We talk about the difference between walking in the same direction and truly walking with God, and why being busy for Him can still leave us out of step. We share a real testimony of how alignment brings peace, opens doors without force, and connects us to the right people and assignments.

• alignment as agreement in motion through Amos 3:3
• a testimony of obedience leading to a new church, a “saved” parking spot, and unexpected community
• why alignment is not God adjusting to our plans but us matching His pace
• abiding in Christ as the source of fruit and direction from John 15
• renewing the mind to discern God’s will using Romans 12:2
• clear signs of alignment such as open doors, peace, and trusted assignments
• clear signs of misalignment such as striving, blocked doors, and draining relationships
• God’s loving redirection through Isaiah 30:21 and the “personal GPS” picture
• surrendering time and plans so God can order our steps

**Start by checking your agreement: Pick one area of your life this week and honestly ask the Holy Spirit, are we in step here? Or have I been walking ahead of you? Then adjust. Even one small act of obedience can bring an entire area back into alignment. Then pass this on.

**Think of one person who's been striving, forcing doors, or feeling that restlessness we talked about, and send them this episode.

When You’re Busy But Behind

Speaker

Two people can be walking in the same direction and still not be walking together. You can be busy for God and still be out of step with God. You can be doing good things, religious things, and even generous things, and still feel like you're a half-second behind where he actually is. Like you keep arriving at the right place at the wrong time. Like you're pushing on doors that look right but never seem to open. I know that feeling. I lived in it. That low hum of almost, almost in position, almost in purpose, almost in peace, but never quite there. And then something shifted. Not because I worked harder, not because I figured out a formula, but because my life finally came into agreement with his. Amos 3 verse 3 asked a question that reframed everything for me. Can two walk together unless they are agreed? Alignment isn't God moving closer to your plans. It's you coming into agreement with his. And the moment that agreement happens, the doors you've been forcing start opening on their own. The people you were meant to meet start appearing. The assignments you were created for start finding you. And the peace you can't manufacture starts to settle over your everyday life. In this episode, I'm going to show you what that agreement looked like for me. Down to a parking spot, a church I'd never heard of, and a whole family I didn't know I was missing. Also, how can you recognize when your own steps are starting to match with his? Let's get into it.

Season Two Builds Toward Alignment

Speaker

Welcome to Awareness Unlocked. I'm Stacy -Ann Carter. This is a space dedicated to awakening souls through spiritual awareness, inspiring transformation, and guiding us to discover our true identity in Christ. Here we explore real stories, biblical truths, and spiritual reflections that remind us of one powerful truth. God is love. My prayer is that every episode draws you closer to God, fills you with hope, and awakens you to the life He created you to live. So glad you tuned in today. Whether you've been here since the very first episode of season one, or this is the first time you're hearing my voice, I want you to settle in because what we're talking about today has the power to reorder your entire life. This is Awareness Unlocked, and all of season two has been one continuous journey. How to build a genuine, day-to-day relationship with God, step by step, layer by layer. We started with acknowledgement, recognizing him in everything, then worship and praise, making his presence our atmosphere, followed by full surrender, handing him the controls. In last episode, we discussed how reading God's word is literally you spending time with Jesus, who has the answer to every dimension of your life. Learning to recognize his voice on the page. And every one of those steps has been quietly building toward this one. Today is episode five. "Being In Alignment With God" Here's why this matters so much. Alignment is what happens when all those previous steps stop being one separate practices and start becoming one life. It's the difference between knowing about God's will and actually living inside of it. When you're aligned, you stop striving and start flowing. You stop guessing and start hearing. You stop chasing and start being led. I want to share with you the season where God brought me into that kind of agreement with him and how he confirmed it in ways I could never have arranged on my own. Let's walk into it together.

First Assignments Confirm Agreement

Speaker

The way I knew I had come into alignment with God was the day he handed me my very first assignment. Because an assignment meant something profound. It meant he trusted me. It meant I had become someone he could partner with for his kingdom. That I was finally in a place where he could begin working through me, not just on me. And the moment I took that first step of obedience and began that first assignment, he gave me another. And then another before I had even finished the first one. And at the time it felt like a lot, but later he showed me something beautiful. Every single assignment was connected. Each one was woven into the next. None of them were random. That whole season, when I had started acknowledging him, worshiping him through the highs and the lows, surrendering to his will, going deeper in the word with him, all of it had been unknowingly positioned in me quietly, faithfully, lining me up for alignment. And that alignment didn't only show up in assignments, it showed up in so many forms. You see, before I received that first assignment, he had asked me to move across town. After I took that obedient step to move, that's when the first assignment was given. But I came to know that all along he had plans for me that I couldn't see. So after I moved, I was led by the Holy Spirit to a new community, a church. Here's how it happened.

