Coming up on Two Ginger Gems.
SPEAKER_01An announcement from Dancing with the Stars.
SPEAKER_02A music legend at the Whiskey of Go-Go and a devil of a movie review. And God save the king. Enjoy.
SPEAKER_00From beautiful Hollywood, California. Please welcome to Ginger Gems with Kate and James. Oh, let's get into it.
SPEAKER_02Hello, darling. Hello, Baby.
SPEAKER_00Hello, darling.
SPEAKER_02Come on, let's get on with it. What do we think about this week, babe? Well, there's only one person to mention straight off the bat.
SPEAKER_01The king.
SPEAKER_02The king!
SPEAKER_01The king, King Charles. Bless him. Didn't he do well, as they say? Didn't he do well?
SPEAKER_02He bloody well did do well.
SPEAKER_01Did you watch the speech at Congress?
SPEAKER_02Yes. I No, I watched the one at the Y. Which one did I watch? You did the one at the Y Sky. I watched the one when he was really kind of roasted, did a bit of a roast. Yeah, did a bit of a roast.
SPEAKER_01And then he did uh a 30-minute speech at Congress.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_01And it was like You probably saw clips, but it was like, oh, okay, hang on, kids. Grandad's here to come and put us right. Really? He came in.
SPEAKER_02Scold them.
SPEAKER_01Kind of. Not but very, I mean, I the one word I'll say.
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_01Eloquent.
SPEAKER_02Oh.
SPEAKER_01Incredibly eloquent. He just nailed it. And it's boring because it's the royal, the king speaking, and it's 30 minutes. But everything about it was so well spoken, he had he made strong points all the way through, criticising the government, criticising Congress, criticising, you know, a lot of things, the wars, but in a polite, without being very accus accusatory, accusatory, uh, he just said all this stuff and and he was witty, uh, which is kind of surprising for Prince Charles, King Charles. But um my favourite thing he said was uh because it was all about the 250th anniversary of the US, and he said, um, so 250 years ago, or as we say in the United Kingdom, just the other day. Yeah, which we do, which we do, and he talked about um all of the stuff about you know what the problems that the fights America and England have had, and then the the unity that they had. He talked about the strength of NATO, he brought up 9-11, he kind of had a go about the executives need to have checks and balances, which was kind of a kind of a dig at Trump, but also kind of a dig at Congress. And you couldn't really say oh, that he was being, you know, you couldn't really say he was criticising anybody because he was criticising. Because he was but the way he said it, it was like you you took it on board without feeling like he was attacking. I th I thought he nailed it, and in England the response was really, really everyone was like really impressed with it. Yeah, and I watched it on YouTube and I scrolled through the comments to and there was thousands of uh expecting someone's gonna be criticising. I I'm sure they were there. I couldn't get to one, everyone kept saying there's a grown-up in the room, there's the granddad's come to tell us what's what feels like finally someone with who can speak in that room, and it was all and it was you know proud to be British. It wasn't anti-American, but it was so supportive of him, and there was all this thing of that's why we are England as a monarchy, that's why there is still still someone there that is um comes out and says it how it is without being political or or bipartisan or partisan or whatever. It just was I was so impressed with with the king. So impressed with the king.
SPEAKER_02Five stars, yeah. Right, so you know what else, babe? Do you know what I'm happy about? Do you know what I'm happy about this week?
SPEAKER_01Yes, darling.
SPEAKER_02Because that is a positive, right? That's a really positive. I feel like there's a lot of positive things happened. Well, I did you used to watch Ted Lasso?
SPEAKER_01I've watched the first two seasons, and I think by and then I saw the Christmas special, and I it kind of got thought it got a bit sappy, and I just didn't go back.
SPEAKER_02Oh, I didn't see a Christmas special.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, they were singing and snowing and all that stuff.
SPEAKER_02Oh, I'm gonna have to watch that, babe. I love a bit of snak singing and snow. Um, yeah, anyway, they're coming back, babe. And the trailer has just come out.
