On this week's episode we discuss some films that should have never had sequels made for them.

SPEAKER_01

Cheers.

SPEAKER_00

Cheers. Welcome to the Shot On Film Podcast. Every fucking time. I need a napkin.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, but um well.

SPEAKER_00

It's fine.

SPEAKER_02

Use the couch.

SPEAKER_00

Ew. My God. Hey guys. It's good to see you.

SPEAKER_02

Hello.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_02

Um, we're back on the on the one camera because we're busy. Time.

SPEAKER_00

Yep. Time editing. We're squeezing things in. You'll hear about it soon, I promise.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. There's a few things going on. Um, oh. I should show you the music video when we're done here.

SPEAKER_00

Oh shit. Oh, fast!

SPEAKER_02

I did it the first day. Nice. It was well cut one. Cut one.

SPEAKER_00

This is not staying up.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, well, you know.

SPEAKER_00

I'm gonna hold it.

SPEAKER_02

Sorry. I uh was finishing research just now.

SPEAKER_00

Ah. I want to preface this with I don't want beef with anybody, please.

SPEAKER_02

We should preface most episodes with that.

SPEAKER_00

We should. Um sorry, I just took two shots of of of double shots? Are those knots?

SPEAKER_02

They're shot glasses.

SPEAKER_00

That's a shot and a half. You can't tell me that that's a knot. It's a two-ounce shot glass. Does that mean two?

SPEAKER_02

Usually a shot is two ounces, I'm pretty sure.

SPEAKER_00

There's no fucking way.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Look at them.

SPEAKER_02

How big is a normal sized shot?

SPEAKER_00

It's gonna be like one point something.

SPEAKER_02

Of course.

SPEAKER_00

I'm saying one point five.

SPEAKER_02

One point five is the typical. Interesting.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, so just a little bit more than a shot. So I've I've had two and a half shot now. High five.

SPEAKER_02

Uh we don't want any beef.

SPEAKER_00

Yes. Um need to preface preface this with we don't want any beef. And um it's not that these were all like bad movies. It's and and we appreciate all of the hard work and love that went into making them, and I'm I hope that they were fucking fun. Here's my fucking problem. Um, is that yeah, I I think it's smart to only, you know, not only, but I think it's smart to like talk about the things that you love and like not always shit on the things that you hate. Um but if you don't say if you only say things that you like and you don't say things that you don't like. Where am I going with this? Anyways, um it's not to say that these movies are bad. It's to say that the original movie was really good and did it need a sequel. That's up for debate.

SPEAKER_02

And that's why we're talking about it.

SPEAKER_00

And so we're here. Uh we do still want to work with these people. We do still think that the work is incredible.

SPEAKER_02

You're about to say some fun things, aren't you? No. Like, I'm so curious what's on your list that's got you saying this.

SPEAKER_00

You know, it's just kind of a preface for it.

SPEAKER_02

Alright, alright, all right. Fair enough.

SPEAKER_00

Um do still want to work with these people. Was the sequel necessary? This is what we're here to talk about. Because I don't need to talk about favorite things all the fucking time. Anyways, going on. Um, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I have one.

SPEAKER_00

Go for it.

SPEAKER_02

So there's a movie that I really liked in college, um, and I watched it a number of times. Um because of its uh well, fantastic directing and pacing and horror elements while being a uh movie from the 70s that has effects that definitely don't stand up uh nowadays. Um and that movie is a little Steven Spielberg film called Jaws. Um the thing is Jaws is fun. I I like Jaws. The other ones did not need to be made.

SPEAKER_00

I would love to add to that. But I have not seen any Jaws movie.

SPEAKER_02

Not even the original? No. Aww. Jaws is good.

SPEAKER_00

I know, I know, I know it's something I should watch.

SPEAKER_02

Jaws is really fun.

SPEAKER_00

It just it's always on the list of movies you should watch, and you keep it.

SPEAKER_01

And you should watch it.

