SPEAKER_01Alright, let's turn in our Bibles this morning, if you will, please, to the book of Mark. Max Gospel chapter 16. It's the very last chapter of Mark. Max Gospel chapter 16. We're gonna be enjoying the entire chapter, 20 verses, and we will move on as the Lord helps us this morning. Praise God. Mark chapter 16 from verse 1. Oh, meanwhile, we're we're live on YouTube, isn't it? Yeah, okay. Yeah, so um we we need to help some people get to church. So if you would uh kindly take a minute to copy the link and put it out on your status so that we can help some people enjoy Jesus this uh Easter Sunday. Okay, um it's on the group, I believe. Yes, it is. Uh no, it's not on the group. Let's uh okay, we'll just fetch it from YouTube directly, or you can help us put it on the group so we can take it there and let the rest of the world know that this Jesus is alive. Hallelujah. No, Jesus is alive, okay. Hallelujah. The death could not hold him, they'll talk before him. Powerful, powerful thing, powerful lyric. Okay. I'm almost there. Hallelujah. No, it's a it's a sound of joy. You know, it's it's a beautiful thing to have children that can move and can run and can jump and can make noise. Yes, and glorify God. Amen. Okay, let's get that out there and let's get the second one there.
SPEAKER_02I'm almost done. Okay.
SPEAKER_01Alright, so let's get back to our text then. We're in Mark's gospel chapter 16, and we would read the 20 verses as we have it there. So here begins the reading of God's word. It says, Now, when the Sabbath was passed, Mary Magdalene, the mother, Mary Magdalene, Mary, the mother of James, and Salome brought Pisces that they might come and anoint him. Very early in the morning on the first day of the week. They came to the tomb when the son had risen, and they said among themselves, We will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for us. But when they looked up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away, for it was very large. And entering the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a long white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed. But he said to them, Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is reason, is not here. See the place where they lay him. But go and tell, go tell his disciples, and Peter that is going before you into Galilee, there you will see him. And he said, as he said to you. So they went out quickly and fled from the tomb, for they trembled and were amazed, and they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid. Now, when he arose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven demons. She went and told those who had been with him as they mourned and wept, and when they heard that he was alive and had been seen by her, they did not believe. After that, he appeared in another form to two of them as they walked and went into the country. Everybody help me with verse 14. One to go. Later he appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table and rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen him after he had reason. Let me continue. And he said to them, Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved, but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe in my name, they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues, they will take up serpents, and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them. They will lay hands on the sick and they will recover. So then, after the Lord has spoken to them, it was received up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God. Everybody help me, verse 20. And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord walking with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Hallelujah. I'm just gonna start out a teaching today that I've titled The Significance of Easter. The significance of Easter. Father, we thank you because you're here already and because your word is blessed. Thank you, Father, in Jesus' name we pray. Amen. And and just before we jump into all of that, um the there's a story that kind of started from last week, Palm Sunday, and and I talked to us about that being the triumphant entry leading to this weekend of his crucifixion and subsequent resurrection. And I thought it's important to look through the event, um, we look through the event through the lens or the lenses, you would say, of the apostles and the disciples of Jesus Christ. And the Holy Ghost kind of began to stir my heart up this morning about the journey they went through, and how that that journey, in so many ways, is significant and is also descriptive of the journey of faith with God. Hallelujah! That the the the that entire week for the disciples holds certain truths and significance for us that the Holy Ghost will have us glean from, learn from, and and that our faith can also be strengthened in the same light. Glory to God. And and there are seven stages that I see them go through in that entire week. You remember last week we we had gone on um looking at Mark chapter 11, and that's Max the triumphant entry into Jerusalem. Now that story started there with Jesus