This week we discuss our favorite movies and tv shows of this decade so far.
Cheers.
SPEAKER_02Oh my god, this is gonna be gonna feel good.
SPEAKER_00That's good. That wasn't too bad.
SPEAKER_02I feel like I just swallowed chlorine.
SPEAKER_00Well, alcohol and chlorine have more in common than you might think. Hello! Welcome back. This week is a little different on the setup side. If you're watching the video, if you're listening to this, it'll sound the exact same. But we have to be somewhere. Yeah, we have to we had to rush. We gotta get things moving and we gotta get out of here. So I didn't have a ton of time to set everything up. So we're doing one camera this week.
SPEAKER_02But we're so committed to this podcast that we're gonna make it happen.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Good stuff. Um this week we're doing our favorite films slash TV shows of the 2020s so far.
SPEAKER_02And it's such a large catalog.
SPEAKER_00There is a lot of good movies.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, yeah. That I'm like, you're like, let's stick to five. I'm gonna throw out just a lot. I'm trying to like not repeat movies. At the same time, I just want to be like, here's my little mention. We love here's a little mention, sinners. Yeah. Again.
SPEAKER_00This is probably we're not gonna go into the two of us.
SPEAKER_02This is just like a Sinners fan club.
SPEAKER_00And what's wrong with that? Nothing. It feels really relevant.
SPEAKER_02It is, you know. Hey, look at me. Unfortunately, it really is.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, there's nothing unfortunate about that.
SPEAKER_02No, well, like I would wish that history had just been kinder, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah, there's that.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00We won't be talking about one battle after another today. Other than that, mentioned right there.
SPEAKER_02I talked to my friend about DTA again last night. Oh my god. We were um Nicholas Maryasub were talking, he was like, Oh, you have to watch Boogie Nights. And I was like, I've heard. I've heard I have to see this thing.
SPEAKER_00That's the one that you have to watch? I mean, that's a good movie.
SPEAKER_02That's when you told me to.
SPEAKER_00I told you to watch There Will Be Blood.
SPEAKER_02Yes, but you also mentioned Boogie Nights.
SPEAKER_00Boogie Nights is good.
SPEAKER_02And I was like, ah, I've heard. And then I was like, I will get around to it, I swear. And then he was like, um Meet with Avatar. I won't get around to it, I swear. He mentioned Mark Wahlberg being in it.
SPEAKER_00And you were like, die. Never mind.
SPEAKER_02Not die. Just pay for your crimes. Keep that in. I said what I said.
SPEAKER_00Anything you wanted to add about Paul and your conversations?
SPEAKER_02Nope, that was it.
SPEAKER_00Okay, that's it. Alright, so do you want to do TV first? Because we always start with movies, so actually we should do TV.
SPEAKER_02Everything's changing just a little bit today.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Do you want to go?
SPEAKER_02Uh sure. Um, yeah. Um, one of the TV shows that I was like thank you in 2020 uh was Normal People.
SPEAKER_00Oh, I haven't seen that.
SPEAKER_02It is there is a lot of lore possibly fans speculate for like what um oh my god, their names are escaping me right now. Help. I don't know. Paul Moscow.
SPEAKER_03Okay, yeah.
SPEAKER_02And um Daisy Edgar Jones.
SPEAKER_00Okay. I don't yeah, I don't know who was in that name.
SPEAKER_02They uh they're like their best friends. I know who they are, but like yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Um, but they played I I want to say maybe they met on this set, um, but they played love interests, and it was just so like pure and like honest, and like are I that it was like, are they acting? Are they acting? Are they and then they're like best friends. And do you ever see like that um Nacosis? I guess it's a meme. I guess it's like at um it might have been at the Met. And um Paul is with his girlfriend, and he's smiling and looking at Daisy. Yes, that's yeah, I've seen that, and that's where people are like, are we sure? Are we sure? I just want to know it's none of my business, and whatever the honest truth is, that's okay, live your truth. We're just curious. And um, that have you ever watched uh One Day with Anne Hathaway? It's like that kind of okay, yeah, yeah, yeah. Where they're just like, bye then, but like, you know, life gets in the way. Always, always, always, always.
SPEAKER_00Life be doing that.
SPEAKER_02Life does that. Life be doing that.
SPEAKER_00All right. That's my no, yeah.
SPEAKER_02I have uh let's go tit for tat.
SPEAKER_00Let's go for tit for tat. So I have a show. Uh The Last of Us.
SPEAKER_02God damn it, that was on their list.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I figured we can both talk about it right now. Okay, go, go, go, go, go. The last of us.
SPEAKER_02How do you feel?
SPEAKER_00Um, I liked season one more than season two, but we all like the first game more than the second. Yeah. And the second one being split into it hurts. Well, that's having played the games, I knew what was coming, obviously. But uh You have or have not? I have. Okay, we're I played both the games before the show, so like I knew what was coming. Um I cried so hard. You cried when I played the game.
SPEAKER_02I yeah. Oh my god, I was like, there's no way this is where that goes.
SPEAKER_00The opening of the game, which is the opening of the first episode, cried during that too. It's one of the saddest things ever. And then they went and hit us with that in the second game, and I was like, never mind, that's the saddest thing.
SPEAKER_02I remember like um was watching in my room, and Jonathan was literally like holding me because I was like sobbing, sobbing. Yeah, which I'm like, it's just so ridiculous because it's like not ridiculous, maybe, but like it's like I know it's coming, I know it's going to happen, but I can't. Hard to watch. But like my soul was crushed, and I was like, I just I she was so helpless.
SPEAKER_00I am very did you play the games? Yeah, okay, yeah, yeah. So I'm curious how not that I'm good at it, but I didn't play. Do you know the ending of the second game? Yes.
SPEAKER_02I'm very curious to see how they do that in the it leaves it open-ended for another season.
SPEAKER_00Right. So I'm just like, I wonder what we're gonna do here. But, anyways, uh The Last of Us is so good. That spin-off episode, or that like um with um what's that from Parks and Rick. Oh my god. What's his name? You know who I'm talking about. Yeah, yeah. That whole storyline that episode that was so good. I loved that.
