Sponsors And New Podcast Launch

SPEAKER_01

Hey everybody, this is John Murray, and I am the Hillbully. Today's show is being brought to you by Brothers Laser, Burhand's Cross Funeral Home, Fed Recovery and Storage, Fed Structures, HP Storage, Highline Motorsports, Northwest Mutual, Merry Best Towing, Power Line Speedway, Solid Foundation Ministries, and Thundering the Hills Heat and Supply. I want to thank all the people that are come along with this. This is our new podcast that we're putting up, put together, and uh we're we're kind of leaving uh uh the radio uh a little bit behind. Uh, I'm sure we'll probably be back there someday. Uh, but right now we're gonna dedicate all of our time to this. So here's my intro today. I'll tell you what, friends, in the words of a hillbilly, there's a wind blowing across this land. The good book says in Ecclesiastics 3 1, to everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven. And I believe with every fiber of my being, this is a season for change in America. It's time to rise up, speak the truth, take back what the devil and his crowd have tried to steal from steal from God's people. This is your friend and fellow watchman on the wall, coming to you through the Marietta Broadcasting Network, where faith still stands tall, freedom still is worth fighting for. You can feel the rumble under the ground, folks. The people are waking up, and I want to thank Almighty God for President Donald J. Trump, a man with a backbone of iron and a heart that beats for the common folks of this nation. We've been pushed down, lied to, and told to sit quiet. But I say, not today. The time for silence is over, the season for standing up is here. So pull up a chair, loosen your tie, and get ready, because this is where the truth meets the microphone and the fire of freedom burns hot. This is your broadcast of revival and resistance, right here on the Marietta Broadcasting Network. I want to thank all the many people that helped me put this together. Um it's been a it's been a a real uh uh challenge and it and happened all at once. And um, I have my wife with me today. Hi, and she uh she she she came along because we're gonna do we're doing a little bit of a teaser for this first podcast because our our initial one's gonna be on Tuesday, and uh I I think that uh we have to move forward with what we're doing. We kind of hit like a uh uh we kind of peaked at the um top of the deal with uh with the radio, and uh we just couldn't seem to go no further. So now we're gonna try to get this podcast up and running. I'm not saying we're not gonna do no radio in the future, but but this is where we're at. I also have a good friend of mine. Uh I used to call him Ohio Brett, but now he's Coach Brett. And I and I want to thank him because if it wasn't for him, I probably wouldn't be sitting in this chair right here today on his podcast, getting things ready because he's the one that inspired me to do this. He kept after me, he kept pushing me, and so here we are. So, Coach Brett, take it away for a little bit.

Faith, Sports, And National Outreach

SPEAKER_02

Hey, come on, Hillbilly John, put me in the game, coach. I got my ankles taped, I'm stretched. I am so thankful to be on one of your very first podcasts. Because, John, as you know, and your precious family, as you hosted me many times over the years, many of you know that Brett Bowl from Dublin, Ohio, Ohio Brett, Coach Brett, I got some uh love for Hawaii and Aloha Brett. You can't pick your nickname, but you can choose to leave a legacy. And friends, I know this as being a guest on the radio show many times over the years, as I was going to all 50 states each year with my national podcast show for God and Country and Sports, aired on uh brightyon.tv and the Patriot Party News. I was so thankful for that run. But John, you would bring me on your radio show and I'd be somewhere in America just trying to unite the team at the local level with truth, the number one truth that could be found in scripture. That's why I encourage everybody to get into that precious Bible. Yes, I have a college football background, haven't played college football for Nick Saban. My dad was a famous athletic director. I do a lot of consulting for sports uh projects. Uh, I've I've done some work for the Hula Bowl college football all-star game, but I've been doing booster group fundraising since 2004. Over 20 years, John. I've been just trying to make a difference in the lives of others. And yes, I was nicknamed America's Encouragement Coach, but I do know this. As I had a chance to travel in person in Uniontown, in person with you and your precious family, being a guest speaker or just trying to give some love at the local level. I know this, that from your radio show, now the transition, into your podcast show, I have no doubt that the truth that you share from that beautiful Pittsburgh area of Pennsylvania, Uniontown, what a special, special part of America. The truth that you share at the local level, it will resonate and it will echo coast to coast, border to border, even around the world, everywhere under the firmament. I think that you will have followers. I got a feeling you're gonna have a lot of followers in Ireland and Australia down under, but definitely, John, in all 50 states, because I know you as a man, as a tremendous husband, as a business leader, as an elected official, but more importantly, as a trusted teammate that will share truth at the local level. And I just wanted to hop on board and really encourage you, John, as you make this transition from radio to the podcast world. Uh I look forward to if you'll have me, I'll come back in month to month. I'll be somewhere in America, you know, doing work, uh, either speaking or doing some fundraising work. But uh, I'm thankful that God tapped me to be a seed planter for Jesus first, and then help people raise dollars and be an encouragement to the team everywhere God allows me to go.