SPEAKER_00

And the thing just keeps going, and I have I love you, Steven. I'm so sorry. I just don't have interest in sharks. I'm sorry. I was a shark in high school, that was my mascot, and I've never seen Jaws. I'm sorry.

SPEAKER_02

Go on. Okay, then I have nothing else to say about Jaws.

SPEAKER_00

I just bad about that because I was like, I just hadn't, I don't know if there was anything else to say about Jaws, and that I would add to it, but I haven't seen the movie yet.

SPEAKER_02

So there's a mosquito in here.

SPEAKER_00

Maybe I'll fight you later and say that the sequel was completely fucking necessary. Um Toy Story did not need to be.

SPEAKER_02

After I just said two weeks ago Toy Story 2 is top five Pixar film.

SPEAKER_00

Sure, we could have stopped at three. I think we could have stopped, we could have stopped at two. We could have stopped at one, but like we could have stopped at one, we could have stopped at two, three is really good. The end of it.

SPEAKER_02

You know, you almost died at the end. It should have just been the end.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know if I wanted them to die. I'm okay with them being in a daycare. Like the being them being in a daycare makes the most sense. And then being like, what happened to Bo Peep, bitch. Ah. And now we're having a fifth, and it's bringing in Woody Balding, which is How's that even happen? I don't know, but it's kind of funny. Because you know wear and tear on toys. Um but a tablet being the enemy, and like I guess it'll have like good commentary, but it just feels like Boo. And I feel like then we're gonna get like Toy Story 7, and I'm gonna lose my fucking mind.

SPEAKER_02

I think give it a few years. It's coming. You just know it's coming. They can't help themselves.

SPEAKER_00

Uh at what point does Toy Story just turn into Wreck It Ralph?

SPEAKER_02

Wreck It Ralph is the arcade Toy Story.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

You think they'll just merge and they'll be like, now we're done.

SPEAKER_02

Like a Justice League movie or an Avengers movie of combining Pixar characters into one? Uh I'm sure there's been meetings about it. Really hard.

SPEAKER_00

We're out here like leaking shit on accident.

SPEAKER_02

Jeez. Jeez. I don't want to be a part of those meetings, let me just say.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, Lord in heaven.

SPEAKER_02

You know what another movie didn't need any sequels?

SPEAKER_00

Huh.

SPEAKER_02

The Matrix.

SPEAKER_00

There's more than one.

SPEAKER_02

There's four.

SPEAKER_00

Why the fuck is there four?

SPEAKER_02

That's a great question.

SPEAKER_00

What do you do? What do you do? What do you keep doing? Also, um, I watched only the first one, obviously. I didn't know that there were others. Um sorry. I'm sorry. The world of movies is huge.

SPEAKER_02

It's so large. But I have been shrinking it recently.

SPEAKER_00

Have you?

SPEAKER_02

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_00

I'm chewing far away for you.

SPEAKER_02

That's good. Your mic is very sensitive.

SPEAKER_00

I was like, is it nothing at all? Because I feel like I can still hear it, but also I'm the one chewing, so I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

It's definitely gonna get picked up a little bit, um, but it's okay. Well, it's that kind of podcast now. Okay, so uh for yeah, The Matrix. Um, yeah, uh the first movie is great.

SPEAKER_00

I said that it was like spy kids with a really high budget.

SPEAKER_02

Works for me.

SPEAKER_00

I will never forget all of the fucking baby tube things that scared the fuck out of me. That's where I was like, what the fuck is going on?

SPEAKER_02

It's a good time.

SPEAKER_00

I lost my shit. Oh, energy sources.

SPEAKER_02

To a computer.

SPEAKER_00

I I literally was like, what what? That's when I lost the plot.