SPEAKER_02I like I'm happy they got a whole episode. Um I I really appreciate being gay. But like not in like a in like a forced way where like you like watch a show and then like a character being gay has to be like talked about. Because I was like, that was like growing up. If you ever saw a gay character, you had to. They had to say that they were gay like every 10 sentences, just to remind you. Yeah. And you're like, okay, is there anything else? Yeah, that's cool. Cool. But this, but this, also, they have other qualities about being a human. Um, so I I like uh also people that didn't play the video games, and then like just watch the show expecting some apocalyptic thing, and then they got so much more like drama and drama humane.
SPEAKER_00Not as much like, hey, it's a bunch of zombies, and that's what we're focused on.
SPEAKER_02And I was like, they're like, they're just throwing gay things in there, and I'm like, it's actually been there for years. Literally that was the original.
SPEAKER_00All right. What's your next one?
SPEAKER_02Um you can check the notes. That's no, it's not even that. It's because I think the The Last of Us was like Oh, that was the next one.
SPEAKER_00Okay, well then you can just move on.
SPEAKER_01I know, I know, I know. Where do you want me to go? No, no, it's fine, it's fine, it's fine, it's fine.
SPEAKER_02You're gonna cut this out because I know you. Not shut up. Not one of my favorites, but I did want to talk about just a little bit, just to give a little shout. Um, The Outer Banks. Oh yeah. I it's not one of my faves. I am a JJ girl. Down bad. But um, I I appreciated like an original story to be like, oh my god, teenagers finding treasure. We're like, that's such an easy concept. And then like I was talking to Ingy, and they're like, Yeah, so many pirate stories happen in like North Carolina, like the banks, because in like real life, that's where pirates be, I guess.
SPEAKER_03I guess.
SPEAKER_02I don't know, but they're like, that's a common thing, and I was like, no way, for me, this is all brand new, and I really appreciate having like oh my god, yes, like that, like as a childhood. As a childhood?
SPEAKER_00As a childhood.
SPEAKER_02There we go. As a child, I was like, yeah, pirates were like all the time, and I just haven't really gotten that in my adult life.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that was kind of more common back then.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, Pirates of the Caribbean.
SPEAKER_00For sure.
SPEAKER_02A hundred percent. But now what? Name another one. Uh exactly. Exactly. Really good. And we're out there.
SPEAKER_00Black beard. Yeah. You okay?
SPEAKER_02I'm good. You hit the headphone and then I hit the headphone into the mic. So then it just sounded really oh that anyways.
SPEAKER_00That's gonna get cut out.
SPEAKER_02Can you keep it for a blooper for me? Maybe. Thanks. Anyways, yeah, I just wanted to give the Outer Banks a little bit of a shout-out for that one.
SPEAKER_00I'll give a shout-out then to my next one.
SPEAKER_02And I will keep watching. I will watch that. I I was like, listen, even if this show gets Riverdaled, no Tino Shea to Riverdale. We love Lily Reinhart in this house. Um we've talked about River. We've talked about this a little bit, yes. Um, but unfortunately, that is that is the verb I'm gonna go with.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's an accurate verb.
SPEAKER_02Um, I don't care. I'm gonna see where this ends.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yeah. See it through.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, because it's kind of just like more, it's more treasure hunting. And as long as we kind of stick with that storyline.
SPEAKER_00Shows do love to change up the storyline. Shows love to after they got an established thing going on, and they're like, hey, let's change it up.
SPEAKER_02As of right now, it's still the baseline is treasure hunt.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Like euphoria. Totally different story.
SPEAKER_02Hurt my feelings.
SPEAKER_00I know. All right, my next one, Shogun.
SPEAKER_02Oh. Have you seen Shogun? I have not, but I did hear that it was good.
SPEAKER_00It's so good. And I'm a big fan of uh the Japanese like samurai stuff. I always have been. So it was right up my alley, and it's really, really good. I'd love that they actually speak Japanese in it, and like there's like a English character. Well, he's Portuguese, but he speaks English. He would have been speaking Portuguese if it was historically accurate, but you know. You have the one English character, English speaking character that like doesn't know Japanese and he's in the foreign land, so like they actually speak Japanese around him and he has to like learn and adapt, which is awesome. Um, I don't know if you know any of the premise of the story or anything like that, but it's I do not.
SPEAKER_02But I have uh all I really know about Shogun is that people have been like, it's really fucking good.
SPEAKER_00It's very, very good. It's like Game of Thrones, but set in feudal Japan.
SPEAKER_02Hey, I'll take it.
SPEAKER_00You know, it that's kind of the vibes. It's not it's not fantastical like fantastical, you know what I mean. Fantasy. It's not a you know, it's not magic and dragons or anything like that, but it is the vibes of just like that like political drama of of different warring kingdoms and that kind of thing. Um, and it's very, very well done. They're filming season two right now, and I am excited, which is surprising like every other show on my list. I guess The Last of Us still has another season to go. All the rest of them are completed. And could be more. Actually, that's not true at all. Most of my shows still have things coming out for them. I take it all back.
SPEAKER_02Hey.
SPEAKER_00Only one of them is a fully completed.
SPEAKER_02At least they're good and they're coming out with more.
SPEAKER_00Mm-hmm. Well, I didn't do any show that started in the 2010s and like is still going. I had I did all of my stuff.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah. Everything I looked up, I had to be like it had to start coming out. Season one was in the 2020s. And keep going.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00All right. So yeah, Shogun. If you guys haven't seen it, I could not recommend it enough. It is really good. There's a gnarly torture scene in the first episode.
SPEAKER_01Oh god.
SPEAKER_00That is well, it's not even a torture, it's just a horrific death, but you know.
SPEAKER_02Does it mean anything, or was it just to show how gory we can do?
SPEAKER_00It was to sh it was to show how messed up this one character is and how he seeks pleasure in doing bad things to people. Anyways. Yeah. You know, being boiled alive. It's fun.
SPEAKER_02I will talk about one more TV show.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_02Okay. How many more do you have?
SPEAKER_00Three.
SPEAKER_02Oh, shit.
SPEAKER_00I have five and five.
unknownFuck.
SPEAKER_00So if you're gonna talk about one more TV show, it's gonna be Ted Lasso, isn't it?
SPEAKER_02No, it's not.
