Episode 004:Dominican Dream: WBC Hopes And Mets Moves
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
A global tournament, a clubhouse coro, and a roster on the brink—that’s the energy we bring as the World Baseball Classic lights up the spring. We kick off with the DR’s electric chemistry and why those back-to-back-to-back exhibition blasts felt like a mission statement. Japan’s early stumble adds intrigue, the United States lineup looks terrifying, and we sketch the real path to a title: leverage the bullpen, win two high-variance at-bats, and ride the team vibe that carries through tense innings. We also give some love to the Netherlands as this year’s stylish wild card and admit we’re obsessed with that crown cap.
Back in Port St. Lucie, Mets camp is a chessboard. Carson Benge keeps nudging his way into the picture with timely power. Brett Baty’s flexibility could force a rethink at third and DH, while Mark Vientos and Jorge Polanco battle not just each other, but the fit of gloves and roles. Ronnie Mauricio brings relief at short as an emergency option. In the outfield, Tyrone Taylor’s defense and bounce-back case look real, with Mike Tauchman poised as steady depth. We also sit with the emotions of change: Pete Alonso’s swing now points at the Baltimore skyline, and Starling Marte gets the runway he deserves. Different jerseys, same respect.
Culture threads the hour. We nominate a walk-up song for Carson—Joe Jackson’s I’m the Man—because a newcomer sometimes needs a riff that says I belong. Our Dominican word of the week, coro, captures the sound of tournaments like the WBC: a chorus of fans, a rush of rhythm, a team moving as one. And when the ninth inning turns to late-night, we trade notes on movies: Whiplash’s relentless tempo, the handcrafted wonder of The Grand Budapest Hotel, the cosmic hush of 2001: A Space Odyssey, and a luminous Elvis concert film that reframes the Vegas years with grace and grit.
Ride with us through early brackets and spring dilemmas, share your underdog pick for the WBC, and tell us who wins the Mets’ final roster spots. If you’re feeling the vibe, tap follow, hit subscribe, and leave a quick review so more baseball fans find the coro.
Let's go, Mets!

Welcome, Vibes, And Housekeeping
SPEAKER_04Welcome once again to Bad Boys Mets Club. I am Giovanni Blanco.
SPEAKER_00And I'm Franklin Blanco.
SPEAKER_04And we are here to celebrate all things Mets, the world of baseball, cultural and current events, and possibly some music and movie stuff. Because we love both. How you feeling today, man?
SPEAKER_00I'm pretty okay. I funny enough, I was sick for a calendar week between this episode and last episode. Clear all that time, but I'm I'm feeling better.
SPEAKER_04Just for the record, the cure for um the flu would be Sad Boy in the Mets Club. So just make sure you tune in. You do the things, you follow, you uh what is it?
SPEAKER_00Smash that uh smash that like button.
SPEAKER_04Ring the bell, ring the bell, hit that subscribe and share with everybody you know. Share. Uh we're gonna kick things off with what's happening right now.
WBC Kicks Off And Early Matchups
SPEAKER_04World Baseball Classic. It's uh we're in gear. Tonight it begins, right? Tonight is the official first one. Yes.
SPEAKER_00Tonight when this airs, it'll be the night before too, but Chinese Taipei versus Australia. So that's an interesting one. They're both kind of wild card teams. Uh but I'm excited.
SPEAKER_04I am too. I'm just curious more than anything.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00It's it's exciting. I And they're where are they playing? In Japan? Um, I'm sure I think they are. I think they might be the Japanese pool, yeah. Yeah. Um. Yeah, they would be. Because I don't know where. I know where three of the pools are. I don't remember where the oh, I guess then the fourth one. Yeah, no, they are Japan. Because the fourth one would be in like Puerto Rico or Cuba.
SPEAKER_04We will see. We should we we will find out for you for sure.
SPEAKER_00We just haven't been paying attention to those pools. Uh we got one thing in mind. There's one big one.
Dominican Team Camaraderie And Exhibition Notes
SPEAKER_04We're excited about the Dominican team, obviously. Um uh and uh the first game to see them uh uh was yesterday. The Tigers. The Tigers, the Tigers.
SPEAKER_00Um today and yesterday too, which was interesting. I think we were the only uh team to repeat. All the other all the other teams kind of went against two different teams in exhibition. We just went Tigers twice.
SPEAKER_04And one twice.
SPEAKER_00One and tied.
SPEAKER_04Oh, one and tied. One and tied.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, because they got different rules for yeah, it was uh I I really liked that first game too, though, because like that was we went back to back to back.
SPEAKER_04It was uh um not the Dominican word of the week, but a Dominican word pela. It was a whooping, it was a beating. Uh but it was great to see all these people um, you know, swing.
SPEAKER_01Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_00And it's it's also great because like there's always an aspect of working together as a team. Yeah. And it's nice because you see that and they're like, they're already clicking, they're already vibing. Like there's something like Brazil isn't gonna have any of that, because Brazil is like a 40-year-old man from Argentina and like a 17-year-old from Wyoming on the same team. It's like it's they're just they picked whoever they could find. Um, and so it's nice because it's like I think the team is vibing, they're swinging well.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, there was a cool video that popped up that uh uh in the locker room after the game, and you could totally see the camaraderie, and oh, they uh celebrated one player in particular. Um I can't remember who it was, but uh, but it was cool to see uh how tight the team is already.
SPEAKER_00I mean, and our and our guy Austin Wells, he's he's loving it. He's because he's not really like all everybody on the team is like all-star level, and then Austin Wells is like a little bit below that, so he's just kinda he's there and he's awestruck. He's just like, this is awesome. Those they're so good in the game.
Ticket Plea For Venezuela vs DR In Miami
SPEAKER_04Oh, by the way, uh, this is the time of the show where where we uh throw in our request um for possible um hookup for Wednesday, but Wednesday night uh Venezuela plays Dominican uh Republic in Miami, and we don't have tickets, so we're throwing it out into the universe, and uh and we'll make a special plea at the end of the show as well. Um, because we can't really parachute in as we said last week. But we'll try to find a rooftop somewhere. I mean we could, but then we'd be staying in Miami for four to six
Mets Crush Israel And Spring Highlights
SPEAKER_04years.
SPEAKER_00Uh so first of all, today it was really awesome because we got to see the Mets play against Israel and crush them. You gotta love it. Because it was like it was all of our minor league guys, and they still like they still did great. Five and two. You love to see it.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Yeah, that was that was interesting. That was definitely interesting. What's what's the highlight of the game?
