So let's turn in the Bibles this morning to Luke's Gospel chapter 24. We're gonna be thinking like three passages just to help with comprehension. Luke's Gospel 24. And we will take you from verse 44 to 49. Oh, if you'd like to write Luke's Gospel 24, 44 to 49. And then we'll go to the answer, apostles. And the Psalms concerning Jesus and his resurrection speaking to the disciples. And he opened their understanding that he might comprehend the scriptures. And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And you are witnesses of this thing. Behold, I send the promise of my father upon you. But tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are in human power from on high. Acts 1 and 8. And it said, and you but you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be witnesses to me in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria until the end of the earth. Now just chapter 2, right there, and from verse 1. And it says, Ever let's take it together, one to four. And when the day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues as of fire, and one sat upon each of them, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. Father, we ask for a fresh baptism today. Breathe on us, O God. Yes, let every hungry and thirsty heart be filled according to your word, and let Jesus and Jesus alone be glorified. Father, we give you all the praise. In Jesus' name we'll pray. Amen. So Jesus had spoken to his disciples and and and through all his life and ministry, he had encouraged them to honor God and different things they were meant to do. But to what's the end, the what we call the Great Commission was given. Matthew 28 captures that from verse 19. He says that they should make disciples of all nations, and then baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. And then Mark 16, where global harvest name is taken from verse 15, he had said to them to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. And that's why we're global harvest, isn't it? Oh, yes. And then he now told them that whoever believes should be baptized. Okay, he says verse 16. Verse 16. And then it says, He who believes and is baptized will be saved, but he who does not believe will be condemned. And that says, And this sign shall follow those that believe in my name. They will cast out demons, they'll speak with new tongues. He says they will take up serpents and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them. They will lay hands on the sick and they will recover. Hallelujah! So Jesus gave them the mandate to go out, and he told them what will also happen to everyone that believes in his name. In other words, those of us who will believe in his name will also speak within tongues, we will cast out their votes, and that he said to every one of them. Can I get an amen? So Luke then helped us because you could go to Acts 1 and understand the story from there. But Luke chronicled the how Jesus actually told them that yes, I've given you the Great Commission, but before you go, tarry and wait for the promise of the Father so that the power can come upon you first before you go. You say, Why is that? Because the Great Commission is a supernatural assignment. Oh, yes. If you're gonna make disciples of all nations, if you're gonna preach this gospel in every place, then we need supernatural equipment. So he told them to wait. And and Acts 1 captured is his ascension. Again, it was Luke, the physician that wrote the book of Acts, and then he captured his ascension to heaven, and he said to them, He says, Wait, and you shall receive power after the Holy Ghost has come upon you, and then you'll be witnesses unto me in Jerusalem, in Judea, Samaria to the uttermost. So so the ability to be an effective witness is predicated on the power being released upon them. Can I get an amen? So then they understood, they have the assignment, they have the mandate, they know what they're supposed to do. It's like somebody uh uh winning a contract, okay, applying for a contract, and he will won a contract, uh say to supply um 1,000 uh pulpits across Calgary. Now he's won the contract, he knows the contract is, but the mobilization to do it, it needs to be funded to get it done. So Jesus says, I've given you the commission, I've given you the assignment, but wait for funding, wait for power before you go. So that's what took us to Acts chapter 2. When the day of Pentecost came, power was released. The Holy Ghost came upon them, and the power of God came upon them. Hallelujah! And from that point on, miracles began, testimonies began, all kinds of things began, so much so that the work of the Holy Spirit in the apostles were recorded as the acts of the apostles. Hallelujah! And what has happened every year after that is to commemorate that day. The Pentecost Sunday is came about to remind us of what happened that day, to to help us understand what happened that day. So today, all over the world, some churches and just the body of Christ generally took the time to appreciate what happened that day. And and in the next few minutes, I just want to bring home again to us what happened and put it this way the significance of the Pentecost Sunday to you and I. What is the significance of Pentecost to you and I? Are you ready for this? Number one, significance is that it means God is a promise keeper. God is a somebody said that I'm saying God is a promise keeper. Say it one more time. He did promise the nation a deliverer, and he sent Jesus to them. And then Jesus also says, I'm gonna send the Father's gonna send another comforter, another helper, and he told them to wait for the promise of the Father. Why what did he refer to as the promise? Because Joel had prophesied in Job chapter 2 that it shall come to pass in the last days, I will pour out of my spirit upon all flesh. There was a prophecy already, so Jesus told them wait for that promise because if God makes a promise, he will make it good. So when the day of Pentecost came, the promise was fulfilled. And then Peter helped the people understand what was happening because when the Pentecost hit, we just read it in Acts 2:1 to 4, the people were confused because, like, they were gathered from all the nations, and and Jewish proselytes, who was explaining that to us on Tuesday, these were non-Jews or Gentiles who converted to Judaism and were following in the God of Jacob to become to put themselves under the umbrella of the God of Israel. Okay, so these guys were gathered from every nation, and as the power hit, as they began to speak in tongues, the Bible says each person began to hear them in their own tongues. And it's like saying that the people from Ghana were there, people from Nigeria were there, people from Ethiopia were there, people from Malaysia were there, people from from from Finland were there, and from everywhere, and each person began to hear their own dialect and was like, what is going on here? Now, this is very funny because human beings have the knack of when they don't understand something, to just cook up any story. Now, think about it, because I'm about to say something to you. Imagine that all of a sudden, because all of us here, even if we're from the same country, but there's a unique dialect. Even in among Canadians, the the accent is a little different. It's just thicker, faster, slower in different places, and then maybe it's a bit more pronounced in a place like America, for example, because even the American accent varies from state to state. Even in the United Kingdom, oh yeah. I've been around there a little, Pastor Kenny or live there a little, and as you move from place to place, there's a little twist there, little thing there that you hear around. It's just interesting, and I think it's just God's way of adding variety after the town of Babel. Praise God. Are you still here? So all of a sudden they were hearing, and so imagine you started hearing people speak your language, and out of their confusion, what they are they came to a conclusion that these people must be drunk. Excuse me. Have you seen a drunk before? Church, talk to me. Have you seen a drunk before? Do drunks come up with exceptional intelligence? I don't think so. In fact, it's whatever is inside of them mixed with stupidity is what comes out. Talk to me. It's the same way explosions don't produce harmony and beauty and systems. That's why this world is not a result of a big bang. Yeah, it's the same way because it doesn't follow logic, it doesn't make sense. Okay, so in in their confusion, they came to the conclusion that you know what, we think these guys must be drunk because there's no other way to explain what the what's going on here. But they're not so in verse 14 of Acts chapter 2, the Bible told us that Peter got up in Acts chapter 2 and verse 14. But Peter standing up with the eleven raised his voice and said to them, Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you and heed my words. Everybody help me, verse 15. Want to go?