SPEAKER_00Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_02I'll look at more. Listen, like I said, this was a really, really big category to look through to be like, how do I consolidate? There's a lot. Yeah, and I'm really trying not to like talk about either. I'm not I'm trying not to talk about shows or um Nakosis um movies that I'm like that has its own spotlight later for sure for us to be like, that's a different episode. Yeah. So I'm just trying to specifically find.
SPEAKER_00Shout out some things that we probably and then being like, and then what?
SPEAKER_02And then I was like, when did this show come out? Did that nope, damn it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah. That's easy.
SPEAKER_02Even though it'd be like, I found it then. Right.
SPEAKER_00Um I should go again if you just have one more. Okay. Uh Severance.
SPEAKER_02Mmm.
SPEAKER_00So good.
SPEAKER_02Also very good.
SPEAKER_00So good. That's still ongoing as well. Yeah. But Apple is really just maybe doing well this decade.
SPEAKER_02I got one. Um, I like the concept of it. Have you seen Severance? Yeah, you have.
SPEAKER_00We watched it together. Yes. Yeah. I'm like, who do one of my friends that hasn't seen it? Oh, it's true. Yeah. Um, anyways, yeah. Severance, phenomenal concept.
SPEAKER_02Would you do it?
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_02That's fair. I've thought about it.
SPEAKER_00I thought about it when the show came out of that. I sure thought about it.
SPEAKER_02To be like, would I split myself at Disney?
SPEAKER_00Nah, I can't do it. No, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Well, also, like, this is in the theoretical world where the severance procedure isn't being taken advantage of by the company that's yeah, it's just like it's also like in a in a hypothetical to be like, well, in a hypothetical where we as an audience member know that they have like their own thoughts and feelings and like their own like relationships and connections and that they like yearn to get the fuck out. As opposed to like a person in this universe that's like, hey, I had no idea. Sorry. Right. My fucking bad.
SPEAKER_00Very different thing.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. With the knowledge, no. Without the knowledge, maybe.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. No, I mean, like, I I understand the appeal. Yeah. The appeal is for the outside brain that just never has to think about work. It just works done and then paycheck is there. That's great. I love that. Let's just teleport to the end of the day kind of thing as the outside. But like the inside person is just tortured by only ever having an existence of work.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I think it just also depends on like what are you doing for work. True. Like how monotonous you're doing.
SPEAKER_00If you love your job, that might be like dope.
SPEAKER_02Sick.
SPEAKER_00Great.
SPEAKER_02Awesome.
SPEAKER_00But like having no memories on the other side, like crazy. Because then it's like, okay, you're gonna form relationships that you have no idea about on the outside. You couldn't you could be in a relationship, like a partnership with somebody, and have no idea on the inside. You know, like all sorts of things. Not trying to spoil anything.
SPEAKER_02Um my next show's also Apple TV. It's the studio.
SPEAKER_00Ah, I was this close to putting the studio on the show.
SPEAKER_02The studio's good, and I'm so happy it's getting another season.
SPEAKER_00I know.
SPEAKER_02Episode two winning that award. That's an Emmy, right? Yes. Um Emmy. Well deserved. We should Well deserved.
SPEAKER_00We should do gambling on the Emmys when it comes around and then have a gambling? Have a pie penalty again. Ah maybe you can pie me something.
SPEAKER_02Aren't they coming up?
SPEAKER_00They're not that aren't they?
SPEAKER_02Isn't that soon?
unknownDang it.
SPEAKER_00The Emmy.
SPEAKER_02Do we need another? Are we gonna do another like pie or are we gonna do a different? Oh, you wanna do ghost pepper?
SPEAKER_00September. We don't have to do ghost pepper. Carolina Reaper is what I wanted to do. Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god. Which is worse than ghost pepper.
SPEAKER_02Anyways, um knuckles. Um the studio's so good. I'll spoil it because you should have seen it. And I was saying all of the episodes kind of need each other and at the same time don't. You could totally watch a lot of them. Like they're kind of vignettes and kind of not, like they're still connected.
SPEAKER_00They are connected and like the storyline continues on, but like you can a hundred percent like watch episode four without watching the first three and be like, okay, that's just what's happening. Because it's a relatable thing that we all know. Like they're making movies and like yeah, they run in a movie studio.
SPEAKER_02But if you watch it from the beginning, it'll be better.
SPEAKER_00100%.
SPEAKER_02Um, so the second episode is all in one take.
SPEAKER_00And well, it appears that way. It is. There's hidden cuts.
SPEAKER_02It's great. And I said what I said, and I'm believing where it is.
SPEAKER_00It's very good. And I mean, a lot of that show has tons of one takes like throughout.
SPEAKER_02One show that I have not seen yet, but is from the 20s, and I do need to see for this reason is Adolescence.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I haven't seen it yet, but all I hear are good things, and I it's a decorated in awards.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Um, but that specific episode, I was like, that is genius to be like one take.
SPEAKER_00So well done.
SPEAKER_02Sunset.
SPEAKER_00So well done.
SPEAKER_02Film set. Consistently fucking up the shop.
SPEAKER_00Driving up to the city. Very little decision is so important. Moving back and forth, like it's so good.
SPEAKER_02It's actually detrimental to the entire day on set and the episode. And I'm like, that is fucking brilliant.
SPEAKER_00Television.
SPEAKER_02And in my head, I'm like, let me believe that this was in one take because I will say it.
SPEAKER_00Um watch it with me, I'll ruin it for you.
SPEAKER_02No. Never. I'm letting it be the gold star that it is.
SPEAKER_00It is still a gold star and incredibly important. But like just logistically speaking, you're gonna be able to do it. Let it go in the film of 45.
SPEAKER_02Let it go. Let it go. Um now I've lost my so sorry.
SPEAKER_00The studio. Really good show. Really good. Everybody should go watch it. Seth Rogan kills.
SPEAKER_02The more and more. The more and more that Seth Rogan is alive, the more I'm like banger after banger after banger.
SPEAKER_00Mm-hmm. He just keeps getting better, honestly. He's like a fine wine.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I'm not gonna put my friends out there. I'm not gonna put my friends out there, but one of my friends. They can come on the pod. They can come on the pod and they can come and defend themselves. I'm saying that I'm not gonna say this person's name. But they were like, I've wanted like Seth Rogan has been on their cheat sheet forever. And I was like, I've I love that so much.