telling his disciples that they should go and they will find a cult tied by a way that nobody ever sat on. And and and they went there, and the confidence to go there. So the first state I see the disciples in is in the state of confidence. Someone say confidence. They had been working with him, they had seen miracles, they had seen signs and wonders. So now, by the time they got to Jerusalem, these guys were excited, okay? So Jesus told them, You go find a cult and and untie it. And if anybody asks you why you untie me, tell them the master has need of it. It takes only uh come on, guys, talk to me now. I I know you all love me and you respect me, but I doubt if I told you after service, I said, Uncle Ife, um, just go down the road, you will see one nice Ferrari packed on the right side. Please just start, just get into it and bring it. If anybody asks you why, tell them PF needs it. I mean, you're gonna say maybe out of respect, you say, Pastor, Pastor, okay, sir, then you run away. You see, because just the idea of going somewhere. So, are you following what I'm saying? What entered them that they went to go and untie a cult? You do you get where I'm going at? That's a lot of confidence, isn't it? They they just believe if Jesus says so, that's it. We're going and we're gonna get it, okay? And they went there and they got it because they've seen power, they've seen things happen, and then they they had the triumphant entry, and then later on, the Bible says Jesus went into the temple and he began to chase the the buyers and sellers out of the place. Imagine as Jesus was pushing the table. What do you think Peter was doing? They too must have been pushing something. Say, Come on, get out. Our master is they guys, these guys were confident, they they were sure they were with the savior, they were certain they had this thing sorted out, they were convinced that this is the way to go. We are following Jesus. Hallelujah. All kinds of joy and excitement. But as the week progressed, they manifested different things. But by the time you get to um, by the time you begin you get to to later on the chapter, let me see. Uh by the time you get to chapter that for chapter, let me say 14 now or or down to 1415. So Jesus came to the point of the last supper. And this this is interesting now because as the last supper was going to take place, Jesus told them again that as they moved on, they were gonna see a man carrying water. They should follow the man. When the man gets there to the house, ask them that where is the place you prepared for the master, and you need to understand what was going on here. And they followed the guy, and then he said, Where's the place? The man said, Okay, yes, I have a place prepared upstairs. Are you guys following this thing? Imagine that because we're looking for a venue for church now. Praise God. And then I called Pastor Kiddy after I said, Pastor Kiddio, I said, When you leave here, as you're driving, just turn to your right, you will see a magnificent building. Go there and tell them, Where is the place you prepare for global harvest? Amen. And they say, Oh, we have a space, and then so they went in for the last supper, confident, confident, may we find courage to follow Jesus and do whatever he tells us to do. Isn't that powerful? Yeah, so they now got there, and this time the place was prepared for them. Only that something was about to switch because as they sat down to eat with Jesus, Jesus now begins to tell them, Hey, one of you is going to betray me, something is going to happen, and that statement turned them into another dimension of confusion. Because here the word with the savior that they believed was going to deliver Israel, and now he's talking to them about betrayal. They could even handle, I mean, somebody could try to betray you, but must it end in death? Now he was saying that, and the Bible told us um in verse some somewhere between uh verses 17 that they began to get sorrowful. Okay, so it was the beginning of weight coming upon them as they they were asking themselves, how is this thing gonna happen? So they began to get sorrowful, and Jesus himself also got sorrowful, so much so that he went to the garden of Gethsemane and began to pray there. Are you following what I'm saying? So they had the confusion going on there, but that that entire episode began to graduate from their confusion, it moved into sorrow because eventually that day the Bible told us uh uh uh uh um um the Bible told us that Jesus was captured and he was beaten. I mean, so that that progression began to turn real quick for them. And and there they were. Jesus is beaten. The Bible says they were filled with sorrow, they had fear, they were bewildered. I check this word bewilderment. They were bewildered, they were in shock. They were this is not what we thought this was going to be. Was what was going on there in the mind. And Jesus was captured. Now, watch this because that season kind of prolonged a little. He was captured, he was beaten, he was wounded, and then they hung him high and stretched him wide on the cross, and Jesus died. And as