SPEAKER_02

But the other Matrix movies. Um, they just try to do like it's just not gonna be the same. You can there's some sequels, which we could do this next week. Sequels that are better than the originals, to just do like the polar opposite out of to even it out. Because I'm like, there it's not like sequels never work. There are some sequels that are fantastic, but a lot of times it just it always ends up coming back to just like uh are we just trying to get more money? Yep, that's okay, that's what we're doing. All right, because it works.

SPEAKER_00

Guarantee make money, which is kind of annoying.

SPEAKER_02

It's a business at the end of the day.

SPEAKER_00

Because it's like people want to go see an IP that they know, which like I I get it, but like we need to stop looking at movies like we're cooking. Because I know that like when I'm learning a new recipe, I get kind of stressed because if I either like fuck up while I'm cooking or if I just don't like the end result, I feel like I wasted my money. So it's like I should have just like bought things that I know that I like so that I wouldn't have one wasted money and two still been hungry at the end of the night. We need to stop doing that same kind of principle with movies. You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_02

It's true. Yeah, I saw movies are not McDonald's.

SPEAKER_00

Ew, fuck McDonald's.

SPEAKER_02

I'm just saying.

SPEAKER_00

Fuck McDonald's.

SPEAKER_02

Movies are not McDonald's, and we shouldn't treat them as though they are a fast food restaurant.

SPEAKER_00

Ew.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Pick a different one.

SPEAKER_02

Burger King. I don't know. Yeah. I know. That was the point.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Do you have another film you'd like to do?

SPEAKER_00

Soji's kind of hitting right now.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I figured. That's why all the noises.

SPEAKER_00

Oh no. Oh, I don't think that we needed a second hangover. I'm sorry. I don't know if that was necessary. I feel like it being like I don't think the drop in quality is terribly far away. It's not, I don't even here's the thing. It's been so long since I've seen these movies. Um do I really remember them all that much? The second one almost ah, I'm pulling at straws.

SPEAKER_02

But like isn't it the one in uh is it Vietnam?

SPEAKER_00

But the first one I remember a lot.

SPEAKER_02

Well, yeah. The first one's iconic.

SPEAKER_00

Thank you. And I think that we should have just left it untouched.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I don't remember much of like there is a second Step Brothers, no?

SPEAKER_02

You're asking the wrong guy.

SPEAKER_00

Damn, you're right. You never even finished the first one. I can s I can almost guarantee that there's a second Step Brothers movie. And it's just like with comedy movies like that, I feel like maybe we should have just left them at the one that they are.

SPEAKER_02

Yes. A million times, yes. And to jump off of the the Hangover, uh uh I have another film that popped into my mind while we were talking. Uh Joker, a different Todd Phillips film. We did not need a second one of those, especially in hindsight.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know what I wanted the second one to be.

SPEAKER_02

But the first one was so good.

SPEAKER_00

But the second the first one was so good. Uh I love the idea of Lady Gaga being Harley Quinn.

SPEAKER_02

I think it works in theory.

SPEAKER_00

I think it really fucking works. The execution of it.

SPEAKER_02

Which I didn't feel like was Gaga's fault, by the way.

SPEAKER_00

No, and I don't think that's Gaga's fault. I don't think that's Joaquin's fault either. No. Um.

SPEAKER_02

No.

SPEAKER_00

My ex's middle name is Joaquin. That's all I think about every time.

SPEAKER_02

Ah. Mr. Phoenix.

SPEAKER_00

Uh oh, oh, the different lifetimes.

SPEAKER_02

Any more from you?

SPEAKER_00

Um? Yeah, I don't, and this is I want to say this with being that this is my favorite Disney princess movie. And it has been for so long. I don't think we needed more Aladdin movies. I think that Aladdin was perfect on its own, and the sequels. There's three.

SPEAKER_02

Now you got me.

SPEAKER_00

There's three, and I think that they went straight to VHS.

SPEAKER_02

And like I don't think I've ever seen either of them.