SPEAKER_00Uh uh for me it was Benj hit a home run, like really early on, and that was kind of like the the only action of the game for the longest bit. And uh, I think it was Peterson had a scoreless outing.
SPEAKER_04How many innings did he pitch?
SPEAKER_00Uh I think like three and a half, maybe. Oh, good clear. He pitched like a solid chunk, and then like we had another guy, uh I don't remember who also pitched like two and a half innings that were like scoreless. So it was it was just a really solid game on top of uh on top of the win over Israel.
Scouting Japan And USA As Main Threats
SPEAKER_00Um other than that, I want to talk about our two biggest competitors, Japan and USA.
SPEAKER_04Okay, so World Baseball Classic Talk. What are we getting to? So the basically we do believe that the Dominican Republic is going to win, but our difficult games were gonna be with USA and with Japan.
SPEAKER_00Japan, yeah. But it was already optimistic because Japan, I believe, might have played the first game at all, uh, out of like exhibition games, uh, and they played a team back in Japan, I think, and they lost. The Japan team, the big like the big team lost, it might not even been Japan, it might have just been like just a team. Yeah. Um, and Japan lost them, and that's like really promising because if we even won a championship appearance, we have to beat Japan. Because that's what it's going to be. It's gonna be Japan versus the Dominican Republic, and that's really awesome to see. That's like that gives us confidence because we have yet to lose. The US, I don't think, is gonna lose it all because they're playing the Rockies, so that's um But like of the sample sizes we're seeing, that is really positive to hear. Um US, on the other hand, is not positive to hear about because they do have uh they did go 15 and 1 against the Giants, which is crazy. Uh but I guess it is like an insane team. Um, and the Giants made like a couple of errors.
SPEAKER_04So it's kinda Can you give me some of the names on the US team?
SPEAKER_00Uh Aaron Judge, Bobby Witt Jr., Cal Raleigh, uh. I'm already running out. I don't I just know it's like a lot of I know uh Corbin Carroll was on the team and then he got the same injury that Lindor did. Okay. I don't really care about the US team. I I mean pitchers, obviously. Uh pitchers, uh, Paul Skeens. Terek Skubel, I think, is only playing really exciting here, he's only playing like one game against like a really insignificant team. So the fact that they like they have
US Roster Talk And Pitching Speculation
SPEAKER_00Terek Scuble in one game in the pool, like beginning round, like that's great for us. Because it was that was the thing you come back. Yeah, you look at and you're like, oh my god, they have Boloskeins and Terek Scoobyl on the same team. Not really. Also, this might segue into another topic. But our guy, Nolan McLean, he's set to pitch for uh USA, but his visit got delayed. His trip because he was pitching and he got some vertigo, and he was like, I don't know if I should pitch. Like, I'm feeling a little weird. He stayed back, pitched in like a simulation game. He's feeling fine, he's feeling good. He's gonna go. Don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure he's set to be the starter of the championship game for USA. Okay, which is insane. Yeah. He's that's like that's insane. Um, and because they they are gonna make it. There's no world where they don't make it to the championship. So it's like that's just great to see. I'm excited.
SPEAKER_04I'm excited too. I mean, it's like, you know, he did uh he did pretty much support the Mets in the last month.
SPEAKER_00He was like the only uh pitching to look forward to. It's just I mean, it's just like because that's that's just how the cards fall, where it's like it's pitching rotations, they need their rest. Um it's just funny that that's how the cards fell. Um I'm excited. I I think he's also pitching one other game for them. Uh against maybe Italy, I think. But
Wild Cards: Cuba’s Slide And Netherlands Hype
SPEAKER_00I'm I'm pretty excited about that. And I'm excited that he's not feeling uh the vertigo anymore, because I was really worrying. Uh um yeah, I think I think we have a solid shot. That's awesome. That's awesome. I have one other thing to add. I haven't looked at the score right now yet, but last I checked, Cuba is down 19 to 3 to the Cincinnati Reds. It might be worse.
SPEAKER_04This is this is a perfect lead in to what I wanted to say about the world baseball classic, because um, I had Cuba as one of my runner-up teams. And uh I'm sticking to it. I'm sticking to it because I think weirder things have happened.
SPEAKER_00But it's the minor leagues Reds team.
SPEAKER_04It's like not even look, they're just getting all the yayas out. They're just getting ready. They're getting ready, y'all. Like I said, it's just really my like third, fourth pick. Um what what uh in a Twilight Zone situation in an alternate universe in Bizarro Land, um, which team would win the world baseball classic outside of of uh you know Dominican Republic, Japan and USA. Um like you know, what team has like a freak chance?
SPEAKER_00Well, in my in my heart, I'd love to say Netherlands, but um which they played great. Yeah, the Netherlands played great yesterday, so or like Czechia. Yeah, I'd love Czechia to win. Um no.
SPEAKER_04I was I was gonna go Netherlands myself. I was just like, cause that game I saw like a highlight from that game yesterday.
SPEAKER_00They have a bunch of major league players.
SPEAKER_04We were joking about them before, but like it's just like one actual player and then a bunch of uh Yeah, but they've got I think they actually do have I think Czechia's the one worse off.
SPEAKER_00I think they've got like solid guys. And they played, they played pretty good.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I I could definitely see that happening. Um I mean
Fashion Break: Netherlands Crown Cap
SPEAKER_00if we're being realistic, I know it's like Italy, Mexico also has a shot. Um there's one of the it's like Venezuela or Colombia. Yeah. I was gonna say Nicaragua, but it's not Nick. They're playing Marc Vientos, it's not Nicaragua. Um We like Mark Vientos. I love Marc Vientos, he's not it's not looking good if your tame if your team is playing him like uh solidly.
SPEAKER_02Oh sorry Mark.
unknownSorry.
SPEAKER_00But uh yeah, it would probably be that I guess Yeah, I don't think I don't think there's like there's some potential for a team like uh Korea, one of those teams, could like I sh I don't think they have it. Australia. Australia's a fun wild card because they have major league players and they've shown that they can do good and they can also do really bad. So like in a world where every team did really in a world where all the good teams did their floor and Australia did their ceiling, it would be like a little bit above their floor, and they might be able to eek it out.