Obedience Leads To A New Church

Speaker

One Saturday night, I felt prompted to look up churches near my zip code. When I put my zip code in, more than a dozen churches came up. But my spirit settled on one specific church without even looking through them all. I didn't know a single person there. I'd never even heard of the church. But I obeyed. So the very next morning, I got up, I got dressed, and I drove there. And here's the part that still makes me smile. He didn't just lead me there. He saved me a parking spot, a perfect parking spot. This was a big church, the kind with people out directing traffic, different lots for different groups, and so forth. I pulled into the first parking lot I saw because I saw a spot open. There was no attendee there to direct me, and I was unaware of the parking lot I drove into. So I parked and got out, and I asked a young man I saw if it was okay that I parked there. He replied, Yes, you're lucky, that's a perfect spot. It turns out that when he pointed me towards the entrance, I had only parked a few feet away from it. It was the only spot left in that entire parking lot. But the Holy Spirit wasn't finished. The moment I walked in, a young woman and her husband, both serving that day, greeted me and walked me to my seat. And here's what's remarkable. I didn't even exchange a single word with anyone else the entire time I was there, even though there were people sitting on both sides of me. Yet after the service, that same woman found me again. And she began connecting me into different groups within the church. Groups I didn't even know that I needed.

Groups And People God Connects

Speaker

Within three days, I was plugged in. And honestly, I thought I didn't need them all. But the moment I walked into each group individually, the Holy Spirit revealed why he had led me there. Every group carried a different purpose for me. Each group was linked to specific people he wanted me to meet. And with each connection, he would show me exactly who that person was to me. Because the Holy Spirit doesn't let me hold on to connections that aren't aligned with me. And if I start to feel unsure about the direction I'm heading in, he reminds me of Isaiah 30, verse 21. It says, "Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you saying, This is the way, walk in it". What the Lord has shown me is this. Even if I started heading in a direction that wasn't meant for me, he will always redirect me. He told me he is my personal GPS in the spirit. I am still in those groups, almost a year later. I love them. I have built meaningful connections. I've grown in ways I can't even fully put into words. And one of those connections led me to a community outside the church, too. A group I lovingly call my spirit-led family. We all attend different churches, but there's one thing we have in common. We are all fully surrendered to God and his will. And when we come together to worship and praise the Lord, the Holy Spirit moves among us in ways that look like miracles. It's exactly what I had been praying for. I came into spiritual alignment with all these connections my soul had been ready for. And since then, I've grown deeper with the Lord to the place where He now helps me carry every assignment he's given me. I don't even make my own schedule anymore. The Holy Spirit builds my schedule with me. And I can say it plainly, being in alignment with God is one of the most precious gifts I've ever received. Now let me be real with you. Does my life fully look exactly the way I want outwardly? Not yet. But the Lord has been fulfilling the desires of my heart in his own divine timing, one by one. And the peace, the resilience, and the new family, the brothers and sisters I've gained surpassed anything I could have asked for. Proverbs 3, verses 5 and 6 says, Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths. I am exactly where I need to be, and I am believing the same for you.

Alignment Defined By Amos 3:3

Speaker

Now let's open the teaching segment all from the Bible, because I want you to leave today not just moved, but equipped. I want you to understand what alignment actually is, how to tell when you have it, and how to find your way back to it when you've drifted. So first, let's go back to that verse from the hook. Amos 3 verse 3 says, Can two walk together unless they are agreed? Alignment is agreement in motion. It's not enough to believe the same things God believes. Agreement means your steps start to match his, your decision, your pace, your direction, your yes, and your no. When you're aligned, you're not negotiating with God about the direction anymore. You're simply walking in it with him. And here's the thing most people miss. God isn't going to adjust his pace to match your disobedience. He doesn't meet you in misalignment and call it fellowship. He sets the direction, we come into agreement with it. That's the order. Always. If you're honest, are you asking God to bless the path you've already chosen? Or are you willing to walk the one he's actually pointing toward? Let that question do its work.

Abiding Produces Alignment Fruit

Speaker

Now here's why everything we've covered so far this season had to come before today. Alignment is the fruit of abiding. Jesus said in John 15, verses 4 and 5, Abide in me and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me, you can do nothing. A branch doesn't strain to align with the vine. It simply stays connected. And alignment becomes natural, the life of the vine flows into it, and fruit just happens. That's what acknowledgement, worship, surrender, and the word have all been doing in you, keeping you connected to the vine. And alignment is the fruit that grows when you stay attached. You don't manufacture it, you abide your way into it. So if your life feels fruitless right now, the question usually isn't, how do I work harder? It should be, where have I become disconnected?

Renewing Your Mind For Discernment

Speaker

Now here's where alignment gets practical because it starts in your mind. His thoughts are higher, renewing your mind. Romans 12 verse 2 says, Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Notice the connection. A renewed mind is how you discern God's will. You cannot consistently walk in alignment with a mind still running on the world's operating system. As long as you're thinking the way you've always thought, you'll keep making the choices you've always made and keep landing in misalignment. The Word renews the mind. The renewed mind perceives his will, and perceiving his will is what makes alignment possible. So what is one belief or thought pattern you carry that may be quietly keeping you out of step with God?