SPEAKER_00

It's it's Aladdin and Jasmine's wedding, and like, um I think one of those called, I'm gonna do this without looking it up, and everyone can hate me later. Um Fuck it. I the the king of thieves, and that's his that's Aladdin's dad, and like his dad comes back.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I'm vaguely remembering this.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah, yeah. And there's one where like uh Jafar's return. I don't remember which one is two and which one is three, but I do remember these being titles. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Where it's kind of like, you know, like the Emperor's New Groove? Next week, when we talk about a sequel that is worth it, is worth it. But in Nakosus Muddy Offset, they have the TV show.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

It it kind of felt like that, like episodes of like those TV shows. Or like Lilo and Stitch also got like a TV show after their sequels.

SPEAKER_02

I'm fine with that. TV shows as their sequels.

SPEAKER_00

You know, when I was a kid, I'd rather than do that. I really like those shows when I was a kid.

SPEAKER_02

I'd rather do that because it's like if I really would love this universe and I want to sign up for more content, then I want more content, and TV is a good way to do that. But like to ruin the experience of the movies with another sequel.

SPEAKER_00

Or a live action?

SPEAKER_02

Or a live action remake of an animated film.

SPEAKER_00

Uh all along the same note, um, The Little Mermaid 2.

SPEAKER_02

Hmm. Where I think Disney's been doing this for a long time.

SPEAKER_00

Disney does this. It's hard. I wanted to name other movies that weren't Disney, and I did. Um, but my first initial thought when we were texting about what do we talk about today, my first when I was like, maybe things that didn't need to be sequels, my first thought was was Disney. Um they own so much of my movie library knowledge. And like I'm I'm happy to see a princess like have a daughter. She's the only princess with a daughter, um, which is cool. But I think the best thing we got out of that movie is literally the song in the beginning of the movie, and then the rest of the movie is just kind of like a TV the TV vibe, the TV episode vibe.

SPEAKER_02

We don't like that.

SPEAKER_00

But the song is great.

SPEAKER_02

Do you have another film to talk about?

SPEAKER_00

Nope!

SPEAKER_02

You're done?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, you go.

SPEAKER_02

I only have one more. Jurassic Park did not need uh extra films. And um though I don't mind the other ones. No. Don't do it.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Stop now.

SPEAKER_00

I um I will watch Justice Smith in any project that they're in. Um not a uh I don't how many Jurassic Park movies have there been?

SPEAKER_02

There was three parks and three worlds, four worlds.

SPEAKER_00

Are we gonna count that as a separate franchise or just all together? Oh, it's all together. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

The Jurassic franchise. The Jurassic extended universe.

SPEAKER_00

So that's like six movies?

SPEAKER_02

Six or seven, I can't remember, yeah. Just a couple.

SPEAKER_00

I I get I get the money, but like No, I did if you want to talk financial, like obviously. Okay, but I really liked watching Jonathan Bailey. I love Jonathan Bailey's character in Jurassic World, that last movie. That was great. That was adorable. Did we need it? I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

All those talented people could have been making something else.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know if we needed it. But I had a good time.

SPEAKER_02

Could have been.

SPEAKER_00

Which is kind of what this this entire episode is. I don't know if we needed it.

SPEAKER_02

No.

SPEAKER_00

But I had a good time. Except for them Little Mermaid 2.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I had eh, it was uh it was alright. It was alright.

SPEAKER_02

Really, um Neil Patrick Harris is in that movie.

SPEAKER_00

Do I and you don't like it?

SPEAKER_02

Oh, but like super random cameo, you know.

SPEAKER_00

You like Neil Patrick Harris.

SPEAKER_02

I do, and I like Keanu Reeves.

unknown

Damn.

SPEAKER_00

Damn.

SPEAKER_02

That is not we all spam calls, love it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So what have you been watching since the last time we recorded into microphones?

SPEAKER_00

Um, I just watched, um, I didn't realize it was a miniseries, but I'm okay with it being a miniseries. I watched uh Lord of the Flies. So good. I feel like I did talk about this before on here.

