The First Thought After Waking
SPEAKER_00What's the very first thought that crosses your mind before your feet even touch the floor in the morning? For most of us, it's work, the worry we fell asleep with, the dread of the day ahead, the phone we reach for before we even fully opened our eyes. We wake up already behind, already anxious, already running, and we wonder why our days feel like they're running us. But what if the entire trajectory of your day, your peace, your focus, your strength, your joy was being decided in those first few seconds after you wake? The truth is, your mind was still stuck from all the things that you experienced in the last few moments of your day before you fall asleep. Here's something I've discovered that completely reordered my entire life. God is not looking for an hour of your Sunday. He's after your mornings, your evenings, your schedule, your commute, your phone calls, and your decisions. The ordinary, unglamorous middle of your everyday life. Because a real relationship was never meant to live in a building once a week. It was meant to be lived, woven into every hour. I used to believe a good Christian was someone who showed up to church and prayed before meals. Now, I genuinely cannot get out of bed without thanking him first. And I can't fall asleep without going over my whole day with him, not out of religion, out of love. So today, I'm going to walk you through what a daily pursuit of God actually looks like, from the gratitude that greets the morning to the stillness that closes the night, and how this rhythm can turn your fate from something you practice into a relationship you live. Come join me.
Why God Wants Your Everyday
SPEAKER_00Welcome to Awareness Unlocked. I'm Stacy and Carter. This is a space dedicated to awakening souls through spiritual awareness, inspiring transformation, and guiding us to discover our true identity in Christ. Here we explore real stories, biblical truths, and spiritual reflections that remind us of one powerful truth. God is love. My prayer is that every episode draws you closer to God, fills you with hope, and awakens you to the life He created you to live. I'm so happy you carved out this time today. If you've been with me through this season, you've watched this relationship with God unfold layer by layer. Everything we've explored on awareness unlocked so far this season has been leading us somewhere. We have acknowledged Him, we worshiped Him, we surrendered to Him, we got rooted in His Word. We discussed alignment with Him, we dived into listening and obeying. And last time, we pressed in through fasting and prayer. But here's the truth. All of those are beautiful, yet none of them were meant to be occasional. They were meant to become daily. This is episode eight, daily pursuit of the Lord. Because intimacy isn't built in grand, occasional gestures. It's built in the ordinary, repeated, fateful moments. The morning gratitude, the whispered prayer in traffic, the question, Lord, what should I do next? The moment we become still in his presence before we sleep. That's where relationships are forged. And I've learned that when you give God your daily, he gives you a closeness you never imagined possible. I'm going to open up my actual daily rhythm for you. Exactly how I begin my mornings, how I carry him through my hours, and how I close each night with him. My prayer is that it gives you a simple way of creating an intentional daily pursuit of the Lord. Let's walk through this together because we are a family.
Testimony Of A Daily Relationship
SPEAKER_00Now, here's my testimony. When I was living in the world and not off the world, if someone had told me that this is what my life would be like now, I would have not been able to visualize that in that moment of time. And yet, by the grace of God, here I am, living, breathing, craving, pursuing his daily presence in a way I never thought possible. That is gratitude in itself. If you've been following this journey with me, you haven't just witnessed some of what I've walked through. You've also heard how God brought me out of all that I had shared, and how my relationship with God gradually expanded since, growing from that very first hunger I had when I started into something I now get to live every single day. So I'm genuinely happy to share with you today what my daily actions in pursuit of the Lord brought and how it changed my relationship with him. Because this, this rhythm, is what keeps me in tune with the Lord and keeps drawing me deeper into relationship with him.
