Good morning, good afternoon, good evening, wherever you may be. I'm Thomas Jenkins. This is WFUZ TV's the People's Voice podcast. I have a man cold, and as you all know, there's no greater pain and suffering. Not even Octomom knows the pain and suffering of a man cold. Speaking of pain and suffering, Blair, is this congressional primary almost over yet? Are we done looking at Blairy zoomed-in opus clip clips that so they can save money on the subscription of not having the watermark?
SPEAKER_00We're almost done with it. Thank the Lord. Um and thank APEC and thank everyone.
SPEAKER_01Whoa, easy now.
SPEAKER_00So yeah, we're I foresee the turnout being extremely low. Um, I foresee people's turnout being lower than it was when the race didn't even count. But let's see. We'll come back and see if I'm correct. Um the fact that's the only thing on the ballot and they want people to come out and vote for that. I'm still gonna do my civic duty and vote because I'm a like, you know, hardcore voter, but most people aren't. And I just don't think it's gonna go well. It's just not that exciting of a race. But you know, what is it kind of exciting is over there in District 2 across the way in Enterprise, it was actually in Ufala. Red Marcus cussed out another candidate, dropping F-bombs and everything. So that was fun.

SPEAKER_00No, they he did. He was cussing out Hampton Harris, him and his campaign manager or campaign staffer were cussing out Hampton Harris.
SPEAKER_01Does he own the hotels?

SPEAKER_00There's a lot of Harrises out there in positions of power and politics is strange. Um, but I don't think they're related, just a common name. Um, but yes, that for once, Josh McKee was not the biggest asshole in a congressional primary because Red Marcus decided to throw F-bombs out there during a debate, so that's fun. Um back to whatever's going on now, there's been a lot of rumors. Let's talk about rumors. Um, in the political world, there's rumors that seats are vacating, maybe a Senate seat, maybe a House seat, maybe a newly elected commission seat. There's all kinds of rumors that people will be shifting around when Tubberville becomes governor, if and when that happens, which I guess it's probably gonna happen, but they're already planning for that. And they're already planning to shift people from different positions within the administration, within possibly LDOT, within, you know, corrections. There's there's stuff going on at the state level. And I expect to see people move around and seats are gonna be opening up. So, with that, I would like to ask you, the viewer, the voter, um, who do you want to see run for office? Do you want to see the same people that kind of are funded by certain PACs or in political circles? Do you want to see new people? Is there someone that came close that you think has a good future? Me, that you'd like to see run for something. Um, let us know in the comments below.
SPEAKER_01Yes, argue about it.
SPEAKER_00I think uh I have people in mind I'd like to see. And if you do too, I'd love to hear your curiosities of what you think the future may hold for Baldwin County or the state of Alabama.
SPEAKER_01Alabama, is that really the best we can do? Tommy, we're gonna do data centers to rebuild. Come on. For crying out loud. We're gonna go from small government to 87 flock cameras in Gulf Shores alone. More uh more flock cameras in Baldwin County than in Mobile County? Why? For what? Have y'all heard of all these uh mistakes that AI is making? You're trusting the same technology that draws six fingers on people's hands when they do a rendition of a human being to accurately guide our law enforcement to make good decisions and taking away critical thinking and tactical skill away from that training. That's what you're doing. That's what you're voting in. Just so you're aware.
SPEAKER_00We're really in for a scary future with all this AI. Now, going back things in moderation, AI is good as a tool, as a supplement, as something to fast track large amounts of data and projects, just like a calculator would be, just like you know, Grammarly would be back in the day for us writers. Things to verify that you're doing things correctly, but don't let it think for you. Don't let it make decisions for you, don't let it reason for you, and don't use it for every single thing except guide and research, just like you would use an encyclopedia or Google, and yes, it works good and it's fast, but when we're letting it create and we're letting it dictate and we're letting it select our laws and we're letting it enforce our laws, that's a really scary, you know, juncture that we're at here with these flock cameras. And people are rightfully worked up. And I, you know, what was it? Not um Spring Hill, Springville, Alabama, is already gonna end their contract. Allegedly, they're considering it to get rid of these because of all the pushbacks. So, you know, they will take them out and end their contracts with Flock or whatever other company they have doing the cameras if we pressure them. So if you care about this, show up to a meeting. Don't just talk about it in the comments, don't just share an article, show up to a meeting and do something about it and let them know how you feel.
SPEAKER_01Your voice does matter, and it it matters now more than ever. And don't wait till it's too late to try to use it.
SPEAKER_00So that that's what I have for tonight. Just a quick little summary there of this congressional primary, which is August 11th. It is right around the corner. Um, getting involved, show up or shut up, as we always say. It is time now to take action, and by action, I don't mean nothing crazy. I mean go to the meetings and express how you feel and write some emails, people. Engaged civically. Nothing criminal, engaged civically, please. I want to be clear.
SPEAKER_01Yes, and go vote, even if you're just drawing a hand turkey on the ballot.
SPEAKER_00If you're voting for Captain Crunch, if you're writing in somebody, at least please vote and let them know that their choices suck.