SPEAKER_01So a billboard.
SPEAKER_02I know, but it's just such a happy, positive show. I just love that show. You know, when I watched that show, Mickey watched that show, I didn't watch it. I love that show. And I had got COVID and I was stuck in that bedroom. No, I was stuck in the bedroom, and I was like, what am I gonna watch? And I started watching, I watched all the seasons all the way through. Just boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, all through COVID. It was fantastic. It's uplifting and it's coming back on August the 5th. And guess who's in it? My favourite.
SPEAKER_01Go on.
SPEAKER_02She's my favourite, Tracy Orman. Tracy Orman. Yes, yes. I don't know what she's playing, but she's got a weird wig on. She's got a weird wig on.
SPEAKER_01When you say favourite, don't you mean co-star?
SPEAKER_02Co-star. Okay.
SPEAKER_01Any way you want to say it. Tracy Orman. Favourite girl. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02There she is. Second thing I'm gonna say, babe, another positive. That's positive things coming in TV. This is another thing. Warner Brothers have just appointed Sean Baker, who did Anora. Did you see anora? The film? Okay, Sean Baker. I friggin' love him. He's director. I love his work. He's we went and saw him when he did Anora and he did a QA, and he spoke a lot on his influence in 70s movies, and you know how much I love 70s movies. Anyway, Warner Brothers have just made him like is it what what did he have a title of the film?
SPEAKER_00Well, they've created a new specialty division called Clockwork, and his film is the first one that's gonna be under that label.
SPEAKER_02Yes. So he's got like special specialty film, which is more sort of like independent films. So they're putting money into that bait, which is amazing. His first film that they're gonna release under this label, I should say, um, is called Tiamo, which means I love you in Italian, and it's based on like the sex comedies of the sort of 70s in Italy. 60s and do you remember like did you ever see maybe what were the Natalie Wood ones they had here?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, let me look that up.
SPEAKER_02Sex and the Single Girl in the 70s, and they had another one which was that Bob S Bob, Carol, Alice, and someone, and it wasn't Rita Sue and Bob 2, which was Bob and Carol and Ted and Alice. Bob and Carol and Ted and Alice, kind of a sex 70s comedy. So he's bringing that back. Not only is he bringing that back, he's bringing it back Italian, he's bringing it back 70s, and I'm just losing my mind over it all, babe. And he's bringing back, you know, putting money into uh into like small films, small documentaries. Nice. And we both like the idea of that one, babe.
SPEAKER_00Love it, love it. And it makes sense that they're choosing him because last year for Nora, he won that movie four Academy Awards.
SPEAKER_02Four Academy Awards, babe.
SPEAKER_00Best director, best writer, best editing, and best picture. It's amazing.
SPEAKER_02I mean, are you kidding me?
SPEAKER_01Tournament Academy Awards. Did you see that thing the other day where that guy who won the award took it on a plane and they told him not to in Germany? Did you hear about this?
SPEAKER_02No.
SPEAKER_01They the guy took his Oscar on a plane because he's taking it to a class, he wanted to show it. Okay. And they said, Oh, you can't check that because you you have to check it because you can't take it on as handle grid in case you use it as a weapon. So he checked it, got to the other end. Stolen.
SPEAKER_02No. Of course it's gone.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's back, they got it back. But for like two days it was missing.
SPEAKER_00Oh. Yeah, he's the guy who won for Mr. Nobody Against Putin.
SPEAKER_01Yes. Yeah, a point against Putin. Yeah, so that was his thing, yeah. Yeah, lost his Oscar.
SPEAKER_02Do you remember when we bought it?
SPEAKER_01Almost took Miami on a plane.
SPEAKER_02You did take your Emmy when we went to London. You took your Emmy on the plane.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I mean that that's a better weapon than a. What about in the hotel room?
SPEAKER_02You had to hide it or something. That was controversial.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Hiding an Emmy.