SPEAKER_01

Briefly.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I did. Okay, just making sure. Um oh, it was so good. It was so good. And to be like, oh my god, those exact lines. I have the script. I have the script right behind me on my shelf. Ah, there's there, um, I know that they said that they're just um I don't uh sorry. The actual content and my friend's content is mixing together. But um, I don't know if they said that these were the four main. Because in my head, I'm like, Roger is also a main character. Maybe not as main as Jack, Ralph, and Piggy. Simon is a very pivotal point, but I feel like Roger's definitely like up there. Just slightly, just like above Maurice, Sam, Eric. You know, I I know that you didn't watch it. I know that you didn't see it yet.

SPEAKER_01

I'm just here.

SPEAKER_00

I know. But um, it's it's split into four episodes. Um, Piggy, Jack, Simon, and then Ralph. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

So just different POVs. Or just like different storylines.

SPEAKER_00

I think it they they they just like they focus on that boy mainly and like how people are perceived from their point of view. Um, a little bit more prevalently, but like, like you see, like, okay, I guess it's mini spoiler, but not mini spoiler. This book you should have read in ninth grade. Um if you're from California, I think that the standard is ninth grade. Um, if not definitely senior year. Um, so the first episode is with Piggy. Um, and like Jack acts and is portrayed like very mean bully type.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

And then you get to, because that's j that's just how he sees him. Um, and then you see you get to Jack's episode, and he has like a little bit of a more like softer side, and a little more like there's like reason to his being upset, I guess.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

And so it a little bit of that.

SPEAKER_02

So it's like different.

SPEAKER_00

That's why how it's like split. It's like not like so focused on them, but like kind of how they see each other. Different performances kind of yeah, and even just like the way that the story is, like as a whole, going from this child to the next, is it's it flows really nicely. Um, really, really good. Really took took me back, made me want to cry, be like, uh, my heart. We love that little in.

SPEAKER_01

We love that.

SPEAKER_00

And where I'm like, oh my god, even just like the smallest, the smallest lines where I'm like, I remember like doing that in college and being like, that's a kind of weird thing. Not a weird thing to say. But just like the way that it was like Like okay, so like in the the very end of the the show, the series, the play, all of the above, um the there's this this British Navy man soldier that finds the boys and is like, We saw your smoke, you see, we saw you spoke. And I thought that that was like a weird way to word that. But you heard it again, or be like, You're all British boys, aren't you? You're all British, aren't you? So I don't know, I don't know. I thought it was like I I it was to say it like twice in the way that you said it, and I don't know, it didn't always like sit naturally to me. That's just me. That's just I wouldn't have said it like that naturally, but that's okay, that's why we play characters. Um true. But hearing it in the show, I was like, ah you two? Ah do it again. That's how you guys do the chant. You know what? I take it. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That was great. I had a great time. I think the kids did a phenomenal fucking job. Okay. Um, I know that it's so hard to film with children and like the legal time restrictions. So I think that they did a fucking phenomenal job. And like I would watch it again, truly.

SPEAKER_02

All right. Maybe I'll have to give it a watch.

SPEAKER_00

It's only four hours. Four hours are your time.

SPEAKER_02

Well, you got me watching some other six hours. I have tell him, tell him, tell him. So I watched the first episode of Heated Rivalry.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

More to come.

SPEAKER_01

Um, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

We'll see. Um yeah, it's good, I guess. Uh hard to say, it's not like, oh my god, this is the greatest pilot I've ever seen, but like it's good. That's fair. I can see where we're going here.

SPEAKER_00

I take that.

