SPEAKER_01

Coming up this week.

SPEAKER_02

We talk about Christina Applegate, American Idol, Michael Jackson, Madonna, and Oz Perlman.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, and Moni Minnie gets her minute.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, she does.

SPEAKER_01

Enjoy!

SPEAKER_03

From beautiful Hollywood, California. Please welcome to Ginger Gems with Kate and James.

SPEAKER_01

What's up, hello? What's happening?

SPEAKER_03

You're right.

SPEAKER_01

What's been happening? Right. Hang on. Hang on, straight in with it.

SPEAKER_02

We just had a fight.

SPEAKER_01

A big fine.

SPEAKER_03

We had our popcorn.

SPEAKER_01

We were giving it a popcorn.

SPEAKER_02

We apologise to Mickey and Edica's. And Eddie. And Kate needs to apologise to me. We just had a big fight. Moving on.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. How's the weekend? Fantastic. How did we? Now just let's just say the other big thing, babe. The old Trump. The White House correspondence dinner. Yeah, how was the dinner? It was wonderful.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, didn't I I wonder how the food, I bet they didn't get they didn't know what they had for the dessert.

SPEAKER_01

I don't think they got even to the salad. They were still eating the bread. They were eating the bread.

SPEAKER_03

Eating crow.

SPEAKER_01

And then, yeah. But the the best thing, not the best thing. One thing about it is um Oz Perlman, who was the um mentalist, Ozv Mentalist, was on AGT, babe. It was on America's Got Talent. 2015 came third. Now he's now he's gonna be a global name. This is gonna do him a bit. When I'd never heard of it.

SPEAKER_02

Famous or infamous? I know it's gonna be both. I'd never heard of him. And I saw him on the it was on CNN doing a thing, doing a trick.

SPEAKER_01

He's doing his bit.

SPEAKER_02

Um with uh Dana Bash, who is CNN might as well be called the Dana Bash channel. It's all about Dana Bash, and uh I don't like much. Shit, but they did this thing and it was like really, really, really clever. And I'd never seen him before, heard of him, but and I thought this is his big break. It seemed I didn't know how he was gonna do it to like do his kind of shtick at the White House dinner because it's like if he's playing a even before the if he's if he's doing something on the president, he's like it can't do everything into people in. I didn't know how he was gonna do it. So I was interested. The only thing I was interested in seeing about that now was what he was gonna do. And then when this thing happened, you think, well, that's his shot, that's the end of his big big break.

SPEAKER_01

Um yet it's probably the opposite. Now it's the opposite. Plus, he actually is really big in that world. A mentalist.

SPEAKER_02

Is that a big world?

SPEAKER_01

It is a big world right now. Because on AGT we used to always have the magicians and the different people, you know, disappearing and all that nonsense. Uh but now it's all mentalist stuff. It's huge. That's all we have on there. Loads of mentalists.

SPEAKER_02

So they're saying they might do it again in like uh whet whether the bill of the city.

SPEAKER_01

They are doing it next week.

SPEAKER_02

Are they?

SPEAKER_01

Was it next week or next month? They're gonna do it again.

SPEAKER_02

They said it's in the next 30 days, was what they said. But you know, there's maybe it's not the next thing many things are. Yeah, they're gonna redo it.

SPEAKER_01

They're gonna redo it.

SPEAKER_02

But you know, will they have him again?

SPEAKER_01

Or they have somebody more than a whole bunch of it.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know that Trump will go. Because I mean, but there's but he's the one who said that they're gonna do it, but there's a lot of things that he said they're gonna be in two weeks, and then we you know never see him again, you know, healthcare. Um we won't go there. But uh moving on, yeah. Anyway, so that so old uh AGT alum.

SPEAKER_04

Yes, you don't hear him.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, AGT is a massive show, and obviously, you know, we've both involved with it at one time or another. But like you don't really hear from the winners, do you? You don't really well you don't from idle anymore, do you?

SPEAKER_01

You used to do well, Kelly Clarkson, no, but like remembered.

SPEAKER_02

The first the first few still the first few, like you look at your Kelly, I would say the big three are probably Kelly, Jennifer Hudson, and Carrie Underwood. They're the big three that you remember, but like the rest of them, you don't hear about it. Right, but isn't that when they were getting what 10, 20 million? Well, I say second season was 30. So Kelly the first one, then Ruben Studd won the second one. You don't really hear anything about it.

SPEAKER_01

Adam Lambert!

SPEAKER_02

Adam Lambert and then Alam Adam. He didn't win either, did he?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, he didn't win. He should have won't eat, so I love him.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, so there's some, but then six star at the ball, talking about it. No, you don't hear that much about Taylor Hicks and things.