SPEAKER_01I hid. Yeah. I had to put it in the middle of the phone.
SPEAKER_02We'd lost it or something. We'd lost something.
SPEAKER_01I'd lost my phone. I lost my phone that I left my phone in a bar. No, in a taxi. I um but an Emmy's a much better weapon because those wings are. Oh, those wings.
SPEAKER_02You've got them, yeah. You'd have two, you'd have someone's eye out with both those. Bass books heavy.
SPEAKER_01You could club them with the bass and stab them with the wings, yeah. Oscar, Oscar Moska.
SPEAKER_02Kicking the you know where the nuts, and we're off. Yeah. Saved.
SPEAKER_00So there's been a dancing with the stars announcement, I think.
SPEAKER_01So Dance with the Stars. Oh, by the way, I went to the Dance with the Stars live tour today.
SPEAKER_02You said you were going last week. Is it good, babe?
SPEAKER_01It was really it's the first time I've been. It's been so Dance with the Stars, obviously, the show we work on the show. A separate company that has the licensing to do it takes a Dance with the Stars tour around the country, and they have a bunch of the dancers, and they usually bring in a couple of the celebrities. And they go around the tour, and it got extended. And I think they were in 93, they did 93 shows in something like 48 cities or something like that. It's crazy, it's insane.
SPEAKER_02It's a crazy schedule.
SPEAKER_01And they're almost done, they're not quite finished, but they had it at the uh the Dolby the other day where they, you know, had the Oscars, but not for much longer. And there was a bunch of us went all from the show. There was like Phil and everybody, and I went with Debbie. And it's the first one I've seen. It was really, really, really, really good. And it was packed, and people going mad. They filled it. This is but this, you know, I mean, you can imagine in small town where they don't have anything like that. This is LA. Oh, yeah. They filmed the Dolby.
SPEAKER_00Dancing is massive now. Massive.
SPEAKER_01They came out, you know, that there was all it was just full of like screaming people, and there was a line for merchandise that went like all the way around the lobby and up some stuff and down some stairs. It was like people were going crazy for it. And when the, you know, when the thing starts and the music starts and all that shit, and then they they open something, and there's the dancers, and it's like the ten pro dancers. It wasn't, you know, uh, and they were going mad and when they were announcing each one, Val being the I mean Val's lovely, but Val was like the last one they announced, and they were going crazy. But then they bring in, they did have Robert Irwin was on, and uh Andy Richter was kind of like almost like a host, but it was a massive being there on a lot of things, yeah. They've both done some of it, but not all of it. And um, but it was just insane, but it was really, really good. And although it's um the announcement that for season 35 hasn't been officially announced yet, they haven't announced two mates, yes, who are gonna be on it. So obviously it's happening, but uh yeah, and they are we're gonna.
SPEAKER_02I only know one, my favourite one, babe. Oh Fanny Flutters.
SPEAKER_01Fanny Flutters from Traitor.
SPEAKER_02Well the other one is Love Island. She wasn't a celebrity at that point. That's where she came through, Love Island. The other one who's been announced. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_01The other one who's been announced, Kiara or whatever, she was on traitors as well. But the one we old Fanny Flutters, that was the one that you were complaining about there at the start.
SPEAKER_02Because she got duped by old Rob and by Rob, which was happening to her on Love Island, same thing. Yeah, but I love her, Moira. Oh my god, she's the best.
SPEAKER_01And then they're doing the con, the dance with the stars con, which I had a meeting about yesterday as well. About the Dance with the Stars con.
SPEAKER_02Oh, is that the one in Palm Springs?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, in July. And uh very end of July, like last couple of days of July or something like that. But we're kind of getting ready to do some. Uh I had a meeting about it yesterday. I'm supposed to have a meeting about it on Monday, uh, as to what we're gonna try and do for that, because this is the first one and they want it to be big. Um, but uh, you know, so there's a lot of dance with the stars stuff going on. Now's a good time to thank our fans.