SPEAKER_00I want to do the laugh, but I'm not going to.
SPEAKER_01Let's Okay, let's go.
SPEAKER_00Um, I'll I'll go quickly on the last two. Um, one of them being Ted Lasso, which we talked about extensively, and that is that is my number one show of the 2020s. But uh the other one I wanted to talk about is Midnight Mass.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Little Mike Flanagan Netflix horror show. I also could have put The Haunting of Blind Manor because that came out in 2020, but I prefer Midnight Mass. And Follow the House of Usher is also really good. But Midnight Mass is maybe the best miniseries I've ever seen. It's so good. Well, that and Chernobyl, one of the two. But um Chernobyl was 2019, so that did not make the list.
SPEAKER_02You know what did? You know what did come out. And here's the thing. I was mostly looking up things from like 2020, 2021, 2023, 4, 5.
SPEAKER_03Heated rifle read.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, saw that coming. Saw that coming. Surprised you didn't bring it up. Well, you did.
SPEAKER_02Cause I was gonna go early. Trying to be what on that end.
SPEAKER_00I'm like half of them. Once we got to movies, half of them came out in the last year and a half.
SPEAKER_02I I'm trying not to do that. But you know, we'll talk about it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Uh Midnight Mass. If you haven't seen it and you're into horror, go watch. Just go watch that.
SPEAKER_02Like it go have a good time.
SPEAKER_00It's so good. Happy Halloween. There's some awesome just like questions about life and death and the afterlife. Religion. Religion, abuse of religion, religion in different forms.
SPEAKER_02Just I love l religious trauma.
SPEAKER_00Ah, it's so good. Midnight Mass. All right, let's talk about movies because we are twenty Six minutes into the show already.
SPEAKER_02Easy. The first one going early, early back, is Coda.
SPEAKER_00Coda's great.
SPEAKER_02Coda's so good.
SPEAKER_00Coda is great.
SPEAKER_02I love that.
SPEAKER_00That's an Apple TV one, too, isn't it? Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Apple just out. I love it. Yeah. Children of Deaf Adults. Really interesting. Here's the thing. Representation will always be. No, but it was nominated. It was nominated. The actors in it, I believe, did win, I want to say.
SPEAKER_00But uh Was that Nomad Land that won that year? Maybe. I think so. I don't know. I could have my ears off. Anyways, go on. Coda.
SPEAKER_02Coda. I love the representation in it. I love as I I love hearing stories that I wouldn't have just naturally thought of in my day life. Such interesting.
SPEAKER_00Saying a different perspective.
SPEAKER_02Or I'm like, uh, I never really thought about like if I was able to hear my parents bucking, but they can't.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_02Or like I having the music at like 50 in my truck, and like my dad being like, I don't know, I can just feel vibrations. So I don't, I don't know what this sounds like. Or like I can slam every door and no one's gonna yell at me for that.
SPEAKER_00Who really cares? Nope.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Little things like that where I'm like, I would have never really thought about that. My very first job, this one was the craziest fucking thing I've ever seen in like in person in my own fucking life. My first job was working at Burger I'm um in Santa Ana. It's closed down now. All right.
SPEAKER_00COVID killed it.
SPEAKER_02No, maybe um probably it was 2019, so yeah, right? Yeah. And um, I was learning Sci language, and um, I remember like this other employee came from the back and was like, Hey, there's deaf people. And I was like, cool. And they're like, they they want to order and sign, and I was like, This is my time to shine, and also like this is gonna be rough.
SPEAKER_00Um I'm scared you start out with I'm not very good at this.
SPEAKER_02Oh, I got up there and I I like signed my name, and then um the wife was like really excited to like sign with somebody. The husband was not fucking having it. He's like, No, I'm not doing that, I'm not playing this game. And so just like wrote down their order like in a text message, and I was like, Oh, okay. Um, I was gonna try at the very I would have like, you know, also been like, here's what my screen looks like. Does this look good? Just to double check. Yeah, be like, did I understand this correctly? Um, and then she's trying to sign, and he's literally like smacking her hands down, and I was like, uh uh uh Okay, this is awkward now. And then so as they put in their orders and then they go and like sit down at the table. They did not take it to go. They sat down at the tables and they're literally fighting and they're just hitting each other's hands. And I'm like, that's that's an argument.
SPEAKER_00It's just an argument, yeah.
SPEAKER_02And then I'm like, you if you could just close your eyes.
SPEAKER_00They could yeah.
SPEAKER_02That's fucking insane. I'm like, that's such a crazy pull to be like, I don't want to hear it. This is all you get.
SPEAKER_00We're not talking anymore. Eyes closed. No, no, open them and listen. Yeah, listen feels like the wrong word.
SPEAKER_02You know, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Pay attention.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm like, I never thought about people being like, they're signing, and then you can just sign language, yeah. I don't want to hear it. I don't care what you have to say.
SPEAKER_00That is the equivalent.
SPEAKER_02But like physical.
SPEAKER_00I know. Well, their only way of communicating is physical.
SPEAKER_02I know. I I had to stand behind the counter and just like hold it together. But I was like, I was one, trying not to laugh, but two, I was like in awe, and my face definitely showed it because my jaw like dropped and I had to turn around.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Because I was like, I've never thought about that being an option.
SPEAKER_00I haven't either until this moment. Coda is very good.
SPEAKER_02So Coda was really good. Coda's a really good movie. Please check it out.
SPEAKER_00Um let's just get this one out of the way. Sinners.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_00Uh yeah.
SPEAKER_02We don't have to go in chronological order.
SPEAKER_00Nope. I'm gonna just skip because that was my number four on my list. But I was just like, let's talk. Sinners, yep. Yeah, what a phenomenal movie. We've correct we've waxed for a long time about it.
SPEAKER_02We'll bring it up every single time.
SPEAKER_00Maybe one time we'll we'll maybe one more time. Maybe, maybe maybe like 40 episodes from now.
SPEAKER_02It just keeps coming up naturally.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but 40 episodes from now, it's gonna be like the one year anniversary of it winning all those awards, so you know.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, yeah. So we'll talk about it again. It's one year coming out, just happened.
SPEAKER_00True.
SPEAKER_02So a little baby. Little baby one.
unknownAll right.
SPEAKER_00Should blow it again. I'm gonna do another one because, you know. Uh Dune.