Signs You’re Aligned With God

Speaker

Let me give you something tangible, because alignment isn't just a feeling, it has signs. So how do you recognize when you're aligned? When you're aligned with God, doors open without force. You stop having to manipulate outcomes. Things you couldn't make happen on your own begin to happen for you. The right people appear. Like the woman who walked me to my seat, the connections you actually need start showing up. And the ones that don't belong begin to fall away. You're entrusted with assignments. God starts handing you kingdom work because alignment produces trust. He begins partnering with you. Peace becomes your baseline. Not because everything is fixed, but because you know you're where he wants you. And here's the flip side: misalignment has signs too. It may look like constant striving, doors that won't open no matter how hard you push, relationships that drain instead of sharpen, a restlessness that no achievement quiets. Those aren't just bad luck. Often they're invitations, God lovingly signaling that something needs to come back into agreement with him. Looking at your life honestly, which of these signs is describing your current season?

Signs You’re Out Of Step

Speaker

Now hear me clearly, because this is the part that takes the pressure off. When you drift, he redirects. Alignment does not mean you'll never take a wrong turn. Isaiah 30 verse 21, the very verse from my testimony, promises, whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you saying, This is the way, walk in it. Did you catch where the voice comes from? Behind you. That's the voice of a God who is following you in love, ready to redirect you the moment you start to wander. He is, as the Lord told me, your personal GPS in the spirit. And what does a GPS do when you miss a turn? It doesn't shame you, it doesn't abandon you on the side of the road, it simply recalculates and gets you back on course. So if you've drifted, stop condemning yourself. Just listen for the voice behind you. He's already speaking. He's already recalculating. Your job is simply to turn when he says turn.

Surrendering Your Calendar And Plans

Speaker

Here's the final piece, and it's the one that costs us the most. Alignment means surrendering the schedule. In my testimony, I said I no longer make my own schedule. The Holy Spirit builds it with me. That sounds beautiful, but I want you to feel the weight of it. Alignment will eventually touch your calendar, your time, your daily rhythm, your I had other plans. Proverbs 16, verse 9 says it perfectly. "The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps." You're allowed to plan. But alignment means holding those plans loosely enough that when He rearranges them, you don't resist —

Speaker

You simply adjust. The aligned life is an interruptible life. It says, Lord, my time is yours. Order my steps, even the ones I didn't see coming. So is there an area, your time, your plans, your daily routine, where God has been asking you to take the lead and you've been holding on to? That right there is your next step into alignment.

Prayer Of Agreement And Reset

Speaker

Can we still ourselves for a moment? If you're somewhere you can gently unclench your hands and turn your palms upward, a small posture of agreement. And let's bring our hearts before the Father together. Lord Amos 3 reminds us that two cannot walk together unless they agree. So today we choose agreement. We lay down our direction, our timelines, our insistence on understanding everything before we obey. We want to walk in step with you. You said in John 15 that apart from you, we can do nothing but abiding in you, we bear much fruit. So keep us connected, Father. Let alignment grow in us naturally as we stay attached to the vine. Romans 12 tells us to be transformed by the renewing of our mind. So renew our thinking, Holy Spirit. Tear out every pattern that pulls us out of step with you, and write your ways into us instead. And Lord, when we wander, thank you for the voice behind us in Isaiah 30. The one who says, This is the way, walk in it. Be our GPS in the spirit, recalculate every wrong turn. Redirect us in love. We trust you to establish our steps, even the ones we didn't plan. Order our days. Position us for every assignment you've prepared. Connect us to the people our souls are ready for. And gently release the ones who aren't meant for this season. Bring us and keep us in alignment with you. We give you our agreement and our trust in the holy precious name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Simple Next Steps To Practice

Speaker

Now before you head back into your day, let me leave you with a few simple next steps. Start by checking your agreement. Pick one area of your life this week and honestly ask the Holy Spirit, are we in step here? Or have I been walking ahead of you? Then adjust. Even one small act of obedience can bring an entire area back into alignment. Then pass this on. Think of one person who's been striving, forcing doors, or feeling that restlessness we talked about, and send them this episode. It might be the very thing that helps them find their footing again. Share, Follow, And Where To Connect

Speaker

Now here's where we're headed next. Episode six is called Listen and Obey. Because alignment open your ears, but what you do with what you hear is everything. It's one thing to recognize his voice, it's another to move on it. Next time, we're going to talk about how to truly hear the Holy Spirit in your daily life, how to tell his voice apart from all others competing for your attention, and why your obedience, even in the small, quiet, is the very thing that unlocks the next chapter he has for you. It's going to stir something in you. I'll be waiting for you there.
