Alright, let's turn to Luke chapter 19. That's where we have our theme from. I'm going to read from the New King James Version. Go back to the King James and then just try to say a few things. Praise God. Luke chapter 19. We're just going to do two verses. I'll work with the entire text, the entire text from verse 1 to the end. But I just want us to read two verses in that text. And then we're going to look at chapter 2 and verse 49. Can you all hear me very well? Okay. If you're there, say amen. If you're not there, yeah, that's Pastor Femi's line. I still use it. Amen. Okay, we'll wait for you for two seconds, but I imagine we're all there. Here begins the reading of God's word. Now, as they heard these things, he spoke another parable because he was near Jerusalem, and because they thought the kingdom of God would appear immediately. Therefore, he said, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and to return. Verse 13 called ten of his servants and delivered to them ten miners and said to them, Do business till I come. The King James Version says, Occupy till I come. Now let's look at Luke chapter two, verse forty-nine. And he said to them, this is Jesus now speaking. Did you not know that I must be about my father's business? So I'm speaking this morning on Occupy on a semicolon about the father's business. Occupy and semicolon about the father's business. Now, generally speaking, the the Bible is a documented revelation of Jesus Christ, right? Um, in a more general sense, it contains the revelation of the nature of God, who God is, and you can also find in that revelation an understanding of God's plan. That's what you find. That's like a general idea of what the scriptures present to us. And when you come more specifically, you also understand that in Luke chapter 24, verse 27, Jesus was speaking to a couple of his disciples who were on their journey on their way to Emmaus. And the Bible says, beginning with Moses, when the Bible says beginning with Moses, it's talking about beginning from Genesis because the first five books of the Bible were written by Moses. So when it says beginning with Moses, it goes all the way back to Genesis. And the scripture says beginning with Moses, he expounded to them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself. So the scriptures from Genesis to Revelation are about Jesus. Can I hear an amen? Now, of all the books in the Bible, the four gospels are more pointed, they are more specific. They narrow down to the works and the words of Jesus. When you read um Acts of the Apostles, chapter 1, verse 1, the author of that book is Luke, the author of the book we're texting considering right now. He opens the book in chapter 1 by saying, The former treatise, almost Theophilus, have written to you concerning the things that Jesus began to do, works, and to teach words. Now he's there referring to the book of Luke because it says the former treatise. So the book of Acts of the Apostles is a sequel to the book of Luke, because the reader and the reception, the one who's receiving the book, is the same person. It's Theophilos. Are you following this? And he says that former book was about the works and the words of Jesus. So that the gospels narrow down more to the works and the words of Jesus. The four gospels. Four meaning, the number four is number four universal, it's complete. When you read Ephesians chapter three, the Bible talks about the height, the depth, the width, and the length. All right. In measurements, that's a more complete thing. You can have three, it gives you balance, but four is a more complete thing. Are you following me this morning? Stay with me, okay. The four gospels present the universal face of Jesus. Now, if you read, I'm not gonna go there. Ezekiel and Revelations, the Bible talks about living creatures. Thank you. Oh my god, thank you. We can go there, okay? And the four four faces are what lion, bless your heart, bless your heart, ox, and the man. Brilliant. So you got four faces, and in in Ezekiel chapter one, the Bible says these four faces are the glory of God, is the image of the glory of God. Now, the glory of God is the image of God, is the person of God, the power of God, the resources of God. Are you following what I'm saying? So those four faces are typified in the four gospels. So the four gospels explore each of those things: Matthew, the lion, the kingship of Jesus, Mark, the face of the ox, the servanthood of Jesus. John, who speaks of the divinity of Jesus, is the eagle dimension because the eagle souls in the air. And watch this, Luke is the humanity of Jesus. So the Gospel of Luke explores the theme of the humanity of Jesus. That's why in Luke chapter 3, they establish the genealogy of Jesus all the way back to Adam. That's just a hint of it. There's so much there. It goes all the way back and establishes that say with me, Jesus. Come on, say with me, Jesus was 100% God and 100% man. Yeah, yeah. When he said, when the Bible says they were crossing over to the other side and he fell asleep. Friends, he fell asleep. He fell asleep. He fell. Man was exhausted. Yeah, yeah, he was exhausted. In John chapter 4, the scripture says the disciples went out to shop. When to check, maybe it's important to grab him a drink or some milk. The Bible says he was tired and he was thirsty. Are you here? Yes, sir. The Bible is journey, Matthew 24. He was exceedingly sorrowful. Then he said, Say it out. If it say it out, not what, not my