SPEAKER_02Really?
SPEAKER_00Dune.
SPEAKER_02You know, that's fair.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02That's fair.
SPEAKER_00I like the first one more than the second one, which is an unpopular opinion. Most people like the second one more because it's more action-y, whatever. Anyways, both I'll just say both of them. It's really just excellent, excellent, excellent sci-fi. Just peak. Denny Villeneuve, you know what you're doing, my guy. Maybe the best director in Hollywood, honestly. And I'm you know I'm anoland boy. But uh, yeah. Dune. Score is perfect, production design's perfect, the friggin' visuals are perfect, the sounds awesome. The acting's great. Anyways.
SPEAKER_02Challengers.
SPEAKER_00I knew that was coming. Really? Oh, I told I I could have probably written your list for you. Alright. Alright. I wouldn't have written Coda. Like I would coda wouldn't have been on the list. I wouldn't know.
SPEAKER_02Coda's been on my top for a while.
SPEAKER_00We haven't ever talked about Coda, honestly.
SPEAKER_02I think if you asked me like top ten, okay. That it would be like number Fair enough. Six or seven.
SPEAKER_00Challengers.
SPEAKER_02Challengers. You do love Zende.
SPEAKER_00Wait, I feel like I know what your number one's gonna be.
SPEAKER_02I did not put this in like a numbered order.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_02I put this in I tried to put it in chronological order, but now we said no.
SPEAKER_00I just yeah.
SPEAKER_02Okay, cool.
SPEAKER_00I was like, we need to talk. Let's just talk about it. I did it in a numerical order of my favorites.
SPEAKER_02So I also was just like, I want to make sure that like movies I don't get to talk about often. Challengers Challengers was amazing, and I'll bring it up again in June. You know why. Happy Pride.
SPEAKER_00We'll just talk heated rivalry in June then. How about that? Maybe I'll have seen it by then. I have this month to watch it. So you'd rather me watch that.
SPEAKER_02Six hours. It's six hours of your life.
SPEAKER_00What about Avatar?
SPEAKER_02It's six hours of your life.
SPEAKER_00You want me to watch that over Avatar? Yes. Alright.
SPEAKER_02Because this one is only six hours.
SPEAKER_00I'll watch episode one. Maybe I'll watch episode one tonight after you leave. Maybe.
SPEAKER_03Please.
SPEAKER_00I'll try. Please. I'll I'll watch the first episode before we do another. The next time we have talk into these microphones, I will review an episode of Hero Rivalry.
SPEAKER_02And I'll sit there and be mad about it.
SPEAKER_00And I'll probably be like, eh. And then it'll just piss you off. And then I'll be like, no, it was really good. I just wanted to piss you off. That'll probably be what happens.
SPEAKER_02Challengers is really good.
SPEAKER_00Challengers is great. I love the I mean, obviously.
SPEAKER_02The score is phenomenal.
SPEAKER_00The score is great.
SPEAKER_02I've had an anxiety.
SPEAKER_00The camera on the ball entire fucking movie.
SPEAKER_02No, no calm whatsoever. Love this theory, random. Um, of like the daughter, spoilers, sure. Um, Mike and Zendaya's daughter is actually Connor and Zendaya's. And that like that, you watch Challengers, yeah? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I was like, when you said like the ball, I was like, so you've definitely seen it. Um that like that that one night that they had, and I was like, You never know. No, it's she's the same age. The daughter is the age of the night that they fucked.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Yeah. So I'm like, and I was like, yeah, that kid does not look like Mike. She has dark hair. Coincidence? I know. Maybe.
SPEAKER_00Maybe not. I kind of like that theory.
SPEAKER_02I like that.
SPEAKER_00That makes it fun.
SPEAKER_02And it's like in my head, I'm like, I have a feeling that like um Mike Feist's character, no. He like knows it's not his daughter.
SPEAKER_00Oh, you can always do a DNA test, but I don't know if you want to see the results.
SPEAKER_02This is where people learned how to yearn again. This is where people learned how to get down on their fucking knees and crawl. And uh I want it done again and again and again and again and again. Challenges is really it was and uh it's so what else is it? Zendaya.
SPEAKER_00I mean, yeah, Zendaya. Zendaya.
SPEAKER_02Uh her all of it, all of them for me, truly. I'm just like, every at least at some point in their movie, I can be like, that was real. That was honest, that was pure, that was pure frustration, that that was anger, that was love. That was good. It was really, really good.
SPEAKER_00He did do call me by your name. Same director.
SPEAKER_02Oh. I was like, I didn't say anything.
SPEAKER_00No, no, I was just like, isn't he the I was gonna be like, isn't he the one that directed Call Me by Your Name? And then I was like, Am I wrong about this? I looked it up. Nice. Because I gotta be right.
SPEAKER_02Your turn.
SPEAKER_00Correct. I don't care about being right, actually. Factually correct. Anyways, it's an autism thing. Okay. Um, the next film, which we've never talked about on this show, Project Hail Mary.
SPEAKER_02We don't have a whole episode dedicated to it at all.
SPEAKER_00It's just me talking about Project Hail Mary for half an hour. Space.
SPEAKER_02I was also in my list to talk about like if we're gonna if it's gonna get to like 2026, Project Hail Mary.
SPEAKER_00That is one of the best films of this decade. There's no doubt about it.
SPEAKER_02My friends have um now deemed my my my work friends have now deemed my that I try to get like babies to look at my camera. They're like, Rocky? And I was like, I guess you're right.
SPEAKER_00Kind of.
SPEAKER_02Does it sound like it?
SPEAKER_00A little bit, yeah. Sounds like R2D2 too, so yeah.
SPEAKER_02It works. I'll take it.
SPEAKER_00Getting a Rocky tattoo.
SPEAKER_02No, I can't.
SPEAKER_00You could. Oh, I can't. You totally could. I can't. Right next to the eyes.
SPEAKER_02I can't. No. I thought about it at the very least, but I can't do it. You could. No.
SPEAKER_00Watch it again.
SPEAKER_02No.
SPEAKER_00Maybe it'll change your mind.
SPEAKER_02I will paint something in the world.