Local Truth With Global Echo

SPEAKER_01

Brett, I uh you've always uh ever since I met you, and uh and uh there's a story about that. We were we were at a political event, believe it or not, and uh Brett spoke, and um we uh I just ran out. Oh I didn't run out, but we we ended up meeting out in the hallway, and uh he shook my hand and uh and he quivered and I said, What's wrong? He says, I don't have time to talk to you tomorrow, but I have to talk to you. You be here tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. and I want to talk to you, and that's where it all started. Uh we we got we got together a couple times. You've stayed at my house, and you know you're always welcome uh to do that. Uh the NFL draft, by the way, is in Pittsburgh this year. Uh we'll have to see how that works out for for the uh uh for all the people in Ohio. Maybe maybe Pittsburgh will end up getting uh somebody that can throw the ball a little further than what what their last quarterback did. But uh anyways, uh I and I love football. And that that that's probably what that's probably what uh put us together. And uh uh I I can't thank him enough. And then then uh I said to him uh a while back, I said, uh I don't remember exactly when it was last summer, I said, hey, we need we need somebody to come to Uniontown to sing. And he says, I have the man to do that. And of course, he led in he led into my uh podcast, and it was Ira Dean. And uh Ira's been he he's he's turned into a friend, believe it or not. I mean, Ira's one of them he's one of the most famous songwriters probably in Nashville, and and uh I can pick up the phone. In fact, I could call him probably right now, and he'd answer the phone and say, Hey Hillbully, what are you up to? But uh it's it's kind of it's kind of neat. We're getting to meet. I've got the the radio show got me a lot of these things and got me to meet the things, but I I can see that uh um it I want to make this about this whole show. I want to make it about for we the people, I want to make it about faith, family, and freedom. And that's what it that's what this has to be about. And um that's that's that's where we're headed.

Friendship, Football, And Music Connections

SPEAKER_02

So well, John, I know you're gonna do a great job, John. And you know this, it's all about the team. Not everybody has a football background, but you know, I can't deny that I do, but I know it's all about the team, and even back to Ira Dean. I uh a treasured friend of mine who you'll meet someday, Glenn Baker with the Glenn Baker band, a stud Oklahoma boy with a booming deep voice. He's the one who introduced me to Ira Dean, and we became buddies, and then I'm not gonna keep it a secret. So that's what teammates do. You pass it forward, you pass it forward to help others, and I have no doubt with your transition from your great radio show to podcast and friends, if you're listening right now, get in line now. Uh he's gonna need financial support to keep the podcast going. And we already recognized some great sponsors earlier in the podcast. And thank you so much for all of you who sponsor John and his precious family with prayers first and real dollars that will make a difference. John will be a good steward of those dollars as he grows this national podcast, the uh Hillbilly John show, coast to coast, border to border, sharing truth with the team at the local level. John, uh you're a treasured friend of mine. You know that it's been an honor for me to be able to come on board and be a small encouragement to you and your family as you press forward with your national podcast show. And I'll look forward to to sending you many guests from the music world, from the sports world, from the business world, from just some amazing men and women uh that I've had a chance to meet, that God allowed it. I'll look forward to uh sending you some potential uh great, great men and women that would be a great interview on your podcast.

SPEAKER_01

Brett, I I thank you so much. Uh Patty, do you have anything to say to Brett? She she's she's she's speechless.

SPEAKER_00

Speechless. I'm just speechless.

SPEAKER_02

Hey Patty, I love you. You know, Patty, I'm a huge fan of your family. And Patty, your precious husband, and as what you both do together uh as a team is such an encouragement to me. As I I do, I'm in a season of life that I traveled, and and many of your listeners know from me coming on the radio show that yes, I was blessed to go to all 50 states three years in a row with a little overtime. 2022, all 50, 2023, all 50, 2024, we almost got all 50 done. But I got that call from someone who uh is in the sports world and was the owner of the hula bowl and I agreed to come on board as a uh consultant to help that, and uh still got a few to go and overtime. So people understand overtime, baby, overtime may take a couple more years, but we will get there. But I know this, Patty. Uh, you guys are an encouragement to me. So thank you, Patty. Thank you, John, for opening up your precious family to me. And uh I am forever indebted to what God allowed happen with our friendship.