SPEAKER_02Yes, thank you everybody for subscribing. We've got new subscribers this week. We have. I've never subscribed to any of the things I watch. So I and I I know I'm that's terrible, and I'm gonna now. But we ask for it. But we ask for you to it's not. I know, but that's what I'm saying. I realise how important it is. So now I'm gonna do that for the people. Yeah, the podcast that you listen to. Thank you, everybody. Very good of you.
SPEAKER_00Please subscribe, please send in your viewers at two ginger gems on Instagram or two ginger gems at gmail.com. Yeah, thank you.
SPEAKER_02There you go.
SPEAKER_00Now let's talk about some music.
SPEAKER_02Oh my god, babe. Do you know the doors, the band The Doors? Yeah, of course I do. Okay, do you? Some people don't believe it or not, babe. We went to have you ever been to Whiskey Go Go?
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_02Okay. I went there only for a drink. I never was I've never been there to see a performance. I mean there was somebody performing when I went, but I was just at the bar. So we went and we saw Robbie Krieger, who is the guitar player from The Doors. There's only there's Robbie left and there's John Densmore, the drummer. Who was not there? But he was not there. How old's Robbie? 80. 80 and two and a half hours thrashed for like two and a half hours. Two and a half hours.
SPEAKER_00He was never took a seat.
SPEAKER_02Never took a seat.
SPEAKER_00Never took a drink of water.
SPEAKER_02He just was like cr he was brilliant. He was brilliant. It was br and we were in the whiskey gogo where the doors were kind of discovered. They completed, yeah.
SPEAKER_00They well Well, they started out at the London fog, which is just a few blocks down.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. And they the woman who was ru who runs Whiskey Gogo and still was there because she came on stage and spoke about it. And we were like, she's still actually working here. Um, but she said she was telling us the story about the everybody or the only reason she used to get new bands in there in this like 70s was it was late 60s, 70s, was when she heard other musicians talk about bands, not when people were saying, Oh, I like this band or whatever. Which when she heard when she'd hear a name of a band more than three or four times, then she'd start taking notice. Right. And she said she she kept hearing the doors, the doors, the doors from other musicians, and then they were playing up the road four blocks away, which was like called London Fog, it's not there anymore. Um, and she went up there and she watched them play and she was just like, Oh my god. And she gave them a book, yeah. Get them both. And she booked them as the house band.
SPEAKER_001966.
SPEAKER_021966. Yeah. As the house band, they were the house band at the whiskey house.
SPEAKER_01How old was this woman then? You must have wheeled her in.
SPEAKER_02Oh no, she was a babe. She's about this high, which is very small, everyone. She's about one shade. She was tiny, and she was like, nothing wrong with her at all. They're all eight Robbie was 80, and he's on that guitar for two and a half hours, babe. It was unbelievable. Anyway, it was unbelievable. We watched him at like what he's eighty, isn't he now? Yeah, he must have run like eight miles on that stage. When we went and saw the Rolling Stones. He did not stop. He just was like up and down. He made me exhausted watching him. Anyway, if you want to go and see him, he's there every month. Also, the the opening band was, if you know the Doors Ray uh Manzaric. Manzarek, who was the keyboarder, he was his son was playing. Pablo. Pablo opened, and he did his music, which is more kind of what would you do? Yeah, I don't know.
SPEAKER_00It was like electronica, sort of like smooth electronica, or so I don't know. It's kind of weird fusion type thing.
SPEAKER_02That's what his and his son opens for instead of.
SPEAKER_00Uh London Fog is now Chato's barber shop on the Sunset Strip. There you go. Nice.
SPEAKER_02There you go.
SPEAKER_00Let's talk about some TV.
SPEAKER_02Oh, tell me about this. Now I'm sitting back and just listening to this one because I haven't watched it. And I'm watching it, but I'm I I want to know what happened.