SPEAKER_04So I'm sticking with Netherlands. I think Netherlands is gonna be a surprise.
SPEAKER_00It's gonna be like a top five team.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I feel like they're gonna They're gonna smoke their way through.
SPEAKER_00I mean they have they have the branding
Frankie’s Wish: Extend Freddie Peralta
SPEAKER_00for it, because that's like they have the best branding by far. What's the branding? Well, all the other teams have like the letters because their logo has like the letter of the country. They didn't even bother. It's just a crown. I need to show you. Their hats are the best hats by far. Oh, what colors? Black and orange.
SPEAKER_04Really? And a crown? Mm-hmm. I'm not very close hats.
SPEAKER_00I might too. It's like really it's really solid. Look at that. Ooh, I do like that.
SPEAKER_04I do like that.
SPEAKER_00That is that is a juicy hat.
SPEAKER_04That's our fashion segment for the week. Netherlands hat.
SPEAKER_01Get that hat.
SPEAKER_04A plus. I do like this jersey award too, man. The the it's like I said it was a giveaway.
SPEAKER_00Yes, it was uh it was like a mid-season promotional like ticket giveaway. And then I saw it on like the Mets Instagram account. I was like, I need that, and it took me like half a year. Uh but then I finally like with the trip coming up, I'm like, now is the perfect time to get it. Yeah, I because it wasn't even that much because it was just eBay, yeah, eBay, and then all of the things on eBay were also in my size, so I didn't even have to, but I love it.
SPEAKER_02Perfect, perfect.
SPEAKER_00I'll be I'm I'll be wearing it to the games every day.
SPEAKER_04Every week we've done uh Frankie's Wishes for the week.
SPEAKER_00And Frankie's Wish this week is I want us to sign an extension with Freddie Peralta because there was positive talk early on, and now it's dwindling down to like we're gonna see how it goes. And I think the trade that we did to get Freddie Peralta is it was a great trade, but it's only a great trade if we sign the extension. Um and he wants the extension, that's the problem, and it's the it's the Mets problem that we've been having, where it's like he wants to retire here, he doesn't want to move
Citi Field Invite And Beat The Dodgers
SPEAKER_00anymore. Uh and the Mets hate long contracts, except for 15 minutes.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, except for that except for the Bobby Bonilla contract that's still open. Oh I'm kidding. Not kidding.
SPEAKER_00We should just get him to come out and play.
SPEAKER_04I mean, that's a thing to ponder. I mean, why isn't Bobby Bonilla kind of coming around and like I don't know.
SPEAKER_01What is it?
SPEAKER_04Clean in the locker room or something? Like he's gotta earn that money. Um, but uh Freddie Peralta, what what what's what's really like what's left for him as far as years and and you know, and what is he asking for? What is he wishing for?
SPEAKER_00I don't think I honestly don't think he's wishing for that much. Like, I think we would give him a sizable contract.
SPEAKER_04You gave him is it a three-year contract or two-year contract?
SPEAKER_00I don't know how long we want to give him.
SPEAKER_04No, but like he's or is it just one year?
SPEAKER_00He's here for this year. Oh, really?
SPEAKER_04That's crazy.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's why I'm like, we should say that.
SPEAKER_04No, they should definitely sign him. I mean, it's like that it would be their loss.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we traded like two of the top 100 prospects.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, no, what I mean, here's a
Braves Troubles: Injuries And Suspensions
SPEAKER_04scenario that that if Freddie Peralta does 75% of what he's capable of, he's gonna get offered a crap load of money from any other team. And then we'll lose him.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, he's uh he's 20.
SPEAKER_04And right when it's kind of crazy because when we're looking at him as our top ace, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_00It's like to be fair, Nolan McLean is starting for USA in the championship.
SPEAKER_04And Freddie Peralta's starting for Dominican Republic.
SPEAKER_00I don't think he that's the saddest thing, too. We would be such a better team. He's not playing. He's not? No. Which is okay, here's the thing it's better for us as Mets fans, worse for us as Dominicans. It's like that's the trade-off. And I think I'll take that because we still have a great uh great team.
SPEAKER_04No, no, no. But again, here's that was Frankie's wish. Freddie Peralta extension. Uh, please, please, please.
SPEAKER_00He's 29.
SPEAKER_04He's like he's got a good five years left.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. If we if we sign him for it. I would be crazy if we didn't get an extension. We have the money. We have the money.
SPEAKER_04Plus, it's like, you know. They already paid for this year. Yeah. So it's about the following years, right? I always add a wish onto your wish. And um my wish still remains. Uh we would like to go see the Mets play in New York. So, Mets, please invite us to City Field. We want a tour.
SPEAKER_00It could be on it could be on like a bad game to two. Invite us when the Rockies are playing. Nobody's showing up for that.
SPEAKER_04We will fly out there. Just let us in and hook it up and make it happen. Uh, that would be great. Uh, but uh seriously, just it's kind of a selfish request that when you come to town, come to LA, just beat the Dodgers if you can.
SPEAKER_00Bring the heat.
SPEAKER_04Just save all, you know, like you know, lose a couple gays games
Mets Position Battles: Infield And Outfield
SPEAKER_04before that and lose a couple after, but sweep them if you can.
SPEAKER_00I mean, to be fair though, they have brought the heat in the past. Like, when we when they came here last season, season the Dodgers won, I think we I think we overall beat them in our series. So, like, at least they they played, they played with some fire a little bit.
SPEAKER_04Well, let's make it happen. Let's make it happen.
SPEAKER_01Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_04What is next, my friend? I'm I'm guessing you want to talk about the Braves.
SPEAKER_01Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_04There's some crazy stuff happening in Atlanta right now.
SPEAKER_00I mean, it's just so funny because I've seen I watch like a lot of baseball YouTube of people like ranking how the teams are gonna look going into 2026. And they all like rated the Braves really high with the caveat, they're gonna be so good, they're just such a glass cannon team. And they were. It's just so unfortunate that it went like that. Like, that's everybody was like, Yeah, this team's gonna be great as long as nobody gets injured.
SPEAKER_04So break it down, what's happened?