SPEAKER_04

For these are not drunk as of wolves.

SPEAKER_01

Since it's only the third hour. He says, guys, it's just 9 a.m. Then they can't be drunk at 9 a.m. Alright. It says it's just the third hour of the day. It says, verse 16, everybody want to go. But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel, and it shall come to pass in the last days. Says God, I will pour out my spirit on all flesh. Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall drink dreams. Verse 18, and on my main servant, and on my main servant, I will pour out my spirit in those days, and they shall prophesy. Hallelujah! Telling them this is a fulfilled prophecy right before your eyes today. And that's why I know every promise God has made to you will not fill. God is not a man that should lie, He will keep His promise. There will be a fulfillment in your life in the name of Jesus. You will see the goodness of the Lord on the days of your life. If you believe inshallah, amen. Somebody said, God is a promise keeper. Just remember that again and again and again, every promise you find it will not fill. No more of his words will go unfulfilled. Number two, significance of Pentecost to us is that the spirit is poured out. The spirit is poured out. Someone said the Holy Spirit is poured out. It says, and I will pour out. Hallelujah. It says, I will pour out of my spirit. God did a pouring. And from the day poured, he didn't take it back. Hallelujah. There is been a release. The Holy Ghost has been poured out. These are the days of the Holy Ghost. So you and I came into the poured spirit. We're not waiting for the spirit to be poured. He has been poured. Oh, you didn't hear what I just said? We're not waiting for God to release the spirit from heaven. The spirit has been what? Released. It's been released. It's been poured. Do you know what it means to pour something? Have you ever poured anything? Usually, in fact, the word pour almost seems it gets out of your control. It's because the moment you pour, the content gets out of your hands. Are you listening to this? The Holy Ghost has been. Everybody that gets saved gets saved into the poor of the Holy Ghost. Hallelujah. And it's upon all flesh. The Holy Ghost is here right now. Come in, God. So what you need to do is not point that the Lord will release the spirit. All you need to do now is to receive Him. Oh, yeah. The only thing left is to receive of the Spirit of God. So as Paul, as Peter began to explain to them, listen, this is an outpouring. This is what God did is what he said was going to do. I will pour out of my spirit. He's poured it out. Thank you, Jesus. He's poured it out now. It says, so what you guys need to do, look at it in verse 38 of same acts of the two. Remember, it told them this is a fulfilled prophecy, isn't it? And that what is going on right now is that there's an outpouring, that the spirit should be poured out. So what you need to do, he told them in verse 38, then Peter said to them, Do what? Repent and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Because all you need to do is what to do what? Receive it now. Because it's been poured. Verse 39, it says to them, verse 39, for the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord. That's how we came into the equation. Yeah, that's how we came into it. As many of us at the Lord as called, we are the ones it's called. Glory to God. That's why now we are few. As many of us that are few of the Holy Ghost, all you have to do was receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit because he has been given. Glory to God. So our part is to receive. So in Acts chapter 19, the Bible told us that Paul went to Ephesus, and as he was preaching, he saw this, he saw these guys, and he asked them from he says uh from verse 2, and then he said to the guys, he said, Okay, well let me take it from verse 1. And it happened while Apollos was at Corinth that Paul, having passed through the upper region, came to Ephesus, and finding, what did he find? Some disciples, he said to them, Did you notice that? Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believe? Because what you need to do now is to do what? Receive. So the moment you get saved, you receive the Holy Ghost. Hallelujah. You receive the Holy Ghost. Pastor Degma was asking me Tuesday evening that if we had converts that night, I'm gonna reach some of those baptism to them. I said, Yes, yes, it's straight. Once they are saved, I don't get filled with the Holy Ghost. Saved and filled. That's it. Save, receive the Holy Ghost and move on. Hallelujah. I said, Hallelujah. Because that's what we do, we receive the Holy Ghost, and these are the days of the Holy Spirit. It's been poured out now. Hallelujah. Thank you, Jesus. Somebody say, if you're filled with the Holy Ghost, say thank you, Lord, for the Holy Ghost. Number three. Remember number three? Number one, God has a promise keeper. Number two, the spirit has been poured out. These are the days of the Holy Spirit. Number three, it means you are powerful. Yeah, and back there again. It means you are now what? Powerful. You are now what? Powerful. He told them to wait for the promise of the Father so that they can be endued with power. Jesus says, when the promise of the Father comes, you will be endued with power. He pretty much repeated the same thing in 1 8 of Acts again, and you shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost has come upon you. So it means, and Rapha's telling us again on Tuesday, Acts 10 38, how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and the word power. Because when you have the Holy Ghost, he brings power. So it means everybody under the Son of my voice who is filled with the Holy Ghost is powerful. Remember how I said that I