If you're here for the fact you already win.

SPEAKER_06

Welcome to the Songs of FM podcast, episode 12, S1E12 here. How are you guys doing today? Tonight, tomorrow? Well, uh, we're going to jump in this week. This is going to be a little bit different than what we have been doing because if you've caught on since episode four, every even uh episode, we have had a guest. We don't have a guest today. Uh hopefully we'll have one lined out for episode 14.

SPEAKER_05

I don't know if that's true or us. If you go segment three, Ren has a special guest.

SPEAKER_06

Well, yeah, okay. So that that might be doesn't count until it happens.

SPEAKER_05

Okay. Buckle up.

SPEAKER_07

Buckle up.

SPEAKER_06

That's pretty and and it and the intro is going to be a little bit different for me, too. And it it kind of goes against the grain of what I've been failing at and not mentioning our ads, but Ren said, uh, no ad this time, maybe later in the show.

SPEAKER_05

So that's a little bit that's we don't know if we're getting paid for this one.

SPEAKER_06

Right. Well, I mean, have you got paid yet?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, really. I think we're in.

SPEAKER_06

I'm still waiting on my blockbuster money. That was episode one. Well, all right, Ryan. At least this one's still here uh in the intro. Are you gonna write some wrongs or are you gonna throw me a curveball and say you're gonna do it?

SPEAKER_05

Well, Russ, I didn't have time to get anything together, so we're gonna skip that too.

SPEAKER_06

Son of a gun.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

No, I'll start off. I'm actually gonna do it out of order because I really like the first wrong the most, and I want to end with it. I only have two.

SPEAKER_07

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Uh I'd like to start by saying I keep forgetting to tell Ren and James about this, but we had our first public recognition uh from the podcast. We did, we did. Oh we're in public and somebody recognized somebody from the podcast.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. Specifically said, Hey, you're the guy in the podcast.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Yep, it's Chris. Oh, it's Chris. Oh, it was Chris James. Yeah, he didn't expect of all people. And it was in Lawrenceburg of all places. So it was. Yeah. Wow.

SPEAKER_05

All right. And the Rena Rock Challenge, uh, I claim that Toto's sweep through the tournament. Uh the tightest matchup was Queen at three to two.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Uh that they blew everybody else out. And that just showcases my ADHD and short-term memory. They had just defeated Journey three to two, less than a minute before I made that statement. So opening rounds and the final, that was the two blowouts, middle rounds went down to the wire.

SPEAKER_07

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Uh, the big one for me is the SOFM Drome Clinic. We had a little discussion about uh the song Hot for Teacher.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

And the opening. You guys remember that?

SPEAKER_07

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Press claim that it was the exhaust of his Ferrari. I need you to clarify whose Ferrari it was.

SPEAKER_06

Uh, I'm thinking it was Eddie's. It was Alex Van Halen that that that made the statement because I was listening to his uh, I think the book's called Brothers, listening to the audiobook. So it was either his or Ed's or somebody that was there, it was a Ferrari, though, I'm pretty sure.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, so Russ claims it's a Ferrari. Uh James chined in that it was a Harley. Chris said it was double track drums, and that's what I had always heard. And Ren said it was a tractor. It was actually Eddie Van Halen's Lamborghini. Lamborghini. Lamborghini. So we all got that wrong. Okay. I'll take the L there. Okay.

SPEAKER_11

What was the engine? D and L V10? Oh, it was a six liter.

SPEAKER_05

It was not a six-liter for 4.3 V6. That's it.

SPEAKER_11

Eco Boost Turbocharge.

SPEAKER_06

With a supercharger. Uh-huh. Did you did you purposely ask that question, James, or did you just step into that?

SPEAKER_11

I just stepped into it.

SPEAKER_05

For a second, he was a genius. Yeah, right.

SPEAKER_03

Real man of genius.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, that was good.

SPEAKER_03

What was that? What was that for?

SPEAKER_06

What was that?

SPEAKER_03

Was that Bud Light?

SPEAKER_05

Budweiser? Budweiser. Bud Light. Bud Light.

SPEAKER_06

Real man of genius. Okay.

SPEAKER_05

I think so.

SPEAKER_06

Are those the rights? Are those the wrongs you're going to write, Ryan?

SPEAKER_05

That's it.

SPEAKER_06

Alright. Well, we'll move right on to Wait, wait a minute. Are you sure we're not doing an ad right now? Right now? No ad. Okay. Alright. Just making sure. All right. Moving on to segment number one. We're bringing it back. Welcome to my brain is back once more. So I hope you gentlemen are prepared. I'm going to start this one out and we're going to move around the table and then have some quick reactions to everyone's uh thought. Um so uh I'll start. My thought, my welcome to my brain um submission, is as a and I I I take this term lightly because I don't play an instrument in calling myself a musician. But as a musician, is it okay for me if I genuinely like some of these AI created songs? Because some of them are great. You know, they're different uh stylistic versions of popular songs, you know, uh RB version of you know, this country song, or you know what I'm talking about. You all sing it.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it's uh it's like a guilty pleasure. I've I've fell victim to the same thing. I hear a couple of AI songs, and I've even I thought I shared one with you guys many uh probably a couple months ago. Yeah, and I it was I felt guilty about it. I was like, this sounds awesome, but it's not real.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, I mean that's uh some some songs that you and the one that catch me is like if they do a song that nowhere ever in my brain have I ever thought of that song would sound good in that way, that version. And the ones that surprise me uh are are the ones I'm specifically talking about because some of them are really good. Now I could offer you a uh an example, but I'm not going to because you can go down that rabbit hole yourself. And it seems to me like it's mostly on TikTok, and then if you if you see something on TikTok and you particularly like it, you may be able to listen to it on uh YouTube or something. Who who's the guy on TikTok that does he's the black gentleman that uh has the gray beard, he's a Gen X guy. He's one that does a lot of them. I don't know if he actually creates them or if he hears them and just puts them up or what it is. But uh those are the ones that I specifically like, the ones that he he does, because he'll announce you know, this is uh a live by Pearl Jam done as a reggae song or something like that, you know. So that that was my that's that's been in my brain even back when we done the first version of what's in my brain. You know, uh talking about Mr.

SPEAKER_05

Professor 318?

SPEAKER_06

Uh maybe. Is he a black gentleman with a gray beard? Big a beard like you, yeah. Where's a cap lot?

SPEAKER_05

Uh he's not in this one.

SPEAKER_06

Well, this guy's usually got a hat on.

SPEAKER_05

TV with a fireplace in the background?