SPEAKER_01So last week I mentioned I'm a celebrity in England. Yep. And it finished last Friday. And it's all the all-stars from previous seasons, all back, they did the thing. They get to the finale and they they shot the whole thing in for South Africa last year, but they all came back to England to shoot the finale last Friday live. And so they have a live thing on stage, a bit like Survivor, where they all come back and do a live announcement of the winner. Yeah. And it all kicked off. And there was a challenge out there back when they were out there where the losing two people, the people who came last, were eliminated. And they started the challenge, and one of the guys, footballer, Bullard, Jimmy Bullard, he just quit. And he just, with no announcement, just said, I quit. But it's like I'm a celebrity to get me out of here. So his partner in it, Adam Thomas, who was an actor, a young actor, was furious because he was like, Well, why if you're gonna quit, why don't you just quit before you wrote me into it? Because that Jimmy Bullard quitting meant that he was eliminated also. So it all kicked off there and then, back in you know, when they shot this thing, uh, they had a vote amongst the teams who were there and said, Well, it's not really fair on Adam, we should keep him on. So they did. So now, fast forward to the live finale, Adam's in the final, and uh, but all the people are there, and they're saying, So, do you think Adam's a worthy winner? Do you think he should win? Do you think they were saying, Yeah, yeah. Well, then Jimmy Bullard, the soccer player, the footballer, and David Hay, the boxer, yeah, they start on him. He's not worthy, he shouldn't have won, he shouldn't have done this, he should, he was swearing the what he said, he was threatening, he shouldn't have used the C word and all that. So they were like, Okay, and they calmed it down, got a commercial, come back, kicked off, kicks off again, and it's live. And Ant and Deck, the two hosts that Mickey likes, they are there trying to calm it down. So now they're attacking them. Well, you edited it, you edited it, and they said, Well, we couldn't deck, they're attacking Ant and Deck.
SPEAKER_02And he's saying, Well, you couldn't show this, clips of this and link it.
SPEAKER_01You couldn't show this because the language was unbroadcastable. We showed what we could, so then they start at them, and then David, hey, the box is getting all aggro.
SPEAKER_00Oh, you don't want to aggropate. And in the end, Deck, he was particularly like not a super nice guy. Not a super nice guy, anyway.
SPEAKER_01So then Dek, the you know, the host, he's saying, like, you weren't even there. So it's because he'd gone, David Hay was out by that point.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, of course.
SPEAKER_01So then it just all kicks off. So then people start walking off the set, there's everyone's booing, there's all this thing, it all kicks off on it. So they throw it. Torture through a commercial, they come back, they announce the winner, it's the most dead finale ever. And you've got people there trying, yay, yay, and they won't admit it's you can it's everybody's pissed off. Everybody's pissed off, and then the funny thing is, then they end the show, like, thank you very much for watching, and it's everyone's furious. That people who walked off stage never came back. Then they go straight into an after show, and you can see this host comes on who's like, Here we are on the after show. It just happened. You were just on the stage where they just announced a winning. They go to Ant and Deck, Ant and Deck are furious, and they're trying to be professional, but you can tell they're just living.
SPEAKER_00Stephen.
SPEAKER_01The the people who had the fight, they've gone, and now they're suing ITV for misrepresentation. It's a whole thing. Very disappointing. Oh, yeah, very frustrating.
SPEAKER_02But great TV. Great TV. Okay. Great TV.
SPEAKER_00Into movies.
SPEAKER_02Well, I saw Devil Wears Pride 2. I saw it. And and um Marks out of ten. Marks out of ten, I would give it, I'd give it like seven, seven, seven, I'd give it a seven.
SPEAKER_01Does that sound like a stretch? It sounded like a five stretch into a seven.