he died, they brought him down eventually and put him in a tomb. It was a very dark time for them. They were heavy-hearted and all of that, but they switched into the third phase. The third phase was guilt. Someone say guilt. This came about because now Jesus is dead, but some of them then started talking to themselves like Peter. Oh, maybe if I had not denied him, maybe they will have released him, maybe there's something I could have done. And don't forget that even though Peter denied him, all of them fled, isn't it? Yeah, all of them deserted him, all of them took off, and Jesus was left alone by himself. So, in their conversation, I see them dealing with guilt and asking themselves, maybe we could have done something, maybe we should have rescued him, maybe we could have rescued him. Mark chapter 14, verse 50 says, Then they all forsook him and fled. In fact, he then told the story of a certain young man in verse 51 who having a linen of clothes thrown around him, his body, he says, But the guy, when they wanted to take hold of him, the guy left his linen and fled from them naked, ran away. Just there, everybody took off. So at the end of the day, it wasn't only Peter that was guilty, all of them were guilty, and they dealt with the guilt in their hearts, and they guilt they dealt with the burden there. But then the season switched again because it was Sunday morning, and Jesus rose from the grave. And then these women came and said, Hey, Jesus is risen. Now, you see, it's good, it's good news for their guilty souls, but they still were in disbelief. Is it really possible? Did he really resurrect? And the Bible told us Jesus walked with two of them on the road to admire us, and then and then eventually they discovered it was Jesus, and they came back and told the disciples, though the guy still could not you see, they they wanted to believe, but it was just too good to be true. That is this really happening, they were still in shock about that. But Jesus then showed up and sat with them at the table and revealed himself to them. He says, Lu, look at my hands, look at my side. You know, the Bible told us Philip was not there at that time, and then by the time he came, they told Philip, he said, Hey, all of us we've seen him, and all that. Philip said, No, until I see him with my own eyes and put my hand on the side and through the nails in his hands, I will not believe. And guess what? Jesus came and said, Peter, I said, Philip, come and do what you said you wanted to do. It's amazing how Jesus meets us wherever we are, you know, and and all of that, and then they believed. So now they switched from disbelief into number five, joy. They came into a place of joy. Now they were filled with gratitude. Their master is alive, they are delighted, just like we are this morning. That Jesus is alive. Somebody give God praise and glory. Filled with gratitude. Church, they didn't stop in the fifth phase, they moved to the sixth phase. I call the sixth phase a phase of conviction. This is a place of persuasion because as they celebrated that it was alive and delighted themselves in the fact that Jesus rose from the grave, Jesus then gave them this commission. Since you guys believe this, go and tell everybody. Preach this good news all over the world. Let somebody know what I did, let them understand the importance of what I just went through. So Jesus gave them the mandate, and we read in verse 20 how that they went everywhere, they were preaching this gospel, and Jesus was confirming the word as they went. Hallelujah! Beautiful, beautiful place of conviction that this thing is real, this thing is true. But I see a seventh phase that's not necessarily in our text, but I can infer it nonetheless. And I put the seventh phase as a face of sacrifice. Someone says sacrifice the place of sacrifice is where they went beyond conviction to the point where they were now laying down their lives for what they believed. They were willing to die for this truth that they've seen. You know, in first John chapter 1, verses 1 to 5, John said these words that were powerful. He said, That which was from the beginning. John, first John chapter 1, from 1 to 5. 1 John 1, 1 to 5. It says that which was from the beginning, which we have what? Heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled concerning the word of life. It says the life was manifested, and we have seen and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us. It says, That which we have seen and heard, we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us. And truly, our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. Verse 4, and these things we write to you that your joy may be full. He says, This is the message which we have heard from him and declared to you that God is a light and in him there's no darkness at all. Hallelujah! Glory to God. They said, We have handled it, we've we've told, we've held it, we've seen it. This thing is tangible, we know what we're talking to you about, and so much so that they got to the point where they were willing to lay down their lives for this truth. When they