SPEAKER_06

Uh, you know, I really haven't paid attention to if it's like a static background. I don't know. But he's uh he's really good at it.

SPEAKER_03

Well, I've always wondered about this AI stuff. When will be the first band, local, regional, whatever, to hear an AI created song and then cover it?

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. Ooh. Hey, ooh. Well, I won't lie, it's run through my brain. So me too.

SPEAKER_05

You know, so you guys are specifically talking about real songs that exist that they just flip the style.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, using AI.

SPEAKER_05

That's one that's not a oh not a complete. I think not a complete AI song.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, that's the complete AI songs that I have heard are very generic. You can almost pencil it out.

SPEAKER_05

I mean, I would argue a lot of the new country stuff's very generic too. I think it seems to be doing fine. And I think you know, we had the conversation about musicians and pay and all that uh a couple weeks ago via chat, and it led me to start thinking about I saw an article about AI, when is that going to be the new thing? Because we all know that what drives everything in the music industry is the records and record companies of money. Yeah. And eventually, if they can cut the artist out, they can maximize their profit.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, absolutely. But the even I will say the ones that I have seen or or and or heard uh all are they're almost like today's country, which you know, today's country is the only genre that still sells physical copies, you know. Um the that that they're the I guess the mainstream anymore of of what people are out there buying. And then you look at the area that we're in, we're kind of in the epicenter of that being in eastern Kentucky. Um, you know, you you that's that's the kind of music you're hearing out of the window of at least 60%, 70% of the of the windows you hear driving by is is country music. And and you know, that's there's nothing wrong with that at all because that's what makes the world go round. Everybody's got their own taste. But it's a really cookie cutter. The the I really look for where I don't play an instrument, I look for lyrical content mostly in the songs that I that I list to. I do love to hear a good Rhodes piano. I do love to hear a good B3 organ. I love to hear tasteful guitar licks and stuff like that. I'm not the you know, I don't like the flashy stuff, I don't tend to lean towards that. But uh I don't want to get too far off uh the topic. But uh uh that's kind of uh what I equate it to is today's country music and the predictability of it, where you know what they're gonna be writing about, you know even what the next word is gonna be said, and the completely generated AI songs seem to follow that pattern, in my opinion. That I can I can sit there and think, okay, if I know this is a a completely AI produced song, I know what they're gonna sing next. You know, and then nine times out of ten, thus far, I've been right.

SPEAKER_04

So now somebody mentioned uh when is AI going to you know actually hit it. There was um there was somebody that made a whole album, AI album, and sold it.

SPEAKER_06

Um you're not referring to Randy Travis, are you?

SPEAKER_04

No.

SPEAKER_06

Because they have done that with him. They they they re AI'd his voice. Yeah, just the voice. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Now this was a whole thing. You can check it, Ryan. I'm pretty sure that somebody actually had AI write this whole album and they put it up.

SPEAKER_06

Now that's we're approaching K13 territory here, and and and AI being we could do a whole episode on it. But uh, and I didn't want to open that box of worms being the first one out, but here we are.

SPEAKER_03

So uh let's see where we get a lot of our content is during this segment.

SPEAKER_06

So yeah, right, right. Uh so uh we'll we'll go ahead and move along with it. Uh but mine was is it okay that I genuinely like some of these AI created songs? Um so let's uh let's move on to James. James, what do you got for us? What's in your brain?

SPEAKER_11

So as music's progressed over time, there's always been some backlash on new technology. Always. In maybe the 60s and 70s with the Melotron and synthesizer, there was backlash of hey, you're not really playing strings, that's cheating. Or that's not really a harmonica or a brass section, that's cheating. Fast forward to not today, but I I'd say probably a hit more about 10-15 years ago. Uh there was a lot of hate of playing with clicker tracks and uh filling in tracks that the musicians couldn't do completely live. Uh it could be an effect like a wind pushing in or just an effect that you might have to do it all, you might have to have seven keyboardists on stage. Yeah. So and obviously there's a lot more things to do with click track nowadays. But what do you think the next progression in music technology that might get backlash?

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, I think I just spoke about it.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, it's already started because I see a lot of ads for uh these co-producers of AI that's supposed to help you mix and master your um your your uh album or help you create it.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah. So do you think do you think we'll get past we'll get to the point to where maybe there's not a front of house engineer? Maybe it's AI done. That is very possible.

SPEAKER_05

I mean, I mean it became very popular in the last uh I don't know. I I started noticing the last 10-15 years to where you have these solo acts, especially pop hip hop, they don't have a backing band and they're just singing karaoke with a few dancers. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

So we're already kind of well and there's our already uh automation in consoles.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, and that that what Ryan was talking about, that's been there for a long time. And that's just the kind of their the the uh the root of their music. A lot of that stuff is either sampled or it's uh you know created from a keyboard or something like that, to where they can just throw it together, and that's why I mean I'm not gonna throw off on it, but that's kind of why my favorite hip-hop group of all time is the Beastie Boys, especially when they done the license the uh ill communication album. You know, that's when they didn't done sabotage because they started out as a punk band. That was their their first thing, they were a punk band. And then they switched, you know, they were in New York and they switched over to hip-hop. Um, but in that in that uh ill communication album when they done like sabotage, you know they were playing those instruments. So you can check it out on YouTube where they played it live on uh on Letterman. Uh Tribe Call Quest have done that, you know.

SPEAKER_05

Well, you look at uh Jay-Z, I'm sure he uses some sampling, but he's got one of the best drummers in the world playing playing drums on stage live. I don't know if he still does, Ren. You know what I'm talking about?

SPEAKER_03

Wait, I just got something.

SPEAKER_05

Is this our guest?

SPEAKER_03

Sorry, as you were talking to me, I just had something come in from the future. No, so this is what we have to what you're talking about, James. Um we have this box. It has an Ethernet cable, data cable, goes to the stage, so your uh your uh inputs go to this box, and this box is connected to a computer or an iPhone or whatever, and uh your mix front of house mix is uh based on your uh chat inputs. Need a little this, need a little that. But the box itself has a room sensor, so it can kind of get it to where you want it, and based on your prompts and feedback, it'll adjust the sound for you.

SPEAKER_11

Like an RTA mic.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, yeah. Yeah, that's you probably hit the nail on the head right there. I think so. Yeah. That's that's probably because the rig we use when we play is already uh you hook it up with a cat five cable. Got the box on stage, and you know, you Chris uses the uh the iPad most of the time because we're playing in smaller venues, but when we play in a bigger venue, I've got a controller that you know it just hooks straight up to it with via uh uh a router. Yeah. You know, you just go into the router with this the controller and then router on the box too. And yeah, so you put something in the middle there that's got a room mic built into it and it kind of senses on it.