SPEAKER_02It's is I'll tell you what, it's good. The fashion is fantastic. All good. The they're in New York, beautifully, you know, shot. They do it, they it's like you're in New York with the. This sounds like a stretch. They go to Milan. Milan is beautiful. We're not near the plot. The story isn't, yeah, the plot is a bit sort of, yeah. You can kind of guess what the plot is as soon as it starts, and you you're gonna, okay, this is the plot. And you know what's gonna happen at the end, you know how it's gonna anyway. But can I just say, yes, fashion was great. I tell you who looks amazing. Amazing. Meryl Streep. Yeah, she looks stunning. And the clothes they're putting on her, I mean, she's just she's so bloody good. I mean, thank God for Meryl Streep in that movie. But yes, but I'd say, yeah, I mean, it's a good, it's a bit of fun, go, have a laugh, you know. But it, you know, it's not gonna be winning any Oscars or anything. Talking about that, we've got the Met Gala coming up. Oh, great. Which actually, when this goes out on Tuesday, it will be the day before we film earlier here. So we'll talk about that maybe later on, but yeah, but I think she's gonna be there at Merrill Street.
SPEAKER_01Oh, really? Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I think she's gonna be there, babe. Yeah. Um, yeah, so yeah. Uh you know, I don't want to be a Debbie Downer on it, but yeah. I would just say, yeah, it's a bit of fun, but you know, no cigar.
SPEAKER_00Well, classic movie then. I think that we there's a fashion lead in there.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, actually, straight back same with the fashion. They're doing a series of Edith Head, who was a very famous costume designer, um, in like hot the golden era of Hollywood. So it was like, let me think of the movies. Well, the f the movie we saw was Funny Face, and they're doing a series at Soha House. So you go there and you will you're watching the films dedicated to Edith Head, and we saw Funny Face again. Another book is about fashion. Uh Fredstair pays uh fashion photographer. Audrey Hepburn plays a girl working in a bookshop who he meets, and then he wants to turn her into a fashion model, and they go to Paris, and it's just a beautiful, beautiful movie, and it's singing and it's dancing and it's everything. All the things that you're doing. Yeah, Edith Head is unbelievable. She did um All About Eve, which we talked about in the first one. She did Sunset Boulevard, she did Sweet Charity, one of my favourites with um Shelley McLean.
SPEAKER_01You know what? I was I don't know what made me think of this the other day, but have you ever seen The Bridge Over the River Choir?
SPEAKER_02Yes, I have seen it years and years ago.
SPEAKER_01I saw it years and years ago, and something made me think about it the other day, and I was like, you know what? I need to find it and watch it because I remember that is that's a proper good Sunday afternoon kind of movie that you'd watch. And I don't know why, but I've it's got it in my head that I have to watch that movie. And so I'm gonna watch it this week and I'll let you know.
SPEAKER_02I'll be able to tell you, my one of my teachers from Lee Strasbourg, acting teachers, is in it. Oh really? Yeah, I remember his name's Jeffrey something. But he was no, I wish.
SPEAKER_01No, but it was Alec Guinness who was in it.
SPEAKER_02Oh, I thought you were saying was it? Yeah, I wish Alec Guinness would be my uh my acting teacher.
SPEAKER_00Oh, Jeffrey Holm?
SPEAKER_02No, Jeffrey, no, I remember it. I remember it and put it in. Put a picture of him in. But that's who he used to always say I was in Brigitte.
SPEAKER_01Is it Brigano or Brighton?
SPEAKER_02And we were and we were like, oh my god, as soon as we knew that, we all watched it, and that's the last time I saw actually, because we were looking for him. Oh, right. That was like, well, quite a few years ago. Do we have a moaning mini today?
SPEAKER_01Oh, yes.
SPEAKER_02We do, we do. Okay, right. Let me put the clock on because this was a very popular last week, babe. It was. Everybody seems to it seem to enjoy you moaning for one minute. Do you know why?
SPEAKER_01Because it was only a minute and it's really long. I was gonna say that I'm gonna be able to do that.
SPEAKER_02I think they liked it because usually you moan for a lot longer. Yeah. And say, oh, now I've got you on a clock. Everybody was like, yeah, let him moan for a minute.