said, Deny this Jesus, they said, What are you talking about? The one we have handled, we cannot deny him. We we we talk about Acts chapter 4, where Peter and John will say, Don't preach anymore. In they say, even you think about it, even you ask yourself, is it right to obey you or to obey God? You say, Do you people have common sense? I mean, the courage, the conviction, the persuasion had come to that point where their life meant nothing to them anymore. Hallelujah. Paul was not there at that time, but I believe Paul also came into that dimension because in Acts chapter, by the time you get to Acts of the Apostles now, Paul was speaking in in Acts 20 from verse 22. What they're gone to speak to the elders, and he had pioneered and and and pastored the church in Ephesus, and then he came back to speak with the elders. And this time he was on his way to Jerusalem, and hear what he said to them with confidence. It says in verse 22, Acts 20 from verse 22, it says, And see, now I go bound in the spirit to Jerusalem, not knowing the things that will happen to me there, except that the Holy Spirit testifies in every city, saying that change and tribulations await me. Verse 24. Everybody help me one to go, but none of these things move me, nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy and the ministry which I receive from the Lord Jesus to testify to the gospel of the grace of God. Hallelujah. He said, We've gone beyond this thing. Look, this is where we've so we are sold out to this cause. Our lives are laid down for the purpose of this gospel because we've gone beyond persuasion, we are in sacrifice now. Jesus died for this truth, and we know it is a truth worth dying for. They said, Yeah, we've seen it. He resurrected this manifestation of God to us cannot be denied. Global harvest, I see God bringing each person to that place where you know that you know and you know, and nobody can take it away from you. That it is not a matter we start talking like the Hebrew children and say, King, we're not careful to answer you in this matter. The God we serve is able to deliver us, and he will deliver us. And should he not deliver us, we know him too much than to deny him. We've gone past what God does and does not do. Hallelujah. We'll in the place where we know he is God, and that's all. Hallelujah. And the Holy Ghost began to say to me this morning that as disciples of Jesus, sometimes our lives are like that one week with the disciples. That sometimes in our journey of following the Lord, we start from the place of confidence. Now you've accepted Jesus in your heart, and you're you know you are saved. You know that you know that you know. And somebody asks, How do you know when you're born again? You will know. The Holy Spirit will bear witness with your spirit that you are a child of God. Romans 8 tells us that it will bear witness with your spirit, you will know that you've passed from death to life. Life aging used to say, You will know in your noah, you just know it that something has changed. Hallelujah! Hallelujah. I said, Hallelujah. What a great change that took place when I met the Lord. I'm so grateful to God that He delivered me. Anybody grateful in the house? Glory to God. Oh, what a wonderful, wonderful day. The day I can never forget how I wandered in darkness away. Jesus, my savior, I met. Oh, what a tender, compassionate friend. He met the needs of my heart. Shadows dispel him with joy. I am telling, he made all my darkness depart. Heaven came down, and glory filled my soul. Glory to God. That's the best way to describe it. Glory fills your soul. You just go back home with joy, knowing we are saved. Hallelujah. Confident that this God is good, confident that this God does amazing things, and that our journey starts out that way in a place of joy and excitement. We are hopeful, we are delighted, and we begin to move on in serving the Lord. But the Lord said to me, Sometimes the stage two comes in. What's stage two? Confusion. Sometimes you're wondering, wait, wait, wait, wait. This is not what he said was good. This is what he said was gonna happen. I mean, like disciples are saying, wait, now that you're talking about death, and somebody that's not the this this is not the thing we thought, this is not how we thought this thing's gonna play out here. I mean, we didn't know that this you mean trouble. Somebody says, Pastor, I don't know what I just told the truth and they fired me. I just told the truth. Yes, sometimes, sometimes we get punished for doing the right things. Oh yes, oh yes. Sometimes you stand for righteousness and it does not necessarily bring elevation in the natural. Oh, but don't be deceived, there's elevation in the spirit. Oh yes, oh yes, and that's what the Bible says. We should even be people who sometimes are ridiculed for doing the right thing. I'll never forget my my first my second job actually. I I would gone to work and I and I wanted to fill the attendance shit. I worked in a particular organization in Nigeria at the time, and when I got in, I just wrote, I think I've gotten about eight 845, and I wrote 845. And