used to say you're not as powerless as you think. And the Lord said to me, if you tell the people they are not as powerless as they think, it means they're already powerless. It's not just to the degree that they think. And that the truth is they are more powerful than they think. It means there's a base-level power operational in your life. And it's more than you imagined. That everyone who is filled with the Holy Ghost is empowered now. Somebody say, I am empowered. It means now you have received funds to buy the furniture that you got the contract from. It means now you've been empowered to do the great commission. It means now there is grace on you to fulfill God's mandate for your life. For you to do what God wants you to do. And and let you see, we talk about the Holy Spirit within and the Holy Spirit upon. You see, when you give your life to Christ, the Holy Ghost, Jesus comes in you. The Holy Ghost is at work in you. He is the spirit of salvation, is the spirit of transformation. It's the Holy Ghost at work in you. No one can say Jesus is Lord except by the Spirit of the Lord. And it's the same Spirit that transforms us from glory to glory. It's the one that changes us, it's the one that helps us, it's the one that helps us understand scriptures. What I'm teaching this morning, the reason you can understand is because the Holy Ghost is at work in you. It's the one that removed the veil through Christ Jesus so that we can understand the word of God. And then it transforms. He transformed, he changes our form from glory to glory. We're in transition. That's why sometimes, guys, you know what? If there's something I didn't get right last year, it's okay. I'm still in transition. The Holy Ghost is still at work in me. Glory to God. It will move me to that dimension. If there's something I'm trusting God to do, and I've not been able to do yet, I still struggle with some anger. Every now and then, no worries, it's at work in me. Praise God. All I have to say is the Holy Ghost, just continue to help me. Praise God. I surrender to you and it keeps taking me, transiting me from glory to glory. Hallelujah. That requires that I surrender and allow him to carry me. That's why I carry me upon the wings of the spirit. As long as I allow him to take me on the journey, because when he shows me how to behave, I have to be willing to respond. But when he shows me how to do things differently, I have to be willing to respond to that. That's where my consecration is necessary. Yeah, that's where my submission is necessary. You see, that's where that's where my participation, because he can't do that without me. It's the degree to which I surrender to him that he helps me. Can I get an amen? So all of that is inside. But the one that he was talking about, the infilling is the one upon you. It's upon your life. And that's why he said, I will pour out of my spirit. It's a pouring so that it can be upon you. And then Jesus was telling them the same thing. Wait for the promise of the Father that you may be endued, that the power may come upon you. Glory to God. It's upon you for the assignment. It's upon you for ministry. It's upon you for purpose to do what He called you to do as a teacher, as a singer, as a discipler. It's an enablement to fulfill the great commission. Glory to God. I said, glory to God. It's an enablement an enablement. It is an enablement to do the work of the Lord. So now we are grace to do things that in our flesh we could not do. So you're more powerful than you think. I said you're more powerful than you. I said you're more powerful than you. Ephesians 1, Paul was praying for the church. And you know, we love, we love, we love Holy Spirit prayers and powerful prayers. And then from verse 15 of Ephesians 1, he said, therefore, I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of you. Are you still there? It says verse 18. The eyes of your understanding be enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints? Verse 19, everybody. And what is the exceeding greatness of his power toward us who believe according to the working of his mighty power, verse 20, which he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places. Verse 21 says, Far above all principality and power and might and dominion and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in that which is to come. Glory to God. I just feel like hold on there. Hallelujah. And he said that I'll be praying for you that you be few with the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him, that we may know him more and more and understand the hope of your calling. To with that which the Lord has called you to, and that which is ahead of us in the in the in eternity. Hallelujah. And what is the riches of inheritance in the sage? That look, you are God's biggest deal on this planet. We are God's inheritance. We and too many other things that Christ has put in us. Hallelujah. In our praying from verse 19, that that that we that the church, the efficient church, will understand the exceeding greatness of his power to work. Did you see two words? That is to that is at our disposal. That you will know it's like it's like somebody's about to go to school. And I'm telling you, my our I remember our youngest son was about to go to school, and we couldn't get his card out of the bank on time. So I gave him my card. I gave him one of my debit cards. And and and the boy was saying, every time he had that card, he just knew he had something. That's no problem, no checking. As long as Daddy's card was with him, he knew he was fine. So if he needed to buy anything, he was not even moved. He knew I have daddy's card. Hallelujah. Once I draw, he must draw. I came to tell you you have your father's card. You have the Holy Ghost.