SPEAKER_01

Well, Brett, I I thank you so much. Patty was gonna say something, I cut her off. Go ahead.

SPEAKER_00

Um, I just I just really appreciate our friendship. And like John said, you're welcome here at our place anytime you want to come by. Just give me a holler so I could get the grandkids off the bed.

SPEAKER_02

Here we go. Buckle up, baby. I'm coming back. I I do enjoy working uh the warm weather of Florida and Scottsdale, Arizona, and I may be going back to Hawaii here. I know it's been a rough winter all over the Midwest, but uh you uh uh beautiful families in that great Pittsburgh area. Boy, that's some tough winners there. Uh, and tough winners, W-I-N-N-E-R-S. You get a championship attitude for the men and women that live in Uniontown, that live in the Pittsburgh area. Western PA is some special people, some stud all Americans that are so worthy of support.

Teamwork, Sponsors, And Support

SPEAKER_01

Well, Brett, I appreciate you one more time. Uh, I'm gonna uh probably cut you loose now, but uh I want to thank you so much for coming on. I told you I needed you for a little bit, and I know you're visiting your family and you got things to do. Uh, but I do have one question for you. What's the temperature in uh St. Augustine right now?

SPEAKER_02

Oh man, it was really cold today. It was about 82, it was really sunny. I had to, you know, I had to get some shade. Come on, baby. Hey, you guys are welcome. Hey, this podcast show, I'm gonna encourage you to take the show on the road because many of you know that Brett Bowl from Dublin, Ohio. I love my home state of Ohio. 88 counties, over 800 high schools, and I've been blessed to speak in a lot of them with my sports background. But you got an open invite. I've got a beautiful place in Daytona Beach that I'll be traveling out of. I won't be there often, but you know, I'll at least be there a couple weeks every month as uh I'm in this season of life that God has me on the road. So any of your uh viewers, uh the radio show or the national podcast, I'm one invitation away of being invited to come to speak and encourage folks in your town. Uh just get a hold of Hillbilly John. He knows how to call me on that coconut telegraph. No whether, no matter where I'm at in America, I'll look forward to coming serving you. So God bless you, Patty. God bless you, John, and congratulations on this new venture transitioning from radio to a national podcast.

Gratitude And Open Invitations

SPEAKER_01

Thanks a lot, Brett. You take care and stay safe, my friend. God bless. Yep. Hey, uh I'm gonna let Brett, I'm gonna let Brett off the off right now, but uh one thing I do want to mention uh before we finish this up. Uh this wasn't intended to be very long today, but one thing I do want to mention is is um uh we need to sit down, take a minute, grab your Bibles, and uh please pray for our troops right now. Uh they're under they're under attack. Um we we we lost three soldiers here today, I believe. Uh, you know, people that was willing to give the ultimate sacrifice so we could uh do podcasts, so we could say what we wanted in front of anybody in the whole world. And uh once again, we need to pray for our president because I I would imagine right now he he's he's under scrutiny by a lot of people, but uh he's also uh there's a lot of people right now that are gonna try to get to him. Uh so we have to we have to pray for him and make sure that uh he uh that God guides him in everything he says and does in the next few weeks. And hopefully this doesn't last very long. I seen it uh uh and our the Iranians, I seen the Iranians were already uh celebrating, thanking uh the United States and thanking Israel Israel for what they did. And it's uh you know, the number one regime in the whole world that sponsors terrorism is Iran. And we we need to we need to take it back. We we we cannot let this go on, and we so I want to thank our president for what he's doing. Um, and hopefully God guides him the right way. Patty, do you have anything else you want to say?

SPEAKER_00

I do not. I'm just glad to be here in a different place.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, um speaking of that, I want to thank Butch. Uh Butch is running for Senate, uh, for state senate, uh over here. And uh he he is one terrific gentleman. Uh he he's helped me put a lot of put this together, and we're gonna have him on. And I I really want to thank him so much. Um and well, I have to thank everybody. I have to thank uh all the people who put this together for me. Um and uh that's about all I have to say today. So we're gonna we're gonna I'm gonna do my uh normal closing that I'd been doing for radio for the last six five or six years, and uh we'll see you again on Tuesday about four o'clock. So on the show called life, you have to take the good with the bad, smile with the sad, love what you got, and remember what you had. Always forgive, but never forget. People change, things go wrong. Just remember the ride goes on. God bless each and every one of you, and God bless America. I am John Marietta, and I am the hillbelly.