SPEAKER_03

Instead of just telling you what the RTA values are, it's gonna automatically adjust and ask for your input on it. And all the old sound guys are gonna be like, I ain't how you run sound, but that's basically how you do it.

SPEAKER_06

That's basically what it says now. The the Presonic stuff, you set up the room mic and it and you hit test, and it goes through and and sets all those things for you.

SPEAKER_05

That's what I was gonna say. Is that much different than that?

SPEAKER_06

Well, I mean, it'd be more advanced where it's actually you're talking about volume. It's just a box, man. There's nothing. Just mixes, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

You can't be like, oh, we need a little more bass. Yeah. Turn it up.

SPEAKER_03

Ask it. More like you have a little prompt mic, more bass, and then it just adjusts it for you. Hey, how, can I get a little bit more of the uh fiddle in the in my ears, please? Yeah. And that'll be just tell exactly what you need ears, front of house, whatever you're hearing. Put some reverb on channel four, please. It's done. I'd say you hit the nail on the head, buddy.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, they they did try to do an all cat five console with a cat with guitars and bass and mics with cat five in them.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Why are we talking about cats? Category cable.

SPEAKER_03

Category five. It's Ethernet cable. The technical term for network cable, buddy. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

I was gonna say, my dad always told me I sounded like I had a cat in my show.

SPEAKER_03

Now it's cat 6e, I guess. Yeah, right.

SPEAKER_09

Right.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, right.

SPEAKER_11

There's eight. It's technology, so it's going to progress. But uh poor Chris Stapleton's uh front of house engineer would hate it because his console is pure analog. There is nothing digital about how it's ran front of house.

SPEAKER_06

A lot, a lot of respect there to really. Yeah, analog. Just like uh most of your tube amps sound better, you know, you get that warmth of a good tube amp. But is it everything's going digital now, and then with your your uh your mods and stuff like that, they can they can recreate about almost any sound. You know, James was talking about the what was it, the 60 cycle hertz, or what was it? 60. Oh, uh 60 cycle hum from a tube amp. And I thought that would be a good band name, 60 cycle hum. But uh, anyways, we'll move on. Uh Chris, you want to give us what's in your brain?

SPEAKER_04

Okay, not much, but um so you know related.

SPEAKER_11

I didn't plan that. I swear we didn't plan that a good cricket sound. I'm impressed.

SPEAKER_04

So everybody has had a original Xbox or Xbox 360, right? Yeah, so you know, you get a game like Doom 3, you play it. Well, you're like, okay, well, you have a friend that plays only on a computer. You build a computer that is the same as the Xbox. It does not play. It's the same specs.

SPEAKER_06

Right? No.

SPEAKER_04

But why? I mean, one has a PDM3, got a Pentium three on this computer, it it won't run. Why is that?

SPEAKER_06

I mean, is it I mean like I said the file type. Yeah. File type.

SPEAKER_11

Uh I I was actually watching there's a guy I follow on YouTube about Nintendo Switch, and like when the Switch 2 comes out came out, they sent developers a kit to convert their game to the file that's on that can run on Nintendo Switch.

SPEAKER_04

Well 360 actually used Windows.

SPEAKER_06

Did it? I didn't know that. Well then I don't know, Chris. Can you tell us?

SPEAKER_04

No, because that makes no sense. You you get the same same equipment put together.

SPEAKER_06

Well, there's obviously something they put in there to make it proprietary to where you have to buy the console and not able to play it, you know, without uh some kind of uh um what are they called emulator?

SPEAKER_04

I I'm talking about just getting the actual copy for your computer. It wouldn't play.

SPEAKER_11

Like loading an Xbox 360 game disc into the distribution. Oh, you're talking about the Windows version of it.

SPEAKER_04

So you actually get that, it won't play. You have to have a more powerful computer than what the Xbox is.

SPEAKER_06

Money. They want you to buy more you know gear to to crank up your system to be able to do that. So and that's the easy answer.

SPEAKER_03

I guess there's way more resources on a Windows machine trying to perform every other function along with the uh Xbox application. Because it's dedicated to just the game.

SPEAKER_06

You gotta account for both. Yeah. All right. Well, that was quick and easy. Uh James, uh, you've done done yours, Chris done his. Uh let's go to Ryan.

SPEAKER_05

All right, so there's a song by Daryl Singletary.

SPEAKER_04

There we go.

SPEAKER_05

The lyrics are I don't know you from Adam, but if you're gonna play the jukebox, please don't play A11. What was A11?

SPEAKER_04

I knew it. I knew it.

SPEAKER_05

I'm gonna actually not it, but I've been sitting on that for a long time.

SPEAKER_04

Well, actually, A11's an actual song.

SPEAKER_11

How long have you had that joke like written down somewhere?

SPEAKER_06

Uh I think since the case it's been on a sticky note on his monitor. Bravo.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, and you know, I've never heard of that song, and and I played with Jake, I don't know, six, eight months ago, and that was on a set list. I was like, what is this song? I didn't know it was playing background, but it didn't.

SPEAKER_03

My work week is done. Oh god.

SPEAKER_05

So I felt like this one's kind of um kind of in line with Ren's last wears my brain a little bit. I might get kidnapped by the FBI, CIA. So Somebody. Um anybody kept up with the Nancy Guthrie case?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, about a month ago.

SPEAKER_05

Anybody about a month ago? Still going on there. But do you know how they got the video of the kidnapper?

SPEAKER_06

Okay, so I'm gonna go ahead and preface all of this by saying I have I heard about it, Nancy Guthrie. Uh Savannah Guthrie is her daughter. She's on some show. She is um and she got kidnapped and ratings have skyrocketed since the kidnapping. Okay, and uh I've just been told about that. Otherwise, get ready for the beep, Chris. I don't give a fuck.

SPEAKER_05

Well, here's where you may. So she got kidnapped at night. She had a security system that was inactive because she hadn't paid the subscription. The FBI pulled the video from Blink, and that's where they caught the kidnapper on. So she's not paying the subscription, but it's still recording everything that's going on and reporting it back to Blink.

SPEAKER_07

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

So another another um Snapchat. Little I don't know what you call it, a little example I ran across. A student teacher made a comment comment right or wrong, it was probably wrong, but she was saying it in jest. She wasn't saying she was actually going to do it. She was writing a paper, and a student unplugged her computer, and she was like, Ah, I'm gonna shoot my student, and and sent a Snapchat, not a picture with the text, not in in text. It was a picture with the text, the ones that come to you, you see it one time, disappears, poof, gone forever, nobody else ever sees it. Not true. Snapchat reports it to the FBI, FBI reports it to local police, they show up, she gets arrested, and she loses her job. So how how much how much privacy do we really have now?