SPEAKER_00Two big things. I don't know the details, but their pitching rotation was like an all-star pitching rotation that got destroyed by injuries, like it's completely fallen apart. Their pitching is not looking great. That was one of the reasons that they were kind of like banking on this is gonna be a great team, because of the pitching. The other thing is Jerkson Profar got suspended for a whole season because he got back-to-back substance. Like that's that's crazy too. Cause like once it's twice, you can be like, okay. It wasn't an accident. They weren't like he's he was using no one slipped me a Mickey. There were no worms, no worm medication. No. That's the funniest one. That's like um, so they like they like just signed a contract with him too, and he was out for half of that contract because he got caught using That's right, last year. It's like It's so unfortunate.
SPEAKER_04And now it seems it's weird though. It seems like there's uh he It feels like this is not
Talkman vs Taylor And Depth Chart Jokes
SPEAKER_04something I've heard, I haven't heard before.
SPEAKER_00You know, and uh normally you get caught and you're like, yeah, that wasn't worth it, because he's also losing all of that salary. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. They take it away.
SPEAKER_01Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_04Damn. Well, I'm I don't have a problem with that since the Braves are kind of uh another rival team for us.
SPEAKER_00They're third on the list, I would say. Because it's like Phillies. Phillies, Yankees, Braves, yeah. I consider them rivals.
SPEAKER_04We're better. I just I consider them uh annoying neighbors beneath us.
SPEAKER_00Little brother team.
SPEAKER_03Ha ha ha. I was gonna say older brother.
SPEAKER_04They got they have they have uh curmudgeon older brother energy.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and they're past their prime.
SPEAKER_04Ooh, we're just we're just talking shit about the Yankees.
SPEAKER_00I mean, it's a fair thing to say. They have like the best hitter in this whole league, and they have, and they are an abysmal team. Like they show up every year, they show up to the postseason and they like collapse. I mean Sounds familiar. Um Well, I here's what I'll say. Here's what I'll say. I think in 2024, Mets were second place because the Mets would have crushed the Yankees if they made it to the World Series. Like, that is that was the most pathetic World Series I've ever seen. Like, I I don't I don't wonder why the Dodgers won. But that's all. That's my hate on the Yankees. It's it's sad.
SPEAKER_04So we covered your wish for Freddie Peralta. We covered the Braves.
SPEAKER_00I do still want to talk about the Mets. Like we're figuring stuff out. Outfield, first base. That's kind of where stuff is happening. Um I think Oh yeah. Are we sorry? We're good. I think Ronnie Mauricio has kind of cemented himself as a solid backup
Farewells: Alonso And Marte Futures
SPEAKER_00shortstop option. Like, I think that was in question, and I think we're now, I think we're at the point where it's like we're comfortable, like, yeah, he can play. Yeah. He can play that spot. That's fine.
SPEAKER_04I believe in you, Ronnie. I got all my money on you, Ronnie. You gotta make the team, Ronnie. At least as a utility player.
SPEAKER_00He's gonna make one plate appearance. Just that's all we need.
SPEAKER_04Uh we want you to earn that zero.
SPEAKER_00Um but uh right now the things in question are kind of first base and the outfield. Because first base, we have Jorge Blanco, yeah, but he's kind of like a first base DH.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And then we have Mark Vientos and we have Brett Beatty. And we know who's the better player.
SPEAKER_03First base?
SPEAKER_00First base, Beatty's also potential first base. Beatty's has potential in right field, third, first base, third base, shortstop, second base, he could be catcher, uh, DH. He's like, he's all over.
SPEAKER_04And he could be a relief pitcher.
SPEAKER_00He could. I think he would be better than Luis Terenz. That was the worst game. I watched I watched the Mets ground out of their season, and the worst game I watched was when I had to watch Luis Turren's pitch. That was like there were so many other guys I feel like we could.
SPEAKER_04We wish you the best, Luis. We wish you the best. We want we want
Walk-Up Music: Picking Carson’s Song
SPEAKER_04all the players to do well. We really do.
SPEAKER_00I mean, he's a great catcher. Just don't just don't bring him out to pitch. That's all I want. Because it's like it was it was a blowout game. I get that. You don't need to make it last 30 minutes longer. And in the end we did! Yeah. We had to bring out a pitcher in the end. But um Brett Beatty wouldn't do that. Um right now it's looking it's looking weird. Because I know we would prefer Beatty third, Bachet, DH. And then but that puts Polanco in a weird spot. Because here's the thing. I think Vientos is better defensively. Because Polanko still doesn't know his position well. I mean, yeah. He's still figuring it out. I think that's my one worry is that we're getting into the season and he hasn't gotten like spring training time.
SPEAKER_04No, no, no, no, that's for sure.
SPEAKER_00I mean, and I don't know how we're feeling, but but still, it's like I feel like he's I'm more worried about him than Bo. Because I think Bo Bo's been kind of Bo Bo's been pretty solid and he's
Dominican Word: Coro Explained
SPEAKER_00kinda like his his money is on the line because if he doesn't have a position, he's not getting a better deal on the free market. Like he's he if he goes in as a DH, he'll get good money, but he'll have to stay on in the deal because it'll be better for him. Yeah. But the outfield is really interesting. Because I kinda I thought Mike Talkman might be like on on the roster, but looking, if you look at like the projected stuff, Tyrone Taylor is out there, and I love him. That's the other thing. Tyron Taylor's done so good.
SPEAKER_04He's kicking asses from training.
SPEAKER_00And and uh it's just kind of like he just had a down season, and he was still great defensively, and he was still okay offensively. He just had a down season. This is gonna be his
Players Of The Week: Carson And Jeffrey Yan
SPEAKER_00year.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I mean I I think if if the season had to start, you know, a week from now, Tyrone might just be um, you know, at least the the first backup, at least.
SPEAKER_00I think I think the thing in a platoon is Platoon Carson? Yeah, I think he might be a platoon there. Uh oh, another thing. Rober is getting some simulation game playing time, which is great. He's gonna start like actually being on the field, which is something you love to see, because he's been doing great in uh batting practice. Stats have been awesome. I just want to see him actually play. Um but yeah, right now, and I feel so much more confident. My statement, MJ Melendez is not getting anywhere near that roster. He's he's out of there. I think I think if any of them are making it, it's Mike Talkman. But I want I'm honestly happy. I heard Whitecastle is hiring. Dude, send him there. No, no offense. He's already got his contract. He's got his contract. Melendez is gonna be okay. He's I mean, here's what I will say he's gonna tear up uh triple A.
SPEAKER_04That's tear up triple A and also end up with like the Royals or something. Like Mike. I mean, that's what that's where he was. I mean, that's what I'm saying. Like they say they'll they'll you know they'll see, they'll see like, hey, he wasn't that bad.
