SPEAKER_01

Everyone, welcome to the Aussie Rules Fritty for Kids podcast round one preview. Last week in round zero, to kick the season off, it was Sydney versus Carlton. Sydney won by 63 points. Charlie Kerner got three goals. McArnie got 31 disposals and three goals in that guy. Carlton kicked six goals to 18 after half time, and Carlton had a really big fade out.

SPEAKER_00

Similar to what happened last year, wasn't it, Max?

SPEAKER_01

Yep.

SPEAKER_00

And in the second game of round zero, Gold Coast versus Geelong, Gold Coast won by 56 points, where Christian Petrarca in his first game for the Suns had 34 touches and three goals. Bailey Humphrey kicked four goals and Ollie Dempsey kicked four goals for Geelong. Gold Coast looked good, didn't they?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, really good.

SPEAKER_00

The scenes were improved from last year.

SPEAKER_01

Yep.

SPEAKER_00

Next game?

SPEAKER_01

The next game is GWS versus Hawks. GWS by 27. Stringer kicks five goals. Gunson kicks four goals. Whip um Lockie Whitfield got the most touches for GWS with 27.

SPEAKER_00

The Hawks were a bit disappointing on the weekend, weren't they?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Did you see the picture of Sam Mitchell after halftime with a bit of blood on his knuckles?

SPEAKER_01

Yes, we will put that in the git in the sub in the subscription of the podcast so you guys can see as well.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, sounds good. And there we have Brisbane versus the Bulldogs. And I think that was the game of the round.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, mame. It was pretty good.

SPEAKER_00

Close all night. Bulldogs got over the line by five points. Four goals to Charlie Cameron. And guess what?

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

Oscar Allen has taken his losing streak to the Brisbane Lions.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so.

SPEAKER_00

Not a good start for Oscar.

SPEAKER_01

He thought it was going to be better in Brisbane.

SPEAKER_00

But it hasn't worked out.

SPEAKER_01

Hasn't worked out yet. Bulldogs would hope they win the season more.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, Bulldogs would have lost that game last year, so they've seem to have improved as well.

SPEAKER_01

Definitely.

SPEAKER_00

And the last game, Saints versus the Collingwood Magpies.

SPEAKER_01

The Magpies win by 12 points. Nick Dacos with an impressive 41 disposals. Jordan DeGowie.

SPEAKER_00

Wait, is that Jordan Degoi, yep?

SPEAKER_01

Jordan Jordan DeGowie with 36 touches.

SPEAKER_00

Oh sorry, that was Josh Dacos with 36 touches.

SPEAKER_01

Josh Dacos got 36 touches.

SPEAKER_00

Jordan DeGowie got three goals.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And Asia Wangaline Maneira got 19 touches.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Saints had their chances to win but couldn't get over the line.

SPEAKER_01

Nope.

SPEAKER_00

Collingwood came to play that and took their chances. Now we'll look forward to round one. And how did the tips end up for the week, Max?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they ended up pretty well. Three points to both of us.

SPEAKER_00

Well looking forward to round one.

SPEAKER_01

And to round one. The round one games are Carlton versus Richmond. Carlton didn't look so strong um to the first game. But can Richmond improve from last year and do really well?

SPEAKER_00

Interesting to see if Carlton can play four quarters of football for this week.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they couldn't really. They only played a half of it, really.

SPEAKER_00

Last week, I know.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

The next game, Essendon versus Hawthorne. Can Hawthorne bounce back from their first game loss?

SPEAKER_01

It's it was only a bit. It's one of the close it was the third closest game of the round zero. So yeah, they probably could against Essendon.

SPEAKER_00

And what the game maybe of the round? Western Bulldogs versus GWS.

SPEAKER_01

That one's gonna be great. Um yeah, GWS losing one player for the rest of the season, Tom Green. But yeah, Bulldogs could win if they play really well.

SPEAKER_00

Next game is GWS and Fremantle Dockers. I heard a rumour, Max, that the Fremantle Dockers have. What did I say?

SPEAKER_01

It's Geelong.

SPEAKER_00

What did I say? Oh Geelong versus Fremantle. Haha, I got that wrong, didn't we? Anyway, I was too excited about my rumour. I've heard Fremantle uh put signs in their club rooms to say we could be immortals and they could win the first grand final for the Fremantle Dockers, and they'll be known as the first premiership players down by the wholf. So who do you think will win Geelong versus Fremantle?

SPEAKER_01

Well, as lots of the podcast people know, me and my dad are Eagle supporters, very big Eagle supporters. We would like to tip Geelong, but that's not what tipping's about. So we don't know. We'll tell you at the end of the pod, but yeah, it's gonna be a really good game to watch, especially at GMHBA. Anything can happen.

SPEAKER_00

Alright, next game, Sydney versus Brisbane.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's gonna be a really good one. That one's a real good match. It's a good matchup, those two. They both are really good teams, and I think they'll work well against each other. It'll be a really tight game, I think.

SPEAKER_00

We'll see if Brisbane can hold form and Sydney can continue to play well. Collinwood versus Adelaide. They played some great games at the MCG the last few years.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

That should be a cracker.

SPEAKER_01

Um, I don't know if any podcast people remember, but they did an indigenous round clash last year. It was so good. Colliewood just got the edge by I think about five points.

SPEAKER_00

But they've been all the had a lot of close games, those two teams.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they're both really good teams.

SPEAKER_00

And next game, North Melbourne versus Port Adelaide.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Port Adelaide looked good against the Eagles in the practice game.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they did. So Port Adelaide could win, but I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

And then we've got Melbourne and St Kilda.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

A game, who knows, but to be St Kilda should win. And then but we've got the real big game next to the last one. Last game of the round to really finish the round off. Gold Coast Suns versus the West Coast Eagles. How exciting is that game gonna be?

SPEAKER_01

It's gonna be really exciting because Eagles last year were winning the practice games, but losing the season games. So this year me and my dad hoped they could turn that around.

SPEAKER_00

So lose the practice games and win the season games.

SPEAKER_01

Correct.

SPEAKER_00

After watching Gold Coast play last week, it's gonna be mighty hard for the Eagles to win.

SPEAKER_01

Pretty true.

SPEAKER_00

But we can always hope.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

Alright, put your tips in, Max. Who do you think?

SPEAKER_01

Let's go into the tip. I tip Carlton for Carlton versus Richmond.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I'll go Carlton too.

SPEAKER_01

I tip Hawthorne for Essence and Hawthorne.

SPEAKER_00

Same as me.

SPEAKER_01

I tip GWS for GWS Bulldogs.

SPEAKER_00

I'm picking the Bulldogs.

SPEAKER_01

I I tip Geelong.

SPEAKER_00

I'm tipping Fremantle for all my sins.

SPEAKER_01

I'm tipping Brisbane against Sidney.

SPEAKER_00

I'm picking Brisbane as well.

SPEAKER_01

I'm picking I'm picking Adelaide.

SPEAKER_00

I'm picking Adelaide too to beat Collingwood.

SPEAKER_01

I'm picking Port Adelaide.

SPEAKER_00

Same here, I'm picking Port Adelaide to beat North.

SPEAKER_01

I'm picking Saints to beat Melbourne.

SPEAKER_00

Same with me and Gold Coast versus the Eagles.

SPEAKER_01

I'm picking Gold Coast. I'm sad though.

SPEAKER_00

I will pick Gold Coast as well, but let's hope the Eagles can put in a good fight.

SPEAKER_01

It would be good to see them win, but not for their tips. Okay, guys, that's a wrap for this week. See you next time. Bye.

SPEAKER_00

Thanks for listening.