SPEAKER_07

None anyway.

SPEAKER_05

We joke about it all the time. I I say something, I open up my phone, and I have an ad for it on Facebook. I probably have an ad right now for Blank. So on Facebook as soon as I open it.

SPEAKER_06

I've got this webcam on me that that that's what you're seeing. Exactly. I've got the webcam built into my my MacBook, and I've got the webcam that's in my iPhone. They're all staring at me right now.

SPEAKER_05

Watching the episode live as it happens.

SPEAKER_06

They're yeah, they're all three looking at me, and they're getting three different versions of me at the CIA. But you know what the CIA is gonna be? They're gonna be terribly bored with my life.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, I was gonna say, I thought the show's pretty good, Res. I mean, yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_06

It's just uh, you know, we we we do this and we hope everybody watches and we have fun with it. We're five friends that do this thing for us in our life. This is a big deal. But to the CIA, you know, this we're not on the pack.

SPEAKER_05

I don't know, Russ. Imagine if I worked for the CIA. Let's walk through what my day would look like. Oh I'd like to think I'd be trying to catch a serial killer, but really I'd probably be watching some really stupid stuff like I do now on YouTube. Well, yeah, watch it in real life.

SPEAKER_06

There's no doubt about that.

SPEAKER_05

You would zoom in on jukebox. Let's check all the jukeboxes in New York City right now, see what K-13 is. Get the camera view.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, you know, it's just like your Alexa devices and your uh Google devices that have the little switch that said, you know, turn the microphone off. It's supposed to break that circuit.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, yeah, but does it? Of course it's and I think what kind of brought this up is we were driving into eastern Kentucky this weekend, and uh this little boy at school sent my my stepdaughter a message, called her some names, and said some things to her. And and I said, you know, kids think that all these things automatically just disappear, nobody ever sees it. Well, now on Snapchat, you can turn on to save the the messages for 24 hours or longer. So I I don't know. I I told her, I'm like, honey, you have to realize that all these things that you think are private are not private. Uncle Donnie is sitting there at Snapchat headquarters eating his tuna sandwich, reading all your chats. We have a security system with cameras on the outside, we have one in our kitchen. Chris stayed with me Tuesday night. I caught him scratching his nuts and eating my cheese balls.

SPEAKER_11

Nothing's ever brought you said Uncle Donnie. Is that one of Ring's?

SPEAKER_03

Funny thing is, is I actually have an Uncle Donnie. So well, there's multiple layers here. I don't even know where to start first. First of all, when you sign up for Facebook, Snapchat, whatever, as soon as you hit enter, agree, you've given up any freedom. Absolutely.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, and now that you bring that up, I'll be right back. All those people out there that maybe listen that think, hey, I'm gonna copy this and post it on my Facebook because it it releases Facebook of any ability for my pictures. It does not you you have given all that up when you clicked I agree.

SPEAKER_04

Because you never read it.

SPEAKER_03

On the other end, the technical side of it, uh, both those examples, Snapchat and uh security camera. Yeah, to the user, Snapchat supposedly disappear to the other user. But the company, I'm sure in fine print somewhere, they maintain a certain amount of that data. And especially for the security camera, uh I've always I thought I've seen that they they can keep it up, even though you don't have a subscription, they'll keep up to 14 or 30 days on the back end in case you activate your subscription and they can retroactively go back a few days for you.

SPEAKER_06

Maybe so raise your hand on the panel here of anyone that has read every single word of a licensing agreement, an end user agreement when you're signing up for these things.

SPEAKER_05

Uh I'll make a confession. I've probably never read more than not those 15 words at all. Nobody even signed anything, my mortgage, whatever.

SPEAKER_04

Nobody always remember once on the internet, always on the internet.

SPEAKER_11

Absolutely. Oh, yeah. Yeah. And if you're joining us, we I really hope that our sponsor at the end of this is like abuse par or something because we've just caused all of our listeners to have extreme anxiety.

SPEAKER_04

Watch it be Netscape.

SPEAKER_06

It's gotta be yeah, it's gotta be something retro, you know. So I don't know if that existed back then.

SPEAKER_03

Also, another great uh documentary that'll go along with this conversation is Social Dilemma. Have you all seen it? I haven't seen that. I've heard about it, I haven't watched it. There's an expert that claims in there that a lot of these coincidences that these things are listening to us. One guy tried to say that the I think it's built on AI, that it's predictive marketing based on just what you've put out there into the world, what your interests are, that it just it's really good at predicting what what ad that you might want to see that's relevant. And just a claim it's coincidence that it might be something you just thought about.

SPEAKER_06

But when it's just too coincidental for me, what convinced me beyond the shadow of a doubt that it was actually listening to me is that uh I referenced uh an old country song, uh, I mean not like a classic country song or anything back from the nineties uh of a band called BR549. When is that band never went through anybody's head here recently? Never. This has been several years ago.

SPEAKER_04

All our phones will show an ad for them.

SPEAKER_06

Uh and and after that, uh on my Facebook I had an ad for BR549, whose relevancy was at an all-time zero. And I that's when I was convinced, beyond a shadow down, and that's been 20 years ago.

SPEAKER_05

You know, I had a coworker probably 10 years ago. We were playing a softball league, and he was telling me about a brand of bat he just bought that I'd never heard of. And later that night I had an ad for that brand of bat.

SPEAKER_03

So it definitely listens to you. Well, how about you look or think of something? Don't say it out loud and it shows up. That's happened to me a couple of times.

SPEAKER_05

Oh that's what freaks me out.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, you're talking about ESPN right there.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

And all your devices talk to each other.

SPEAKER_03

I seen uh uh I was in my office and I heard hopping. Somebody was hopping. I didn't say a word, and all of a sudden I had uh an ad for moon moonshoes on my computer.

SPEAKER_06

Well then uh uh Ryan's gonna have uh uh an ad for old man slippers uh because his dog Samson walks around the house. He's a big dog. What is he? He's a doodle anyround and he drags his back feet and it's I swear it sounds like an old man walking through the house in his slippers.

SPEAKER_05

Well, after we got after we got the podcast last week, uh when we were watching James stream, and uh sorry about that, James, but that was that was so much fun. Oh my god. Russ said, is that Samson walking through the house? He could hear him all the way down the hallway.

