October 2003 at the Bricktown Event Center was stacked.
October 3rd had AFI, Hot Water Music, and Bleeding Through.
Sold out.
That was one of those shows that reminds you how strong the Bricktown Event Center run really was. Big stage. Big sound. Big lights. The kind of room that could hold the energy of a show like AFI and make it feel massive.
Looking back, there were a lot of great shows in that building.
Then October 9th brought a completely different monster.
The Wicked Wonka Tour.
Insane Clown Posse.
Bone Thugs-N-Harmony.
Kottonmouth Kings.
Tech N9ne.
Killah Priest.
That lineup was wild.
ICP was built for October. The Clowns always had that Halloween-season energy, and the Wicked Wonka Tour fit right into it. Soda flying. Cards spinning. Fans losing their minds.
Kottonmouth Kings were in their moment.
Tech N9ne was still coming up.
And now look at him.
Back then, Tech N9ne was opening on a bill like this. Today, he is a longtime headliner and one of the smartest independent artists to ever do it.
That is what makes old show calendars so crazy.
You look back and realize some of the biggest names in the room were still climbing.
AFI sold out.
The Wicked Wonka Tour brought chaos.
And Bricktown Event Center was right in the middle of it all.