SPEAKER_00Project Hail Mary. I'm not gonna talk anymore about it. Dirty dirty dirty. We've done it too much. Amaze, amaze. Amaze my bedroom! The Artemis um commander, I forget his name, uh, was at the Formula One race today and like shaking hands with all of the winners.
SPEAKER_02That's cool. Suck. And I was like, nice. I love when people I love when cool people just like get opportunities like that. Yeah. Fuck yeah. Fuck yeah, dude. Saltburn.
SPEAKER_00Oh okay. I could have written your list. I really could have.
SPEAKER_02Really? I'm gonna throw another one in here that I'm like, I don't think maybe I don't think that you would have put this on me on here for me. I did think about talking about Malcolm and Marie or at least like just saying it because it is my favorite movie. But no, that's not the one I'm holding in my pocket. Okay. Um, Saltburn though. Yeah, I feel like we moved on a little too fast from it. It had a big moment, it had a big impact, but we moved on a little too quick. Still haven't seen it. From are you fucking kidding me?
SPEAKER_03No.
SPEAKER_02Bitch.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02What?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02What? Oh my god. I can't I don't even I can't even say things because it's gonna ruin big things.
SPEAKER_00Well, you don't mind spoiling other movies that I've not seen before.
SPEAKER_02This one's different. This one, uh no, I can't.
SPEAKER_00Alright.
SPEAKER_02The rest of you know what I'm talking about.
SPEAKER_00If you've seen it.
SPEAKER_02Dirt Tub.
SPEAKER_00I know. I don't want bathtubs to be ruined, you know?
SPEAKER_02Um, what else? Uh uh. Uh a tube. Isn't um and who's in that film?
SPEAKER_00It's um Barry Kyogen and Manny Boy.
SPEAKER_02The ones that you're mainly concerned about and are trying to have fuck for like two hours.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, there's another okay, I didn't, this is not my list, but a different Barry Kyogen film that's very different. The Banches of Inishiran. I was like super good.
SPEAKER_02I had a hard time with it a little bit.
SPEAKER_00It's so, so very differently paced than a lot of conventional movies for sure. But I don't know. Maybe it's just my love for Ireland. I just I'm just like, it's like, it's nice.
SPEAKER_02It's just in my head, I was like, just let him not be your fucking friend, okay? This is getting worse and worse.
SPEAKER_00It's you were my friend yesterday.
SPEAKER_02I'm like, that is deep at the same time, I'm like, that is deeply upsetting to be like we're just not gonna be friends anymore.
SPEAKER_00I mean, I've done that to people. But they didn't freak out like that. It felt like it was like a big thing.
SPEAKER_02They didn't like cut off their fucking fingers and be like, every time you bother me, you get another one.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that was a bit extreme.
SPEAKER_02That was a lot. That was a lot, where I'm like, this this I guess overarching message where I'm like, yeah, that that that sucks in your adult life for sure. The punishment for it isn't insane, and then there's Barry Hogan that's like, I love you, let me have a chance, and she's like, please.
SPEAKER_00I know it's sad. The whole film's kind of sad.
SPEAKER_02Why don't you love me?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you're like, please stop, anyways. Okay, okay, yeah, you can't talk about saltburn.
SPEAKER_02I can't, actually. It's gonna ruin the movie, like holistically. Like, can't not even like I can give you like tiny spoilers where I'm like, you know what, you'll still enjoy the movie. I like I the spoilers are needed for the movie.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Would you rather me watch Saltburn or Heated Rivalry?
SPEAKER_02Tonight.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, heated Rivelry. I'm not watching Saltburn without Amanda. I'm gonna make her sit through that.
SPEAKER_02Oh, babes. Oh, baby, baby girl. Love you, dear. Can I be in the room? I want to watch it with y'all. Okay. It's been a second since I've seen it, anyways. Okay. Um, just so I can I'm gonna have free time at something at it, I'll be like, and then we can do that.
SPEAKER_00You're just gonna look at us the whole time.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Yeah. And then I'll be like, Oh, I love to watch things.
SPEAKER_00That's literally me. That's literally me watching movies with people.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it can only be annoying with other people that like to be annoying in films to do that. Otherwise, if there's other people that are like, hey, I really don't like talking during movies, because I get it. When I'm watching a movie for the first time, I need you to shut the fuck up.
SPEAKER_00In theaters, yeah.
SPEAKER_02In in spaces. I other if I I don't want to hear who's directing it. I don't want to hear how did this get made. The only words that I want to hear if I'm watching a movie for the first time are, oh fuck. Oh, oh, that's all I want to hear.
SPEAKER_00You want to hear reactions to it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I need to watch the movie as it is.
SPEAKER_00That's understandable. And I think that most people would agree with you on that.
SPEAKER_02But you know, you watched it a couple times, and you'd be like, isn't that fucking crazy?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00I also like doing that.
SPEAKER_02I don't think that you would put this on my list because I don't think that you know how much I actually really like this movie.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_02A Quiet Place Day One.
SPEAKER_00It's not that good of a movie.
SPEAKER_02I like it.
SPEAKER_00I really like it. I know I love the Quiet Place movies.
SPEAKER_02They're so good.
SPEAKER_00I love Lapita Nuanga, don't get me wrong.
SPEAKER_02Oh, she's stunning.
SPEAKER_00That movie was mid.
SPEAKER_02Oh, so you hate me.
SPEAKER_00That's that's what I said.
SPEAKER_02That's crazy.
SPEAKER_00I'll just put subtitles under what I just said, and I hate you.
SPEAKER_02God, I can't believe you're gonna call me a slur in front of this camera with all of these mics.
SPEAKER_00I watched that movie on a plane also for the first time.
SPEAKER_02I watched that in theaters.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, no. I just I heard it got bad reviews, and then I was like, I really like it. Which is not like I don't think you should not watch a movie because it has bad reviews. That's that's stupid. So I did watch it because I love the first and second.
SPEAKER_02Romance in the apocalypse on the first day of the apocalypse.
SPEAKER_00It just I wanted a quiet place movie, and it really wasn't.
SPEAKER_02I really liked it.
SPEAKER_00But that's maybe just because I love the first one.
SPEAKER_02The first one's that top tier. That was original. Top tier. Original thinking. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Other John Krasinski.
SPEAKER_02There was a lot of good good movies for horror that I was looking through, like in this decade, where I was like, yeah, yeah, that came out recently. In a way. Excuse me. I was trying September for a while.
