expand on this because this is yet another poor translation. 00:07:43.600 --> 00:07:57.279 Now, this is a bit outside our current topic, but I can't let it go because if I do, you'll miss our Lord's this, with a spiritual end and purpose. 00:10:33.759 --> 00:10:40.480 In the plural, miracles which led to something out of and beyond themselves. 00:10:40.639 --> 00:10:54.480 I love this word, finger marks of God, valuable not so much for what they say, what they are as for what they indicate of the grace and power of the doer. 00:10:54.799 --> 00:11:00.799 As I said, the apostle John used this word quite often in his gospel. 00:11:01.120 --> 00:11:17.679 And when we apply to the record of the things our Lord did, instead of using the word miracle, we come to the conclusion that these the King James called the beginning of his miracles. 00:11:44.240 --> 00:11:56.080 Well, the word Simeon was used there originally, therefore, it wasn't so much the beginning of his miracles as it was highlights because I'm just using it as an example. 00:12:08.240 --> 00:12:15.120 Now, you all remember that Jesus had these large jars filled with water, right? 00:12:15.519 --> 00:12:24.639 Well, the jars Jesus chose were the ones that held the water for the Hebrew ritual of cleansing. 00:12:24.799 --> 00:12:28.080 That's what the Gospel of John tells us. 00:12:28.240 --> 00:12:29.039 Now, 00:12:43.679 There must have been plenty of empty wine jars about, don't you think? 00:12:43.840 --> 00:12:50.399 Listen, the reason there was no wine was not because someone forgot to bring it. have done. 00:13:40.720 --> 00:13:54.240 If it was just a matter of making wine, if the miracle was only about the making of the wine, then why are we told at all about the jars that got used? measurement. 00:14:45.600 --> 00:14:50.960 Now, six in the Bible is the number of man. 00:14:51.519 --> 00:14:57.360 Stone water pots are made by human hands out of an earth. 00:14:58.720 --> 00:15:12.720 The purifying of the Jews, that's what those jars were used, those man-made six jars were used for a Jewish religious ritual, the ritual of cleansing. 00:15:13.279 --> 00:15:23.679 And Jesus took those man-made earthly religious objects and filled them up with this sign. 00:15:24.799 --> 00:15:30.320 Jesus was purposely showing in the backdrop of a miracle. 00:15:30.399 --> 00:15:33.279 Can you believe a miracle is in the backdrop? 00:15:33.440 --> 00:15:37.600 That's the point Jesus was making to those belly fillers. 00:15:38.080 --> 00:15:43.600 These are signs, these are things I am teaching you, and you missed it. 00:15:44.399 --> 00:15:50.639 All of those people were probably just glad Jesus made more wine for them so that the party could keep going. 00:15:51.039 --> 00:15:57.600 But Jesus wasn't just making wine, he was telling them something about himself. 00:15:59.360 --> 00:16:09.519 Jesus with this sign was showing that the way of man was to with this miracle was that Jesus was here to take control of human effort and bring it to its long-awaited conclusion. 00:16:33.679 --> 00:16:39.679 The human efforts to reach out to God were