Morning Rhythm Of Gratitude And Prayer
SPEAKER_00It started with training my mind to focus on the things of God the moment I wake, and again, right before I go to sleep. So every single morning, I begin with gratitude first, because Psalm 95, verse 2 says, Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving and make a joyful noise unto him with Psalms. So before I even let my feet touch the floor, I lie there and I list out the many things I'm grateful for that are in my life now, and all the things that I am trusting him to bring to fruitition. My list doesn't have to have a specific amount. But I always start in the same place: gratitude for his mercy and his grace. Because it is by his mercy and grace alone that I even wake up each morning. Then I move into a few specific daily prayers. Prayers I've been praying since the very start of my walk with the Lord, and these come straight from the Bible. I begin with the Lord's Prayer in Matthew 6, which leads me to release any unforgiveness I may knowingly or unknowingly have in my heart. Then Psalm 23, which is my constant reminder that in Christ I lack nothing, because he's my shepherd and I am his sheep. Next, I pray for protection with Psalms 91 over myself and all my loved ones. And last but not least, I speak Psalm 19, verse 14, over my heart and my mind. It says, Let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength and my redeemer. This keeps my heart and mind in steps with the Father. Family, these have been so powerful in my life and in my immediate family's life also, because I pray them right over my children as well. From there, I move into decrees and declarations from the word itself, and I speak them out loud, because Proverbs 18, verse 21 says, Death and life are in the power of the tongue. So I use those declarations to speak life into my day, over my own life and over my children and my family. Next come what I like to call my quiet time. In other words, meditation. This is not the meditation the world talks about. For me, it's simply sitting in quiet, alone, and silencing my mind from all the worldly noise, listening for the soft, still voice. And I'll be honest, this can be challenging because when I sit down in the quiet, thoughts of everything I had on my mind prior starts to surface. During this occurrence, what I've learned to do is just acknowledge them and let them pass without welcoming frustration. Because I realize something that frustration was opposition. Opposition comes as a prevention to hinder what I set out to do. The enemy knows that when I sit and silence everything in my mind, that I'll hear the Father's voice. Keep that in mind when you sit down in the silence, and if you miss a day or two, don't carry guilt. Just start again. Be persistent. After that, I move into my daily schedule. But that doesn't mean I leave the Holy Spirit behind. No, in fact, this is where it gets exciting. Because instead of just talking at him, I am now talking with him. I include him in everything. Proverbs 3 verse 6 says, to seek his will in all you do. So in all that I do, I invite him into my daily task, my daily decisions, my daily conversations, everything concerning me. It's me and him against the world. When I am working on the will of the Father, my assignments that he entrusted to me throughout, I am asking him, what should I do next? When I am driving, I'm either talking with him, singing to him, or listening to his word, using audio Bible, as he brings me revelations. When I'm about to make a call, or even if I receive a call, I quickly invite him into it beforehand because I don't want to speak anything prematurely. If I have any decision to make, big or small, I ask him what I should do, because he alone knows what's best for me. If I get invited to attend an event or gathering, I ask him, did he send them? Because I'm not going if he doesn't approve. Because he sees and knows all things that I don't. He's God. Mile is saying for all this is teamwork makes the dream work, but it needs to be with the right padre. But it doesn't stop when my day comes to an end. Isaiah 26, verse 3 says, You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast because they trust in you. So when my heart is set on God, I experience perfect peace, even in the night. So after I put my youngest to bed, I take my last waking moments to spend time with the Lord, even if it's just for a few minutes. You'd think that although my whole day already involved him wholeheartedly, I wouldn't need to, but I still do. I still intentionally take the time to go over my day with him. I named all the things I was grateful for that happened in that day. I talk about the things I could have done differently. Then I release the things I couldn't change and lay them all at his feet. And because I was once a lost sheep, I had come to know how my life in the past grieved the Holy Spirit. And because I know that there are still some lost sheep in the world, I turn and I ask God about his day. See, we sometimes forget because God is spirit, that he doesn't feel. I know from experience that he grieves over all the lost sheep. So you see, my daily pursuit is simple because I've seen his love for me, the love he proved when he died on that cross for all of us. And I've physically witnessed his love in my life and all around me. He not only saved my life, he gave me a second chance to build this beautiful relationship I never knew I could have. Because we are all aware that a true relationship is two-way, never one way.
The Six-Part Daily Blueprint
SPEAKER_00So now let's open up the teaching segment together. Because I want to give you not just inspiration, but a blueprint. Something you can actually begin living tomorrow morning. We're going to walk through this rhythm piece by piece, anchored in the word. Let's break this up into six parts. Part one. First, begin with gratitude, because how you enter matters. Scripture is so clear about the doorway. In Psalm 100, verse 4 says, Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him. Bless his name. This is telling us that thanksgiving is the gate, it's the entry point, which means when you wake up with a heart of gratitude, you are welcome in his presence, as stated in his word. Like thanking him for mercy and grace before your feet even touch the floor. Gratitude also does something to us. It shifts our focus from what we have in the present day rather than what we haven't yet received. It dismantles anxiety before it can take root. A grateful heart simply cannot stay fearful at the same time. So what would change if your very first words out of your mouth each morning was, God thank you before anything else. Part two, pray the word back to God. I want you to notice something powerful in my testimony. The daily prayers come straight from scripture. The Lord's Prayer, Psalm 23, Psalm 91, and Psalm 19, verse 14 shows us what Jesus taught his disciples in Matthew 6. When they asked him how to pray, he gave them words in scripture. In verse 9, it states, Jesus said, Pray then like this, and gave them the Our Father prayer. There is an incredible power in praying