Kingdom Insight Episode 15 Becoming the Leader God Can Trust. Welcome to Kingdom Insight with Dr. L.K. Leonard, raising Saints back to God through clarity, structure, and spiritual authority. Throughout this season, we've talked about leadership. We talked about leadership drift, leadership alignment, leadership pressure, leadership focus, leadership development, leadership legacy. But today I want to end with a deeper question. Not what are you building? Not what position do you hold. Not how many people follow you. But the question is, what are you becoming? Because leadership is not simply about accomplishing things. Leadership is about becoming the kind of person that God can trust. Today we're talking about becoming a leader God can trust. The first thing is God trusts character before capacity. Luke 16 and 10 say, He who is faithful in little. See, many leaders want great opportunities, they want great influence, they want great responsibility, but God often evaluates faithfulness before expansion. A lot of times we won't be faithful in where we are, we won't be faithful doing what we're doing, but we want expansion. Before God gives more, He watched how we handle what we already have. Character is what sustains what gifting attracts. See, your character, sometimes we have people that have enough gifting to take them places, but they don't have enough character to keep them there. And so God is often more concerned about who you are becoming than what you are building. And a lot of leaders need to catch on to that and realize that it's more uh we're missing out on becoming a better person, becoming a great leader, becoming a great, because we're more uh concerned about building things than about our character being good. We think that we can out uh live our we can out preach our uh character, we can outdo these, and some of us think that we'll be great preachers, that we don't have to live worth nothing, but that is not true. We have to learn that we must become a God trust his character before he trusts his capacity. Number two, private integrity produces public credibility. Psalm 7278 and 72. So he shepherded them according to the integrity of his heart. David flowed from his character. Long before David wore crown, before he was in the palace, he developed integrity. Leadership is not sustained by talent alone. Eventually, your character becomes visible, and the private life always impacts the public life. We have too many people that that don't have integrity in private, they think that they have whatever they you know. You have to learn how to have private integrity, even when no one is looking, even when no one is watching, you have to have private integrity because if whatever you do in the other saying to say whatever you do in the dark will come to light, and so it'll surface, it'll come. They say the cream always rises to the top. Listen, I'm from the country, so you'll understand those type of phrases. See, what you repeatedly do in private eventually becomes visible in public. So listen, we got to have private integrity so that we can produce public credibility. Thirdly, trust is earned through consistency. So many times people think because you don't you because I'm doing a lot of things, you may get a swelling, you may get a great crowd at first, but you have to have character. First Corinthians 4 and 2 says, It is required of stewards that they become be found faithful. See, faithfulness is not really flashing, faithfulness is consistency. Uh, you don't have to be always be out in the forefront, you all have to be doing something, but your faithfulness will always be consistent. You have to do this, you have to be consistent, you have to always be the same. Listen, if you can't be the same person in private that you are in public, don't be don't don't be that person. You need to be the same person, you have to be consistent. You showing up is is what matters. Uh, doing what is right is what matters. Sometimes we're doing a good thing, but it's not the right thing. You have to do what is right, remain dependable, remain trustworthy. Over time, consistency will build trust. Trust is earned through consistency. Trust is built one faithful decision at a time. Fourthly, God expands what he can trust. Matthew 25 and 21 say, Well done, good, and faithful servant. The servant was rewarded because he proved trustworthy. God often expands leaders who have demonstrated stewardship. The question is not, can you handle more? The question is, can God trust you with more? We want more. We know we can, we say we can handle more, but can God trust you with more? What are you gonna do with more? Are you what are you doing with what you have now? Can God trust you with more? The pathway to greater influence is greater faithfulness. Number five. Leadership is ultimately stewardship. 1 Peter 4 and 10. As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another. Leadership is not ownership. Catch that. You don't leadership don't mean you own people. Leadership is stewardship. The people belong to God. Listen, I think a lot of leaders today miss that the people belong to God. They don't belong to you, they're not your people. Ah, my sheep, my people, my no, they belong to God. God has lent them to you, He's allowed you to lead them, He's a steward. The vision that you have belongs to God. If you you you may have a vision, but it should be a vision that God has given you, and it belongs to God. The opportunity that you're even serving or whatever you're doing, it belongs to God. We are simply stewards of what He has entrusted us, entrusted to us. Everything God gives us is an assignment to steward, not a possession to control. As we close this season of Kingdom Insight, remember this. Leadership is not ultimately about position, it's not about titles, it's not about influence, it's not about stewardship, it's about faithfulness, it's about character. It is about stewardship. I mean, I didn't mean to say it's not about stewardship, it's about stewardship, it's about care faithfulness, it's about character, and it's about becoming the kind of leader God can trust. Because when God can trust a leader, he can use them, he can expand them, and he can entrust them with greater responsibility. The greatest leader goal is not success, it's becoming trustworthy in the hands of God. This is kingdom in the sight, leadership, clarity, and structure.