SPEAKER_01

That's a different story with Taylor Hicks because I think he didn't take the contract or something. No, there was something weird with that.

SPEAKER_02

It was a bit of a Yeah, a bit weird. Um I just went back to Idle the other day for allegedly. Allegedly. I did Idle for 12 years. I was on my first season was the uh the Fantasia. Another one. I don't know what happened to Fantasia. First one was Fantasia, and I was on from season three to thirteen. Um and then I they changed a lot of people on the show, myself included, and I've not been back, but I went back on Saturday to cover for Steve, and it was my first time back on Idol in like 12 years, and that was strange to. I kind of wonder what it'd be like to go back because it used to be my show, and now to go back just as a kind of visitor.

SPEAKER_01

What'd it feel like?

SPEAKER_02

It felt I thought it would be strange to go back into that world because to me, Idol seems such a long time ago now, and uh for me it was. It didn't feel like other than the big American Idol sign at the back, it felt like I was nothing about it felt familiar.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I thought you were gonna say I walked in and it just felt like it was like that many years ago.

SPEAKER_02

Not at all. It's a different studio, it's a different set, it's a different team. A lot of the dance with the stars team are there, you know, the Phil and Roger and everybody. So there was a lot of people there from dancing, so I knew people there, yeah. But I think I saw two different people that were on American Idol and I was, and uh Patrick and this other girl. Yeah, Patrick's still there, but like it was strange to and uh it was strange to go back in, but it was like there was nothing about it that felt familiar. Yeah, it just said it the set doesn't the set is completely different, it's a completely different everything. I mean, this is the ABC Idol as opposed to the Fox Idol that I walked worked on. But you go in and the only thing is that right at the back of the house it says American Idol, and you think if it that didn't wasn't there, you wouldn't know where you were. Wow, it's felt it didn't feel you know, whatever. And that actually there again next weekend. But it was uh interesting to go back, but not like there was nothing nostalgical or like oh my god, it's nice to be home.

SPEAKER_01

Because it is, to be honest, it's on ABC now. It's it is a completely different show.

SPEAKER_02

Completely different show. Other than Ryan and the name, it you wouldn't know it was that show.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, I did it for three seasons when it came back to ABC. I did like three years on it. But yeah, it was a fun show actually to work on. And then I was still working with Phil who I work with on Dancing, it was the same team.

SPEAKER_02

That was more it that you saw that there was all the people that you know from the cameras and you know people like that from dancing.

SPEAKER_01

Nice, babe.

SPEAKER_02

Uh what about you? What have you been doing this week?

SPEAKER_01

Um, what have I been doing this week?

SPEAKER_02

Have you been on the news at all this week?

SPEAKER_01

No, no news this week. No news this week, babe. Um actually let me pull up straight away theatre because this is what we did this week, and it was amazing. We went and saw musique, which is an immersive like um musical event, they call it, and it's an orchestra. And there was a woman called babe who runs.

SPEAKER_03

Rachel Warby, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Rachel Warby. She's fantastic, she's a conductor, right? And she also arranges some of the music and the musicians. I mean, it's like an orchestra. And she uh she picks a uh a theme. This theme was um Wizard of Oz, wasn't it? So she picks Wizard of Oz, and then she tells the history of not only The Wizard of Oz but anything connected with that. So she brought in Yellow Brick Road, the album by Elton John, they brought in The Whiz, they brought in Wicked, and it's just done so bloody well. It's like an hour and a half their shows are. It's immersive, so they come out to the audience, everybody's dancing. It's just so much fun, isn't it, babe? It's a lot of fun. So I want to promote that because it needs to be promoted and people need to go. It's a beautiful interaction of music, and you learn something every time because she delves into history of things, and it's she always comes up with things with something you've never heard about, you know. So it's always really, really interesting. So, yeah, that's what I did this week. And the next one, she does one, they do one every month. So look, you can look them up. I'll link them below. The next one is Sunrises in Harlem, and it's all about um how Harlem music came through and the renaissance of it all. So yeah, it's so good. And then the following month, because I've already got tickets for the following month, is Joni Mitchell. She's doing Defiantly Joni and a whole thing on her, so yeah, amazing. So that's a little tidbit for you here in LA or you come on holiday here. So that's what, yeah, so really it was that. Mickey went away this week, didn't you, Bo? Yep, I was in Denver. That was lovely. For both of us. Yeah, for both of us. That was a nice little break, wouldn't it, Bay?

SPEAKER_02

You know, you know, you said Johnny Mitchell, you know the um on the corner of Sunset Boulevard and Crescent Heights. Oh, the car park, you're gonna say. Was Paradise like a nightclub or something like that? There was something there.