SPEAKER_02

Once you need to draw, power must flow. I said, power must flow. You are more powerful than you think. Glory to God.

SPEAKER_01

Access. He says, I'm praying that you understand the greatness. The exceeding, you need to understand the Greek word exceeding greatness is um is like is like is like an overkill. Yeah, it's it's it's really trying to tell you you need Pascal. The voltage for electricity is you know two twenty and all that. He says it's like saying I have a thousand volts running. So what do you need? To draw. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. You know, the movie comes sometimes. The power of God is available in abundance. It's in a it's available in abundance. He said he had to, Paul is praying that the church will understand how powerful they are, that the church will know what Jesus did through the Holy Ghost baptism. That we will understand every time you speak in tongues, it's a reminder that there's current. Your tongues is you know, electricity vibrates, doesn't it? When you at certain current, electricity humms. You hear it as good as the high tension, it's telling you there's power in there. Your tongue is a reminder of grace upon your life, that there is power and work in you, that the Lord make a deposit that day. Church is supernatural. The church of Jesus is a supernatural enemy. We are a supernatural people, and the power of God is always on. Listen, if you're from part of Africa, you remember Oh God, oh God. Listen, trauma is a terrible thing. I remember the first time I ever, my first trip, my first trip out of Nigeria was to the United Kingdom. And I remember I got with some clothes and all that. My friend said we're gonna be going out the following day. So that evening, I'm like, I think I need to quickly get up and iron my clothes. This was maybe maybe 2001. Maybe I can't remember 2005 or 2005, something like that. And and that that I needed to handle my clothes. And then I remember and I told myself, no, I don't need to handle my clothes. There will be light. And sure enough, the only thing there was light.