will, but you can see two wills in that statement: my will, your will. He was as much man as you are, and as much God as God is, and that's the only way he can relate with us, and that's why he was tempted at all points without sin. And that's why he's a high priest that understands what you're feeling because he went through the same thing. Jesus was 100% man, 100% God. But in the picture of Jesus, we see a seamless symbiotic relationship between heaven and earth, between God and man. We see, thank you very much. Thank you. And there was one here. We see that seamless symbiotic relationship. Do you understand what I'm saying? Seamless because there was a perfect flow. You didn't have any disparity. Even when he said, Not my will, but your will, he eventually said, Nevertheless, so his life was devoted to the will of God. I'm going somewhere with this because Pastor Femi touched on it yesterday, and I want to show I just want to highlight it and move into what I want to talk about. When you see in Jesus that seamless, symbiotic relationship between God and man, you also see a portrait of God's ideal man. What God wants in a human being, what God wants in a person. That's why Genesis 126 says, Let us make man in our own image and after our likeness, because God wants the same seamless, symbiotic relationship between man. Watch this. God's preferred partnership is with man. Can God do without man? Yes, but he will rather not do without man. God prefers to work with, in, and through man. So turn to the neighborhood, you're very relevant, very significant in the plan of God. Come on, preach with me in the plan of God, both as a beneficiary and a benefactor. You are the subject of his passion and his desire. What is man that your mind is full of him, and a son of man that you what so as an individual, you're a beneficiary of God's plan and God's blessings, and God's goodness, and God's greatness. But guess what? It doesn't stop at that. You're also a benefactor. That means God also wants to work through you. Does this sound fallacious? Tell them God needs you. Do you believe? Are you learning something? Now in Luke chapter 19, verse 11, the scripture says, Now, as they heard these things, another version says, While he was speaking, now, the moment that is introduced, PT, into that, you understand there is a connection between the first 10 verses and this last thing. In other words, what he's about to say is connected to what he has said. While they heard these things, now the chances are he's still in the same space, and where was this? The house of Zacchaeus. The Bible says he added another parable. The King James Version says he added and spake, and speak the parable. Now forget it. There's nothing more holy about KJV, it's just Elizabethan English. Okay, so and spoke another parable. Are you following this? So there's a connection, man of God, between what he's about to say and what he has said. Why is this important? Because the parable of the ten meaners that has occupied till I come is set within the context of a parable. Are you here? And this parable is connected to something that had come before. The next thing the Bible says is because he was near Jerusalem, and because they thought the kingdom of God would appear immediately. In this verse, again, you see the divinity of Jesus. Because now he's about to say something in response to their thoughts. Were you around yesterday? Yeah, Matthew 11, 23. The Bible says, Come unto me, all you who are weary and are heavy laden, and I'll give you rest. And I feel that's a word for you in this season that the Lord will give you rest in certain things, and God spoke. Um Naomi Naomi said to Ruth, sit down, don't worry. The uh Boaz will not will not rest until the matter is sorted. And I feel the Lord will say to you, chill out, he's got it under control. Does it make any sense to you? All right, praise God. He said, Because they thought that means he was responding to their thought. Are you here? Now, no, the two things they thought the major thing they thought was the kingdom was about to appear. Now, there's also a connection. The Bible says he was about to get to Jerusalem. Now, there's nothing about the scripture that is just happenstance. Listen, listen, listen, God is not bored, He can never be bored. So He doesn't just look like oh, I feel like talking. Let me just talk to someone. Do you understand what I'm saying? Some of us we get bored, then we go on our status and look for who is available to chat with. God, that's not God, amen. Are you following what I'm saying? God is comfortable with his own silence. The Bible says there was silence in heaven. You know, some of us can't deal with silence, it's called awkward silence. How many of you know what I'm talking about? You ever been on the board like a group meeting, and then you ask a question, everybody's talking, and then you're confused, like, what's it? And then you you are forced to talk. No, I'm learning to embrace that silence. We'll all be here until somebody talks. Do you understand? When my kids are like, Oh, that I'm bored, there's nothing wrong with being born. It will help you be creative, enjoy the boredom. It doesn't come all the time, so maximize the boredom. Amen. Just kidding, right? So here's the point they said he was about to get to Jerusalem, and then they thought the kingdom would appear immediately. Now, there's a problem here between human expectations and divine intentions. There's a problem