SPEAKER_06

And it's just his back feet. That's hilarious because when my dogs walk on our hardwood floors, you just hear their nails walking along. But his using just like an old man. All right, I guess that leaves Ren with what's in your brain. Uh, because of the last time in your affinity for uh what they called AEPs, UAPs. Um I didn't want to offend you by saying flying saucers are aliens. Uh, I wanted to let you go last and give you the most room.

SPEAKER_11

Well, this is the time where we have FBI, CIA, Homeland Security. Everybody's watching. They're watching now.

SPEAKER_03

No aliens tonight. It's really pretty simple. I literally thought of this like maybe an hour or so before we got on here, but uh, I do have a title for it. Smoking birthday parties. Hi, dog. Yeah. I mean, do you ever remember when uh restaurants, you know, had smoking section in Nonsense?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, James smoked anywhere.

SPEAKER_11

My mother smoked while pregnant with me. I know that explains a lot.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, okay. Well, I mean, long story. The best part Alan Stilgrin's Thunder. I'll bring it up at the end. I'll see if he covers it.

SPEAKER_03

Well, I mean, I I remember going to these places, most every place had a smoking section and non-section. My parents always preferred the non-smoking, but I don't ever remember us complaining about all those smokers in the back corner over there.

SPEAKER_05

Just the back corner. That was the best part. There was like a line down the middle with a half wall. I mean, you could be on that side, not on this side.

SPEAKER_03

Depending on where you're sitting, you could literally have a booth and then a little partition that doesn't even go all the way to the wall, and there's a smoker there like five foot from you.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. With their little 10 ashtrays.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. But I'm pretty sure McDonald's on the hill in Prestonsburg had a smoking section. You know, as you walk in on the on the front side, it's right there. And it was like a little uh, you know, area that was kind of partitioned off and had a TV up on the wall near the restrooms. Yeah, that's what I was getting to say was by the bathrooms. Yeah, which also served as birthday parties. That's where they you could have the birthday party section. Yeah, yeah. You could have some wild parties there, man. Smoking and birthday and just got the title.

SPEAKER_06

Smoking birthday party. Thank you, Uncle Donnie. You bought me a carton of Virginia's limb.

SPEAKER_05

We actually have uh we have a bar, it's at the golf course in Lawrenceburg where they still smoke inside. And then there's a little gas station, it's a little secret, we won't tell anybody because they're not allowed, but these old men smoke in there and have breakfast every morning.

SPEAKER_06

Hey, uh Dairy Queen in Martin. That was the place there. And I remember when they got their first flat screen TV in there, it was a Visio. And I went in there to eat breakfast one morning. I was working, and I stopped in there to grab breakfast, and I sit down, and there's the old men in their section talking, smoking, and going on. And uh I hear one of them say, Hey, what do you think about that new TV they got in here? That's nice, ain't you? Yeah, yeah. That's one of them VI210s. It was a vizio. Uh all right. Everybody done have you done with yours, Ren, your smoking birthday party. That's it. All right, well, that wraps up segment number one. Ryan, what have you got for us? Segment number dose.

SPEAKER_05

All right, after a short turnaround and a busy weekend, I learned to fully read the notes. Uh, I just skimmed, saw the subject line, prepared my notes, and I have a full page of information about Ren that's completely useless. And we'll call this segment SOFM Jackass.

SPEAKER_06

Did Jackass?

SPEAKER_05

So after reading the notes, I learned that it's actually about uh about the show Jackass, and Jackass 5 will be the last Jackass film, according to Knoxville. So we're gonna pay tribute. I think we mentioned it. Uh what was the segment called? It was MTV when MTV ruled the world. Yeah, uh was I think James's favorite show.

SPEAKER_06

It was uh he he might be propping it up because yeah, he's his favorite one away.

SPEAKER_05

I see about that. A lot of disappointment there. We were we thought you were pulling a rin. It was gonna be exciting. You come back just looking like you.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, no, my son was crying. I was communicating with my wife real quick. Gotcha.

SPEAKER_05

So each person will share uh their favorite cast member, and then uh favorite stunt or episode. And we're not limiting it just to the movie, right? Community TV, yeah, movie, just any the whole jackass verse. Yeah, so Russ, uh, let's go ahead and we'll do both. We'll do your favorite cast member and your favorite stunt or episode.

SPEAKER_06

My favorite cast member, and it may be because it has nothing to do with, you know, uh his pass passing, but um I always thought he was the most even kill of the whole bunch. He was the voice of reason for the whole bunch. And you needed that that uh that kind of balance there because you had the guys that are way off in this side. But Ryan Dunn was always kind of, you know, he was up for everything. He did uh, you know, I'm not gonna mention it because Ryan's probably gonna use it. He did the, you know, a stunt that we're all familiar with and love, and he he would go toe-to-toe with those guys doing all those stunts and stuff, but he was always kind of the most even kill one. And I always thought if I was part of the jackass world, that's how I would be with it. You know, I'd be game to do whatever, but you know, I wasn't gonna go crazy and stuff like that. But uh Ryan Dunn was my my favorite cast member. Now, my favorite um segment, and it's been in the movie I think it's been in the several of the movies, and I believe it might have been in the show, because it's you know, when in the lore of Jackass, it's kind of a more recent thing. But I loved the high five when they had the big huge hand and it was spring loaded, and they brought it back and they'd get them to come in, usually carrying a tray of soup or something, and it would just smack the crap out of them. I loved, loved that. That was that was probably my and it, you know, that's really tame for what they done, but that was my my favorite segment, was was that's what they called it, the high five. So Ryan Dunn and the high five for me.

SPEAKER_05

All right, Chris, what was your favorite cast member, favorite stunt or episode?

SPEAKER_04

I believe that my favorite cast member was would be Johnny Knoxville. For one, I mean if it wasn't for him, it probably wouldn't actually happen Jackass hat probably wouldn't have actually happened. Yeah. Once he moved out there, you know, to start a career, he had already had ideas and everything. But for me, I I always looked at him as like he had all these ideas of stunts to do. But he's like, I ain't doing them, you are gonna do them.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, you know it was like how one of my high school teachers described me. I got accused of something in high school and they said, Oh, I knew he didn't do it, he probably put somebody up to doing it.

SPEAKER_04

Right. I mean that to me that's what he always did. It was like, Oh, this is gonna be bad. It's gonna be fun, y'all do it. And then, you know, he'd end up doing it. Yeah, you know, a lot of times not wanting to, but he'd do it and have fun.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, he always liked that bull.