SPEAKER_00But I mean, he'll he'll be solid when our three other outfield backups for that position fall out. Then we can bring him up.
SPEAKER_04So we're looking at uh platoon Carson with uh um Talkman. Oh no, Tyron Taylor, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Tyron Taylor's not got anything. I keep thinking.
SPEAKER_04Talkman right now is the first backup.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, Talkman's like right there when we need him.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Soto gets tired. Here you go, Talkman.
SPEAKER_00Get in there. Soto's playing all of our games. We spend that much on him, he's not leaving the field. He's not going home on the weekend, he's gonna stay there and play.
SPEAKER_04We're gonna we're gonna make Talkman stand behind him. He'll do like a weekend at Bernie's kind of thing with Talkman on the field.
SPEAKER_00Oh my
Movie Corner: Whiplash To 2001
SPEAKER_00god, we should do that. Just tie him together, let him do all the defense. Oh my god. I think that would be better for the team overall. Just put him in like a hat, really thick sunglasses.
SPEAKER_04If we could do that, we would have kept Pete Alonso.
SPEAKER_01Oh, Pete.
SPEAKER_04Pete is gonna be like the home run leader this year. In Baltimore? He almost was. I mean he's gonna be.
SPEAKER_00He almost was he was playing at City Field. Yeah, he's gonna.
SPEAKER_04In Baltimore, he's gonna kill it. He is going to kill it.
SPEAKER_00Um I'm excited. I'm excited to watch him kill it. Yeah. Has he played yet? Uh spring training, yeah. He like it was like first day of spring training. He hit like a home run first at bat. He was like, he was doing that. Yeah, he's it's sad to see. But I'm happy for him. I'm happy he's still I hope I hope he gets he's good at getting like a vendetta and proving himself. Like that's that's what he did this year.
SPEAKER_04He deserves like to have like an MVP-ish year where people are kind of, you know, we appreciated him, but he uh Yeah, we're all sad still. We're all sad. I mean, it's sad to see Marte go this last week, too.
SPEAKER_00I was sad about that too.
SPEAKER_04I I mean actually, you know, the good thing is that I feel like he's actually going to a team where he's going to He's gonna play. He's gonna play and he's actually gonna be like one of their better players.
SPEAKER_00He wasn't gonna get it. The Royals aren't like the worst team on baseball, but they uh But I feel like they're they have very good and then they have very bad. Like they have one of the best players in the game, and then they probably have like at least a handful of the worst. So I feel like you're right. Like Marte's gonna Marte's gonna be solidly upper tier in that.
SPEAKER_04I feel like where he uh was lacking here in New York, um, he's gonna be able to kind of pick that up. Like he's gonna get more hits, better batting average, more on base percentage, and stuff like that. But again, wish you the best, you know, um, and uh looking forward to any Met Royal game so you guys you and Soto can reunite. My endless love.
SPEAKER_00Dude, I'm just I'm sad that uh Marta isn't like uh an infield player because I love those are my favorite interactions when uh when a guy's on bass and they're just they're just hanging out, they're just chilling. Talking. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Um yeah, um since I was just singing, we might as well just jump into uh walk up. Walk-up music for the week. Um and have we decided on a player?
SPEAKER_00I think we're going bench because you said you said you got some stuff.
SPEAKER_04I got like I got and I had stuff maybe for other people too. But let's go with Carson Ben since his week. That's it. It's his week. He's he's kind of a debut. He's done okay. He's hit.
SPEAKER_00I mean he had he had that great game, and he's been doing pretty solid of this.
SPEAKER_04Um but he is the the he's the new guy.
SPEAKER_00He's the new guy who is gonna make the team.
SPEAKER_04And basically there's no we don't have any sort of previous walk-up music to compare to. We do.
SPEAKER_00Oh, we do, what's uh at Oklahoma. At Oklahoma State he had I'm so happy. This is such a research, crazy person. Uh he had it was a Jay-Z and Beyonce song. I gotta pull this up now. I'm getting cooked. Jay-Z Beyoncé. Run this town!
SPEAKER_04Run this town, nice.
SPEAKER_00Oh not Beyonce, Rihanna.
SPEAKER_04Leave it out, leave it out, leave it out, because I I don't have my phone. I wanna to uh go on Spotify and and pick my song. Um what's your song? Since your song is gonna be um is a little less serious.
SPEAKER_00Um Carson Bench.
SPEAKER_04He's uh stepping up to the plate, he's gonna be possibly batter number nine.
SPEAKER_00He's gonna be our our new Brandon Nemo. Um and because of that, I think we keep the good vibes rolling. He's our new sweet child of God.
Elvis In Concert And Final Sign-Off
SPEAKER_00I mean, he's just another country boy. No, that is a joke. It is a joke. I don't know, I don't know any country songs. I can't think of anything for him.
SPEAKER_04My song, my song is actually uh new wave kind of rock song from the early uh late 70s by Joe Jackson um called I'm the Man. Um I would love to hear you know, the players are just using mainly hip hop songs, but I think because nuking in town by the Eagles is a little too mellow.
SPEAKER_00That would that would have been my first choice. I think I think he does need like something where he comes up to bed and he's like because he's kinda he is the new guy, he needs to prove himself. I do like that, honestly. It's a it's a funny one, but I like it. Get him pumped up.
SPEAKER_04So the Dominican word I didn't know that was a Dominican word. Yes, it is not the Dominican word of the week is um Coro. Koro C-O-R-O. Koro. Koro Koro.
SPEAKER_00Coro. I can't do the artist, that's the problem.
SPEAKER_04Coro! Coro se coro. So basically Koro means uh like a party, like a gathering, like a like a like a jubilee, like a hootinanny, like just getting together and making noise. It's un coro. Coro. Uh it's like taken from the word chorus. But just uh like everyone kind of singing together, you know. Um and uh you hear that a lot when people go to baseball games, you know, like almost uncoro, like because it's like it'll be a group of people just kind of together, and you he you hear that, especially with the Dominican games, and you see that. You saw that in that clip that we saw from the from the locker room, how they just kind of everyone just kind of like pounced on the guy, we're just like that's kind of like but Koro is the word C-O-R-O. Um, and uh I want to see you use it in a sentence.
SPEAKER_00An English sentence.
SPEAKER_04I won't put the pressure on Frank. Alright. Um should we talk about the player of the week?