SPEAKER_01

Must have been a club.

SPEAKER_02

Like a nightclub or a club or something that got flattened and became a parking lot and still is.

SPEAKER_01

And she sang the song.

SPEAKER_02

And that's the song. That's what the song's about. And and on that street wall at the back, there was uh I think there's a McDonald's or there was a McDonald's. And I think Brad Pitt used to work at the McDonald's, I was told.

SPEAKER_01

Wow.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, back at when he first got here. But anyway.

SPEAKER_01

See, there's always something there. There's always something. Turn a corner, there was another story.

SPEAKER_03

Another little Hollywood story.

SPEAKER_01

Another little Hollywood story.

SPEAKER_03

All right, moving on.

SPEAKER_01

Moving on, TV. I think you've got something about TV here, babe.

SPEAKER_02

So yes. So the other week I mentioned that I'd been uh to Oklahoma to shoot this episode of Collector's Call because this guy David had uh a collection of Dallas crap and uh Dallas gems.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, gems, babe, not bad crap.

SPEAKER_02

Collector's call just started up this last uh, I think two weeks ago it started the new series. Uh Bob Bowden, who is a producer friend of mine who I know, he was on episode one because he has a game show collection and he collects all this stuff from game shows, which apparently is just donated to some museum. Uh but I just got told the other day that uh my episode will air.

SPEAKER_01

When? You haven't even told me yet when?

SPEAKER_02

August 2nd. Dun, dun, dun, but it's like that must be the last one. No, it's not. That's the thing. There's apparently 20, because we were like the first because it's gonna be the best because Charlene Tilton's on it, or it's gonna be the last. And and it's like there's 27 episodes in the season. And we're like episode 17, so we are like bang in the middle. So we're not first or last. We couldn't be further from either.

SPEAKER_01

Well, yeah, but you know where you are, you're where it starts to dip, so they need to put something in to pull it back up there so it can ride the last 10 shows there. Like Tilton, yeah, exactly. There you go.

SPEAKER_02

So that's so collector's call me TV. So you've got till August 2nd to try and find out how to get Me TV.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, we'll be showing them how to get it. We'll be putting it, we'll be putting full instructions to Me TV. James is on the club.

SPEAKER_02

And it'll be uh so that is so August 2nd, apparently that is on. Beautiful.

SPEAKER_03

And just to go back, the Paradise was a hippie uh hippie coffee house and club. Oh, oh, there you go. See, every day's a school day.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Yeah, it was a Paradise put up a parking lot and it's a parking lot.

SPEAKER_01

I bet it was cool.

SPEAKER_02

Oh god, can I and Joni Mitchell's in there having a latte, I better be there.

SPEAKER_01

But they were in there, I bet they had a guitarist in there and everything. I bet it was like day, everybody was in there and they're gonna be a little bit more than a little bit. Yeah, yeah. And then in the evening, I bet it all went like like twinkly lights, like in here, babe. Twinkly lights and like yells people playing guitars and you would be annoyed when they flatten it and put the parking lot, wouldn't you? Huh?

SPEAKER_02

You would be annoyed that they flattened it and put it in a lot. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Well annoyed. No wonder she sang that song.

SPEAKER_03

Corporate greed.

SPEAKER_01

Well done.

SPEAKER_03

All right, let's talk about books.

SPEAKER_01

Oh no, I didn't want to talk about books, babe. We can go back to TV because we watched the last um The Jewry Duty um Company Retreat that you talked about. We watched the last one of that. Now when we would we've watched them all.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, the big reveal the big reveal.

SPEAKER_01

Babe.

SPEAKER_03

Is it good?

SPEAKER_01

It's so emotional because these people have only been there a week. These people have bonded. I mean, it's all the actors, and then this one person who's not an actor who thinks this is all real. They bond so much, and he really they like I said last time, they chose a really good person, the right person. Like last time you were you won, perfection. This one, perfection. And he did, and no more, and even when they did the reveal and said, This isn't real, this is a TV show, even then, he was still like, I love you, man. He loves everyone. I was crying babe. It's so lovely to see people connect like that, right? And really connect. You know, like have you ever done that where you've gone away in something for a week? I've done like yoga retreats, right? And you literally you fall in love with the people you're with, like it's like you've known them forever. And I think it was the same kind of thing because you're all together 24-7, seven days.

SPEAKER_02

That's a hell of a comfortable with.

SPEAKER_01

Removed from everything. So everybody's in the same boat in that way, you know. But it was just so it's so and next week they're gonna have another one, aren't they? Just to call it like a reunion kind of thing. That we I'm gonna watch that. But this week was it was so it was so good. Watch if you just wanna have nice, nice, good TV, and it was very funny, it was a great show that whole time.