God's own word back to him. You're never wondering if you are praying in his will, because you are praying his will. Scripture-based prayer studies you on the days you don't have your own words. It is always a foundation you can return to when your emotions are unreliable. So, do you already have a few anchor scriptures you can pray daily? Or have you been relying only on your words that is filled with emotions? Part three. Your words are shaping your world. This is one we cannot skip because it's a spiritual law most believers ignore. Scripture says in Proverbs 18, verse 21, Death and life are in the power of the tongue. So you see, your tongue is not neutral. Every word you speak is planting a seed. So speaking declarations out loud, as in my testimony, isn't some empty positive exercise. It's agreeing out loud with what God says and releasing it over your day, your life, and your family. God himself created the entire world by speaking. He said, Let there be light, and because you are made in his image and his likeness, your words carry creative weight also. So be intentional about not cursing your own day with your mouth. Start speaking life. If you wrote down everything you said about yourself and your life from yesterday, would it be planting a seed of life? Part four, cultivate the stillness. Now let's talk about that meditation where the quiet becomes the stillness. Because this is where so many of us give up too soon. Psalm 46, verse 10 says, Be still and know that I am God. There's a reason God invites us into that stillness. Look at how he spoke to Elijah in 1 Kings 19. There was a great wind, but God wasn't in the wind. An earthquake, but God wasn't in the earthquake. And the fire, but God wasn't in the fire either. And then a still small voice, that's where God was. This is exactly what my testimony revealed. The enemy fights your stillness because he knows that's where you'll hear the Father's voice. So when you sit down and your mind floods with distractions and frustrations, recognize it for what it is a position. Don't quit. Just acknowledge the thoughts, let them pass, and keep showing up. And if you miss a day, keep going, just begin again. So when was the last time you sat in complete silence long enough to actually hear that still small voice? Part five. Proverbs 3 verse 6 says, In all your ways, acknowledge him, and he will make your path straight. This scripture is already simplified in the way it was written. Acknowledge him, and he directs your path. And then in 1 Thessalonians 5, verse 17, it says, Pray continuously. This is the secret hidden in this whole testimony, inviting him into the ordinary, your work schedule, the drive, the phone call, and the decisions. That's what it means to walk with God, not visiting him in a quiet time and then leaving him at the door, but carrying him into every single moment as your constant companion. The relationship stops being something you do and becomes someone you're with. Now that's profound. So where in your ordinary day, your schedule, your commute, your work, have you been leaving God out that you could start inviting Him into? Part six Close the day in peace. Because how you end the day matters as much as how you begin it. Isaiah 26, verse 3 promises us you will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast because they trust in you. This scripture is saying there is something so beautiful about closing the night with God, reviewing the day together, naming your gratitude, being honest about what you would have changed differently. And even as my testimony so tenderly models, asking the Holy Spirit about his day, because he is a person, not a force, he feels, he rejoices, he grieves over the lost. When you fall asleep with your mind steadfast on him, you don't just rest your body, you rest your soul in his perfect peace. So finally, what would your night feel like if you handed the entire day back to God before you closed your eyes? Every worry, every regret, and every gratitude. Sit with those reflective questions, and then let's settle into a moment with God. If you can take one slow breath and simply become aware that He is right here with us, not far off, but present.
Guided Prayer For Daily Closeness
SPEAKER_00In this very moment, let's pray. Father God, Psalm 100 says, We enter your gates with thanksgiving, so we come grateful for your mercy, for your grace, for the simple gift of another breath. Thank you for loving us enough to want our everyday. Teach us to begin our mornings with you before the worry and the noise. Teach us to pray your word, to speak life with our tongues, and to sit still long enough to hear your voice. Walk with us through our ordinary hours. Lord, walk with us into our work, the drive, the conversations, and the decisions. Remind us that we were never designed to walk our path alone. Be our constant companion, the one we talk with, and the one we are guided by throughout the entire day. And Lord, when night is coming to an end, quiet our minds and keep us in your perfect peace. Let us hand you every moment before we sleep, trusting you with all of it. Holy Spirit, we don't want a one-way relationship. We want to know you, to love you, to be present with you the way you are always present with us. So here we are, Lord, all day, every day, in your precious, holy name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Start Tomorrow And Stay Consistent
SPEAKER_00Now before we close, let me leave you with a few simple ways to begin. First, start tomorrow before your feet hit the floor. Speak gratitude. Name something you are grateful for. Just that one small shift can transform the entire rhythm of your day. Secondly, pick one ordinary moment to share with him. Maybe it's your work. Maybe it's your schedule. Maybe it's your commute. Whichever you decide, invite him in, talk with him, and not just at him. Then tonight, before you sleep, hand him your whole day. Build the rhythm one moment at a time. And if this episode blessed you, take a moment to follow the podcast and leave a rating wherever you listen. It truly helps these messages reach the hearts, searching for them. Episode nine is called creation. Because once you've built this daily closeness with God, he begins to partner with you. He starts entrusting you with assignments. He starts using you for his glory to build his kingdom in ways you never thought possible. But all of it requires one thing: courage, before you can see the whole staircase. Next time, we're going to talk about how God helped you create as you work on the assignments he has given you, what it means to be partnered with him, and how your obedient steps create a pathway of your life into purpose. You don't want to miss where this is going, because there is a message here for you from the one who created you. I'll be right here waiting for you. So start to give him your mornings, your midday, and your nights. Walk with him through it all, because it really does take two to build something beautiful. And he has already chosen you. I love you. God loves you more. Thank you for spending this time with me on Awareness Unlocked.