SPEAKER_00I would say so.
SPEAKER_04It's an easy one, right?
SPEAKER_00I mean, there's an easy one, there's a fun one for me. There's a fun, obscure one.
SPEAKER_04Okay, let's do both. Let's do both. I think that um we might agree on the on the easy one.
SPEAKER_00Easy one.
SPEAKER_04Um, and that would be Carson Bench.
SPEAKER_00Because he's he's been tearing it up.
SPEAKER_04I mean, I think he's been doing okay, but I think that that the thing is, I mean he's been doing good, but But we we needed him to do okay. We just needed to see him like in the environment because we definitely feel like he's someone who's just going to like explode.
SPEAKER_00I mean he's still so young, too. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. He's he's at the age, he's doing good enough to where at least I think that he should be on the roster, and he's young enough that there's an argument like it's going too fast, we should sort of make it because I think he covered like everything last year. Yeah. I think he he like did it all, and that's kind of why why we're even bringing him up, because he's just he's moving so fast.
SPEAKER_04He's ready, he's ready and he's doing it, and uh I think that um that potential platooning situation with Tyrone Taylor. Um like that. It's it if Tyrone keeps up, you know, I mean it would be Carson's position to fight.
SPEAKER_00Tyrone Taylor MVP. This is here. 50-50 season from Tyrone Taylor.
SPEAKER_04I wish I I wish it. I wish it. Let's let's let's throw it out there. I wish it, I wish it. But uh, um, you know, it's reality. Um but as long as he keeps doing what he's doing, he'll be fine. I just I want Carson uh to get acclimated and and be be the best he can be. And he will be. So this is it was just a good display of what the potential is and his comfort. I mean, he's just like a natural, so it's gonna be good. It's gonna be good. Um player of the week, Carson Bench. Who's the odd pick?
SPEAKER_00I need to make sure I have his name right. I think uh spell a little weird. It's it's Jeffrey without one of the F's. Jeffrey Yan, so you can tell me how to say that Dominican-wise. You gotta watch this clip though.
SPEAKER_02Oh Jeffrey Yan.
SPEAKER_00Jeffrey. Jeffrey Marca! Jeffrey! He does he does a silly little celebration, and it's it's why I love him. Uh after this. It's a gif. Look at him do his little pitch. He does a strike, he just jump, hits the ground, and then gets up, does a little move. And he does that every time. And I only found out about him because of I saw somebody else talking about the Dominican winner league. Yeah. Um, and I think he was on I think he might have been on the winning team that then went on to the Caribbean season. Yeah, yeah. Uh Caribbean League. Uh and I saw somebody talking about that, and I was like, oh my god, this guy's so cool, and he's Dominican. And I found out a couple days ago, he's on the Mets. And he was in spring training for the Mets, and I didn't know that at all. He's just like So wait, so he's on our team? He's yes, he's I he's like minor league level, but he's like so fun. And he pitched in spring training like a few days ago. I love that guy. He he did okay. Um he's not insane. There's no reason to I mean he did. I think he did do the thing, because like that's his thing. I love any pitcher that has like a weird celebration. That's like that makes it. If you're if you're not doing something weird, or like they or like the weird ritual guys. Yeah, that's that's the fun of it. But I like that guy.
SPEAKER_02Like the guy from uh the movie Major League. This with this the saint and the burning and the Sunteria.
SPEAKER_00I don't even remember if he ever learned how to hit baseballs, but something happened. I think he did good. I remember there was this whole thing, and I feel like I don't remember a resolution to his problem. Everybody else was like, he needs glasses, he needs this. And I was like, Yeah, we'll figure it out. Uh baseball movies.
SPEAKER_04We should we should actually bring that up next week. Like, talk about one baseball movie and like try to watch it and love that baseball movie.
SPEAKER_00I feel like it's hard to beat that one. Yeah, it is, yeah, it is.
SPEAKER_04I agree. Let's talk movies. Now, um besides movies, I we can talk music too. Has there been any uh new music that kind of uh has rocked your world?
SPEAKER_00I've been slacking because uh I've been sick, and when I'm sick my head hurts. I can't listen with headphones. So I I've been slacking on the music front, but there is a new Bruno Mars album that I need to listen to.
SPEAKER_04Okay, I've I feel like we'll be talking about the Bruno Mars album. I saw it, it popped up next week.
SPEAKER_00I mean we're gonna be traveling, so it's the perfect time.
SPEAKER_04Perfect time, so we'll give that a listen.
SPEAKER_00I'm excited. I'm excited about that one.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, it never disappoints. Um let's talk about movies then. Um, how are you doing on your movie a day?
SPEAKER_00I'm doing great, except it was a bit of a struggle, sick. I did miss one day uh last Wednesday. Real shame. Um but other than that, as much as it has been, I've I'm sleeping most of the week.
SPEAKER_04That's good. Gotta get rest when you when you're sick. But I've been told.
SPEAKER_00I've uh I've decided to turn over New Leaf and try to only watch good movies because I have a bad habit of if I see a movie, I add it to my watch list. And then so I have like 900 movies in my watch list. And then if I'm having a bad day, I just sort by like lowest rated so I can watch a movie, but it's not a very good movie. Cause I just I need to have a movie out there, but I don't want to like ruin a movie with my bad day. Or considerate a view. Yeah, because that's like a movie.
SPEAKER_04And you actually like give a bad movie a view. Well, I mean that's that's actually that's a considerate. I mean it's like saying, you know, um yeah, I mean I I I guess I'm lucky. Usually I don't uh it's I I guess that's not true. That happened to me this week, where I just kind of had like a weird feeling and I brought it into the movie and it affected my my movie watching things.
SPEAKER_00I'm I'm a very biased movie watcher.
SPEAKER_04I can usually I tend to like lay like I I block it out. I mean I just like a I go in with a clean slate. Like at the at the door, as I'm sitting down, I'm just like, okay, this is what this is the only thing that is important right now, this movie. And uh I kind of I erase any preconceived notions about it and whatever. That's why I never have a problem reading reviews or or like people say, like, oh, you know, the biggest problem. They gave away the ending or whatever. I'm just like, when I sit down, I'm not gonna be there's I'm not gonna be looking for anything except for what's happening in the moment. And I'm not gonna try to guess. I'm not gonna try to figure things out before they're not, you know, I try to kind of whatever. I'm not saying I'm better than you.