SPEAKER_01And then call it good.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and we're only if you only have a minute, you you come across a little sort of uh Ricky Gervais. Go!
SPEAKER_01Inconsiderate people. What pisses me off? What pisses me off, yeah, you were like to say, what pisses me off is people who don't consider anybody else with their actions. And it's not hard to do things considering other people, but they don't anyway. A prime example idiots who park in more than take up more than one parking space. Oh, okay. Or park an SUV in a in a compact spot.
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_01And they just don't consider the fact that, like, you know, well, I'm gonna take two spaces that, you know. The people who um leave those uh the those stupid scooters. People leave them if they want to use them fine. Leave them in the middle of a crosswalk. You walk in a not a crosswalk, a sidewalk. You're walking down a sidewalk and you're having to step over a scooter because someone just can't be bothered to just put it to one side. And it's just they know people just don't consider other people. They're done with their thing, I'm alright, Jack. Leave the scooter, walk away, or park the car, walk away, or leave a shopping trolley in a parking space, walk away. They do their thing, they only care about themselves and they don't consider other people. And I think it's really, really lame.
SPEAKER_02Right? We yeah, we're gonna say here whether it's gonna be fair point or pointless, and we will put up a poll. Fair point, Eddie? Mickey? Fair point, Kate, speaking of myself.
SPEAKER_01Kate?
SPEAKER_02Fair point.
SPEAKER_01Unanimous.
SPEAKER_02Unanimous, inconsiderate people.
SPEAKER_01You get that.
SPEAKER_02Inconsiderate people, our souls. Our souls.
SPEAKER_01Alright.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna do you know what I'm gonna tell you about, babe? I'm torn to tell people about this. Because it's you know, it's a bit of a secret, and when I let it out, it's gonna mess up with me. There is this place in Malibu. Right, babe, was you say what it's called because you have a better accent than me.
SPEAKER_00Casita Vasqueria.
SPEAKER_02Casita Vasqueria.
SPEAKER_00You're right.
SPEAKER_02And it's um it's in Malibu, so uh it's called Surf Canyon, it's behind the what do you call that sort of shopping area there? Has that got a name? Malibu Mart or something?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I don't know what the whole area is, but the little area where it is is Surf Canyon.
SPEAKER_02Surf Canyon. So it's Malibu, Surf Canyon. There's this little shop, babe, and it does a sandwich. It does one sandwich, it does it every day. It's either going to be chicken, beef, pork, you're not, you've got no choice, it's gonna be just one of them. They open at 11, and they say the sandwiches go to one about 1.30, and then they're sold out.
SPEAKER_01And when they're gone, they're gone.
SPEAKER_02We can confirm otherwise. We can confirm they don't last anywhere near 1.30. We went there and we were there just before it opened, and we were right at the back of the queue.
SPEAKER_00It's already a long line.
SPEAKER_02Already a bloody queue. And we got to the front, but probably took half an hour to get to the front of the queue. We got our sandwich, sat down, edit, and then it was like everybody coming over going, oh, it's out they finished, they finished. And it wasn't even 12 o'clock, was it, babe? Wasn't even 12 o'clock.
SPEAKER_00No, no, it was sold out in about 45 minutes.
SPEAKER_02It was sold out in about 45 minutes. But damn, was it delicious? My god.
SPEAKER_01What was it? What was it?
SPEAKER_02That was so good. It's basically the bread.
SPEAKER_01What was it the day you had it?
SPEAKER_02Um it was steak, yeah. Steak, steak the day we had it. But the bread is is Spanish, um, it's like a Spanish.
SPEAKER_00It's sort of like a Spanish chimbada almost, but not really.
SPEAKER_02And they get the they get the pay, they get the flour and everything from Spain, so they make it there, the bread, and it is babe.
SPEAKER_00Good. Oh some peppers, some Ioli. Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_02Oh my god, it's yeah, it's unbelievable. So if you want to do that.