SPEAKER_02

You know. Not not too shabs. Um, the camera work is really good. Um, I like the editing. I don't love the pace overall. I think I mentioned this to you, just like it jumps time a ton, which you said it takes place over like seven years. That's a lot. Um, but I mean, like, I get it, because it's like they're just athletes on their own team, so there's like plenty of time spent apart and all that, blah, blah, blah, blah. You know, fair enough. Um, it's just kind of like okay, it's very segmented, I guess. Um, which is fine. Um, but there's good chemistry, there's good tension, there's good dialogue, there's good acting, there's good camera work, you know, there's good stuff in there, there's good things. And we'll uh we'll see what happens. I take it for the next five episodes.

SPEAKER_00

Did you like the water bottle scene?

SPEAKER_02

The water bottle scene. Yes, that that's part of the uh camera work that I'm mentioning. And I like the um I saw that water bottle.

SPEAKER_00

When I was like texting my cousin while I was watching this, because she watched it first and she was like, You need to see this, and I was like, You're now like the third person that told me I have to watch this, so I will. I I remember like I got to like the water bottle scene immediately. I was like, this is the gayest show I've ever seen in my life. Yes. They haven't even kissed yet, haven't done anything yet, and I was like, that was gay. Is this challengers? That was gay.

SPEAKER_01

Could be.

SPEAKER_00

Loved it.

SPEAKER_01

Might be.

SPEAKER_00

I'm okay with that. Give me more. Same everything, but six more. You know what I mean? Are we gonna talk about euphoria and Sam Levinson's bullshit with yeah, mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_02

Go on, that's where I was going next.

SPEAKER_00

Why? Why? So I saw somebody, somebody posted. Do you remember in season two when Dominic Feck sang for like 10 minutes?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And then and then this montage with Cassie doing OnlyFans was also like unnecessarily long.

SPEAKER_02

It was so long.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. They were like same font, different story. I was like, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

It was painful. I was like, oh, we're still going. Oh, we're still going.

SPEAKER_00

We're still going.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, Adam was like still going.

SPEAKER_00

Adam said he was like, You've heard, I think he said he tweeted, he was like, You've heard of torture porn. Now there's now there's porn torture.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I kind of felt that. Uh just a lot. Oh my god, it was a lot. And the for what? The giant size thing. Uh why?

SPEAKER_00

Why?

SPEAKER_02

Why?

SPEAKER_00

Why?

SPEAKER_02

And then the ending of that, I mean.

SPEAKER_00

Tits. We get it. You have them.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Why?

SPEAKER_00

Why?

SPEAKER_02

So many questions. I was like, can I get can can we please see the euphoria title screen? So this will be over. Like, I'm just waiting. Because honestly, the rest of the episode wasn't horrible, but that opening was like, oh my god.

SPEAKER_00

No, I yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Uh Nate, Nate's toes and fingers could stop being lopped off. I'd be okay with it.

SPEAKER_00

Now I'm literally like, oh, please no.

SPEAKER_02

But he's also so cringy.

SPEAKER_00

Someone reminded me. I don't remember who, and I'm so sorry. Um, I want to say it was Adam and Dom. Where the fuck is Nate Jacobs with a gun? That man was not above gun violence. Not at all.

SPEAKER_02

He used a gun in season one.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, where the fuck is that, Nate? Where like the whole time that this man who's coming to come to collect his money, and Nate is running through the house trying to look for a place to hide. Where's the gun?

SPEAKER_02

None of it makes sense.

SPEAKER_00

You've never thought to shot this man down.

SPEAKER_02

I I don't get it. I don't get it at all.

SPEAKER_00

Huh? I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

None of it makes sense.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know. I don't know. I my poor girl Lexi.

SPEAKER_02

Poor girl Lexi.

SPEAKER_00

She's got so much brain.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

She has maybe the only one with like any bit of normalcy.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And she's just watching it crumble in front of her.

SPEAKER_02

It's an unfortunate thing to be an audience.

SPEAKER_00

God damn it, Cassie.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Maddie, Maddie's saving Rue's life at the moment.

SPEAKER_02

She is. And I think that Rue's gonna be very thankful of that very soon.

SPEAKER_00

I don't think that Rue's dead.

SPEAKER_02

No.