SPEAKER_00I mean, I think it sounds like a movie going experience. Sounds like you are. I watch a movie, I rate it, and then I look at the reviews and I change my rating. I I I peer pressure, I force myself into peer pressure. I didn't need to look at the reviews.
SPEAKER_04I didn't know I I rarely look at a review, but the thing is sometimes a review will influence me in to watch a movie. Um or it's a movie I want to see and I just want to hear something about it. Um, but uh but it doesn't, it won't it won't affect me. I can I can turn that off. And uh if anything, I go in there kind of with a different feel. But what were the other I mean, were there any good movies this week?
SPEAKER_00Well that's honestly one of the things I realized because it was kind of this week that I started trying to watch good movies. Um and I did realize something where even if you're having a bad day, a truly great movie will work around that. And so I think my problem is sometimes I'll go into like and watch I'll watch like a a mid movie and I'll rate it bad because I was having a bad day and I it didn't I wasn't invested. Um But I watched Whiplash for the first time. That was a five-star movie. I love that.
SPEAKER_04You gotta watch a short too if you can't.
SPEAKER_00I I will. I'm just like that's it that's crazy that uh Damien Chiselle went back-to-back bangers, and I haven't heard anything about any of the other ones. But like I like this last one. I like Babylon. Babylon, I didn't hear anything about it.
SPEAKER_04Oh, but that's because I was too youthful. Yeah, yeah. I mean it's it's messy, but um, I it's almost the point of it that it's just kind of like because it's about you know uh early early uh film industry and the excesses and the sort of uh craziness of it. But it was it had so many cool moments in it, and um although it does have Margot Robbie, I know you have a thing.
SPEAKER_00That's the other thing, and like but she's really good in it.
SPEAKER_04She is really good in it. It's actually one of my favorite things she's done.
SPEAKER_00Um that's that's one of the things that ruins a movie for me. If there's an actor I don't like, I like like for example, La La Land. I love that movie. It's a perfect movie, except for the casting of Emma Stone. I hate Emma Stone. Oh wow, it is a perfect movie except for her. And these shows I don't even think the movie works if it's not her. And so that's the problem. It's like in a weird, it's in a weird space. So it's like I I think.
SPEAKER_04So um it fit. Yeah, that's a great that was a great movie. It's it's I mean, you know, it's insanely good.
SPEAKER_00But I think I like it.
SPEAKER_04Where else can I can you learn about jazz? Whiplash. Whiplash is a better uh jazz or jazz musician intro. Yeah. Um what else?
SPEAKER_00Uh Grand Budapest. I watched Grand Budapest and the Oh the Grand Budapest Hotel. I've I've seen it before, but I saw it with you on an airplane.
SPEAKER_04That's right. And so And then when I when I saw it then, it was my second or third time.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so you'd already seen it. I like so I enjoyed it, but I was kind of out of it. And I watched it again and I was like, yeah, no, okay, because like you see it, people are talking about like Wes Anderson, these are like the best of his stuff, and it's like I always see that at the top of my mind, like, it was okay. It is, it is one of the best.
SPEAKER_04I think it's one of his best movies. I just I love and it's one of those things where they always say that that like artifice over like style over content or style over subject matter or style over you know whatever. And it's one of those m one of his movies where I feel like all the details fit perfectly. You know, like it's it's not the the the the cleanest of his movies story-wise, because there's a lot going on. But I mean, and that's not a bad thing, it's not a not a dig, it's just it's um, it's like a little bit more uh convoluted uh than in other movies of his. But the visuals for me and all the details of set design, the the whole thing with the the the can the chocolate, the little industries with the. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That like the packaging and all the stuff. I love that. I love the I think it was his best prop movie. I'll tell you what. Yeah, some guy like that.
SPEAKER_00He is he has never done as we like that was those are great props.
SPEAKER_04But uh, but also to see some of these actors, to see like Ray Fines be that character. He was so good in that. I love the guy who played the lead.
SPEAKER_00Uh Zero. Uh he was he's I I love him because I knew him from Spider-Man. That's right. Because he was Flash Thompson. He's yeah, he's not a friend.
SPEAKER_04The friend of me.
SPEAKER_00Um I I loved him. I loved him for that.
SPEAKER_04Everyone was so cool. I loved Harve Kaitel. He was like the the old criminal in the in the cell, the jail cell, like the super ball dude in the center, you know, and he was just like so like perfect. And even even Willem Dafoe.
SPEAKER_00I Willem Defoe, that's I think that might be the best kind of role for Willem Dafoe. Like I think Willem Dafoe's at his peak when he's just like a little evil guy.
SPEAKER_04It's just like a little Nosferatu all the way. Green Goblin. Green Goblin, Green Goblin. I always go. The first time I ever saw him was a movie called Streets of Fire, which I'm gonna make you watch. Those were good picks. I mean, you can you can say more, I'm sure you have.
SPEAKER_00I've got two quick more shadows.
SPEAKER_04Go for it, go for it.
SPEAKER_002001 Space Odyssey. Kind of bland story-wise, but one of the best movies to look at. Oh my god. Especially for the time it came out.
SPEAKER_04Like it's next time it plays in the theater, I will take you.
SPEAKER_00It is it's a theater movie. It's like the kind of you just it's an experience. You can't look away.
SPEAKER_04It's an experience, yeah.
SPEAKER_00I have a bad habit of the experience.
SPEAKER_04This is what I'm saying last week about the you know, with the phrase watching paint dry. You know, and sometimes it's like, and they just refer to that as like nothing, like it's so slow that nothing happens. But with that movie, it's it's like you know, you're watching paint dry, but it's the most beautiful colors.
SPEAKER_00It's insane. It's such a good that that was just like great to look at.
SPEAKER_04That changed cinema. That movie changed cinema.
SPEAKER_00It's just it's also crazy how old it is.
SPEAKER_04Like it looks that good and it's crazy how old no no and it's like that movie basically defined what space looks like in movies. You know what I mean? Like since then, it's like every movie is like that's what space looks like.