SPEAKER_04

Yes. Um as far as my my my favorite stunt stuff would be some old school stuff, actually stuff that came from the CKY group that joined him. Yeah. Um with the um shopping cart. Riding it off off roofs into um trees or down the hill. Yeah, yeah, into bushes and a big CKY fan. Yeah. So you know the shopping cart thing, that's something I would actually do. Yeah. Not off a roof, but I have done it down a hill. So those were my favorite.

SPEAKER_06

Uh that that's basically the genesis of of Jackass was Johnny Knoxville was doing that stuff in Knoxville, Tennessee. Uh, because his real name is P. J. Clapp. I don't know if anybody knows that. His real name is what? PJ Clapp. Clapp. That's the L-A P P. Clapp? Yes. PJ Clappy. You're gonna turn my lights off. All right.

SPEAKER_05

But he obviously know what his high school nickname was. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

But he adopted the state name of Johnny Knox. We almost doing those type of stunts on local TV there, particularly one that kind of caught the eye of Jeff Tremain, who was doing a skate uh magazine video.

SPEAKER_04

See if I can get the name of it.

SPEAKER_06

Is it Big Brother, I think? Skateboard magazine. It's Big Brother, yes. And he, you know, he got shot with uh, I think what was it, 38? 38. Put on the the vest, you know, to test the vest and stuff.

SPEAKER_04

And that was only on um Big Brother.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, and that's when he went to uh to California, met up with Jeff Tremaine and the whole jackass thing started.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. They got Bam and them from CKY, and then they got Steve O from the circus in Florida.

SPEAKER_05

Yep. All right. That's a huge shocker. All right, Grin.

SPEAKER_03

Me? Yep, you okay sounded like you said Grin with a G in the Grin.

SPEAKER_05

Grin. Is that your cousin? Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I gotta go with Steve O, my man Steve O. He uh he took the bit nobody else wanted. Yeah, I was a trooper.

SPEAKER_06

You're right.

SPEAKER_03

And I just really like his story of you know overcoming drug addiction and in and back again and all that. Um but just plain and simple. Steve O, he's my guy. Now, my favorite ever prank. Russ, you stole it. It's the it's the high five. But there's a particular one that kills me over every time. I mean, I like them all, but this one, and I even quote it all the time. Just actually, I I binge watched uh Jackass. It was probably two months ago. Actually, it was probably when we mentioned it. Yeah, oh, okay. And I just went on Paramount Plus and went down the rabbit hole of Jackass. But Jackass 3D is what that's from, the high five prank. And it's in the production office, and it's the one where you got Johnny Knoxville winding it up, getting ready to go. And apparently it had some powder or yeah, yeah, he had a bag of flour on it. Flour, okay. Yeah, and we man is standing there in the doorway. He already got his dude or he has his little uh smack in the face. He's standing there and bam is walking toward the doorway. Yes, and uh high five. Johnny lets it go, smack, bam over.

SPEAKER_06

Powder goes everywhere. He does something something like, hey dude, what's up? High five, or something like that. High five, dude. Uh yeah, you mentioned Steve O. Steve O was one of my favorites too.

SPEAKER_05

Uh I was in Clearwater on vacation, and I had they thought I had tour my Achilles long story, and and it was a two-hour wait for dinner, so I went and set up the bar. And this old guy was sitting next to me, asked me what happened to my Achilles, and I told him, and he goes, Man, I had this guy at my house uh break his his femur in half. I was like, huh? He's like, Yeah, his femur. Turns out his son was trying to do some YouTube jackass type show. And Steve O had been there. If you go to YouTube and uh and Google Steve-O jumps off bridge in Tampa, you'll see it. They put a uh trampoline in the back of a pickup, jump on the trampoline while they're driving it across the bridge, and he jumps off. The guy's son did it too, and I think it was Steve-O landed flat on his back, goes underwater, and right when before he comes up, a boat goes across. He comes up right behind the boat. And Steve O's, he's he's a maniac. He was up for anything. Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

All right.

SPEAKER_05

All right, I kind of forgot that I was supposed to ask who's next. Jane, on to you.

SPEAKER_11

Uh my favorite cast member, just because if something went wrong, it was always to this guy. Or like if there was an injury or just it was absolutely messy, or just got the crap into a stick, Dave England. Dave England. Him and danger Aaron, they're 1A1B when it comes to that, what you just explained. There was a, I don't think it was the high five one. I think they reused that style of a bit, but there was a moment, it may have been the same one. I can't remember. We're gonna find out next week. But Dave was like walking and like he gets like punched either with the high five or something with baby powder, the flower. Oh, it was an airbag.

SPEAKER_06

Wow, it was a airbag.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, yeah. It's like he knocked on a door, yes, like a hotel door, and it was the airbag with uh flower on it, and he was just absolutely confused. Oh, yeah, no idea like that. Johnny's like, come on in. I think we've got a medic in here.

SPEAKER_03

That was the thing, man. And they were he was already sending out pranks as they were arriving to the set. Yeah, which is great.

SPEAKER_11

Uh, probably for my favorite stunt. Uh crap. I had it in my head and I forgot it.

SPEAKER_06

You mentioned crap, that could be a lot of them. Yeah, that could be about a lot.

SPEAKER_05

See, that was the thing with Jackass. I really liked like the funny stuff, the disgusting stuff. I I I wasn't a big fan of the couple of things. I was there for every bit of it.

SPEAKER_06

I was there for all of it.

SPEAKER_11

Oh, I remember I can't think it was it may have been like one of those little one off specials they did after Jackass 3. Uh yeah, because they would do like a Jackass 3.5 and add some stuff. They uh they dressed up Chris Pawneeus as the most realistic looking gorilla and can and was in Phil and April Margera's hotel room. Yeah. And when Phil and April walked into the hotel room, I mean he looked like a gorilla. You literally thought it was a real gorilla first watching it. Yeah. Slinging stuff, breaking it, and everything. And April is freaking out. She ends up running out the door. And Phil runs further back into the hotel room. It was this huge hotel room, huge suite. And you never know what happened to Phil until got the end. And they're like, Where's Phil? He's in there in the bathroom on the toilet. He's like where it was when you ready to do the show, of course. He's like, I had to take a shit.

SPEAKER_05

Was he standing on it hiding, or did it make him I wonder what it sounded like, Chris? Yes. Yeah, what did it sound like, Chris?

SPEAKER_11

Yeah. I guarantee it was something like that.

SPEAKER_04

But you know, I actually thought James was gonna go towards the uh the diarrhea volcano.