SPEAKER_00Wasn't it summer 2020? No, it was 2019.
SPEAKER_02No, I was like, no, it was earlier.
SPEAKER_00Florence.
SPEAKER_02Florence.
SPEAKER_00Anyways. Uh yeah, I would not have picked that one. I I love it.
SPEAKER_02I really, really like it. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Maybe I should rewatch it.
SPEAKER_02But one of it's one of those things where like, um, I I've gotten a lot of like free movie posters for going to the movies. That is that one and the double strata are the only ones that I've saved.
SPEAKER_00Nice. We're gonna talk about that.
SPEAKER_02We'll talk about that later. We'll talk about that.
SPEAKER_00Okay, um, let's get moving because we're 45 minutes in now and you need to get going. I'll be okay.
SPEAKER_02It's 5 30. Oh shit. Okay, we're gonna go.
SPEAKER_00Okay, okay, okay, okay. Go, go, go. Uh, everything everywhere all at once.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Yeah. All right. That was my last yeah. All right. It wasn't like my last last. I could also, I was just gonna be like, and and and and black phone and nope, and and more horror. That was really good. That needs to be talked about more, but I also know that like when we get to like October and we're gonna go.
SPEAKER_00We're gonna do a whole horror movie. We're gonna probably do horror movies all of October, just different categories of horror movies.
SPEAKER_02I really fuck with horror.
SPEAKER_00I do too. I love it.
SPEAKER_02It's so good. Yeah, you know us by now, guys. This is episode 11.
SPEAKER_00Anyways, everything everywhere other ones.
SPEAKER_02Oh, so good. I love my tattoos.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I love that movie. What a weird way. What a weird movie. But what an interesting perspective.
SPEAKER_02What a comforting thing, in a way.
SPEAKER_00So good.
SPEAKER_02There's so many timelines that we're a part of right now. And so many lives that we could be living. And we're here.
SPEAKER_00The acting in that movie is unbelievable.
SPEAKER_02Stunning. I love it. And it feels like they love it. Like it feels like the directors and the writers and uh fuck even the editors. So I was like, no, you love this. What you passion project. Not just like what you're creating, but like the story and everything that like went into like making it be from like from the concepts to the set to post-production, all of it felt like I can't fucking believe that I'm here right now. I love this so much.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Fuck.
SPEAKER_00It's so good. It's so good. That movie makes me feel things like most movies do not. Like ah, trauma.
SPEAKER_02Not just trauma. There is hope in that movie.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02I've never been more like God.
SPEAKER_00I didn't relate to the hopeful parts.
SPEAKER_02You don't want to do laundry and taxes.
SPEAKER_00Well, yeah, that part's great.
SPEAKER_02Isn't that hopeful? It's sad.
SPEAKER_00That scene is so but that in that universe, they never were together, and he's saying that to her, you know?
SPEAKER_02Like it's like this man that's always been there. That is her reality. So it's like, how lucky are you to be? I'm gonna start crying.
SPEAKER_00In the universe where she is the least successful version of herself according to the standards of the world.
SPEAKER_02Right, is where like she is absolutely like flourishing in other parts of her. Because there's other like there's also like in some like lives where like you don't accept your daughter as she is, and that turned her into this fucking universe.
SPEAKER_00Universal, yeah, multiversal destructive entity.
SPEAKER_02Does not give a fuck about other people, yeah. And in this universe, she's just a normal girl, and you have the chance to fix your relationship with her and your father, your sister, and your husband and the tax inspectors. Little little minute choices to be like, oh, I could have given you these divorce papers right now, but because a fucking butterfly f flapped its wings and I turned left, that's not the decision that happened. That's insane. It's so, so so if you think about it, like, you know, people the butterfly effect has been around for for so so long, but the way that it's translated in this movie is so that movie's amazing.
SPEAKER_00It's amazing. It deserved every single bit of Praise it got, and then some. And if you hate on that movie, we are not friends.
SPEAKER_02Get off my channel.
SPEAKER_00Go away. This is not the place for you. I have one more. Um but I'll just briefly talk about it and then we can talk about what we've seen and we get out of here. Uh Oppenheimer, as you know that Barbenheimer. Barbenheimer. Yeah, no. I mean, Barbie's fun.
SPEAKER_02I did like the it had a really big impact on the world.
SPEAKER_00Barbie was great, but Oppenheimer was elite. My favorite Killian Murphy performance, maybe my favorite Robert Downey Jr. performance, too, honestly. This is the best script no one's ever done. I mean, it's just really, really, really, really good. It's three hours of talking, basically. Oppenheimer is really good. And that's all I have to say about that. What have you seen?
SPEAKER_02So like the movie was good. What? The actual taking of the Manhattan Project. I don't know about that.
SPEAKER_00Uh I think that I mean the explosion?
SPEAKER_02You think that that was great?
SPEAKER_00The actual explosion?
SPEAKER_02Yes, is what I'm is the joke I'm making. The actual explosion.
SPEAKER_00I know that there's maybe not. Yeah, well, the explosion from the movie is my only like qualm with it, in that it didn't really look like a nuke, but he wanted to do it all practical, but you know.
SPEAKER_02What I have seen.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, what have you seen, Miss Red Carpet? Stop hitting the mic, it hurts.
SPEAKER_02Sorry. I watched The Double Wears Prada 2.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And I'm very, very proud of myself in a way that, like, this was complete accident. That um um um Dom took me to a screening and it was a whole event, and it was beautiful.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, Miss Glambot.
SPEAKER_02Yes, my first Glambot. Uh, my first official glam bot. That's crazy.
SPEAKER_00That was a long one too. It just kept going.
SPEAKER_02I know.
SPEAKER_00It's usually just like boop.
SPEAKER_02I was just like I felt very I felt very pretty, and I was very nervous. I was a little tipsy because I started drinking in line, and by the time that I got to the front, I was like, I've only eaten breakfast.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that'll do it.
SPEAKER_02Um, this lemon drop is huge because they put it in a whole glass, or just like this is the ingredients of a lemon of a lemon drop as a full drink. Um that'll do it. That'll do it.
SPEAKER_00Um you do love your lemon cocktails.
