SPEAKER_01

And I'm here with my dad mouth and everything with the one game that both means for the time to do the biggest model's gonna go and write and the windows and everything in between classes and looking here for the ways and that time. So I'm not gonna predict and both dynamic and along the line. Whether you're a dumb mouse or pull up, or just already go down and you're in the line. Let's get into the podcast.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, Max. How good was the first work of Indigenous rounds?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it was pretty good. Eagles caused an upset, Dockers continue to win, but now we should we should really get into stories in Siren, where we break down the wheat that was diving into the biggest moments, the wins and the losses. So the first game it had Fremantle Essendon. Fremantle won. But Fremantle extended the winning streak.

SPEAKER_00

They broke a club record, I think.

SPEAKER_01

No, the club records next week.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, so they've equaled the club record in terms of wins in a row.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. I think they could do I think they could do it double, really.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so they were pretty good against the bombers, weren't they?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they were pretty good.

SPEAKER_00

Paddy Boski five goals against his old team.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, he was pretty good.

SPEAKER_00

Lots of question marks on the bombers now as well.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I don't know how they'll do in our next week.

SPEAKER_00

Alright, next game was St Kilda versus Richmond, and St Kilda got the win pretty comfortably there. They continue to move the bullet ball well. Richmond, unfortunately, I think got a couple more injuries. They're nearly at the stage, Richmond, that they've got so many injuries, they might have to bring some VFL players into the team.

SPEAKER_01

Oh wow.

SPEAKER_00

So they had 18 on their list going into the weekend. And I think they might have another one or two. So it's touch and go.

SPEAKER_01

Now we've got Adelaide North Melbourne. That Adelaide came away comfortably at Adelaide Oval.

SPEAKER_00

I picked both that game. I thought that would have been a bit better.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I know, but it is at Adelaide's home.

SPEAKER_00

They kicked 10 goals in a row in the second quarter to blow the game right open.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. That was incredible when they did. They nearly got more goals in the second quarter than the whole team.

SPEAKER_00

Correct.

SPEAKER_01

So Adelaide, they played well. Ida Kraken, Jordan Dawson, Joshua Shelley, they played really well in the forward half. Yeah, they were some of the best players on ground, I think.

SPEAKER_00

And then we got Melbourne versus Hawthorne. Bit of an upset here when Melbourne got the Chuckies, winning by 40 points. They outworked Hawthorne all day. It was really impressive performance by Melbourne. And now again, a few question marks on Hawthorne. Are they the real deal?

SPEAKER_01

Maybe. I don't know. Melbourne, they've been playing not badly. Hawthorne, they definitely should have won that game. I think Melbourne, they played a bit better. They definitely can play better Hawks.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, Hawks can hopefully play better.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, they got hopefully Tom Barras to come back in soon. Will Day to come back in soon.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Maybe Gunstan. So a couple of ins and hopefully they can find some form.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. We had Carlton Bulldogs. Carlton Bluffett cook up his upset against the Bulldogs.

SPEAKER_00

My theory worked. New coach, first win.

SPEAKER_01

Josh Fraser, he must have way better tactics than Fossey. But Patty Cripps, he played well in that final quarter.

SPEAKER_00

He did big last quarter for Patrick Cripps to get him over the line against the Bulldogs.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Bulldogs, they've been playing good.

SPEAKER_00

The rumour is with the Bulldogs, I heard during the week, that Bontom Pelle has an MCL knee injury. And if they do if the Bulldogs can't win the next few games, they might say to the Bont, Alright, have a rest of the season because that knee might get too bad.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So we'll see how the next few weeks go for the Bulldogs.

SPEAKER_01

They need Well, sad that they don't have Darcy.

SPEAKER_00

And they've got a few injuries already, don't they?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, a few injuries that.

SPEAKER_00

Libertore.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, Libertore. They're putting the team down, so it's very unlikely for them to play finals. Play finals, or at least get wildcard rounds. If they play better, they'll get wild card round, but I don't think they will.

SPEAKER_00

And then we got Gold Coast versus Adelaide. Uh Port Adelaide in Darwin. Gold Coast continue to win again up in Darwin, and that's 10 wins in a row for them.

SPEAKER_01

That's pretty incredible.

SPEAKER_00

Nora Anderson, Matt Rao, Overwell, and Port Adelaide at the Soppages. I think the final margin flattered Port Adelaide a bit because I think Gold Coast ran front by a few more points during the game.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

But they run out of leagues like everyone does up there.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, Port Adelaide. It's not like their home ground, they're like it's like right on top of them where they normally play, so not used to the hot weather. No, but Gold Coast, they play there normally.

SPEAKER_00

And then we've got Geelong versus the Brisbane Lions. This one's a bit of an upset. Geelong played well.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they did. Um they beat them. They came back the um they gave back the um finals premiership cup to them.

