Greetings and welcome back to Praying for Them, Your God-fearing spouse. Thank you all for tuning in. Thank you all for listening. And I pray that you let your heart settle, amen, as we read through this episode of surrendering your future spouse. Today we're talking about something many of us deeply desire, but don't always prepare for the right way to ask God to help our future spouse, to surrender him or her to him. Amen. We truly have to relinquish control of what we think our spouses should be doing and acting and responding. We have to truly give them over to God and let God have his way within them. God is the one who transforms, God is the one that will break us down and mold us back together again. God is the one that can make us a better version of ourselves. Amen. Let us go to the Lord in prayer. Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, we come before you with open hearts. You know our desires. You know what we long for. You know the prayers we've whispered about love, marriage, and companionship. But today, oh God, we ask for alignment over emotion. Teach us how to prepare, not just expect. Teach us how to become and not just receive. Shape us into who you've called us to be. And God, we lift up our spouses to you right now, oh God. Wherever they are, whatever season they may be in, grow them, mature them, and draw them closer to you, oh God. Amen. Amen. Let's get into it. Let's be honest. It's easy to pray for a spouse. It's easy to ask God for love, for connection, for someone who understands you. It's easy to say, God, send me my person. But here's the real question: Are you really ready for the person you're asking God for? Because desire does not equal readiness. And this is something God had to show me. I was desiring, still desiring, but I'm not desiring anymore. But I was desiring then, but I wasn't fully ready. I thought I was ready. I thought because I wanted love, I was prepared for it. But God showed me something deeper. Wanting something and being able to sustain it are two completely different things. And that's where this truth comes in. God won't send what you're not ready to sustain. Amen. Because marriage is not just a blessing, it's a responsibility, it's a commitment, it's accountability, it's growth. It requires patience, discipline, sacrifice, and spiritual maturity. And if you're not ready, you can turn something beautiful into something broken. Not because God made a mistake, but because you weren't ready and prepared for it. So instead of constantly asking God, where are they? We have to start asking God, who am I becoming? Because I want to become who God wants me to be. Amen. I want to become the child that God created me to be from the beginning of time. Because while you're praying for them, your fruit spouse or your current spouse is praying for you too. And they're not just praying for anyone, they're praying for you. They're praying for your mental health, they're praying for your faithfulness, they're praying for you to be disciplined, they're praying for you to be a loving person, a kind person, a humble person. They're praying that you have patience and that you are obedient to God. So the real question is, my brothers and my sisters, are you becoming that person? Are you becoming a person after God's own heart? God had to deal with me in this area so bad. He showed me my habits, my procrastination, my lack of discipline, my areas where I wasn't fully surrendering, and he made it clear. I'm not bringing you your husband until this version of you has changed. He wasn't punishing me, and I get that. Because I know I've been changed. I know I could see a different version of me that's better than who I was then, right? Because God loves us so much. He will send someone in our life that will compliment us, right? But God is not going to send them if we're not fully ready to receive them. Amen. And I thank God for seasons. I thank God for growth. And this season you're in right now, it's not delay, it's development. God is shaping you, teaching you how to communicate, not to fly off the handle, not to get angry and just lash out. Because I was that person where I didn't lash out, but I could be wrong, but I'm gonna keep on orging because I'm gonna get the final say. Because I'm not gonna let you know that you were right. But God, let me know, it's not about being right, it's about being true, it's about being real. And that's what I had to learn. God taught me how to communicate, He taught me how to be patient, He taught me how to love the right way. Amen. Because marriage is not about completing you, it's about connecting two whole people who are already rooted in God. Amen. You cannot expect someone to lead you spiritually if you're not submitted to God yourself. You cannot expect accountability if you resist correction. You cannot expect a God-friendly spouse if you're not living a God-centered life, amen. And I'm not saying that God don't grow you all when you are together, amen. My cousin, and she've been married for 20 plus years. When her her and her husband got together, like he knows God, he's reading the word and everything, but she was going to church faithfully. I want you to go, I want you to go. But God told her, I'm working on him while I work on you. And now, her husband, when I tell you, a powerhouse for the Lord, you hear me? God knows how to bring people together in different seasons and mold them together to grow together. Amen. And they are a powerhouse for their church, they're a powerhouse in their community, they are a powerhouse for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. So this is why we have to truly surrender to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I want you to know this. When you truly let God in and you truly surrender, God will prepare you for who he has for you and make you better for the person that you have right now. It might take some time, it might require change, it might even feel uncomfortable. But I want you to know God is not just working on you, He's working on them too. So right now, your spouse is in their own process of growing, learning, being corrected, being shaped. God is aligning you both at the same time. So instead of rushing the process, trust it. Because when God brings you together, it won't be forced, it will be aligned. Amen. And you'll be able to look at each other and know God prepared us for this. God was working on us in our own season and made us such a beautiful couple for Him. Amen. Let us go to the Lord in prayer. Honey Father, we surrender our desires to you right now. Not just the outcome but the process. Prepare us for what we are asking for, oh God. Develop our character, strengthen our discipline, deepen our relationship with you, oh God. Make us into the person our future spouse, our current spouse is praying for, oh God. And God, we lift up our spouse to you right now. Cover them, protect them, grow them all in your name, oh God. Teach them all about obedience on a higher level. Teach them about faith on a higher level. Teach them about your love, oh God, on a higher level. Align us, oh God, according to your will and your perfect timing. We trust you, oh God, with our future. We trust you, oh God, with the love of our life. We trust you, oh God, with our family, with our friends, with our job. God, we trust you in this very moment with our future. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Keep praying, keep fasting, and keep believing. And always remember that God is working on you too. Until tomorrow, have a blessed day. And we will talk about purification season tomorrow. Thank you for tuning in to praying for them, your God fearing spouse.