then only for my seniors to come. And I said, How can you write 845? You see, so now what are we going to write? You see, because what they wanted was I should have I should have clocked in maybe 7:15 so that they can come in, you know. But now that I put 45, so that means they came later. That means there's only a 15 minutes margin. I'm like, oh, but that's when I came. I'll be you people are keeping quiet. Passen, what time did I come? Thank you, sir. 745. Did I not come 745? So, what should I have written? You won't believe that deliberately because of them. I now come a bit late. So at least let them come so that I can write the real time I came. Yes, so I can get to those like 750, 75 because it was supposed to be before eight. So let them come and write anything they like so that I can at least come and write my 755 in peace and go and walk. Praise God. Persecution for righteousness' sake. But you know, sometimes you wish that this not we say, you know, sometimes they say, Oh, you know, if if you're a Christian, life they think life will not happen. No, sometimes bad things happen to good people, bad things happen to righteous people. You know, and God is so complete that when you look at the account of the birth of John the Baptist in Luke chapter 1, the Bible told us and chronicled the life of Zechariah and Elizabeth, and to help those religious people who think bad things only happen when you commit sins. The Bible told us that in all things they were blameless, they were without fault, they were good people. If God says you are good, you are good. And yet Elizabeth was barren, she didn't have any child, nothing wrong. The only problem is that they were born into this earth because the earth has been messed up. The only problem is that Adam and Eve had committed sin. And so, sin and iniquity and all kinds of things have passed on, and so they were born into this nature, and thank God for God, He was the one that intercepted. You see, sometimes you need to understand what Jesus does is to undo what the devil has done. You see, because the devil has done that damage already. Thank God for God in their lives. That's why in old days they could still have children because God is there. Are you following what I'm saying here? Yeah, the Bible told us it was not a fault, there was nothing wrong. There, they were good people, it's just a life still life sometimes. Because the enemy likes to lock us in number three, real quick, which is guilt. I know that sometimes when somebody starts asking, maybe I maybe it was what I did three years ago, or maybe it was what I did five years ago, or maybe God has not. I mean, I met a couple, God bless their darling hearts, bless their darling hearts. Let me okay, let me tell you another story. I want to say this because it's important. So, as a pastor, we do premarital counseling, and so I had this couple walk into the office um in my former pastorate, and then we're talking about them getting married, and I had the final class with them, which was on sex. And typical of me, I just ask sometimes, have you guys slept with each other? Now let me backtrack and tell you something about sometimes. You need to tell this story. I was in House on the Rock, uh, led by Pastor Paul Adefaras in Nigeria some years ago. One of our friends was getting married, and it was in 300 levels at the time, and she was getting married, and then we went, and and and and Pastor Paul was doing said you may now kiss the bride if you've never kissed that before. And the guy froze. Yeah, because I mean I've been a Christian for a while by then, but I've never heard that before. I heard you may now kiss the bride. But Pastor Paul said, You may now kiss the bride if you've never kissed that before. And the guy froze there. And I'm like, uh oh, okay, then Pastor Paul now says, All things are passed away, all things are become new, you can kiss the bride. And the guy went on and kissed the bride. Now, right there, I made up my mind that by the time I'm getting married, if my pastor ever says, if you've never, I don't want to be found guilty. So I made up my mind, I'm not gonna kiss this babe until I marry her. Well, I don't know if you hear what I'm saying. And and now that my motivation started from there, but later on I now discovered why it was important. Because I've since discovered you don't kiss and stop with kissing alone. Usually, except you're not a good kisser. There's a that okay, there's PG 13. But let me just say, you see, some other things go with it. So the idea is don't start what you can't finish, and don't let your brain start traveling in directions it has no business traveling. But do you understand what I'm saying? Uh, can you speak up a little? Amen. So don't start out on a journey you have no business going. Yeah. So later on, I discovered that wisdom of don't Ecclesiastes says, uh no, someone says, Don't wake up love until you're ready. Don't start, don't start, don't start this thing because if you start it, you have no idea where it ends. Before you know it, you may become a progenitor.
SPEAKER_02Anyway, are you still here?