SPEAKER_00

Well they didn't give it up, it was just the premiership, the replay, wasn't it?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Geelong, they're the better team this year, so well for this game they were for sure. Yeah, definitely. They were the only team that got over a hundred and definitely played really well.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And then Sydney Swans versus Collingwood, a really close game. Collingwood are unluckily not a lot to win that, to be honest. They were cl in front all day. They kicked five behinds in the second quarter, but Sydney found a way to win. Isaac Heaney, um Gouldon was good. They had some really that was just solid Sydney to get back in the lead, but I'll give it to Collingwood. They should have won that poorly. Brady Grundy was impressive.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Did you see Craig McCray talk to Grundy on the sidelines?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. I think Sydney, they've been talking louder. It's at their home ground. They can win.

SPEAKER_00

They did win.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but they can, even if they lost, they can win more games than Collywood this year. Collywood could be.

SPEAKER_00

I wonder if Pendleby played this close game if they would have won.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

It might have made a difference.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Now I've got West Coast GWS. West Coast pulled off a win by 17 points.

SPEAKER_00

Probably the upset of the round.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, definitely. They came in $4.25 to one.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, we're talking odds, are we?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, too. They were the underdogs. They were so underdogs.

SPEAKER_00

And Minnie McGualter found his new home on the on the bench.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

To coach from.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Do you reckon he'll spend the season down there? The rest of the season?

SPEAKER_01

If they played well, he's probably going to.

SPEAKER_00

To find it hard to get back in the box.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

The Eagles were good though.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

How good was Harley Reed?

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god. 33 spocals, most in the game.

SPEAKER_00

Bailey Jack was impressive.

SPEAKER_01

Bailey Jack.

unknown

Josh.

SPEAKER_00

Josh Josh Lindsay got the nominee Rising Star Award. He was good at the back line.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, he was really good. Um Desma, not bad to that.

SPEAKER_00

Desma was good. It's good to get a win.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's good to get a win.

SPEAKER_00

Make the team feel good for all the hard work they're putting in.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Forecast. But we look up at the games ahead. The first game is Hawthorne versus Adelaide. Adelaide, they've been playing well. Hawthorne come in with a loss.

SPEAKER_00

They're playing in Tasmania on a Thursday night. It's gonna be cold.

SPEAKER_01

I remember having that a few years a few weeks.

SPEAKER_00

Last year they played in Adelaide, wasn't it? A really close game as well. Hawthorne came back, Adelaide were in front, and Hawthorne came back late.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, Hawthorne won that game. They did. It was around 20.

SPEAKER_00

It's a close game though. It was very cold, it was wet. So hopefully it's not that as bad now because it's not deep in not winter yet.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's not winter yet, but it still could be cold.

SPEAKER_00

Still could be cold. And then we've got Richmond versus Essendon. This is the dreamtime match at the G. Yeah. Both teams not winning many games of football at all. The build-up will be impressive. The atmosphere will be big. Do you think Essendon can win? They're playing pretty much a Richmond seconds team with all the injuries in there.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I mean Richmond, they're 18th. Essendon, they're 17th. This is gonna be the battle of the two last teams.

SPEAKER_00

Hopefully it's a game full of effort.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Whoever wins this, this must split down the bottom. Whoever wins this is going to be the upper team will be 17 this season.

SPEAKER_00

Good prediction. Yeah, you've got the Fremantle Dockers versus the St. Kilda Saints. Ross Lyon back in Perth coaching against his old team. Fremantle chasing the the record of club wins in a row.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but they've been playing well a lot. Just just you can't forget how they played against Carl. How they played against Carl.

SPEAKER_00

Well, Carlton nearly beat him. They played well, Carlton.

SPEAKER_01

Carlton nearly beat them.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I don't know. I don't think Saints forms up and down at the moment.

SPEAKER_01

Saints are about to team them up then Carlton. Carlton, so if Saints can get like three more goals.

SPEAKER_00

I think Saints' gotta make it a contest, a grind.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And hopefully get them on the rebound. They don't have Rangoline Malira. Yeah, that doesn't help.

SPEAKER_01

They've got North Gold Coast. Finally, Gold Coast don't play in Darwin. They should play well North Melbourne, they're home.

SPEAKER_00

Well, North Melbourne need a bounce back after Adelaide, right?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So they gotta find some form, show they can compete against the top team. But Gold Coast need to just again just chalk up another win.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And then we've got Geelong versus Sydney in Geelong. This could be another blockbuster of the round. Sydney's coming in for in good form, so are Geelong. Both teams are pretty fit, no injuries. So it could be a really close game and a good contest to really start to separate the top five of the ladder.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, top three, but top three blockbuster.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, for sure.

SPEAKER_01

Now I've got Collingwood West Coast, Scott Pendleby's record-breaking 433rd AFL game. He's gonna beat Boomer, Brent Harvey's record with 432. But it's not just that.