SPEAKER_05

Uh I thought he was gonna say the um porta potty that they put on the like the wrecking ball.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, that was Steve O again, you know, the one that did the stunts that nobody else wanted to do. I was gonna mention that one, Ryan, uh, as my honorable mention when they put Steve O in the loaded uh porta potty and used him as a as a wrecking ball.

SPEAKER_03

I love that one.

SPEAKER_06

Um, and and I don't think we could get away with talking about jackass and segments, things like that without talking about Johnny Knoxville fighting butter bean.

SPEAKER_05

Like dude, uh like in Macy's or something.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, it was like a little little shop, and he got his bell rung.

SPEAKER_05

Oh man.

SPEAKER_06

All right.

SPEAKER_05

That uh leaves me. Yeah, so my favorite cast member, I'm not sure I have a favorite. Uh I liked all of them pretty equal, Johnny Knoxville, uh, Stevo, Ryan Dunn, I could say the midget, but I feel like that's just a cop out. So I'm gonna talk about the one that I really didn't like, and that was Bam. Yeah, I just Bam just always got on my nerves, and then after he was just an inconsiderate entitled prick, and I just didn't like him. I didn't like the way he treated his parents. Just not a fan of Bam. So that's my stand more than I like any of the others. I dislike Bam that much.

SPEAKER_06

I watched the crap out of V Villa Bam, though. I love Bam. I loved Uncle Vito.

SPEAKER_05

Don Vito. Yeah. Now you you know now that you said I probably didn't watch it because I remember him.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. That was uh that was that was Phil's brother, wasn't it?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, but here goes to show how how much of a hypocrite I am. On a previous episode, I mentioned uh the car in the rectum x-ray, and I think that's what Rusty was referencing earlier in his Ryan Dunn. So I don't feel like I can reuse that. So uh, you know, in true hypocritical fashion, after my first statement about BAM, I'm gonna go with when he light fireworks and Phil's Bam. I always love it. You are a fan.

SPEAKER_06

I wrote that back to back.

SPEAKER_04

Or the skate park in the house.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, he's a fan of Bam, like Chris is a fan of Barry Manila.

SPEAKER_05

Exactly. I'm a Bam alob. No, there's an alligator in our house.

SPEAKER_11

Is it real? Is it real? Is it real?

SPEAKER_05

Didn't they get one of the guys to get in uh get in bed with April one night?

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, yeah, because he was big like Phil. Poor Phil would come home. Did he have the uh the pube beard? Yes. I mean they put out the regular beard.

SPEAKER_11

Danger Aaron, Danger Aaron, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Okay. Yeah, that was good too, because they pranked Danger Aaron, who he thought was doing a prank. And they they put the yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, it's not sorry for Phil because he'd come home and he'd be like, Oh, I gotta take it up. He'd go in there, he couldn't even get any privacy going back to how much privacy do we really have.

SPEAKER_06

Right.

SPEAKER_11

That was on a different thing. There's a guy on TikTok who does uh Bam Margera impression videos, and it's so funny because how spot on is. Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_10

Like we told Don Vito that we're gonna it's great.

SPEAKER_06

Hey, that was that wasn't a bad impression. That wasn't, yeah. He had that tidal camera. He talked like this and did that with his asses, bam dead.

SPEAKER_10

So we loaded up uh we loaded Phil's van with a bunch of fireworks, and he has to get up at 3 a.m. That's pretty good, James.

SPEAKER_05

All right, you gotta do that. Yeah, it is all right.

SPEAKER_06

Well, that wrap up that segment. That wraps it up. All right, well, we're gonna move on to a game then. Uh James, are you ready? It's uh the return of Guess the Synth.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, oh, well, I see something's going on with Ren.

SPEAKER_11

I'm guessing this is on that's good because I have some clips that he would have gotten right. Oh, okay. He can't get the points on it.

SPEAKER_06

Look, the first one ever I think that he chimed in out of the ether and got.

SPEAKER_11

He may do that. All right. So just the synth, going basic this week. Uh you all know the rules. First one to buzz in or say the name of the song of which this synth line comes from, gets the point.

SPEAKER_04

Russ wins.

SPEAKER_11

And Russ has won so many times. Are we doing the board, Ryan? Yeah, where's that board at, Russ?

SPEAKER_06

I don't know. I don't know. I might be might have donated that to Goodwill.

SPEAKER_05

I'll send another one. We'll send another one. I'll just repeat order. It's on the way.

SPEAKER_11

All right.

SPEAKER_06

Are we ready? Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Joe.

SPEAKER_06

It's John Mayer.

SPEAKER_07

If you want to roll me, you gotta roll me too.

SPEAKER_05

If you want to roll me, John Mayer.

SPEAKER_07

Oh, Angel. Let me know.

SPEAKER_06

Last train.

SPEAKER_05

There it is. I was gonna implore my Google to see if I could match up with him and still couldn't do it.

SPEAKER_11

All right. Ready for song number two? Sure.

SPEAKER_05

Let's go crazy. Nope.

SPEAKER_11

A little bit higher here.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, that one's got me.

SPEAKER_05

Everybody wants to rule the world. No.

SPEAKER_06

I would have gotten that one. Do it again, James. He's probably doing a background bridge again. Probably. It's a verse. Um, I don't know. Can you give us a little something more on it? Or is that all you got of it?

SPEAKER_11

If I give you anything more, you're gonna know it immediately.

SPEAKER_06

I don't think the three of us are gonna get it otherwise.

SPEAKER_05

No, I think, but I think you chalked this up as a victory for you, James. So the score is now Russ won, James won. I'll give you that.

SPEAKER_11

I didn't know I got points on this. You did. All right. First one to say it. Thriller. Thriller! There it is. Okay. It was the verse little line. Yes. Yes.

SPEAKER_05

I was trying to get the tempo of it.

SPEAKER_06

I was listening to that voice. And I recognized that voice. I was like, I recognize that that voice he's using on that. Okay. How many of these do you have? So that's two of them.

SPEAKER_11

I got three more. Three more. But I have a tiebreaker if we need it.

SPEAKER_06

Was that three?

SPEAKER_11

That's three, right? You got the first one.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. John Mayer and Michael Jackson.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Well, no, there was one here. Oh, never mind. That's the same one that you stumped on.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Welcome back.

SPEAKER_06

Welcome to his brain.

SPEAKER_05

Ready?

SPEAKER_07

Yep.

SPEAKER_05

That's a remix of the Halloween theme.

SPEAKER_06

Michael Myers on the dance floor.

SPEAKER_05

Michael Myers and the funky bunch.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. That one's got me stumped too, James. You're on one tonight. Wow.