SPEAKER_00

This is also scary to be like, I don't want to give spoilers, but like if yeah, if you're watching this, maybe you know.

SPEAKER_02

Um like if you haven't seen the episode, uh bye, that's the only thing we're talking about, and that's the end. Uh, but if if you have, we're gonna spoil things now. So there you go.

SPEAKER_00

I don't think that she's dead because of like them showing um Alamo not stabbing that other guy, like just missing. I think that Rue's gonna be the same way with the but knuckles just the fucking because I thought when they would like dig, I thought that she was literally digging her grave. And then they were like, just to your throat, and I was like not all the way. That's not deep enough.

SPEAKER_02

Deeper.

SPEAKER_00

Right. And then um he came out with the fucking golf club. Is that what it was?

SPEAKER_02

Uh is it?

SPEAKER_00

Because it wasn't like a golf club, but oh, maybe it was like that.

SPEAKER_02

It's what's that sport called? It's not cricket, is it? It's it's the one with the horses, but it's cricket. But it's not cricket, it's croquet.

SPEAKER_00

Croquet's not on horses.

SPEAKER_02

But it's the same um it's the croquet on horses, whatever it's called. I can't remember what it's called.

SPEAKER_00

Is that cricket? Are we doing it?

SPEAKER_02

Isn't cricket the like with the paddle, it's like the baseball almost cricket.

SPEAKER_00

Oh yeah, that's different.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

We're just wrong.

SPEAKER_02

Maybe you can just put that was I'm sure people know are really mad at us, and yep, that's fair. I would be too. But we don't know. Ignorance is bliss. I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

I wouldn't call this bliss, I just feel it's fine. I just don't know what the name is and what's not looking at it.

SPEAKER_02

I don't think she's dead. Like, there's three episodes left. You're not killing it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, no, but I do think that she could be dead by the end of it. Because what I also want to point out is that like I'm not gonna say all of it because it could be like there's like a little percent chance that I'm wrong, but all of her narrations, it's just that I wouldn't do that. Anyways, most of her narrations are in past tense.

SPEAKER_02

True.

SPEAKER_00

So it's like, are you telling these stories from the grave? Are you telling this from your death?

SPEAKER_02

We'll find out in a few weeks.

SPEAKER_00

We'll find out at the end.

SPEAKER_02

Um This is the end, right?

SPEAKER_00

Interesting. Um, here's the other thing that I think Dom pointed out is that like, even though Zendayo's contract is up, that like um I don't know if it was like HBO showing like their, like, you know how like Marvel would be like, this is our lineup for the year, or like for the next five years.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_00

That HBO did the same, and it shows like hacks, series finale, euphoria, season finale.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I didn't think it was gonna be over.

SPEAKER_00

You don't think that those was I thought I was fully like this is the end.

SPEAKER_02

It should be the end, but they're gonna try to scrounge together more of them. You just know. You just know. This is the what was this episode about?

SPEAKER_00

I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

Please don't do any more.

SPEAKER_00

So maybe Rue does die at the end of this.

SPEAKER_02

Well then if she's dead, then I don't care. I mean, I love Maddie and Lexi, I feel bad for, and Jules is awesome, but like without Rue, this show is not gonna continue.

SPEAKER_00

It's like um Nekos' Gray's Anatomy when Sandro is like, listen, when when she wants to stop acting, when I no longer have a Meredith Gray, I'll stop. Yeah, I don't know if that was true or not. I haven't stepped into Gray's Anatomy in a second, but I do remember that being said.

SPEAKER_02

Fair enough. Um I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know. I don't know, dude.

SPEAKER_02

I don't like that future. Jimmy, stop. I also we'll see what happens, but yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I also I have like a strange relationship with Maddie because like though I do love her right now, and I'm rooting for her right now because of my disdain for Cassie and Sydney Sweeney. Um we forget that Maddie was like a bad fucking person in the beginning. Like fully lied about I th I want to say his name is Tyler, like raping her in the pool.