SPEAKER_04

And there has been light.

SPEAKER_01

And and I'm also from that place. Well, let me tell you the other part. You see, because when they bring light, the the electronics come alive. If you have a radio, there's always on it to come alive. If you have a fridge, you will hear the sound. In fact, that's how we got to know that there's light because your freezer will come alive. And your fridge will come alive. And then and then sometimes because and we didn't know those things have uh uh um um transport that regulates stabilizer, stabilizer. So you're now I'm now in a place like Canada, and because the the temperature of the fridge has been maintained for a while, it switches up power for a bit, and then all of a sudden it kicks in again to maintain it's the way your heater works, you know, it works and then it drops and then it kicks in again. When I hear the sound of the freezer, come on, it reminds me they just brought light. You see, because that's the that's the trigger. Oh my goodness.

SPEAKER_02

I know Jeremy doesn't understand what I'm saying. Just try to pretend like you do.

SPEAKER_01

When the freezer kicks in, it's the sound that they just brought light. And then I don't tell myself, no, there's been light. I know you don't speak in tongues always, but there's been power all along. All alone, all alone, it's been there, it's been there. It's it's it's some of the experiences that have told you a lie. It's the some of the places you've been that have stored you alive that you're not powerful, it's some of the conditions we've been through have told us that the current is not always there. But let every man be a liar, let God be true. The day you were filled with the Holy Ghost, the power never left you. The power is at work in you, the power is at work in your life, and so I came to tell you there is current at work. Don't worry, the bullets will be fine. You can even take it out. Take it, take it outside. I'll just let you know. You need to understand that the power is there, is always there. There's unbroken fellowship in the kingdom. Listen, I was I was meditating, I was meditating again on Matthew 28. And do you know what Jesus said to them? He says, as they go to make disciples of all missions, he says, and lo, I am with you always and always. Always, always, until the end, always always with you. Lift your hands and thank you for a minute. Always with you, and with you always, I will never leave you, nor forsake you. With you always, always always always always always is there, consistent God, always, dependable God, always, reliable God, always, always there, always at work in us, changing us, transforming us. That is who he is. That is who he is, that is who he is, always, always at work, thanking, because he's at work in you, is the one that was in putting women to do is always doing something, he's always changing you, and grace is upon God, always, always, always, always, always, always, always, always, always, always, always thank you, Jesus.

SPEAKER_02

Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus.

unknown

Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you.

SPEAKER_03

Thank you.

SPEAKER_02

In Jesus' name of Christ. Say Heavenly Father, I thank you.

SPEAKER_01

Because you're always with me. I am always anointed. Because Christ is in me. I am always anointed. Because I am in Christ, I am always anointed. Listen, God has anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and power. And you are in him. You cannot be inside the Holy Ghost and power and not have the Holy Ghost. You are in him. Even if you don't believe you are anointed, at least you believe just the anointed. Are you in him? You're always in power. Always in power. So as we go through our daily life, use it, exercise it, do some of it. Now, let me let me let me let me let me put this one too. I want to round up on this, you know, and this one. The apostles were going about that day, they saw a man laying proteins at his feet, Acts chapter 3. And the Bible says they told the man to get up and in the name of Jesus, the man. And the miracle broke out so much that the elders and the people were angry, and then they arrested them and threatened the trees, and then they fell in love. And they told threatened not to eat anybody. And the pastor went back to the whole company, they last and they reported the screen. And then they prayed. We know we have enough resource to deal with it. So Holy Ghost just give us money. We're just asking for more. He said, We know there is no situation that's beyond God. And I'm telling you, as you go through your life, there is no situation that's beyond God. You just need to ask for more release of God. He says the biggest of the power that's available. Just ask for more. And the Bible says they asked a lot for more. And the place where they were gathered was shaken. And then they were filled again with God. See, that's why you can wake up tomorrow and suddenly goes, fill me again. And then you get filled again and again and again and again and again and again. And again. And again. Because there's more than enough resources in heaven for you.

SPEAKER_00