SPEAKER_01Are you still here? So do you know that that so when Bosco said that that kind of created something for me, and and it got me into that space where I realized, oh, it's important to set your path right and work in these things that you need to do. So now this couple then came, then I asked them, Oh, have you ever, and then this they said, so so the oh, and I've seen a few things happen over over time. So the but the both said no. Now let me tell you something. I've had a couple sit before me and I asked the same question. So have you guys ever and the guy said yes, the lady, no, the guy said no, the girl said yes. And I'm like, oh, okay, um, praise God. Um, you know, yes, you know, no, to get the have you ever then they answered? The guy said no, guys said yes, and I you know, and I know ladies tell more okay. Well, most times the ladies are more truthful, okay. Praise God. It's the truth, thank you then. So, guys, guys gotta have chest, guys have chests for more bad things than than ladies do, kinda. So, and then you know, then walk them through us. Okay, but you guys, now that you're here, you're about to honor God. Can so between now and your marriage, can you please honor God? Can we do this as onto the law? They say yes, Pastor. So, all right, let's go there. Then we'll move on from there. Does that make sense? Yeah, so you know, ask them. So this couple came and they both said no, and then we did what we normally do, encouraged them, taught them, taught them very, very, very well. Actually, in fact, we like that class because we have to teach you well, there's a way to do it well, and and then so they moved on, traveled to Ireland, and then I got a call about a year, about two years after, and and they were talking to me, and and the lead said, Pastor, we just want to apologize. I said, What Don? So, oh, when we came to your office, you asked us this question, and and we lied. And since then, we've been trusting God for a baby, baby hasn't come and all that. We just wanted to, you know, retrace our steps, and uh, and my heart was broken. Now, let me tell you two things. You know, Peter had said in Acts chapter 5 when Ananias and Sapphira uh brought the offering to the Lord, and then he said, Why did Satan fill your heart to lie to the Holy Ghost? And even though it was Peter they were talking to, Peter was saying, I don't represent myself, I'm a representative of God. So when I stand, it's the Holy Ghost putting us there. We are not anointed of ourselves. All these pastors, no one takes this honor into himself. It's God that calls us. So we represent him, and and church needs to be mindful of that. We are God's servants, you know. So, so that that that was one level, but the other level was I knew they must have said sorry to the Lord, I knew they must have repented. Now, but what the devil was doing is that he was taking advantage. Listen, the moment they confessed before the Lord, they were forgiven. In Christ, we have forgiveness of sins, is our justification. So the moment they humble themselves before the Lord, because 2 Chronicles 7 14 says, if my people will who are become our name will humble themselves and pray and turn from their wicked ways, okay, is it's and seek my face and turn from the wicked ways, I will hear from heaven, I will forgive their sins, and I will heal their land. So it's part of once they confessed, they were forgiven, it's in the package already. But the enemy still held them by the juggler, still harassed them and said, See, this lie if you people think you've confessed and it's over. No, you're in trouble, you're not gonna, and he held them down. And I told them that day, I said, Luke, thank you for talking to me. Your sins are forgiven. Let faith rise in your heart and believe that God is for you. Don't let the devil take advantage of you. Because Romans 8:1 tells us, there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. If you are in Christ Jesus, you are not condemned anymore. No, you're not anymore. Jesus was condemned for your justification. So now in Christ you are justified. You are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Now we are righteous. So the enemy held them down. So, two lessons there. Number one, mess with sin, it will mess you up. Don't put yourself in a place where you know the devil can then start harassing you and doing all those kinds of things with your life. Don't, don't sin is still a sinker, don't meddle in it. We have no business in it. But should you have made a mistake and you've confessed it before the Lord, don't let guilt kill you. That's why, even though they were in guilt, God made sure they didn't stay there. Jesus came. Did you notice that when they found got to the tomb of Jesus? Did you notice what that angel said to them when they got there? It said, look at it again. Because I want to show you something. It's very important you see this. You see what he said? By the time you get to 16 now, um, thank you, Jesus. So see