image and calling us your children. Help us to see ourselves as you see us, loved, chosen, and redeemed. Your Word says in 2 Corinthians 5 verse 17, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come, the old has gone". Remind us that our past does not define us, but your grace renews us daily. As Psalm 139 verse 14 declares, "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made". Your works are wonderful. I know that full well. Open our hearts to embrace our true identity in you. Guide us to walk confidently in the purpose you have for our lives. In Jesus' name, Amen.