SPEAKER_04

That almost sounds like something from Ozzy.

SPEAKER_05

Are you thinking uh it's not it, but uh no more tears start like that? No. Or is that just straight into the bass?

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Straight into bass.

SPEAKER_05

Um does.

SPEAKER_04

Harry Mason or uh Tinker Train.

SPEAKER_07

No.

SPEAKER_11

So this section is an instrumental section. There's some ad lib vocals, and it's right before the final chorus.

SPEAKER_05

Did he put his frets on backwards?

SPEAKER_11

No. But it's a very prominent part. That's why I chose this. I thought y'all get it. I'm gonna pull okay. I'll play the line and then go into the chorus.

SPEAKER_07

All right.

SPEAKER_06

I know it's a good one.

SPEAKER_11

I thought you'd get it from that double stab.

SPEAKER_06

I was getting more of a trigger from what you'd actually originally played. I don't know, that one's got me, James. James Two. James Two, rest what Journey, okay. You walked out on me.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Yeah, you just add the words, and I still don't know it. What is it?

SPEAKER_06

Journey. Yeah, what's that? It's one of the songs we do. I don't.

SPEAKER_05

Unless the white yoke. I'll be all right without you.

SPEAKER_11

There it is.

SPEAKER_05

Hey, we actually that was a that was kind of a funny throwback to uh last night. Somebody asked if we played any Weezer. Huh. And I replied, did the White Yokim cover it?

SPEAKER_07

All right. You gonna got two more? Four? Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Here I go again. We already had that one, didn't we? I know it, but Boys of Summer.

SPEAKER_06

That's the bridge to Boys of Summer.

SPEAKER_05

There it is. Yep. Alright, we're at a tie. Russ 2, James 2. Me and Chris. I didn't know I gave points. Yeah.

SPEAKER_11

Uh last one, right?

SPEAKER_05

Yes. It's for all the marbles, James. If you stump him, you get your first victory. Might be Russ's first loss as well.

SPEAKER_11

Alright, you ready? Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_05

Who would have thought his first loss would come to James?

SPEAKER_06

Best of what I got. Best of what I got.

SPEAKER_05

Russ pulls it off. James ain't how we all feel.

SPEAKER_06

It was bad English. They've done that one.

SPEAKER_11

Bad English. That's right.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

How would they say that in Floyd County?

SPEAKER_06

Bad English.

SPEAKER_11

Bad English. Bad English. Floyd County All-Star.

SPEAKER_06

All right. Chalk up another win for me. I guess well, yeah. So now that that the games were kind of their own little standalone thing between segment two and segment number three, because segment number three is entitled only Ren's Mystery Guest.

SPEAKER_02

Hey guys. All right, all right. Knock it off. Knock it off. This segment is brought to you by Mr. T cereal. I need the food. Don't eat my cereal. It's all right. I got some jokes for you. Okay. I got a joke for you. I got a joke for you. Okay, okay. Thanks. It's enough. So there's this guy, okay? He's looking for it, he's looking through the wan ads for a job. And uh and uh he's looking because he needs a job, you know, because it's really tough in this market. Oh, and I forgot to tell you, this one the what's one thing? Uh uh this guy doesn't have any arms. Okay. So he's uh he's reading the newspaper and he uh he finds this wanted ad and it says wanted energetic young man to ring a bell in a church. He's like, oh boy, I could really do that. So I guess he's uh he he runs to this. I mean, I couldn't do it. I'm just talking about the guy. So this guy he runs to the church and he bangs his head on the door, boom, and the priest answers, he's like, Yes, my son. And he says, I've come to ring the bell. And the priest looks at him and he's like, You don't have any arms. And the guy's like, Don't you think I know that already? I'm here to ring the bell. Where's the bell? I'll ring it. So the priest is like, you're gonna have to prove it. So uh, okay, I'll prove it. So they climb up these four flights of stairs, okay? And it takes forever, and they're breathing heavy. They get up there, and there's this big bell on the floor, and it's and he so he's like, Okay, here you go, ring the bell. So the guy has no arms, he backs up, he backs up, and he runs towards the bell and bam! hits it with his head, and the the bell goes bah. And he's like, Wow, the the priest is really impressed. So he's like, I guess you got the job. So for three straight months, this guy is climbing up those four flights of stairs and he rings the bell, and he's like, and he does it like great, and he hits the bell and he rings it, and it's like wow. So, and then this one time he went up four flights of stairs, ring his bell. He done this like 12 times a day uh for like three months. So this one time he ran back, he ran back, and he tripped and he missed the bell, flew out the window, and he lay on the ground, and all the townspeople they started like, oh no, what happened to here? And uh the one guy cradles down and you know he's all splatted on the ground, you know. And uh and this one lady was and this one lady was like, What happened? Who who fell out of the bell tower? Huh? Who fell out of the bell? And the guy looks up and he goes, uh I don't know his name, but his face rings a bell. Hey, would you guys like some tricks? Sure. I'm just joking, we already done that one. I I got a one okay, I'm gonna I'm gonna disappear and then reappear ten times smaller.

SPEAKER_01

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, we're just gonna do 12 now. And uh that that kind of alludes to something that I needed to start mentioning uh on this episode. We are doing 14 standalone pre-recorded episodes, and then we're gonna wrap up our season, which is looking like it's gonna be sometime in September. Is that am I right when I say that right?

SPEAKER_05

You are right. It will be the Sunday night of Labor Day weekend, so that will be September 6th.

SPEAKER_06

So September, is that when we're going to do it, or is that when our last episode No, that's when we will record it.

SPEAKER_05

The last episode, I believe, will air on the or will release on the 25th of August.

SPEAKER_06

Okay. So we are planning on doing our 15th episode live from an undisclosed location. Um, and uh, we're gonna try to pull that off. And uh man, I hope Pee-wee makes an appearance because that's no way.

SPEAKER_11

He brought me a gift. I hope Francis didn't steal his bike when he was on this podcast. Right.

SPEAKER_05

You know, my hope is that that episode, I don't want to put too much pressure on Ren on getting all these guests there, but Mr. Hanky's there. Uh Randy, of course. Mr. Hacky. Hacky, whatever. Yeah. John B. Randy. Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_11

What do we call him? The great Ren and Sean.

SPEAKER_05

I want to see them all at one table. All right. Yeah. Agreed.

SPEAKER_06

That would be some magic. We could pull that off. Uh, Ren, kudos, my friend. Kudos. I mean, you're the man. Well, yeah, with that with that.

SPEAKER_03