SPEAKER_02I do. I do. Yes, that's my favorite. Um, yeah, and I remember going up there and he was like, Do you have any ideas? And I was like, I'm so nervous. And he's like, What do you naturally do? And I was like, I play with my hair a lot, and he was like, run with it. And I was like, Okay, cool, sounds good. Do it, but what I was what um uh a secret goal of mine this year was to take my first Getty image, and that was accomplished, and but it was an accident.
SPEAKER_00Hey, who cares?
SPEAKER_02I I didn't I didn't that that photo that I'm like one it's so it's pretty, I feel pretty in it, and um, it was a candidate.
SPEAKER_00Fantastic.
SPEAKER_02I didn't know that I'm getting like my photo taken at all. I was just doing this really quick runway, and then I did it again at night because I did not feel confident in that walk, and I just wanted to do it one more time. But the picture is from the first walk I did, and I was like, oh my, I I had no idea. And then Dom sent it to me, and I was I literally screamed at work.
SPEAKER_00That's super cool, very cool.
SPEAKER_02Um, anyways, uh back to the actual fucking movie.
SPEAKER_00Um we love Meryl Streep.
SPEAKER_02We love Meryl Streep. This movie, uh again, uh I I think a good sequel, a good Disney sequel. Um it had it had the jokes, it had the like, oh, like because if you like watch it in like 2006, you're like, couldn't say that. Right. You can't call a size six fat. By no means is a size six fat. Crazy. Also, or I'm like, uh, I don't like pee I don't like body shaming. It really, it really fucking gets under my skin. Yeah. Where I'm like, but do I love the Devil Wars Prada? Near and dear to my heart. The second one as well. And they they they do they poke fun at the like at the fat shaming and and and the the body image, um, but in a way that you're like, that's so real of you. That ha ha ha you would, your character would. And we we're we're like, that's not right, and it's funny. Laugh at yourself. Um my scene did get cut. Yeah, it's okay. It's okay. Listen, listen, I do background work, and I'm not ashamed of that. I have a great time on set. Um would it have been cool to see myself? Of course. It's always cool to see yourself for like three seconds on a big screen.
SPEAKER_00We've already seen you on a big screen many times.
SPEAKER_02But it's okay.
SPEAKER_00It's okay. Uh you still got to go to that event, which is awesome. You have to be on that set on that day, which is awesome.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I got to have my tiny moment when you're going to be able to get it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Um, and it honestly, like, as I'm watching the movie, yeah, that would not have made sense. The scene, the scene that got cut would not have made sense in this movie.
SPEAKER_00Then they cut it for valid reasons.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it was it was correct. Maybe one day you'll see it as like that kind of a thing where I'm like, because it was still cute.
SPEAKER_00Go buy the film and see if they have a deleted scene personal.
SPEAKER_02It's still like DVD.
SPEAKER_00There you go.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but it was it it I in my personal opinion, worth the watch. Okay, very nostalgic. The fucking Is it most of it in Italy? Outfits, yeah, like half of it.
SPEAKER_00It's like at the Milan fashion show. I love Stanley Tucci.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, Milan in New York. Half an uh the entire, oh my god, the outfits are so fucking good. Anne Hathaway has the wardrobe budget, bitch.
SPEAKER_00Well, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Fuck.
SPEAKER_00It is a devil wears product.
SPEAKER_02I mean, you can it's so good. But again, but the first movie, like, she's supposed to be unfashionable, and that's kind of her thing. But now, but now she's like, I'm going to have somebody watch this movie and paint every single one of her outfits and just put it as a little picture.
SPEAKER_03That's cool.
SPEAKER_02They're really, really pretty. They were so cute. And that was like part of like the audience reactions as we're like watching this film. We're just like, okay. Oh. Okay, Andy got a budget. Andy makes money. Ugh. No, yeah, I had a great time.
SPEAKER_00Alright.
SPEAKER_02You and you, Ud. What did I watch? I watched other things, but here's here we are.
SPEAKER_00Um, I haven't watched any movies since we last saw each other, but uh this is so different. I don't watch a lot of things right now. I'm very busy. But um, me and Amanda I'll watch enough for the both of us. We watch our our little Gordon Ramsey show, um Master Chef, which is just started a new season like two weeks ago. Um this season is uh Battle of the Different Continents. So they're doing like Asia Pacific and they're doing Europe and they're doing Africa and they're doing North America or Americas. Um so it's just auditioning those four. The first four episodes will be the those four categories. Um I really liked the Nigerian uh and the Vietnamese guy that got picked. Um so we'll see what happens. Me and Amanda watch that show every year, and we have a game that we play where we have to ch uh like guess who the winner is going to be by the time they get to the top ten. Nice. We have to just like pick a favorite. Just that person. That's the one I think is gonna win. And the first two years we did it, I got it right. We picked the same person the second year, but we we both got it right the second year. But the first year, and then last year we did it, and my person was the person that was eliminated in the tenth episode, like with at the top ten. I was like, well, and Amanda's made it to the finals but didn't win. But uh yeah, anyways. I love me some Gordon Ramsay and some cooking, and the only other thing I've been watching is Stanley Tucci's uh Italy uh show on National Geographic, which came out last year while I was in Italy, so I never actually watched it, but I've been nostalgic for Italy this week, so I've just been watching it.
SPEAKER_02Go watch the Double Wars prodigal. You'll really enjoy Hollywood. Probably will. It's really good.
SPEAKER_00I love Stanley Tucci, he's great.
SPEAKER_02He's the fucking gem of Hollywood. Absolutely.
SPEAKER_00And they just got their Walk of Fames, right?
SPEAKER_02Did he?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. The stars. Oh Meryl Streep was like presenting at it.
SPEAKER_02I yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I'm pretty sure. I think Emily Blunt and um and Stanley Tucci did. Oh or Ann Hathaway did. I don't know. Go see. Yeah, I don't know. I don't know. Yeah, yeah. There's a whole clip on there. And Meryl Streep's uh speech was great, anyways. Um I love her, she's so good.
SPEAKER_02I love her so good.
SPEAKER_00I've been seeing so much PR from them for this film and just like all the little interviews with all the people and like yeah.
SPEAKER_02As they deserve.
SPEAKER_00100%. So yes, um, we're recording this on a Saturday, so no euphoria update quite yet. That'll be next episode.