here, and I'm going to tell you what the problem is because in their mind they were expecting the kingdom. Now, listen, when the Jews tell you they're expecting the kingdom, Pastor Sam, you know that it's not the kingdom that God intended. No, no, no, sir. The kingdom they were expecting was return to self-rule, an ejection of the Roman government, and a restoration of their own sovereignty. Are you seeing this? And when he said, In the house of Zacchaeus, after he had ministered to Zacchaeus, he said to Zacchaeus, now salvation has come into this house. You're like, Yeah, it makes sense. And he's going to Jerusalem, the capital of the nation. This guy is going to declare his government. Because when you hear the word salvation, you think being delivered from sin and sickness. No, sir. It's a stronger word. The word is deliverance. So it only fed into their wishful imagination. Now, this is it. We're about to be delivered from the Roman government. So, in their mind, the kingdom was going to appear now, he was going to declare a rule, and they were excited. And he said, No, guys, not up, you're missing it. But we're not saying the same thing, and you know that that's always a problem. There's always a problem between our expectations and God's intentions, and that's why we'll always have some frustrations. I want to say to us as a house that one of the things that God does or allows to happen is that when you have an expectation that is contrary to his intention, you will hit certain bricks, you will hit certain stops, you will have certain delays, sometimes some denials. Really, it's a redirection. Does it make sense to anybody? Anna in first Samuel had been going to Shiloh every year, grandma. Every year. One year she said, you know what, God? Let's trade. Do business till I come. You get it. Let's trade. If you would give me a son, I'll give him back to you. Redirection. Her desire now came in alignment with God's desire. And bam, the baby came. Are you here today? But that was not the only baby she had. She will have more. Matthew chapter 6. Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be. Yeah, that's it. It's about alignment. And I want to say to us Global Harvest Church that God is aligning us to divine purpose. He is working in us to align our desires with his desires. You know, when they were expecting the kingdom to manifest, they were thinking outward circumstances. And many of us, our lives has been about just our you know, the improvement of our outward realities, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that, it's just that turn to your neighbor. Say your life is bigger than what you will eat. Where what you drive, where you live, amen. Yeah, so there's something much more about you. Look at them in the eyes if they allow you. Ask their permission to look at them in the eye and say there's something much more bigger about your life. So, can I ask you a question? Ask them. Can I ask you a question? Will you continue to seek your own way or his way? So, apparently, the delay in the pregnancy for Anna was that God needed a prophet in town. Do you understand? Now, PF Elizabeth. Sorry, anyone who's Elizabeth here, Elizabeth, Liz, Auntie Liz. Better. I like to find short words in the Bible, but Auntie Liz will stay that way until Mary will be ready because there's a connection between Auntie Liz, Uncle Zach, and Jesus. Do you understand what I'm saying? No, it wasn't like they were praying, they were fasting, they were serving, they were just timing. Somebody say time in hallelujah. Your season is here in Jesus' name. Hallelujah. Are you here this morning? They were looking for outward changes, but the kingdom was more than that. Let's go on now. This is where it gets very, very interesting. The word occupy is a business word. He says business. God expects increase. God designed us for increase. He blessed them and said, Be fruitful and multiply. Isaiah chapter 51, verse 2. Pf look to Abraham your father and to Sarah who bore you. For I've called him alone and blessed him and increased him. He doesn't just call us, he blesses and what increases. Acts chapter 2, verse 47. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being Save addition, multiplication, increase, all of the variables God expects. Are you here? God expects us to increase, to grow, to bring gain. But you cannot interpret the scripture in isolation. You have to interpret scriptures within the broader context of the Bible. Are you with me this morning? Are you following me so far? Yeah. So in Luke 9 25, the Bible says, For what profit, look at the word profit, for what profit is it to a man if he does what gains the world and himself is destroyed. So if you just do simple economic math, he's saying, if what you consider as profit is the world, but then in the course of pursuing the world, your expenditure is your soul, or it costs you your soul, it's not actually profit, it's lost. Are you getting this? Because when you do the calculation, I mean, I'm not so much of a business person, my wife is, but if you spent a thousand dollars in something, and then you get a return of a thousand and one dollars, right? What your profit margin will be is what now it becomes worse if it's the exact one thousand you make, or you even make less. That is loss, it's not deficit. He's the banker, he knows it's you know, it's not deficit. Are you here now? Watch this in the eyes of the kingdom, true prophet is in a soul that is won more than