SPEAKER_01

Yep.

SPEAKER_00

Caused so much bullshit that did not need to happen.

SPEAKER_01

Yep.

SPEAKER_00

Like at the same time, like she's abused, so it's like I uh uh uh do I feel I don't know how to I don't know how to feel all the fucking time and then I'm like do you do you is this a way of being like you know even villains get better? I don't even know if I'd ever call her a villain, but she is in someone's story.

SPEAKER_02

She is in Nate's story so much.

SPEAKER_00

Fuck Nate. I know fuck Nate. This is really showing what happens when men peak in high school.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

My God, man. That the the spineless, I never thought that I would want toxic Nate Jacobs, and I kind of wanted him to pop up at the end of that fucking wedding when they were talking about like pressure cooking.

SPEAKER_02

He needs to pop up before the end of this season, at least. Come on. Where is this, man?

SPEAKER_00

Where is it?

SPEAKER_02

Where's the absolute psychopath, Nate Jacobs?

SPEAKER_00

I what happens in Nate? Is this what happens when did Nate?

SPEAKER_02

The one that's blackmailing Tyler. Seriously. Like the one that's slamming his head against the ground when him and his dad get in a fight. But like where's this guy?

SPEAKER_00

Not but like someone that like weaponized therapy, you know what I mean? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Someone that like treats you like shit and then says that they gotta protect their peace.

SPEAKER_02

Ooh, we love therapized narcissists.

SPEAKER_00

I can't. People that just like learn therapy language and then use it against you. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yep.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know, dude. I don't, it's such, I don't know. I don't know what we're doing. I don't, I feel bad. That Jules.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Uh when she was like, if you want to kiss me, just kiss me. Like, what do you want from me? I was like, okay, okay, confidence. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

It comes out randomly with her.

SPEAKER_00

Bring it up, bring it up, bring it out. And then her fuck ass boyfriend.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_00

That I'm like, uh, whatever, he's paying for the whole place, but like, why did you treat her like that? And also, like, you're the one cheating on your wife.

SPEAKER_02

I know.

SPEAKER_00

Get a fucking grip. Get a fucking grip. And like, if sh is Jules lying about Rue just being a friend, who's to say? I didn't see the scene. Probably. I didn't see if they actually hooked up or not.

SPEAKER_02

Probably.

SPEAKER_00

It wasn't there, so I can't say.

SPEAKER_02

But probably. Very much inferred.

SPEAKER_00

I can't say definitively.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. But who was wearing those shorts.

SPEAKER_00

But if it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. I don't know what you're talking about. Um, anyways. Um if I talked to my mistress, basically, um that feels mean almost. Um, and was like, Who the fuck is this? And she was like, my friend came over. That was just my friend, T Slay, and you were like, oh fucking, and treat her like shit and then make her cry.

SPEAKER_02

It's not great.

SPEAKER_00

Dude, fuck you. Yeah. Fuck you. Fuck you. Yeah. Fuck you.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Didn't like felt bad for Jules.

SPEAKER_02

Didn't like.

SPEAKER_00

Felt bad for Jules than that.

SPEAKER_02

Feel bad for Lexi, feel bad for Jules.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Miss Fez.

SPEAKER_02

Miss Fez. Alright, that's it.

SPEAKER_00

Alright, I love you guys. Wait, did you watch anything else other than Euphoria?

SPEAKER_02

Uh, and Heated Ravalry.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yes. You're right. Okay, sorry.

SPEAKER_02

Um, more Tucci in Italy and more Master Chef if you want me to keep talking about that, but I think I've been down those roads. Um, alright, that's it. I'll have another heated rivalry next week, probably. Um, and we'll have more euphoria, most likely, I would assume.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Alright. Until then.

SPEAKER_00

Until then.

SPEAKER_02

You know where to find us.

SPEAKER_00

See you later. That's a wrap.