SPEAKER_02

Well, my my only TV is I'm still watching Survivor, I still think it's great, and I'm and I have how far are you into that now? Halfway through, something like that. It's the 50th thing that they're just getting ready for the big live finale the building set over at Television City to for the live finale. But it's still good, and uh and I did watch the second episode of uh something bad is gonna happen. And uh and it's still creepy and it's still good.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, we got we we they're actually doing a showing of that sour house, so we got tickets for that. So we will go. We'll start watching, I think it's next week because Mickey was away. Next Sunday, I think. Yeah, next no, no, not oh yeah, maybe it is. Um yeah, and that she's the girl I talked about is the grant, she's gonna be there and the director, and it's for the episode one. So we'll watch that and then we'll catch up. So by by the following week, we should be on the same page with that one.

SPEAKER_03

Um have you seen have you seen beef at all? Oh babe. I don't even know what that is.

SPEAKER_01

Babe.

SPEAKER_03

I didn't watch I've got my beef.

SPEAKER_01

We've got a we've got a lot of beef in here today. That was a part of the.

SPEAKER_03

Beef season two started, so we started watching that.

SPEAKER_01

I didn't see beef season one, but we did start beef season two, and it's really good. It's kind of got a white lotus feel about it.

SPEAKER_03

Tell you what it is, it's fucking stressful.

SPEAKER_01

It's stressful, it's so the anxiety. I said, I can't watch. So we're gonna mix it with the other show that you the the I'd a celebrity get me out of air English show. Oh, right, right. Yeah, we're gonna mix it because there's no way I can watch more than one, two maximum.

SPEAKER_02

If anyone can get get British TV, I'm a Celebrity, South Africa. South Africa. I'm a start to get me out of here, South Africa. Is it uh finished on Friday, and I've been trying to catch up on it because I didn't didn't realise it was on until it was almost done. And now I'm trying to catch up, and you guys haven't seen it yet. I haven't seen away, I didn't want to have to watch it. We're gonna watch it.

SPEAKER_01

We're gonna watch it this week.

SPEAKER_02

So next week we'll deck are my favourites.

SPEAKER_01

I wish they were here in the United States.

SPEAKER_03

I want to hang out with them, I want to be friends with them.

SPEAKER_02

And those are those who don't know Anton Anton Deck are two English presenters who've been mates since they were kids, and they are really, really, really good. And then when I going back to Idol, when Idol started, Anton Deck hosted Pop Idol, the English version, and when American Idol started, they tried to recreate that kind of thing with Ryan Seacrest and Brian Dunkelman. That was the whole thing of these two guys, it didn't work, did it, which is why Brian Dunkleman went bye-bye after season one. But yeah, so Anton Deck are unique and and uh they can't be recreated, but they were they're really good. I'm slow to get me out of here, South Africa on uh but it's on English TV, and I'm not sure you'll be able to get it, but it's good if you can.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

All right, let's talk about uh I think you wanted to mention a book.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, last week I mentioned Lena Dunham, her memoir, fame sick memoir. It amazing, amazing, amazing. Everybody get it. This week I've got another memoir, uh Christina Applegate, You with the Sad Eyes. Great, fantastic, really good read, terrible childhood. I mean, awful, yeah, awful. You know, she has like uh MS, right? MS, yeah. Um, yeah, it's a really good book. I've only just started it, but so far, really good. Um, and if you want to see a fantastic interview going back to last week's Lena Dunham, she does a fantastic interview with Drew Barrymore, which I'm gonna link below. She does it on the Drew Barrymore show, but there's no audience, and it's really, it's really good. So I I'm gonna we'll link that. We'll link that.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, did you see the the Netflix is doing that? Netflix is a joke kind of comedy festival. Um I just did a I was again covering Steve on this Kevin Hott show that they're doing called uh funny AF. Um Netflix is a joke, they're doing they've got the the recruit reuniting the cast of Married with Children and so Christine Apple. She was there. So they're doing the thing. I don't know if it's coming up any day now, but they've got I saw the promo for it and it's all four of them.

SPEAKER_01

Wow, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah Kate Siegel and Kate Siegel, Edith.

SPEAKER_02

Ed O'Neill, um the son.

SPEAKER_03

Bud Bundy. Yeah, Bud.

SPEAKER_01

Bud, Bud Bundy.

SPEAKER_03

Let me up a bit. Let me look at the name of the data. Oh, it's a good one.

SPEAKER_02

Well done! Well done, Eddie. We've got Eddie there.