SPEAKER_00

He's gonna wear 12 jumpers during the game.

SPEAKER_01

Really?

SPEAKER_00

He's gonna swap his top 12 times, and that those jumpers are all gonna be auctioned off at the end.

SPEAKER_01

Oh. Um it's not.

SPEAKER_00

Don't you get any ideas? You've only got one West Coast junior football club Guernsey to wear this weekend.

SPEAKER_01

I know, that's incredible.

SPEAKER_00

You can't you can't swap during the game.

SPEAKER_01

I know. Um not just that big milestone, it's also Harley Reid's.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, so 90,000 people are coming to watch Harley Reid's 50th.

SPEAKER_01

Um not technically, I think some of them are coming for Scott Pro.

SPEAKER_00

Out of the 90,000, how many do you think are there to watch Harley Reed?

SPEAKER_01

About I'm gonna say 20,000.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, I reckon that's generous. I reckon out of the 90,000 people at that ground, 2,000 to 3,000 will be Eagles supporters. Imagine the noise. It's gonna be loud.

SPEAKER_01

It's definitely going to be. But Eagles arrived with confidence. They've been playing well. Um, they should beat Richmond.

SPEAKER_00

We're coming off a win, we're coming with our backs against the wall, we've got nothing to lose. Let's hope they can cause an upset.

SPEAKER_01

But Colliewood should improve after just being that tip lose to Sydney.

SPEAKER_00

Then we've got Port Adelaide versus Carlton. So Carlton found a bit of form getting their first win. Port Adelaide dropped that game against Gold Coast. But this game could really go either way in Adelaide. Uh Port, you know, both teams are really just fighting out to carry some form during the rest of the season. Find a reason to play the rest of the season well.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I think this is gonna be one of the good games that's around. I think it's the game around for me.

SPEAKER_00

Really?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, because Port they haven't been playing great. Carlton, they've been they haven't been playing great either.

SPEAKER_00

They've got a new coach.

SPEAKER_01

They've got a new coach, so Fraser, if you if you happen to be listening, I think you need to get some good tactics in. Now I've got GWS Brisbane. GWS will look to rebound at home after being out muscled by West Coast.

SPEAKER_00

But both teams are coming off losses, and both teams really need to come back and bounce back hard to get a win here.

SPEAKER_01

Brisbane, they haven't been playing great. GWS, they're the underdogs.

SPEAKER_00

I think so. But yeah, I think both and GWS really need to win. Brisbane's form are being a bit patchy after losing before these losing to Geelong.

SPEAKER_01

I know, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So they need to start playing well.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, both teams come off a loss from last round, so.

SPEAKER_00

And then we've got Western Bulldogs versus Melbourne. This could this should be a game of a round. Melbourne's coming in some really good form. Bulldogs, they're putting up some a really good effort all season, but they're just looking like their injuries are starting to hurt them.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Bulldogs have been playing well, Melbourne they've been playing well. I think both teams are even on the ladder.

SPEAKER_00

Well, are they both the same amount of wins?

SPEAKER_01

I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

I'll have a quick look.

SPEAKER_01

So Melbourne have got seven wins and Bulldogs five. Yeah. But this still would be a good game.

SPEAKER_00

Bulldogs, with all their injuries, they're still putting up a good fight. Just wonder if they can close this one out.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Okay, Dad, it's time for the tips. Hawthorne versus Adelaide.

SPEAKER_00

I'm gonna go Adelaide.

SPEAKER_01

I'm gonna go Hawks. Richmond versus Essendon.

SPEAKER_00

I'll go the Bombers.

SPEAKER_01

I'll go the Bombers as well. Fremantle Saints.

SPEAKER_00

I'll go the Dockers.

SPEAKER_01

I'll go to Dockers. Um I'm gonna North Melbourne Kangers versus Gold Coast.

SPEAKER_00

I'll go Gold Coast.

SPEAKER_01

I'm gonna go Gold Coast.

SPEAKER_00

I'll go Sydney.

SPEAKER_01

I'll go Sydney as well. Hollywood West Coast.

SPEAKER_00

Let's go West Coast and an upset.

SPEAKER_01

I'm an upset as well, so I'm gonna go.

SPEAKER_00

And we can tell Isaac that we pick the Eagles and they're gonna win.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Port Adelaide Carlton.

SPEAKER_00

Uh I'll go Port Adelaide.

SPEAKER_01

I'm gonna go port as well. GWS Brisbane.

SPEAKER_00

I'll go Brisbane.

SPEAKER_01

I'll go Brisbane. Bulldogs, Melbourne.

SPEAKER_00

I'll go Melbourne.

SPEAKER_01

I'm gonna go Melbourne as well. Okay guys, that's it for this week. See you next week.

SPEAKER_00

See you next week. Just quickly, did you have a good birthday, Max?

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

You got what you wanted?

SPEAKER_01

Yes.
