Good afternoon, good afternoon, good afternoon. Welcome back to Praying for Them, your God friend spouse. This is episode eight. We got two more to close out chapter three before we get to chapter four. And today we're going to be talking about obedience before the blessings. Amen. We thank you all for tuning in. I want you to take a deep breath as always and just be present right now. We are asking the Lord to be present too, amen. Because today we're talking about something that will challenge you, but also grow you. We're talking about obedience. Let us go to the Lord in prayer. We come before you with surrendered hearts, oh God. Teach us how to obey you, not just when it's easy, but when it's difficult, oh God. Not just when we understand, but even when we don't. Strengthen us, oh God, to follow your voice above our feelings. And Heavenly Father, we lift up our spouse to you right now. Shape them in obedience as you are shaping us. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Amen. Obedience is one of those words, let me tell you, that sounds simple until God asks you to actually live it, right? Because obedience is not just about knowing what God said, it's about doing what God said. Even when it doesn't make sense, even when it's inconvenient, even when it stretches you. And this is where a lot of people struggle because we like the ideal of blessings. We like answered prayers, we like breakthroughs, but we don't always like the process that leads to them. Amen. Obedience is the bridge between surrender and blessing, and you cannot skip it, right? I want you to understand something deeply today. Delayed obedience is still disobedience. That's not condemnation, that's clarity. Because sometimes God speaks and we hesitate, we overthink, we wait for confirmation after confirmation when God already spoke the first time. And what we call waiting on clarity is often just delayed obedience. Right? So I delayed, I justified, I questioned, I told myself I was processing. But deep down I already knew. And what I learned is this obedience is not about convenience, it's about trust. Trusting that God sees what you cannot see, trusting that his instructions are leading you somewhere better, trusting that even if it feels uncomfortable, it is still correct. Because God is not just trying to bless you, he's trying to build you up. And obedience is part of that building process, right? Some of you listening right now, God has already been speaking to you about letting something go, about changing something, about stepping away from something, about stepping into something, right? And if you've been feeling it, that tug, that conviction, that inner knowing, that's not confusion, that's direction. But obedience requires a response, right? Not just acknowledgement, not just agreement, a response. Because God is not just after what you believe, he's after how you move. And here's the part that connects to surrender. You cannot fully surrender without obedience, right? Because surrender says, God, I trust you. But obedience says, God, I will follow you. One is eternal, the other is action, and we need both. Let me show you something through the words I'm about to say. Because this is where transformation happens. Obedience will sometimes separate you from what you used to be and who you used to who you used to be, right? Sorry, I'm double telling myself I need some water. Um, but obedience will sometimes pull you out of comfort, will pull you out of challenging times, it will strengthen your faith to stretch your faith, right? And it requires sacrifice, and that's why many people resist because of what it feels like, right? Because obedience will cost you something. When you are obedient to God, it costs you everything because you can't hang with the people like you used to hang. You can't go to the clubs like you used to go, you can't do all the things you want to do when God calls you to do something else. You have to follow God's ways before you can follow your own, right? But disobedience will cost you more when you are disobedient, and what God is trying to give you right now is worth more than what you're afraid to lose. Amen. I'm not saying God, I want you to have the beauties of life and to hang with your friends and stuff, but we have to make sure that our plans are in alignment with God's will, right? We have to make sure that we're not putting things before God. We have to make sure that we're giving God our all-in-all. God is not asking you to obey Him to control you, He's asking you to obey Him to protect you, to align you, to prepare you, to position you, right? Because every act of obedience is building the version of you that your future needs, your marriage needs, your spouse needs, your purpose needs, your next season needs. So let God build you up to a better version of yourself. Amen. Let us go to the Lord in prayer. Honey Father, we choose you today. Oh God, we choose you every single day. And today we choose to be obedient to you today, oh God. Even when it's hard, even when it stretches us, even when it challenges our understanding, oh God. Give us the courage to respond quickly to your voice, oh God. Help us not to delay what you're clearly instructing us to do, oh God. And lift us up with our spouses, whether it's our future spouse or our current spouse, oh God. Train us in obedience, train us in following your word, train us to do what thus says the Lord. Let us both be people who will follow you fully, who will be obedient to you fully without hesitation, oh God. Honey Father, align our lives to your will and your way, align our thoughts to your thoughts, align our speech to your talking, align our hearing to your hearing, align our life, oh God, to your will, Honey Father. God, we thank you for this moment. We thank you for recovery. We thank you for peace. We thank you, oh God, for unity. It is your darling son, Jesus Christ's name. We pray. Amen. Thank you all for tuning in once again. Keep on praying, keep on believing and keep on hoping. Because God is changing things around for our good. God is still preparing us, He is still transforming us. And I thank God for the transformation, not just for me and you, but for our spouses. Until the next time, which is tomorrow, we'll be in episode nine, talking about God will remove what doesn't belong. Amen. Releasing grief, releasing self selfishness, releasing the things that's not like him. So until tomorrow, have a blessed day, and I will speak to you all again soon.