SPEAKER_01

Eddie on the ones and twos.

SPEAKER_02

Eddie's, yeah, it's it's uh Eddie's way better than Ross.

SPEAKER_01

Um Ross has left us the downstairs. But he's actually downstairs, isn't it?

SPEAKER_03

The bart is the bart is in the hands of the biggest.

SPEAKER_01

Ross the boss is now with the boss. Yeah. So um movie spay, good movies coming out. One's just come out, one's coming out this week. Good huge movies, let's put it that way.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

One, Michael Jackson.

SPEAKER_03

Called Michael.

SPEAKER_01

Called Michael. The second is number two of um Devil Wears Prada 2.

SPEAKER_02

I I would like to see Devil's Wear Prada 2. I it's one of those things that I out on May the 1st, Metball, Met Gala.

SPEAKER_01

We'll be talking about fashion next week, everyone.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, fantastic. I look forward to that. Um that'll be brief. I uh I thought Devil Wears Prada was really, really good, but I I didn't really know that it needed a sequel. I worry about that when they do things like that. I always worry about that. Why would they do that?

SPEAKER_01

Especially when I loved one. How wasn't the story told?

SPEAKER_02

The first one was good. I don't really remember how it ended, but like surely old uh what's her name?

SPEAKER_01

She moved on and they saw each other.

SPEAKER_02

Why would they still be why would they still have any connection?

SPEAKER_01

Because she's moved on up, babe.

SPEAKER_03

So now I think she's probably I think she's taken over a high position at the company.

SPEAKER_01

She comes in from because remember she left because she wanted to do, you know, more, you know, not so frilly stuff, put it that way. It's fashion, um, pun intended. Um so she was moving out to her sort of zone, and I think she's moved well up in that, but it's all magazine, isn't it? Because them all the magazine, they're all owned by the same bloody person, you know if it's about gardening or if it's about bloody folk. Um, so I think that's how it is. I don't know, not for sure, don't know. But I think that's what it is. So she then comes back into it that way through being a gone up that company.

SPEAKER_02

I always seem to find that not like with sequels, not only to movies, but also to um like TV series, is that you always kind of like wonder what these people are doing now, and it's interesting to see these people again, and it's nice to see these people again, but they never live up. And it's like whenever they go back, like whenever you bring, you know, because it's been a long time and it's like it'd be cool to see these characters again because they was you're so fondly remembered from the first one, or or you had, you know, whether you'd like them or not.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it doesn't always work, does it?

SPEAKER_02

But I don't know that it's a good thing.

SPEAKER_01

Well, Sex and the City didn't when they bought what was it called?

SPEAKER_02

Uh just like there's not many of them compared to that.

SPEAKER_01

And just like that. Right they should have left it as a couple of things. Oh please god, they've ruined it for me. Ruined Sex and the City. I can't believe it made me watch it. But you know and you know another trailer that came out this week, babe? Which one of my favourite films, Practical Magic. Practical Magic 2, they've done. And it's coming out in September, and they released the trailer this week. Last week now. They released the trailer of it. Right. Not sure. Watch the trailer.

SPEAKER_03

James James, I don't think knows anything about practical magic.

SPEAKER_01

Uh uh, Nicole Kipman.

SPEAKER_03

Oh right.

SPEAKER_01

Um, and Sandra Bullock.

SPEAKER_03

Oh right.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I also have to say, that's gonna be a little bit correct yourself from saying bulk. Yeah, so uh yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I don't want to see that because I don't see how I have an issue with um yeah celebrating. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I think that's a bit controversial because I think it is it is the whole thing is controversial. I think people are gonna I mean like can I just say that it came out on uh Sat Friday, Saturday?

SPEAKER_03

Friday?

SPEAKER_01

Saturday? Friday no, yesterday, Saturday, promo Saturday. They did the big thing where it was on every cinema. I think it might have been early on to but yesterday when I went to the Grove, that it was the whole Grove had like Michael Jackson, everything. They had the be they had all these like television screens with everything he had on, they were giving out free shit. But every show was sold out. Sparty gloves or something. Yeah, spotly gloves and a tote.

SPEAKER_03

Well John Mullini did a super funny interview where he was interviewing Bubbles, the chimpanzee. Ah, have you seen this? For the movie for the movie, oh my god.

SPEAKER_01

Like as a joke for the movie?