a world that is gained. In Deuteronomy chapter 13, verse 5. Deuteronomy 13, 5, Pastor Sam. God is speaking and he's talking to the people. Can you give me Deuteronomy 13 verse 5 quickly? I want to show you something here. Look at this. But that prophet or that dreamer shall be put to death because he has spoken. Go to the next verse. I'm looking for something here. Go to the next verse. Good, thank you. Look at it, Pastor 7. Let's watch this together. If your brother, somebody say, brother, the son of your mother, your son, the daughter, the wife of your bosom, or your friend who is as your own soul, secretly entices you say, Let us go and serve other gods which you have not known, neither you nor your fathers. So he he compares these two levels of relationship, family and friends, to your soul. He says, As your own soul. Remember, Jonathan loved David as his own soul. So when you see soul in the scriptures, first off think of the individual person, but also understand that it also refers to a circle of relationship. So if you gain the world and you lose your circle of relationship, you have not gained, it's a loss. You drive the best cars, you live in the big house, nice, you wear the best clothes, nice, but your circle of relationship is not in Christ, you are not successful. In the kingdom, true success is measured by the value of the souls that you attract in and influence in. That's how we measure value and success. Now, let me help someone here. You think of yourself and think, I don't have this amount on my check-in, or I don't have this in my savings, I don't have this investment, I don't have this on mortgage. But you have been faithful, and both of you should hear this. You have been faithful in helping people, in stewarding the goodness of God to lives and in serving people and in being a blessing to people. Let me tell you, in the eyes of God, you're very wealthy. Because a man's life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses. Now we need those things, but we don't measure our lives by those things. How will they measure a wealthy person? Measure a wealthy person by his asset, fixed or liquid, true or true, but in the kingdom, that's not how it's mentioned, it's not measured like that. How then is a person's life measured? It's not by what you have, it's by what you give. And when I talk about giving, please stop thinking money. Money is the least thing that you have to give your gift, your graces, your skill, your time. Are you following what I'm saying here? You know what it is for somebody to want to need a shoulder to cry on, and you are there. Look, look, my brother, money had no value in the wilderness, they had it. PF, they had it. They cashed back on 450 years of slavery. Huh? It had no value, it couldn't do anything, there were no supermarkets, no, he couldn't do nothing. God fed them, God, God protected them, God shielded them. There are spaces that people get to in life. Money has no value. It's not going to do anything. You understand what I'm saying, man? When when when when people need certain dimensions of healings, money loses its potency. In that moment, you need the power of God that heals. That word healing is is resonating with you. I don't know why, but I feel that it's a healing somewhere in you or your space. I don't know what it is. So I didn't use that example out of abstract, I knew where I was going because that word healing had been in my head anytime I'm looking at you, and I the Lord will perfect all that concerns you, and wherever healing is needed for you, someone related to you, connected to you, it will be complete in the name of Jesus. So, are you following what I'm saying? So, when we're talking about profit, we're not talking about cash, and he says, Do business till I come. Now, what was he saying? What happened here again? In the verses before, something had just happened. He had just met with a guy called Zacchaeus, one of my favorite characters in the Bible. He's become one of my favorite. That text has one of my favorite ones. I have a couple of them. So let me make a joke here. If I'm maybe teaching in a meeting or something, or I'm about to do a training online, the prophetic training, my wife will say, Do not go to John 4. She says that woman is tired of you by now. I'm like, Why? She's like, Why must she always ban? Leave this woman alone to rest wherever she is. So I've left that. I'm working with Zacchaeus now. She doesn't know Zach yet. When she finds out, we pick it up from there. When he said, Be now the word occupied really means it means to be busy. Yeah, yeah, it means to do business, it means work. So when we say occupy, hear me, Global Harvest Church, it means to be occupied with the father's business. You know how Jesus was occupied with the father's business. Acts of the apostles, chapter 10, verse 38. How God anointed Jesus Christ of Nazareth, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed of the devil, for God was with him. So he was busy about the father's work. That's what we find in Luke chapter 2, verse 9. That's the same word. The Bible says, I must be about my father's business. So when he's when we talk about being occupied, we're talking about being occupied with the father's business. Now, what had happened in Luke chapter 9, verse 10, the Bible says the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost. God sought the lost through Jesus, he is still seeking the lost today. Only he wants to do it with you.