SPEAKER_00No, I will say 20 minutes of monkeys I didn't find necessary because I was really too much punch. Punch. If it was punch, I would have watched an hour of that. No, it's just like they the fact it's the fact that the now you get the Barbie reference. Exactly, that's the other thing. I didn't know that that was a Barbie thing. Isn't that perfect? I also found out I was comparing it, I was like, I didn't know I was watching Planet of the Apes, and I looked, they just came out the same year. Yes. Planet of the Apes. That was like, what a crazy year for movies. Exactly. That's like that was the monkey crazen cover. You haven't seen Planet of the Apes. No, I need to do the whole thing because there's like so many movies. It's it's gonna be a it's gonna be a long sit-down for that one, so I kinda I've been preparing myself mentally. And the other one, which I just I want to give it its credit for what it is, it's not a good movie, but how to lose a t a guy in ten days, I watched it because I needed something cheesy and something like schlocky.
SPEAKER_04Is that uh Matt McConahan and Katie Hudson? Katie Hudson?
SPEAKER_00I believe so, and it's just like it's not good, but it has something that a lot of modern road rom-coms don't have, which is they just had the chemistry.
SPEAKER_04I was somewhere at like a store or something or airport, and that came on, like that started playing, and I watched the first 10 minutes of it, and I was watching it strictly because it was you know airport noise or whatever for what it was, and uh it made me want to watch the movie. So, so um that's all I can say for it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's it's not it's not anywhere near the level of the other three movies I listed, but it's like a for what it is, it was just nice to see like there was a time where yeah, like that is the standard of like you're getting a pretty crappy movie, but it's like yeah, I won't I wouldn't even call it crappy because it's like I would just say it's it's it's a it's a romantic comedy, and um, and it's it felt very stylistic when I was watching it because I was like again, I wasn't couldn't hear it out here too much of it.
SPEAKER_04There was captions and um because it was like a noisy place, but uh the editing seemed pretty cool, so I was just like, oh, this seems interesting. The whole like her friends, and they're like, We'll make the plan and we'll do this, and you gotta go do this and find a guy, whatever, and make it and it just uh it was cool. Yeah, whatever.
SPEAKER_00Stupid premise, pretty okay acting, really fun. Uh that's my shout out.
SPEAKER_04Song Song Blue, you need to watch, because uh if you like if you like Kate Hudson at all, you need to watch that. But I've been watching that. Oh, I want I've been dying to watch it again, so maybe we should watch it together.
SPEAKER_00I think I might have to watch it uh after March 17th, March 15th. After the Oscars? Yeah, I need to. I'm I've been slacking on my Oscar movies. I need to watch I have like 15 minutes.
SPEAKER_02So you mean you need to watch them before the Oscars?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I watch them before the Oscars. Oh no, she's like Sung Sung Blue is in an Oscar movie.
SPEAKER_04No, but she's up for for best actors.
SPEAKER_00No, it's not on. I could swear it's not on because it's on the writers' guilds.
SPEAKER_04Oh no, but she's considering up for best actress.
SPEAKER_00Oh my goodness.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. This is what I'm saying. She's never she's never been this good.
SPEAKER_00They've scammed me. I I was now.
SPEAKER_04You're just looking about all the writers. They don't they never mention the actor categories for those things. For the writers' guild.
SPEAKER_00Well, no, because that's that's the thing, is I'm looking on the writers' guild, so I saw it there, but then I didn't see it on any list, so I haven't watched it yet because I've been-be wrong.
SPEAKER_04I could just be obsessing over how good she was in this movie.
SPEAKER_00You could totally be You are right! Ah watch that.
SPEAKER_04So I'm sure that other movies there in in the actor categories that you haven't you haven't uh considered because it's not like up for writing awards.
SPEAKER_00No, I it I'm not looking at writing awards. I'm like looking, I was looking at everything. I think I had like 45 movies to watch because I'm not I'm not watching short films or documentaries or any of the Oh no, that's why. I know why it's not there because it's up for song, and I'm not looking at song.
SPEAKER_04No, but she's up for actress.
SPEAKER_00I could swear that it was up for song because I sorted out up for song. That's why I did that. No, you said it's not up for song, you threw it out. Yeah, because I'm not watching. There's some there's some pretty crappy movies under song. Um figure it out later. I guess I well I'm gonna watch it anyways, but ah there's so many movies.
SPEAKER_04Alright, I'm gonna go to my movie, and I'm sorry to mention this because um you've been sick and I've been waiting forever. But I saw the Elvis movie. Um it's called Epic Elvis Presley and Concert. Great name, by the way.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I'm shocked they haven't done that sooner.
SPEAKER_04Boz Luhrmann. Um, as he was doing all the research and and getting collecting footage for the Elvis movie he made, he came upon this sort of surplus of insane footage from the Vegas years, um, plus some interview footage, and he decided to um search for audio that was lost and and put it all together. And it's a beautiful movie, and it's just like a rare behind-the-scenes look at Elvis during this era because it's like sort of maligned era because people think, oh, it's fat Elvis, blah blah, and it's like it's kind of weird how you know Fat Elvis is still like Elvis, you know what I mean? Like he's still like the guy. Um but he was such a presence. I mean he's so magnetic, and it's the you see the sort of also the the the loneliness, the the weirdness about him, like he's just like still like a kid at towards the end of his life, he's still kind of playful. He was still like, you know, there's so much footage of him just messing around with everybody. And you know, even when he there were moments that he got like mad, like his like anger was just really kind of like, you know, can we just please, you know, not do that again? Like pay attention to the part, let's do that, whatever. You know, quit my tempo. No, but it was just like he was such a, you know, and and very clearly under the shadow of uh Colonel Tom Parker. And just like, you know, some interviews he people would ask questions and he's he was very like it was like somebody trained under like duress and and uh abuse. You know, he was very kind of he knew how to answer questions in a way. And the whatever they showed a couple thing moments where he said things was very clear that like you know, that he was gonna get like a whooping from Colonel Parker if he said anything else. It was weird, it was dark in moments, but it was beautiful in the sense where you kind of see you really see because the movie was great, the Elvis movie was great, the biopic, I thought it was great. Um but to see the reason for it, you know, and and for me, like somebody who um he was my first, like the first person I consider a rock star growing up. The first person that to me was an idol, you know. I had posters of him in my bedroom and the bedroom that I shared with my brother in Jersey City. Um and uh, you know, he was just like larger than life for me, and he died when I was six years old. Um and uh it it left a mark on me. Like he was the first person that I realized what death was, you know. Um so yeah, the movie was beautiful. I recommend it. Uh if you can watch it in the theater, watch it, but even watch it anywhere possible, just do it. Um I think it's time for us to say goodbye.