SPEAKER_03

No, not for the movie, for his own thing, but it's because the movie's out. Yeah, oh yeah. Oh my god, is this funny? Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

We'll link it out. We'll link it because we'll link it.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know. I kind of find it. I think that he was a talent, but oh, there's just too much going on there that to I I know there's people won't hear wrong against him, but I just think there's too much there for me to think that this is this is not innocent, and I don't really know that I'm gonna want to see a story saying how wonderful he is.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it's very controversial. And and apparently it ends in like 1988 or something like that. Yeah, I think he doesn't even know. Yeah, so it doesn't go through his whole history of the.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, so Michael Michael II might do a bit more. Michael's a sequel that's a good one. It is, but they would, wouldn't they? It was like Wicked.

SPEAKER_01

They could even chop Wicked into one and two, didn't they? They had Wicked One and then Wicked Two. Yeah. When that was really just one sh one thing. So yeah, why every everybody wants a two now, don't they? Let's be honest.

SPEAKER_03

Well, they're probably not gonna make a two of this, but well they might do if they can get Classic Movies guys?

SPEAKER_01

Oh, okay. Last week on Coachella, no, two weeks ago, not last week, two one weekend ago. Um Madonna with the remember we talked spoke about Sarah um Sabrina Carpenter.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, she looks near.

SPEAKER_01

She bay. Well her her second show, so the following weekend, was with um Madonna. And Madonna was wearing the same outfit exactly that she wore when she was there in 2006. It's 20 years since Madonna was at Coachella performing. So she came back in exactly the same outfit, shoes, boots. Oh my god, I wanted those boots in 2006. I wanted them even more now. And I shouldn't really say that because at the end of Coachella, somebody stole everything, the whole outfit. Honestly, I was worried. I was worried I was worried. Well, they they literally her wardrobe. And that she'd had that since 2006. But somebody said I still haven't found it. And I was like, I shouldn't say too much about it. Because I'm gonna they'll be knocking on the door. Exactly. I'll be wearing the purple boots or whatever. They look nice. Oh my god. I was like that when they said it, I was like, what? Somebody's got those boots? And then I thought, oh, is there like you know, see if they come up on eBay? Anyway, Madonna, but what it did do to me, because I was the biggest Madonna fan. Oh my god.

SPEAKER_02

We went to see Madonna, didn't we?

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god, yeah, we saw Madonna here. She made us wait for like two hours. Yeah, oh God.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, she made us wait two hours. Do you remember that annoying those annoying girls who'd got the wrong seat?

SPEAKER_01

Yes, yeah. And right when she came on and we waited two hours, but then we missed the open.

SPEAKER_02

And it was a big thing, and it was just all the lights company. It's building, building, building. Like here she comes, here she comes. And then these dopey girls, like three of them, come shuffling in front of us. Excuse me, excuse me, excuse me. And then they were in, these are our seats, these are our seats, and they're not our seats. And by the time they'd like to prove our tickets. By the time they'd gone, she was halfway through the get into the groove.

SPEAKER_01

After we'd sat there for two hours.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Ridiculous.

SPEAKER_02

We missed a big entrance because of these dopey twats who were in the wrong fucking section. Sorry.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god. But yes, I love I saw her also at Madison Square Gardens 2004. That was amazing. But um, what I used to have on repeat, right, was Truth was it Truth or Dare? Her documentary. Oh my god. And so I watched it again this week. I love it. I love it. Really?

SPEAKER_02

I love it. I didn't even know there was one.

SPEAKER_01

Oh it's the best. It's all it's like all black and white. It's her blonde uh is it Blonde Ambition Tour? Yeah, the Blonde Ambition Tour. The uh behind the scenes of the Blonde Ambition Tour. The one where she's with um she's dating Warren Beattie, and she's yeah, she at that point. I think she'd just done that. I think she'd done Dick Tracy, yeah. Or she was just gonna do Dick Tracy either way. Um and the whole remember the whole thing with um Kevin Costner when he walks into the dress room after seeing the show and she goes, Did you enjoy it? And he goes, Yeah, it was neat. And she's like, Neat. And then he leaves and she's like, neat. You never got, you know, it shouldn't be at my show. He's not worthy of my show or something if he, you know, but uses the word neat. Anyway, that stands up, love it, and her whole attitude is so how everybody was around that.

SPEAKER_03

You know, it's well she just didn't care, did she?

SPEAKER_01

She didn't care, but neither did we at that point, babe, you know, because it was like, you know, when you're young, you're just such an asshole, and it was great, and it reminded me. And I was young in 2004, very young, not 2004, 1991.

SPEAKER_02

91, oh I was very young.

SPEAKER_01

Same year it was exactly same year my um Delilah was born, 1991. Two good things that happened that yeah. Two good things and you started college.

SPEAKER_02

I started college in 91.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_02

My friend Gary who uh who lives in Australia and was telling me that he was he he said text me the other day and said something, oh, we should chat. And I said it'd be good to catch up. He said, though I know everything that you do in these days. I'm like, oh, you're listening then? You're listening to the podcast?