SPEAKER_01

I'm sorry.

SPEAKER_02

Do you understand this? No. Just like I need to do get it right, speak right, act right, live right, and just so that I can just make it by the hair of my skin and get into heaven. Honey, that's not why you're saved.

SPEAKER_03

You have been saved so that now God can save us.

SPEAKER_02

Problems, all kinds of problems. Are you here? People who have all the money in the world, but they're dealing with issues that money can solve. That's where you come in. This is what God wants us to be occupied with, and God is saying to us as a church, it's time to kick up our game with respect to the father's business. What had just happened in the house of Zacchaeus? This is where it's interesting, Pastor Solu. Zacchaeus, and this is where I want to talk about the tools for the trade. Okay, Zacchaeus already had a desire to see Jesus, was a bad guy. Bad guy. I mean, it was so bad that when they saw Jesus going to his house, it was breaking story, it was breaking news. Like, oh no, no, no, no, that was that guy. It was known as a sinner. Like, what this guy is the holy preacher. What's he going to do in the house of that guy? That was the tall guy. He was considered a sinner because he was doing some kind of job at taxing people and making ripping people off. I mean, if you ripped them, the first thing he said was, if the people are taking much money from them, I'm gonna return fourfold. This guy had ripped tenfold. I'm just saying, no, it's not in the Bible, I'm just saying because he's a smart dude, he can't be giving fourfold and be up lost. I'm just saying, it's not in the Bible. Okay, now I mean that's the first God Jesus comes into his life, and the first thing he's repenting of. Come on now. This guy is a reaper, man. He's he's just reaping people's money off, okay. Bad guy, real bad guy, but a bad guy desired to see Jesus. You know the old saying, don't ever judge a book by its cover. Just because you look at a person the way they are, you are all you really don't understand the internal wranglings and the internal debates going on in them. Zacchaeus wanted to see Jesus so bad, his height was a disadvantage, and he went on a tree. He was down to earth. You get it next week, and then he had to go on a tree. Jesus is walking by of all the people. This guy has a number of people beside him. There are a lot of people who with him, but he's not. He he gets to a spot, and he looks up and says, Zacchaeus, calm down. Found you today. You've been reaping everybody, you're about to be ripped yourself. Come down. Today is your day, man. Listen, I am not sure he expected that Jesus will find him. I'm not sure he was expecting that encounter. The only thing he wanted to do was to see Jesus. That's all. Are you following what I'm saying? Because God will always match your level of desire. There were others there, Jesus didn't go into their house. Remember the woman who had the issue of blood for years? The Bible says she touched Jesus and he was healed. She was healed. Now he was on the way to somebody's house. Somebody needed him to visit, but she didn't need him to visit. She just said, if I could touch the hem of his garment, what would happen? And she did that and she was healed because her desire was that strong. Now Jesus says, Come down. Now, can I tell you something in that moment? What do you think was happening in that moment? That was a supernatural experience. There's no one gave Jesus an itinerary to say, Hey, on our way, Jay. I'm sorry, let me use the word Jesus says. Nobody did that. Now nobody will even do that for the guy. He's a bad guy. He's not the guy there. If he makes a request, can I see the Lord? Like, no, you can't see the Lord, not you. You're a sinner. You can't see. Get out of the way. You can't see the Lord. So he couldn't even tell anybody about it. Do you understand what I'm saying? So Jesus picked him out by the prophetic gift of word of knowledge. That's what happened there. If you just picked him out alone, he said, Zacchaeus, come down. And today we'll go into your house. God has called us to be occupied with the kingdom. Because there are people who He is already working in their heart and staring in them the desire to see Jesus. But who will be the connecting point between him and those people? Are you willing for God to interrupt your itinerary? Are you willing for God to prompt you to say, I know you're on your way to this, but turn, look at