what he said in um six, is he? Okay, yes. Good, six and seven. It says he says to them, but he said to them, Church, help me. What did he say? Do not be alarmed. You see, Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified, he is reason, he is not here. See the place where the land go and tell his disciples and peter that he's going before you into Galilee, there you will see him as he said to you. Wait, is you should go and tell who and who why Peter? Because Peter was the one with the behavior's guilt. Peter was dealing with the fact that I come three times. Peter had made mouth. If anybody ever does me, I'm going to stay with you. Jesus and say, Hey, Peter, Peter said, I'm telling you, you don't you Jesus, you don't even know me, you don't even know me, or Jesus. And said, I if everybody else for sex is okay, before three times, and they came in small girl came before Peter. Peter said, What did you call his name? Ju Jesus. What this I've never seen him before, and so by the time that call crow, yeah, by the time that call crow, that's why somebody says, Have you noticed that Christians like chicken a lot? He says, We are all trying to look for the chicken that crow after Peter crowed three. That's why we'll be killing chicken everywhere. So, because that chicken did Peter bad, you know. So Peter had this heavy guilt, so he had to call him out. He says, Go and tell that and tell Peter. Come on, get out of guilt, get out of the heaviness. Jesus is alive, your sins are forgiven you. Glory to God. So I'm saying to you, you have a great future. Because somebody right now, you're in number four, you are in disbelief. You can't even believe that past is gone. Yes, it is gone. If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature. All things have passed away. Behold, all things are become new, including the mistakes you made yesterday. God is not looking over his shoulder to try to drown you with it. Psalm 103, he tells us, he said, as far as the east is from the west, how far is the east from the west? You just think about it a little. It is endless, it is continuous ad infinitum. It is it is continues until there's no end to it. He says, As far as the east is from the west, that's how he has removed your transgressions from you. So the sin you are still confessing after 20 years. He said, I can't even see it. It's buried in the blood. Hallelujah! Buried in the blood, so that you step out of guilt and let your faith begins to rise in the Lord your God, that He is on your side, and you move to the stage five, which is joy. Now you know the truth that Jesus died for you. Let your heart be filled with joy, be filled with gratitude, that it does not end with your mistake. Oh, the Bible tells us that weeping may endure for a night. Psalm 30 verse 5. Let's even look at the entire verse. Psalm 30 verse 5. Hear what it says about that. Oh, yes, as far as this is from the West, so far as removed that transcription from us. It says Psalm 35, verse 5 now. Verse 5.

SPEAKER_01For his anger is bought for a moment, his favor is for life, his favor over your life is for your lifetime. His favor is for life. We reverse this thing. We think his favor is for a moment, and his anger, you see, we think you think you think God forgot you don't know God. You don't know God. You think yeah, you just say, Lord, I'm sorry for the mistake, and you think it's over like that. Guy, you see, that voice is the voice of your great grandfather that's talking. Yeah, it might even be your mom that's saying that sound is your mom, not Jesus. You see, that one you you come and you looked at something, and she turned and looked at you, and you knew, even you knew that it's about to be death, resurrection, uh, death, burial, and resurrection because of because of that look, just the look alone, but not God, not God, his anger is but for a moment, his favor is for your life, for your entire life. So remember, there is favor over you today. There is favor over you today, in spite of your mistakes, in spite of everything, there is favor over you today. Someone said, Thank you, Jesus. And he now says to us, Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. So, through the tough season, the bad season, it will not end there. There is greater joy ahead of you. On Saturday, I remember I was I was I was I followed the YouTube uh the U version thing sometimes, and they were talking about the quiet Saturday. He said, Imagine what happens between Friday and Sunday. Saturday was the odd one. In fact, yesterday we're talking to our sister-in-law, and I said to her, I said, Oh, uh, I said, Good Saturday, and then she said, Good Saturday, that it doesn't sound nice. I said, I said, Yeah, I get it because the first Easter Saturday was not a good one, it was a very sad one. In fact, it must have been one of the longest days because they woke up in guilt, feeling like oh, all hope is gone. This Jesus is dead, and they were there. Oh my god, but it is Easter Saturday, so