SPEAKER_01

I think he said he was. Yeah. And where is he?

SPEAKER_02

Australia.

SPEAKER_01

There you go! There's our Australians! That's that, and then it's um.

SPEAKER_02

There it is, Australia. There's our Australian connection.

SPEAKER_01

My cousin. I think my cousin. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Old Gary's listening down under, bless him.

SPEAKER_01

There you go.

SPEAKER_03

He must be a slug work. All right, speaking of that. Speaking of that, we have a new segment where debuting.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yes, yes.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, it's called it's called Minnie's Moaning Minute.

SPEAKER_01

Minnie's Moaning Minute.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, get your get your clock ready.

SPEAKER_01

I was gonna get it out. What did I do with it?

SPEAKER_03

All right, never mind. No, no, I've got it. I got it right here. I've got it. I'm gonna count down James, and he's got 60 seconds.

SPEAKER_01

He's got 60 seconds to moan, and this will probably be all about me.

SPEAKER_03

Two, two, all right, go ahead, Kate.

SPEAKER_01

Three, go, two, one, start.

SPEAKER_02

I just I so I want to do a moaning thing that that something that annoys me, and I was getting more and more annoyed this week that I don't understand why we are dishonesty and lies. Everything is lying, everybody's lying to you. We get all the politicians, obviously, that that does it. But like, I don't understand why we have come to a point in our lives where we accept that people are being that we're being lied to at everything. If you buy something, they tell you that this is what it's gonna look like, you know, on the packet it says this is what this meal is gonna look like. It doesn't. If you buy if you go walk past McDonald's, there's a big picture of a McBig Mac in the window. Not that you'd buy a Big Mac, but if you did, it doesn't look like that. You order flowers online, they'd say this is what it's gonna look like. They don't, and we just go along with it and we accept that we're being lied to the whole time. So everything that through life, everybody's lying to you, and we all accept that that's okay. So it annoys me. Where is the honesty? Where is why are we accepting that dishonesty is okay and we are being lied to the whole time? And it we need to stop. I agree.

SPEAKER_01

One minute, perfect! There is a moaning mini.

SPEAKER_03

Minnie's moaning minute.

SPEAKER_01

Minnie's moaning minute. Say that after a couple of drinks.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And there it was, perfection, babe. We've been lied to the whole time. Well, do you know why, babe? Because do you know when they say when you're in a company and the company is all toxic? What do they always say?

SPEAKER_02

Shit rolls downhill.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Ooh, it comes from the top. Yeah. That's all we have to say. Let's move on then, babe. Let's move on. Can I just say here's a bit of fashion for you? Victoria Beckham.

SPEAKER_02

Right, one minute, go.

SPEAKER_01

It'd be less than one minute.

SPEAKER_02

Wrap it up.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my god, I've already done a minute. I've done anything!

SPEAKER_02

Okay, moving on.

SPEAKER_01

Victoria Beckham did a collab with the Gap. It literally went online. I think it went online for people who had, like, you know, special membership to Gap or whatever. And then it went online to the mere mortals. And literally, I put it on, and there was one thing I wanted, which was like this sort of um jumpsuit. It was really cool.

SPEAKER_02

It wasn't Madonna's, was it?

SPEAKER_01

It could have been Madonna's. It actually could have. It could have been eBay's look to it. Um no, that's my point. I'm just gonna get there, babe. But um, yeah, gone. Sold out, sold out, sold out. Like that. I couldn't even hit the thing quick enough, and it was like everything was gone. A couple of things were left, which are the dodgy ones, of the course.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_01

And then you'd flip over to eBay, right? So the jumpsuit was a hundred and I mean you've got to think this is Victoria Beckham stuff, which is thousands, right? So she's now collabing, uh doing the collab. So uh, you know, obviously it's gonna be less money, but the jumpsuit was like $148, okay, for the jumpsuit. Go over to eBay, $800.

SPEAKER_02

So people have bought it and then were it.

SPEAKER_01

Everybody bought yes, they buy them and then they stick them on eBay and they split the price up.

SPEAKER_02

Talk about dishonest. Dishonest scam this.

SPEAKER_01

It's a scam, it's a scam. Everything scam. Tickets, yes, jumpsuits. That's what they do with the tickets, don't they? Going back to Home Web. Yeah, they buy them all up straight away and then mark it up, mark it up, sell it on. Absolutely. There you go. We put you into a lot of it.