SPEAKER_00Saturday is super busy, not sure what it's like on the weekends.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, apparently it's the same.
SPEAKER_00Don't go on Saturdays because that's when we'd like to go.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, don't go on a Saturday. Exactly. But yeah, I'm giving you a little secret, secret sandwich place there. But yeah, really, really good. We'll we'll link it so you'll know where to go. Who made the gem card?
SPEAKER_01Who made the gem card? I'm gonna go with The King.
SPEAKER_02The King absolutely makes the Gem Card, thousand percent. I'm gonna sit Warner Brothers in there for creating the um you know specialized film section.
SPEAKER_01Um I'll give the Dance with the Stars live show uh an ad. I will put that in, and I will also say uh Dina Katz, who casts Dance with the Stars, because Maura Higgins is quite a good one.
SPEAKER_02Oh no, Dina deserves like a kiss and a hug for all this. So that's our shout-out.
SPEAKER_00Shout out to Dina Katz.
SPEAKER_01Shout out to Dina Katz.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, put Dina, yes, Dina's casting.
SPEAKER_01Dina does the casting on Dance with the Stars.
SPEAKER_02Yes. So she gets a shout-up for being so great at here. And getting Moira's just made my day. Getting Moira, babe. Yeah. Um Robbie Krieger of the Doors, Whiskey Go-Go. And Whisky Go-Go, babe. Such a cute place, small but not crazy.
SPEAKER_00Intimate. Oh, I would have would I oh I would have loved to see Guns and Roses there back in the day.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, well, I think it would have probably been a little bit more wild there, babe, than it was the oven. And then our sandwich place, which is A La Casita Vasqueria. Roll has pull a card, babe. Oh now, please, God.
SPEAKER_01Are we doing this? If we're doing this to Shane Let's Do Better, I'm gonna go with Jimmy Jimmy Bullard on a celebrity. But most people aren't gonna know who that is, but we might need to have anyone else.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna add David Hay to there. David's an awesome anyway.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. But uh yeah, so uh check it out. I'm a celebrity.
SPEAKER_02Do you know what, babe? Pick a card.
SPEAKER_01Oh I'm picking a card.
SPEAKER_00Oh, this is something new.
SPEAKER_02Pick a card, pick a card. I keep saying that. I'm gonna pick the wrong one. I'm gonna pick the wrong one. I'm gonna say that I need to do better. It's not, it's not, you can't pick a wrong one. Is it one we've had before?
SPEAKER_00Oh, no, it's not.
SPEAKER_02No, do you know what? James just picked a card and he picked the miser.
SPEAKER_01Oh, it is it is you. It is not me, babe. You picked this.
SPEAKER_02And this is like, this is, yeah, this is it looks like somebody dragged, to be honest, doesn't it? It doesn't it? The miser. Okay. Okay, it's not all negative. You feel like it might be a negative card, the miser. It's not, but you can see on the card, and we'll put it up again. They're like holding on to all their treasure, they're like grabbing onto everything. The tighter you hold on to things, you crush things. They don't, you've got to things need to be shared, things need to be put out into the world. So basically, stop holding on to all your gifts and your talents and let them out in the world. Stop thinking that you have to keep everything tight to your chest. But I'm gonna put this up because it's beautiful. The person is holding on to so many beautiful gifts, and they're not they're not showing, they're scared to show the world. See where this light is, where it's all the shines coming from, and then all the darkness over here.
SPEAKER_01So it's kind of like that.
SPEAKER_02Don't be don't be scared to show it. Yeah, you're being selfish.
SPEAKER_01Keeping all that stuff to yourself so other people don't see it.
SPEAKER_02Exactly, but don't show them. Shine your light, baby. Shine your light, shine your light. There you go.
SPEAKER_00All right, well, shine the light on the people and say thank you.
SPEAKER_02Thank you for listening, everyone.
SPEAKER_00Thank you very much.
SPEAKER_02Thank you.
SPEAKER_00See you next Tuesday.