this. This person is dealing with a situation, and I want to help. You're on your way in the office to grab your coffee. It's coffee break. And that's all you want to do. Just grab your coffee, sit in the kitchen, drink your coffee, eat your meal, and go. And while you're there, God is prompting your heart towards your calling and say, Go talk to her. Listen to her. There's something going on there, and I want to deal with it. Like, no, God, I need to take my coffee, eat my food, and get back to work. No, she's not even going to like it. You never know that intervention could be the difference between life and death for that person. I saw a video online last week of a girl of a lady who was about to unalive herself on a particular day. That was the day she decided I'm ending it all. And then a guy went there to do an outreach. I'm leaving this world. The spot where she sat to offer that prayer was the same spot that a guy came in the next day for an outreach and spoke with her. And that was the day the guy took her in because she was strong on drugs and all kinds of stuff. They took her in, you know, admitted her for rehabilitation. When I saw the video where she was talking about it, and I looked at the video now and I looked at who she was before, I could not compare. Drastic change. Rehabilitation gone on Jesus is coming to the heart. Are you following what I'm saying here? And I want to ask you a question. Will you be that person that God can interrupt your plans to save a soul? Are you here this morning? And so that's why He has given us the gifts of the Spirit. That's why He has given us the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the one who can help you because there are hearts and their lives that God is working on and is stirring them. There are people who are already seeking to know the truth, seeking to know God. Listen, listen. I put a statement now. If you want to write this, write this down. I don't want you to lose this. Jesus went about stewarding salvation in places and spaces. You know what our responsibility is? God wants you to be occupied by taking him to places and spaces for people. Whatever space that you exist in today, whatever space it is, you're not in that space for yourself. The things that God has put in you, it is so that you can be a channel to be a blessing to people. How then do you measure progress in that place, my sister? It's by the amount of impact, the measure of impact you make in that space. I'll tell you another story. A guy had been skipped for promotion, was a renowned preacher, gave this testimony. I'm about to be done. And this guy had been skipped for promotion about several times. Other guys are coming in. Real story. And so he he was speaking with the pastor and said, Look, I've been skipped over for promotion again and again and again. Young guys are coming and they're going past me. And then the man said to him, No, I don't think it's a case of your competence. No, he said, I think it's a case of there's something God needs you to do in that organization that you're not doing. It's like what he said, just go talk to God about. Shortly after, one of his colleagues had a sick mom, an alien mom who was about passing, and he found out and he decided to go visit with her in the hospital, and we just go visit with them and talk to the woman and pray with her in the last days and prayed with her and talked to her about Jesus, and our heart opened up for Jesus and prayed. And after a while, the woman passed on. The guy whose mother had passed on, you know, became receptive to Jesus and turned around and became more devoted to Jesus. And this man did that and went about his life, and then shortly after he was summoned in the office by his boss. I said, What happened? How have we missed you on promotion? Four times. In instantly, all of those four seasons of his promotion, he got everything back in that moment. Real story, because the issue was not him being incompetent, it was that there was a certain work that God needed him to do there that he was not doing. What are you doing with what you have with who you are? Are you following me this morning? Can we stand to our feet if we can? Profit and success in the kingdom is how many people you attract into this kingdom, the influence that God has given you. What are you going to do with it? Whatever this message has meant to you, just put out your hands to God and lift up your hands and just talk to God.