SPEAKER_03

All right, well, we're getting to that time where we're going to talk about the gem cuts.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Um, who gets on the gem cut this week? Oh, can I just say before who gets on the gem cut? It's a shame, let's do better. You, a, you're first on, it's a shame, let's do better. We'll see how that goes. Second one is the new secretary of the navy that Trump has uh appointed.

SPEAKER_02

Why?

SPEAKER_01

Put uh I don't know, because he wants a new one.

SPEAKER_02

No, no, no. Well, okay.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, his name is Hung Cao, right? He he said today. He said today He said today. Yeah, this week. Not today, yeah. This week he said that there's there's witches in America. The witches are taking over America. The Wiccan. And in Monterey, into he said Monterey, was it? It was Monterey's gone very dark.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, Monterey, California's gone very dark. The Wiccans are taking over and we cannot let this happen.

SPEAKER_01

And the Christians cannot let this happen. So we're now this this bloke, it's a shame. This bloke, Hung Cow, right?

SPEAKER_02

I mean, come on. I must admit, from where I'm sitting, I can kind of agree with some part of the witches taken over. I don't know about Monterey. Hung.

SPEAKER_00

No, he's trying to start the bloody witch hunt again. After all years, he's bloody trying to say the witches are taken. We've got to get rid of the witches. Yeah. Which are women. So, yeah. So are you scared?

SPEAKER_02

Are you nervous?

SPEAKER_01

Yes, I am, babe. It's I'm I'm nervous for all us women. It's another fucking thing.

SPEAKER_03

All right, Hun Cow. You know what? You're being called out. It's a shame. Let's do better.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, let's do better. There you go, babe. Right, gems, babe. Go.

SPEAKER_03

I wonder if it's taking recommendations.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I'm sure you'll be putting my name for it in a second. Alright, who made the gem card?

SPEAKER_02

Uh well you're gonna you're saying that uh jewelry duty, the jewelry duty compository is.

SPEAKER_01

Oh babe, it's so lovely and it's such a great payoff with just all the love and everything. Because it's very funny, but the payoff is unbelievable.

SPEAKER_02

Um I don't know if we have that money this week. You're saying Christina Christina Applegate book.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, absolutely, Christian Christina uh Christina Applegate book.

SPEAKER_02

Um not making it all scammers on the Victoria Becker thing.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they're not making it. Um, yeah, musique is definitely, and we're gonna put the link below because you become a member and it's like cheap as chips. I think it's like $75 for a member for the year, and then you get the shows, and anyway, have a look at it. But yeah, it's amazing. So yes, mark it up, sell it on eBay. Yeah, sell it on eBay. That's $150. It's true, babe. And they would if they could. Truth or Dare I said, didn't I? Um yeah, musique. Yeah, so it's quite a few nice.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, collector's second. It's it that kind of makes the gem cut because but the big the big gem of collector's call isn't until August 2nd. Right. Yeah, so yeah.

SPEAKER_01

All right, pull a card.

SPEAKER_02

So pull a card.

SPEAKER_01

Do you want to put me on the minute clock? Do you have a minute? If I get no.

SPEAKER_00

Babe, we're getting cards that we had before.

SPEAKER_02

Last week you didn't say what it was. You said it's the source, and and listening back, you never said that it was the source. On the thing, it never said it. You we got the source, but never mentioned it. All right, well, what's today's card?

SPEAKER_01

I thought it did say the source, because then Ross said, Oh, it's the source again.

SPEAKER_02

I think he might have said it. I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

And I said, Yes, the source.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. All right, let's see what this card is.

SPEAKER_01

Ripeness. Ripeness, ripeness. Which means, well, what more can you say? Just got to get on with it. Ripeness. What did you say?

SPEAKER_03

Neat. Neat, neat. So neat.

SPEAKER_01

So neat, that is neat, though. Ugh. If you know what, if you know, if you've seen Truth or Day, you're wondering what we're doing there, but just watch it because the uh uh is part of it. Um, yeah, ripeness. So things are look at it. It's basically an apple falling out of the tree. This is the time, time is now. This is the time, time is now.

SPEAKER_02

Right. Okay, beautiful. All right, time is now. We've had the time is now before to that call to be.

SPEAKER_01

We had the ripeness like week two, I think.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know if we've had ripeness before.

SPEAKER_01

We've had ripeness. Have we? Yeah, I've got to do that. I think we have had ripeness. I haven't had ripeness. In the first few weeks or two. I think we had it week two.

SPEAKER_03

And the time is ripe to say thank you to everybody.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, nicely done, Mickey.

SPEAKER_01

Mickey. Nicely done, Mickey. It's been watching too much anti-deck. It's like learning how to do it. It is, it is like we don't need Ant and Deck, we got it rolled into one with a Mickey.

SPEAKER_02