it's this good Saturday, it is a good day. We pin men joy for running home. Joy comes in the morning. Your Easter Monday, Easter Sunday is coming. Oh, yeah. So even if you feel like you're in that Saturday now that is looking gloomy and dark, I came to tell you, your Lord is alive. Let this good news sink in your heart that Jesus is alive. Can somebody give God praise and glory? Oh, yes, oh yes, oh yes, that joy comes, and then from there, let's move to number six. Because now this should bring conviction in your heart. Some of us have been through this cycle before, and now you've experienced God's joy. What did the story tell you? What did what lessons did you get from being down and lifted by the hand of God? Some of us have been down in guilt and we've experienced the forgiveness of sins. What did He tell you about God? What is your persuasion now about God? What is your conviction now about the truth? You must come to a place in your work with God that you can look back at your life and say, based on the things I've seen God do, this God is a good God. Look, we look at it, and we came. I came to a conclusion. I want to thank him for his faithfulness. What is your own conclusion? As I looked at the Hebrews, Hebrews 11 tells us it we call it the hall of faith, and it talks about some powerful people doing powerful things. But I want to bring your attention to two of them this morning. In verse 11, Hebrews chapter 11 and verse 11, it talks about Sarah. It says, By faith, Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age. Why, church? What is your own judgment of God? What is your own conviction? What is your own persuasion? As you look at this God you've worked with through the cycles and the seasons, what is your own judgment? What's your estimation? What's your conviction about God? Someone say, God is faithful. Say, God is a good God. Say, I look into my life and I cannot be deceived. Say, I have handled these things, I have handled the goodness of the Lord. And take a look at verse 17 now. Talks about our husband. 17 to 19. It says, By faith, Abraham, when tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises, offered up his only begotten son, of whom it was said, In Isaac your seed shall be called. Verse 19. Everybody help me, once you go.
SPEAKER_02Look at that. He said he concluded.
SPEAKER_01What is your conclusion about? What is your conclusion? He said, The reason he took Isaac, and this is so powerful. The reason he took Isaac on that journey is because he knew God, he's God. Jabi is the one that brought him. He said he brought him out of death. He can bring him back out of death again. Let me tell you what he's saying. His body was dead, Sarah's womb was dead, both of them dead. God brought life out of death. So he concluded if he did it the first time, even if I kill this boy, he will bring life back. The reason he went on that mountain was because he had a conviction about God. What is your conviction? This last. Five years that you've been saved, ten years you've been saved. What is your persuasion about God? What do you really believe about him? Because you must take a claim for this Jesus. When somebody tells you about this Jesus, what will you say about him? What's your belief about him?
SPEAKER_02Hallelujah.
SPEAKER_01And that takes us to sacrifice where you know it is more than the things he does and doesn't do. This walk with him, you've experienced him to the point where you know, look, the monies, the contracts, the deals, the marriages, the babies, those things are good and they will come. But if they don't come, I've known him, and my conclusion is that he's a good God. This is the reason. Peter said, Don't crucify me like my savior. Crucify me upside down. Well, they threw some of them into boiling oil, some of them were torn in two with horses pulling on both sides. You see, they are going to a point where they told themselves, look, ah, I have tasted and known that God is good. So it's beyond, and this is the this is the truth of in one week, in one week, they came to the point of sacrifice. In one week, so you know what? Let's go on. This life is for me to lie, for me to live is Christ. It is Christ to die is the game. It's I know I've come to understand it, and and I'm challenging. I'm gonna continue from here on Thursday because the foundation upon which all of this is built, we begin to dig into it. But look at the trajectory of their lives in one week. Where are you on your journey? Are you in confidence? I'm grateful to God for you, my brother. Have you moved? Are you confused about something? Come out of confusion. If you're dealing with guilt, come out of it. Let joy fill your heart because this God has been good to you. If you look back, you will see his hand. You cannot deny his hand. So we come to the place of sacrifice and live your life for him, boldly declaring that God is God and I will serve him with the whole of my life. Global lovers, rise with me this morning.
